a zutara drabble
HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS TO MY DEAREST @hneyteacup. I wrote a birthday drabble inspired by one of your faves, SPUFFY. I however have never seen Buffy and in fact I just found out the fate of Spuffy approximately 30 seconds ago lol, BUT STILL, this drabble is inspired by them, for you 💕 HBD!!!! ILY!

The others might buy Zuko’s little transformation, but not Katara.
She knows exactly how sympathetic he can make his sorry life seem, all in the pursuit of Fire Nation supremacy.
So that’s why she’s been interrogating Zuko in his room for the past 15 minutes. She’s made him promise he won’t fire bend at her, and she did not feel a tinge of regret when he frowned and said he would never, sounding almost hurt.
Even so, Katara stands at the ready in front of him, hands sheathed in water just in case Zuko decides to break her rule.
“So you’re telling me you saw the soldiers that were following us back in Fire Fountain City. And yet you can’t describe them?” she asks, voice dripping with disdain.
Zuko groans and rolls his eyes, almost as if this was nothing more than an annoying hassle for him rather than the serious interrogation it was. He waits a beat, staring angrily at the floor, before he lifts his head to meet her eyes.
“Well, they were human,” he says, voice annoyingly sweet. “Two legs. Two arms.”
Katara scowls.
“They were wearing helmets,” Zuko says in exasperation. “Am I supposed to be able to recognize soldiers by the way they walk?”
“Maybe!”
At this point, Sokka enters with a steaming cup of tea. He takes one look between the two—the scowl on the prince’s face and the murderous intent on Katara’s, and mutters, “Not sure you know what you’re doing, sis.”
At this, Katara transfers her glare to her brother, though he only rolls his eyes too.
Katara huffs and takes the tea that Sokka brought, silently dismissing him. Sokka sends what seems to be an apologetic look (traitor!) to Zuko before wordlessly exiting.
“It’s about time,” says Zuko when Katara hands him the mug of tea. “Hope he got it warm enough, since you’re forbidding me from bending.”
Katara ignores him. “How did you even get here?” she snaps, hoping that asking this question for the umpteenth time will expose how he’d been following them for weeks (which was likely!) or how he’d kidnapped some of their friends to get their location (even more likely!).
“I told you; I stole a war balloon and followed you from Caldera.” He takes a sip of his tea and sighs. “I’m done. Let me talk to Aang.”
“Not yet! I’m not done!”
Zuko purses his lips but doesn’t argue any longer.
“How did you break into the North Pole?” Katara finally asks.
Really? Zuko’s expression seems to ask.
For some reason, he smirks at her. “Hmm, I’m not sure.”
“Tell me.”
“I’m trying to remember,” he says, putting down his tea to make a show of tapping his chin. “It was very traumatic.”
“How long are you going to pull this crap?”
“How long are you going to keep me prisoner in my own room?”
Katara sniffs. “I’m not leaving you alone until you tell me something worthwhile.” Until he proves to her that allowing him to stay here will have some sort of benefit.
“Fine,” Zuko says, lying back and stretching out on his bed. One arm holds his head up as he watches Katara over his nose. “We can stay here all day and all night, with you—what did you call it?—interrogating me.” He smirks again, the crooked expression on his face downright infuriating.
Katara abruptly changes tactics, crossing her arms and stepping toward him, the water falling from her hands in large splashes that she ignores. “You know what, I don’t think you want me to leave you alone,” she says slowly, her lip curling in satisfaction. “I’m the only one who will talk to you, anyway.”
Zuko’s smirk falls, and Katara feels a little flame of triumph in her chest roar to life.
“Right, I don’t want you to leave me alone,” he parrots, the bite back in his voice. “I definitely want to be constantly reminded how much you hate me.”
Katara does not feel another twinge of regret. She does not push anything away.
Instead, she falls to her knees with a mocking gasp.
“Does his highness require better accommodations?” she says, her voice warbling. “Better amenities?”
“Katara—” Zuko says, unamused.
“An innocent victim to burn, perhaps?”
“Katara, please—” Zuko says, voice more serious. But she keeps going.
“Do you require a maiden before you cooperate?” she taunts, crawling toward him and exposing her neck. “What about me? Will I do?”
At this point, Zuko is exhaling smoke, but he’s not bending. She wonders how far she can goad him. She crawls closer until she’s at the edge of his bed and mockingly reaching toward him.
“Please, your highness, what must we do to please you?!” she all but shrieks, vaguely feeling like she would make a great actress as Zuko slowly shakes his head, as if to say What did I do to deserve this?
Well, she can think of a lot of things!
Just when she thinks of naming all those things to Zuko, she suddenly hears the swish of a cloak behind her and the sound of wood hitting the ground. Her and Zuko both turn toward the noise, to see Aang, a confused smile on his face, his ears a little pink, and his glider in his hand.
“Um—Katara—I think I’ll talk to Zuko now,” says Aang slowly, eying her strangely. She’s about to ask what’s up with him before she realizes her arms are sprawled beseechingly toward Zuko, her body half on his bed and half on the ground.
“Right, yes!” she says, getting up daintily and wiping her tunic with her hands as if what she’d been doing was perfectly normal. “I’ll just be—”
Inexplicably, she looks back to Zuko, who is also watching her, bemused.
“Bye!” she squeaks to the room with a hurried wave.
She’s talking to Aang, of course. Not Zuko.
Definitely not Zuko.

ATLA Live Action
Evening ATLA fans and shippers alike, I just wanted to pop in and make a quick post. I've seen a lot of discourse over the past few days and weeks that think both positively and negatively about the Live Action reimagining of the show. I'm personally a Zutara fan, but I've consumed some Kataang content over the years. From a shipping perspective, I think we should all do our best to calm down a bit and try to enjoy whatever is placed before us.
Now - meat and potatoes of this: From an avid enjoyer of ATLA in its various media (no, the comics don't necessarily tickle my fancy, and 2010 didn't exist). Regardless of our shipping backgrounds, Kataang or Zutara mostly, we all enjoy countless retellings of the same story involving the same cast of people. In the past 6 months, I've read around 30 novels worth of the same people falling in love and saving the world alongside incredible friends and family. What's one more fanfiction in the bunch, just one that makes it to a bigger screen? So long as it's good, let's enjoy the content given to us. If this first season is awesome, the big thing we need to be concerned about as a group is whether Netflix produces more episodes.
PS: One thing to note - this is not directed at any one person or post or anything of that sort. I love just about all of ya, and want to encourage you to keep making your loved content of choice. BE CREATIVE! <3

Day 9 of Zutara month, “You’re Married!?”.
This is my first time for an event like this! Sorry if it’s not good or such! I wanted to focus on elderly Zuko 😭 (colours isn’t my speciality, I’m a monochrome artist).
Anyways, I wanted to have Zuko over rock a WT necklace! But I rushed it. I went with the feminine version and not the masculine one that’s made from bone! Now looking, Zuko rocks the blue, like a highlight! Idc what anyones says. Tough tits!
If I get time in future, I’m gonna draw out Zuko’s engagement necklace in my zutara au. Need to draw up patterns/designs. ANYWAYS, HAPPY ZUTARA PPL! HAVE A GREAT DAY/NIGHT 💚

Sooo i was silently stalking the anti zut@ra / pr0 k@taang # and only 1.. only 1 blog pops up 🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣 in the last few days or so with a few likes and sh+t.
While our fandom keeps the entire atla universe alive with our never ending fanart, fan fics, zutara weeks/months and head canons.
Then someone said that both of them (the ‘asker’ and the ‘author’) are glad that in the atla youtube polls that their ship always wins 70/30 something to let ‘everyone’ know that majority is pro their (canon fodder) ship. Their fandom are really clueless that we hardly participate in that nonsense because we’re anti bryke 😆😆.
If they wanted to find out the real deal, their ship originally posted a youtube fanvid of the song ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ 2 years before we did and we got freaking more than a million likes than they is saying something about it.
The one I'm specifically thinking about was a while ago, and they were replying directly to me (cause, I'm not subjecting myself to that side of the fandom willingly), so we're probably not talking about the same person. I just think it's funny that the defenders of the canon ship are using fan art. It's almost like they KNOW Kataang is trash in canon.
Also, given the impossible number of voters on those polls, I think it's safe to say they're mostly bots. If you really want to get their panties bunched, talk about how many more Zutara fics there are than Kataang.

Last Day to Sign Up For Zutara Gift Exchange 2023
The Zutara Gift Exchange 2023 is a fandom event that runs very similarly to a Secret Santa gift exchange. Artists and writers sign up using the AO3 sign up form, and are then given the name and gift wishlist of another participant in the event. They pick a prompt, theme or idea from their giftee’s wishlist and write/draw them a Zutara gift based on the prompt, theme or idea. While they’re hard at work, another anonymous member of the event is busy making them a gift based off the gift wishlist they submitted. At the end of December 2023, all participants of the event submit their works, and all participants receive a lovely Zutara gift as we ring in 2024. What better way to start a new year than with our OTP?
Sign ups are open until tomorrow, 30 November 2023 at 8pm UST (see this time in your local timezone).

On the topic of Zutara fandom stuff that confuses or aggravates me, can we talk about the nonsensical “zutara forever” comments? You don’t know how bizarre it looks for them seeing it under general atla content. Or worse, when it’s under Kataang & Maiko content, or even Katara or Zuko content. Like first of all, what does that even mean? Second of all, the attachment those shippers have to the ship seriously needs to be studied. On a similar note, I also cannot stand how they need to declare Zutara supremacy or they’ll act like they’ll get their Zutara rights taken away or whatever when they enjoy content from any other ship. Like “I love Zutara and think Kataang or Maiko are stinky and bad, but this art is cute (for once).” Like buddy, that’s a backhanded compliment. You’re not getting your Zutara rights revoked if you just say “cute!” and call it a day.
About the random "Zutara forever" comments to "spite" Kataang and Maiko fans, I can kind of "forgive" that kind of behavior when it comes from very young fans, but it's INSANE to see fans that are already in their 30s or 40s doing exactly the same.
Like, buddy, you're a fully grown adult. Haven't you figured out how this works yet? Throwing a tantrum not only makes you look ridiculous, it doesn't even get you the thing you want. Saying "Zutara is better" under content for a rival ship won't change the fact that they're canon, won't make people choose your ship instead, and it will at best annoy other fans, not make them "intimidated" by Zutara's numbers or whatever.
And yeah, the passive-aggressive "compliments" that somehow find a way to insult the thing someone else likes is also super childish and just screams "I've made the ship my entire personality if I don't mention it at every single second I'll notice that I have literally nothing else going for me"

‘Sozin’s Comet, Part 2: The Old Masters’
I love the encounter with June, and how she has dropped the Uncle Lazy for 'creepy uncle' when speaking about Iroh. So those unsolicited advances didn't go unnoticed. Good reason to slap Iroh with 50 extra Jerk Points. And damn that is some heavy Zutara baiting.
I feel like Book 3 commits some of the same crimes as the last few seasons of Game of Thrones. Suddenly, the actual distance between places doesn't matter and travel from Fire Nation to Ba Sing Se barely takes a day. Once again, someone has invented fast travel. And I get that most people won't notice this, but to me it's very jarring and annoying. It gives the feeling of things being rushed.
Okay, unlike the Gaang I am not so happy about encountering this collection of crusty old men with dubious motives. I hate that Pakku is still an asshole to Sokka, and for the sheer gall of approaching Kanna again, Pakku gets 50 more Jerk Points. Also, all these old men are here for something... important? Yeah, the counter siege that was pretty much unnecessary, except to give Iroh bragging rights for having taken Ba Sing Se after all. Iroh is still drinking the kool aid of destiny, only now it has become about taking Ba Sing Se back from the Fire Nation. Convenient how that changed, huh?
I love the little cameos of all the past Avatars (I couldn't help but notice how each and every one made me more interested in them than I was ever interested in Aang) And also just upon this re-watch I realized that I have been channeling Yangchen in all my arguments of what Aang should have done - sacrifice your own spiritual needs for the good of the world. Yes, exactly! That would have actually taught Aang a very important lesson for the future. Also, for talking smack about Kyoshi, Aang gets 30 Jerk Points. She ushered in an era of peace, you judgey little asshat.
I love that it was Katara who came to reassure Zuko in his moment of doubt before speaking with Iroh. Katara extending her compassion to Zuko means that she has truly accepted him as a friend, and it is just a beautiful moment. As is the reunion between Iroh and Zuko, not going to lie.
I don't care about Iroh's excuses of not fighting Ozai, sorry. History will see it as a brother fighting a brother for power. Yeah, what will history see Zuko fighting Azula for? Also, suddenly Iroh sees that becoming the Fire Lord is Zuko's destiny... I don't know where to begin with this contradictory old man. Although... I'll be honest, Iroh doesn't actually tell Zuko to fight Azula. He just tells Zuko that he needs to be in place when Ozai goes down. (Also how the fuck does Iroh know that Azula didn't go with Ozai and stayed in capital, like news don't travel THAT quickly) Still, for all the convenient destiny bullshit and evasiveness about facing Ozai, I'm going to slap Iroh for 100 more Jerk Points.
And sorry, but Zuko's comment about putting Azula in her place was always going to get him points. I really wish he hadn't phrased it that way, it's... not good. 120 Jerk Points.

Hi guys!
There are a lot of new people here, so I guess I’m up for an intro (and I can’t find my previous intro post, so...)
Hi, I’m Orlissa!
30, white (Hungarian-German), straight, feminist, pro-choice, cis woman, living in Budapest. I’m a phd student, studying changing gender representation in mainstream superhero narratives, somewhat focusing on the male/female gaze. I’m supposed to finish my dissertation in a couple of months, so please, don’t ask how it is going XD I also teach some classes at my university, and work as a translator. I mostly translate young adult and fantasy books, but I’ve tried my hand at different genres as well.
I’ve been writing fanfiction since I was 12, and minored in creative writing during my BA. My current fandom is Shadow and Bone (Darklina), but I’ve been somewhat known in fandoms such as AoS (Skyeward), A:tLA (Zutara), and Vampire Academy (Romitri), to mention a few. I’m especially known of my fluff.
I’m a cat person, and a somewhat-practicing Wiccan (I observe the Sabats. I observe as they go by). I adore fashion history and especially corsetry, and will have a fit over bad costuming in period dramas. I like to crochet, like a hip grandma. I like comics, art, good books, summer, and pink.
Some pieces of media I adore: All Souls/A Discovery of Witches, Galavant, The Golden Girls, Miracle Workers, Firefly, the MCU, Mel Brooks’ movies, Disney renaissance, that specific brand of sentimental movies where an oldish woman does whatever makes her happy even if society scoffs at it.
Stuff I don’t like: gore, gratitious violence, frogs and toads, people smoking on the street, fascism, dictators, the hopelessness of the current day and age... You know, the usual stuff.

I *try* to. But if i’m responding i’m not writing, and if I have comments to respond to, it’s probably because the writing muses have been kind to me, and I would rather take advantage of that while it lasts. And then they pile up and it’s been so long it feels rude to reply? Idk. It’s hard to explain but I do 100% read and love every comment I get and they motivate me SO much!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
All Dragons go to Heaven, by far—it’s my only fic that follows canon events in terms of timeline/character death.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think except for a select few, all my fics have happy endings. ‘Getting Lucky ’ comes to mind because it’s pretty feel good all the way along—’magically meant to be ’ and ‘a princess and a painter’ have happy endings but some angst at the start!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Very rarely—a lot less than I expected tbh, given what I write lol!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Uh. All of it? Like seriously, I’ve done 30+ kink prompts this month alone. I’d say my ‘staples’ are size kink, overstimulation, and unprotected sex. M/M/F threesomes have sort of become a thing with me too. But I’ve done a bit of everything — ABO, M/M, anal, lactation kink, necro, ovi, etc.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I’ve done crossovers in that one story is retold with different characters (cinderalla inspired, hades and persephone inspired, romeo and juliet, etc.) but I’ve never had characters from two different fandoms in one fic.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that i’m aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that i’m aware of—i’ve given people permission, though, so maybe?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I like to think i’ve INSPIRED a few fics before but that is closest i’ve gotten. I would love to do an event where lots of people contribute to a single story, though.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Writing? Daemyra is my <3 But I probably read more Darklina fic than any other. Also a Dramione & Zutara girlie.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
All of them? Kidding. Kind of. My writing inspiration and speed is very fickle, I can write 10k words one day and not type a single thing for the following three weeks. So unless something is fully pre-written when I start to post it, I’m not very confident about it ever getting finished.
BUT that being said, I don’t have any fics that I don’t want to finish or plan to abandon. It is just a matter of time/inspiration/motivation.
The one that seems least likely tho is ‘a prince is born’ simply because the established timeline doesn’t really make sense so it basically has to be fully rewritten and right now that sounds very Not Fun compared to literally everything else i’m working on.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm, maybe variety? I feel like I’m good at exploring the same characters and relationship dynamics no matter the time period or circumstances. And maybe smut? Idk. I’m a very weak person so this is hard to answer.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Ahh this one I can answer: Planning. Structure. Timelines. Consistency. Spelling. Punctuation. Impulsively starting new things and ignoring WIPs.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Not really interested in it. I have enough trouble with english.

I can’t pick because my work is super self indulgent so I like a lot of them for different reasons.

I swear I’m trying to write but idk if I can do day three for zutara month. I love the prompt SO MUCH bur I just don’t have time rn. My schools musical is going until 10:30 pm and I don’t get home until 11 and I have to wake up early so I’m really sorry!!! I’ll be back on track by Monday! When I get the chance, I’ll 100% write for day 3 because I love meet cute SO MUCH!!!!

Monthly Writing and Reading Update
Long time no see Tumblr. I am working towards ending my Super Long Hiatus not because life has slowed down but because I am tired of being on hiatus. That means Monthly writing updates to keep me on track. I'm also posting what I've read this month for the interested. Said updates are below the cut.

WRITING UPDATE
Hybrid Theory
Percy dies in battle. A very tragic death that wasn’t at all lame, thank you. Unfortunately, the gods aren’t done with him yet. Instead of waking up in Charon’s waiting room as he should, Percy wakes up in the courtyard of Hotel Valhalla. Thinking things can’t possibly get worse he runs to Carter Kane for help. In hindsight, that probably wasn’t the best idea he’d ever had.
I’ve not made a lot of progress here since I’ve gone on hiatus... I’ve not been in a good headspace to try to work on it tbh. That being said, I’m drafted to Chapter 27 and outlined to Chapter 30.
World Travelers: A World Around

I’ve drafted to Chapter 5 drafted and outlined to Chapter 12. It will be 21 chapters long. Nothing is posted on AO3 yet.

No ritle. No summary written yet, it’s what it says on the tin.
I just wanted to say I do think about this still. It lives in my brain...just very quietly. I’ve written part of Chapter 1?
Assassinations, Building Nations, and International Relations
The war has been over for a year and the tenuous peace has held. Everyone has gone home and while Team Avatar misses each other, life has been going great. Until Aang gets a mysterious note from Zuko. A midnight trip to the Sun Warriors has much further reaching consequences than anyone could anticipate. But the first, and biggest, item on the agenda is to keep the Fire Lord alive.
This one is suffering from Writers Block TM. I know where I am and where I want to go and I have NO IDEA how to do the between part. That being said I’m drafted to Chapter 13 and outlined to Chapter 14.
White Lotus Buds (Working Title)
Music night washes over Iroh. The crew’s attention on each other means no one notices their allegedly ill prince slipping over the side of the Wani and onto the dock.
Zuko, as The Blue Spirit, is leaving to meet another White Lotus Bud agent to exchange information on the Earth Armies for similar details on Fire Nation troops.
The White Lotus Buds are more successful than Iroh expected. Sometimes he thinks the war would end in days if they left the operatives in charge.
The White Lotus Buds were inspired by Zuko himself. It wasn't difficult to connect The Blue Spirit’s earlier escapades with Zuko. Not once one realized there were connections to make.
Iroh does not know when the sneaking began, though he has his suspicions. Ten year old princes don’t go missing for days on end easily. And there's the ambiguity surrounding Azulon’s death and Ursa’s sudden flight. When it started doesn’t truly matter when Zuko will not speak of it.
Iroh lets himself be drawn into the singing of an old sea shanty. It helps keep an old man awake, which he will need if he wants to be alert for his nephew’s return later that night.
This is a White Lotus!Zuko AU and a Blue Spirit AU and a Zuko joins the Gaang early AU. With lots of Zutara and lots of identity shenanigan's.
I have drafted the first 14 chapters for Book 1. I have outlined the first 22 chapters and have notes for every episode of Book 1. This one won’t post until Book 1 is done because I keep having to rewrite parts of chapters as I go.
When the Dark Comes Rising: Gathering
With another Rising in its infancy the remaining five must gather. As a safeguard the Light left certain defensive measures in place. It us up to Will, Bran and Jane to assemble those defenses. In the process they must discover the loving bonds that will be the foundation for the Circle to come.
This is also not dead. I think about this often. I have drafted to Chapter 12 and outlined to Chapter 14.

No summary as of yet on these. It’s Marvel and Stucky post Civil War. I’m about halfway through?

It's been three years since Sozin's Comet should've returned - and it hasn't. The war drags on, complicated, messy, as the Avatar and his band roam shoring up defenses and helping in small raids.
And in Ba Sing Se, there is no war, or rumors of war. Not even after the Fire Princess took the city in one complicated day. So in the Lower Ring, a young prince and retired prince can continue to work, disguised, silent guardians of the small world they've carved for themselves.
Until an encounter, one night, wrapped in flames, ends that.

12. What makes this Fandom different in a positive way compared to other fandoms
14. Probably the USUK/FrUK shipping wars in the days of yore. This is my second stint in the hetalia fandom; the first one was circa 2015-2017 when it was starting to die down, and I was pretty young and inexperienced, so I heard more about the drama then I really saw, but I think any shipping war is pretty stupid. I was into ATLA early in the pandemic and somehow I got caught up in the Zutara vs. Kataang wars even though I don't really ship either of them, so I've seen how irrational shipping wars make people.
19. Not yet, because I haven't made much, but I'm always terrified of it happening lol. A central plot point in the fic I'm working on now is that Greece is trying to kill Turkey to avenge Byzantium's death, and I preemptively put a disclaimer on the fic that it wasn't a commentary on Greco-Turkish relations just in case someone got mad.
20. I know that Hetalia isn't meant to be taken seriously at all, but I love to see when people do. I'd love to see more people explore the worldbuilding of it, like their immortality; I take it that they can die (ex: falling in the ocean and drowning or something) and then come back, but we know they can also die for real because it happened to Rome and Holy Rome, and I want to know at what point they die for real. What does death mean for them when it works like that? Also, what are the implications of the nation's existence? How much do they identify with humans and human culture, and how much are they seperate from it by virtue of immortality and literally being a political entity? Are they more in charge of their nations, or are they just immortal puppets to their boss of the day? What does family mean to people who cannot die and who are rarely (if ever) biologically connected to each other in the way that humans are? And how have all these things shaped them each individually as characters? Now I'm just listing stuff I like to write about lol.
4. The HRE, Austria, and Prussia were all children together; Austria and Prussia grew up, but Holy Rome, being pretty weak, never did, and so Austria essentially became his caretaker, and watched him wither away from the 30 Years War until finally succumbing to the clusterfuck that is Napoleonic Europe. Austria was so torn up that he ordered the creation of Germany (or the German Confederation) primarily for political reasons, but also maybe as a way to replace Holy Rome as a person. Germany then spent like 1815-1866 torn between what Austria wanted him to be and what Prussia wanted him to be, all while Prussia is slowly taking the reigns from Austria and essentially forcing Germany to grow up too fast into war and conquest, ultimately pitting him against Austria in the Austro-Prussian War. Taking all of my own headcanons into consideration, I just think that Prussia, Austria, and Germany are really interesting characters to examine.
6. It's hard for me to pick a favorite character (Probably Prussia or Romano) but @sailorgreywolf-german has some of the best takes on the HRE I've seen.
12. First of all, there's the fact that you can never leave it, so like the theoretically-immortal characters, it's hard for the fandom to truly be dead. Second of all, the only thing really uniting the fandom is the concept of the show and the loosely-agreed upon characters in it, and you have all of history to work them into, so for a history nut like myself, that mean ideas come fairly easily. I wrote a fic about HRE dying where I briefly mentioned Byzantium throwing Greece off of the wall of Constantinople, so then I wrote a fic about that, and now I'm writing a fic where that wall-yeeting (and the subsequent fall of Constantinople and death of Byzantium) is a big sticking point of Greece's character. Hetalia is the gift that keeps giving lol.

Hi! How about 19, 29, and another one for 30 (since you mentioned having a lot) for the writer's ask game? ^^
Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to wsrite about? Why?
Easiest is Zuko. I don't know why, but his POV comes really easy to me. I think it's because I low-key relate to his deep rooted self-doubt and insecurity... Or maybe he's just fun to mess with. The hardest for me is Usagi Tsukino. I've mentioned it before, but Naoko Takeuchi made a character that somehow manages to combine laziness, naivety, heart and courage in a way that is genuinely compelling. When I try to keep Usagi completely in character, it comes off as sarcastic. I love writing Sailor Moon fic, but my version of Usagi is not Takeuchi's Usagi, and I accept that

I have the first chapter and a half of a Zutara High School AU written. Katara and her family move to a new town so Hakoda can take over his aging uncle's business. On her first day, she meets several new friends, among whom is not Zuko. Him she has a less than pleasant run in with, and they are both soured on each other pretty quickly. Or so it seems. They find themselves in company with each other and eventually start a tentative friendship. Then one day, a dark secret from Katara's past comes out, and suddenly Zuko (and Sokka of course) is the only person Katara has on her side. When her past catches up with her, she has to confront it before her new start is completely ruined. Someone dies. This is another story I'm hoping I can work on soon.
