hello d! nice ask week question for you - as a new member of the fandom, how did you come across 911ls? also, what inspired you to start writing fic? what's your favourite thing about writing fic and the thing you find most challenging? 💜

How did you come across 911 LS: Answered here 😀

What inspired you to start writing fic: Well first off the last time I had written fanfic was when I was like 15 writing about (redacted) 🤫 It was only a couple fics and definitely nothing good 😂 thankfully I had the sense to delete them from existence all those years ago 😅 I’ve written other things since then but not fanfic. Hence why I was so nervous to share my first bits of Tarlos writing. Now as for starting to write Tarlos: My inspiration was just the show and TK and Carlos themselves. Their story is just so beautiful, and I really connected with aspects of each of their characters. And then just reading fic again in general is inspiring me. So many talented people crafting their own stories and it just makes me eager to join the fun and contribute. I have a need to put them in even more situations 😂 I’ve been finding inspiration pretty easily at the moment. The way my brain works, I hear a lyric or see a random picture, anything as simple as that and I’m brimming with ideas. My number one thing I found inspiration in is literally just words. I’ll be reading a fic and someone uses the word ‘savour’ or ‘speechless’ and bam I’m thinking and I have to exit the fic tab and go start writing before I lose my idea. A few WIPs started from something as random as that. As an example the colleagues AU I’m working on all started from twos things: Someone [that may or may not be you and Rae] using the word ‘professional’ in their fic, which of course made me think of TK saying the words ‘what we did this morning was very unprofessional’ in that 2x04 scene. I went hmm professional? = work = colleagues = hookup in the office and so forth 😂 I now have 2 separate office based WIPs in the works because some of the scenes I’m writing aren’t working with the current plot so they’ve been shifted into a new doc haha. But I’m serious. Other writers are the reason I’m even attempting fic again no rules in breakable heaven by @strandnreyes and un(professional) services by yourself and @rmd-writes got my brain ticking and really gave me a kick up the butt to actually try write anything even half as good as those💗💗💗

What’s your favourite thing about writing fic: The strories you get to explore. Getting to have fun with the characters we know and love. Being able to expand on scenes and missing moments in canon, and weave my own intricate story whilst still making it feel faithful to them. Thinking up an AU and put them in whatever environment I feel like, I am really loving it atm. When I actually have the time to write anyway, because I certainly have not this week 😅

What you find the most challenging about writing fic: Sort of mentioned above because it’s a favourite and also challenging. But when crafting my own story, specifically an AU, trying to make them feel authentic to the characters we see on the show. Whilst also being fully fleshed characters in their own right in the little universe I’ve created. It’s got me like ‘would he say that? would he think that? would he do that?’ even in this made up scenario. And if there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s overthink 😂

I got less than 6 minutes into 911 Lone Star season 2 episode 4 and I rage quit. I am too angry to articulate my thoughts right now but I have never been this deeply pissed off at a show.

summary: Essentially this is TK expressing to his parents how he feels about them taking a conversation that was meant to be about helping him and turning it into an argument between them. Also focuses on TK’s feelings around his argument with Carlos and some supportive Paul because i just love Paul & TK friendship

TK leaned on the counter, trying to work out what the hell his parents were talking about. His hands wrapped tighter around the mug hoping the warmth would make everything better, it didn’t.

TK squeezed his eyes shut, partly to try and take in the information his parents had given him and partly because his eyes felt heavy. After getting back from Carlos’s last night TK had laid awake in his bed staring at the ceiling, thinking how he preferred Carlos’s bed, his sheets, how he preferred lying next to Carlos, it didn’t take TK long to realise he preferred everything about being with Carlos.

He thought about calling his boyfriend a few times but froze each time. What was he meant to say? The ache in his chest since he had heard Carlos call him his friend still loomed and the guilt and shame of his parting remarks still hung heavy in TK’s mind, I made some more room in your closet, TK felt sick as he played the words over in his mind. He had just been so angry, so hurt.

He needed to fix it, but he didn’t know how. Since being together, this was their first real fight, and TK was frozen by the fear that he might ruin it beyond damage.

“So your saying I need to be gentler?” He asked his father, his brows scrunched together. TK had definitely not been gentle with his approach to Carlos, he was just so angry, the kind of anger that was bread of fear and completely took over his mind.

Owen just stared at the table, seemingly somewhere else “What…” he said looking back up at TK, “I don’t think I said that,” He said, shaking his head.

TK sighed, biting his lip, he was lost, completely lost. “Okay, so I need to be more decisive? Assertive?” He asked, turning to face his mother, hoping to find some wisdom or advice there but her eyes were fixated on Owen, one brow raised.

“Apparently that is not the way to go,” She said, her eyes swarming with frustration.

TK looked between his parents, noticing how tense they were. Their eyes were locked like they were waiting for the other one to say something. TK frowned, they clearly didn’t agree on what TK should do but-TK looked at them again, the realisation hitting him like a bullet in the chest; his father saying years instead of months, their complete lack of agreement.

TK scoffed, shaking his head as he pushed himself off the table, “Oh my god.” He said, a sarcastic laugh escaping his lips, “You’re not even listening” His hands gripping the ledge of the island.
