🥁 Welcome to the first ever "Choose an unhinged Renchanting moment" ✨ALL STARS EDITION✨!!! 🥁
In which winners of the previous nine (!!) polls and the Last Life burning tower scene will battle it out for ULTIMATE UNHINGED RENCHANTING MOMENT!! Deliberately made to cross over from 2023 to 2024 to wish for a new year full of Renchanting <3
If you don't want to read my lengthy and dramatic sports guy commentary you can skip to the poll right at the end.
Now, let's introduce our beloved competitors! With some clips sponsored by @ani-craft, thank you as always <3
Starting from Round 1, the OG, the beginning of this series in Feb 2023— congrats to "Ren calling Maidtyn "very very sexy" completely unprovoked"!. Now, fellow Tumblr users, this is a historical moment because the Maidtyn trend was the Tumblr response to Martyn being active on Tumblr, and it snowballed into the Mint Mistletoes of MCC19 wearing skins of maid dresses (and a butler suit). This is the tangible impact of the Tumblr fan community on MCC. And of course it's about maid dresses.
Round 1 was quickly followed up by Round 2, and narrowly winning by FOUR votes is... [drumroll] "r/place (2022) when Martyn helped place a pixel of blush on RK Ren"!. Truly a chaotic moment that somehow became a highlight even in the overall chaos of those few days.
But the numbers really peaked in Round 3, aka. the Limited Life edition when Martyn's lore stream repeatedly dropped bombs on us. 100% of these moments are from Martyn, by the way. But which unhinged moment was the most unhinged? Which moment will win like Martyn? Unsurprisingly, the most popular option are those two words that basically sum it up— "UNGUIDED HAND". An unhinged moment that won with a whopping 404 out of 1913 votes.
Things did not calm down after Limited Life. Some might say the moments only became more unhinged. 2.5 months after LimLife ended, Round 4 began. Most of these moments are also from Martyn. Most unhinged of all: "Martyn declaring in a low voice: 'Third Life never ended for me'." Yeah it sure didn't, buddy.
Fast forward to September 2023. Treebark Week 2023! Surely the perfect moment for a poll! Also, I need to add that I was so excited about Round 5 that I posted it before TBW ended and... let's say it immediately got worse the day after I posted the poll. My hubris for assuming it was the end... Anyways, Martyn's Tumblr shenanigans kick in once again. Congrats to "Martyn saying nothing about an ask that claims his character is in love with Ren", which also ended up being a significant post to Scurvyblr. For reasons.
Two months after TBW, the pining gets exponentially worse. And I do mean exponentially. Enter Round 6, which has a lot of insane moments, but there was one clear winner, a moment that swept with 32% of the votes— everybody clap and cheer for "Martyn's 50 word 3L AU drabble - "Luck be with ye.... Hand"!! At the time of writing, that post has 4.1k notes. Martyn's just like us. He's writing fanfiction and that's so real of him.
Merely ten days later, fires are crackling, demons are giggling— it's the Decked Out open day! And we got a Renchanting feast! Round 7 emerged from That Iconic Burning Stone Box and was dedicated to moments the stream day. With 39% of the votes, the unhinged moment that swept was "Ren to Martyn: You have very fine lips there and a wonderful neck for kissing". Honorable mentions go to Martyn's Twitch chat (for surviving), Martyn's viewers (for clipping it with varying degrees of "what did he just say??"), and of course, False (for locking them in and kickstarting whatever the improv demon roleplay was).
A few weeks later, the flames have died down— or have they? Round 8 enters with a steel chair and Ren has more unhinged moments now. Martyn's Tumblr takes home another win with "Martyn reblogging a post that calls Ren his “Minecraft boyfriend”!! This is the third win that's from Martyn's Tumblr blog. You love to see it.
Last but not the least, Round 9 from last week! It's finally Ren's turn to dominate. Our winner is.... "Ren mentions going to sleep and dreaming of Martyn’s 'beautiful, beautiful eyes'"!! Appropriately clipped with the caption "Insane".
But that's not all! In Round 1 + 2, I purposefully excluded the altar scene and the burning tower scene because I felt those two would sweep. Now, I think the altar scene is still untouchable but the burning tower seems almost normal now. (As normal as an unhinged moment could be.)
A new unhinged moment has appeared! Challenger approaching! Last Life Ren purposefully sets his tower on fire after knowing Martyn is watching him and Martyn runs to save him while screaming "Ren, what are you doing to yourself! Stop burning yourself!".
Okay, okay, my dramatic commentary is done. Hey, I'm not a Renchanting fan for nothing. Here's the poll. Have fun :D
Much love to all of you <3 here's to another year of unhinged Renchanting moments!
(Also sorry the r/place should be in 2022 not 2021)

Grian Art Designs over the years
I adore Grian fans. The way the fanart of him has evolved over time is amazing! I’ve been watching since basically the start of EVO (description of EVO at the end of the post for those who don’t know it) and seeing all the different ways he’s been drawn through the years is crazy!
During EVO, Grian was drawn with his old skin until they updated enough that they got their current skins back. So all the fanart was basically a Link from Legend of Zelda cosplayer. Then when they got their skins back he was drawn as Just A Guy with a red shirt.
Flash forward to season 6 and he began as Just A Guy but then fans began drawing him with wings!
Grian was wing-ified due to his skill with Elytra! If you’ve seen season 6 he was awful at them at the start of the season because he’s never used them due to him playing mostly creative mode after a certain point with updates in Minecraft so he was unfamiliar with a lot of new features used in survival play. However, within a few episodes, he was one of the best fliers in the server, even setting up a complex elytra course in the shopping district for which he held the fastest time.
During season 6 Grian was often depicted with either white/black feathered wings or purple feathered/bug like wings. The purple wings relate to a popular Headcanon fans carried over from the ending of EVO when Grian became a watcher. In Watcher!Grian AUs there were various designs that depicted several different aspects such as masks, multiple eyes, being based on Biblically Accurate Angles, wings (sometimes multiple sets), claws, fangs, robes, etc. the list goes on and on.
Grian’s popularity skyrocketed during season 6 as HermitCraft is a well known series that had loads of fans prior to his joining and attracted many more to the series afterwords as well. So many people knew Grian to be proficient with Elytra and the general consensus among fans was “Grian has wings”.
Sometime between the second part of season six and early season seven, artists swapped his red shirt for a red jumper.
His design regarding wings was adapted in season 7 to give him parrot wings due to the Pesky Bird shenanigans. Season 7 also had a massive increase of viewers as it happened during the major part of the COVID-19 lockdown with the season kicking off in late February, just weeks before the lockdowns began. Once again, an influx of new fans seeing Grian in fanart being depicted with Red Parrot wings was majorly influential to artists designs.
Some fans began drawing winged ear things (don’t know the word for them lol), goggles, and bird feet/legs around this time also, further cementing his place as an Avian of some sort.
His design since then has remained mostly the same due to the similarity of his skin and no new justifications to have changed (excluding MCC art which shows him in his Team’s Colour for outfits rather than his typical red)
Grian has experienced yet another increase of fans/fanart due to the Life Series, especially double life. This gaining interest and Martyn’s inclusion of Watchers in his Last Life series has lead new fans to watching EVO and bringing back the popularity of Watcher AUs meaning there are Watcher!Grian designs circulating the internet again!
What is EVO?
Evolution SMP, commonly called EVO or EVO SMP, was a survival multiplayer series that began in late 2017. The players included Grian, SolidarityGaming (Jimmy), InTheLittleWood (Martyn), MiniMuka, NettyPlays, SalemsLady, BigBStatz, Tomohawk and SystemZee. Later in the series, Taurtis and PearlescentMoon joined as well.
The premise of the series was to take players back to old versions of minecraft and as time passed, upgrade into the next version. Often they would skip through a couple of versions each update as older updates didn’t add much to the game at a time. They updated by completing challenges and scavenger hunts as well as solving riddles and puzzles set up in the world by The Watchers.
As the name suggests, The Watchers watched over the world as unseen powerful entities. They created the portals that lead Evolutionists to the next versions. Grian has said that Watchers are meant to be the audiences of EVO because we watch the episodes. This is further shown when Grian leaves the EVO series because he was invited to join HermitCraft Season Six and simply didn’t have the time to manage both series. Grian departed the series and had a conversation with two Watchers (named Watcher 1 and Watcher 2) in an altered version of the End Poem that played after Grian defeated the Ender Dragon. At the end, Grian becomes Watcher 3 and says he looks forward to watching the rest of the EVO as he has now joined the audience.
Watchers were seen by fans in AUs as cruel tormentors who dragged Grian away from his friends in EVO that imprisoned him and forced him to become a watcher rather than a human that he was originally. This is an incredibly popular interpretation of the Watchers and one you will see very often if you engage with any Watcher AU content.
(My own opinion on the watchers disagrees with this headcanon however that’s discussed further in this post.)

Fae usually hide their more animal like features when they feel they aren’t safe. So Ren had never known Martyn had deer features, until he met up with him between life series. And his breath was completely taken away
There was always an otherworldly quality to Martyn - his sharp jawline and perfectly smooth skin. It was like a drawing from a children's fairytale come to life. But, Ren has friends with a lot of secrets, so he knew better than to pry. In the dramatics of the Life series, it was forgotten completely.
That partially contributes to why Martyn's true appearance took his breath away. Or, Ren would like to pretend it did. He didn't even recognise the man at first, dismissing him as just another MCC competitor until Martyn waved, calling Ren over.
His nose was more pointed with faint dappling across height of his cheek bones. The human ears Ren had been familiar with were replaced with two, very soft looking furred ones that stood a bit below small and well-kept antlers. He even has a tiny tail! It's completely fair that Ren failed to recognise him at first.
Martyn laughs it off anyway, showing off his look with all the exaggerated poses he can think of. Ren finds himself falling in love all over again.

Hey guys
Hey
Do you guys have favourite Hermitcraft/Empires/Life series skins? This can include skins from other events/series these creators were/are in like MCC or Afterlife, etc
Ya know
Out of pure, simple curiosity
I have a few
Just some
I'm very normal about them
I'm totally not just bored trying to find excuses to draw even tho its 1 AM
I would really like to know tho
Maybe I'll see some skins I've never even seen before like this
I mean, people would have to actually react to this for that to happen
But I have some faith

Never Love An Anchor
by XylstGlitch
Tommy hates the cities and towns. Not because the people of such places had wronged him in any way, no. Yet they were all so boring and dull.
Every day, the same few guards walked down his windowsill, with the same polished shiny armor, with the same razor-sharp spears, with the same pace and speed, never sparing a glance at the child above. Not that Tommy wanted to talk with those stone-faced men anyway, nor was he allowed to.
It wasn’t his fault all of the townspeople never even dared to trespass nearby either. Who would want to wander around the mayor’s mansion, with the horrid dangers of being arrested?
In the end, he was just a small sparrow trapped inside a glided golden birdcage, the false skin of a phoenix draped onto his ratty dull feathers as a convincing mirage. That didn’t mean no one didn’t try to dye his feathers into more flashy colors to make that mirage real.
(Or, Tommy has had enough of his suffocating life, so he runs.)

Recommendations based on your favorite dsmp creator
Maybe you’ve seen all the content your CC has to offer (until they post something a few months from now), maybe you want to expand your horizons, maybe you’re not really interested in the fandom anymore. For whatever reason, you want to explore some new content outside of the Dream SMP circle, well, here’s some recommendations based on how similar their content is to a DSMP creator’s.
If you like Dreamwastaken, check out:
Boosfer
Boosfer is a youtuber who does almost exclusively manhunts, but uses many twists to keep them fresh. His other similarities with Dream include his penchant for flirting with and teasing his friends, having a simple green skin with a smile, and being extremely good at the game. He appeared in MCC rising with his friends where they swept the floor (save for dodgebolt, which they did not win), and his team’s skill put them on the radar.
If you like Tommyinnit or Quackity, check out:
Boffy
If you like more chaotic, trolly content, boffy is an excellent watch, whether you prefer Tommy’s boldness or quackity’s manic antics, you can get them both from boffy. He actually has played with Tommyinnit before, in a two-part rlcraft series which is a great watch if you don’t mind young Tommy’s squeaky voice. But they have drifted more apart, as where Tommy loves cows, boffy’s one mission in life is to kill all of them.
If you like Fundy, check out:
doctor4t
doctor4t’s content is a lot like fundy’s, if, instead of a fox furry anime character, his branding was centered around a rat in a maid dress. He programs custom mobs and plug-ins, and it’s very entertaining to watch him and his friends play them. His editing style and sense of humor are also very similar to Fundy’s.
If you like Philza, HBomb94 or Ranboo, check out:
Squiddo
Squiddo sometimes gets called the “girl tommyinnit”, but her content is so much more than her admittedly over the top and funny reactions. She explores a lot of features of minecraft, like the far lands, and older versions, and she’s made it her life’s mission to find herobrine. She’s also an animator, so she not only plays minecraft, but draws with her friends and hangs out on the Artist SMP!
If you like Badboyhalo or Skeppy, check out:
KIER and DEV
If you like Badboyhalo and Skeppy’s constant arguing like a married couple, Kier and Dev are the ones for you. The channel is owned by the two, who even have a red and blue color scheme, though there is a lot more profanity and adult humor than you’d ever get from Skeppy or BBH. They do a lot of minecraft manhunts with twists as excuses to troll each other.

Recently read your little drabble on the Christmas ADVENTure and was curious to know more about Martyn's inthelittlefrost alter as I'm not familiar with most of his lore outside of Evo & 3L.
Okay I can definitely give you what there is but trust me when i say that drabble is VERY self indulgent and completely my own headcanon. nothing is like...actually cool lore. Also I'm not watching 100 episodes of a Christmas series in August so there probably is some more content I am missing
- Christmas ADVENTure is a series Martyn did between 2012 and 2015, each year there was 25 episodes uploaded over the days leading up to Christmas Day. Seasons 1 and 2 feature himself, Toby (sototallytoby), Lewis (xilubez), Henry (iBuze), and seasons 3 and 4 Henry has moved countries and is subbed in with Elliot (MegaGWolf)
- The basic idea involves the Adventures spending the days leading up to Christmas at his relatives place before they come home in time for Christmas. Each day they listen to a recording his Aunt Sandy and Uncle Stephano have left for them explaining what their plans for the day will be, and the crew goes out and does different minigames and challenges to help out the place they're staying at. Each season has a basic plotline but it's mostly just dumb banter between friends with silly roleplay.
- Martyn has four different minecraft skins representative of different seasons, and you can find them on his namemc profile. His default one is spring, he wore his summery one during his tekkit series, and a halloween/fall one during some special events back in the day. And of course, he wears a winter skin for Christmas Adventure. Even though he stopped alternating skins awhile ago, and despite not doing the series anymore, he still puts on his winter skin during the season. He worn it during the Jingle Jam MCC last year and the hardcore marathon stream the year before. Did a bit of digging, but the name InTheLittleFrost isn't fanon, it is in fact canon. Here's a tweet.
- There's a few indications in the series about InTheLittleFrost being...different from normal Martyn. There's an ongoing bit throughout each season that he sleepwalks and wakes up in wildly different places each morning, like, literally outside the building half the time, and swaps beds with other adventurers. The beginning of season two starts with him freezing cold, incased in snow and ice and has to dug out by the others, mentioning he has no idea how he got there. While the rest of them have Christmas themed skins with cute winter clothes, they do remark on how Martyn looks different, with like, blueish skin and hair, and I think he calls himself cold at least once.
- Although normal Martyn is a chaotic bastard, Christmas Adventure Martyn is like... Martyn in Silly Mode. Just. Constantly pranking and bullying the others and being a little shit. So the fanon revolves around InTheLittleFrost being like... some kind of winter spirit that wakes up and changes Martyn slightly. He's definitely joked about being Jack Frost a bunch.
- My headcanon is pretty much that, "Frost" isn't like, a separate entity, it's still Martyn, just like, a part of him that's asleep 3/4th of the year and wakes up during winter to cause chaos. In that drabble they switch between referring to regular Martyn as themselves and something else. They share key memories but Frost doesn't know exactly what his past self told Ren, but he knows who Ren is. As the anon who inspired that ask mentioned, it's also headcanoned that Frost woke up during parts of 3rd Life, due to Red Winter. I'd imagine they just merged with regular Martyn completely so Martyn wouldn't have noticed.
- Christmas Adventure wise, I think Martyn switches out between actually being Frost and just himself being influenced. The sleepwalking is Frost waking up and taking control of his body to do stuff, the actual physical body changes is just because of how the seasons effect him. Throughout day to day during winter it's hard to tell if either of them are actually in control, or if they're just synced.
- The drabble is just "Martyn forgot to tell Ren during the winter he sometimes gets possessed by a winter spirit but it's fine because it just is vibing and because they share memories half the time you can't even tell it's not Martyn, they just wanted to be ominous as shit to scare Ren"
- I'd imagine the second they sit down on the train Martyn has some hot chocolate, causing Frost to dip out, and he just turns to Ren like, "Sorry, probably should've mentioned that might happen" and Ren explodes like "YEAH PROBABLY???"

“My Wonderful Experience in Discovering More of the MCYT World”
As Told By: An Utter Dumbass that Never Had a Minecraft Phase and Didn’t Get Into it Until a Year Ago
I’d like it known that only a month ago I’d never watched anything of Hermitcraft, or any of the Hermits involved. This isn’t a brag, just a fact from an oblivious dumbass that never paid attention to what was happening on that side of Gaming YouTube.
Just over a month ago, the most I’d ever watched of the non-Hermit, but hella well-known Minecrafter and Builder, Scott SMajor’s solo content were a few escape room videos, but I’d already deemed him a god in my mind from him in MCC.
Considering this fact, I want to delve into JUST how minimal my knowledge of Minecraft Builders, the Hermitcraft Crew, OG Minecrafters, etc. was:
My only knowledge of Grian was “Wilbur Soot’s skin was a recolored Grian skin” which told me that Grian must be a huge Minecrafter.
I never heard the name Mumbo Jumbo until a month ago from a random Tumblr post, then repeated when TommyInnit mentioned him on a stream and said he was “the Philza Minecraft of Men”, or something along those lines (regardless, he was saying that Mumbo was the first person he’d met that was nicer that Philza).
Immediately associated after seeing a photo of Mumbo’s skin that “oh, that’s that dude riding a donkey in that weird cinematic cutscene everyone was hyped about? …why the fuck was he on a donkey?”
The only name I knew aside from Scott SMajor and Grian on the 3rd Life SMP was LDShadowLady because while my little sister had a Minecraft phase, I did not (the Homestuck phase hit REALLY strong from ages 13-17, there was no time for Minecraft).
The only other people beside Scott and Lizzie that I knew on EmpireSMP was Joey because I grew up watching Joey’s old videos. (I actually didn’t find out Joey played Minecraft until noticing his name was in an MCC a while back!! It caught me WAYYY off guard because I think the last video I watched of his before this year was like… 4 years ago? If not more?)
When I originally got inspired to watch 3rd Life, it was due to a fanart here on Tumblr of a huge spoiler of the ending. It was Scott SMajor holding Jimmy’s body and screaming with a caption about Flower Husbands. And because I’m always for angsty gays… I went to watch it.
However,,, I did no research and didn’t even look at the tags long enough to see it tagged as “3rd Life Smp”… So I just starting watching the only MC series I’d vaguely heard of that was still currently going on involving Scott… Which was EmpireSMP.
So… I binged all of Scott’s EmpireSMP episodes from 1-17 and got really confused on why Scott and Jimmy had barely interacted???
Needless to say, I was a dumbass.
So after researching to find that same fanart and realizing my mistake… I binged all of 3rd Life in about a day’s span.
Even better was knowing NOTHING about anybody when hopping in, so when I made my liveblog reaction posts, I actually had no knowledge about who the fuck Jimmy, Scar, or anyone was prior to watching:)
Fhajkdfkf I hope that’s a fun realization for you. I genuinely had only ever seen the username SolidarityGaming in MCC’s and knew “oh, another Captain America cosplayer. he must be a huge dork /pos!”
Which I mean… I was right adhajfkf
So my attachments to Jimmy, Scar, and Grian happened all through the course pf watching that series, then watching their POVs and just adoring every bit of their personalities.
My first time watching a full Hermitcraft episode was actually Scar’s Magical Menagerie episode! (I saw a clip of him mispronouncing it and accidentally blowing it up, so I just had to watch that chaos for myself! Instantly hooked!)
And well… Then Last Life SMP started up right on time, and in my impatience for more episodes, I ended up watching everyone’s POV and getting more attached to everybody…
And now I actually do know everyone by name… And I’ve become attached to everybody’s characters in Last Life and I’d easily murder for any of them.
And now I’m officially watching Hermitcraft 8 from Mumbo’s POV and I’ll likely watch the others videos from the season later once I get further caught up!
The best part is that I genuinely know I’m at the very TIP of the iceberg of Hermit Lore and it’s been really fun just finding out more and more as I go! (Like Scar’s patronus is a firefly, which aww!! The pets they own IRL! Mumbo’s neat love of cars! Mumbo and Grian’s roadtrip! HOW REDSTONE WORKS???)
Before I started watching any of these series, the most impressive redstone contraption I’d seen was in Pandora’s Vault on DSMP (which is cool! I’m not knocking it, but just explaining!) And the only time I’d seen a hopper was from Tommy’s therapy machine.
Now I have a sudden knowledge of how redstone kind of working??? And building tips??? (I don’t know what to do with those. I don’t really play Minecraft.)
Anyway, all this is to say that it’s been a really fun journey!
It’s always so much fun falling headfirst into new fandoms blind, but it was especially fun considering that that most these builders and creators have been around for AGES! All of this content was honestly right there in front of my eyes, but I was completely blind to it???
I mean, could be due to the fact I’d never watched a Minecraft video until finding Wilbur over a year ago. (Fun Fact: My first ever Minecraft video was Wilbur’s Skyblock Randomizer Video!
(Even Funner Fact: I didn’t realize I could just watch Wilbur on Twitch for free until the L’Manburg Elections. Despite him constantly advertising it. Because I’m a dumbass.)
This concludes my ramble though!!
I just really wanted to express the fantastic experience I’ve had so far getting to delve into the wondrous world of 3rd Life, Empires, Hermitcraft, and all the creators involved!
Thanks for reading!

Not sure if this would be relevant to your au, but in 3rd life Scott often called Jimmy his husband (this even happened in MCC 14) and when he perma-died Scott built a grave for him atop a hill and stated that the yellow crown thing that was on his 2nd life skin were the result of him grieving. Also recommend watching the ending to Scott's last 3rd life ep cause in it there's a scene where Scott goes to the afterlife and it's modeled after him and Jimmy's cottagecore flower valley home and Jimmy says he spent the whole time he was waiting sprucing it up in the way he knew Scott would like since they didn't get to do it while they were both alive (T^T) btw they're also called the flower husbands!
Tumblr media
Help, I’m bawling. Also, I saw most of Scott’s third life series but not the last episode. I need to apparently speedrun that rq.

Ideas for Season 2 of 3rd Life
Happy one month anniversary of the ending of 3rd life season 1! I’ve still got the brainrot hard so please enjoy the thoughts that have been pinging around inside my brain like a DVD screensaver. In this post, I will present and defend changes I would like to see, storylines that could be used, and team-ups that I think would be entertaining.
Addition: Player Head Drops
If you watch Hermitcraft or Empires SMP, you may know of the Player Head Drops addon. For those that don’t know, it is a datapack that drops an item that is textured to look like a player’s head when that player is slain by pvp. This could add a new dimension to both roleplay and gameplay. For a morbid example, someone could mount the head of a slain enemy on a pike outside their base to warn off invaders. For more emotional impact, dead players would now have in-game remains so there’s an actual object to use when you bury your dead husband ally. For those less inclined to roleplay, the heads can be worn in the helmet armor slot and layer the texture over the player’s skin. This wouldn’t fool anyone at close range, but there is a lot of remote observation is 3rd Life. At a long distance, you can’t see a player name or its color, and in armor the only identifying feature would be the player’s head (this becomes more relevant in version 1.17 with the addition of the spyglass). Since helmets are banned, it wouldn’t be out of place to see someone heading out without headgear. Player heads could actually be used as an effective disguise. I think this change would add a fun new dimension to the game.
Plot Idea: Chosen One
In season 1, Martyn introduces the concept of some kind of divine being that is protecting and guiding him. The watchers mysterious voice seems angry that he did not win season 1, so why would they not redouble their efforts for the next try? Martyn is the chosen one, destined by the gods to be the last one standing in season 2. Ren is his head priest and they start a cult together (of course he has to team up with Ren again their dynamic is just *chef’s kiss*). I see Ren having a lot of fun with the ‘evangelizing preacher’ role. To convert people, they convince them of the concept of a shared win--if Martyn is the last one standing, everyone in the cult may consider that a victory. They could bring back Black Heart Altar and do more spooky blood sacrifices. It would also be really funny if they borrowed the ‘BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD’ meme.
A List of Potential Team-Ups
Grian and Etho: Etho is a lot more wholesome than we think. I know we were all psyched for a villian Etho arc after his tree burned, but it turns out he’s just a big softie. He constantly teased Bdubs and while he did fire missiles at the Crastle, killing was not his intention. Even when they were enemies, he never went too hard. Etho engaged in audio warfare and even says he doesn’t want Bdubs to die. He was loyal to the Red Army, but I think his heart was always with the Crastle. GRIAN, on the other hand, is a bloodthirsty gremlin who loves chaos. Scar may have guided the Sand Alliance, but Grian was the driving force. He got 5 kills while on his green life! I’m sure he would have gotten way more if he knew how to make working traps. Guess what Etho can do? These two would be a good team-up because they mutually simp respect each other and could play to each other’s strengths and weaknesses (and by that I mean Grain could lure Etho to the dark side). This would be a frightening team. Potential downsides: this may lead to Grian winning again. Counterpoint: the other players may recognize how powerful this team is and and take them out early.
Skizzleman and BdoubleO100: while these two didn’t interact much in season 1, they both have a level of voice control and manic energy that I think would play really well off each other. Could you imagine them in a yelling match? I would also add Joel to this mix, simply to encourage him to go crazy. His delivery of “THE RED KING DIES TONIGHT, FELLAS!” was in my opinion, the peak of his series, and the energy of this team could lead to more. As a counterweight, I would add Bigb to this team. He’s like a capybara; he just exudes chill. He could keep the team focused and prevent them from turning on each other. Someone has to be the responsible mom friend here.
Cleo and Scott: The Gays Star-Crossed Widows Alliance. I don’t know if these two have collaborated before, but It seems like these two get along really well. Cleo and the flower husbands had a secret alliance because they trusted each other, they had the widows alliance that never happened, and Scott even intended to put flowers on Cleo’s grave after she died. Plus, their dynamic is really fun. Imagine them running around heckling the roleplayers.
Jimmy and Scar: The Himbo Alliance. This one is kind of a joke but please just imagine this for a minute. Scar’s charisma stat is through the roof, and Jimmy is a trained MCC champion. Similar to how Scar performed in season 1, they could come off as so dumb and harmless that no one would expect them to come in from behind and sweep the competition. Honorable mention to Bdubs.
That’s all for now! I probably have more ideas but I just can’t put them into meaningful words yet. Signing off, this is a grown-ass adult who needs a hobby.

In an arresting moment in “Deluge,” a tall white dancer dressed in black tossed up a short black dancer dressed in red, accompanied by a score that included recordings of some of the most fulsome public comments by Donald Trump and other politicians (“These are animals…Pocahontas…legitimate rape…”) The dance company whose members wrote, choreographed and performed this remarkable piece is called Loco-Motion Dance Theater for Children, and they were performing as part of the 19th annual Rebel Verses Youth Arts Festival, held over the past two weeks at Vineyard Theater. Rebel Verses, an exciting and inspiring show presenting artists ages 13 to 19 from some dozen youth theater companies, was almost as impressive for what was not on stage as for what was: There were no teenage cliques, no obsession with popularity. It was not the standard depiction of teenagers in even well-meaning shows on Broadway. Those commercial high school musicals don’t gel with my memories of high school, or, more to the point, with the actual teenagers you see in the news, like the survivors of the Parkland high school shooting who organized a mass movement for gun control.
It was reassuring that the very first thing I saw at Rebel Verses was a painting of a gun by 19-year-old Nyasia Germany sardonically entitled “Back to School,” in the lobby of the Vineyard Theater, where the show was held.
“That’s one of the main reasons we started Rebel Verses,” Jinn Kim, the executive director of Developing Artists, which organizes the festival, said to me after I told her of my disappointment with the mainstream shows about teenagers. “We wanted to let the audience know that these teen artists are to be taken seriously and they need to be heard.”
The dancers, painters, actors, poets, rappers, and spoken word artists of Rebel Verses define themselves. In “The Spectacular,” a piece developed by the combined Developing Artists and Vineyard Student Ensemble, they declare:
We are Nike wearing Trump hating Open-minded Queer supporting Prom slaying Immigrant welcoming …. Fast food inhaling … Life saving Next Generation

Later: Isabel Culpepper: I could get shot up in school Timothy Kim: well I could get shot up outside Elijah Smith: well I could get shot up for being alive, Bryson Brunson: I’m young and I’m black and don’t have health insurance All: Bruh, none of us have health insurance
I saw the second week’s program, which included performances by some half-dozen of the companies, introduced by the host of the evening, Sean Carvajal (King Lear on Broadway, Jesus Hopped the A Train)
Besides Loco-Motion, Developing Artsts and Vineyard Theatre Student Ensemble, these included:
Alumni Theater Company of Pittsburgh, which presented a combination live and video welcome, the most thrillingly choreographed “turn off your cell phone” announcement I’ve ever witnessed.
Poetesses, a group from Jersey City, N.J. presenting three poems collectively entitled Hot Girl Summer.  Layla Ferreiro’s is astonishing. It begins:
The Hudson River is Latina. That is, she’s brown. She is not going to speak English to make you more comfortable If you call her ”spic,” she will drown you There’s a reason red sunrise reflects so perfectly on her. She sways her way over to Lady Libertad, Who’s as green as the palm trees de su tierra now
It ends:
The Hudson River is Latina and she forgives you. Every time a marathon makes its way across her skin, When she tastes rainbow glitter in June, When one boat holds more languages than she can speak, She forgives you. So she rocks you to sleep on the ferry Hides with you when the hurricane comes She’s been here much longer than you. She knows you will make mistakes. She just asks that you don’t make them twice Or else she’ll play bachata on saturday morning and make you clean that shit up. Sometimes she loves you too much for her own good But the Hudson River is Latina, And we stick together.
MCC Youth Company presenting “Uncensored Glimpse,” a series of sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant sketches and spoken-word pieces. In “Inside the Closet,” the characters Shame, Anxiety and Sadness battle with Love for control of “the mind of Jared, a gay boy that’s in the closet.” Rage makes a late entry, and in the finale, Pride makes an entrance: “I couldn’t resist coming out!”
In “The Caterpillar’s Tirade,” Gerald Jeter cleverly melds the life of a student/performer with that of a bug: “I have forgotten just how to crawl, inch, creep and worm But I’ll be damned if I don’t let it burn and show everyone just how bright I can be ….I’m sick of being the caterpillar, and I’m sick of sitting in this cocoon.”
Girl Be Heard of New York City, presenting “Tough Women,” with powerful, rhythmic monologues.
The program ended with “guest artist” Brandon Victor Dixon (Hamilton, Rent Live) singing his own song “Today It’s Possible”
Today it’s possible Whatever’s happening in your life Tonight could make it right …Despite your pain and your cries The time has come for you to rise
“I think it’s an incredible program,” Dixon said afterwards.
Rebel Verses. Teenagers on Stage, Not Mean, Not Chill, Just Real. In an arresting moment in “Deluge,” a tall white dancer dressed in black tossed up a short black dancer dressed in red, accompanied by a score that included recordings of some of the most fulsome public comments by Donald Trump and other politicians (“These are animals…Pocahontas…legitimate rape…”)

Hannah Murray, star of Game of Thrones and Skins to lead an all-female cast in a thrilling new production of Posh. Press night is Monday 3 April at 7.30pm.
OLD MONEY. NEW PROBLEMS. DIFFERENT GENDER. Hannah Murray (Skins, Game of Thrones, Untitled Detroit Project) is to lead the cast for the world premiere of an all-female version of Posh. Full casting for the production has been announced today.
This thrilling new production, which will run at London’s Pleasance Theatre from 29th March, gives Laura Wade’s play a new, topical voice by allowing women to take centre stage in roles originally written for men. The production will be directed by Off West End Award winner Cressida Carré.
Darkly comic, and disgracefully entertaining, Laura Wade’s universally acclaimed Posh, burst to life at the Royal Court theatre in 2010 with a cast that featured future stars Kit Harrington and James Norton, before transferring to the West End. Receiving a fanfare of plaudits, Posh became a huge hit with critics and audience alike.
Now the riotous story of Oxford student dining club, a fictionalised version of the infamous Bullingdon Club, will be reinvented for the first time by a company of all-female actors.
In the private dining room of a gastro pub, 10 young bloods with cut-glass vowels and deep pockets are meeting, intent on restoring their right to rule. As members of an elite student dining society, they’re bunkering down for a wild night of debauchery, decadence and bloody good wine.
This thrilling new production has a topical voice. However, this isn’t just a jolly: these women are planning a revolution. Welcome to the Riot Club.
Posh was long-listed as Best New Play in the Evening Standard Awards and nominated Best New Play in the Whatsonstage Awards. It was filmed in 2014 for cinema release as The Riot Club, directed by Lone Scherfig and starring Max Irons, Sam Claflin, Freddie Fox and Douglas Booth.
Hannah Murray, named Best Actress at the Tribeca Film Festival for her portrayal of ‘Sara’ in the Danish film Bridgend, was last seen on stage in London in Martine at the Finborough Theatre, for which she was nominated ‘Best Female Performance’ at the Off West End Awards. Hannah made her West End debut in Polly Stenham’s That Face at the Royal Court and her breakthrough role was playing ‘Cassie’ in E4’s cult series Skins, before going on to star in features Chatroom, God Help The Girl, Lily and Kat and The Chosen. She will next be seen reprising the role of ‘Gilly’ in the final series of HBO/SKY series Game of Thrones and in August she will take on one of the lead roles in Katherine Bigelow’s Untitled Detroit Project, set in 1967, about one of the largest citizen uprisings in the United States’ history.
Hannah Murray said: “I am so excited to be a part of this production, it’s a fascinating opportunity to explore and investigate the nature of privilege – a topic I feel there is an increasing urgency to examine and discuss. Working with an all-female ensemble cast is a brilliant opportunity to collaborate with a fantastic company of talented women, which is not something that happens often enough.”
The rest of the cast features Lucy Aarden (Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, 1st Witch, Macbeth, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Greenwich Theatre); Cassie Bradley (at the National Theatre, Husbands and Sons and Nurse in Sam Mendes’ King Lear); Alice Brittain (Trevor Nunn’s The War of the Roses at the Rose, Kingston); Molly Hanson (Hermia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Windsor); Verity Kirk (Cate in Sarah Kane’s Blasted at STYX); Macy Nyman (Wendy in Peter Pan, Exeter Northcott), Toni Peach (Beetles From The West, Barbican Theatre, Plymouth; Jessica Siân (White Lead at Hampstead Theatre); Sarah Thom (Tom Hardy’s Taboo, Bette Davis in Bette & Joan – The Final Curtain, St James Theatre); Gabby Wong (West End includes understudied and played Mephistopheles in Doctor Fautus at the Duke of York’s, and for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Volpone,The Jew of Malta, Love’s Sacrifice. She was Gold Nine in the Star Wars film Rogue One); Amani Zardoe (has just finished filming Victoria & Abdul with Judi Dench. She is also filming Will for TNT. Her stage roles include The Spoils at Trafalgar 1 and Measure for Measure at Shakespeare’s Globe).
Creative team: Director Cressida Carré Set & Costume Designer Sara Perks Co-Costume Designer Sarah Mills Lighting Designer Derek Anderson Sound Designer Harry Barker Producer Tom Harrop for Can’t Think Theatre Company
Cressida Carré (Director) Cressida won the Off West End Award for Best Choreography for the UK premiere of Titanic. The production opened at Southwark Playhouse, transferred to Toronto, Canada and was then restaged at Charing Cross Theatre. As a director, her other work includes: Avenue Q (UK tour 2014/15/16 & Hong Kong), Spear (Courtyard Theatre Hereford), The Lost Christmas (Trafalgar Studios), Betwixt (Edinburgh Festival), Marry Me A Little (Etcetera Theatre).
Cressida Carré said: “I am so looking forward to exploring the play with this fantastic all-female cast. We are in a very exciting time in theatre where existing works are being turned on their head giving us so much more potential to play with and the reinvention of many are opening up our perceptions in so many ways. Gender equality, privilege and class are certainly topics which are prevalent today and it will be exciting to see what happens when these historically male characters are played by women.”
Laura Wade (Writer) Laura Wade’s plays include Posh (Royal Court Theatre and West End), Tipping the Velvet (Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith), Alice (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield), Kreutzer vs. Kreutzer (Globe Theatre, Sydney Opera House and Australian tour), Other Hands (Soho Theatre), Colder Than Here (Soho Theatre and MCC Theatre New York), Breathing Corpses (Royal Court Theatre), Catch (Royal Court Theatre, written with four other playwrights), Young Emma (Finborough Theatre), 16 Winters (Bristol Old Vic Basement) and Limbo (Crucible Studio Theatre, Sheffield). Films include The Riot Club. Laura Wade trained with the Royal Court Theatre’s Young Writers Programme in London, and was a Writer on Attachment at Soho Theatre. Awards include the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright, the Pearson Best Play Award and the George Devine Award. Laura Wade’s plays have been performed in the UK, USA, Australia, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands and Mexico.
Laura Wade said: “It’s always interesting to see a new cast take on Posh, but it’ll be fascinating to see what light an all-female company can throw on the play’s world of power and privilege. I’m often asked what Posh would have been like if there were women in the Riot Club instead of men. Perhaps now I get to find out.”
