sometimes i wonder about the people ted left behind in the us. i mean, the way he is, the little we do see of his coaching from then, i have no doubt he had a great impact on his players and staff there, too; that they loved him, too. but like, we never see ted still connected to any of them. i understand why like, on a doylist level--narratively it would just clutter things to have this whole other cast, and beard is already there showing his previous important connections, but like. i dunno. i just wonder.

i have so many feelings about the end of ted lasso. personally, i’m glad ted and rebecca remained friends, though i would have been totally cool if they were more. ted leaving felt so shitty because there is nothing good for him left in kansas except for his son, really. his friends, his support systems, dr. sharon… it isn’t clear to me if ted has friends other than beard and it breaks my heart.
honestly, it feels almost like a step backwards cause ted isn’t moving on from richmond, he’s just going back to kansas where… what job does he even have?
idk, i get why the show ended the way it did. i think that any other ending would have felt too happy-go-lucky-unrealistic but i’m still sad about it
(though to be clear i’m not mad at the ending, i just am sad on behalf of ted)
That's the sticking point for me, is that Ted is left with nothing, and he doesn't even look that happy about it. Now, the argument is that he has the one thing he wanted most, the chance to be with his son, to be part of his son's day to day life (which is a time sensitive desire, there's a clock running on Henry's childhood and Ted can't wait and be there later it has to be now or never, and he also will never have the chance to do that again), to love his son and not leave his son with the same wounds he grew up with as a result of losing his father. Ted has sacrificed everything to make his son's life better. A lot of parents can relate.
While Ted has my dream life in London, he is not the ultimate decision maker for his son; Michelle has to be on board with whatever choice he makes, too. Now if I'm Michelle, and Ted is willing to help financially, me and my baby are on the first plane out of the states, but that's me. Michelle may have stronger family ties. Michelle and Ted may want those family ties for Henry, and not want to sever him from them. They may want to raise him in a less high pressure environment than in a big city like London.
And that's the thing is bc Ted's decision was so rushed they didn't have time for any of that. We can guess at why Ted won't hear of taking Henry out of Kansas, but we don't really know - it's not like it was impossible, given Ted's salary, people move internationally, it is not some pie in the sky impossibility, unless there is a reason. We just don't know what that reason is.
Sorry I'm all over the place but the thing is like. Parents make sacrifices for their children. That is absolutely true. That is an insurmountable obstacle for sure. But our last image of Ted is so hopeless. All he has is Henry. That's it. He gave up everything, and he doesn't even look all that happy, and we know he's struggled with anxiety and depression, and what good is making all those sacrifices for Henry if in the end he's unhappy, unfulfilled, lonesome? Henry will sense that. Henry will ultimately be hurt by that.
There isn't like a best answer here, which I think is interesting. If he stays in London sure he can see Henry over facetime and in person periodically but that is not enough to sustain a relationship with a child who is changing by the day; time will put a huge barrier between them. They will not know each other. He may not be getting that much day to day time with Henry now that he's back in the states, who knows what the custody arrangement is, but he can coach Henry's soccer team and see him so much more often and really maintain that relationship. He needs to be where Henry is to have a relationship with his son, and bc he's unwilling to consider relocating Henry, that only leaves one option. And that's best for Henry, and maybe it's best for Ted, bc he won't feel guilty about abandoning his son, and it's so noble, all this sacrifice. It's noble in a way that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, though.
And it's interesting to me bc as I sat here wondering about how, ultimately, Ted was always going to have to leave bc of how the show had established his priorities and concerns, I was wondering about how they could have ended it without doing this, and I find myself thinking what if they hadn't ended it at all? What if they'd left it open, not definitively said Ted was going or staying, not definitively said "Ted's London family will thrive without him and he will never see them again" (he wasn't even at Beard's wedding, if in fact that wedding happened), but ended on a moment of a decision suspended, hope still in the air, a question left unanswered? The ending was pretty ambiguous imo but a little more ambiguity might have been more palatable.
But palatable was not the point. My personal desires and opinions weren't the point. Fathers and sons, forgiveness, selflessness, love for others, these things are central to the plot of the entire damn show, and I guess they were always gonna bring the point home.
Sorry for the ramble it's probably full of typos but I need to do my job now lmao

Part 3
Warnings:Plot
At home Riri walks into the kitchen where her Mom is making dinner busy before her 7pm-7am shift at the hospital. “Hey Mami, it smells so good here. What are you making?” Ronnie smiles “It’s just a little chicken and rice with peas Mamas.” Rihanna’s favorite. “Ri Baby how was school? I know it’s week one but it’s senior year so I hope you are considering having more fun this year.” Riri’s face softens her Mom has always wanted to see Riri being more teen-like.
“Actually Mami, I wanted to talk to you about that…” The front door opens, cutting off Ri’s thought. “Ayeee don’t tell us you want to go to another robotics camp. Sounds like fun.” Sharon Ri’s Sister jokes butting in. “No Sha, I was going to say that I’d like to get my nails done this weekend. Trying to keep my looks on point.” Sharon is skeptical while her Mother is excited. “I can make your appointment now for Saturday. It will be a day to pamper you.”
Sha narrows her eyes. “Ri who are you doing this for? Huh?” Riri cuts her eyes at her sister they are close to 5 years apart so she takes the big sister role very serious. After their father was killed Sharon decided to stick close to home to help their Mom. Plus Riri is the one destined to do the big things so Sha supports that wholehearted.
Rolling her eyes because now her cover is blown she comes clean. “If you must know, I am working on getting out of my comfort zone. Dr Stevens did something with us today in class and it inspired me to want to do something different this school year.” Mhm Sharon shook her head. “Ooook well that’s nice. I bet that cute basketball girl is on that to-do list.” Sharon walks past laughing going to change.
“Sha! Stop!” The high pitched octave was somewhat of a dead give away. “Rihanna Robin” Her Mother’s soothing voice rang in. “I don’t care if it’s because of a crush or for yourself I’m glad you want to step out of your comfort. That’s a big step and your sister just wants you to know we support you.” Ri smiles and sighs.
Shuri is in the locker room, getting ready for practice when she opens her phone. Her mother has texted her asking about her day.
“Panther! You smiling mighty hard into that phone.” Coach Rollands’ voice booms coming into the locker room. Shuri laughs and clicks her phone to sleep. “It was the Queen Dukes. She made chicken stew and cassava. So good!” Coach shakes her head. “Is that why your weigh ins are 5lbs in flux every week?”
The rest of the team laughs. Shuri can’t help it. She eats good and her weight training has been outrageous. “Yes yes laugh it up y’all I am going to college ball coach I have to have this weight on.” Rollands is never impressed that Shuri listens to everything she says and takes it on. It’s an expectation. “Ok ok you are listening just hustle up we have a short one today.” Rollands slaps Shuri’s arm on the way out.
Standing Shuri makes her way to the tunnel to get to the court. This is her senior year she’s going for all her PRs and a few of the school records too.
“Panther wait up!” A voice comes from behind. “Yo Al wassup.” Allie is one of the teammates she’s close to. Al smirks throwing an arm on her shoulder “Nothing just curious about today. I saw the little cutie you were with.” Shuri’s face scrunches up. “Yea that’s Riri she’s super sweet. Why wassup.” Allie is cautious with her next words. “Oh I suppose I’m trying to figure out if that’s you? Because if not…” Shuri stops Allie before she can finish. “Don’t even think about it. Let’s hustle.” The warning comes out loud and clear.
Being 100% honest Shuri has been feeling Riri since the 8th grade. It’s just that high school is a beast and she never made the move to go farther. She regrets it but it was for a reason. The thing that makes her feel better is how they stayed close.
Being popular and the politics that come with it almost destroyed Shuri freshman year. So she wanted to protect Ri from that at all costs. That’s the reason she told herself at least. The reality is she was nervous having never had a girlfriend and year after year made some excuse about how she has to grow in a made up area. That was changing though.
Shuri was and still at times an insecure person. But she’s helped her confidence grow by creating an alter ego. Much like Kobe she came up with The Black Panther. The Panther side of her is how she’s shown her assertive and confident nature. From freshman year to now with some help Shuri is Panther and Panther is Shuri which she is thankful for.
*whistle blows*
“Ok ladies walk walk walk go cool down that was intense.” Coach Rollands is now at the bottom of the bleachers stairs as the girls come down from running a crazy cardio circuit. Practice is now over so Shuri goes to take a fast shower and change. Shuri makes it to her car and drives off “Siri call Cousin Aneka” “Calling Cousin Aneka iPhone.”
“Hello Shuri, how's it?” Aneka’s deep and smooth tone is just what Shuri needed to calm her nerves. Today has been a little too exciting. She’s just glad Riri didn’t make an issue about saving her name as “Daddy” in her phone.
“Cousin, I'm well. I did it! I finally talked to her on more than a friend level. I think?” Aneka is amused. “How do you think you talked to her on more than a friend level? Either you did or you didn’t.” Shuri pulls the car out of the lot on her way home. “Ok so I did what you said and told her I missed her. Even finally got her number.” Aneka chuckles but has a questioning tone. “What do you mean finally? You have mentioned this girl for years now.” Shuri grimaces “Yea but we have only ever hung out at school. I never had her number.” Aneka starts to yell. “Shuri Azari, why did you not tell me you never had her number! That is so…” Shuri pulls the phone from her ear as the rant continues and when she places it back to her ear she hears Ayo and Okoye on the line.
“Ahhh I won the bet. I knew she didn’t have her number.” Okoye is the first voice she hears coming back to the phone. “Hello Okoye, Ayo. Yes I know it was dumb but you know she makes me nervous STILL.” Shuri says as she pulls into her driveway. “I just need advice on my next step. She was flirting back but I don’t know what to do next. She’s not the average girl who is just excited that I looked at them.” All three seem to harmonize with a laugh.
“Shuri, just be your genuine self. Do what you feel is right. She already likes you.” Aneka chimes in. Shuri sighs and listens. They are right. She has to like her back for putting up with her this long. “I will try. Thank you all. Bye.”

Possibly my favourite episode of the season. But could that be because it feels like they just remembered this show is really about Rebecca Welton and is just named after her boyfriend?? Not at all!!
Let’s go!!
Episode 10 - International Break
Tumblr media
Woah! What a way for reveal Nate left West Ham! 🫢
Shut up, George!! You’re just bitter you were shut at your job and it’s showing now
Ted! We want to spend every weekend with you! Please never leave
Is this really how they find out who got chosen?? Seems like something they’d personally get told first. I think the boys knew, but the coaches didn’t!! Hmm
‘Wait, hold on. Bumbercatch, you’re Swiss?’ ‘Yeah. Look at me’ this boy really is a man of mystery!! 😂
Poor Sam 🙁
But God love Jamie though! He’s come so far!! 🥰🥰
‘I am not your bro. We are now enemies, and soon, you will be my bitch’ woah, Mexico Dani is a whole other breed of dog, huh!! I’ll stick with Richmond puppy Dani, thanks 😂
YYEEEAAAHHHH!!
We love a convo that sounds like it’s about periods but is actually about wine 🫡
MADELINE KAHN REFERENCE!!! 😍😍 this alone could make this episode my favourite!!
Totally tracks though that Ted doesn’t like gossip
As much as I always want scenes of Ted & Rebecca alone, that reveal to Trent was brilliant. And of course he’s good at girl talk 😂
Please, they way Rebecca reacts to Ted is such married behaviour. AND TRENT IS SEEING IT ALL FIRST HAND!! I’m so excited
Oh, Ted. You’re cute. You knew exactly what they meant. You just wanted to make your wife smile. It’s okay, we get it 🥰
AND AGAIN WITH THE DEVIL BIT. Boy…
I’ll continue to say it; Nate & Jade are cute!
Fully expected her to flip them all off, not gonna lie
Omg I totally saw this coming, and yet it’s still heartbreaking 🥺
Keeley’s not stupid. She knows it’s not the board, Barbra
JUNO TEMPLE!!! 😢😢😢 (first time I got teary this episode)
Scary Mexico Dani 🤘🏼 You just know Cristo had a blast with this episode!! (Peep the guy in the back with the huge smile😂)
Slutty Ted in red with his arms out 🥵
‘It’s hard to see the ball when your eyes are full if tears’ fucking savage 😂
The Wunder Turd. Nice
Fuck Jane though
I think Trent’s next book should just be about Beard. That is an interesting man, for sure! Like, why do you need so many axes, my guy?!
Well that was awkward… but also a little sweet 🫣
‘The creepy old man that lives in the sewers’ Renee, you’ll always be famous to us
Okay, I could go on and on about this, but I think this is a great, subtle way to begin showing Rupert falling apart.
‘When they used to play by candlelight’ YES, REBECCA! FUCK THAT OLD MAN UP!! 😂
‘Some people just are t ready when they get their shot’ That is not at all what happened, Rupert
Oop she knows that’s bullshit, too
HAPPY UNCLE DAY, ROY!! 🎉🎉
Okay, I love Roy’s sister. And also the subtle call back to her actually being the doctor that treated Sharon last season 👍🏼 Nice
Of course that’s the order of Phoebe’s favourite holidays. Uncle Roy is number 1! (&2😉)
Uh oh, secrets out boys! 😂😂
How fucking cute though that Jamie gets a call (probably from Phoebe herself) inviting him to this party and he actually turns up with a really thoughtful gift 🥹 THE GROWTH IN THIS BOY IS GORGEOUS!!
Omg Eloide’s face journey in this scene is perfection. Phoebe has been grossly underused this show!
Also the cutest fucking present. She’s knows your inside is so bright and colourful, Roy! You shouldn’t hide it!
‘Your sister is fit’ ‘I will cut your eyes out’ 😂 okay, but like… I would 100% be behind these two being brother-in-laws, just saying 😂
SAM RICHARDSON!!! 😍 always a blast when he shows up!
And you just know from Toheeb himself that these scenes are a struggle to get through once Sam gets on a roll
But poor Sam, though. Edwin is such a dick
Poor Nate, too. He’s so lost right now 🥺
Yeah, Lloyd, shut up (which is what she meant to say)
Seeing her signs blocked off 🥺🥺 heartbreaking
Since when does her lady ship enter a room like that?? 😂 but I’m glad it means we get to see more physical comedy from Jeremy 👍🏼 Always a bonus!
So her order is Keeley, Ted, Sassy, Leslie and never her mother 😂 I love that actually
‘I hate to break it to you, Rebecca, but those children are dead’ made me laugh just as much as it did the first time! 😂
We love a protective Papa Higgins in this house 🥰 but boy seems traumatised by that story 😂
Oh don’t suck your tie, Leslie 🤦🏻‍♀️
So that photo has shown up on both Keeley & Ted’s phone, but whose did she take it on?? 🤔
That is a bullshit text, Jack. Absolutely no excuse. I knew I was right to not trust you from the start! 😡
‘Everything? Fuck no’ another great call back
Also hell yeah to a Keeley & Mae scene!! (Do have some thoughts about what I’ve seen some people say about this scene, though…)
Whether she’s drunk or making a joke, Keeley actually going with Mae’s full name being Maybe is genius!😂
I really need a Mae in my life. I feel like I could actually get my life in order after a conversation with this woman
Everyone not knowing what to do or how to react to him wearing this t-shirt is brilliant
(Also Red Right Hand playing over this is maybe the last little push I need to finally start Peaky Blinders once this show is done)
Beard trying to get Ted’s attention- amazing. But what was he doing on his phone that he was so focused on??
‘Okay, now I’m worried. Are you alive? Text ‘no’ if dead’ living for silly, real Rebecca! 🥰
The boys all getting together to watch all the games is beautiful 🥹 they’re all so supportive!!
Also genius work casting Colin & Ryan as the commentators for this match 👌🏼
Savage Dani!!
What are you decorating, Rebecca, that you have a ‘decorating made easy’ pdf on your laptop?? 🤔
📢 THE ARMY MAN IS BACK!! 📢
Yo, Rupert is really struggling atm, huh!
Yes I gasped when he threw it on the floor, but had no doubt he’d bake back for it!
Rebecca is a gif sender. Of course she is
Rebecca has anxiety confirmed?? 🤔
Okay this scene with little Rebecca is absolutely gorgeous!! And did make me tear up a little, not gonna lie.
(As I’ve also said, I choose to believe Paul taught her to do that when she was little)
That is going to become his new favourite t-shirt, I can see it already. Something will eventually happen to it and he’s going to be devastated!!
Again, who the fuck is Leann?! Your name is Ruth, woman! 😂 it’s times like this that fanfic really screws with you 😂
‘I teach kids. I don’t mind cleaning up a mess’ tell him like it is, RuthLeann 😂
Aannndd it’s all falling into place finally. Took your time, Roy!!
‘I like clothes that tell the truth’ BARBARA!! You juicy minx 😂 I love you, please never leave!!
I’ve absolutely loved watching these two together 🥹
She’s so awkward, maybe a little bit autistic 🤷🏻‍♀️ makes sense!
Rupert’s being nice. Makes me feel weird…
‘How could I resist the chance of having a bunch of old men speak directly to my chest?’ Don’t try so hard, man. She’s not that funny!!
His assistant is called Bread. A play on Beard perhaps?? 🤔
Okay, what has he said about Rebecca to get a reaction from her like that??
Also this is deliciously awkward. I hope it comes out that Nathan told everyone he was sleeping with his assistant, as well as others, and that’s why he left. And that Bex left him too. You must suffer
Your ex-wife is also not stupid. She knows exactly what happened with your old assistant.
He introduced her as an owner, not his ex. HE’S TRYING SO HARD!!
I’ve had this exact exchange with many an older gentleman in my time. This is too real 🤢
This man and his obsession with Chicago-style hot dogs knows no bounds! 😂
Okay, these baby pictures are cute
Sam pulling the most out of a tiny little thing is wonderful 😂 wonder how long that actually went on for??
‘An untried dream’. Eww.
So Keeley does know how to text back! 🫢
I love how they bring things in from the actors themselves, assuming this really is Nick playing
‘Is this a fucking joke?’ FUCK THEM UP, GIRLIE!!
And Sam’s face 😂
They really just said let’s surround Hannah with kids this episode, huh 😂
Love her talking to a bunch of old men like they’re children, too
Jamie wearing 24 for Sam 🥹🥹🥹 yes, I have to pause until the tears go away
Roy, your handwriting is atrocious
How dare this show make me have a feeling towards Rupert 😡
I agree with you, Edwin, what a lovely speech indeed. Rebecca, you have come so far from the bitter ex-wife who just wanted to destroy something your ex-husband loved. You truly care and love the sport and your boys now and it’s delicious to witness 🥰🥰🥰
Omg that reveal with amazing!! (Although I will say, on my first watch I though initially the food on Tony’s head was because he’d been punched 🫣😂)
Those giggles were purely Hannah & Tony
Nick is absolutely killing in this season. This scene is a great showcase of exactly how these types of families are. It’s beautiful to witness
Also shoutout to the actor playing his dad. He’s done an amazing job too!!
I’m feeling so many emotions watching this scene. Tony is showcasing beautifully exactly how charming Rupert can be. Reminiscing about old times, getting food out of her hair. Doing his ‘Rupert act’ that likely always works for him. But not with her. Not anymore. She’s the strong one now and he’s lost 🥹 Good for you, Rebecca!
She has to look now, Roy, because nobody can read your handwriting 😂
Brett & Juno kill me. His letter is just beautiful and made me tear up every time I’ve listened to it 🥹 AND HE TOLD HER HE STILL LOVES HER!! 🥰
‘Sincerely yours, Roy Kent. XOXO’ 😂😂 never change, please
They really are beautiful and I can’t wait to see them coming back together!
Keeley opening that door and screaming at Rebecca was *chefs kiss* 😂 Juno Temple, comedy queen!
And I want what they have!! I love how she can share her good news, ask for a hug, then tell her she’s cross with her friend. And her friend completely understands. It’s wonderful
Again, being accountable for you actions. Rebecca doesn’t even have to say anything to her
I’ve seen people against Rebecca funding KJPR, but I think it makes perfect sense. Rebecca has the money and she wants to do something within her means to help her friend reach her full potential. Why wouldn’t she help?!
Keely’s disgust is all of us 😂
Baby girl is finally at the top of her mountain! Now just needs her lightening 😉
I love that the salute has become Rebecca & Roy’s thing 🥰
Wilk is shocked! Bit what a beautiful gesture!
Barbara left Jack and wants to stay with Keeley, as she should! I’ve said from the beginning she knew what Jack was like, but I think the difference is she actually likes Keeley…
I THINK THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP 🩷🎉🥰
Puppy Dani is back!!
Roy wears a colour other than black (or charcoal heather grey) and Beard learns he can share bits of himself with people. Yes, we’re coming to an end, guys…
She didn’t get rid of the painting!!
Also doesn’t need saying, but how fucking gorgeous is Hannah in this scene! That dress & colour on her are delightful. She’s so fucking soft now!!
She didn’t open the biscuits right away! 👀 and she shuffled closer to Ted 👀 is this it, girls? Is it happening?? I’m not ready! What do I do?!! 🫠
The little smile after she says so no longer cares about beating Rupert 🫣 He’s so proud of her!!
The heart eyes 😍 Ted, she is still your boss! She’s not your wife yet!!
OMFG!! 😂😂 how many times do you think she had to do that before she could do it without laughing?? 😂
‘As long as none of that tree piss gets in my mouth, I’m actually okay with it’ Okay, Ted. We get it!!
Well that episode was absolutely beautiful! On so many fronts!!
I do have more thoughts about a few points which I may elaborate on at some point, but I do feel like it’s showing we’re on the home stretch now 😢
Looks like we’re getting Mumma Lasso next episode, too!! 🫣 Kinda vibrating with excitement, but at the same time telling myself not to expect too much! But she’s in Richmond so it’s only right to assume there’d be a scene between her & Rebecca, right??
Only 2 more left babes!! 🫡

just finished Ted Lasso s2 and I fucking love this show omg
some chaotic thoughts:
I can't believe they got me to care about this stupid fucking game - at least in the show lol, you still won't catch me even knowing when any match is, let alone watching it - and I'm actually excited when they play and I look like all the fans watching lmao
I loved dr Sharon, I hope we'll see her again
all the backstory this season was amazing, it was so sad and deep and emotional and I cried a couple of times lol
Keeley and Roy are still my faves, but I gotta say, Sam is stealing my heart, he's so adorable - and I lowkey ship him and Rebecca tbh 😂
I'm worried about Roy and Keeley, I'm sensing a breakup coming (they've been hunting at it for like at least the last couple of episodes, I bet it's gonna happen) and I'm sad - but like, I'm cool with it as long as they end up together in the end, and as long as Keeley never goes back to fucking Jamie 😂 (almost every tv show has to have the break-up era, it's fine, I'm fine, I'm gonna just be in denial about it lol, they have to be endgame and that's that haha)
I did love Roy's arc and how he came around to finally coaching, he's so great - and I'm so happy for Keeley and her new job, she deserves all the best haha
I actually really enjoyed Jamie's character this season, his growth was amazing, and he had a few moments with Roy that were actually so sweet, I love their dynamic 😂
fuck Nate. I've seen this coming, and his descent was actually so well done, but oh my god he's the worst, and as soon as Rebecca said that Rupert bought that club, I just knew fucking Nate would go work for him - I can't wait to start s3 fr (and I can't believe I'm almost caught up and soon I'll have to wait for new episodes wtf why do I always start shows just as a new season is coming out 😂)
I really love Rebecca, she's been one of my faves since like half of s1, and she was even better this season, I really enjoyed her story
and Ted - god I love what they're doing with his character, those panic attacks were heartbreaking but I'm so happy he finally reached out for some help, and finding out about his tragic backstory was just so sad, I love him
also, coach Beard's episode was insane, I was like: what show am I even watching rn 😂 he's the best
oh, and Higgins is awesome, I fucking loved him this seasons
all the characters are so good, I adore them all (apart from the assholes we're supposed to hate lol) and all the relationships and dynamics are just amazing - but my fave is officially Roy and Phoebe, they're the best 😂 (followed closely by Keeley and Rebecca and their most adorable friendship haha)
imma watch what's available of s3 tomorrow, but oh my god this show is fucking amazing

Have you started the cgi era now? If so then least favorite episode so far?
Yes I have! I have just updated my watch progress in my Blog Intro, so y'all can see where I am in terms of catching up on the show. XD It does look a little bit strange though, so allow me a moment to explain.
I like to watch reviews on YouTube for shows that I watch or am interested in, so I already heard going in that the HIT era and Sharon Miller era episodes were... not good. Also I watch the show via Prime Video, and they don't host the HIT era episodes anyway. So I decided to skip ahead of those seasons (save for a few select episodes I'm specifically interested in) and just jump straight into Brenner era CGI, since I heard that's the period where the series gets good again. On Prime Video they have Brenner era starting off at Season 18, so that's where my jumping off point ended up being.
Anyway, I would say my least favorite CGI episode so far is "Emily Saves The World". It just felt kinda... dumb? Like, why is this globe just rolling around the entire island? How is it not damaged after all that it's been through?
I'm not a picky person when it comes to the shows I watch, there's very few things I dislike and there's a lot that I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for. But even for me, I just felt like that episode didn't make sense.
On the plus side, I did enjoy watching Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel gossip behind Emily's back, thinking she made up the whole thing about the globe. I love how the CGI era actually gave the coaches personalities. Specifically with Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel, I think their dynamic is very sweet and fun to watch, and it's nice seeing them be so close despite how different their personalities are.
After I finish answering all the asks sitting in my Inbox, I definitely want to write something about how I feel about Model era vs CGI era, because I have A LOT to talk about. There's a lot that I like about both, and they have such different feelings to them that I would love to unpack.
Thank you for the ask dear anon!

Things I Ioved/hated about the final Ted Lasso episode.
Loved:
Rebecca's plea to Ted - I felt her desperation at losing her friend. Their scenes were incredibly heartfelt and she absolutely KILLED IT! The impact he'd had on her and vice versa... it hit hard and was truly beautiful.
Nathan's apology - while I still don't like what he became, his apology to Ted was raw and real... I can't deny that. He was really hurting and really regretted what he'd done.
Roy & Jamie's friendship - these lads give me life. I love them.
Roy becoming manager - Yes. Just- Yes.
Sassy - I just love her... and her brutal slagging off of Rupert.
Ted leaving - Obviously it broke my heart to see him go, but I loved that despite how loved and needed he was, how he'd built this newfound family.... he stuck to his guns for his son. His heart wanted to go home to his boy, and while it probably tore him apart to leave, he didn't falter. I bloody miss him already, but seeing his son's reaction to him coming home? It's clear why Ted couldn't stay. He's a father first and an amazing coach second.
Trent losing his shit in the crowd - About fucking time! Trent, you're a fucking LEGEND!!! That was glorious to see.
Dr Sharon - Yaaay!!! She got sucked in and I loved seeing her cheering the boys on :D I was so glad to see her.
Colin kissing his man - YES. Fuck what people might think. Your team loves and accepts you, you love and accept you, so grab that smooch of your guy and celebrate!! No more having to hide.
Hated:
The song & dance - I'm sorry but I feel like the 'himbo' jokey side of the squad became a bit too cartoony. It felt like an episode of Glee and dumbed the players down, personally.
Roy & Jamie - the whole fighting over Keeley thing was unnecessary. Yes, they both love her in their own way, but these two have come so far in their own ways to suddenly revert to that. Jamie has grown tremendously, and Roy was the responsible adult who didn't play childish games in the beginning.... that whole plot felt like it was regressing both men purely for comic relief. I really wasn't a fan.
Nathan - I just can't forgive him that easily. I respect and love the team for being able to move past it and welcome him back into the fold... but the nastiness this guy showed to those who built him up and made him someone, all because of jealousy & daddy issues.... I can't trust him, even if his apology was true and heartfelt. I just can't. He crossed a line with me I can't forgive so easily.
I'm sure there's other moments I loved/hated that i've missed, but those are the ones I remember.
Overall, i'm really sad to see the show come to a close, but am forever thankful to this wonderful series for bringing me some amazing characters I got to love.
It ended on a good note with enough doors left ajar if they ever want to explore or reprise later on, I guess? But i'm not expecting that.
Farewell, Richmond.
Greyhounds for life.

Valentina Tereshkova
I am a low/block heel devotee (no heels larger than 3” for me, thanks) and could see myself wearing either for hours. I ordered three colours of Valentino Rockstud kitten heel dupes/reps from 3 different sellers, so thought I’d do a side-by-side comparability of the sneakers with the authentics right here. You can also use this guide to learn how to authenticate Valentino sneakers your self. The major criteria they us to pick folks for every product are who you might be , the place you live and your interests. replica valentino bag The Cosmos Museum was opened 25 January 1975 near Yaroslavl. If we examine the perimeters of those pumps we'll discover how the authentic heel is taller than the one shown on the bottom picture; Because of this reason the original bridge of the pumps has a bigger curve. Platinum-finish studs are some of the important particulars in these pumps as they make sneakers look very fancy. wikipedia handbags Great evaluate, it's so thorough and I'm glad you included the much cheaper VASHOP to compare! Delusion of the Heart
Pairing: Soft!Dark!Steve Rogers x Female Reader
Summary: Steve Rogers was the neighbor that you had become friendly with. You had taken solace in him, telling him about your abusive and toxic ex-boyfriend who continues to try and get you back. Steve finally shows you that you won’t have to be afraid of him any longer.
Warnings: Kidnapping, lingering kisses, small 18+ scene, Drugging
“I know I shouldn’t bother you with my problems about Jacob. I know it probably gets annoying.” You sigh softly as Steve makes his way towards you. You sat on his very comfortable plush couch, your legs crossed against another. Steve hands you a cup of hot cocoa, a kind smile on his lips. “You don’t need to worry. I love being your company. I love that you talk to me. Even if it is about your horrible ex-boyfriend.” You carefully take the steaming mug from his hands, laughter escaping your lips. “Thank you. You are literally the only thing keeping me from exploding.”
Steve sits across from you, his greenish-blue eyes scanning over your body. “Like I keep on telling you. There is really no reason for you to thank me. I am Captain America. I get thanked enough.” You sip the drink joyfully. “I’m sorry. You’re just so helpful and caring. I wish I had someone like you as a boyfriend. Sharon is one lucky lady.” Steve hums at your confession, his lip twitching with happiness. As much as he wanted to tell you that he can be yours. That you both could be together. He is more than aware that you would only decline, “not wanting to hurt Sharon’s heart with your selfishness.”
“But you wanted to tell me something?” You question him before you continue to sip your drink. ‘This is really good’ You thought to yourself. Steve happily watches you down the drink. “Nothing important. I just wanted to spend some time with you.” Steve exclaims softly. You began to yawn, fatigue taking over your body. “I might have to leave early. Getting pretty tired.” You place the finished cup of hot cocoa onto the coffee table. You begin to get up off the coach but Steve was quick to move towards you. He rests his hand on your shoulder. “You don’t have to leave. You can stay here, I don’t mind you sleeping here.” You shake your head. “No, No. I should probably go. As much as you say I’m not a bother, I know it only takes a few hours. My mom got tired of me. My sister, my friends. It isn’t unordinary.”
Steve’s heart broke at this confession. His eyebrows furrowed in sadness. “Don’t say that about yourself. The people that got so-called “tired of you” were missing out on one of the most amazing people in the world.” Steve’s hands went from your shoulder to your cheeks. They caress the soft plush of your cheeks. You were mesmerized by the soft touch. “Stev-” Before you could finish, Steve deeply kisses you. You were shocked by the sudden affection, never really seeing Steve in that sort of light. You softly push him off of you but it came to no avail.
You began to tap at Steve’s shoulders aggressively, squirming in his hold. Once he finally let go of you, you were out of breath. Tears were streaming down your face, your eyes widened in pure horror. Your hand went up to your lips which were reddish due to Steve’s aggressive kiss. You both sat in silence, staring at one another. Awaiting for a move. Steve was the first to take it. “I’m so sorry.” He began but you were already getting off the couch. You slowly make your way towards the door. “Don’t go near that door.” Steve sternly states your name, positioning himself for when you leave that door.
“No, Steve I think we need a break from each other. Spend more time with Sharon and I’ll get busy with my shop. This break from each other will be great. It’s something we need after this accident.” Steve’s steps were large yet calculating. “It wasn’t an accident. I love you not Sharon. I want to be with you, not Sharon. Please, just let me take care of you.” You shake your head, you kept silent as you stared Steve down. You took another step near the door and that’s when Steve storms towards you.
He grabs your arm and pushes you against his muscular body. His head moved to your neck where he inhaled your scent. “You’re not going anywhere. I can’t let you go. I love you too much to let you go. To let you be harassed by that shitty ex-boyfriend of yours. To let you wander the world by yourself. You don’t deserve that. And after all, I did for this world, Don’t you think I deserve peace? To have my own family. Just stay with me. I promise you won’t regret it.”

Ted Lasso 2x11 thoughts
For an episode that ends with a journalist Ted trusts but has (understandably) recently lied to warning Ted that he’s publishing an article about his panic attacks, it was fitting that this episode seemed entirely about what all of these characters choose to tell each other. And after most of a season of television that Jason Sudeikis has described as the season in which the characters go into their little caves to deal with things on their own, it turns out they are finally able to tell each other quite a lot.
Which is good because, um, wow, a lot is going to happen in the season finale of this show!
Thoughts on the things people tell each other behind the cut!
Roy and Keeley. I absolutely loved the moment during their photoshoot in which they bring up a lot of complicated emotional things and are clearly gutted (“gutted”? Who am I? A GBBO contestant who forgot to turn the oven on?) by what they’ve heard. We already know that Keeley and Roy are great at the kinds of moments they have before the shoot begins, in which Roy builds Keeley up and tells her she’s fucking amazing. From nearly the beginning of their relationship, they’ve supported each other and been each other’s biggest fans. But their relationship has gone on long enough that they’ve progressed from tentative arguments about space and individual needs into really needing to figure out what they mean to each other and how big their feelings are and what that means in relation to everything else. Watching these two confess about the uncomfortable kiss with Nate, the unexpectedly long conversation with Phoebe’s teacher, and—most painfully—the revelation that Jamie still loves Keeley didn’t feel like watching two people who are about to break up. (Although I could see them potentially needing space from each other to get clarity.) It felt like watching two people realize just how much they’d lose if they lost each other, which is an understandably scary feeling even—or especially—when you’re deeply in love but not entirely sure what the future holds. Not entirely sure what you’re capable of when you’ve never felt serious about someone in quite this way, and are realizing you have to take intentional actions to choose that relationship every single day. I’m excited to learn whether Roy and Keeley decide they need to solidify their relationship more (not necessarily an engagement, but maybe moving in together or making sure they’re both comfortable referring to the other as partner and telling people they’re in a committed relationship) or if things go in a different direction for a while.
Sharon and Ted. I’ve had this feeling of “Wow, Ted is going to feel so intense about how honest he’s been with Sharon and is going to end up getting really attached and transfer a lot of emotions onto the connection they have and that is stressful no matter how beneficial it has been for him to finally get therapy!” for a while now. And Sharon’s departure really brought that out and it was indeed stressful. But the amount of growth that’s happened for both of these characters is really stunningly and beautifully conveyed in this episode. Ted is genuinely angry she left without saying goodbye, and he doesn’t bury it some place deep inside him where it will fester for the next thirty years. He expresses his anger. (I also noticed he sweared—mildly—in front of her again, which is really a big tell for how much he has let his carefully-constructed persona relax around her.) He reads her letter even though he said he wasn’t going to, and he’s moved. I don’t think Ted has the words for his connection to Sharon beyond “we had a breakthrough,” but Sharon gets it, and is able to firmly assert a professional boundary by articulating her side of that breakthrough as an experience that has made her a better therapist. And is still able to offer Ted a different kind of closure by suggesting they go out before her train leaves. No matter how you feel about a patient/football manager seeing their therapist/team psychologist colleague socially, I appreciated this story because IMO it didn’t cross big lines but instead was about one final moment in this arc in which both Ted and Sharon saw each other clearly and modeled what it is to give someone what they need and to expect honesty and communication from them. I liked that Ted ends up being the one saying goodbye. (The mustache in the exclamation points!) I like that whether or not Sharon returns in any capacity (Sarah Niles is so wonderful that I hope she does, but I’m not sure), the goodbye these characters forge for themselves here is neither abandonment nor a new, more complicated invitation. It’s the end of a meaningful era, and although the work of healing is the work of a lifetime, it’s very beautiful to have this milestone.
Ted and Rebecca. So, maybe it’s just me, but it kinda feels like these two have a few li’l life things to catch up on?! (HAHHHHHaSdafgsdasdf!) I really adored their interactions in this episode. I maintain that Biscuits With The Boss has been happening this whole time (even when Ted’s apartment was in shambles, there’s biscuit evidence, and I feel like we’ve been seeing the biscuit boxes in Rebecca’s office pretty regularly too), even if it might have been more of a drive-by biscuit drop-off/feelings avoidance ritual. It was really lovely to see Ted on more even footing in Rebecca’s office, joking around until she tells him to shut up, just like the old days. And GOSH—for their 1x9 interaction in Ted’s office to be paralleled in this episode and for Ted to explicitly make note of the parallel in a way Rebecca hears and sees and understands?! MY HEART. In both of Rebecca’s confessions, she is not bringing good news but it is good and meaningful that she chooses to share with Ted. In both situations, Ted takes the moment in stride and offers acceptance equivalent to the gravity of what she has to confess. And in both situations, he’s not some kind of otherworldly saint, able to accept Rebecca no matter what because he’s unaffected by what she shares. He is affected. When he tells her about Sam, you can see a variety of emotions on his face. Rebecca is upset and Ted is calm, and even if I might have liked for him to try to talk about the risk the affair poses to the power dynamics on the team or any number of factors, I also really liked that he just accepts where she is, and—most importantly—does not offer her advice beyond examining herself and taking her own advice. A massive part of being in a relationship with another person (a close relationship of any nature) is figuring out how to support that person without necessarily having to be happy about every single thing they do. It’s so important that Ted connects what she’s just told him about Sam back to what she told him last season about her plot with the club. These both feel like truth bombs to him, and he is at least safe enough to make that clear. These are both things that impact him, things that shape how he sees her and maybe even how he sees himself. He cares about her and is capable of taking in this information; he has room for it. But it’s not something he takes lightly, and neither does she. See you next year.
Tumblr user chainofclovers and the TV show Ted Lasso. My brain is going wild thinking about all the ways the next “truth bomb” conversation could go in 3x11 or whatever. Maybe they go full consistent parallel and Rebecca confesses something else, this time about her and Ted or some other big future thing that impacts him as much or more as the other confessions have. (The same but different.) Maybe the tables turn and Ted has something to confess to her. While the 1x9 conversation ended in an embrace and the 2x11 conversation ended with a bit more physical distance (understandable given the current state of their relationship and the nature of the discussion), the verbal ending of both conversations involved voices moving into a sexier lower register while zooming in to talk specifically about their connection to each other, so I have to assume there will be some consistencies in s3 even if the circumstances will be completely different. I don’t really know where I’m going with this and I obviously will go insane if I sustain this level of anticipatory energy until Fall 2022 but I have a feeling my brain and heart are going to try!
Sam and Rebecca. I know there’s been a lot of criticism about whether this show is being at all realistic about the power dynamics and inevitable professional issues this relationship would create. On some level, I agree; I like that pretty much everyone who knows about the affair has been kind so far, but you can be kind and still ask someone to contend with reality. But I also think that in nearly every plot point on this show, the narrative is driven by how people feel about their circumstances first and foremost. (It’s why the whiteboard in the coaching office and the football commentators tell us more about how the actual football season is going from a points perspective than anyone else.) This episode reminded me how few people know about Sam and Rebecca, and how much their time together so far has been time spent in bed. The private sphere. I thought this episode really expertly brought the public sphere into it, not—thank goodness—through a humiliating exposure or harsh judgment but through an opportunity for Sam that illustrates not only all his potential to do great things but how much Rebecca’s professional position and personal feelings are in conflict with that. Could stand in the way of that. I don’t have a strong gut feeling about where this will go, but I do think Sam’s face in his final scene of this episode is telling. He started the episode wanting to see Rebecca (his most recent text to her was about wanting to connect), and Edwin’s arrival from Ghana really exploded his sense of what is possible for his life. If he’d arrived home to Rebecca sitting on his stoop prior to meeting Edwin, he’d have been delighted. Now he’s conflicted, and whatever decision he makes, he has to reckon with the reality that he cannot have everything he wants. No matter what. And Rebecca—she has taken Ted’s advice and is attempting to be honest about the fact that she can’t control Sam’s decisions but hopes he doesn’t go, and even saying that much feels so inappropriate. And I’m not sure how much she realizes about the inappropriateness of the position she’s putting him in, although maybe she’s getting there considering she exits the scene very quickly. I’ve honestly loved Rebecca’s arc this season. I think it’s realistic that she got obsessed with the intimacy she thought she could find in her phone. I think it’s realistic that her professional and personal ambitions are inappropriately linked. (They certainly were for Rupert. It’s been years since she’s known anything different; even if she’s done some significant recovery work to move on from her abusive marriage and figure out her own priorities, she’s got a long way to go.) I know there are people who will read this interaction between Rebecca and Sam as a totally un-self-aware thing on the part of “the show” or “the writers” but what I saw is two people who enjoyed being in bed together and now have to deal with the reality that they’re in two different places in their lives and that one has great professional power over the other. If that wasn’t in the show, I wouldn’t be able to see it or feel so strongly about it.
Edwin and Sam. I really enjoyed all the complexities of this interaction. Edwin is promising a future for Sam that doesn’t quite exist yet, though he has the financial means to make it happen. He offers this by constructing for Sam a Nigerian—and Ghanaian—experience unlike anything he’s found in London. Sam is amazed that this experience is here, and Edwin’s response is to explain to him that the experience is not here. Not really. The experience in Africa. Sam has of course connected to the other Nigerian players on the team, but this is something else entirely. I’m really curious if Sam is going to end up feeling that what Edwin has to offer is real or not. That sense of home and connection? So real. And so right that he would want to experience that homecoming and would want to be part of building that experience for others. But at the end of the day, he went to a museum full of actors and a pop-up restaurant full of “friends,” and is that constructed authenticity as a stand-in for a real homecoming more or less real than the home he’s building in Richmond? (With other players who stand in solidarity with him, and with well-meaning white coaches who say dumb stuff sometimes, and an a probably-doomed love interest, and a feeling that he should put chicken instead of goat in the jollof, and the ability to stand out as an incredible player on a rising team.)
Nate and everyone. But also Nate and no one. Nate’s story is so painful and I’m so anxious for next week’s episode. For a long time I’ve felt that a lot of Nate’s loyalties are with Richmond, and a lot of his ambitions are around having given so much to this place without getting a lot back, and having a strong feeling that he’s the answer to Richmond’s future. But now I’m not so sure; his ambitions have transferred into asking everyone he knows (except Ted, of course), if they want to be “the boss.” But Nate is all tactics and no communication. When he wants to suggest a new play to Ted, he hasn’t yet learned to read Ted’s language to learn that Ted is eager to hear what he has to say. And while Ted has been really unfortunately distracted about Nate and dismissive of him this season, he clearly respects Nate’s approach to football and was appreciative of the play. Nate just can’t hear that. The suit is such a great metaphor of all the things Nate is in too much pain to be able to hear clearly. Everyone digs at him for wearing the suit Ted bought him (including Will, who’s got to get little cuts in where he can, because he’s got to be sick of the way Nate treats him), but when he gets fed up his solution isn’t to go out on his own and find more clothes he likes; he asks Keeley to help him. And then crosses a major line with her...and no matter how kind she was about it, she was clearly not okay. Everything is going to blow up, and I’m so curious as to whether Nate will end up aligning himself with Rupert in some way or if he’s going to end up screwed over by Rupert and in turn try to screw over his colleagues even worse than he’s already done. Or try desperately to make amends even though it could be too late for some. Either way, I’m fully prepared to feel devastated. (And there’s no way I’m giving up on this character. If he’s able to learn, I truly believe he could end up seeking forgiveness and forging a happier existence for himself. Someday. Like in season 3 or something.)
Ted and Trent. Trent deciding to reveal his source to Ted is a huge deal, and I’m torn between so many emotions about this exposé. I’m glad it’s a Trent Crimm piece and not an Ernie Loundes piece. I’m glad that Trent made the decision to warn Ted and let him know that Nate is his source. I fear—but also hope—that this exposure will set off a chain reaction of Ted learning about some of the things he’s missed while suffering through a really bad bout with his dad-grief and panic disorder. The things Ted doesn’t know would devastate him. I wonder if Ted will want to figure out a way to make Nate feel heard and reconcile with him, and I wonder how that will be complicated if/when he realizes Nate has severely bullied Will, gets more details on how he mistreated Colin, etc. I wonder if Rebecca, whom Nate called a “shrew” right before she announced his promotion, will be in the position of having to ask Ted to fire him, or overriding Ted and doing it herself. So many questions! I have a feeling it’ll go in some wild yet very human-scaled, emotionally-nuanced direction, and I’ll be like “Oh my GOD!” but also like “Oh, of course.”
This VERY SERIOUS AND EMOTIONAL REVIEW has a major flaw, which is that none of the above conversations include mention of the absolute love letter to N*SYNC. Ted passionately explains how things should go while dancing ridiculously! Will turns on the music and starts gyrating! Roy nods supportively! Beard shouts the choreography like the Broadway choreographer of teaching grown men who play football how to dance like a boy band. Everyone is so incredibly proud when they nail it. I love them.
I cannot believe next week is the end. For now. I’m kind of looking forward to letting everything settle during the hiatus, but I’ve really loved the ride.

I love Beard, but more I think about it, the more exasperated I am with how he handled the whole Nate thing.
Because no matter what opinion you have of Nate, Beard did drop the ball on the whole Headspace incident. If you think that Nate is a flawed but ultimately struggling man who needs more support from his bosses in how to be a good coach (and particularly how to coach a player who repeatedly bullied him back in the day), Beard should have done more than just say ‘do better’ and check out. And if you think that Nate is an irredeemable little shit whose words will have irrevocably damaged an already struggling and insecure player, Beard really should have done more than just say ‘do better’ and check out. We don’t see him inquire about Colin or Nate’s state of mind after the incident, which a good coach probably should have done.  And it wouldn’t have taken much in-depth thought to realise that the incident with Colin could have led to a much worse situation if left unchecked - and sadly it was left unchecked.
Similarly when Nate was wishing to get more credit, Beard and Roy essentially ignore the issue. Either way, they could have done more: if you feel that Nate’s ambitions are valid and his concerns were justifiable, Beard and Roy could have asked why he was getting so upset about credit; if you feel that Nate was being self-centred, they could have told Nate to cut it out and remember that he’s part of a team. But again, you have two grown men seeing a situation with the potential to spiral basically shrugging and going ‘enh, you should be getting this but you’re not getting this, but it’s not my job to delve into it further so I’m just going to ignore it’.
I love both Beard and Roy, and I think they’re fantastic characters and great at what they do. But I also think we see them, in many ways, being a little checked-out when it comes to matters they don’t have to worry about. We have:
Beard seeming to actively discourage Jamie from knowing how to talk to him
Roy avoiding coaching Jamie until Ted and Jamie press him to do so (it’s worth noting that while the crux of the conversation is Jamie turning average through Ted’s coaching, it’s difficult to see why this would make Roy refuse to coach him. the impression I’m left with, at least, is that coaching Jamie fuckin’ Tartt is just outside Roy’s comfort zone and he doesn’t particularly want to do it.)
neither Roy nor Beard bothering to enquire why Ted had to suddenly leave work that time to help Sharon, because ‘it’s none of our business’
Like I said, I think both Roy and Beard are fantastic at what they do do, but they don’t seem to try to push any further beyond. Which is absolutely fine, but it’s why if Ted leaves Richmond at the end of season 3 I can’t quite picture either Beard or Roy taking over the role of Head Coach (at least not without some character arcs), because a Head Coach actively needs to encourage the players under their tutelage to talk to them and confide in them. They need to go finding the problems that lurk beneath the surface and dig them up and bring them to light, and I just don’t think Beard and Roy are hungry enough to become better at that part of the job.
(Nate though...for all that his ambition has been misdirected in the past, I suspect he is hungry enough to make the effort. At least, once he gets his head straightened out at West Ham and gets a crash course in the emotional support aspect of the job. It’s why, if Ted were to leave Richmond at the end of season 3, I can actually picture a new and improved - and notably still ambitious, but directing that ambition in a more positive fashion - Nate becoming the team’s new head coach. Certainly more than I can Beard or Roy.)

I’m thoroughly miserable from a trip to the dentist so let’s make it worse! 😂
Episode 9 - La Locker Room Aux Folles
Tumblr media
Well this is a delightful opening!
Spot on with the music choice, as always
Ted & Beard at Roy: one of us! One of us! 😂
I need to know absolutely everything about Beard’s life. It’s not a want. It’s a need.
Oh no, why did they change the angle of Beard ‘fainting’? Was funnier head on, I think
Poor Colin 🥺 (why did I really want to call him Greg? Who the fuck is Greg?? 🫤)
Sniffing clothes must be such a man thing 😂
Come on Issac, I know you’re angry but he’s trying!!
How fucking dirty are your socks, Dani, if Colin can smell them as soon as you’re near?! 😂
Oops 😂😂
YYEEEAAAHHHH!!!
🚨GIRLIE LUNCH! I REPEAT GIRLIE LUNCH!!🚨 I’ve missed them
You’re not supposed to… yet we all do it 🫣 I’m looking at you, Ted
*dramatic gasp* ‘So much blue’ 😂
Their relationship is so gorgeous. They’re fully cheerleaders for one another, and Rebecca is so lovingly maternal towards Keeley in just the right way 🥰
And here comes dadTed 😂
Yes, babe, sniff those biscuits. It’s not like you get them every day or anything
I love how everyone not at all secretly love Ted’s stories as absolutely nobody ever stops him from telling them 👍🏼
And of course Rebecca would flip her lid at the idea of him giving biscuits to anyone else (like Sharon) but Keeley is 100% fine 🥰
We all know money makes everything better. Great job, Ted 🫡 😂
‘Of course, Ted. Family first’ 🥹 beautiful
(There’s 3 people in this scene, but why does it feel like Rebecca & Ted barely take their eyes off one another…🫠)
These fucking lyrics 😂😂😂 and the girls just bobbing along to it
And Miss Rebecca, you’re face is being very wife-life right now. Just saying
‘Fuck no’ Roy, that is your boss! 😂
‘I mean, why can’t Ted do it. 😳 I mean, I’d love to’ 😂 he’s scared of Rebecca 😂 and she didn’t even have to speak!
‘I heard that’ SHES SUCH A MUM!! 😂😂
Mr Shelby. The more I see Jade the more I love her
THEY’RE SO BLOODY CUTE!! 😍🥰😍🥰
What does it say about me that the creepier and more of an arsehole Rupert is, the more I fall in love with Tony?? 🤔 Hmm
‘It’s worthwhile to meet you’ gagged! Oh she clocked him right away. Good for you Jade!!
He’s spouting his usual shit and she’s not falling for any of it. That is the face of an incredibly uninterested woman. FUCK HIM UP, JADE!! 😂
I fully expected that shot it reveal him watching them from that window 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
Oh what beautiful chaos! You just know this scene was a delight to film. Of course they’re having a passionate debate about guitarists, not football! 😂
Also you’re not fooling anyone by saying Joe is better purely because he’s from Kansas. Come on now, Coach.
It also perfectly highlights why we need more Beard 🫣
Hey now! Leave Stairway to Heaven out of this, man! I love that song!!
Beard at the door 😂😂
So true that the press care more about who is the best guitarist rather than football 🫡 journalism we actually care about! 😂
‘The guy from Cream’ 😂😂 they did that for Hannah! I have to agree with her though, Eric is a great guitarist!
Not gonna lie, I am surprised she even knew a rock band to name 😂
I, too, am sick of Roy being Roy. Brett has been wasted on the grump this season.
That’s what we want!! Give me all the Rebecca being Rebecca!!
So real of Leslie to cheer her walking down a hallway. He gets it
‘Get your hair arse into my office. Now!’ God, she’s got when she’s angry 🥵🥵🥵
‘Ooooo’ they’re all just a bunch of kids on a playground. I love it! 😂
Is his arse the only part of him that’s not hairy?? 🤔 That is a furry man 😂
Must be the pick on Richard episode 😂
‘That Ted’s son is failing science. Scandal’ Trent, you’re delightful and I’m sorry you’ve not been here the whole time! 😂
Going to Fairy Gay Godmother for advice. We love to see it 🥹
Henry’s poor teacher 😂
‘What the fuck is your problem’ ‘Wait, I know this one. You are!’ Rebecca, you sarcastic bitch. I love you! 🥰
This dynamic is absolutely gorgeous, too. I feel like Rebecca & Roy are maybe the only two who are fully real with one another without fear that they’re going to upset the other one. With Roy telling her she shouldn’t settle, and now Rebecca telling him he needs to figure out what it is he wants. I wish we had more of these two this season.
Hasn’t Nate got a team, too? Why does he always seem to be doing game play stuff alone?? 🤔 Or does he prefer it that way??
Rupert is disgusting. *insert clip of Hannah saying ‘I fucking love it’*
A guy’s night?? Don’t trust him, Nate! 🫤
Classic Chris & Arlo banter. I’m gonna miss it! 😂
Okay, so a spin off of Mae and the bar is actually what I want. Apple, you listening
Leslie, my boy, what is going on? Why you texting her when she’s right there? What did that text say?? I’m confused.
He was quick to jump in with that handshake stuff 😂 it’s been playing on his mind since they met, I’ll bet 😂
Issac, I know you’re angry, but you’re just being a dick now.
And moving your hand was such an arsehole move. Uncalled for, dude.
Uh oh, the girls are fighting 😳
Some more award winning ‘pretending to care about football’ acting from Hannah there. Nicely done 😂
This guy hand it coming though. Absolutely disgusting behaviour which, unfortunately, is very close to real life.
Okay, Leslie that really was the worst time for a joke, but I will say it did make me laugh 😂
I know it’s all for storytelling purposes, but the boys are right. It’s nothing new to them, So why have such a huge reaction now? These boys have such varied responses and reactions on things sometimes depending on plot point that it’s a little icky 🫣
Sam & Jamie have such a brotherly relationship now. I’m loving it!
Another callback to when Keeley entered the locker room and Roy didn’t want her there. Nice.
Them assuming Issac is gay because of his outburst is totally logical too. But it does kinda force Colin to say something, even if he feels he can’t yet, if he’s to step up for his friend 🫤
Them all looking at Jamie and him telling them he’s flatter is what? 📢GROWTH📢 Can you imagine season 1 Jamie in that situation?! 😳
Roy taking what Rebecca’s just told him and paying it forward to Issac 🥹 the boys are learning!
Fucking Will! 😂 you must just always assume he’s there someone because chances are he is 😂
I kind of love that they didn’t show Colin saying the actual words. It wasn’t needed.
‘You’re gay, big whoop’ exactly Dani. Big whoop indeed!
It wouldn’t be Ted Lasso without a folksy story that may not have anything to do with what they’re talking about 😂 Ted, all you had to say was ‘we do care. What we mean is it doesn’t change anything. You’re not alone’
Look at proud uncle Trent watching them all be amazing 🥹
HOW DO I FALL IN LOVE WITH THESE BOYS MORE AND MORE EVERY EPISODE?! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??
Okay Trent, he’s getting ideas for his book 👀 I’m excited! I’m loving your Dolly t-shirt too, btw 😍
He doesn’t have to hide anymore 🥹
Shut the fuck up, George. No one cares what you have to say
Go off, Mae! 😂 that is a woman you do not want to cross!! 😂
‘Not Claire’ these boys 🥰
Come on, Nate. You know exactly what Rupert is like. You’ve seen him with his assistant with your own eyes, for goodness sake. Like he was ever going to have a drink with you one on one. Be real, man.
Is this the end of his time at West Ham though? I hope so.
A ‘that’s what she said’ joke I’m not so many words? Okay then 🤷🏻‍♀️
Why would she give Ted talking points, Rebecca? You trust him now, remember
A Roy press conference is what’s I’ve always wanted 😍
And he’s using his time to tell a story, just like Ted. Brings a tear to my eye 🥹 GROWTH, PEOPLE!!
This episode really is just a PSA to football fans to keep their fucking mouths shut, and I love that.
‘Five o’clock shadow head’ ‘New Trent’ & ‘Goblin King’ are all why he needed to do more press 😂
He just wanted a hug 🥺
I knew this is what it all came down to, the fact that he was hurt his best friend didn’t feel like he could tell him. But he needed to hear Colin say that 1% chance scared the shit out of him. He’s rather they stay friends than live as his true self freely 🥺
‘The team knows. That’s enough for me’ ‘No one’s gonna say shit. I promise’ OMG I’m on my period and incredibly emotional right now. This scene made me cry just as much as it did the first time 😢
Him asking these question is so real 😂 I’m glad their friendship hasn’t been affected in the slightest.
And I agree, 1967’s Raquel Welch is *chefs kiss*
‘No. But you know I do, yeah?’ I MEANN!!!!🥹🥹
Another great song choice to end on, too!
Well that was another amazing episode!! We even got a little bit more Rebecca than we have since Amsterdam!! And angry Rebecca at that. What a win! 😂
Some absolutely great moments from everyone in this one, but I’m hoping Roy is going to start sorting himself out now and stop being such a grump. We’ve still got that scene of Roy, Keeley & Jamie from the promo to look forward to 🤞🏼
We’ve got Edwin Akufo back next episode which sounds like a delight, even with how he departed last time. My naive Tedbecca loving heart’ and knowing how much this show loves a callback, hopes that his visit involves inviting Ted to coach for his team. I’d love another scene of her telling someone, Ted in this instance, ‘I can’t make you stay, but I don’t want you to go’

organizing my brain re: literary references in ted lasso episode 2:
there were 3-  (actually 4 but the first shakespeare one is kind of a toss away joke- the ‘perchance to dream’ bit)
1. the prince of tides reference is pretty clear cut- the novel is about troubled childhoods (understatement), coaching and complex family relationships as well as therapy, and some romance etc.
it makes total sense that sharon, a sports psychologist, would have that as a favorite book.
2. ‘heavy is the head that wears the visor’
it’s a pretty clear cut jokey reference to henry iv part 2
and i encourage you to go read the whole soliloquy because it's good stuff, but here’s the essential part:
“Canst thou, O partial sleep, give thy repose
To the wet sea-boy in an hour so rude,
And in the calmest and most stillest night,
With all appliances and means to boot,
Deny it to a king? Then happy low, lie down!
Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.”
this is such an incredibly incisive quote for sharon to use, because it’s not only about anxieties messing up sleep which we know ted struggles with--
it’s also the fact that henry iv was a usurper with no god given right to the throne. he is portrayed as an indecisive ruler in the play with his doubt and uncertainty resulting partially from his own belief that he did not deserve the ‘crown’, even though in the previous play he’s in (richard ii) he is portrayed as ambitious and capable.
(i.e. sharon has this man’s NUMBER. she KNOWS.) (this is also what we call good fucking writing)
3. THE GODDAMN FOUNTAINHEAD? TED.
christ boy i want the explanation we were denied before i make any conclusions but imma give you one (1) yikes right off the bat.
so i am a person who has read that whole book- because rory gilmore did, obviously. i also chose rand as my author one year in high school (she had the longest books and i was a pretentious prick) so i have read just about everything she ever wrote and i’ve gotta say- that woman is absolutely mad. and she can absolutely write. and she needed a better editor, but i imagine if some bloke had come along and tried to edit her goddamn 75 page monologues i’m pretty sure she would have set him on fire.
(howard roark blows up a building because someone fucks with his architectural plans in the fountainhead, but the longest monologues are in atlas shrugged which no one should ever feel like they need to read)
anyway, i do see how this happened, and i can *kind of* see a reason or two why ted says this. so he started high school in the late 80′s when ‘greed was good’ and books like the fountainhead that have extreme examples of individualism were very popular- so he probably first read it as a school related thing.
and honestly, when you read that book as a teen it is quite appealing- this character who gives absolutely no fucks and follows his own ideas to the very letter at the expense of absolutely everything else. roark is unaffected by setbacks, by shitty people he works with, the woman he loves (WHOLE OTHER CONVO BTW) going off and marrying several dweebs because she's not quite at his level yet. he has absolute courage of his convictions.
it’s also just a fucking remarkable novel- like as long as you know that the philosophy in it is absolutely bonkers. all the characters are incredibly flawed- including the ‘flawless hero’- there’s just something about it.
maybe the ted lasso connection is that the fundamental quality the characters share is real no-holds-barred-belief.
for roark it’s belief in ego and the self, for ted- he believes in belief itself, the power of the human mind to be curious and entirely leave aside judgement
and deep down both of them really do believe that they are the best at what they do and that anyone else’s interference makes the whole endeavor tainted- for ted though, he may get over that. IN THERAPY. WE HOPE.
anyways there’s a bit in there that reminds me of ted during the darts scene- it’s in the fountainhead just before the ‘they killed the guy who invented fire’ speech that every dumb rand loving asshole you’ve ever known quotes.
“Roark stood before them as each man stands in the innocence of his own mind. But Roark stood like that before a hostile crowd--and they knew suddenly that no hatred was possible to him. For the flash of an instant, they grasped the manner of his consciousness. Each asked himself: do I need anyone’s approval?--does it matter?--am I tied? And for that instant, each man was free--free enough to feel benevolence for every other man in the room.“
tldr; ted was a weird kid, and so was i, but he needs to read more books

Have some Ted Lasso Thoughts on 2x11 because I loved the episode:
- On Nate: So I made the Dorian Gray comment in jest, but the more I think about it, the more I think it’s actually being used as a parallel. His psych up routine has involved the mirror with him divorcing his sense of self into two to treat one half like shit while amping up the other. Given his descent into greyness/age (something he professed fearing), it’s almost a visual representation of the Dorian Gray story, but all the bad traits are leaking out past the mirror, or it’s in fact a subversion where the kind/sweet Nate is being pushed away. I do not think the season is going to end well for him, because he is going to lose everyone’s trust, but I also think him striking out on his own is going to go poorly because as good as Nate is with tactics, he’s a bad coach. Look at the way he treats Colin and Will. He may have a mind for how to position players, but he’s not a head coach and I think he’s going to learn that. The hard way.
- On Roy/Keeley: I’m pretty pleased with how they went this episode, honestly. We got supportive Roy, and we got them both being super honest about even the most minor of things. I think for Roy, there’s an element of ‘am I enough?’ and possibly ‘have I missed my chance’ when it comes to Keeley + marriage, or call it long term.
- On Keeley: I love love love that we got a dip into her fears and her feelings and I actually love that she was so supportive of Nate. The narrative has not given her any other reason to be, so her kindness set things in motion where Nate made all the wrong choices, but I love that she was not malicious in accidentally doing it. Also, I speculated with people that she and Roy were going to have a pregnancy scare at the end of the season (so much emphasis on Dad!Roy), and I still think they might? Only with the emphasis on Keeley becoming a rising star in the business world, that might set up the question of whether that’s what she wants (now or at all)
- On Sam: This actually goes up to the top about Nate, but as a parallel. If Sam takes this opportunity from Akufo, he’s likely no longer going to be a leader and a rising star. He will be dependable and a great player, but he will be more of a presence in the media and a core part of a team that could win the World Cup, and if he takes it, he’d be a team player. With Sam, though, I think if he does take it, he will be okay with that, because it’s a self-professed goal to be on that team. Not the star, on the team. That said, I do suspect he will not take it, but for reasons of the heart.
- On Ted: I loved Ted this episode so much. I loved him so much and I loved him and Dr. Sharon and honestly, I’m ready for some Ted whump because I feel like he’s ready to handle this and I cannot wait to see what comes of the betrayal from inside the house
- LAST THING. IT’S GONNA BE ME, BEARD, it sure is. Also, the celebration after Bye, Bye, Bye was so fantastic and Colin with the lambo? GOLD. I love these himbos so much.
Let’s gooooo bring on the finale
