Well hello. This is an unexpected response I got from a Christian user about the Prolife/forced birther movement not caring about women who have to have abortions. I find this funny because

A.) No where in my post about forced birthers did I say anything about Christians (telling on yourself today, huh?)

B.) I genuinely want you to name 3 national pro life organizations that help with women after having the child financially. Not just organizations that let women see the fetus's ultrasound or heartbeat so the woman feels guilty or pro life organizations that gather in front of abortion clinics to scream at teenage rape victims, but organizations that give finacial support for hospital bills, daycare, baby supplies, pre-school, AND school/college expenses or scholarships (cause you know, children are an lifelong commitment). I could only find one that remotely helps with that and of course they have this tibbit as a part of their mission statement:

What does the Bible say about abortion?

(PT: What does the Bible say about abortion?) Trigger warning: Discussion of pregnancy loss, violence and abuse. Additional Disclaimers: A lot of the verses come from different translations of the Bible, so to clear any confusion the translation/version will also be provided next to the verse). Yep... we're going *that* route. You've probably already heard what happened lately in Alabama. And this, combined with me getting a lot of "pro-life" Christians in my Instagram feed for whatever reason (I just wanted to get closer to my Christian faith, Instagram. -_-), I think it's time to debunk the whole "Bible outlaws abortion" myth once and for all. Firstly, let's talk about abortion in general.

I'm sure I don't need to explain what abortion is, but you might be asking yourself why someone might want to have an abortion in the first place.

Well, there's many reasons, but the most common reasons include, but are not limited to: -The pregnancy could be dangerous to the individual's health (such as an ectopic pregnancy, which is when a fertilized egg grows outside the uterus).

-The individual was raped or abused.

-The fetus won't survive the pregnancy. -Someone just doesn't wanna be a parent yet!

Now with that out of the way, does the Bible actually say anything about abortion?

Short answer, no. No answer, no. Not directly anyway. You've probably seen these Bible verses quoted by "pro-life" activists: "So God created mankind in his own image" (Genesis 1:27, NIV) And "I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19, CSB). Thing is though: *Neither* of those verses are actually anti-abortion. Genesis 1:27 is a quote about God creating humanity (A quote I also previously discussed when I talked about religion and queerness last year!), and has absolutely nothing to do with abortion (or killing babies!) at all.

And Deuteronomy 30:19... also isn't about abortion at all. If anything, it's more anti-violence at best.

And most other verses that "pro-lifers" cherrypick only refer to pregnancy as a whole, not abortion. So no. Not only is the bible *not* explicitly anti-abortion, the word "abortion" is never mentioned at all, neither are mentions of preforming one (Outside of *maybe* Numbers 5:24-27... and even then that can be more easily interpreted as a forced miscarriage rather than an abortion). Which brings us to a commonly quoted verse by pro-abortion activists. The quote, Exodus 21:22, while also has zero to do with abortion itself, *does* give us an interesting insight when it comes to pregnancy loss as a whole: "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine" (Exodus 21:22, KJV)

...which then goes on to say

"And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life" (Exodus 21:23, KJV) "Mischief" in this translation refers to injury to the woman. Exodus 21:23... basically says that if the woman in this verse is hurt... let's just say there's gonna be more blood shed.

Conclusion Basically, the Bible appears to be neither pro-abortion nor anti-abortion, but still values a pregnant individual's life over the fetus.

So yeah. So much for the bible being anti-abortion (and pro-life!), huh?

true, and you know, this was something that i believed would happen with merely the natural progression of technology and everything, as a building off digital art. but that’s not what’s happening, though—it’s also not “replicating” human-made art, it’s straight-up taking the data around it and storing it in algorithms. biggest missed opportunity i’ve seen… ever. in my whole life.

A Different Kind of Heart Break

Heya Family, I know I've been MIA for a while but then again...What's new?

I want you to know Family, whatever your beliefs are I respect it. I respect anyone who respects me. So please, lets keep this as respectable as possible.

So, as you all know, Roe v. Wade was overturned which set off some trigger laws in certain states. You KNOW I am not a scholar nor am I formally educated, but I am smart and I have common sense and I am a Libra (which means I can see both sides of the coin) which means I'm about to show you all of these adjectives I just stated about myself in this post. Hold on to your hats.

I will have video and posts attached (I hope) so that you understand what I am saying.

The first video is what has shaped my thinking in regards to Roe v. Wade. In short, the reason why Roe v. Wade was overturned isn't to hurt BIPOC in the sense that we think. Our bodies are not the bodies they want to control, we are a casualty of war. Always have been. We are used for the gain of the "others."

I hope you're able to see the video. Now lets think about all of the hatred thrown at all BIPOC...What she's saying starts to make a lot of sense. BIPOC are the innocents caught in the crossfire. They use our bodies and minds as they see fit but in the end, the goal is the same...Make more white people.

How can you assure that more white people are made, you ask? That's an amazing question, I'll be honored to respond. You FORCE women to have babies. In the video above, she states 60% of abortions are performed by non-BIPOC. 60%!!!

Pro-Life & Pro-Choice

That's interesting huh? It's Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice. Why isn't it Pro-Life vs. Pro-Death? People are up in arms about this but I'm looking at it from a different lens.

Let's break this down a bit. What is Pro-Life? I really didn't like what I found on line. Pro-Life means you're anti-abortion. That's the simplistic way to define it. What is Pro-Choice? Having the choice to decide when you want to have children, if you want to have children.

This is still the thing, the wording is crazy, don't you think? Pro-Life, wants a fetus to live and Pro-Choice wants a fetus to live if that is their choice. I know this sounds mean or TOO honest but this is what people are arguing about.

Here's the thing...Pro-Choice is about CHOICE. Not death. I wish I could say this is clearly black and white, but unfortunately familia, it is not.

So, SCOTUS taking away our choice to have children, or not, starts a snowball effect. First it's banning abortions, then it's regulating contraception, then it's financial and then it's livelihood. I know that's a little The Handmaid's Tale, but think about it for a second. And why? Because caucasians are now the minority in America? You're literally cutting your face to spite your nose.

Back to the verbiage though, Pro-Life...The debate has been when does life begin? Is it when the heartbeat is present? Ok, when someone is in a car accident and they have a heartbeat but there is no brain activity, is that life too? The plug is usually pulled here.

Does life begin when the fetus has toes? An eye? Fingernails? I'm trying to figure this out because this is how it's defined by Pro-Lifers. So when should life END? This is real question. When should a human life end? Someone who has mutilated children and is on death row for his/her crimes and is given the death penalty. Where is Pro-Life then? Oh wait, what if a white man strings up a black man until said black man loses his life. Should the white man be sentenced to death too? Where is the pro-life in that? We all find people who suit our narratives.

Which brings me to my next topic:

States banning abortions. I can't find the video where the lady was talking so I have to paraphrase her words (which I ALSO agree with - BTW): Simply put, the states that ban abortions are run by these government officials which the citizens of said states put in office. If you don't like your government officials stance on Abortion, vote them out.

Before you come for me, i understand that everything takes time. I also understand all of the lives that will be taken and the mothers who will have children because they believe they don't have access to what they may need. I get ALL of that, however I do also understand that there is change in numbers. Not the numbers on a spreadsheet but the number of individuals who VOTE! Vote these politicians out of office. Allow the new people to come into office and make the changes you feel are necessary. We tend to believe our votes don't matter, but the shit show that is our government has shown you time and again that is in fact does. Those of us complaining are doing just that...COMPLAINING. Take action! Support the people you feel will support you and watch how the tides will turn.

The world we live in is a dumpster fire. I am not just talking about America, but since America is where I live, America gets my opinions.

Real change starts with you. There are elections going on RIGHT NOW! Go out and elect the people you want to represent you.

I don't want my choices to be taken from me. I want to be able to utilize contraception because I don't want to have a baby. I want to be able to do everything possible to not have another child, but if something happens and I do end up WITH child, I want the option to keep or terminate pregnancy. That is my choice. No one should make me feel bad either way.

I'm not going to trample on your beliefs and I wish you wouldn't try to impart them on me. My belief in God or Gaja or the Big Bang Theory is my choice. There's that word again...Choice. It is my choice and one I don't press upon anyone. Live & let live.
