The bracket was randomly generated with minor tweaking to balance it out since there are so many characters. the clever one, then, inherits a pretty one. all the hushed baby-lips, without the stretch marks. mine, she dotes, my child. her belly is still ripe from childbearing; its kicks are unimportant. a clever daughter, no doubt, to match this pretty one. somewhere in you, there is a memory that’s not quite a memory. buttered fingers knead into your doughy neck. your lovely, lovely aunt who softly coos as you cry and cry. tears glass those eyes, even now, when she whispers to you with her hands bracketing your nape. for every gilded sunday, plum-dressed and thick-lashed, you will remember the outskirts of your siblings’ posse. how any other would treasure your fresh face, shying away from a pinch on your cherry blossom cheeks. for this face is your mother’s, and such pain wore her to an early grave. the wrinkling shadows, still, settle into your siblings’ grins. you watch them. that is all you can do.
in your isolation, you listen for your aunt’s silent cues. how she won’t respond to mother, no matter how hard her children tug at heart-strings that don’t connect. she ties them to a chair, maybe, and returns to nurse a cold cup of tea. they try to teeth on mama –– a screeching baby, instead of a mewling baby –– to melt a name down their throats, and into their fat hearts. a name that only they may speak. your name is so dear, they want to say, that i would not sully you by saying it. to her, an adulation. to them, a birthright. you are the one to see beyond this. to forget that she could be called mother. her ears prickle, only, when you say her name. helena. the delicacy of her smile is relentless. it curves into her lowered chin. all that gaze for you; this time, that name will be yours. and then, she begins the quote with a clicked tongue. almost breathless when she says, i wish you wouldn’t call me that. your siblings have none of the will to reach for her hand. regardless of their mother’s wants. your aunt-mother holds your hand in the crook of her elbow. they watch you. that is all they can do.
hedged by the dark, her dry hand cups your cheek. she is pale, moon-faced, and the shadows drip crimson from her open mouth. you know your lips curls in the same way. a daughter has her mother’s mouth. the maw possesses no end nor beginning. there is only the blood. anyone who isn’t us is an enemy, she will spew, we are all that matters. you were made to exclude. to inhale ease, and exhale dread. this is how one grows into a soldier. secluded to a daughter’s curse: your mother’s blood-thirst. the child of a fraught house doesn’t realise its loss, even after one calls it a bug’s name. cicada. your rhythm is for you alone. heard only under sunlight; your hum prickles the rays like flickering stars. the old hymn in your heart. i see, i want, i eat.
it is an odd lament, then, to coalesce with a ‘ they ’ as your mother’s daughter. you are part of them. there is no more you. they share your mud-gouged gaze. pull at the hardened roots of your pedestal. their nails will find your weak ribs, and the chewy sinews of your neck. you already found theirs. held and holding. this story still has one ending. with your mother’s fist at your scruff. at the base of a cave, far deeper than six feet under. cold like a broken skin. the reedy bones of a squashed bug. one of them betrays you, and you don’t want your mother. not at the end of your earth’s time. you don’t come back wrong; you were always wrong. a fluttering atrocity: regal in your lack of mercy. half-god like a roach, living long after humanity. a glutton for their own entrails. people are easier when they thrum quietly. amara tsuchiya knows this. she sips life’s nectar, and grows a new set of ribs. metallic, this time, flavoured like spilled blood. the sun will clutch its eclipse; she will be quiet.

Animated Women Who Could Kick Sylvie's Arse in a Fight
After seeing International Women's Day littered with Sylvie admiration (making me want to puke), I asked myself "how many Disney animated characters written for children are better role models for girls, and how many of them could kick Sylvie's ass in a fight?
Esmeralda (Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Sylvie's got the standard tragic backstory about growing up on her wits, but Esmeralda used her time in an less-than-ideal life to develop her street smarts and fight for her people (not just herself). She has an entire population in her corner, which she earned through entertaining her community and being a helpful, contributing member of society, not pitying herself and using her situation for petty revenge.
Esmeralda vs Sylvie wouldn't be a contest. Even with her opponent having magic, Esmeralda is a great improviser, and has the ovaries to go up to the Captain of the Guard with a candelabra and engage him in combat.
Princess Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire)
Kida's already a warrior and proficient in combat, so strength isn't an issue. She's got more passion and drive than Sylvie, and she has the added component for being open-minded and asking for help from outsiders, which means she is more trusting and more likely to have backup. She's also selfless and has the skills of a leader. She probably would've met Loki and asked for his input constantly, working together instead of against each other. She also admits her shortcomings for the good of the task at hand (I cannot see Sylvie admitting she can't read).
Kida would out Sylvie in her place with all-around better planning and strategy.
Mulan (Mulan)
I don't think I need to explain this one. Sylvie fucking wishes she were Mulan.
Non-Disney Honorable Mention: Literally ANY girl/woman from Avatar: The Last Airbender
Sylvie wouldn't have a prayer in a TLA/Loki crossover. Bear in mind, most of the female characters in TLA are no older than sixteen. Each one not only uses the support of the others on their team to accomplish their goals. Katara knows how regulating emotions and being in touch with reason can make one a better fighter, Toph doesn't let ANYTHING get in her way, her response to trouble usually being "lol hold my beer", Azula is a master strategist, plus they all are literal teenage globe-trotters, making them exceptionally resourceful.
Also, Katara lost her mom, Toph had to run away from a non-supportive family, Ty Lee was one in seven and had to constantly fight for her own identity, and Korra was literally tortured, nearly assassinated several times over, and spent YEARS suffering from PTSD and trauma...and you didn't see any of them become self-pitying, rash revenge-seekers who secretly just want to be loved.
Hell, Sylvie could be beaten by four-year-old Korra.
The list is far from exhaustive. The fact that I thought of these examples without even trying says how much Sylvie really is worth, and why people who raise her up as a "better Loki" or a "girl boss Loki" can suck my nards. Nickelodeon wrote better women.

This is essentially a retelling of Volo's story with a lot of artistic and storytelling liberties. I will interact with all renditions of Giratina muses, but my headcanons on Volo's relationship with Giratina are primarily shared with @distortworld's interpretation. Shan Lee's inspirations:
Xihe : Her mother is the sun goddess Xihe. Only no one will know that Lee is a goddess (looks and is a human). It's a secret
Bellona (Smite): I love voice actress, Laura Post. So I add to her voice (only without effect) :3
Sally Swing : Her body too is the main inspiration to her too.
Tigress ( Kung Fu Panda ) : Lee as baby is adopted by her master, how her mother said him take care of my baby . And from childhood, he taught her acrobatics, martial arts and meditation. And yeah he is Lee's stepfather. Cuphead call her ,,Tigress'' ^_^
Female monk ( Diablo 3 ) : As it know, she looks like her. The skilsl are correct, but her quotes death was what Kharazim from Heroes of the Storm was saying.
Kida ( Atlantis Lost Empire ) and Mulan : Maybe I hint about the Disney princesses inspiration for her: After the first Phasa 2 her pose to fight is inspired to see Mulan as she fights villain Shan Yu in final battle. And on the second, when she hears about the gods, she may be Princess Kida
Ty Lee ( Avatar : Last Airbender ) : You probably think that she can only fight for a female warrior? Maybe she is a monk, but also a circus acrobat ! And her circus class at a circus show is Aerial Silk.
Chun Li ( Street Fighter ) : Her circus outfit belonged to Chun Li in Street Fighter Alpha, while dress also belonged to her but in the same Street Fighter game
Caulifla ( Dragon Ball ) : The goddess transformation is similar to the Super Saiyan transformation but the difference is that Lee calls the gods to suppress, and the saiyans like Caulifla attains this transformation during her lesson with Cabba.

Daft Punk: a long time fan since 2010
Poetry
I don't really have a specific genre of poetry I like... but a few points on the poets I currently like:
Walt Whitman - I mostly heard a few of his poems in one of my favourite films of all time, Dead Poets Society, which was shown to me in my highschool Advanced English class. So I grew to be fond of some of his poems featured in that film as well as a few others I discovered on my own.
John Clare - Much like Walt Whitman I heard a few of John Clare's poems recited in the TV show Penny Dreadful, a big time favourite show of mine I revisit every year. So I became curious about romantic poetry through that show and discovered more of his poems in my own time online.
T.S Eliot - I studied a fair few of T.S Eliot's poems in my highschool Advanced English class. Through his poetry I grew fascinated by the darker more modern themes and imagery he addressed and painted in his poems.
