You know it always hurt how the actors who played their respective characters on the show, loved them so dearly but Maisie couldn't ever seem to get that footing when it came to Arya. Emilia loved Dany and Nikolaj loved Jaime. Sophie was obviously on cloud 9 regarding Sansa...but Maisie...every time she spoke about Arya, it seemed like she had nothing in on the character except for those popular misconceptions. I know that this is on the actor themselves but Maisie was so, so young when GoT aired for the first time. Granted she could have given those books a chance later, so maybe this is on her but as an actor she was given a script and whatever she had been given, she always nailed it. She trusted those scripts and it is not like even if she had read the books, she could have had a say in the ( lack of )creative decision of the directors. My point is that there was no love nurtured for Arya in the show. With the plotline where Arya spent so much time on the road, it was necessary for them to dress the actor in rags, but still love could have been nurtured with how one chose to tell the story. I know show only viewers of any series often criticize book purists by saying that not everything on page can be translated for TV and it is true, but that's why we have a team of people working on a show so that even when it becomes necessary to leave out certain things, the essence of story is preserved. Or to even bring the story that has already been told in a book onto new heights ( like I have heard them doing with Jacob's vampire show)...but with GoT and especially when it came to Arya, they cut her down to a deformed skeleton of what the character was actually supposed to be. I don't know if I am remembering correctly but Maisie didn't like those ragged costumes. She was in school and Arya's costumes when on run didn't help Maisie's self esteem, and I understand that the get up with the hair and all was a very important part of the story but Arya had other dresses even when on the run! You are telling me Ed Sheereen ( is that how you spell the name) could be an extra on the set but could not get anyone to play Lady Smallwood? You had Sophie in her #girlboss dress at Vale but not one dress for Maisie with acorns? That's Arya's song. Arya's song with Gendry whom Arya fucked in the show. Stupid ass needle costume for Sophie but not even a rich mummer's cloak for Maisie? You butchered her story, you won't give her more than the bare minimum when it came to costumes. You won't style her...how would she know how to love Arya Stark? I also don't know about her friendship with Sophie. Like that's their business but why blindly agree with everything Sophie has had to say about your character? Like I know there was no research done on Maisie's part...that always sucks. But if the narrative set up by the writers too is that distorted and with a friend whose whole personality during filming was of a Stansa...then yeah it is no wonder why she couldn't really love Arya.

i actually was trying to think of good added scenes and the only other one i could come up with is the viserys & doreah in the bath, i think it does a really good job of balancing the exposition & sexy while staying grounded in the characters stories and sufficiently tied to the overarching plot. plus the acting is really great in it.
that’s what makes all the other ones really good too - that entire cersei & robert convo about lyanna is just one of the best acted scenes in the whole series, and the way mark addy looks up with such guilt in his eyes bc robert understands he’s a bad man but he is enabled by everyone around him to get worse & doesn’t care enough to try, and lena heady just. closes herself up and looks away. cersei will not give him a single goddamn inch. you can almost forget about the added black haired baby they had lmao.
the “500 people just stood there and watched” scene is maybe a little too heavy on the big speeches, not quite as natural as the writing in the robert/cersei scene, but still beautifully acted - the way sean bean just completely captures being so fucking unimpressed by his dude - it was still a great & natural way to get that exposition in there for the audience because it helps establish who ned and jaime are fundamentally as people and then putting it in the throne room adds a really raw element to nikolaj’s performance too.
and that’s really the key thing there right, is that those extra scenes have to have ALL of those elements. some of the other sexposition scenes that may be grounded in the character do not handle the sex/exposition ration well - the littlefucker brothel scene explaining his hatred of ned & brandon comes to mind, as does bronn explaining the story behind the rains of castamere song - and an added scene has to have a natural flow to it, it can’t just clearly be given to the actors so they can chew on some scenery while d&d are heavy handed as fuck with the cinematography like that goddamn chaos is a ladder scene.
the fact that all the best versions of that “two characters talking” and “sexposition” added scenes almost all come in season one is really depressing to me tho aksjsj these guys wrote one (1) good season of tv and then said alright pack it up let’s go home time to light several bajillion dollars on fire for no good reason.

An exclusionary fanfic exchange implying that those who like the show are somehow lesser than you is nothing to be proud of.
Ok so, I was gonna be nice and all and joke around about show fans lack of taste but I thought better and maybe this deserve a proper response since it seems like y’all feel as if you can say whatever you want but don’t have to hear what others want to say it back.
Ever since season 8 ended, y’all show stans have been on some bs huh? I honestly don’t get it. When the exchange was announced, there was a “warning” for it coming from y’all’s side as if a book exchange needs a trigger warning or something. And don’t think I didn’t notice that another exchange was happening around the same time and the word “inclusive” was thrown around as if by accident and not as a dig to some imaginary offense y’all think book shippers have said to y’all just because they rather read… book fics. I can personally testify about the bs that I’ve seen myself, like people dogpiling on a fan just because they complimented a show fic saying that it was very good and how it fixed the show’s writing. As if they called y’all’s mother the devil by stating the obvious (that the show sucks). As if saying that (that the show sucks) is a personal offense to y’all. Don’t y’all see how much this is a self report?? Like, y’all ALONE are the ones associating liking the show = being called dumb, lacking of taste or whatever else y’all think we are calling you for liking the show. We aren’t the ones saying that. We aren’t saying shit actually. We are just enjoying our thing but even that seems to make y’all pressed.
You guys fucking DOMINATE all the tags and then want to claim book fans are “exclusionary” when we, “BOOK SNOBS”, are the ones who have VERY LITTLE fic and content. If we don’t do it ourselves, we definitely won’t get it from y’all. Which is fine by me, because I don’t care if other people don’t like what I like. And I’m more than happy with creating the content I want to see. But it's SUPER SELFISH and EMBARRASSING that the ONE TIME book fans want to get extra content, we need to read passive aggressive bullshit. When WE ARE THR ONES who need to dive through thousands and thousands of show content IN BOOK TAGS because y’all can’t tag things properly for shit, nvm all the Nikolaj and Gwen content that have absolutely several nadas to do with Brienne and Jaime and asoiaf. Y’all make 10 million exchanges per year and we don’t complain, but suddenly a book only exchange is cause for meltdowns crying throwing up?
(And don’t think I don’t know you only sent this to the book exchange mod who isn't as well known and beloved (me) because y’all know if it was Ell receiving that, that it would backfire.)
So like, as an exclusionary j/b stan, let me be very clear: I don’t like the show, I don’t care for the ship version of the show, and I won’t stop creating spaces where I can discuss and read content about the book characters of my ship without having to deal with UNSOLICITED opinions about them from people who throw a crying fit every time someone as much as hint that the show version doesn’t hold a candle to book j/b. Artists want to produce their art without having to read UNSOLICITED opinions about the book characters that come across as disrespectful just because y’all rather simp for d&d and can’t conceive why others don’t feel like it. If you don’t like book fics or the book version of the ship, my suggestion is:
Don’t read it.

Lol thank you S2 of Shadow and Bone
Okay you know what, Alina did not deserve Aleksander.
The initial draw that Darklina had for me was it's Reylo parallels
Aleksander and Ben are both people who wanted something good but the means they used to justify those ends are only moral in a utilitarian sense
-Ben has been persecuted all his life for being Vader's grandson, was preyed on by Palpatine and his own mother, father and uncle looked at him like he was some big problem and so he wanted to be ruler of a galaxy where he will no longer be persecuted
-Aleksander has been persecuted all his life for being Grisha, he has watched his own family die, his lover, and countless friends
-Both of them find an unlikely soulmate in the hero of the story
-Rey is an orphan seeking belonging, finding purpose in being the Last Jedi and being the savior of the galaxy and yet she's inexplicably drawn to Ben Solo
-Alina is an orphan seeking belonging, finding purpose in being the Sun Summoner and being savior of Ravka
Then there's the sizzling Force Bond connections between them that make everything extra appealing because who doesn't appreciate Force Bonds people?
But here is where things differ:
-When Rey found out that all of this happened to Ben (this meaning Luke tried to kill him, he has been hearing voices in his head, he feels alone) >Rey almost kills Luke, confronting him for what he has done >Ships herself to her Space Husband and tries to save him from Palpatine -When Ben however being the idiot that he is still chooses to stick with his rule the galaxy plan, Rey says fuck this and (rightfully) fights against him -Ultimately though, she admits that she wanted him, but not as Kylo Ren but as Ben, her Ben that she knows is in there
-Ben realizes that living wanting revenge and being angry all the time was not helpful to him and tries to make ammends -He saves Rey and I may not agree with his death as it truly defeats the purpose of his character arc but it was in keeping with character - Ben loves Rey more than anything, more than his own revenge
In the end the Dyad becomes a true soulmate pair, they love each other so much that they are willing to do anything for the benefit of the other, they love each other so much that nothing else matters.
This season 2 of Shadow and Bone was only palatable because of the chemistry Jessie and Ben have but ultimately
-Alina is a thoughtless, selfish child. She could not grasp why Aleksander did all of this in the way Rey understood why Ben did what he did to become Kylo. In her head Aleksander is just a monster, who lied to her and deceived her and she's the big warrior ready to defeat the big bad monster -I always hated Mal but I truly felt and sympathized with him this season because unlike in the books - Mal is fully supportive of Alina in her ventures and did not try to stop her from using her powers. He just tried to stop her from combusting and killing everyone around them. But how does Alina treat him - she ends up getting engaged to a Prince she flirts with THEN gets angry at Mal when Mal doesn't get jealous/hurt/fight for her. Like Alina girl, make up your damned mind about this. -She has no sympathy for anyone, and only feels bad for herself, seeking Merzost -in the end she uses the Cut which is like yeah, obviously, your girl was hungry for this power
-Aleksander was well fleshed out this season and we see the complex feelings he has for his mother and Alina, but as Ben Barnes described it the toxicity within him where he is unable to see reason in the way Ben Solo did his - therefore he was incapable of changing for people he loved
So in conclusion, I'm not so angry at the way this ended because truly Alina did not deserve Aleksander OR Mal OR Nikolaj. She's just this petty pathetic poorly written girl who's only value is that she can summon the sun.
Aleksander deserved to die because he would have never stopped his search for power because that came before love, before anyone or anything. His desire to save Grisha has been corrupted and in that way he never would have stopped even if he became Tsar.
Also kudos to Mal for breaking up with Alina. Like yes please run for your life this girl does not know what she wants and just uses people wishy washy
Can we be done with the Grisha arc because I'd much rather see Nina, Inej, Zoya and Genya featured - I loved how Inej and Kaz blossomed in this season and Jesper and Weylan are so cute. I need to see Nina and her Fjerdan together again
Also don't get me started on Genya - like was that fucking necessary.
I mean I never had high hopes about Leigh Bardugo but really kudos to the chemistry between Ben and Jessie and how they really brought some form of humanity into these characters that got me to love them, but no amount of Ben and Jessie can save this truly atrocious writing.
I also recently saw an interview where Ben was like - the way to win an Oscar is if you do something less good with me the year before and I really felt for him, someone needs to give Ben Barnes the script he deserves :(

“the best kevin” - a danish viaplay documentary about kevin magnussen (2/2):
haas troubles and meatball flags
according to kevin then you have to be a little arrogant when things don’t go your way in f1, you have to tell yourself that it will solve itself because if you start overthinking then you will begin making mistakes (he compares it to losing in poker and then you start betting more and more to gain what you have lost)
k-mag’s only comment to the fia’s behaviour this year was a laugh and him saying “i’m not really sure what to say” which tells me he has plenty to say but also know not to say it 😅
nikolaj, his physio/trainer, says that kevin is a master in getting over bad race weekends and focusing on the next race, he also gives louise props for this as she sends a lot of laura videos to kev to help distract him
he says that it is still hard not to be affected when it does not go to plan, but a bad race weekend does not ruin his entire week anymore. kevin is more focused on solutions than dwelling on bad results and when he gets home to denmark, he puts it all aside and is there for louise and laura
beforehand kevin would fear the future and was constantly in a state of “what if?” but now he does look at f1 more as a job and says it is still very important but it’s not everything in his life
the japanese gp and fear
kevin could quickly tell that the japanese gp would be very risky due to the amount of rain and he was not comfortable with it. as he says then the real danger in f1 is not hitting the wall (although obviously that can also be deadly but there is a high chance of survival) but instead hitting another car that you cannot see due to poor conditions and that is what kevin feared during the japanese gp
driving in spray is comparable to driving in a thick cloud where you cannot even see your front wheels, you basically cannot even be sure that you are driving on the track
even before the red flag then kevin has made up his mind that is was simply too dangerous and had backed off a little bit
austin and mark slade
there was a kevin and marcus ericsson reunion in austin! the two of them have known each other since they were kids and were pretty good buddies when marcus was also on the f1 grid
kevin does not think about how many races without points, he deems that as bad energy and that is not how he works, so he did not have that in mind in austin
having mark slade as a race engineer has really helped kevin who is grateful for mark’s vast experience and he has a high level of trust in him, kev said in the documentary that it allowed him to just focus on driving the car and not worry about everything else (earlier in the year then kev confessed that he had basically been given extra responsibilities due to a constant change of race engineers)
during the austin gp, kevin decided to try and drive in a different way to nurse his tyres from the get go and it works. he then tells the team that he believes that he can get the tyres to the end and then the team had to decide whether to trust him or not. it was basically an all or nothing strategy. the team decided to trust him and told him to finish the race on the medium tyres. in the end, he finished the race as the only driver on a one-stop strategy with 38 laps old mediums that was supposed to only last 20 laps according to pirelli, the two points he scored in austin was meant that haas beat alpha tauri in the constructors
while kevin was annoyed to lost the position to vettel who was on 15 laps old hards, he did think they managed some really good racing on that last lap of the austin gp
kevin credit mark slade for his pole position, he said that it was mark who made sure everyone in the team did the right things and got him out in front of the queue
the brazilian sprint and kevin’s ambitions
there is this cute scene with mark slade taking pictures of kevin’s car in the p1 box like a proud parent and then he has a conversation with guenther about it being a long time since he’s been there and guenther saying “i have never been here!” 😂
kevin says his ultimate ambition is still to become world champion, he says that it feels fake to say “i’m totally alright with being where i am, it does not matter if i become world champion or not”, kevin is still aiming high and he feels that if he was offered a place in a top team then he would be deserving of the chance and he knows that he would be able to do a good job
jesper said that when mazepin bought his way into the team then he felt like it was the beginning of the end of formula 1, but his love and belief in f1 returned when kevin got back purely on talent
jan says that kevin being out of formula 1 was the extra push he needed, he said there was nothing to be afraid of anymore for kevin because he now knows there is a good life waiting on the other side of f1 as well and now he can drive with less pressure and be more honest with himself and the team, he says this is the best kevin (hence the title) that he has ever seen
kevin says that he has never been afraid of getting hurt but he has been very afraid of failure and now he is not as afraid anymore
kiesa, one of the danish experts, believes that there is a chance for kevin to get into a top team if he proves himself with amazing results several times during a season and the timing is right

BIO
GROWING UP
Alastor was raised in pureblood society, the youngest of four sons of renowned aurors Winston and Lyanna moody. Growing up he was spoiled and conceited, never wanting for anything but knowing he could get whatever he wanted, he was brilliant but lazy, with more to offer on the quidditch pitch than in the classroom. With his brothers already carrying on the family legacy as aurors, Alastor dreamed of becoming an international quidditch sensation.
When Alastor was 16 years old, he lost his entire family at the hands of dark wizards seeking revenge. The only reason he survived was because he was at Hogwarts. The Moody family was greatly respected, and an immediate investigation was launched by the Ministry, the wizards responsible were apprehended and sent to Azkaban. Alastor chose to become an Auror to honor his family as they had been killed for doing their jobs, for doing what was right. He tries to live up to the family name but it’s getting harder with each day.
START OF THE WAR
Alastor still remembers the day everything changed. And no, it wasn’t the day they told him he had lost his entire family. That had been so long ago, at times he even believed that the person he was at sixteen, before that, didn’t really exist, had not really exist. No. The day everything changed had been but a few years ago. At the time he had been mad, annoyed was more like it, that the auror department had been called into that crime scene when it had been cleared of any dark magic. The auror department was supposed to chase and capture dark wizards and witches, not waste their time with common crimes. But upon arriving Alastor realized that there was something far darker, something that was about to change their lives.
“Do we keep track of hate crimes?” Alastor had asked, confusion was the only answer he got, “we should start” he had said looking at the crime scene in front of him.
He had been right, everything had changed. A war had started, and it had not slowed down. And since that moment the auror department had handle the cases that had fallen under the criteria of the thing propelling this war. Hate.
PRESENT TIME
They had seen it coming, the war, it did not take them by surprise or unprepared. But it still took it’s toll on all of them. If it was up to Alastor he would not call it a war, in wars you know your enemy, this was something different, this was something worse. Because you really didn’t know who you could trust. Alastor had learned the hard way what happened when you put your trust on the wrong person, and had vowed never to let it happen again.
Alastor still remembers the moment he learned about the order. He had received a message, an invitation to attend a meeting by the one and only Albus Dumbledore. Alastor had arrived at the appointed time and place, and he had listened to Albus sway those in the room into joining the group that would go face to face against the ever-growing evil outside. And even if Alastor had been skeptic at first, even going as far as telling Dumbledore that he could not expect him to join a group operating outside the ministry, Alastor had been surprised that the older wizard didn’t laugh in his face, anyone who knew Alastor knew how little regard he had for the ministry, specially what fell under their jurisdiction. But this was different, this was asking people, skilled and unskilled, young and old, to fight a war. Even with all his doubts Alastor had no option but to agree that such a group was needed, to operate where the ministry couldn’t or wouldn’t. He reluctantly agreed to join, to help in any way he could. And then the first general meeting happened, and there were only a couple of things Alastor had regretted more than having joined the order. The room was full of kids. People fresh out of Hogwarts, with lives and futures ahead of them. It didn’t matter if some law declared them of age, they were young, children in every sense of the word.
And now, now Dumbledore had them searching for the only means to end this war, Alastor did not doubt the information brought for by the youngest Black, that kind of regret and determination is hard to fake, but to put their faith on a single task, well Alastor would rather keep hunting down Death Eaters, but even if he clashed with Dumbledore more often than not, he was still committed to see the end of it all.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
Frank Longbottom: Fellow auror, probably mentee.
Alice Lestrange: Fellow auror, probably mentee.
Amelia Bones: Co-Worker.
WANTED DYNAMICS
KEEP ME GROUNDED. Is not that Alastor forgets social niceties and manners, is that he just couldn’t care less whether people like him or not. Which only leads to him coming off as a straight up asshole on his worse days, and a paranoid grump on a daily basis. He could use someone he respects and is strong enough to call him out when he’s being a jerk. To point out where the line is, and making it clear that it is not okay to cross it.
BROTHERS IN ARMS. You are only as good as the person fighting next to you. Someone Alastor had grown to respect and rely on. They might not always have a heart-to-heart about their feelings, but this is one of the few people Alastor knows he can turn to. Whether sharing drinks or just being there for each other, this is one of the few people Alastor can honestly say he trusts.
SURE I’LL TEACH YOU. Alastor has a hard time believing anyone in their right mind would chose him as a mentor. Even so Alastor stepped into the role and with each passing generation he gets better at preparing aurors. Now with the order he has also taken the responsibility to get them ready for a fight he wished they never had to fight. Alastor is always willing to work with anyone who wants to be better prepared and work on refining their technique.
JUST PROMISE YOU WON’T END UP LIKE ME. Callous grumpy nature aside, Alastor is a mentor at heart, and sometimes even if it surprises everyone around, he might end up giving some advice to those brave enough to bring up discussing their feelings with him. Rumor says the best time to approach him is when he’s drinking, that’s when he’s more at ease, he might even pour you one.
FIGHT ME. It’s not that he lives to make enemies, that’s just something that happens from time to time. With the wizarding society hanging by a fine thread, and Alastor living up to his last name every day of the week, everyone could easily fall into this category. Whether this is someone who annoys him, like a fellow ministry employee, or someone Alastor would love to punch their teeth out if the opportunity ever were to arise.
NOTHING LEFT TO SAY BUT GOODBYE. Alastor was born and raised into the pureblood life. His parents were never pureblood elitists, and coming from a long line of Aurors they had an impeccable reputation. His family was murdered before any of them could be labeled blood traitors. At sixteen Alastor was left to carry on a family legacy. He cultivated many friendships through his childhood and early years in Hogwarts. Some of those friends, that he once considered family, have now turned out to be on the other side of the war. What happens when the person you would take a hit for is the one pointing the wand at you?
I WOULD FOR YOU. Alastor’s family was taken from him in the blink of an eye. For years he convinced himself that caring for anyone was only going to end in pain and heartbreak. Despite having friends that he cared for and loved, he always tried to push them and keep them at arm’s length. After a failed engagement he accepted the fact that he was not meant to have a family. Alastor might never have children of his own, but family has always been about more than blood.
Things to consider:
Alastor Moody is an Auror in canon.
Moody served with distinction during the first conflict, gaining a reputation as a skilful battler against the Dark Arts and sacrificing an eye, a leg, and part of his nose during the conflict.
ALASTOR is currently TAKEN and played by SNOW.

Rose's Family: a rundown
So, my boy Rostislav Hylwood has a ridiculously large family, and I wanted to note them down as part of his Official Lore if anyone is interested.
His family is (very) loosely based off of a Polish friend of mine's who's family is Catholic, which is why they're Like That.
Mum & Dad
Nijala (nih-ya-la) Aranov and Alfred "Alfie" Hylwood (hill-wood). Separated not long after Rose was born after a breakdown in the marriage. Nijala wanted Alfie to join her family's stone mason business, but Alfie wanted to continue working as a musician, even though it was leaving them near-destitute. He lived with his mum most of the time, but his dad was still in his life, and even taught him how to play various instruments.
When Rose grew up and started working in stone masonry, he'd sneak out at night to go to taverns with his dad, not to drink, but to perform as a duo. Alfie was proud of Rose when he quickly outstripped him in talent and began grasping how to use magic and sheer charisma to bend the weave.
When Nijala found out, it took her a long time to be okay with it, but eased off when Rose promised that it was just a hobby and he'd stay in his stable masonry job.
Siblings
Nijala met a well-off merchant, Casimiro Aranov, when Rose was five. They were married a year and a half later, and only half a year after that, Rose's first half-sibling was born. Then Nijala and Casimiro just... dind't stop with the half-siblings, the small house ready to burst at the seams with four more siblings being born after the first. By the time they announced a sixth sibling, when Rose was just turning twenty (he is currently twenty-seven), he announced that he was moving out to give them more room for the new baby.
In descending order, his half-siblings are Casimir, 20; Nadja, (hard j) 19; Ivanka, 17; Jasha, (yasha) 15; Luka, 12; Lydia, 7; and Magda, 4, all born to Nijala and Casimiro. Although Alfie married another woman, Calianna Rodynia (rod-in-eh-ya), they haven't had any children. They instead work as travelling artists, although Alfie always makes sure to return to Baldur's Gate (and later Waterdeep when Rose moves there with Gale) to see his son.
Extras
Rose gets on well with both his step-parents, but calls them by their first names. He uses to play pranks on Casimiro when he and his mum first started dating to show his discontent, but that was before Casimiro asked then-six year old Rose his permission to marry his mum. Despite being young, he knew Casimiro made his mum happy, and he also liked being asked to make an Adult Decision. They had no problems after that.
When Gale and Rose have their first son Nikolaj (hard j), they opted to give him the middle name Alfred in Alfie's honour.
Rose loves his family deeply, feeling fiercly protective over all of them as the eldest sibling. He remembers a simpler time when it was just him and his mum alone, and as much as he misses her rapt attention, she still acts like he hung the stars in the sky, so he's happy enough to share her with his little brothers and sisters. Gale, as an only child, took a while to get used to being in such a busy household when they visit Baldur's Gate, and arguably, he still isn't used to it.
The Aranov's love him like family nonetheless, and he's happy to indulge the nine hundred questions fired at him any time they visit. Rose's dad and step-mum enjoy his company, too, and Gale, although he would never admit it, feels a lot more relaxed around Alfie and Calianna, simply because there isn't a gaggle of Rose's siblings hanging off him when they visit.

Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
Tumblr media
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin My rating: 3 of 5 stars I feel like the only reason I enjoyed this at all during this reread is that I had a much better understanding of what I was getting myself into. I watched the show before ever reading the books, and I'm almost positive I would be so confused if I didn't. There is a lot of information in this first book and many names and families we're expected to be able to keep straight. I may be an idiot, but there is no way I would've been able to keep every single Robert and Jon and Eddard straight. (seriously, why do so many characters have the same name??) I think it's a huge joke to call this book high fantasy. This is a medieval political fiction set in a made-up world, and then at the end, some dragons are thrown in for funsies. That's it. It is 800 pages of jockeying for power, and if you're into that, you'll be thoroughly entertained. Still, if you came here hoping to read a fantastic book about swords and sorcery and dragons, you would be sorely disappointed. GRRM does an excellent job of making characters who are not always likeable, but you can still relate to them or at least want to know what happens to them. Unfortunately, a lot of what made me invest energy into these characters were the actors who played them in the show. If Nikolaj wasn't as perfect as Jamie, I probably would not like him. Cersei in the book seems much less powerful than I expected her to be. Catelyn infuriates me because of how needlessly cruel she is to Jon. I liked watching Jon struggle with his privilege and learn to help others. I liked Tyrion and how he roasts everyone he comes into contact with. Ned was so stupid with his honor; he signed his death sentence because of this trait. The character I want to touch on the most is my girl Dany. She is my favorite character in the show, and I always thought the book led to her becoming a dragon herself. Reading this book made me feel so vindicated during her dream when she grows wings. I will scream if GRRM ever finishes this series and ends with Dany turning into a dragon. Unfortunately, Dany's chapters were some of the ones I found the most difficult to read. She's 13-14 through most of this book, yet every chapter of hers deals with her having violent sex with Drogo or mentioning her nipples. The amount of times Viserys pinches her nipple as a punishment is so bizarre. Dany's dragons breastfeed from Dany. When she steps into Drogo's pyre, her nipples are dripping milk. Like please stop, George. Also, the fact that she tries to have sex with Drogo when he is in a vegetative state is so BEYOND FUCKED UP. Every single one of her chapters had me cringing in disgust. It all felt incredibly unnecessary and extra as hell. I will say I love how ruthless Dany can be. Also, I cannot express how much I don't care about how long and heavy Hodor and Drogo's manhoods are. I don't care about them at all. Thank you, goodbye. And that's all, folks. View all my reviews

Caso tenham dificuldade, basta me contatar!

My idea for how to bring Doctor Doom (And the Fantastic Four I guess) into the MCU
Look, I’m as tired of the MCU as the next man, but if it means bringing my favorite Comic Book character of all time onto the Silver Screen then so be it. Also, before you ask, I want Dr. Doom to be played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
So, anyway, in this scenario, College friends Reed Richards and Ben Grimm are contracted by the government (possibly SHIELD) to work on a new Space Station used to monitor for Extra-Terrestrial threats. The project is headed by Dr. Storm and his children, Susan and Johnny. In this, Reed is a little brainiac who could run circles around Tony Stark, Ben Grimm is a down to earth astronaut who keeps Reed’s head on his shoulders, Johnny is a hot head and Superhero fanatic (his favorite is Captain America... he just speaks to Johnny) and Susan is the very tired straight-man of the family who drinks her coffee with rum mixed in.
Also on the station, working on another project, is an arrogant yet charming scientist named Victor Von Doom. Victor is there working on inter-dimensional warping technology for reasons he refuses to disclose.
Also on the station is a scientist named Harvey Elder who is #TotallyNotAVillain.
Against all odds, Reed, Ben, Johnny, and Susan all manage to befriend the aloof Victor. Victor opens up to them, revealing his emotional baggage at being made an orphan because of the Baron of Latveria, and Victor even reveals his skills as a magician, which he started to learn after seeing his mother dragged to hell by a demon (it’s Mephisto). They become such close friends that Johnny starts to jokingly refer to them as the Fantastic Five.
Also, there’s a slightly homoerotic rivalry going between Reed and Victor. That’s very important.
Anyway, things go to shit when a cosmic anomaly hits the station (which may or may not be the Phoenix Force, I haven’t decided). Things go wrong when Dr. Harvey Elder sabotages the station, causing Victor’s interdimensional portal to literally blow up in his face and cause Susan, Reed, Ben, and Johnny to be exposed to the full brunt of the anomaly.
Yeah, turns out Harvey was a crazy doomsday cultist who weants to be a superbeing and end the world. Oops.
Anyway, the four are left with superpowers and Victor is left brutally deformed by the explosion.
While the four are being studied and Reed is trying to find a cure, Victor and Harvey break out seperately. Harvey to use his new mutations to create an army of monsters to conquer the world. For Victor, it’s because his machine actually somewhat worked, and he glimpsed Mephisto’s realm. Now slightly mad from the incident and more determined, Victor now knows what he must do.
Things come to a head when Harvey and his new mutant army and the Four decided to use their powers for good and stop him. It’s pretty a pretty even match for a while, the four have raw power and Harvey has numbers, but Victor manages to tip the scales when he comes in clutch with his new suit of armor, sporting his new iconic Dr. Doom look.
Together, they manage to defeat Harvey, but things aren’t over.
Victor reveals his ultimate plans to his friends. That he plans to save the world by conquering it. That he will bring humanity to heel with his firm but gentle hand. He asks the Four to join him, to fight by his side in saving the world. To fight together as the Fantastic Five. He even claims he could cure them if they wanted it.
Obviously the four refuse, and Victor is sad, but he is steadfast in his chosen course. He leaves through a portal with the parting words “Though fate has placed us as enemies, I will always count you as my friends. I will fight you, but I will miss you. And... that year we spent on the station together was the happiest of my life.”
Victor leaves and the the team are hailed as the heroic Fantastic Four, and all of them can’t help but notice the space left by Victor.
The aftercredits scene features Victor leading a popular uprising in Latveria and killing the Baron who murdered Victor’s father. Victor greet his adoring people, introducing himself to the world as the benevolent King, Dr. Doom.
