Drake Siblings
Have I read this prompt somewhere or was this a fever dream from my bored mind.
What if, now hear me out.
What if we bring up Dana Winters-Drake (whose confirmed to at least be alive in the DC verse but no one knows where she actually is)
What if instead of when she had a mental breakdown and getting committed to an Bludhaven clinc she wandered away before anyone noticed and by the time Tim or anyone did notice a lot of stuff started happening at once in both Gotham and Bludhaven (Steph dying, The Bludhaven crisis, etc etc)
Tim still tries to find her though but even with best resources it was like she just disappeared into the wilderness and the stress of trying to handle more and more problems get worse.
So when out of the blue, a couple of years later, he gets a call from an unknown number. On his private, only for friends and family, phone and when he answers he meet with a young girls voice on the other end.
A very young, maybe six or seven, girl who informs him about his apparently half-brother Danny Drake-Fenton. And how she loves Danny so, so, so much but knows her home is dangerous for him to be in.
Tim is stunned and before he could question her, she says Danny is Dana and Jack's baby and that her parents had adopted him years ago and put Dana's stuff that the hospital had away for him to look at when he was older but she just had to fight off their lunch from eating her brother and she knows he needs a better place to live and so she snooped around and found Dana's diary and that she had to unscramble the nonsense Dana wrote and found Tim's number with the words 'tell him about his brother Danny' hidden in it. And-
But before she could keep rambling she hears Danny screaming "JAZZY THE MILK WENT BAD AGAIN AND HISSED AT ME!"
Tim is left with silence after hearing Jazz yell to Danny to lock the fridge and step out of the kitchen as she gets the bat.

maddie reading buck’s post cards, the ones he sent from peru, her little brother’s quick, messy handwriting filling up the paper in smudged black ink. talking about bartending and the beach and the spanish he’s learned (adding a his favorite little spanish phrase in parentheses). maddie checking out books on language learning in the library, practicing spanish with the abuelas that come into the hospital who think she’s so sweet. just something to make her feel close to buck but something she could have for herself, too. something new, something she can practice during slow moments on shift, little milestones to look forward to — every rolled r, every new word pronounced right, every conversation she gets to participate in a little easier. and listen, i know she probably had to learn spanish for her job as a first responder in california, but idk. maddie being a language nerd, trying to connect with buck even from a distance when it wasn’t safe to reach out, having something that was entirely hers during a time of her life where she was trapped and powerless is kind of so special to me.

yapping about Briar. fellow Briar enjoyers assemble.
okay okay i don’t make it too obvious (or maybe i do, i wouldn’t know) but briar is my personal favorite character. i think about where the stories of all the characters would go and what their arcs would be a lot, but hers in particular is really important to me.
so i wanna talk about it.
first of all, she’s narcoleptic coded, right. we all know that. but her mom on the other hand reads to me, like, an alcoholic mother? and her dad is just willfully ignorant. either way, there’s a huge sense of neglect going on in that family. i mean go figure why briar would be the one doing most of the work raising her brothers. and of course she’s a party girl, because who’s gonna stop her? her parents? see yeah exactly.
so i don’t think it’s unreasonable to say she doesn’t have very strong parental figures in her life, at least not at home. but, and now you have to really hear me out about this one, i think baba yaga could take up a parental role in her life.
i know it isn’t much, but the seeds for her having at least a hint of a connection with baba yaga are there.
in the webisode “Stark Raven Mad”, baba yaga scolds briar for rambling about her party, and then as the commotion picks up she’s still exercising authority over briar in particular.
Tumblr media
then there’s thronecoming, wherein, when briar is sulking at the dance, upon noticing the picture on the projector, she asks baba yaga for answers, who provides them.
Tumblr media
and then skipping all the way to epic winter, after the girls become a little creeped out by her mannerisms and book it, briar is the one who makes sure to peak back in and give a parting remark.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so i think there’s potential there to be explored. her feeling neglected at home and then finding solace in another adult at school would be neat.
but the fact that it’s baba yaga is important, so just put a pin in that and we’ll circle back to it.
now, i think out of the core four, she was (at least at first) the hardest to actually pin-point what the future of her story could look like. with raven, i think it’s pretty clear her journey is just continuing to combat the prejudices of the world as she fights for change, apple is now pretty much on a path to figuring out her own future as ruler of a kingdom and what that’s going to entail, and maddie is the goofball that’s there to have fun and be supportive along the way.
then there’s briar. and, let me be clear, no, in my mind that girl is not sleeping for 100 years with where things are heading; in the main universe of the story, briar will be free of the sleeping beauty destiny.
but it’s like, if she’s not gonna sleep, what more is there to actually do with her? what direction COULD her life go in? because if she’s no longer fated to sleep 100 years of her life away, then she can’t just party like there’s no tomorrow anymore. she’d need to decide what she actually wants to do with her life.
and i think i have an idea.
i mentioned her narcoleptic coding at the start with intent to bring it up again. see, you might notice that a lot of the fairytale aspects of ever after high can be read as allegories for real-world problems. for example, hunter and ashlynn’s relationship is treated in their world the same way society may look at queer couples or biracial couples. or how raven’s mom being trapped in a mirror is their world equivalent to not paying child support.
with that kind of correlation in mind, i think treating briar’s curse as a condition could open up an interesting opportunity. i think, in their world, curses as a whole could be viewed as a separate branch of medical specialization, with briar spearheading this notion of thought.
we know briar is well-versed in chemythstry already. in the webisode “Briar’s Study Party” she makes note of the fact that she’s been studying forever-after, and she demonstrates enough knowledge in the subject to enthusiastically teach it to her friends, who all end up acing their tests on it as a result.
Tumblr media
i think this is something she could potentially make a career out of. i think she could come to the conclusion that she wants to be able to help break curses for people everywhere, and could pursue learning to develop potions and elixirs to do so.
which could happen under baba yaga’s tutelage.
picture this: briar declares her newfound goal, to which baba yaga offers to teach briar all she knows in order to achieve what she’s set her sights on. briar—with an ounce of hesitance—accepts, and baba yaga officially takes her under her wing with the intent of mastering sorcery.
obviously, she wouldn’t lose who she is in this. she’s still gonna be an impulsive, adrenaline junkie who desperately needs a screentime limit on her mirrorphone. but in this process, she’d be rounded out by baba yaga and would in turn mature a bit from the experience. she’d get serious about life, but she wouldn’t let go of who she is at heart.
this could lead to her becoming the resourceful one in the main group. like on adventures, she’d be able to pull out a potion or whip something up (because i’m not going to let raven’s magic make her too o.p. she’s gotta have limitations) as a solution to problems. she could really have a role that proves useful and important to the story.
that’s my ideal pitch for where to take briar’s character.

Fenton Ethics and Test Tube Babies
In order to get the funding they need for their Ghost stuff, Jack and Maddie Fenton had to do some... rather illegal things when they left college.
One of them was testing alien DNA and seeing if it was compatible with human DNA.
However getting their hands on Superman's DNA or any of the main Leaguers would be far to hard for two up coming scientists and would run the risk of them being caught. Instead they set their sights on some of the younger aliens.
Such as Starfire, or rather Koriand'r.
They manage to get their hands on her DNA, and also her boyfriend (Nightwing) at the time and began to test it. They felt unsure with what they're doing but they needed the funding and in order to make themself feel better with what they're doing they decided if they were test her DNA with someone she was seeing it would be... better for their own conscience (it doesn't make what they're doing okay but they think so)
Eventually they succeeded in the testing! A baby can be made between a human and a alien.
HOWEVER because we know how the Fenton's get, they kind of go ahead of what they were only meant to do, which was just to TEST the compatibility of the DNA. Basically the paper's before the test phase.
With them getting tunnel vision on this project... They create said baby.
Then before they could show off that creating a new baby via test tubes actually works, they were told that the paperwork they were working on were going to be given to a new team, thank you for your work, here is the money for your ghost stuff, and have a good day.
The people who hired them then just leave.... Without knowing about the newly made baby.
Jack and Maddie name the baby Jasmine.
A few years later when little Jazz asks for a sibling... Well they bring out the old test tubes and papers.
And even though Starfire is no longer dating Nightwing, her new partner Red Hood would make a wonderful male donor for their future kid.

stay close, little brother
hen and maddie share a quiet moment of pride about their little brother at the buckley-han wedding.
ao3 link
Hen couldn’t help the mushy feeling she got in her stomach as she looked across the backyard at Buck. He was with Tommy, and nothing in particular was really happening, but the way they were standing so close together made her smile to herself.
Buck’s recent journey into the great big world of queerness had been a joy to watch, if she was honest. She would never forget the quiet way Buck had sidled up to her at the firehouse, a coy look on his face as he admitted he’d kissed someone and was going on date. The gender neutrality of it all had set Hen’s internal queer alarms off, but she’d waited for Buck to admit – shyly, but in a way so sugar sweet it had made her teeth ache – that he had kissed another man, and that he was bisexual, actually.
It's not that you had to have a crisis about your sexuality – it wasn’t a requirement, by any stretch of the imagination – but Hen had sort of (rightly, or wrongly) expected Buck to have at least a bit of a crisis about it. Buck couldn’t commit to changing his coffee order without having some sort of mid-level crisis about it, so sue her for thinking that something as great and big as his own sexuality might stir up a few confused feelings. But – Buck hadn’t had a crisis at all. He’d been calm, a look of genuine joy on his face as he’d said the word bisexual aloud, as he’d explained to Hen that the piece of himself that had been missing all of his life was this, his queerness, and he felt more like himself than he ever had before, and Hen had hugged him as hard as she possibly could.
She’d been proud then, but she was prouder now, watching as Buck smirked up (only slightly up – but it was cute, all the same) at whatever Tommy was saying, Tommy’s arm hooked around Buck’s waist. The Tommy of it all had been a surprise, she’d had to admit. It wasn’t as if she held a grudge, that Tommy hadn’t been out when he’d been at the 118 – the 118 she’d begun her career at was a very different place to the home it was now, after years under Bobby’s helm. Frankly, their captain had begun to collect LGBTQ firefighters like they were Pokémon, but that was a conversation for another day.
The point was – Tommy had grown into himself, in the years since he’d gone to Harbour, and his queer identity was a surprise, but a good surprise. Hen wasn’t sure she’d have ever put Buck, and Tommy, together, but now, watching them as they swayed at the edge of the makeshift dancefloor in Bobby and Athena’s backyard, she couldn’t help but smile. Buck was blushing, his ears red as he laughed at whatever Tommy said, a look of genuine delight on his face as they talked, their conversation too quiet to be heard over the music blaring tinnily from the stereo Bobby had set up – and Tommy, well, he had the sweetest look on his face. Hen was glad, as she watched, glad to know that Buck’s first queer experience would be with someone who looked at him so sweetly.
She worried about Buck, a lot of the time, and it would be a lie to say she didn’t worry (and worry often) about the romantic entanglements Buck found himself caught up in. But Tommy, he was sweet, and kind, and his years away from the way the 118 had clearly kept him in the closet had been good to him, and Hen knew that whatever happened, he’d be kind to Buck. You could tell, by the way he was looking so affectionately at Buck, their swaying turning into something that could be considered more like dancing.
His third date with Tommy and Buck was already dancing with the other man in a backyard full of his friends and family. That was brave, if you asked Hen.
“I recognise that look on your face,” Maddie huffed out, moving layers of material so she could sit next to Hen in her wedding dress. She looked beautiful – happiness was a good look on her friend. “Because I think that’s how I look right now too.”
The implication hung heavy in the air between them. Maddie had been out of Buck’s life for a long time – through no fault of her own, if you asked Hen – and in those years between Buck starting at the 118 and Maddie coming back, Hen had begun to play that more sisterly role in Buck’s life.
“I know that look too,” Maddie warned. “Don’t say what you’re about to say, Hen.”
“I’d never try to replace you,” the words were out, before Hen could heed the warning.
“I know,” Maddie reassured, giving Hen’s hand a squeeze as she looked across to where Buck was with Tommy. “But why have one big sister when he can have two, right?”
“Right,” Hen relaxed against the other woman. She’d never have imagined Maddie would become such an important part of her life, when she’d first met her – but she couldn’t have dreamed up a better fit for Chimney. It had been a privilege, to be a part of their big day – despite all that had gone wrong – and Hen had told Maddie as much earlier.
“I’d be lying if I said I was surprised, when he told me,” Maddie inclined her head slightly. “Not that I knew – but the way he always talked about feeling as though he was missing a part of himself, I don’t think that could ever be explained only by Daniel. It makes sense it was more.”
Hen nodded. She didn’t disagree. “I feel so proud of him,” she admitted. “It’s not easy, to come out and introduce the man you’re dating to everyone in a matter of weeks.”
“I’m proud of him too,” Maddie hummed, smiling brightly as she watched Buck press a kiss to Tommy’s cheek. “He’s the bravest person I know.”
“I think he’d probably say that about you,” Hen countered with a smile, frowning slightly as someone else caught her attention. Eddie was sitting in a corner, nursing a beer, a far-away look on his face as he watched on. It wasn’t jealousy, no – nor was it upset, or disgust. If Hen could put a word to it, it would be confusion.
“I think we probably share the same opinion on that, too,” Maddie whispered, glancing between Buck, and Eddie. The Buck and Eddie of it all was one of life’s great mysteries, Hen had long-since decided – she wasn’t going to get involved. They’d have to figure that one out themselves
Hen laughed. “I think we do,” she glanced back to Buck, who was closer than ever to Tommy, his arms slung around the other man’s neck, the music having slowed to something softer, sweeter, romantic. Hen should look for her own wife, really. “But for now…” she trailed off.
“For now,” Maddie hummed her agreement. “We can be proud of our little brother.”
Our. If Hen blinked back a tear or two at that, that was between her and Maddie Buckley-Han.
