She Quit Her PR Job to Become a Yoga Teacher. Here’s Why (VIDEO)
The feeling of being “stuck” in your job, relationship, or financial and life situation is one that so many people around the world can relate to. We call lucky the people who find their passion and pursue it, thinking, “I wish I could do that.”   Paula from Argentina had a similar story…until she made the decision to change the narrative and her life.   “I worked in a publicity agency for a long time and I got very tired of that kind of living. I wanted to change and get more connected with myself, my body and other people, so I decided to become a yoga teacher. Many people think that doing yoga is just making beautiful postures, but being in yoga is about being respectful of other people and caring for them.”   Paula’s story is part of the 365 Docobites—a mini-documentary project and collection of 365 short stories of strangers around the world. Hers is just one of the many inspiring ones that remind us it’s never too late to start your own pursuit of passion.   Watch the video above to learn more about Paula and why she says “For me, yoga is the key to happiness.”   Video credit: 365Docobites

Inspireren of shockeren?

“I started this because I love the power of transformation. Body painting allows you to be someone, or something, else. My problem was that I was always trying to control every aspect of my life, and you just can’t do that. This art has helped me learn how to let things go.”

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT 📢
365 docobites to air on SBS2 📺
Hi guys, Epiphany & Carl here 👫
It's been just over a year since we filmed and posted our 365th docobite & now the whole series is going to air on Australian Television on SBS2, one episode a day for an entire year, starting on June 19th at 6:30pm 👏
We're so thrilled to share this news with everyone as its been a long road to this point. What's so great is that all the messages in these docobites about love, family, compassion, perseverance, inspiration and happiness are going to reach so many more people! 🤗
Our hopes for these films, these peoples stories, has always been for them to make a difference and help people understand each other and care for one another 💕 so now that they'll be airing on SBS2 they'll have so much more potential to do just that.
So what can you do? Keep your 👀 out for the docobites, watch them, and keep sharing what you learn so that the messages can reach even more people!
We want to thank every one who was involved in this series, who was brave enough to share their story with us, and all of you who gave their time to watch and learn something about one another 🌏
If you're not in Australia you can of course always catch up on the films or our latest news on our website 😊
We have also been working on some other ways to spread these films further and can't wait to share some more big announcements with you very soon 👍
As always thank you for your eyes, ears and curiosity ✌

I was a bit nervous, and I wasn’t sure if I'd understand people because of the dialect, but I’ve actually had the best time. Moving to another country for a year has taught me so much, but the main thing it has done is put the way I live into perspective. It’s helped me to enjoy my life, and to stop worrying about the unimportant things so much.

I like the uniqueness of them and to be able to partake in them. Being raised around so many different cultures here in the UK has meant I’ve spent time in both churches and mosques. Of course my family was faced with racism at times, I remember once we had a lit firework thrown through our door, but what I also remember is that it was the other English people around us that came together to help. They looked after us, reported it to the police, they even put all the evidence together. It made me realise if one or two people have prejudice views, everybody else isn’t like that.
People won’t always tell you what they’re thinking, but if you scratch beneath the surface most of it is just fear. It’s not racism in the sense that they hate you because of who you are, it’s fear. They don’t want to lose their culture, the same way I don’t want to lose mine.
I’d love to create a society where nobody feels like a second-class citizen, I believe in unity through diversity. Our faith, our religion, that doesn’t matter, my husband is of a different faith and it doesn’t stop us from being a family, it doesn’t get in the way at all. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is your humanity.

“The bagpipes were not actually invented in Scotland. They were invented in Egypt or Iran and taken through Europe by the Romans, that’s why all through Europe you can find different versions and interpretations of the bagpipes. In Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Turkey - they all have them. It’s great how such a small thing can connect so many of us.”

“People think it’s more of a girl job, but I’ve always loved working in this flower shop. We are open 24 hours a day, so even if someone does something wrong in the middle of the night, and they feel guilty, they can buy our flowers and we can help save their marriage. I don’t personally give flowers when I feel guilty, I give them when everything is great.”

“We actually all met at school and then went to work together in a news station.” “We worked on everything from dogs with sunglasses to pieces of serious journalism.” “We worked on one piece that was about a child molester. He actually ended up confessing to molesting at least 70 children, all around the country, over many years. After we aired the show many women came forward as his victims and he is now in jail.” “The show is the reason he is in jail.” “It really makes us feel important that we were a part of it, it makes us feel like we are doing something good.”

"My parents worked in a home for the mentally ill, and I grew up there. Because I was a child I didn’t have any assumptions or judgments about anyone, I just had openness. Sure it was alarming at times but it was also really wonderful, it can be a really beautiful thing, all of that struggle sometimes. What I remember most about the people there was their humor, that no matter what, a human being can be made to laugh."

Humans of Amsterdam & 365 docobites in The Middle East
In Febuary 2015, 365 docobites and Humans of Amsterdam collaborated on a trip to The Middle East. With HOA taking photos and 365 docobites capturing film, the 2 week trip was a chance to give people an insight into what life is really like in the extremely volatile region.

“When I read a book I usually connect with a character that I can see myself in. I imagine I am in their world and am living like they do, and I am sad when I close the book because the story is over. You can run away from reality in a book. I was bullied as a kid, I was a little weirdo, but by reading I discovered I wasn’t the only one who didn’t fit in. Books helped my to get through that period in my life, my best friends are books.”
