@rad-roche and @chadfallout76podcast gave me permission to animate her lovely art! This is for the upcoming VoiceAPalooza charity drive for the Alzheimer's Association, there will be a lot amazing voices, new and old, and I am personally hyped to sit down for another radio special!
I had a lot of time to theorize what this special might be about--I'm excited to see if I've hit the mark or strayed far from it ✪ ω ✪
A short breakdown of the process below~
Usually I would share a timelapse with y'all but I forgot to press record :'D
I went back and made some gifs though that hopefully show what I did! It's pretty simple! I took Rad's art and copy-pasted all the parts I wanted to move, then painted under to try and match what would be exposed under that movement. Following that, I had fun adding jolts, smoke, and a little tween! The hardest part for me was nailing down the timing of the gun; that took some tries to make it look natural.
It's Valentine's day! You there, browsing the tag. Have you ever thought 'I like Nick Valentine, but I wish he starred in two novels lovingly written in the prose style of a detective noir from 1943, and so help me God, I don't want to pay a cent for it?' No! Nobody has! What an unusually specific dream!
But it's too late, I've already written them.
More than that, I've filled them with art, too.
If this sounds like something you'd like, you can find the full series (the two books and two small side stories) here.
I keep thinking about the point that hbomb makes about how plagiarists fundamentally don't respect the people they're stealing from. while he brilliantly showcased this by everything he brought up in the video, I do think the most unintentionally damning evidence of this is the lie James Somerton decided to double down on about what happened with Alexander Avila, claiming that he "accidentally" took Avila's video from another "highlight reel" on YouTube, not knowing that the highlight reel was "sourced" from Avila, so it was a "mistake" and he "fixed it".
and I'm just. he says this like if he'd just known it was """sourced""" from Avila he wouldn't have taken it. like it would've been okay to take it otherwise?? like highlight reels themselves don't take time and effort to make????? like if that highlight reel WERE just made by some no name fan on youtube and not by Another YouTuber™️ it would've been fine to just take it with zero fucking credit??????????
"nooo haha I didn't steal from that other respected YouTuber, I actually stole it from someone far less important!!!"
and he decided this was the acceptable lie that's supposed to absolve him from having done anything wrong. what a fucking piece of shit.
