Girly Kei clothes on hot topic!

I know it's hard to find girly Kei stuff in places that aren't Japanese brands, and usually that comes with SUUUPER expensive shipping. Even more expensive if you don't want it to take months to arrive.

Luckily, hot topic has some stuff that I think would work pretty well for girly kei (although there's probably mostly dark girly stuff, since it is Hot Topic). I was bored and decided to go through and screenshot a bunch of items that I think would work well. It's not exactly like what you would buy from a Japanese store but it still works!

Also, slight warning, hot topic is fast fashion so it might not last long. Not to say it won't, I have stuff from hot topic that I wear often that's lasted me years now. Their stuff that has metal usually doesn't last as long though, they use cheap stuff that breaks easy.

ain’t no way…. i’m about to get in an argument with this person ”don’t misinform because you don’t like the culture some people who wear it engage in” BITCH I AM JIRAI KEI AND YOURE WRONG. 地雷女 came before girly kei fashion was mislabeled as jirai kei. companies sell their stuff as jirai kei because it pushes sales, but even then many still mark it as girly kei fashion

ダークガーリー is still technically a term, too. which is close to what the typical jirai kei is going to be wearing, if its not, then current trend of a more punk-type leaning aesthetic ish type thing (i think? if im not mistaken but someone correct me if im wrong on that)

this kind of thing frustrates me so much but like… the namida bukuro makeup is honestly more telling than the clothes if someone considers themselves a landmine and even then, you shouldn’t go around just calling someone jirai kei. it’s derogatory, and part of why calling it landmine fashion is such an issue.

please, disregard my safe place a little more. it’s people like this that have made things more difficult to tag 地雷系 and avoid the fashion “landmines” without worrying about the backlash from them when mentioning anything even remotely unpalatable.

today's girly kei wearer of the day is akiyama mizuki from project sekai colorful stage! They're also canonically nonbinary!

they're a great example that girly kei is for everyone! seeing as girly kei isnt synonymous with all feminine fashion and is instead an actual established alternative fashion, it's important to remember that it's not just for people who identify as female! girly kei uses the katakana for the english word "girly" as opposed to the japanese word for girly, so in the west it can be a bit tricky to distinguish girly kei from feminine fashion if you're new to it!
