I think I'm going to have to go with tumblr, and it's not just because we're here. Twitter and Bluesky are nice and my experiences on both are overwhelmingly positive. But tumblr has an atmosphere that encourages originality, sharing your creations and talking about things in depth.

in the lore, Fate (the deity my cats worship for those of you unaware) doesnt speak to the cats, she shows them stuff! i made a big point of it with the blurb i wrote about glowstar yelling at her, and he receives a vision rather than direct words. you could say the snake skin was her attempt at saying “THERE IS A RATTLER IN THE ROCKS DUMB DUMBS PAY ATTENTION”

however, that doesn’t mean she can’t speak… and she’s not the only one who can do this. 👀

one thing i find really difficult about navigating the IF space is the direct line of contact between readers and authors. we share the same space, and i think that plays a big part in this weird blurred line we have in this community and overall lack of boundaries.

for a lot of people this is a fun hobby and while i personally try to keep it... semi-professional most of the time, it's easy to get wrapped up in having fun on tumblr (or the forums, or reddit, wherever it is that you mainly post/interact) and have a lot of personal interactions with both readers and authors alike - which is fun! i like it more often than not, but i also think that's why a lot of comments in this space can end up being really entitled, over-familiar, and inappropriate.

it's no secret that most authors get really weird messages on here, and while this is also a problem on social media at large and not just specific to IF tumblr, it is still definitely a big problem in this community.

and to be clear i'm not saying that you can't be friendly with authors or readers (i've become friends with a handful of readers myself) and i definitely don't mean to imply that there needs to be a huge divide between us; that's silly - again, most authors are readers, most readers are authors, we’re just people on the internet sharing the same space. but all of us deserve to have our boundaries respected. this is my story, and we are strangers. as a general rule of thumb: if you wouldn't say it out loud to someone you just met, you probably shouldn't be saying it to a stranger online. especially anonymously.

Is it ok if we print some of your artworks? Not to sell them or profit by them in any way, just for decorative reasons.

Also, I know you don't have a shop where we can buy any prints/stickers/anything (if you did I wouldn't even consider printing them by myself) but have you ever thought of actually making one? Maybe, if not your own shop, sign up(?) on inprnt or something?

Sure! If you just want to print out my art so you can stick it on your wall or something, go ahead. (As long as it's just personal non-commercial use and you're not claiming ownership over the artwork or the characters).

I used to have a Society6 shop but I closed it last year, mostly due to changes in their terms of service. They were cutting into artists' already meager profits, and the last time I heard of it, they were planning to add a subscription fee on top of that. It just started to feel a little bit exploitative. (I also had read some reports that the quality of some of their products had gone downhill over the years but I can't attest to that).

I already have an Inprnt account waiting in the wings, but I haven't gotten around to adding any prints to it yet. (Are there any specific pieces you'd potentially be interested in? I know people ask about the 'You cannot eat money' one pretty frequently.)

Here's a abbreviated lesson for you.

The modern state of Israel was created by a mandate of the league of nations, which was the precursor to the united nations. Well before that while the territory was still under Ottoman control there were people purchasing up large amounts of land and settling in as well as making the place livable, since it was very lightly populated at the time as a result of there being all kinds of swamps and malaria and what not in big chunks of that land. Fast forwarding 60+ years and on the official go date the British mandate was set to expire and what should have been 2 nations being born several other nations in the region decided that they were going to destroy one of those nations before it had a chance to even plant their flag.

Those nations lost that war and with it a shit ton of territory, which Israel claimed as theirs through right of conquest which is how pretty much every nation ever has has territorial changes take place.

Ever since then those nations have been trying to destroy Israel and all of the people in it, and they keep losing, and losing territory in the process, most of which Israel has been nice enough to give back.

For some reason no matter how many wars they lose they keep trying to bring down Israel, it's actually pathetic of them when you look at it objectively. It was a strip of land they didn't care about until someone else wanted it.
