everytime i see ling tongs dw9 design i feel like i won in the lottery cuz his design is so good i love it so much. long rant cringe incoming

it has dw5 vibes but more evolved and the colors go so hard too... and i like how its slimmer overall which fits his weapon (much more than 8 fit the 3 section staff, i love that outfit too cuz it looks so cozy and warm and hes toasty in his scarf and sweater paws. but it doesnt fit his move set using his legs it feels too bulky for that like getting in the way?) the other outfit i didnt like much (the colors clash so much like the pink green purple and dark blue? :/ bad palette) but then the samurai armor dlc was so good (and matching with gan nings which added 3 more years to my life. like when i saw the list before the release i was pogging when i saw that they both have a different description from others but same between each another)

i was so worried before the dw9 design reveals cuz theres always some letdowns and i was fully bracing for them to cut his hair short or come up with something not fitting him like the dw7 draft.. but those madmen made his hair twice as long i was winning and the outfit was an instant fave like my most fav was 8 then i just immediately pushed it aside. make room for 9 this is the best

i wonder what they cook up for 10 if its coming, if and when its coming..., i hope they introduce alternates/dlc too cuz more designs more fun.. i just dont know what they could do next so im just gonna hope it wont be shite but like i think i would live if they changed up his hair but its like some characters can go thru big changes but others have a more singular look so its just about lenght here. his ponytail is so cute i want them to keep it 😭 i also think if they changed his weapon they would probably be inclined to go with the armor-y look they drafted before which doesnt fit much imo, id rather have something similar to the current design but maybe with wider sleeves thats cute, and fingerless gloves!!!! please. and the long hair with middle part or side part im praying 🙏🧎

also i gotta mention gan ning here cuz he went thru a few hairstyles and i gotta say it was also a letdown that while they just reused his dw8 hair for 9, they cut off his mullet! which is my most fave thing! especially how its slightly darker at the longest part.. like man... cant have shit in the three kingdoms (i joke that what they cut off they gave to ling tong [insert after surgery meme wheres gan ning? who do you think gave you the extra hair])

but like for him idc what color or style they do, like surprise me but give him a mullet its funney and give him earrings/piercings and more bells. thats my base in the pyramid of needs like idk why they went with just one bell in the final design since the drafts had more (and also a really cool hairstyle) also remove the stupidass feathers (its nice in 8 kinda cuz more subtle and still keeps the feathers included somehow but i also loved how they just pinned them to his butt in 7 and also how over the top it was in 6 though those are like rooster feathers not goose lmaobut also idk where i read about him being connected to crows so its nice theyre black. also thinking about how one artist used to just draw him without them. boss move. and how sometimes they dont load in 9 in game like the console also hates them lmao)

*designs a whole ass region too*

Where Seas Meet Skies is an experimental model of iterator, built vertically over the remains of an old void fluid rig. More a conventional can than an iterator can, curved sides resist strong coastal winds. It's fairly short compared to other cans, a] it's mostly underground and b] WSMS was built before the Rain became lethal. In fact he is one of the few iterators whose can actually gets rained on!

The entire superstructure is named the Ascending Spire, and is separated into ten tiers. More about each tier, and WSMS's neighboring subregions below the cut ⬇️

Horizon is the name of the ancient city atop the Spire. A domed roof was built to protect it from Rain. Only the rich and powerful could afford to live here, and it was mostly municipal and political buildings.

Tier 10 is a residential district, along with Tier 9. Within the centre of Tier 10 lies WSMS's chamber and general systems bus. Tier 9 hosts most of his other processing systems, with the power sources in the lower tiers.

Tier 8 is an agricultural district, supporting the Spire's residents. Most of the vegetation is grown via hydroponics to mske the most out of the limited space. Tier 8 also hosts the Bridge, connecting the Spire to the gate on the mainland.

Tier 7 resides at water level and serves as the industrial district. Most of the Spire's engineers and maintenance workers lived here for quick access to the facilities below. On the outside a small harbor is built around Tier 7, and naturally, Tier 7 hosts an aquaculture industry.

Tier 6 holds the Archives, a sacred place for worship and a library of living memory stores for those who passed on: via death or ascension.

Tier 5 was the original residency for engineers and industrial workers. However when the Rain caused the sea level to rise, poor structural integrity led the outer wall of glass to shatter and flood the inside, leading Tier 5 to be named The Sunken City. All access points to Tier 5 from within the Spire are locked shut, from both the Spire itself and the outside water pressure.

Tier 4 is the first of the iterator's inner processes, and is where intake vents gain water to cool WSMS's systems. The intakes are located higher in the water column, for deeper where the void sea meets the ocean, geothermal energy heats the water too high to be a useful coolant.

Tier 3 is a hydroelectric plant, reusing the water from the cooling systems to generate power. Iterators don't really use "batteries" so these generators were mainly used to power the inhabited tiers rather than WSMS himself.

WSMS doesn't produce Rain unlike other iterators, instead releasing the heated water into the deep ocean at Tier 2, or the aptly named Boiling Trench. Heat pollution has rendered the surrounding waters almost devoid of life.

The Distillery is based on the remnants of an old void fluid extraction hub that were incorporated directly into the Spire for ease of access. It sources directly from the Void Fissure, an opening in the ocean floor leading directly to the void sea.

Adjacent to the Distillery are the old Mines that predate the iterator era. Before the fissure was discovered the ancients dug into underground void fluid aquifers. When the sea rose, the initial entrances became flooded, but an access tunnel still connects the Mines to the Distillery.

A Very Important Tier List of How Good Cosmere Names Would Be in Scrabble

If you were allowed to use fictional proper names in Scrabble, then how good would it be to use various Cosmere names? This is obviously an important question, which I shall answer today using a tier list, from worst to best.

[If you're not familiar with Scrabble, it's a game where you get 7 letters and try to make words on the gameboard. Each letter has an assigned score from 0 to 10. You get all the points of all the letters in your word, plus you get to double count any letters used in multiple words.]

So let's get to the tier-list!

F-Tier: Names That Are (Virtually) Too Long for Scrabble

Some Cosmere names do not work well at all by virtue of being, well, basically impossible to use in Scrabble. "Jadendwyl" (Sazed's friend) is 9 letters, for example, so unless you got very lucky with someone else playing "end" in exactly the right spot, you're pretty much out of luck. You only have 7 letters to work with, after all. Other names in this same category include: "Hamaradin," "Peaceyearning," "Harkaylain." Just too long!

E-Tier: Short, Low-Scoring Names

The second worst would be names that are short and use letters that are just one point each. "Lirin"? Only 5 points. "Siri"? Only 4 points. Moash's grandma "Ana"? Only 3 points.

You're only playing these if you're desperate, or if you've trying to, like, play off of someone else's Z or something.

D-Tier: Longer but Still Low-Scoring Names

"Adolin" may look like a nice, long word--but it's only 6 letters, and only the "D" is worth more than one. You're plunking down that bad boy and getting like 7 points for your trouble. Same issue with other 6-letter names like "Oroden." They're just not very good.

C-Tier: At Least One Letter Is Pretty Good

Playing "Shallan" would be pretty good, 'cause that "H" is four points AND pretty easy to get double-counted. Same goes for "Hoid" or "Hav" or "Hrathen." "Y" is also worth 4 and easy to double, so "Yalb" or "Ym" are your friends too. "Wayne" has two four-point letters, W and Y, so that's pretty good--"Leshwi" too. "Kelsier" has the 5-point K, but there aren't any two-letter words with K, so oddly he's probably slightly worse "Hoid" would be.

...I hope I haven't started something here.

B-Tier: Contains one of the GREAT Letters

If you can get a "Q" or a "Z" in your word, then that's a cool 10 points right there--at least 20 if you can get them going both ways. So "Zane" or "Szeth" or "Azure" or "Breeze" or "Lezian" are great options. "X" and "J" are 8 points and easy to play both ways, so "Wax" and "Jasnah" and "Demoux" are great too.

A-Tier: Seven-Letter Words

If you play a 7-letter word in Scrabble, then you get a bonus 50 points on top of whatever you score with the word! There are a lot of 7-letter names too. "Kaladin," of course, reaching the top as always. Also good are "Dalinar," "Renarin," "Pattern," "Elhokar," "OreSeur," "Aesudan"... There are actually tons of these!

S-Tier: Seven-Letter Words Containing one of the GREAT Letters

But you know what would be the best Scrabble word? We'd need a 7-letter name that also contains a Q or a Z. And there is one--one name that is by far the best Cosmere Scrabble play ever.

Zellion.

MY PERSONAL STARKID MUSICAL TIERLIST

(disclaimer: these are MY opinions. this is in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM meant to be DISRESPECTFUL or HATEFUL of other's opinions. i AM leaving out a VHS christmas carol as i have yet to see it)

13 -A Very Potter Senior Year

ok ok, i get it. it's part of the potter trilogy of starkid. something about it, however, just didn't make it stand out. it isn't at the bottom because i didn't like it, it's down here because i didn't like it AS MUCH as the others.

12 -A Very Potter Sequal

once again; a good fucking musical, just didn't stand out as much as others did to me.

11 - Ani

this musical was funny as hell and i'm always a sucker for shows that nick lang acts in. however, while i know that it's a parody plot, i never could be interested in star wars, no matter how hard i tried. while it was funny, and i found it to be interesting, i didn't laugh as hard as some people because i didn't understand some of the jokes made about the show. this musical is placed at 11th purely because i cannot physically or mentally bring myself to enjoy the star wars franchise.

10 -Firebringer

i love the characters, i love some of the jokes, i love some of the songs. that being said, i feel like this musical was one of the lesser entertaining of the starkid musicals. there were so many things going on that it was hard to understand everything. that being said, the SOLE reason i placed this one above Ani is the line "fuck no, zazz" being a response to zazzalil flirting with clark up at the keyboard.

9 -Twisted

the plot, characters, songs, and HOLY SHIT DYLAN SAUNDERS AS JA'FAR WAS NOT SOMETHING I KNEW THAT I NEEDED. the entire musical was SO GOOD. the only reason this musical is placed at 9th is because i HAVE to place my personal favorites higher.

8 -A Very Potter Musical

while i placed the other two of the potter trilogy at the bottom of the list, avpm is a strong 8th place here. joey richter as ron, lauren lopez as draco, and quirrelmort (along with the entirety of the rest of the show, these were just my favorite parts) all made this musical amazing. a timeless piece.

7 - Me and My Dick

mamd is an interesting one to rank. i didn't really know where to put it, but i stand firm that it's 7th here. the music, the characters, everything. it's a timeless piece that show the absolute talent starkid had even back at the beginning of the company.

6 -Trail To Oregon!

tto was one of my first introductions to starkid. it was definitely one of the most funny in my opinion. i think the song that placed it so high was 'Independence!' purely because of joey (shh no one can tell who my favorite starkid is, it's fine). once again, not placed higher only because my top five CANNOT be beat.

5 -Holy Musical, B@man!

this one is very similar to Ani. i had no clue of the plot, i'm not into the superhero shows. HOWEVER the characters and songs were more captivating, and i think it was funnier (still also a sucker for shows nick lang acts in)

4 -The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals

it was a difficult pick between this one and the next, but i had to place number 4 where it is. tgwdlm was my FIRST introduction to starkid. the music is great, jon matteson slayed (as he always does), ted made me love the spankoffski's before i knew who they were, and the whole show was amazing. once again, only not placed higher because my top 3 cannot be matched.

3 -Black Friday

HOLY SHIT. angela as lex, kendall as hannah and tim, dylan as tom, lauren as linda, JON AS WIGGLY WTF I LOVED THIS MUSICAL SO MUCH HOLY SHIT.

2 -Starship

this one may get me in hot water, but i'm not afraid of controversy if it means i get to be correct. NOT ONLY is JOEY the protagonist, he has kick ass songs, nick lang acts, joe walker as up, krayonder, JUNIOR. THIS MUSICAL IS TOP TIER AND I WILL FIGHT FOR THAT.

you all know i had to do it. joey as peter spankoffski, mariah as stephanie lauter, ANGELA AS GRACE, THE SUMMONING WTF, will made the PERFECT max, the ENTIRE THING WAS SO GOOD WTF I LOVED ALL OF IT.

Celebrating 15 years of Team Starkid with my (current) ranking of all of their shows and brief thoughts on them.

VHS Christmas Carol

I don't know how this became my favorite. The music is top tier, I've liked every version of it.

I was initially nervous to watch it because I wasn't sold on the original format, but it grew on me.

Also it's the second best adaptation of A Christmas Carol (the best is still the Muppet Christmas Carol)

2. A Very Potter Musical

My first ever Starkid show.

I watched it with my sister on our very old computer. I was in maybe 6th grade and had become quite obsessed with musicals and Harry Potter, so it perfectly combined my interests.

I truly was not totally sold on it just because 6th grade me was not prepared for all the cursing and the dirty jokes (6th grade me was a very different person) but Granger Danger fully hooked me

I still hold that Granger Danger is the best Starkid song, i do not care that it gets (over)played all the time. I also love that they keep having to come up with new ways to perform it (my favorite/the best being the LeakyCon one with Meredith directing the rest of the cast who only half-remember it)

Definitely ranks high just because it was the first and nostalgically I love it so much

3. Trail to Oregon

It's so fun as a concept and one of the few shows I like that really uses audience participation and makes it work.

Joey credited as "Everyone Else" and every shot with Clark in the background

I like the smaller cast, it's such a feat to run a show like that with 6 cast members

4. A Very Potter Sequel

it's ranked 4th but it probably actually ties with Trail to Oregon

I watched it after AVPM (so my second starkid show) and it did not disappoint

I do think it is stronger than AVMP for most of it

5. Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier

Definitely my favorite parody they've done. There's a great video that breaks down why it works so well: they've nailed the style.

Around the same time I first watched Twisted was also around my Wicked phase so that helped a lot.

Dylan Saunders knocks out it out of the park as Ja'far, he puts so much depth into the role. It works as an actor and for the part and helps a lot of the humor since Ja'far is the straight man of the show.

The entire soundtrack slaps including the bonus demos

6. Nerdy Prudes Must Die

The songs are great

The production value on their shows has gone up exponentially, and they make good use of it. The effects are so so good

I've never been more uncomfortable as when the words "dirty girl soup" were first said

7. Black Friday

probably tied with NPMD but

I think plot-wise it is better than NPMD, and overall so are the songs. I think maybe the live version that's on youtube is what makes it slightly below NPMD because everyone was sick so it sounds very different between the live and recorded.

I think it has some of the most memorable songs

the return of Dylan Saunders and his lovely ballads

Take Me Back is a top tier love song for Starkid

8. Starship

Probably the 3rd Starkid show I saw

Joey Richter absolutely sells the performance (he's not carrying it because the whole cast is great) and is fantastic as the lead

9. Holy Musical B@tman

my previous exposure to Batman at this point had been the 60s Adam West TV show so really this is like the spiritual successor of that, so honestly i was totally unfazed by the number of puns, I just assumed that was how Batman media was

Jeff Blim as Sweet Tooth is great, but I also love Joey Richter's in the Apocalyptour

"you got my hopes up so high, then mugged and shot them in an alleyway!" i quote an unreasonable amount

10. The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals

tbh I did not super like the show when I first watched it but it grew on me overtime. I think i really started to enjoy it when I went back to watch it after they announced Black Friday was going to be a sequel

11. A Very Potter Senior Year

it's so long guys

I think Joey Richter is the best part of it, Sidekick was fantastic

i do love that they got basically everyone they could to come back and do it

most of the callbacks work really well and make it fun

12. Ani: A Parody

fully gonna admit I haven't seen the full show itself, but I do really like the music

it is truly in the Star Wars spirit

13. Firebringer

I really wish I liked this show more, I think it's a fun concept and overall was fun

Top 12 Ghosts of Christmas Yet to Come

It’s funny how Christmas Eve sees us covering arguably the scariest and most unnerving of the Three Spirits of Christmas, at the end of our journey through some of the side players for Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The irony is almost hilarious. I speak, of course, of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, a.k.a. The Ghost of Christmas Future. The Third Spirit is interesting in that he’s arguably the most well-remembered and exciting of the three ghosts: he’s the dark and brooding payoff on Scrooge’s journey, and getting through his section of the tale - the most gut-wrenching chapter of the entire story - is a challenge for the audience, especially for younger viewers or readers. While the black cloak the Ghost wears in the book symbolizes the shadow mystery of the future - emphasized by the fact the Spirit never speaks, and only the tiniest gestures and nuances give away any indication of its thoughts or feelings - it has never been lost on anyone that the visual representation very closely resembles the iconography of the Grim Reaper. What’s interesting about the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come is that they have honestly changed the least out of all three Ghosts in how they’ve been visually represented over the years. While there have been some minor changes here and there, most versions of the character stick with the same visual basics of a dark figure in a black hooded robe, with only their hands - or even just one hand - visible. Yet, at the same time, along with Christmas Past, the Spirit of the Future is one that artistic people LOVE to toy with in various ways, from more simplistic to more wild concepts, which creates a sort of paradox. You can always tell which Spirit is meant to be the Future in every good take on the Carol, but it’s always fun to see the little additions and changes each rendition brings to the table. There’s not much more to say (fitting for a typically mute character), so let’s just jump right in: in honor of Christmas Eve (still ironically), these are My Top 12 Favorite Portryals of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come!

12. Charlie B. Barkin, from An All Dogs Christmas Carol. (Purely for the sheer INSANITY of this one. That, and the song he gets is catchy…yes, he sings. I told you it was insane.)

11. Czeslaw Konarski, from Scrooge (1951). (While simplicity can be used to great effect, I feel this one is a little TOO simple, hence why he takes a lower tier. But he’s still quite impactful.)

Kazuscara OTP tickle questions

So I saw the OTP tk ask game going around again, and I know this technically isn't how you're supposed to do it but I am. Brainrotting. About these two sO BADLY I HAD TO GET THIS OUT before I disappear back into the void lmao

1. Who has the cutest tickle laugh? Kazuha! His laugh and giggles are so airy and just the right amount of raspy uGH I wanna hear him laugh all day...

Wanderer's laugh is really cute too but man's screaming half of the time. Tho one thing that makes him almost cuter than Zuzu is that he starts hiccupping if you tickle him long enough~

2. Who is ticklish in unusual places and where would that be? I'm not saying that neck is an unusual spot, but I think Wanderer's made_in_Inazuma mark is ridiculously sensitive-- if Wanderer is acting bratty in public, Zuzu just uses his vision to make a gentle breeze brush against the spot and Wanderer stops whatever he's doing as if he slammed into a wall and turns to pout at the other sdfghfh But also when they're alone Kazuha LOVES peppering it with tiny kisses and Wanderer is in stitchessss hehe

3. Who gets cheer-up tickles? Wanderer 100% and it's so effective and he's sO GRUMPY ABOUT IT like my god he wants to be mad about it bc it doesn't fit his ✨️mean aesthetics✨️ but he can't help but just giggle and feel like his head is getting all fuzzy n happy when Zuzu scoops him up and gently tickles him all over until he's feeling better again

4. Who takes advantage of the other one getting their arms stuck while taking off their shirt? B o t h, but Wanderer definitely learned from Kazuha ahah. And they both wear so many layers that it's a weekly occurrence and at this point they're so used to both of them taking advantage of it that they just automatically start to panic a little when they realize they're stuck, so if the other hadn't noticed it on their own they sure would now sdfghj

5. How did they discover each other’s ticklishness? Wanderer was probably breaking records being annoying and buzzing around Kazu's head, provoking him in one way or another and he just got fed up and grabbed his ankle to pull him down, but to both of their surprise Wanderer fell out of the air on his very own accord (accompanied with an adorably uncharacteristic squeak, I might add) bc the feeling startled him so much lmao and Zuzu did NOT leave him be until he admitted he was ticklish (I think y'all can imagine how Kazuha coaxed that out of him~)

And afterwards Wanderer tried to tease it out of Kazuha too but he just straight up admitted with a chuckle that "ofc I'm ticklish" and Wanderer could Not wrap his head around how he wasn't even slightly embarrassed about it lmao

6. Who can’t take tickle bites? Kazuha oh my gosh, he melts in seconds. I also think that Wanderer's teeth are a bit sharper than normal so his nibbles are DEADLY. And he knows that.

7. Who has to be tickle-forced out of bed in the morning? Hmm, neither has trouble in the morning, but I think Wanderer has to be tickled INTO bed sometimes. Sure, he technically doesn't need sleep but Zuzu wants to cuddle at night and if Wanderer's being difficult about it (which he usually isn't bc Kazuha's cuddles are god tier) he just gets dragged to bed, locked into a hug and tickled until he gets tired enough to actually fall asleep himself too hehe

8. Who gives up in a tickle fight? Wanderer, the feeling still catches him off guard quite a bit, especially when it goes on for a while since tickling has been introduced to him quite recently, so if you manage to pin him down he's done~

But once he gets a bit more used to it he'll be a dangerous opponent for sure///

9. Who is in danger of getting hurt when attacking the other? Kazu, Wanderer f l a i l s. Not a single limb is left unused in his attempts of breaking free if you tickle him hard enough He'll still pout if you stop too soon tho

10. Who always provokes the other into tickling them and how? Wanderer~ His brattiness goes up a notch and he seems to find something to playfully bicker about over everything, and it all is accompanied with a faint blush (that he will deny to the end of time) and an occasional glance at Zuzu's hands. So subtle~

But Kazuha also somehow manages to provoke him into GETTING tickled from time to time. Don't ask him how, Wanderer has no goddamn idea but it just. Keeps. Happening.

Memories

Summary: After a 3-year long, on-and-off relationship, he decided he couldn't do it anymore and ended it leaving you heartbroken. 6 months after, when you're finally over him and living your life, he forces his way back into your life.

Warnings: Angst, Pathetic!Spencer, (bad writing + spelling mistakes)

Its been couple months That's just about enough time For me to stop crying when I look at all the pictures Now I kind of smile, I haven't felt that in a while

6 months, 16 days, 5 hours, and 23 minutes had passed since your breakup with Spencer, since you have seen him at all. It took you 6 months, 16 days, 5 hours, and 23 minutes for you to finally be able to look at the photobook containing all the polaroid pictures you took through the entirety of your 3-year relationship, without shedding a single tear, instead a small smile tattooing itself on your face as you flipped through the pages reminiscing all the memories, mostly good than bad, that displayed itself in the book.

The time you had tried to make brownies, only for Spencer to decide that it was a good idea to use an electric whisk on the highest speed possible to mix the dry ingredients, and being shocked when he ended up covered in a mixture of cocoa powder and flour. You had burst into a fit of giggles as you took the polaroid camera and took a quick shot of him staring at you incredulously, both hands up in the air, with one holding the electric whisk; you had vowed then to never let him forget that.

You stared at the polaroid with him holding up the 1 tiered vanilla cake he had made for your birthday, completely drenched in glace icing, “it’ll cover the ugliness of the cake, and it'll make it taste so much better” he had assured you.

You assured him back, “it'll taste great no matter what.” which you had instantly regretted as you took a bite of the slice he had presented you, the polaroid next to the first one, showcasing your reaction as you realised that what you were tasting was the dreadful flavour of egg.

Spencer furrowed his eyebrows at your reaction, cutting himself a slice and taking a big bite from it. His eyes widened as he realised the mistake he had made earlier, a sheepish smile creeping up on his face as he scratched the back of his neck, “I halved the recipe and forgot to half the eggs, so instead of 4 eggs, I put in 8 eggs” he admitted, causing you to laugh, as you placed the slice of cake, well omelette at his point, down and placed your arms around his waist, hugging him tightly, his hands also finding their respective place around your waist, as he rested his face in the crook of your neck. “I still love it, no matter if it's an actual cake or an omelette disguised as a cake.”

You giggled out loud, ghosting your fingers across the polaroids on the page, enjoying the memories that reappeared as you stared down at the page of what you considered your perfect birthday. Because in your mind, as long as he was there, everything was perfect.

With one last smile, you place the photobook at the bottom of the box titled “Spencer Reid”

It's late I hear the door Bell ringing, and its pouring I open up the door see your brown eyes at the entrance You just wanna talk, and I can't turn away a wet dog

7 months, 9 days, 23 hours, 4 minutes had passed since your breakup, since you have seen him at all. The lights were off in your apartment, you were sitting on your sofa, comfortable, you feet tucked into your side as you leaned on the armrest, pulling the blanket over you more, the cup of hot cocoa sat in your hands, as you brought it up to your lips every once in a while taking a small snip, staring at the tv which played ‘10 Things I Hate About You’.

The melodic tapping of the rain outside as it hit your window with slight force felt oddly comforting to you as you enjoyed the sound, snuggling up into your blanket even more than before.

The ringing of the doorbell brought you out of your little world. Waiting for it to go off again, which it did, you got up, sighing. You weren't expecting anyone today, especially not at 11:23 pm on a Friday night. You opened the door quickly, your face falling as you saw who it was.

You stared at the brown eyes which stood at the entrance to your home. The same brown eyes which stood here 7 months, 9 days, 23 hours, 15 minutes ago, saying the most heart wrenching words as he took a sledgehammer and slammed it into your heart.

Spencer Reid was back.

He was out of breath as he stood there, his one hand on the frame of the door, the other on his knee, as he tried his best to catch his breath. “I just want to talk.”

You so badly wanted him out of your eyesight. You wanted him to leave, to go as he had done all those months ago. But one look at the way his hair stuck to his forehead, slightly dripping, and the way his clothes clung to him, absolutely drenched and dripping, mimicking his hair; he looked like a wet dog, and you knew you couldn't turn him away and so you let him into your home, your safe haven. You let your devil into your safe haven.

But please, don't ruin this for me Please, don't make it harder than it already is I'm trying to get over this

He made his way into your living area, taking a seat on the sofa you were snuggled upon just a few minutes ago, he looked around, his eyes finally landing on you as he stared at you expectantly, running his fingers through his hair. He didn’t say a word, he didn't need to. You handed him the nearest towel you could find, the towel that lay on the chair in the dining room which was used to mainly dry your hands, every so often being used to take things out of the oven. It lay on his chair, a chair he had occasionally occupied all those 7 months, 9 days, 23 hours, 23 minutes ago.

He sat in silence for a couple seconds as he began drying his hair with the towel.

“I’m sorry,” he started, his eyes beginning to water, “I’m sorry for leaving without a real explanation.” he placed the towel on the armrest closest to him, following neatly.

You stood there, hands coming around your stomach, in a way to envelope yourself from his words, not daring to look at him, instead focusing your eyes on the towel.

You opened your mouth to speak, but as you felt your eyes prick with tears, you closed it. You couldn't stand crying in front of him. Not again. Not ever. You wouldn't let him see your weakness, not when it came to him.

Spencer’s stare on you felt deadly, you couldn't find the courage to look him in the eyes, Instead looking up at the ceiling, hoping your tears would roll back and rid themselves from your eyes.

You glanced at him, finding the words you wanted, hoping, internally begging yourself to not allow them to get stuck as they had done before.

“Please don't ruin this for me,” you stated, your voice breaking slightly, which you internally cursed yourself for.

He stood up, in an effort to move closer to you, to take you into his arms, to comfort you and beg for your forgiveness, but he stilled as your moved back, looking away from him. A pained expression painting his face.

“Please don't make this harder than it already is.” You spoke again, this time not daring to look at him, “I’m trying to get over this. Over us. Please.” Your voice nothing more than a whisper.

You looked up at him, pleadingly, walking over to your door and flinging it open.

“Please leave.”

And with those final words of yours, and an apologetic look on his face, he walked out of your apartment, defeated.

Closing the door behind him, you burst into tears. You thought you were done. You thought you were finally getting over him.

And you knew as soon as you saw him, you were lying to yourself.

You were not over Spencer Reid.

10 months, 1 day, 4 hours , 56 minutes had passed since your breakup but only 2 months, 7 days, 2 hours, 43 minutes had passed since you had last seen him, since he had last been here in your apartment to ruin the life you had started to build without him.

You wished for him to just stay in your memories, you wished he would stop showing up in real life. You wanted to stop creating memories with him, good or bad, you didn't care.

You enjoyed reminiscing about him, only bringing up the fond memories you had of him.

But here he was tonight, to once again ruin things.

Spencer had shown up at your doorstep, at an ungodly hour once again, with a half empty bottle of vodka in his hand. You gasped when you saw him, his eyes swollen and red, his lips quivering as he leaned against the wall opposite your door.

The vodka bottle dropped to the floor, completely breaking on the tiled floor of the corridor as he noticed you standing there, door open and a stunned look on your face. He whispered your name before lunging for you, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face into the crook of your neck. “I’m so glad you came for me.”

“Spencer, I didn't come to you, you came to me,” you told him, but he shook his head, unwilling to believe you.

“No, you came for me.” he was adamant.

You didn't know what to do, but push him off you and drag him inside. No matter how much you disliked him, or how much you didn't want to see him right now, you convinced yourself that it was better for him to be with you than with some random woman in such a condition.

You had him sit at the dining table, in the chair that once was his - or so he would say, as he always situated himself in it when he returned home - as you got him a glass of water. You placed the said glass of water on the table right in front of him, as he looked up at you with that beaten-down puppy look he wore often on his face when the two of you were arguing, deciding that it was wiser to do so than hand it to him, wanting as little contact with him as possible.

Running your fingers through your hair as the unbelievableness of this entire situation, you walked into your room shutting the door, he watched after you, lost, remembering the time he was the one to do that - run his fingers through your hair as you lay on his lap, a random show that you had forced him to watch playing on the tv, in the background.

He sighed as he remembered that now he was nothing to you, even if you were still everything to him.

You paced around your room, worrying about the man who you had left sitting at your dining table. You wanted to put him in the past, wanted him just as a beautiful memory, but here he was, continuing to show up despite knowing that you were done with him. However, at this point, even you were confused.

Were you really over him?

Were you really ready to move on?

Was this just something you told yourself?

You knew the answer. You knew what you wanted, but after everything he put you through, you were unwilling to admit it.

Inhaling and exhaling, you prepared to walk out, an old t-shirt and a pair of joggers scrunched in your hands - the last of his clothes in your apartment, the only pair that you had left yourself keep.

Walking out of your room you made your way to him, or where you had left him - furrowing your eyebrows when you saw the chair was pushed out and the glass was still sat untouched on the table.

“Spencer?” you called out lightly, hearing a groan come from behind the island in the kitchen.

There you saw him; a bottle of wine in his hand, which you assumed was completely empty, as he lay curled in the fetal position on the kitchen floor.

You called his name again, and he looked up at you, still in the same position. Tears were streaming down his face, “You left me.”

You didn't say anything, clenching your jaw as he carried on speaking, slurring his words as he spoke.

“You didn't pay attention to me, you didn't love me, you just used me. I’m glad you left.”

You let out an exasperated sigh as you made him sit up, filling another glass with water and handing it to him, forcing him to hold it.

“As soon as you feel like you're sober, leave,” you demanded.

He looked at you with that same dejected puppy look he gave you earlier, grabbing the glass from your hand and nodding at you slowly, beginning to drink from it.

You stayed there for a few minutes, just watching over him before deciding to speak up.

“I wish you would stay in my memories,” you started, stepping away from him, “No matter how much I want to put you in the past, you don't let me. You always show up when I think I'm over it. Over you.”

Spencer nodded again, as he stood up, slamming the glass on the kitchen counter as he walked towards you. You took a step back looking down, and he stopped in his tracks, staring at you, hurt painted all over his face. He hoped you would see how much he was hurt also.

“Id even go as far as saying that being with you… I’m traumatised.” you muttered, glancing up at him.

He gulped, walking towards the door, “I won't bother you again.” He said coldly

He slammed the door as he left, leaving you in your spot, the clothes you brought out for him - his clothes - still clutched tightly in your hands.

Now i can't say, “Goodbye” If you’ll stay here the whole night You see, it’s hard to find an end to something you keep beginning Over, and over again I promise that the ending always stays the same

10 months, 4 days, 7 hours, and 12 minutes since your break up with Spencer Reid. 3 days, 3 hours, and 2 minutes since he had last stepped foot in your house.

You thought it was over but here he was 3 days later, at your doorstep once again, carrying a bag. His lips upturned as you opened the door, his stupid smile gracing his face as he looked at you holding his bag up.

With a sigh you stepped aside, letting him in despite knowing that it was a horrible idea.

“I had a case in the area and had to find emergency accommodation. I thought I could come to stay with you” he smiled, making his way in.

“And I thought you said you wont bother me again,” you questioned him.

He placed his bag down on the sofa, “ that was drunk me, not sober me. Now sober me is standing here saying I want to be at least friend, if you wont take me back that is,” a stupid grin was permanently tattooed to his face and you absolutely hated it.

“ I don’t have room to house you, not even for a day”

His grin didn’t falter as he spoke, “ I can stay on the sofa for the night, its not a problem.”

You stand at him, an exasperated expression overcoming your face.

“Please leave,” you begged, “ you say you’ll go but you keep coming back. At this point I... now I can’t even say goodbye and give our relationship a good ending because of you... You. Always. Find. Your. Way. Back.” You were basically screaming now. You sounded like a child having a tantrum as you stomped your foot.

“I can’t say goodbye if you stay here the whole night. I really want this relationship to end. I want us to end. I don’t want to see you anymore Spencer, why don’t you understand that!”

You made your way over to the kitchen, poured yourself a glass of water, and drank it quickly, slamming the glass down on the counter, the same way as he had done 3 days prior.

He flinched, “it's just for a day, a night really, and then I'll be out of your hair, I promise.”

“You promised you wouldn’t bother me, and here you are, standing in front of me basically demanding I let you board here for the night.”

He stepped forward, seemingly to say something but you cut him off before he could

“You see, name, its hard to find an end to something you keep beginning. I don’t want you around me anymore. Seeing you - I don’t know,” you began, a tear trickling down your cheeks as you begin to choke up, “You- you constantly remind me of that night. The night you suddenly decided you didn’t want me anymore.”

Spencer made his way over to you, enveloping you in his arms. You allowed yourself to accept his comfort. You missed this, you missed him, but at the same time you hated him, you didn’t want him with you. You also hated the way you didn’t hate him when he hugged you. And yet you hugged him back, allowing yourself to forget the past couple of months as you revelled in the warmth that he unknowingly provided you.

You stayed like that for a few minutes, before you came to your senses pushing him off you and stepping away immediately. His face filled with confusion, “What?”

“We cant do this, Spence, its not possible,” you started, furious at what you had done. Your fingers found their way into your hair as you pulled at the roots, infuriated at your stupid decision.

“If we just worked this out, I promise we can make it work.” he stepped towards you, wanting to hold you to him again, but you stepped further away from him.

“And i promise that the ending of us… It will always be the same,” you started, “We’ll have a grand couple of months, where we’ll do everything to make it work, but then it’ll go downhill from there. Like it does every. Single. Time. and we need to understand that.”

He reached for you again, and you took a step back, almost instinctively.

“We’ll make it work this time, I know we- “ his eyes pleading you, yet he did nothing but stand there, in the middle of your living room.

“We’re not meant for each other, Spencer, you need to understand that.” Jaw clenched, and fists balled - nails digging into the palms of your hand -

You had taken to pacing in front of him as you spoke, your voice raising in volume.

“There really is no good reason to make believe that we could ever exist as a couple ever again.” You stopped pacing to look at him, crossing your arms.

“I cant be your friend and I cant be your lover. I cant be anything to you!” You spit out.

Spencer stood there silently, not reaching out to stop you as you silently wished he would.

Tears were streaming down your face, yet your voice stayed strong; you refused to let it break, refused to show your weakness. You were over him. You were over him. You are over him.

Wiping your tears quickly and sniffling you looked at Spencer, who had been standing still the entire time, eyes following your every move, as you screamed at him. Folding your arms and rocking back and forth on the balls of your feet, you bit your lower lip, “Aren't you going to say anything?”

He shook his head, taking a seat on the sofa, “You’re right.”

He spoke in such a whisper, it was almost inaudible.

“I was selfish to assume this would go the same way it did every time. I thought if I continued pursuing you, you’d take me back. But I guess I was too late.” he continued. He looked up at you, his eyes glossing over, as tears welled up. “I’m sorry.”

Since you came

You felt sorry for the man sitting in front of you. He was broken. Spencer had never been one to apologise in your relationship, yet from the time he had left you till now, he was saying it repeatedly. If you were the same y/n you were a year ago, you would've forgiven him, and believed that he would be better, but it was always the same. He’d apologise to get you back and then never again.

“You’re already here, I guess I can let you stay for the night.” you spoke, defeated, eyes still on Spencer as he ran his hand through his hair mumbling, “thank you.”

“But before you leave, I would like for you to take your books, your coat, and... And that one cologne you got before we broke up.”

“I've kept your things and anything that's related to you really, in the back of my closet.”

Spencer nodded, “Okay.”

“That colognes on my clothes and basically everything that I own and it makes me feel like I'm dying.”

He nodded again, “I’ll be sure to leave with everything when I go.”

Running your fingers through your hair, you headed into your room, grabbed the extra duvet and pillow you stored in the back of your wardrobe, and ran back out to place it on the sofa as he sat there dejected.

“Thank you, “ he mumbled, looking at you with sad eyes. You nodded, returning to your room, as you compiled all the belongings that he had left here that you allowed yourself to keep, placing them into the same box as the photo album, from 4 months prior, which felt forever ago.

You scoffed, remembering the time you sat in front of this very box, feeling giddy upon realising that you were over Dr. Spencer Reid. Convinced yourself that you were better off without him and you didn't need him in your life making everything so much more complicated than they already were.

How very wrong you were.

You almost laughed at your past self.

You took the box, along with his coat (one he rarely wore) out into the main area, placing the box on the dining table and the coat on a dining chair.

“Goodnight, Spencer.” You muttered as you walked past him, into your room.

With that, you left him in the living room, sitting on the sofa - his bed for the night - with his head in his hands.

When you woke up that next morning, you expected to walk out of your room and see him, still here, making his insufferable self comfortable in your home. You expected to see him in the kitchen making his morning coffee - something which he’d always offer to you despite knowing that your answer would always be no - or on the sofa still snuggled up in the duvet you had given him last night, watching something on the tv which he would complain to you about, or even reading a book that he would miraculously find.

Because that's what he always did.

But when you walked out of your room the next morning, nothing of his remained. The box you had placed on the table last night, now gone, along with his coat you had placed on the chair.

The only thing that gave clue to his presence was the neatly folded-up duvet placed upon the pillow, which you had handed him last night. On top of the duvet was a folded-up piece of paper.

You sat on the sofa, inhaling and exhaling deeply, trying to calm yourself before picking up the paper and unfolding it.

Equestria Girls Song Tournament: : Results of Round 1

Warning: long post, many stats

The three biggest landslides were Awesome as I Wanna Be (86.80%), What More Is Out There (88.28), and My Past Is Not Today (90.09)

Impressive that Awesome As I Wanna Be was that big a sweep, considering that a) it isn't a full song and b) it wasn't going against a song described as "Bad" in its own title.

The three closest matches were Life Is A Runway beating Legend You Were Meant to Be (52.88%, 101 to 90), We've Come So Far beating the EqG Opening (52.17%, 84 to 77), and Shake Your Tail beating True Original (51.35%, 72 to 76)

The first upsets were So Much More to Me vs Invisible, and Rise Up! vs A Friend for Life (both C tiers beating A tiers)

Below is how many songs from each movie entered the tournament, and how many remain.

Friendship Games fared the best (though 2 of the 6 songs were given byes) while Summertime Shorts did the worst

2023 Recap - Songs from (QL) Dramas

Thank u for the tag @troubled-mind !! Choosing my top 10 songs from qls isn’t too difficult but I’m gonna force myself to stick to shows that came out in 2023 only

1. Bitter by Roce - FROM MY FAV BL OF THE YEAR UTSUKUSHII KARE (2)!!!! I’m only counting this one (& not follow by roce) cuz the first one didn’t come out in 2023. There is just something so addicting about it. I think at one point in the year it may have been in my top 10 songs of 2023 lol

2. Plumeria by Cocktail - the INSTRUMENTALS. the YEARNING. the ROMANCE! IFYLITA is one of the best bls of all time and that INCLUDES its osts…

3. ต้องโทษดาว… by Bird Thongchai - ever since it played in last twilight I’ve found myself going back to it quite a bit

4. รักคุณยิ่งกว่าใคร by NuNew (cover) - this cover is probably my fav ost from not just cutie pie 2 you but all of cutie pie! Nunew slayed

5. Hook by Gemini Norawit - if I don’t put hook on this list I’d be a LIAR. I was listening to the new hook version of msp credits when they dropped on loop for way too long before the full song came out lmfao

6. Come Closer by Ford Arun - out of all my bl songs harp covers this was my fav to do. Ford’s voice is beautiful and it was in this moment I felt a switch go off in me while watching msp and I knew I’d be hooked (no msp ost pun intended…)! Another fav bl ost of all time ngl

7. City by Gemini Norawit & Fourth Nattawat (cover) - ur out of ur mind if u don’t think I’m gonna put at least THREE songs from the damn MUSICAL bl… anyway this is the highest ost from a ql in my 2023 top songs of the year lol (it’s at 11th place!)

8. Is This Love by Better Weather - cheating bc yes I got into this song from love sick which is NOT a 2023 show… the actual song (as in, not the cover that they did for love sick (which I listened to more)) was used in the cherry magic Thailand pilot trailer and I’m saying it counts enough! It’s a complete ear worm and I physically cannot get it out of my head…

9. My Fault by Bain (JUST B) - one of those songs you listen to on repeat for a few days tbh. and I did! (Also from one of the fewer higher tiered kbls this year imo..I rlly liked sing my crush)

10. Night Owl by Anonymouz - I liked Jack o' frost! I may have liked the ost more…?? I listened to it a LOT…

The order doesn’t really matter in this list but ya these are the ones I rlly enjoyed hehe

9 People to Get to Know Better

Thanks for the tag @boom-ovaries-gone!

1. Three ships:

a. Garrus/Shepard (Mass Effect). My Mass Effect brainrot has come back with a vengeance and it's just reminded why I love them so much. No other choice-based RPG has managed to replicate the feeling of having two characters fall in love over the arc of three games like Mass Effect does, and for me Shakarian feels better because it uses the first game as a foundation without any romance, then goes on to develop the relationship into something more and, by the time you reach ME3, you get to experience the intimacy and deep bond between two persons who trust and care for each other in a way that feels incredibly rewarding, because you have witnessed and experienced the journey to get there. And that's why, for me, these two are and will always be top tier ship material.

b. Jill/Nicholai. Does it make sense? No. Do I care? Also no. It's fun to imagine scenarios where they would have to be forced into an alliance, be enemies with benefits, Nicholai gets a sort of "redemption" arc, and more. Sky's the limit.

c. Sauron/Galadriel (LOTR & Rings of Power). I didn't go into ROP expecting to get a hero/villain ship of this caliber, where the stakes are the highest, but here we are. I couldn't believe where they went in the final episode, feeling the showrunners wouldn't have the guts, but OH THEY WENT PLACES (within what the "canon" allows them). I have yet to dip my toes into the fanfic, but it looks very promising.

2. First ever ship: Ada/Leon (Resident Evil). They changed something in my brain chemistry when I was just 8 years old and here we are.

3. Last song: The Last Ascent from the Deep Rock Galactic OST (a co-op game I've been playing with friends where you are a team of space dwarves tasked with mining in extremely dangerous planets' undergrounds - it sounds crazy but it's super fun and the music is good and epic synth tunes).

4. Last film: Murders of the Flower Moon. Despite its length, time flew by while watching it at the cinema.

5. Currently reading: Leviathan Wakes (The Expanse #1) by James S. A. Corey. It started slow, but I'm almost finished with it! The second half is much more engaging than the first, which drags a bit.

6. Currently watching: Babylon 5's season two. Despite the dated CGI and some low cost alien designs, this show has aged incredibly well with its themes.

7. Currently consuming: Nothing, waiting for dinner in a bit.

8. Currently craving: A weekend of doing nothing but playing videogames.

My Street Fighter 6 Base Game Roster Outfit 3 Ranking from Best to Worst

S Tier

1. Chun-Li - I LOVE it. I'm not sure about the hair but everything else is perfect - Outfit 3 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 2

2. Cammy - A bit basic but it still works very well imo - Outfit 1 > Outfit 3 > Outfit 2

3. Juri - A fun concept, too unique for Juri's usual shit I think but, again, I don't know how I feel about the hair and I honestly feel like Juri can afford to wear shoes in at least ONE outfit like... Enough with the fucking feet - Outfit 2 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 3

4. Marisa - A big YES. That's all - Outfit 3 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 2

A Tier

5. Blanka - Blanka chan is always welcome - Outfit 3 > Outfit 2 > Outfit 1

6. Luke - He makes it work for me this time idk. Maybe it's the bare chest lmao - Outfit 2 > Outfit 3 > Outfit 1

7. Jamie - Looks nice, nothing too special but still looks very good - Outfit 3 > Outfit 2 > Outfit 1

8. Dee Jay - Same, nice enough, functional, nothing too special - Outfit 3 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 2

B Tier

9. Guile - It's the best he's ever looked, but he always looks boring so that doesn't say that much. At least his fucking hair doesn't look ridiculous for once - Outfit 3 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 2

10. Lily - It works, but she is like the 8000th Mexican fighter with a similar outfit so - Outfit 2 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 3

11. Ryu - I love that he wears the jacket Chun-Li got for him / normal clothes but I think he over accessorized a bit - Outfit 3 > Outfit 2 > Outfit 1

12. Kimberly - I love that we continue with the African American meets ninja aesthetic but I feel like the turquoise afro is a bit much, I'd prefer it if it was her natural colour - Outfit 2 > Outfit 3 > Outfit 1

C Tier

13. Dhalsim - This is so out of character but I actually like it, I just don't like it more than the previous ones. Hipster Dhalsim is a statement alright - Outfit 3 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 2

14. Manon - Yes of course the French fighter gets a period costume as well. Boring - Outfit 2 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 3

D Tier

15. Zangief - Like with Dhalsim, this is so out of character. I don't hate it but I don't love it either - Outfit 3 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 2

16. JP - I guess this is his "cult leader" outfit or whatever that we see him wear in various story concept art. I don't know how I feel about it - Outfit 2 > Outfit 1 > Outfit 3

17. Ken - ...Capcom seems to be in a constant need to make Ken look as ugly as possible since SFIV, I don't know what he did to them - Outfit 1 > Outfit 2 > Outfit 3

18. E. Honda - This does fit Honda, because it is ridiculously busy but eh, it's a bit whatever - Outfit 2 > Outfit 3 > Outfit 2

feels a little empty but it’s not bad, good background sound for art

Lemon Demon = D

the chorus is waaay too repetitive for being so meh imo

10000 light years away = A

this feels like a more modern Neil song, but with the charm of the classics, I like it! The keyboard solo is great too.

Don’t be like the sun = B

Not much to say, it’s solid but not A tier, lyrics are a bit lacking

Bowling alley = F

THIS ONE. It feels like me when I’m barely awake lol. Experimental, not in a good way.

Wrong = S

I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH. Vocal effects itch my brain perfectly, great tempo and that first wrong HITS.

Hazel’s modus operandi = C

Middle of the road, it’s fine ig

Idiot control now - S+

I’m so biased. I’m a MSTie, and any MST3K song is insta-S tier

Pepper and Salt = B

I dig the reggae beat, and the high reverb and lyrics are fun!

Holy Bison Breaks! = B

Feels like something I’d right in the car in the best way. It’s like a much better version of bowling alley

Somnolence = B

The reverb on Clown Circus’s track so far is really nice! This one is probably the best fit for that effect, but it’s a bit too calm for me, and not in a soothing way (ex would be Rainwater)

Fire Motif = A

Again, feels like a newer LD song in some ways, but I really really dig it! The ending is GOOOOOOD.

Hyakugojyuuichi 2003 = S

I hate animation memes with a burning passion, so I was originally soured by this one, but I listened to it fully and ITS SO SILLY and makes my autistic brain starting ascending into the heavens

Elsewhere = A

Perfect ending for the first album! It does slightly overstay its welcome but it’s solid!

Overall ranking = B

A good foundation for future albums! The lows were pretty low but the highs were really, really good!
