A/n; so like I was gonna write Fyodor angst but Tumblr deleted a big long paragraph that I wrote so now I don't wanna write it anymore but I have to post something today so this is speedran. It was supposed to have Chuuya, Dazai, Nikolai, Fyodor, and sigma but I wanna play cod more than I wanna write so </3
Dazai Osamu ★
The way Dazai had been looking at you all day long was a tell-tale indicator that he was gonna try and pull something, even if the two of you were at the ADA. His eyes would trace over the shape of your body, whether you were sitting or standing, and every time he walked passed you, he'd place a hand on any part of you that he could reach. He just couldn't keep his thoughts work-related today for whatever reason.
"You look gorgeous as always, babe." He said, placing a hand on the small of your back while you made your way to the janitorial closet. Tanizaki had spilled a can of soda all over the floor after being nearly tackled by Naomi, and you were nice enough to offer to clean it up. "Yeah? Thanks, 'Samu. You know, I haven't seen you do much of that piled up paperwork on your desk, maybe you should get on top of that." You say, opening the door and flicking on the light. "But why get on top of my paperwork when I could get on top of you?" He smoothly responds. All you can do is roll your eyes and grab the mop bucket. "Because we're at work." The sternness in your voice doesn't shake him off just yet. "I suppose your right, but...just one kiss? Please? I've been thinking about you all day long." His voice was almost whiny, yet low at the same time.
You sighed and turned to him, feeling his arms immediately wrap around your waist and pull you closer to him. "Just one, darling, I promise..." He leaned in and let your lips meet one another for the first time since you arrived at the ada that morning but what seemed like the hundredth time since you woke up. He no hummed into the kiss and held the back of your head, pulling you in even closer than before. His other hand left your waist and brushed over your chest. "Mn-, you taste so good, sweetheart...maybe one more." You grinned and let him gently guide your body to lean against a wall, his leg moving in between yours with his hands on either side of you, pinning you in place. You reached up to cup his cheek and grab his shoulder, steadying yourself. "'Samu..." You whispered, wrapping the hair that frames his face around your finger. He moved to rub your hip with his hand and slide a finger under your waistband.
"We're gonna get caught, you know that, right?" You ask, catching your breath and gazing down at his lips. "That's fine, tanizaki can wait-" he whispers, but is cut off by the door opening and your name being called. "Y/n, did you get lost or somethin'-" his voice had some humor in it, but his face fell when he saw you pushed against the wall with Dazai practically on top of you. He grabs the mop and the bucket without any pinesol or floor cleaner and closes the door, mumbling on his way out. "I can just do it on my own.." you could hear him mutter before you pushed Dazai off of you gently. "See, I told you! God, we're gonna get in so much trouble if Tanizaki doesn't keep his mouth shut." You say nervously. "Don't worry, he will." Dazai gets the hint that you're not in the mood to continue and just rubs his neck. "Good... let's just go, if Kunikida gets on our asses then it is what it is I guess." You say, your voice filled with acceptance. He nodded in agreement and followed you out, and much to your surprise, no one had a word for you or Dazai. Everyone was engaged in conversations of there own while Tanizaki mopped the floor silently with a blank expression. You didn't really feel sorry that he saw you guys, but a twinge of guilt overcame you. Better him than anyone else though.
Sigma ★
Sigmas work wasn't going to do get done on its own, and much to your dismay he would have to leave your loving arms to complete it all day long. You both reside in a suite in the Aerial Casino not too far down the hallway from his office, and your bed was simply just not cutting it right now. You wanted to be in Sigmas arms, so that's exactly where you went. You knocked on his door and his voice beckoned you in, a small smile on his face when he realized it was you. "Hi, darling, do you need something?" You nodded and walked closer, sitting on the side of his desk. "Just you." You say, grabbing a strand of his hair and twirling it around your finger. He blushes and scooches closer to his desk and therefore you, rubbing his hand up your thigh and grabbing his pen again. "I don't want to say you're a distraction, but you definitely make it a little harder for me to work." He says, one of his arms snaking around your waist to trace circles with his thumb on your lower back.
You laugh a little. "Would you rather me leave?" You ask, letting go of his hair. "No, you can stay...im just so tired and you look so comfortable." He groans, turning and burying his face in your thighs sleepily. You run your fingers across his scalp and hum. "Did you not get much sleep last night?" You ask quietly and feel his hands grope at your skin through your pajama pants. He only groaned in response to your question,indicating a no. He stayed like that for a couple moments, just basking in your presence before turning his head to the side. "Your thighs are so soft...I love them so much." His hands trailed to the top of your pants, grasping at the waistband. "Wanna feel them in my hands." He murmured, pressing kisses to them through the fabric. You smiled at the sight.
"Wanna take 'em off?" You ask, tugging at the fabric. "Yeah.." he wastes no time pulling of your pants off, leaving you in your underwear. The pajamas fell to the ground quietly and sigma parted your legs to plant his kisses along your inner thighs. "Sigma.." you breathily said, feeling his tongue and teeth against your sensitive skin. You could feel him suck on them and leave hickeys in his wake, his hands kneading at your flesh while simultaneously holding them apart. Every so often, his eyes would flicker back up to you, his eyebrows furrowed and his pretty grey eyes covered with a sheen of yearning for you. He pulls away and rests his hand on the hem of your underwear. "These too? Please?" He asks, nearly begging. "Yeah, go ahead baby.." he eagerly slides his fingers under to pull them down, but a knock on the door interrupts him. He quickly jumps back and scrambles to get your pants for you. "H-hold on-!" He yells back nervously, trying to hold your pants out so you can stick your legs in the holes, but the door opens. "You're needed in the main- oh, gosh!" The employee turns away.
"I said to hold on!" He says back, his voice laced with annoyance. He finishes helping you and places a kiss on your cheek. "Excuse me, darling, I'll be back shortly. I have to go see what's so important." He guides you out of his way with his hand on your waist and leaves with the other employee. You sigh and frown, the flustered feeling in the pit of your tummy not going away with him. You make sure everything about your appearance is in order before walking out of his office and back to your suite, knowing that whatever ordeal he was managing could take a while. It's alright though, he'd be sure to make it up to you later, he'd never leave his lover high and dry like that for too long. It would be another night of little sleep for Sigma.

I have a question about rie. I know she has a lot of alternate names/aliases, but I’m not really sure on who uses what name, if that makes sense? Like, do specific people call her certain things? Oh! And does L have any cute nicknames for her?

I'll organise by the basic rule: the main reason she has so many aliases is to help blend in – depending on the country. It won't work everywhere, of course. So, country - names - about the name - nicknames - about the nicknames.
╾ JAPAN
please note: the kanji in brackets are ordered last name - first name, as is typical in Japanese names. So Rie is not 高村 but rather 理恵.
Rie Takamura (高村理恵). I picked this because Rie is a fairly common name for girls meaning "reason". As for Takamura, it's like most common Japanese surnames in that it's somewhat geographical. Specifically, it means "high up village."
Hina Suzuki (鈴木陽菜). I actually don't know the exact meaning, but I didn't pick it for that: Hina and Suzuki are incredibly common names (think John Smith). It has the anonymity of Jane Doe.
Nicknames: Riri (by me; maybe by Matsuda and/or Misa). Miss Rie-san (by L. two honorifics...). Rie Pie (by "Matty Beef Patty" and "Mello Jello," because they got cross at her and decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. She's soooo pissed off that it doesn't rhyme).
╾ USA, UK, CANADA, AUSTRALIA etc...
Rue Dixon. I'm not sure if I ought to add a middle name. Rue I picked simply because it sounded similar to Rie (I didn't pick her real name, or even that she was French, until later. That probably sounds weird, but my creative process is too I guess..) and – come on. The meaning is so cool. Later, I learned BB uses it as an alias, which I'm just going to play into MWAHAHA (sobs). As for Dixon, it's after Elizabeth née Dixon, mother of Mary Wollstonecraft, mother of Mary Shelley.
Nicknames: um, Rue... (by Naomi. The "um" is a permanent fixture/hj). This is her name throughout Another Note.
╾ FRANCE
Reinette Rose Descôteaux (real name. how dramatic are her parents (me)). I struggled picking this name. I speak English (unbelievably) and I've been studying Japanese for a long time, but I've never really touched French up until developing Rie. I just picked something that sounded nice and didn't have an objectionable meaning for her first name. I kind of stomped over the fact middle names are uncommon in France and patched it up with the fact some kids have, like, dual first names (I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm thinking of things like Marie-Belle). As for Descôteaux, HOPEFULLY, it means something to do with gardens.
Aurélie Rousseau. I don't have any plans to use this one in RieCanon so far – perhaps in proLogue: 1429. Same process as above with the first name. Rousseau came up in my sociology class along with a couple of other white dead guys, and I thought the name sounded nice and Rie-ish.
Nicknames: Reine-Rose (L. He pronounces it wrong, pretty much just to annoy her. "Rainy rose" instead of "rehn rose"). Rosey (by L, about twice a year, when he feels cutesy). Pétalette (by her parents. I'm still figuring out Rie's childhood).
╾ INTERNATIONAL
1429 (fourteen twenty-nine). This is a real alias Rie goes by, even though it's not a name, and it's her main title throughout my fan made prequel arc. I don't remember how exactly I picked the number, but I like it.
Nicknames: Cat (by L, strictly once. She calls him mouse for a good while).
╾ OTHER
Rie goes by "L" a lot too. It's an agency more than a person. I feel like I read that somewhere, but there's an equal chance I made it up... Anyway, she does most of the PR stuff, and takes over if L gets sick or if she knocks him out to get some rest.
I've recently decided (this is an edit to the original post) that Rie is half Korean. She was born in France, but her dad (Korean, her mother is French) wanted to give her a Korean name as well, so here it is: 문영지, or Mun Yeong-ji. I probably messed something up, but I liked the sound of Mun and it's a fairly common surname. Yeong means shadow/reflection/photograph, and Ji means intelligence. Also considering the nickname YeonYeon by her father but idk what that means in Korean so I'll have to make sure it isn't anything weird, haha.
I'm trying to figure out if she went to Wammy's, or if there was time for her to meet the kids between 1429 and LABB, or something else. If she went, she'd go by Q or maybe X. I think different kids left at different times, so different letters opened up at different times. It's the simplest explanation I can think of, though I must admit it still doesn't answer everything. What is that again? Occam's razor?

Compilation No. 1 for "WA SH" was released in 2020 and No. 20 was published in May 2023. Amid that line of production, "WeAll SmokeHere" also interspersed the production and publishing of four specialty videos between April and February 2023. There are 60 scenes within the 308 minutes and 53 seconds of action in our post's video. So the typical scene/clip/snippet lasts an average of a bit north of 5 minutes. More than three-quarters of the action is shared among three Mega-SF websites: Smoking-Models (U.K.), USA Smokers (Arizona, U.S.A.) and SmokingSweeties (Spain). There is some Britney Pink Angel mixed in as wall as Lindsey Tingles, Kissing Girls Smoking Girlz and the self-deactivated Mega-SF site from Australia whose name rhymes with Camden Flaps.

I am so, so sorry, but this one was a mess. The Gods ruin it, because they are, in fact, 21st century teenagers. The other thing that ruins it is a million points of view which chop the story up in a way that takes every exciting moment away, stretching it until you just do not care one bit. And Medusa? She is a minor character, to the point of being in the story for less than even half of it. Natalie Haynes can do better and has done better.
What Maisie Knew

Dear Lord... I think this was the most tedious and boring book I have read this year so far. If I was not listening to it on audio, I would have DNF-ed it halfway through. I was hoping for much, much more from a classic dealing with a child of a messy divorce and custody battle in times when divorce was still a dirty word. Sadly this is just a mix of awful people and a desperately naive kid in situations that are so repetitive I could have cried.

I cannot deny this whole series has issues, mainly it needed much, much more editing, and the info-dumps, so often taking a form of a stream of consciousness, can get tiring. And yet, this last book ties it together with a bow so well, I cannot help but applaud Naomi Novik for creating an original, interesting, and captivating version of the world. The finale left me positively breathless.

A very nice, quite comprehensive gallery of official portraits, photographs and prints of the famous Empress, that would make a perfect companion to a full-blown biography. Perhaps the one by Brigitte Hamann herself.
The Seed Keeper

Some parts of this book are extremely touching and well-written. Unfortunately, other parts bored me. I felt like the author needed to make the story tighter, and more focused. Much of what was happening seemed to only skim a surface of a situation, many of which could carry great importance within the story.
Off With Her Head: Three Thousand Years of Demonizing Women in Power

(Wo)Maaan this was a MESS. I don´t even know where to start.There is really no logic in how the narrative is arranged. The history part is only about 25%, 10% talk about women in other places than US and the overwhelming majority of information is about Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris and Nanci Pelosi. Essentially, if you have even a tiny interest in US politics, there is nothing new or surprising (though of course, it can still make you angry). The only thing this book says is that there are awful double standards and women in power have always been treated much more harshly and cruelly than men - something we all know, cannot dispute and it could have been a Tumblr post. But frankly, Mary Beard said the same thing with fewer words and greater impact in her Women & Power: A Manifesto.I feel kinda bad about rating this book so low, considering the topic, but this was just too basic and not well put together.
Nightingales: The Extraordinary Upbringing and Curious Life of Miss Florence Nightingale

The amount of research done for this book and the included details that stem from it is simply astonishing. That can be seen as both an advantage and a disadvantage of the book, depending on what you want and how much of it you want. If you read this only to familiarize yourself with the remarkable Florence Nightingale, you will be probably swamped by the wealth of information about her extended family (and even some ancestors) and the almost tedious narration of her life before the Crimean mission. However, if you like family sagas, delving deep into Victorian daily life and attitudes, you will have your fill with this book. The title is indeed truthful to the content. One also must mention that even though dense, the book is very readable and easy to navigate (at least once you get over all those ancestors).

Triangle: The Fire That Changed America
Author: David von Drehle

I had some problems following the opening chapters dealing with the hidden politics of New York in the early 1900s, and the frequent breaks in the narrative to introduce nearly everyone felt sometimes jarring, but all in all, this was a well-researched and sensitive tribute to those who lost their lives during this horrific event. It is also a loud call-out of greed and its favorite child, capitalism. What truly terrifies one is the fact, that things like this still happen and the underlying reasons are always the same.
The House is on Fire
Author: Rachel Beanland

This is a solid piece of historical fiction that uses the same style that made books like Salt to the Sea and All the Light We Cannot See so very readable: short chapters that keep changing points of view. I liked the fact that the whole book is set during just three days, showing how quickly and unexpectedly lives can completely change. I was also glad to learn about this tragic event - the historian in me is always, always interested in learning.

Not gonna lie, this was pretty great! Sure, the story of Dorothea is not really as engaging as the story of Ruth, but Dorothea´s chapters provide a welcome breathing space from the suspense and horror of Ruth´s. The longer you read the more difficult the book is to put down. Excellent gothic novel.

Sorry, I will only be making a masterlist for Death Note as it’s my current fixation. I haven’t written for Overwatch since 2018 so that’s out, and while I love Fullmetal Alchemist there doesn’t seem to be a huge interest in self-insert content so I never got enough requests. With Yu-Gi-Oh I ended up getting requests only a few months after I’d started taking them and by that time I already lost interest, so... :,)

Reread: From All False Doctrine by Alice Degan.
Total: nine novels (including one reread), one novella and one short story collection.
Cover thoughts: These are all effective covers (even Yours Cheerfully, which uses a shade of pink I detest). Of Absence, Darkness is my favourite.
Did not finish: The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix and The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.
Still reading: Love in the Blitz: The Greatest Lost Love Letters of the Second World War by Eileen Alexander.
Next up: Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore.

Death’s Lady trilogy by Rachel Neumeier: Portal world fantasy, set 16 years after The Year’s Midnight.
Of Absence, Darkness: When an enemy summons Tenai back to her own world, the spell also brings her friend Daniel and his daughter Jenna. I liked seeing the portal-fantasy-experience from the perspective of a middle-aged father! This story quietly simmers with tension until suddenly it boils over. 3½ ★
Of Shadows, a Light: Arguably the second half of Of Absence, Darkness, except Jenna becomes a POV character. I like that her adventures allow her to meet a greater variety of people, and give her a wider understanding of this world. This was very gripping, with the right sort of ending for this sort of story. I want to reread the whole trilogy now. 3½ ★

The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho: Fantasy novella.
Tet Sang is part of a group of bandits who run into trouble after a nun from the Order of the Pure Moon insists on joining them and uncovers the truth of their mission. This was definitely intriguing. Occasionally amusing. A well-constructed story. 3 ★

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah: Historical fiction set in Nazi-occupied France.
After a chapter and a half, I wasn’t sure about the writing style and was rather relieved when reviews gave justification for not reading further! Even if the ending is good, I didn’t feel like reading that many pages of so-so prose and melodrama just to get there.

Chaos on CatNet by Naomi Kritzer: YA science-fiction. Sequel to Catfishing on CatNet.
As a near-future story about social media apps and AIs, this was tense and really interesting! But there’s not room for a lot of depth to the relationships. It’s a successful story without that, but nevertheless, my personal preference is for more depth. 3 ★

The Book of Firsts by Karan K. Anders (aka Andrea K. Höst): A high school girl, a trio of beautiful boys and a series of secret lunchtime trysts.
While I love Höst’s fantasy, I was not planning on reading this. Read it on an impulse. Am still surprised how it made me care about the characters. This is, in spite of the setting and the sex, such a Höst story. She’s still writing about characters who are exceptionally intelligent, talented and attractive! It’s just that none of them have magic. 3½ ★

Fletchers End (1962) by D. E. Stevenson: Romantic fiction. Sequel to Bel Lamington.
Less focused and not quite as delightful as Bel Lamington, but I still liked it. It revolves around the newly-married Bel’s efforts to discover the history of Fletchers End, the house she and her husband have bought, and the romantic prospects of her friend Louise. 3 ★

Between Decisions by W. R. Gingell: Australian YA urban fantasy murder mystery. Set in Hobart. Eighth in The City Between series, set after Between Cases.
There’s a problem with some sirens and social media, and meanwhile the story builds, somewhat deceptively and very effectively, to a dramatic development. It could be a disappointing turn of events -- for the characters, it’s devastating -- but I was surprised by how satisfying it was to see the aftermath taken seriously. 3½ ★

Shadows of the Past by Sharon Shinn: Short story collection. A magic school, a haunted house, an alien soulmate, randomly appearing objects, phone calls from ghosts, a healer in hiding, and wintermoon wishes. The first three are murder mysteries. The next three are about dealing with bereavement. All but the first two include romance.
These are decent stories. Only one I didn’t really like (the third one). But my favourite was something I had already read -- “Wintermoon Wish”. It’s still lovely. 3 ★

You Have a Match by Emma Lord: YA, a bit like The Parent Trap for the Instagram generation.
After Abby’s DNA ancestry test reveals she has an older sister, she signs up for the same summer camp so they can get to know each other and try to find answers -- why was Savvy given up for adoption and kept a secret from her siblings? This is a compelling mystery, and also an entertaining and optimistic novel that keeps all the balls it’s juggling in the air. 3½ ★

The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix: Fantasy.
A fabulous title but the worldbuilding doesn’t strongly appeal to me. Based on the little I’ve read, and on my experiences with Nix’s other books, I suspect this would be a book I would like but not love. Unfinished.

Yours Cheerfully by A J Pearce: Historical, set in London in 1941. Sequel to Dear Mrs Bird.
The government has requested that magazines promote women’s war work, so Emmy writes a series of articles about a munitions factory and befriends a group of women who are trying to juggle work and motherhood. This isn’t a coming-of-age story like Dear Mrs Bird was -- Emmy’s learning about other women’s personal circumstances and workplace dilemmas. But these things are still compelling. 3½ ★
