Jindai-ji Temple Daruma Doll Market

Early March

One of the biggest Daruma Doll Markets in Japan, over 300 stalls selling the round dolls gather around the grounds of Jindai-ji Temple. Daruma are sold with blank eyes which owners paint in once their wish for the New Year has been fulfilled. Unique to the Jindai-ji Daruma Market, visitors can bring their old dolls and have the character 阿 painted on their right eye (which has the meaning of closing events) and in the left eye of the new doll have the character 梵 painted to signify new beginnings.

だるまちゃんとおでかけ(2023) 個展「春色」より

今回の個展では着物を着た人をモチーフにした絵を中心に展示しました。 ランダムに選んだ気にになる浮世絵をベースに描いた作品です。 手に持っているダルマさんが展示中、人気でした。 “Going out with Daruma-chan” (2023) From the solo exhibition “Spring Colors"In this solo exhibition, I mainly exhibited paintings featuring people wearing kimonos. The works are based on ukiyoe that I randomly selected and liked. Daruma doll in her hand was popular among visitors during the exhibition.

はじめて、だるまの串カツを食べました。

とっても美味しかったです。こんなに串カツばっかり、たらふく食べたのははじめて。

ソースはかけるタイプになっていました。

食べるのに夢中で、写真撮るのはすっかり忘れましたね。
