Propaganda
Ginger Rogers (Swing Time, Top Hat)—Look I’ll level with you, I’ve never seen her in a musical and I know that she’s an amazing dancer and she’ll be even hotter when I finally watch Top Hat but I’m not submitting her as a dancer I’m submitting her as an ACTRESS. Her comic timing is impeccable!!!!! She’s full to bursting with life and in every role she seems to be having FUN, you can practically feel the twinkle in her eye. With her natural warmth it’s like she’s letting you in on the joke, y’all get to have this fun together! Making me laugh is hot!!! [If you'd like to see Ginger dance, videos below the cut]
Dorothy Lamour (The Jungle Princess, Road to… movies)—Ok, to be honest, I get if no one wants to vote for her--she's kind of like my ~problematic fave~ because she started in the Road (Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong, etc) movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, which are full of all sorts of exoticism tropes and usually have her playing very side-eye type roles..island princesses and things...yeah. also she banged J. Edgar Hoover. not very hot. but your honor i still think she's pretty despite all that she's pretty please look at her and tell me she's prettyyy
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Dorothy Lamour propaganda:
Tumblr media
She started in jungle and South Seas movies and became famous in the Road series. She learned quickly to improvise when facing Bob and Bing. Road to Bali almost has her character marrying both of theirs, since she's island royalty and nobody had a problem with it - a nearly poly relationship, an epiphany for a viewer who didn't even know that that could happen! She was a popular pinup girl during World War 2, and was the first singer for the popular standard "It Could Happen to You". She sang often in her movies and has a lovely voice!
Tumblr media
Ginger Rogers propaganda:
Tumblr media
She needs no introduction! An undeniable powerhouse on the dancefloor, and no less talented an actress. I once watched a compilation of cinema's greatest dance scenes and one of her and Fred Astaire's dances was featured, and one of the talking heads said he pitied her for 'having to keep up with him' - or something to that effect. Bullshit, I cry. Ginger Rogers was his absolute equal, and underplaying her incredible skill is downright criminal. I want the 'Cheek to Cheek' sequence from Top Hat to be permanently burned into my memory.
Tumblr media
"Backwards in high heels", as the saying goes (though the pedant in me must point out that she in fact spent her fair share of time leading or dancing side-by-side). One of the earliest twinkle-toed ladies of the silver screen, and in terms of acting/persona, her balance of wide-eyed cuteness and movie-star glamour has never quite been replicated.
Tumblr media
we all know her beloved string of musicals with fred but ginger also has an extensive and varied non-fred filmography that she's great in! a few ginger moments that are important 2 me personally ginger singing “we’re in the money” in gold diggers of 1933, complete with a verse in pig latin bc this whole movie is kinda mocking the concept of anyone actually being in the money in 1933; ginger and una merkel singing a verse of “shuffle off to buffalo” in 42nd street, providing some statler & waldorf-esque commentary on newlyweds from the upper berth of a railway car (interesting that belly was apparently a risque word in 1933 - maybe its bc the lyric is innuendo-ing about out of wedlock pregnancies - and that panties was a term for men’s underthings!); a favorite fred & ginger number
Tumblr media
Ginger Rogers could do everything! She could sing, dance and act. She was hilarious in comedies, moving in dramatic roles (she won an Oscar for Kitty Foyle in 1940) and absolutely gorgeous!
Listen, no shade to Fred Astaire at all, but she both kept up with him step for step and then later went on to WIN AN OSCAR FOR ACTING. (which he did not.) truly a double threat!!!
Tumblr media
One of the best dancers in Hollywood! Her work with Fred Astaire is just incredible.
ONE LINE: "Everything Fred did, Ginger did backwards and in heels" AND THEYRE RIGHT! Rogers was a total dance badass, and a lot of movie buffs know the story, but the Never Gonna Dance number from Swing Time took almost 50 takes, and allegedly by the end of filming it her white shoes had been stained pink because her feet were bleeding. As a note, she looks crazy gorgeous in this number. Watching these two dance is insane. They match up to each other in a way my mom describes as "divine" and she's right. DANCE NUMBERS!
youtube
Let's Call The Whole Thing Off (Shall We Dance, 1937, dancing starts at 3:14, they're in ROLLERSKATES)
youtube
(Ginger Rogers is the hottest woman ever to live in this number. seeing this as a teenager altered my brain chemistry)
youtube
(also watch her feet and how she moves opposite Astaire in this one. We all know our boy Freddie had that precision demon but jesus christ Miss Rogers, let a girl live!)
Pick Yourself Up, Swing Time 1936 (Everyone's seen this one but by god you are going to see it AGAIN!)
youtube
Shall We Dance, 1937 (duet begins at 2:34)
youtube
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Roberta 1935 (There's just something about Ginger Rogers in a slick black dress man)
youtube
The Continental, The Gay Divorcee 1934 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjv6nmF7wdk God she's MAGIC in this one.
youtube
Gay Divorcee's Ending Montage 1934The infamous table and chairs spin happens at about 0:49. Pay CLOSE attention to her in this bc it looks like witchcraft and I feel lightheaded whenever I watch this movie bc shes THAT awesome.
youtube
She is a miracle to watch. Sorry for the sheer amount of clips. My entire family is like madly in love with Ginger Rogers.

Summary: As your relationship with Wanda progresses, things take a turn when you uncover the secret shes been struggling to keep from you.
WC: 5.6k
Warnings: angst, arguing , hints to smut, cunty wanda (my fav),
Read part 1 here!
Partnering up with Wanda had turned out to be a whirlwind of intensity. From the moment the decision was made to merge your engineering companies, the dynamics of your work life underwent a significant shift.
The initial days were marked by long hours of brainstorming, heated debates, and passionate discussions. You found yourselves challenging each other's viewpoints, pushing the boundaries of what you believed was possible, and refining your ideas until they were razor-sharp. Wanda's ability to think outside the box and approach problems from unconventional angles injected fresh energy into your projects.
What surprised you the most was the undeniable chemistry between the two of you. Despite your competitive history, your partnership unfolded with a sense of balance and harmony. Wanda's passion was infectious, igniting your own drive to achieve greatness. The moments of friction were offset by her unwavering determination and the genuine respect she showed for your skills
As for the other side of your relationship with Wanda, the two of you continued your secret hookups, during the late hours of the night when everyone had gone home, the only sounds that were to be heard in the building were moans and gasps of pleasure emitting from your office nestled on the uppermost floor.
This went on for a while. On certain evenings you showed up at her apartment after a grueling day of work looking to release stress. On other days wanda would simply barge into your office and take you right there on the desk, most of the time happening after her more frustrating phone calls.
The both of you brushing these encounters off as a way to relieve the stress from your highly demanding jobs. It became routine for the two of you. Once Wanda had wrapped up her work for the night she would make her way across the street to your office building, the glow of your still-lit workspace visible from the street below. timing it just as you signed off, she'd join you, and then the two of you would make your way to her place, On Occasion picking up takeout from that bistro on 42nd street if the mood struck you two. Arriving at her apartment, the memories would blur into a haze of red hair and fiery hands all over your body, the outside world fading away.
Once done with your rendezvous for the night you would slip out into the darkened city, with a wrinkled shirt and purple marks painted down your neck, only to repeat the same thing the very next day.
Soon the Nature of your relationship changed into something beyond physical desire.
Post-sex, you found yourself yearning for more than just a fleeting encounter. a desire to remain close to her in the aftermath of your passionate moments. It was you who took the initiative, reaching out for a deeper connection.
Wordlessly, your arm would drape over her waist, and you'd nuzzle your face into the comforting haven of her chest. This act of tenderness caught Wanda by surprise at first, yet she soon melted into the embrace, finding solace and warmth in your arms. The nights became more intimate, the two of you would stay up late in each other's arms sharing your secrets and fears, and dreams for the future. The dynamic between you and wanda changing into something more gentle and domestic.
Wanda was usually the first to fall asleep after the two of you had finished your activities for the night. Wrapping an arm around your waist and Snuggling her face into the warmth of your neck became a familiar routine for Wanda. Some nights, when sleep had yet to take over you, and the world was at rest, you spent your time observing the features of her face, being able to see her up close in such a relaxed and personal state was a privilege you were grateful to have.
During those nights. you took the opportunity to express the feelings you were too afraid to share when she was awake. With whispers of love and vulnerability, you spoke into the softness of her hair, letting your emotions flow freely in the silent embrace.
In your relationship with Wanda, she was often the one to express affection and openness, while you tended to be more reserved and hesitant. Love and relationships were something you weren't familiar with, which left you feeling intimidated and afraid of these feelings you had for Wanda. However, her endless patience and kindness were always there to remind you that there was no need to be hurried when Your presence alone would always be enough for her.
Some nights you didn't have sex at all. Wanda would whisk you away for a different kind of experience. She'd lead you to a charming dinner spot. The city lights would dance around you as you engaged in conversations that ranged from work to dreams, And although the night might not end in the same heated passion, the bond between you two only seemed to deepen with each moment spent in her presence.
After more stressful and exhausting days at the office, Instead of ripping each other clothes off the moment the door shut behind you two, you would take the time to unwind with each other. Having a glass of wine on the couch with your feet in Wanda's lap, her fingers tracing patterns into your skin as you listened to her tales about her work day. Together, you'd venture to the kitchen. Wanda's arms would wrap themselves around your waist, her chin on your shoulder watching your hands as they danced around the pots and pans.
Wanda was determined to create an environment where you felt truly at home. Wanting to provide you with a space where you felt comfortable and at ease. She stocked her bathroom with copies of your skincare products, she kept her fridge full of the food you liked and ridding the ones you didn't, and cleared out the nightstand on the left side of her bed so you could fill it with your items. subtle but meaningful gestures that made your heart swell.
It was unspoken. You and Wanda's devotion and loyalty to each other was something that didn't need affirmation. What you and Wanda felt for each other was something that didn't need to be addressed, or announced, Or shouted from the rooftops. It was just there. It was something intimate and private, an inevitable bond that simply was. It belonged solely to the two of you, existing in the moments you shared in your apartment or in Wanda's office during the late hours of the night. There was no need to flaunt it or make it known to the world; it was a precious and personal connection that only the two of you understood and cherished.
—---------
The plan was perfect. Every detail and calculation was refined to perfection.
When Tony Stark approached Wanda on that misty September morning she knew her fate was already sealed.
"Think about it, Wanda. You can't withstand her for much longer," Tony's gaze bore into Wanda's, unwavering. "Her upcoming A.I. release next month will overwhelm your sales. Before you realize it, you'll be plummeting down the rankings."
Wanda listened, her thoughts racing as Tony's words sank in. She had always been fiercely competitive, determined to maintain her position at the top. But the reality of the situation was starting to dawn on her. Her rivalry with you had reached a critical juncture, and the consequences of losing seemed more dire than ever. As Tony continued to lay out his proposal, Wanda found herself grappling with a difficult decision, torn between her ambition and the mounting pressure of the business world.
“So you want me to Seduce y/n into a partnership and pursue a relationship with her so that we can secretly steal information from her company?” Wanda raised her eyebrows in disbelief at Tony's ridiculous plan.
“Precisely!” He smiled, smugly leaning back into the chair with one leg crossed over the other
“And once we have all the information we need the two of us will take her down and well secure our spot as the top engineering company in America” Tony finished, Proudly
Wanda narrowed her eyes at the man sitting across from her, adjusting herself so one elbow was placed on the arm of her chair. “And how do you expect this plan to work?”
“Because I did the same thing to Bruce Banner.”
Wanda's jaw clenched as she recalled the events from the previous year. Tony had cunningly sent in one of his assistants, an unfamiliar face to everyone. They had met a few times, She was captivating, intelligent, and calculating much like Wanda herself. she had seamlessly integrated herself into Bruce's inner circle. For a time, Bruce's company thrived under her influence. However, that facade shattered when Tony unveiled a new invention that seemed to have drawn direct inspiration from ideas and innovations that originally belonged to Bruce.
Over the course of the year, Bruce's company suffered a devastating decline.A company that had once held such promise was now struggling, all because of Tony Stark. It was cruel and vicious and completely Unfair.
But it was also successful, after that incident Tony was able to rise tremendoulsy throught the ranks, his buisness flourished. He was brining in triple the amound of money he had before and was becoming an A-level threat in the industry.
Wanda sucked on the inside of her cheek, considering the weight of his plan. A rush of excitement built up within her at the idea of this succeeding
“Your the only line we have to y/n, Wanda” Tony persisted, his voice laced with persuasion.
Wanda knew this was a complete violation of her basic morals. She knew this was a sick and twisted act that you would never forgive her for.
Yet, the tantalizing prospect of emerging victorious, finally ending the prolonged feud, and toppling you for good. Well. The offer was just too enticing to ignore.
Thus, a plan was crafted, woven from a web of secrecy and deceit. Wanda found herself entangled in a sinister dance with Tony Stark, each step taken dragging her deeper into the abyss of betrayal. Late-night meetings in dimly lit corners became the norm, their hushed conversations shrouded in the darkness of their shared ambition
As the months rolled on, the plan took shape like an intricate puzzle. Wanda's role was to discreetly gather crucial information about your company's groundbreaking AI technology and innovative designs. Her position provided her access to your most guarded secrets, allowing her to siphon off precious data bit by bit.
Everything was going accordingly. You were as unsuspecting as ever, completely unaware of the intricate web of deception that had been woven around you. Wanda played her part well, maintaining the facade of a loyal business partner while secretly funneling information to Tony Stark and Maximoff Industries. There was nothing stopping her. She could pratically see her success unfolding right before her eyes.
Everything was perfect.
Except there was one major miscalculation.
She had fallen in love with you.
she had fallen so deeply and irrevocably in love with you.
This was certainly not apart of the plan. Wanda didn't know when or how it happened. What was supposed to be a relationship built on a base of lies and betrayal in order to receive the upper hand, had evolved into something entirely different.
She had always sensed a intangible connection between the two fo you. Initially, she dismissed it as was pure chemical attraction and lust. Yet, as time passed she found herself becoming more drawn to you. It was like an unstoppable force, completely defying the boundaries of her carefully constructed plan.
She tried to push aside these feelings, to remind herself that this was all a means to an end. But the more she resisted, the stronger her emotions grew. It was in the way you looked at her, with tenderness and understanding. It was in the moments of vulnerability you shared, the quiet conversations that revealed the depths of your souls.
Wanda was surprised by the change in her emotions, and she struggled to comprehend how the lines between rivals and something more had blurred so effortlessly. The more time she spent with you, the more she uncovered the layers of your personality, and she found herself captivated by the person you were beneath the surface
Your profound gentleness was something that took her by surprise. You had gotten a bad rap in the industry, being painted as a heartless, ruthless competitor. Yet, the more time Wanda spent with you, the more she realized that those portrayals couldn't be further from the truth.
In moments of vulnerability, you were a steady anchor for her, providing the support and understanding she needed. Nights when work became too much for Wanda and everything felt like an overwhelming mess. You were there. Holding her head against the warmth of your chest as she poured out her fears, frustrations, and worries. The way you looked at her with such patience and tenderness created an indescribable feeling of belonging inside of her. There was no judgment or impatience in your gaze, only genuine concern and a willingness to be there for her.
She grew to find peace in your quietness, the simplicity of being able to just sit in the same room together in silence, without a need for words. Was something Wanda cherished, the intimacy and connection that she built with you was something she didn't know she had been craving for all these years.
Wanda's love for you felt overwhelming at times. Throughout the day, she often found herself entranced by the simplest of moments – watching you do mundane tasks like putting on makeup or answering emails. To her, you were a living work of art, and she couldn't help but wonder how a person could be so perfect
In your presence, Wanda felt like the luckiest person in the world. Your beauty, intelligence, grace, and talent left her in awe, and she felt incredibly privileged to be a part of your life. The way you carried yourself with confidence and poise, the way your laughter filled the room with warmth, and the way you effortlessly excelled in everything you put your mind to – it was all a marvel to her.
So how could she possibly tell you about the unforgivable acts she had committed over the past seven months? The betrayal gnawed at her heart, making it almost impossible to face you. The mere thought of losing you created a overwhelming sense of panic and dread inside her. Wanda knew that if you were to ever find out what she has been doing you'd be gone in an instant. This thought alone was enough to keep her from confessing the truth.
—---------------
Wanda's hands were hot on your waist, your feet stumbling behind you in an attempt to keep from falling backward. You felt yourself being propelled into her office, the door slamming shut with a swift kick from her foot. In one fluid motion, she spun you around, and your back made forceful contact with the hardwood material of her office door.
She brought her lips back to yours, reconnecting you into a bruising kiss. Your hands wrapped around her neck until they tangled themselves in her hair, pulling her face closer to yours. She moaned into your mouth, moving her hips until they were pressed right against yours, trapping you between her and the door.
Both of you being more desperate than usual after being trapped in endless meetings all week, barely having enough time to exchange pleasantries with each other.
“I missed you so much” she sighed against your lips, beginning to lose herself in the heated kiss, Wanda's hand moved to firmly squeeze the flesh of your ass, eliciting a gasp from you, which she took advantage of to slip her tongue into your mouth. Her lips then trailed down to your jaw, leaving wet kisses all the way down to your neck.
Her hands and lips were all over you, sending jolts of warmth straight to that spot in between your thighs. When she forced your thighs apart with her leg, her knee coming into straight contact with your pussy, you had to force yourself to pull away. Knowing where this exchange was headed,
“No, Wanda, not here," you protested, though her lips continued their journey, making it difficult for you to resist. When she pressed her lips against that spot behind your ear you had to exert self-control and gently push her away. "Someone will see," you tried to reason with her.
Wanda hummed, clearly not paying attention to anything that you were saying. “and plus, you have a meeting in” you glazed at your wrist watch “8 minutes!”
“Perfect, that's plenty of time” she smirked, clearly not concerned about the time constraints
“Wanda, I'm serious” you firmly spoke. Wanting to avoid any potential consequences.
“Okay okay” she finally relented stepping back in defeat, and you felt a sudden chill, immediately missing the warmth of her body “God, I'm so sick of all these board meetings” she grumbled in frustration.
“I know, it's been overwhelming lately” you responded with the same frustration as her, these past few weeks have been hell, leading up to the release of you and Wanda's newest project. the two of you spending almost every hour of the day locked in conference rooms with endless waves of snobby investors, reviewing contracts, and going over every last detail of the project. The pressure was immense, but the two of you were determined to make it a success. Long days turned into even longer nights, and exhaustion began to take its toll.
"I can't even remember the last time we had a proper date," you added with a hint of exhaustion in your voice, knowing that Wanda could relate. "But at least this is your last one for today. Who did you say it was with again?"
"No one important," she responded rather quickly, trying to downplay the significance of the meeting. But you could tell there was something more to it from the way she avoided making eye contact.
"Come on, Wanda, don't shut me out," you gently encouraged, reaching out to tilt her chin up so that she had to meet your gaze. "If it's bothering you, I want to know."
Wanda sighed, her guard slowly crumbling under your caring gaze. "It's just another potential investor," she admitted, her voice tinged with frustration. "They've been hounding me for weeks, and I finally agreed to meet them today. But honestly, I don't have a good feeling about it."
You squeezed her hand reassuringly, understanding the pressure she was under. "you're an incredible businesswoman, and our company is doing amazing things. If this investor can't see that, it's their loss," you said, offering her a small smile
Wanda's lips curled up slightly. "You always know how to make me feel better," she said softly, leaning in to press a gentle kiss against your lips.
“Come by my apartment later?” her hands returned to your waist, softer this time “I want to see you.”
"I'll be there before you get home from work" you confirmed, caressing her cheek with your thumb. "I could use some time with you too."
Wanda's eyes glimmered with affection, and she leaned in to plant another tender kiss on your lips. "I can't wait," she whispered, her voice filled with eager anticipation. Reluctantly, you pulled away, playfully nudging her shoulder. "Okay, go. You can't be late."
“Yes ma’am” Wanda replied with a playful grin, giving your lips one last peck before quickly gathering her things and disappearing down the hallway.
—-------------------------
The night air was warm, and the streetlights cast a soft, golden hue on the sidewalk as you stepped out of your car, securing it with a click of the lock. Your gaze was drawn upwards to the towering black building that housed Wanda's apartment complex.
Amidst the sounds of speeding cars, the sidewalk remained sparsely populated, with only a few people making their way home from work. You strode into the building, warmly greeted by the opulence of the lobby—bright white lights and exquisite furnishings welcomed you. You exchanged a friendly smile with Liam, the receptionist, whom you had gotten to know quite well after numerous late nights spent sneaking out of Wanda's room, makeup slightly smudged with a pair of heels in your hand.
Once inside the elevator, you pressed the button for the top floor where Wanda's apartment awaited. Stepping out onto her floor, you walked down the dimly lit hall, reaching into your purse to retrieve the spare key she had given you.
Opening and closing the door with a click you were met with the darkness of Wanda's house. Placing your keys on the welcoming table next to the door you flicked on the lights to reveal the dark hardwood floors and pristine white countertops of Wanda's kitchen.
The air was scented with a hint of fresh flowers and the subtle fragrance of high-end perfumes,. You felt yourself relax into the familiar scent of Wanda. The apartment's interior boasted contemporary furnishings, luxurious fabrics, and tastefully arranged art pieces, creating a space that exuded both comfort and style. The night skyline, visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows, painted a mesmerizing scene as the city lights illuminated the room. The attached balcony provided a captivating view of the bustling city below while providing a comforting distance from its energetic pace.
You pulled at the collar of your shirt, the tight scratchiness of your work clothes made you cringe, quickly kicking off your heels you made a beeline to Wanda's room, heading straight for her closet. You shifted through her endless collection of expensive, pants, coats, blouses, and suits until you reached the drawer that housed her comfortable clothes.
Just as you were about to slip on a pair of her soft sweatpants, the loud sound of your phone ringing echoed throughout the empty apartment, startling you. Picking up your phone you were met with a notification from your reminders app
Send final draft to Natasha - due 12 pm
You groan at the thought of having to do any more work for the night, the idea of even opening your laptop made you want to cry. Deciding to just get it over with, You reached inside your purse, expecting to be met with the hard material of your laptop. instead, feeling the large emptiness of your purse. You sighed in frustration, you must have left it on your desk back at the office.
The exhaustion was taking its toll on you, and you knew you couldn't put off the task any longer. With a heavy heart, You made your way out of Wanda's room and down the hall to the doors of her home office. A wave of relief washed over you once you saw her laptop already hooked up to her two larger monitors. You had used Wanda's office a number of times, settling down into her large swivel chairs you moved around the mouse, the dark room being lit up by the bright light of the screen. The screen opened up to reveal the inbox of Wanda's emails. Realizing she must have forgotten to sign out you immediately moved your mouse to the corner of the screen heading for the switch accounts button, not wanting to invade her privacy.
However, your movements stopped when you noticed an email Chain between Wanda and Tony Stark. You paused. Why was she emailing Tony, one of your top competitors? You know you shouldn't have. You should have respected her privacy and clicked off. But curiosity got the best of you and you clicked on the most recent email.
Wanda,
It's been weeks now and you haven't given us any new information regarding Y/n L/ns newest designs, you were supposed to give us the blueprint to her A.I Robot last month. What is going on?
Tony Stark, Stark Industries
Sent today, 9:27 am
A cold sensation ran through your body, No. This wasn't what it looked like. Wanda would never do something like this. There had to be some sort of explanation for this. Your hands trembled as you scrolled through the email chain, desperately seeking some clarification or context that could explain why Wanda had shared your company's confidential information with Tony Stark. The more you read, the more your suspicions about wanda were confirmed.
The emails were filled with discussions about your latest projects, strategies, and even your upcoming releases. It was clear that Wanda had been feeding Stark Industries information about your company, and it left a bitter taste in your mouth. The trust you had in her was shattered, and you couldn't fathom why she would betray you in such a way.
As you continued to read, you noticed that there were times when Tony had pushed for even more sensitive information, and Wanda seemed hesitant and conflicted in her responses. It appeared as though she had some reservations about what she was doing, but she still continued the exchanges.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you read the emails, feeling like the ground beneath you was crumbling away. Wanda had been sharing your company's confidential information with Tony Stark, your biggest competitor. she had betrayed your trust and jeopardized everything you had worked so hard for.
Your mind was a whirlwind of emotions—anger, hurt, confusion, and sadness. You knew you needed to confront Wanda about this.
—------
Wanda's back throbbed with exhaustion, and her eyelids struggled to remain lifted as she wearily navigated down the hallway toward her penthouse. The meeting with potential investors had stretched far beyond her expectations, leaving her drained beyond her belief. She lazily fumbled with her keys and eagerly swung open the door ready to drop everything and crawl into bed with you.
Wanda nearly dropped her bag in shock when she flicked on the lights to reveal your figure seated in her kitchen, your limbs crossed, wearing an unreadable expression on your face.
“Jesus, y/n. You nearly gave me a heart attack” She sighed in relief, her hand dropping from its previous place on her chest. Her bag found its place on the floor, and she balanced on one foot, steadying herself on the wall as she undid the straps of her heels.“What are you doing still up? I thought you'd be asleep”
“Couldn't sleep,” your monotone reply cut through the air, your gaze drilling into Wanda's form.
Once she got her shoes off she moved closer to you ready to find out whatever was bothering you, but her movements faltered when she noticed a sea of spread-out papers covering her kitchen island, When she moved in closer to inspect them her face went pale.
There in front of her were dozens of printed-out copies of emails and documents between her and Tony. Stone cold undeniable evidence.
“Y/n. I can explain” Wanda's voice wavered, her gaze lifting from the incriminating evidence to meet your eyes,
"Explain?" you retorted, a mix of disbelief and anger coloring your tone. "How do you even begin to explain going behind my back for months, taking our confidential information, and then willingly giving it to our main competitor?
"It was never meant to go this far," Wanda pleaded, desperation lacing her voice. She knew this was bad. Nothing about this situation was justifiable. She had completely shattered your trust and violated the sanctity of your company.
"It's over. I stopped sending him information weeks ago," she continued, her voice quivering with remorse.
You stood up from your seat, putting distance between the two of you as you paced around the kitchen island. The weight of the situation hung heavily in the air.
"Like that's supposed to make me feel better," you retorted. You began to pick up the scattered papers, each one a painful reminder of the breach of trust
Your heart ached as you revisited the documents. You had spent countless hours, pouring your soul into those blueprints and designs. They were a connection to your father, a legacy you held dear
"All of my work," you muttered, flipping through the papers with a mix of disbelief and anguish. Memories of the nights you had dedicated to perfecting your craft flooded your mind. Your father's legacy, his hard work and dedication, all of it felt tarnished by this revelation.
“My blueprints, my designs…My Father's designs!” you practically growled, slamming the documents onto the table. The sound echoed throughout the room. Your eyes welled with hot tears that threatened to spill out at any moment.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you tried to figure out how she could have done this. Wanda. Your wanda. Your sweet, gentle Wanda who would never have even dreamed of hurting you, could do something so cruel.
“Y/n, im sorry. Im so sorry” Wanda's voice cracked, her own eyes brimming with tears as she met your gaze.
You took a deep breath, trying to steady your racing emotions. "Sorry? Sorry doesn't even begin to cover it, Wanda," you said, your voice a mixture of hurt and anger. "You've not only betrayed me, but you've tarnished my father's legacy. How could you do this to me?"
Wanda's shoulders slumped, the weight of her actions bearing down on her. "I never meant for any of this to happen," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I never thought it would spiral out of control like this.”
"You thought you could just play both sides and not face the consequences?" you shot back, your frustration boiling over. "And with Tony Stark of all people? Do you realize what you've done?"
Wanda reached out tentatively, her hand hovering in the air before she let it drop to her side. "I know I messed up, y/n. I know I hurt you” she said, her voice heavy with remorse.
"I-I wasnt thinking" she stuttered, her panic beginning to skin into her words. "And I let my own desperation cloud my judgment."
"You've completely shattered the trust I had in you," you said moving your face to the side away from Wandas. "I can't even look at you right now"
Wanda's tears finally spilled over, her hands shaking as she let out a choked sob. “Please y/n, I am so sorry” Wanda felt her heart begin to break. “I'll do whatever it takes to make this right. I swear to you”
As you looked at her, your anger began to fade, replaced by a profound sense of sorrow and loss. The weight of the situation bore down on you both, a heavy silence enveloping the room.
“Was it all a lie?” Your voice barely above a whisper, tiptoeing around the subject that had been an unspoken weight between you. The subject that neither of you had dared to address until this moment.
“No. Y/n, No” Wanda immediately responded, knowing exactly what you were referring to.
She swiftly closed the distance, her steps moved in sync around the kitchen island to stand before you. Her trembling hands reached out, an unspoken plea in her eyes as she gently took hold of your hands, her fingers brushing against yours.
“What I feel for you, the way you make me feel. It was never a lie.” The honesty and desperation poured into her words. Wanda's love for you was sacred to her. Something that grew to become a part of her. Something that she would never lie to you about.
“And how do you expect me to believe that.” you fired back at her.
Wanda felt a lump forming in her throat, struggling to find the words to bridge the gap between you. You were right, how could you believe her when the past 6 months had been nothing but a lie “Please. Y/n, Please”
“How long have you been doing this? When did it start?” you interrogated her, your demeanor completely shifting from hurt to anger “And I swear to god, don't you dare lie to me.”
Wanda's eyes dropped to the floor, the weight of her actions heavy on her shoulders. Her grip on your hand loosened, her fingers sliding back to her sides as if she felt unworthy of your touch. Her voice was a quiet murmur, laden with shame. “That first night in the conference room. Right after we had sex.”
Once you heard that piece of information it felt like something died inside you, all your fears and doubts being confirmed in an instant. Your expression went dark as you turned your head away from Wanda and began to collect your things.
“I'm going to contact my lawyer to work out a lawsuit against you and stark industries” you stated firmly. Not looking up from where you were pilling your belongings into your bag. “And after that, I never want to see you again.”
With your bag securely packed you turned to make your exit, brushing past Wanda, completely ignoring her gaze refusing to be swayed by any emotions that might try to cloud your judgment.
Wanda's eyes widened in surprise, caught off guard by the sudden shift in tone. "Wait, y/n, please. Don't do this" she begged, reaching out to you, her hand trembling slightly as if trying to hold onto something slipping through her fingers.
“Please. I love you.” Wanda's words hung heavy in the air, and you couldn't help but feel a mixture of emotions wash over you.
You paused for a moment, screwing your eyes shut as your back remained face to Wanda.
The two of you have never said those words before. Mainly because there was no need. You both felt it. You both knew it was there. But hearing it out loud. now. under these circumstances, made it feel like someone was tearing your heart into two.
Without waiting for a response, you turned and walked away, leaving Wanda behind in a silence so loud she felt it might consume her.

February’s Lindsay’s Favorite Things theme is… Sanrio! 🎀
I have so many great memories surrounded by Hello Kitty and the wide world of Sanrio, and yet top of my list is always remembering the times I’ve visited the Sanrio store on 42nd Street in NYC. (Sadly, it is now closed.) First of all, it had a security guard. (That may have both made me nervous AND thrilled me.) I remember stopping in between the years 2000-2007 and the rush of immediately spotting the big selection of little stickers sheets and pens, pencils, and stationery sets. Then when cell phones and cell phone accessories became more popular, seeing the more pricey Hello Kitty-adorned phone cases and charms behind the check out counter, dreaming of being able to afford that souvenir. Visiting in my late teens in 2008, the store redone in a more sleek design - the “Sanrio Luxe” concept — offering mostly expensive items for sale. One year I saved my Christmas and birthday money and went in with the intention of buying one pricey item: one of the giant stuffed animals, or a purse. I came out with a giant Charmmy Kitty plush that lived some epic times in my life, and that I still have today.
During formative years of my life a visit to NYC was never complete without a stop in at the Sanrio store. To me, Sanrio is the epitome of girlhood. 💖 Hello, February!

christiancagigal: I first met Darren when he was 11 or 12 years old, I think I was 24, and we were both in BABES IN ARMS at 42nd Street Moon. My gf at the time was the lead in the show, and Darren essentially lived on the way to her place so, we began to give him rides home instead of his parents having to wait late at night to pick him up. Darren was a kind, warm, charming, and talented soul, even back then. It was fun to get to spend time with him on those post show commutes. A few years later he was at Theater Rhino in a beautiful anthology show of short plays, all of them starring and directed by dear people from my burgeoning theater community, and written by Vadanak Ke. We were surprised to see each other again, and it was lovely to see that the same attributes he had as a kid were growing as he became a man. It’s now, I think 18 years later(?) and it was A BLAST to reconnect with him again, and tell him to his face how I felt so effing proud and happy for him, marriage, family, career, all of it! And of course we had to lovingly take the piss out of each other as we BOTH had stories about the other we had both forgotten ;) Best new Halloween memory ever! Special thank you to M. Graham Smith and A.C.T. for inviting me to join in on the All Hallow’s fun this year with some magick ;) @mgrahamsmith @actsanfrancisco @keikocarreiro @vadanakke @ darrencriss

HAPPY HOGMANAY! What's is Hogmanay you say? Why the roots of Hogmanay reach back to the celebration of the winter solstice among the Norse, as well as incorporating customs from the Gaelic New Year's celebration of Samhain.
In Europe, winter solstice evolved into the ancient celebration of Saturnalia, a great Roman winter festival, where people celebrated completely free of restraint and inhibition. The Vikings celebrated Yule, which later contributed to the Twelve Days of Christmas, or the "Daft Days" (really) as they were sometimes called in Scotland. The winter festival went underground with the Protestant Reformation and ensuing years, but re-emerged near the end of the 17th century. A very Scottish thing Hogmanay. Wear a kilt to this evening's festivities to set the mood right!

192 – The Roman emperor Commodus died on this date (b.161). It's New Year's Eve and, after a long year's journey, we are finally at the end of this year. To be on the safe side, why not stay home and watch old reruns of Guy Lombardo and spend a quiet evening in memory of the emperor Commodus, who called his exceptionally well-endowed cup-bearer "my donkey," and was strangled by an over- enthusiastic wrestler named Narcissus on this day.
In 2000's neo-blood and sandals epic Gladiator, Commodus was portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix in an Academy-Award-nominated performance. The historical character of Commodus is fictionalized in the movie as a deranged megalomaniac who murders Marcus Aurelius to usurp the throne. There is no historical evidence suggesting Marcus Aurelius was murdered, much less by his own son. However the movie removes some of the most bizarre eccentricities of Commodus. The film's protagonist, Maximus Decimus Meridius (played by Russell Crowe) is loosely inspired by Narcissus, and was named so in a previous draft of the screenplay, but as in The Fall of the Roman Empire Commodus is killed in hand-to-hand combat. Dressing Tony Curtis for "Some Like It Hot"
1897 – Orry-Kelly was the professional name of Orry George Kelly (d.1964), a prolific Hollywood costume designer.
He was born in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia, and was known as Jack Kelly. His father William Kelly, was born on the Isle of Man and was a gentleman tailor in Kiama. Orry was a name of an ancient King of Man. Jack Kelly studied art in Sydney, and worked as a tailor's apprentice and window dresser.
He journeyed to New York to pursue an acting career. He shared an apartment there with Charlie Spangles and Cary Grant. Director Gillian Armstrong writes of this time:
''The big secret is that when Orry first got to New York and was trying to get his start, painting murals on walls and selling hand-painted ties, he ended up rooming with a young British actor called Archie Leach. They definitely became lovers and were living together for about five years.''
The job painting murals in a nightclub led to his employment by Fox East Coast studios illustrating titles. He designed costumes and sets for Broadway's Shubert Revues and George White's Scandals. His lover, Archie Leach, went on to become Cary Grant.
Orry-Kelly went to Hollywood in 1932, working for all the major studios (Warner Brothers, Universal, RKO, 20th Century Fox, and MGM), and designed for all the great actresses of the day, including Bette Davis, Kay Francis, Olivia de Havilland, Katharine Hepburn, Dolores del Río, Ava Gardner, Ann Sheridan, Barbara Stanwyck, and Merle Oberon.
He worked on many films now deemed classics, including 42nd Street, The Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, Arsenic and Old Lace, Harvey, Oklahoma!, Auntie Mame, and Some Like It Hot.He won three Academy Awards for Best Costume Design (for An American in Paris, Cole Porter's Les Girls, and Some Like It Hot) and was nominated for a fourth (for Gypsy). A longtime alcoholic, he died of liver cancer in Hollywood. His pallbearers included Cary Grant, Tony Curtis, Billy Wilder and George Cukor and his eulogy was read by Jack Warner. His Academy Awards went to Jack Warner's wife, Ann.

1948 – Joe Dallesandro, is an American actor and Warhol superstar. Although he never became a mainstream film star, Dallesandro is generally considered to be the most famous male sex symbol of American underground films of the 20th century, as well as a sex symbol of gay subculture
Born into a dysfunctional family, Joe was placed in foster homes. Dallesandro began acting out and became aggressive. He repeatedly ran away from his foster home until his father finally relented and allowed him to live with him. At the age of 14, Dallesandro and his brother moved to Queens to live with their paternal grandparents and their father.
At 15, he was expelled from school for punching the principal, who had insulted his father. After his expulsion, Dallesandro began hanging out with gangs and started stealing cars. In once such instance, Dallesandro panicked and smashed the stolen car he was driving through the gate of the Holland Tunnel. He was stopped by a police roadblock and shot once in the leg by police who mistakenly thought he was armed. Dallesandro managed to escape being caught by police, but was later arrested when his father took him to the hospital for his gunshot wound. He was sentenced to Camp Cass Rehabilitation Center for Boys in the Catskills in 1964
The following year, Dallesandro ran away from Camp Cass. He supported himself by prostitution and later nude modeling, appearing most notably in short films and magazine photos for Bob Mizer's Athletic Model Guild.
Dallesandro met Andy Warhol and Paul Morrissey in 1967 while they were shooting Four Stars, and they cast him in the film on the spot. Warhol would later comment "In my movies, everyone's in love with Joe Dallesandro."
Dallesandro played a hustler in his third Warhol film, Flesh (1968), where he had several nude scenes. Flesh became a crossover hit with mainstream audiences, and Dallesandro became the most popular of the Warhol stars. New York Times film critic Vincent Canby wrote of him: "His physique is so magnificently shaped that men as well as women become disconnected at the sight of him."
Tumblr media
A Warhol photograph of the crotch bulge of Dallesandro's tight blue jeans graces the famous cover of the Rolling Stones album Sticky Fingers. Dallesandro explained to biographer Michael Ferguson, "It was just out of a collection of junk photos that Andy pulled from. He didn't pull it out for the design or anything, it was just the first one he got that he felt was the right shape to fit what he wanted to use for the fly."
As Dallesandro's underground fame began to cross over into the popular culture, he graced the cover of Rolling Stone in April 1971. He was also photographed by some of the top celebrity photographers of the time.
He continued to star in films made mainly in France and Italy for the rest of the decade, returning to America in the 1980s. He made several mainstream films during the 1980s and 1990s. One of his first notable roles was that of 1920s gangster Lucky Luciano in Francis Coppola's The Cotton Club. He also had roles in Critical Condition (1987), Sunset (1988) , Guncrazy (1992), Cry-Baby (1990), and The Limey.
In addition to films, Dallesandro has also worked in television. In 1986, he co-starred in the ABC drama series Fortune Dane. The series lasted only five episodes. Dallesandro has also made guest appearances on Wiseguy, Miami Vice, and Matlock.
In 2009, Dallesandro wrote and produced the documentary film Little Joe. The film chronicles Dallesandro's life and career.
Dallesandro, who identifies himself as bisexual, has been married three times and has two children. He is semi-retired from acting, and currently manages an apartment building in Los Angeles.

1948 – The American singer Donna Summer, was born on this date (d.2012). She was an American singer, songwriter and artist, best known for a string of disco hits in the late 1970s that earned her the title "Queen Of Disco" and as one of the few disco-based artists to have longevity on the charts through the late 1980s and beyond.
The question with Donna Summer is, "is she or isn't she?" Homophobic that is!
In the mid 1980s, rumors began circulating that Summer had allegedly made anti-gay comments regarding the AIDS epidemic as being a punishment from God for homosexuality. The fallout from the alleged quote had a significantly negative impact on Summer's career, which saw thousands of her records being returned to her record company by angered fans. However, Summer denied making any such remarks and many years later she filed a lawsuit against New York magazine when it reprinted the rumors as fact, just as Summer was about to release her latest album Mistaken Identity in 1991. According to an A&E Biography program in which Summer participated in 1995, the lawsuit was settled out of court with neither side discussing details of the settlement.
D.L. Groover of Houston's OutSmart magazine wrote that after a 1983 concert in Atlantic City, Summer was talking to the fans, as she liked to do at this first- comeback point in her career. A man with AIDS asked her to pray for him, because he knew of her born-again Christian beliefs, and she said she would be delighted. Someone else piped up that she was being hypocritical. At that point, all accounts get fuzzy and overblown, but every witness says that the heated situation deteriorated, with many outraged patrons shouting as they left the auditorium. In more than one account, Summer said that AIDS appeared in the gay community because of its reckless lifestyle... but did not say that AIDS was God's punishment. She and the gay fan prayed together, she asked him to turn his life to Christ, and she embraced him - a courageous act at a time when most people would have run screaming from the room to get away from someone with the deadly disease.
For her part Summer told The Advocate in 1989 that "A couple of the people I write with are gay, and they have been ever since I met them. What people want to do with their bodies is their personal preference. I'm not going to stand in judgment about what the Bible says about someone else's life. I've got things in my life I've got to clean up. What's in your life is your business." Make of that what you will.

Rick Sandford as Ben Barker
1950 – Rick Sandford (d.1995) was a documentary research assistant, editor and actor of gay erotic movies and author.
Rick Steven Sandford was born in Denver, Colorado, and grew up in the Lake Tahoe area. His early difficulties learning to read led his parents to enroll him in a private school.
After his graduation in 1969, he first went to Los Angeles on vacation, to see the musical, Hair and the Russian motion picture version of War and Peace, and after 1972, Sandford remained in Los Angeles employed in various positions, from an usher at Grauman's Chinese Theatre to a television show stand-in.
In 1977 he met Josh Becker, American writer and director, of films and television, who would become his long-time friend, according to Becker, Sandford only heterosexual friend.
Initially living in a bungalow behind a house in West Hollywood, Sandford was evicted and with his best friend, Stacey, with whom he had grown up in Reno, he moved into a one-bedroom apartment at 666 N. Van Ness.
Sandford received credit as research assistant on 50 Golden Years of Oscar: the Official History of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and Ronald Haver's David O. Selznick's Hollywood. Sandford served as assistant on the 1990 documentary Hollywood Mavericks.
Sandford appeared on television shows and in motion pictures as an extra and in a few bit parts: in episodes of Police Woman in 1974 and Step by Step in 1991. During the late 1970s and early 1980s he worked as an editor on 3 gay erotic films and appeared as Benjamin Barker or Ben Barker in 13 gay erotic motion pictures including Kip Noll and the Westside Boys, Rear Deliveries, Skin Deep, The Class of '84 Part 2 Jocks, Gold Rush Boys, The Boys of San Francisco, A Night at Halsted's, and Games. In the mid 1980s, Don Bachardy sketched Sandford for his book, Drawing of the Male Nude; both Bachardy and his partner Christopher Isherwood were friends with Sandford. During this time, Sandford introduced Bachardy and Isherwood to Yale-trained actor Peter Evans and his then lover Craig Lucas. Sandford and Lucas had a fling, and Lucas remembered
"He came to New York with a strip show. To [the song] 'Another Hundred People' from 'Company', he arrived onstage with a suitcase, and met invisible New Yorkers, stripping for them, looking for love. Afterward, we had to wait while older men went into his dressing room to make appointments. Or something."
In 1991, his short story Forster & Rosenthal Reevaluated: An Investigative Report was published. In 1994, another of his short stories, Purim was published. Two more of Sandford's short stories were published posthumously, The Gospel Of Bartholemew Legate: Three Fragments and Manifest White. In 2000, his novel, Boys Across the Street was published, also posthumously.
Tumblr media
Boys Across the Street is a candidly hilarious look at the gay life of Rick, an exporn star, who lives near a boy's Hasidic school, as he becomes obsessed with building relationships with the boys, leading to a fascination with Hasidism, which reviles his sexual orientation.
Sandford died of AIDS during the evening of September 28, 1995.

1969 – The first performance of The Cockettes took place on New Years Eve 1969, at the Palace Theatre in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood and soon became a "must-see" for San Francisco's hip gay community, combining LSD-influenced dancing, set design, costumes and their own versions of show tunes (or original tunes in the same vein). Initially, shows were performed every six weeks, performing on stage prior to the Saturday midnight "Nocturnal Dream Show" of underground films at the Palace Theatre. Show titles included Gone With the Showboat to Oklahoma, Tinsel Tarts In A Hot Coma, Journey to the Center of Uranus, Smacky & Our Gang, Hollywood Babylon and Pearls Over Shanghai.
Word quickly got out that nothing like these shows had ever been seen before, and within a few months the Cockettes were getting enormous attention from the media. Not only hippie magazines, such as Earth and Rolling Stone, wanted stories on the Cockettes, but also mainstream magazines such as Look, Life and Esquire were anxious to do features as well. The Cockettes were the subject of a documentary called, of course, The Cockettes. If you haven't seen it, do. Torrent users can find it on isoHunt.com

List of events that occurred from 1980 to 1988 in Earth-18104. The story behind these events is not completely complete, some are well summarized. Most of these events happening here are taken by other medias, like the movies and the comics, but doesn't follow Marvel Canon or the time-line established so faithfully, and include stories of my OCs.
The (N) at the end of names serves to indicate character births. I will include more events as I write more about the characters.

• Banner was irradiated with highly charged radioactive particles, which altered his body, causing him to frequently transform into the immensely powerful humanoid monster known as "The Hulk".
• Eventually, Henry Pym (22) became the hardest-working biochemist in the world, but the lack of innovation in his experiments eventually became too much for him.
• While working on a development program paid for by the Roxxon Oil Company, Pym was distracted by an ant farm and when his employer picked up on the case, Pym finally lost his temper.
• Grumbling about not being able to use his imagination, Pym angrily threw the ant farm across the room and quit his job.
• That same night he met with Maria Trovaya, who took him to the beach to relax. Lying in the sand, Pym expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life with her, just enjoying her presence.
• Maria joked about Pym being a "very hard-working ant" and said she doubted he would know how to relax if it weren't for her.
• Back at his apartment, Henry was inspired by Maria's words and his father's motto and decided to use his scientific prowess to try and fight crime while continuing to create his size-changing formula.
• Using ants as an example, he began studying entomology and began experimenting to find a way to reduce objects to "ant size" as well as restore them to normal.
1986 -

• One night, a strange man approached Johnny and offered him to sell his soul in exchange for Barton's health. Skeptical, Johnny accepted, and the next morning Barton was cured of cancer and gave Johnny his favorite motorcycle and let him go away with his beloved Roxanne.
• Despite the agreement, Barton would die almost instantly afterwards while attempting to set a new world record with a 22-car jump. About to leave Carnival, Johnny heard of his father's death and was devastated and went after the man he made the deal with and discovered that he was a demon, Mephisto.
• That same night, Johnny transformed into Ghost Rider and almost lost his soul to Mephisto, were it not for Roxanne's timely intervention proclaiming her love for him and temporarily driving Mephisto away through her purity of feelings.
• Realizing he could never free himself from his curse, he abandoned the Carnival where he grew up, taking Roxanne with him. The two would continue traveling the West seeking to escape Mephisto and remain safe.

• Stark Industries designs the Helicarrier designs for SHIELD.
• After months of work Henry Pym finally discovered what he called Pym Particles, which at the time he distilled into a chemical formula that, when exposed to the skin, caused objects to shrink in size, and a specially made antidote could restore them to normal.
• After successfully shrinking a chair, Pym presented his discovery to the Scientific Research and Development Committee.
• By displaying the shrunken chair, Pym's ideas were ridiculed, and when he accidentally mentioned a possible military application for his formula, the humanitarian committee rejected his grant.
• Leaving the committee, he met with Dr. Vernon Van Dyne, who wanted to obtain funding for his own invention, a gamma ray beam that he believes would allow him to contact worlds other than Earth's solar system.
• Normally accompanying her father to scientific meetings, Janet Van Dyne (20) met up with Pym.
• Expressing her attraction to the young man, she invited him to dinner when they first met and he quickly declined, saying he already had someone he was interested in.

• Faced with imminent death and desperate to survive, Tony found the inspiration he needed to create the miniaturized arc reactor to power an electromagnet that held shrapnel from his heart.
• However, the arc reactor had another purpose - it would power Tony's escape plan and revolutionize modern weaponry.
• After coming of age, Angelo Unuscione (18) moved to North America and legally changed his name to Gunther Bain. He used his ability to create a virtually impenetrable force field to launch a career as a flamboyant and invincible costumed fighter known by the stage name Unus the Untouchable.
• Upon completion, Natalia Romanoff (25) was injected with the "Soviet Spider-Soldier Serum." Survival was not guaranteed, but she proved capable of handling it.
• Transformed into Black Widow, Natalia joined the service as an assassin, seductress, spy and saboteur. She often worked alone, but also carried out missions with other Black Widows and the Winter Soldier, with whom she began a secret relationship.
• (X-Men - Iceman)
• May 5 - Bobby Drake's powers manifested again during his 10th birthday. He accidentally froze his pool while his parents were cooking burgers; when they returned to the yard, they found their son skating on the frozen water.
• William and Madeline immediately knew that their son was something different than they thought, something more like the superhumans appearing on TV lately. Concerned for his safety, they told Bobby to be careful with his powers because others would fear them.
• Bobby, on the other hand, found the idea of being a "superhero" very exciting. After this accident he began to train his powers in secret and little by little he learned how to cover his body with snow.
• (June)
• Tony Stark returns to the United States.
• After Iron Man's debut, Clint Barton (21) decided to become a vigilante, using his archery skills to fight crime.
• Just a few months after his debut as "Hawkeye" Clint Barton was handpicked by SHIELD director Colonel Nick Fury for his skills, becoming one of SHIELD's most skilled agents, where he served alongside Agent Mockingbird, Barbara Morse (23).
1988 -
• (February)
• Warren Worthington III (12) was enrolled at St. Joe's Catholic School. There he continued to excel in sports, breaking the high jump record.
• Henry McCoy (14) attended Bard College. Despite being a promising and intelligent student, his mutation made him a target for bullies; even teachers often ignored him.
• One day, when he was being harassed by some of his classmates, Henry was pushed into traffic. He was saved from a fatal accident thanks to his agility. Upon witnessing this, the coach of the local football team became determined to make Henry play for the Bobcats, the school team.
• Henry became an instant star on the field, winning game after game and becoming a rising star.
• (EVENT - Ant Man)
• After many more tests, Henry Pym (25) decided to foolishly test the Pym Particles on himself, shrinking in size, despite protests from his girlfriend Maria Trovaya.
• He ended up being chased by a mouse and ran out of the house, where he stumbled upon an anthill. Fortunately he was found by Maria, who took him back into the house and helped him find the growth formula to restore himself to normal.
• To celebrate his victory in his project, Maria took him out to dinner.
• At the restaurant, the two were interrupted by Janet van Dyne, who was surprised to discover that Pym actually had someone in his life.
• Annoyed by Janet's presence, Henry tried to dismiss her, but changed his mind when he saw that she was accompanied by Janet's father.
• While Maria was upset about the interruption of her meeting, Pym invited the van Dynes to join them and explained his research, and although Vernon was unimpressed, Janet became even more enamored with Pym, which drew Maria's fury, who left the restaurant without speaking to Pym.
• Confused by the turn of events, Pym tried to talk to Maria, but she ignored him and went home. Embarrassed by her behavior, Janet tried to apologize as well but Pym left angrily.
• For the next few weeks, he did not hear from Maria and continued to study and learn how ants communicated.
• (May)
• Henry Pym then began designing a special communications helmet that allowed him to communicate with ants, as well as a suit woven from Unstable Molecules that protected him from insect bites.
• Testing these new inventions, Pym found himself in danger when he frantically tried to find the proper frequency to make the ants obey his commands.
• An ant failed to fall under his control, and when it attacked, Henry was shocked to discover that although he had shrunk in size, he still retained his average strength that he had at normal height and was easily able to fight the ant.
• Trying to get closer to Henry, Janet offered to finance his research, which made her closer to the scientist, much to Maria Trovaya's anger. Henry, on the other hand, felt a genuine friendship with the young woman and amused her with all his latest ant discoveries.
• Henry first became Ant-Man for the purpose of fighting crime, when he took a government position trying to develop a way to make people immune to radioactivity. The notes on this formula were the target of a group of spies who tied up Henry's colleagues.
• Unwilling to divulge any information, Pym was locked in an office until he was ready to speak. This allowed Henry to use his formula to decrease from size and, like Ant-Man, rescue his colleagues. Using his control helmet, he commanded an army of ants to help untie his fellow scientists and then attacked the spies.
• The spies panicked from all the insect bites and were soon incapacitated and tied up by scientists who had no idea how they broke free or what happened to their captors. Ant-Man silently escaped and returned to his normal size.
• After this, as Ant-Man, Pym established a connection with law enforcement in New York City and developed technology that allowed him to learn about ongoing crimes and police activities through a network of ants.
• (August 6, Saturday)
• (Summers' Incident)
• The Summers family was returning home from a family vacation in Christopher's old private plane.
• Scott (12), Alex (10) and Gabriel (6) were sleeping when the plane caught fire and began to fall. His mother woke them up and tied them to the same parachute, then pushed them out.
• Scott had trouble opening the parachute and they were already very close to the ground. He managed to protect his brothers from the fall, but ended up suffering a major impact, hitting his head on the ground and breaking his legs.
• Upon seeing Scott's injury and Gabriel's dispair, Alex ran to find help. After telling police about the incident and Scott receiving medical help, Alex and Gabriel taken in by different foster families, separated from their older brother.
• The head injury damaged the part of Scott's brain that would allow him to control his optic blasts. When he woke up in the hospital, he felt extreme sensitivity to light and intense pain in his eyes.
• (August 11, Wednesday)
• A few days later Scott still didn't know where his brother was and couldn't call his grandparents to let them know his situation.
• Enraged, he accidentally launched an optical blast that destroyed several floors and the hospital's roof. Soon afterwards he fell into a coma.
• Alex Summers was placed in the care of Andrew and Joanna Blanding, being raised alongside their daughter Haley. Alex was pressured to act as a replacement for Todd, the couple's son who had died years ago, which he tried to do as best he could.
• For a long time, he was frustrated because no one had information about his parents or siblings, and he could not communicate with his grandparents, often failing to remember where they lived.
• After a few years living with the Blandings, Alex grew up and gradually forgot about his old life, becoming unaware of the existence of his powers.
• Charles Xavier (50) and Moira MacTaggert heard about Scott Summers and visited him in hospital, hoping he would wake up one day so they could take him to Graymalkin Manor.
• (August 20, Saturday)
• While on leave from the United States Marine Corps, Frank Castle (32) met a woman named Maria, with whom he instantly fell in love.
• (September 1, Thursday)
• (EVENT Ant-Man and Wasp)
• By this time, Henry Pym was developing a way to graft a wasp's wings and antenna onto a human body, which would protrude from their bodies once shrunk by Pym Particles
• When Dr. Vernon Van Dyne perfected a gamma-ray beam device, there was an accident in his laboratory. A fire broke out, causing an explosion that collapsed the entire building beneath Vernon.
• Although the authorities warned Janet that it was an accident, she was not completely convinced and called Henry Pym for help. As Ant-Man, Pym investigated the murder and was surprised by Van Dyne's bravery in wanting to avenge his father when they discovered that Vernon had in fact been murdered.
• Pym and Maria became closer to Janet during her time of mourning, as they continued to deal with crime on the streets.
• As a crime-fighting duo, Ant-Man and the Wasp have fought many villains. The Wasp, with her smart and cheerful attitude, proved crucially beneficial to Ant-Man's career, as she displayed masterful competence as a superhero.
• Deciding to reveal his secret identity to Van Dyne, Henry developed a suit with synthetic wings and antennae and began experimenting directly on Janet, exposing her to Pym particles and teaching her how to use the Wasp suit.
• Additionally, in between her adventures, she constantly expressed her desire to become romantically involved with Pym, but continued to be rejected because he was still in love with Maria.
• With a growing reputation as a charismatic celebrity, the Wasp also frequently entertained fans, hospital patients, and even Henry Pym and Maria Trovaya, telling them various fantasy stories
• (November)
• Three months after they met, Maria informed Frank Castle that she was pregnant, offering him the chance to leave as she was willing to raise the child alone, only for Castle to propose to her, resulting in their marriage. Months later their first daughter, Lisa, was born.

Propaganda
Ruby Myers (Typist Girl, Cinema Queen)— I just recently saw a documentary about her and thought that besides being really pretty, she had a very interesting life. She was born in the early 1900s in India to a Baghdadi Jewish family, and became the first woman to act in an Indian silent film. In the 1930s she started her own film production house, Rubi Pics, way before most female producers in Hollywood broke through. More info can be found in this Golden Globes webpage on her life [link]
This is round 2 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]

Pick Yourself Up, Swing Time 1936 (Everyone's seen this one but by god you are going to see it AGAIN!)
youtube
Shall We Dance, 1937 (duet begins at 2:34)
youtube
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Roberta 1935 (There's just something about Ginger Rogers in a slick black dress man)
youtube
The Continental, The Gay Divorcee 1934
youtube
God she's MAGIC in this one.

Gift link, no paywall.  ‘What determined the character of a great theater wasn’t the films, or even the location, but the people, the crowd. Ambience was key and library silence was not necessarily observed. There were the ornery regulars at the Museum of Modern Art, the smell of tuna fish sandwiches filling the auditorium. But for audience participation, nothing matched 42nd Street, a.k.a. the Deuce. Redevelopment propaganda said the street’s theaters existed primarily for porn, but for us, the place functioned as a nonstop genre film festival, with westerns (heavy on the spaghetti) at the Times Square Theater, action pictures at the Selwyn, horror at the Lyric and “foreign” fare at the Apollo. Anything could happen there.’
