NOTE: okay, so. considering i’ve been doing a bit more realistic paintings lately, i tried painting dean and oh my, he’s so hard to nail down! idk how yall draw him so often and so realistic. i think he’s too pretty for me to capture him properly lol. anyway, i LOVE his face in this one. he looks so in love i am foaming at the mouth. the whole scene is so *eats it*. anyways — i do believe he was bout to spill his heart out here and confess. i am a firm believer in pining dean therefore yes.

okay okay okay if the difference from script to screen is equal to the difference between dean’s intentions and dean’s words (something there is usually a gap between) what we have from 15x09 to 15x18 is a dean who /thinks/ that he confessed fully and really apologized and that cas rejected /him/ by not reciprocating, and okay cas is still here and there’s bigger fish to fry so let’s just suppress that, and a cas that //heard// dean’s confession and (partial) apology and, whether he fully grasps the romantic implications or not, cannot reciprocate because that would snatch him //away// from dean and his family and therefore we have a post-despair dean who’s trying to square that circle while /grieving/ cas, im gonna jump off a cliff!!!!!!

I’m seeing a lot of hot takes flying around at the moment… some of them i vibe with, and some of them I really don’t… and that’s okay.

What I definitely don’t vibe with is the implication that some opinions are more valid than others based on how long someone has been in the fandom.

There are multiple reasons why someone may have only watched in the last 1-2 years, but some have dived deeper into this trash fire than anything they’ve ever been into ever before. There are multiple people who have been here 5+ years who have completely lost any and all appreciation for the source material and it’s nuance, preferring the think of things only in headcanons and fanon.

Lumping people together based on something as arbitrary as time (when we all know time is a flat circle) seems unfair and unnecessary.

Do you guys see how goddamn emotionally charged this hug is for both of them? Deans holding on for dear life. This hug is the physical embodiment of “I need you. I’ve always needed you.”

Is this hug not a confession in itself?? This hug feels like Dean finally admitting to himself the depth of his feelings for Cas. Because if he doesn’t, Cas might leave again, and that’s unacceptable.
