may not have been intentional or have a bigger meaning but in dans gay and not proud video the minute he shuts the door on his depressed teenage self he immediately calls out to see where phil is. Like he’s shutting the door on that darkness and stepping back into the ‘light’ where everything’s not so dark and he’s got phil now. Idk just something I noticed.

To my Doctor Who fans, especially American and other international fans
Does anybody notice that it's hard to find Doctor Who merch anywhere in post 2020 than before, or it's just me?

when analyzing media it's definitely important to consider what is and isn't realistic because that is definitely a crucial aspect of the storytelling, however i think that you need to ALSO analyze it from the perspective of a story that is being told by authors who live in the real world and that is being read by an audience that is living in the real world, meaning you have to consider the real-world meanings and implications of certain storytelling choices. you have to ask yourself why an author wrote something a certain way. you have to ask yourself how it affects others. you have to ask what societal biases might be influencing the story. when jkr rowling writes a novel about a man disguised as a woman killing people, you don't focus on realism alone, you use your critical thinking skills to go "hey, maybe this isn't a good message because it says something about irl trans issues." media doesn't exist in a vacuum
