when you finally finished your interview with emma chamberlin, you saw in the corner of your eye a man looking at you, smiling from ear to ear. you didn’t recognise him but by his looks you knew he was someone important. you walked up to him and smiled back, his cheeks were red and he struggled to hold your gaze now that you were in front of him.

"hi! first time here?" you asked, waving at him, "i’m y/n l/n." he smiled again and scratched his neck. "is it that obvious? and i know, i’m kinda your biggest fan, daniel ricciardo it’s nice meeting you." he shook the hand you were giving him and gave it a gentle squeeze, you didn’t fail to notice how big his hand was and how it engulfed yours. you laughed and put your hand against your heart. "oh really? what is your favorite work of mine?" you asked him, genuinely curious. you didn’t know why but you were drawn to his energy. he looked up and thought for a second before answering. "there is too many, but i really liked you in the marauders, couldn’t think of a better actress to play dorcas." you laughed and thanked him. "to be honest, it’s not my best work." he looked at you like you just said the most out of pocket thing in the world. "excuse you? you were amazing! you perfectly portrayed dorcas and the way you showcase emotions just with your eyes is just incredible! seriously you’re one of the best actresses out there and i-…" his eyes were full of sparkles, like a kid talking about his favorite football team, he stopped himself when he saw you look at him with a huge smile. his cheeks were even redder and he couldn’t look at you anymore. "i talk to much, right? i’m so sorry, i do that a lot." you brushed him off and patted his shoulder. "daniel, you’re adorable." he smiled fondly but before he could speak again, your agent came to you. "we have to go y/n, donatella is waiting for you." you nodded and waved at daniel. "it was great meeting you daniel, i hope to see you again soon!" he watched you leave and couldn’t wipe off the smile on his face, he knew how good looking you were but seeing you and talking to you in real life was different. from that small interaction only, daniel knew how much he was infatuated with you.

death note headcanons

because i know my death note mutuals aren’t getting what they wanted from me

light

-can crack his elbows the way one would crack their knuckles

-probably had to do a musical elective in his first year of middle school and chose guitar cause he thought it would be easy but it wasn’t.

-the type of song he really enjoys is very specific. going to hell yet i tried so so hard to please god song. i missed my only chance song. why wasn’t i like the other kids song. thrones playlist. i could elaborate but i won’t

-as for sexuality, i see him as not wanting to put a label on whatever he is in theory but in practice being some type of bispec (probably berriromantic) for romantic attraction and then somewhere on the asexual spectrum for sexual attraction.

-as for gender i see him as agender whose not really in labeling himself as anything when it comes to sexuality and gender.

-agender but probably 100% fine with being super male presenting. he just wants to keep out of gender as a convo and that’s great. good for him

-no!!!!! i refuse to say this mf is aromantic (because it’s not accurate and it’d be an insult to aromantic people to say he’s aro)!!!!!

-just because he manipulated misa and kiyomi into doing his bidding and didn’t love them doesn’t immediately make him aro. i’m sure he could have found someone if he wanted to, and he could have loved them if he was with them to love them, but he wasn’t with them to love them he was with them to use them.

Lawlight ffnet fic recs

This is probably going to be the main post for ffnet fic recs. There's only so much I can do in 30 minutes, so they're not exactly organized by categories. Will add more later, probably.

Check the summary and notes. Read the warnings and authors notes for each fic. I'm not responsible for what you end up reading, rating wise.

Please note, fics that are also on ao3 aren't here.

Of Music

Summary: Light is at the theatre, escaping from his life as he does every performance. Fate hands him her calling card in the way of a stranger sitting across the room. Can Light maintain his life when this one man manages to slip into it like he belongs there? AU

Notes: At the top of this list is my very favorite and probably the best Death Note fic of all time. Have you read Of Music? No? Then go read it right now.

Coexistence is Boredom

Summary: A new deathnote. A new plan for world sanctity. And an entirely misled Catholic clergy. Raito and L take their respective places on the sides of their own justice. A final battle waged in the Garden of Eden.

Notes: Another one of my favorites, this fic is a post-Yotsuba arc AU.

Redeemer

Author's note/summary: The story takes place after Death Note ends, although the main characters have not died. Here the Yellowbox Warehouse is essentially the pinnacle of L's 6-year long offensive against Kira, who believes L to be dead, when he really isn't. L faked his death, and proceeded with the case behind the cover of his three top heirs, Mello, Matt and Near. Kira himself doesn't succumb to his defeat, but is instead rescued at the last moment by his nemesis lover who decides that a more apropos end to the God of the New World is not death--but redemption, in the form of a new case and a 5th so-called Kira, that L and Light must bring down together… or risk losing everything. Yes, there is actually a plot LOL Buuuut, this puppy has yaoi and pairing's aplenty. LxLight and MelloxMatt are technically the mains, but when you cut straight down to it, this is a story about Light and Mello and how they go from hate to need, from enemies to lovers, and maybe even something more…

Notes: This fic... isn't on ffnet. Nor on ao3. This fic is on adultffnet. Mind the tags, the pairings, and allll the warnings. This fic isn't for everyone. I'd recommend it as 21+ age group. It still has amazing plot, Light's psychological and character analysis and development as L attempts to make Light give up being Kira for him. I've warned you. If you still read it, then it's on you. There's also a few sequels with B, but the author has taken them down.

Redivivus

Summary: The most important thing Ryuk learned watching Light Yagami was how to follow the rules to the letter and still break them.

Notes: Another of my favorites. This fic has Ryuk enabling Light to time travel, kid!Light shenanigans, Light trolling L, L trolling Light, and pre-lawlight dynamics (since Light is a pre-teen while L is a teen).

Disorder

Summary: L's ordinary day is interrupted by a not-so-ordinary disappearance that he's determined to solve. And when it reappears right under his nose? Obviously a personal attack on his detective abilities-time for mystery, revenge and maybe even a little romance!

Notes: Light runs away, L takes the case. Anything more would be spoilers. This author has a lot of other amazing fics, so check those out as well!

Memento Mori

Summary: Light is brutally assaulted and decides to end it all –and what better way then to admit he's Kira and let his nemesis do it for him? Of course, things with L can never be so simple. L/Light.

Note: Another amazing fic by the author of Primitive Liars. The summary is accurate.

Between Black and White

Summary: When L captures Light, he finds himself unwilling to relinquish his kindred spirit to the police, and instead has other plans to make Kira atone for his crimes. But the saga of Shinigami, genius intellect and old memories - BB - has only just begun.

Note: L is a selfish, manipulative bastard. L won and wanted Light to stay. Light's willingness to stay is another matter entirely, nice to have but not necessary.

Spira Mirabilis

Summary: Sayu, worried about her brother, decides to sneak into his room to steal his diary, triggering the explosion that causes her death and Light’s serious injury. With a scar and no memories of the Death Note, how will Yagami Light’s life unfold?

Note: I re-read this fic everytime I'm on a ffnet fic read binge. The characterization is amazing. Light is a human, L is a human, Sayu's death has consequences on Light's psyche and general relationship with the Yagami family. L's relationship with Light is so soft and healing and tender.

Ragnarok

Summary: A serial killer emerges in Japan, basing his murders on Norse Mythology. NPA star-detective Light Yagami and the World's Greatest Detective L are both targets, and the case may lead to the end of the world for both of them.

Notes: The summary is very accurate. I love the pining that goes in here. This AU is very well thought out, with canon characters taking a whole new direction due to the lack of the Kira case.

Etched

Summary: It was a brief fling that lasted much longer than it was supposed to. One a student and part-time forensic artist, the other the greatest detective in the world. When it ended, both were sure they'd never meet again. But fate had other plans.

Notes: Two very safe, lonely men fall in love with each other. They both have secrets. Their secrets and lack of trust does not make up for their love for each other. Alas, the fic stops at an interesting time. But the relationship development is still to read for.

Better than the rest

Tale of Two Death Notes

Summary: The Death Note was destined to bring them together, the rest was up to them.

Notes: Light as a scientist/researcher type working on the death note, L as the detective whose case has brought him to the mystery of the death note.

I Won't Say

Summary: Having found out L's name, Light can finally have everything he wants: the world and, more importantly, L. Convincing L, however, turns out to be more difficult than killing him, especially with a house full of orphans to stir the soup. Christmas fluff balanced by a power struggle between the dynamic duo.

Notes: Probably the best Christmas themes lawlight fic. It's soft, tender, understanding, there's communication, trust building, family bonding, and a happy ending

Summary: Young Light's parents are murdered and he's sent to Wammy's. For a while, he's thrilled- it's challenging AND he's meeting people like A and C! …And L. Jerk. Then B shows up, and, well… stuff goes bad. Fast. With havoc as only B can wreak.

Notes: Light is a pathological liar. L is into that.

Irrefutable Connection

Summary: L lays open his life, soul and existance to Light and Light does the same for L, writing the last of his secrets upon L's skin. Light and L forge an unbreakable agreement to never betray each other; aiding and influencing one another without fear.

Notes: Lawlight confess their identities, there's smut and plotting involved, a 'L joins Kira' fic, I guess.

Desideratum

Summary: L didn't have a real name and he finds his immunity to the Death Note tragic. Light joins him on his journey of self discovery when Interpol joins the task force in finding Kira. The battle of the wits between detective and suspect isn't over.

Notes: None. I don't recall enough about this fic other than that it was good.

Infection

Summary: A virus rampaged Europe and two top detectives find themselves stuck amongst the aftermath. Suspicions are raised and concluded, emotions are tested. Whoever said death was supposed to be easy?

Notes: Lawlight, with zombie virus around. I don't recall enough about this fic other than that it was good.

Hurt, Angst, Tragedy. Comfort? What's that? Is it tasty?

The Prince

Summary: He is not a saint. He is not God. Even his sense of justice is skewed. After all, how can Kira rationalize his use of the Death Note when he himself is nothing but a common criminal? A member of the yakuza?

Notes: Read the authors warnings at the start of this fic. Another fic I'd say is 21+, this fic has Light kidnapped and forced to be a yakuza member. Alll the warnings apply. Amazing plot, character growth makes sense, I want to wrap Light in a blanket burrito and never let go.

Asylum

Summary: Upon recovering his memories of Kira, Raito has a terrible choice to make. What he does choose throws him into a realm of insanity and suddenly it's the God of the New World that needs the rescuing--and L is the only one who can help.

Notes: Another fic that I'd recommend is 21+. Has a sequel 'Silence'. The fic name and summary is accurate, with all the warnings that implies.

True Elision

Summary: Raito dies and becomes nothing. But the Shinigami need his soul,so they give him a second chance.They recreate his spirit and send him to a hellish trial where he must face his living nightmares.Intense romance comes late in fic

Notes: Lots of trigger warnings. You've been warned. Only hurt, no comfort for Light. Takes place post canon. Romance comes in veryyyy late in the game. I love how, in that one riddle scene, it shows that Light is very much human and not Shinigami material. Has a happy ending, if you can last till then.

A Cure for Love

Summary: Light and L fall in love during the Yotsuba arc and Light's master plan is derailed when an assassin steals the Death Note. The threat of Kira is dwarfed when Kira's powers seem to have fallen into the hands of a terrorist organization known as Astraea and Light and L are united to find the culprit, but for how long…

Notes: Every character in this fic wishes Light never gets back his Kira memories, including Light himself. Alas, he does. And every character suffers for it, including Light himself. Check the warnings before reading. Has a bittersweet ending.

Poison Apple

Summary: Death Note with a Disney spin. Maybe their poison drenched love, this twisted fairytale of most wicked beauty, is all that matters, even when L is dragged back from his grave and faced with his poisoned apple again.

Notes: No lawlight rec list including ffnet fics is complete without this fic. So here it is. Warnings apply.

Crack & Crack Taken Seriously (yes, both are different)

Death Note Dating Gameshow

Summary: Being the soon to be God of the new world can be a rewarding if lonely job. But do not fear obsessive Kira-worshippers, for Sakura Tv is here to ensure that the savior finds that special somebody.

Notes: The intro fic to death note lawlight crack fics. One of the best ever. Don't take it seriously.

Adaptation

Summary: Even Light’s plans don’t take spontaneously changing gender into account. Fortunately, he can adapt.

Notes: Light changes gender and that's all it takes to bring that UST to surface.

A Modest Proposal

Summary: Light, pathetically poor college student that he is, is in dire need of cash. The renowned detective and more importantly, multi billionaire L can help this wretched situation: and subsequently, the business negotiations begin.

Notes: Light is broke. Light studies economics. Light has a plan. A married couple have lower taxes. Now he only needs to convince L.

Discordant Harmony

Summary: What happens when new artist Yagami Raito manages to capture the attention of socially inept, anonymous artist L Lawliet? Hilarity, of course. Matchmakers, troublesome sisters, and crazy lawyers pretending to be drag queens? What is this world coming to?

Notes: THE Death Note Lawlight crack fic. This fic, to me, is the best of the best and defines the lawlight crack fic genre. They don't make fics like this anymore. Which, in a way, is good. One is enough. Plus, I reallyy don't know how any crack fic can top this one.

The End is Near

Summary: A horrible day gets a bit bet - er, worse - when Mello discovers that a certain albino boy has disa-Neared. Matt, Mello, L, and Light set out to find him, come hell, high water, or chocolate shortages. Well, maybe not those.

Notes: The summary is pretty accurate. Its a crack fic, so keep your brains and logic outside the door when you read it.

12 Sides Of L

Summary: After a freak accident, the team and Raito find themselves in a place no human should ever have been before. In the mind of the greatest detective, L.

Notes: I've never read a fic with this plot before. A unique AU, delves into L's mind, literally. Crack taken seriously.

Night and Day

Summary: The NPA are assisting mysterious detective L with a new case. Raito has to work with an unusual partner…

give me a high school au for your favorite irish mythological characters. gogogo

Let's go. (Because we're saying "high school", I'm assuming "American High School" and not the Irish secondary school system.)

(1) Lugh is That Kid who gets acceptance letters from every single Ivy League university because he's been in, like, 10 different extracurricular activities since Junior High. He is absolutely insufferable about this. He is like the unholy genderbent combination of Sharpay Evans, Regina George, and Heather Chandler and, to make it worse, he IS good at what he does. Even if a couple of rivals also had "accidents" happen to them that allowed Lugh to slip in....

Edit: It is also vital to understand that Lugh WOULD be that highschooler who is a little *too* into Death Note and believes Light Did Nothing Wrong.

(2) Bres is a theatre kid, he and Lugh regularly fight over roles (usually with Lugh winning, which is killing Bres especially since Bres is rapidly approaching graduation and Lugh is still a Junior). This has sometimes led to literal fights and detentions being handed out, which both were able to slip out of. Has the reputation for being a stuck up bitch, which is partially earned, partially because he never attends parties or bothers to socialize, even with his half-brothers. He's not STUPID but he never earns As, mainly because he doesn't want to put in the effort/might have some type of executive function issues, which his father is absolutely never going to get treated because it's easier to write him off as lazy. The only person who really seems to be able to get to him is...

(3) Sreng mac Sengainn, captain of the (American) football team a town over who has a longstanding rivalry going back generations with them. Before, Bres + Lugh's high school had an unparalleled winning streak, especially thanks to Bres' brother, Ogma, but since Sreng took over as captain, they've been getting wins here and there, enough to make them worried. (It goes without saying that Bres + Lugh are also in a very preppy, gentrified high school setting, either an outright private high school or one that might as well be thanks to zoning, while Sreng's is more egalitarian, so there's an added sense of horror at how *those people* are beating them.) He and Bres started dating when they were both Juniors, to the horror of everyone from both high schools, and they're going strong. He goes to Bres' shows, Bres goes to his games and cheers on for the other side, they considered going to each other's respective proms together but decided to blow it off and do something else.

(4) People are never sure whether Manannán dropped out or not -- he shows up about three times a year, attends class, and then usually leaves by the end of lunch break, usually with a surfboard under his hand. Several hours later, it's revealed that he pulled a massive, elaborate prank. How did he do it, when he was, by all accounts, sitting at his desk, doing math homework? Who knows. Likewise for why he hasn't been expelled yet, except for that it looks bad for the school's reputation.

(5) ....the Dagda.....would be responsible for at LEAST one teenage pregnancy. It's unfortunate, but. We know this. We *know* this.

Under the City Streets (part 2)

a direct narrative follow-up to this: Bad fanfic ideas theatre: Submas does Over the Garden Wall

UtCS's B Plot/What Emmet doesn't realize is happening at the same time as his adventure:

(Note: the actual PLA plot itself has little bearing on this AU. There is no player character, because the Great Yeeting of Hisui happens before Arceus would have called upon the protagonist. So that stuff simply doesn’t happen.)

As stated before, Laventon, Akari and Rei are also wrapped up in this delightful mess. Although in their case, they didn't need a near death experience to get to the Unknown, they just had to get eaten by a distortion while out doing research on the weird barrier separating Jubilife from the rest of Hisui.

Not that Laventon minds. He is about to vibrate into another dimension from excitement (and a fair bit of terror) because he's never experienced a space-time distortion quite like this! To be transported from Hisui, instead of things transported to Hisui! And what a curious place to find themselves in!

Akari and Rei on the other hand are less enthusiastic about this Unknown crap. They didn’t sign up for this!

As if to prove their intuition right, they get turned around after their first Unknown scouting trip and are accidentally separated from Laventon.

Akari and Rei wind up wandering through the forest when they hear wood getting chopped. They get into an argument about what to do next when the Woodsman/Ingo finds them instead. He’s still on high alert after sending Emmet off the bridge and talking with the Beast, but he relaxes a little when he sees he’s dealing with two lost kids. The Woodsman warns them the forest is dangerous but he’s willing to let them stay at his camp for the night to lead them to civilization in the morning. The two kids are relieved and take him up on his offer.

They arrive in a humble campsite, which is a tent, a firepit, and a collection of ceramic jars next to an herb roller stained with black oil. The Woodsman tells the two they’ll have to gather their own food and water as he’s low on supplies and has work he needs to do. They watch as he takes his gathered Edelwood and breaks them into smaller pieces, methodically grinding them in the hand roller. They shrug and split, Akari fetching water and Rei getting berries and mushrooms.

It’s while Rei is trying to reach a berry that he catches something’s attention. A twig snaps and Rei thinks it’s Akari. But when he turns around to ask if she’s done already, he finds a giant oily mutant Garchomp with freaky eyes staring down at him.

Akari is filling the last of her waterskins when Rei screams. Next thing she knows, Rei is charging past her, telling her to run. Then she sees why and starts running too. They run right back to the Woodsman’s camp. Before they get there, Akari tries throwing a pokeball at it, but the dragon Pokémon smacks the ball aside, sending it flying, and lodging it in a tree.

The Woodsman then confronts them demanding to know what the hell they're doing. Then the Garchomp shows up. The Woodsman tries to protect the kids, raising his axe. But that’s when Akari’s Pokeball gets dislodged from the tree it’s stuck in and knocks the Woodsman’s hat off. This distracts him long enough for the Garchomp to smack him away, knocking him unconscious.

(“Akari, we just got an entire man killed!!”)

Realizing they’re on their own, Akari and Rei lead the Garchomp away from the Woodsman’s unconscious body. Unfortunately, they run right through the camp, destroying the Woodsman’s stuff, particularly the ceramic jars, which spill black oil everywhere.

The kids somehow trick the Garchomp into falling off a cliff (Rei discovers a narrow ledge/branch and the two make a show of jumping down, tricking the Garchomp into charging headlong off the cliff?). When it doesnt come back up, the kids figure they got rid of it and congratulate each other.

But when they get back to the Woodsman's camp, they hear him cry out in horror. They discover him freaking out over the smashed jars and realize that this is their fault. They apologize but the Woodsman tells them it's not their fault (“Not, I’m pretty sure this is absolutely our fault.” “Rei! Shut up!”). The Woodsman informs them he can’t help guide them anymore, they’ll have to make it out on their own. He at least points them in the right direction to go as he gets back to work on whatever it is he does.

The two leave with heavy hearts but they need to find a way back to their Professor.

Meanwhile… the Garchomp is not dead. In fact, it just found a new target…

After eating a few healing berries provided by Volo, Emmet feels well enough the next morning to head back out. Volo is now his reluctant travel buddy because Emmet is too stubborn to go back home.

Emmet asks Volo what he knows about his brother but Volo has nothing nice to say, just starts ranting. Emmet decides he doesn’t care about Volo’s opinion anymore and goes to look for food instead. Volo fails to notice him slipping away.

Emmet manages to find some trees with a few berries and begins picking them. Then something catches his attention and he cheerfully greets it, offering it some of his berries.

Volo is still ranting when Emmet’s screaming makes him realize he’s been ditched. He flies to Emmet and discovers him with a Gible chomping on his arm. The left cuff of his greatcoat is torn off and the Gible happily swallows it. Emmet’s never encountered a Gible before so he’s both fascinated and upset ("First, my hat and now my coat??"). Volo demands to know wtf Emmet is doing, goofing around with a baby pokemon. But Emmet refutes this and says he was getting more berries when this thing decided to nosh on him. The Gible kinda just gurgles at them. Volo tells Emmet it’s only a baby and that it bit him because it's hungry.

Emmet finds this adorable and offers it more food, but Volo is worried. If there’s an infant Gible running around, then that means there’s an evolved parent somewhere…

That’s when the freaky Garchomp shows up to fuck up Emmet’s day.

Everybody screams.

Even the Gible screams, leaping into Emmet’s arms in terror. This sets off the Garchomp and immediately goes for the human. Emmet grabs the Gible and nopes the fuck out, Volo following close behind and the Garchomp hot on their heels.

The Garchomp winds up giving Emmet a lot of injuries and tries to eat his clothes, biting off the bottom half of his greatcoat ("GODDAMMIT.").

Volo comes up with a plan, but it’s one he haaaaates. Funnier if this is something he’s done before and can get away with because he knows he's unkillable. Equipped with a berry that dragon types are allergic to, Volo flies straight into the Garchomp’s mouth. Gets vored. Then barfed back out, much to his horror and disgust.

But it works.

The Garchomp hacks out a black turtle shell, which turns it back to normal.

…Which is still an alpha Garchomp.

Emmet’s pretty surprised by the size and glowing red eyes. Before the Garchomp tries to eat Emmet, the Gible leaps between them and gurgles to its parent. The Garchomp gives Emmet a considering look before snorting in his face and backing off.

Emmet watches as the Gible and Garchomp head back into the forest and breathes a sigh of relief.

Curious, he picks up the turtle, which pops out of its shell, revealing itself to still be alive. Emmet’s reaction to black turtle: Ewwwww! Tosses it into the brush like a grossed out child. That’s no Pokémon and he doesn’t want to find out what it is.

He checks on Volo and finds he’s still dripping, shaken but he should be fine. Emmet picks Volo up and lets him sit on his shoulder. Volo doesn’t know what to make of this so he gets snarky but Emmet disregards that.

He has Ingo to think about after all.

Favourite DNTM scene has gotta be mortals and fools i think. stalemate and twta close seconds... just !!! the way misa is so sure of herself and kira's love and how sure she is of it being reciprocated... and rem's pleading to try and convince misa love is nothing but bad. and ughhh ALL WHILE??? ALL WHILE SHE HERSELF FALLS FOR MISA??? OBSESSED.

i mean i could go on abt everything but i haven't watched the musical in full, so really all i know is the songs and im this obsessed yikes

MY AU!!! THANK YOU FOR ASKING!! TYTYTYTYSMMM

SO BASICALLY It's this au, where L, light and misa are best friends in their freshman year. misa is the most popular girl in school, she's basically a princess and everyone worships her. Light, her boyfriend, is the most popular guy in school as well the smartest. everyone wants to be his friend, or go out with him, or be him. as for him being the smartest, it's kinda true. he has this academic rival, l lawliet. they tie in everything. they have this very heated competition to who is the best at everything. all the other students think they despise each other, but that's actually far from the truth. they're best friends!! they have been since they five actually. they just both let their egos get the best of them. misa is just as part of the group as the other two btw!!!

so, the three are cast as the leads every year in the musical. they have been every year, this was how it worked, no one else seemed to have a problem with it either, so it went unchanged. misa and light were usually the romantic leads, and l would be the other male lead, like for example 7th grade, they were light/jack, misa/kath and l/davey in newsies! anyway, this year however, they find out, (to the boys horror) l and Light were cast as the romantic leads this time. anyway, this leads to painful revelations, healthy communication, unhealthy secrets and suppression and melodrama!!!

agjjddjk that's the main summary of it least. the fic will progress over the course of the year, with occasional flashback chapters bc their backstory in this au is probably my favourite part. there are many things still in development rn, like what to name the fic, and what their school musical should be, anyway yeah!! chapter 1 should be out soon, it's the first day of school :) yeah, tysm for listening!!! and asking ^_^

A random headcanon: Augie being an artist is an absolute big brain move. He's the kind of guy that would be sketching sceneries when there is a moment to rest. Also in his sketchbook (which is forbidden to be looked into) has sketches where he often draw his friends, trying to get every detail perfect. (Sorta Unrelated note: He and Tuan (my oc) respect each other's works because of the effort put into it despite the medium differences). And Im just thinking, what if I give him an inferiority complex where one of his worst fears is his friends finding out that he needs them more than they need him. General Opinion over said character: This guy is so goofy it's unreal like look at him. I literally can't stand him being the Fred-Type bc I know he's not like him. Why compare a jock to a theatre kid?

Augie Doggie (I'll go with my version I held for at least 5 years)

Sexuality Headcanon: I see him in the asexual umbrella, even as a pre-teen, he's not really into romance that much.

Gender Headcanon: I see him as trans. It just makes sense to me

Summary: (Post-game canon) The Conductor and DJ Grooves agree to finally work on a movie together. They come up with 'Moulin Rouge', a musical drama filled with romance. Over time the two directors grow closer and discover that maybe they don't hate each other as much.

"They're finally all asleep," Roxie sighed, leaning in the doorway of the front room.

"I could've helped," Conductor pointed out with a shrug.

Grooves glanced over at his friend, a strange fluttery feeling catching in his chest.

"I can deal with my kids. Besides-" Roxie raised a hand, a few old tapes in it. "-you wouldn't have let me bring these down if I'd let you upstairs."

"No."

"Grooves, wanna see Conductor when he was at his theatre club as a kid?" Roxie asked with a smirk.

"Well, I'll admit, I'm kinda curious," Grooves said.

Conductor shot him a quick glare before looking back at Roxie.

"Fine, put it on," Conductor conceded, lying down more on the sofa and resting his head on Grooves' chest.

"Connie, don't be embarrassed," Grooves whispered, holding onto his hand.

"I was a two-bit talent back then," Conductor said, squeezing Grooves' flipper tighter.

"Shut up Dad. They were some of your best bits of acting. Better than what you put in your movies," Roxie argued, turning round to face Grooves.

"You've got a choice of three: Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, or something that's just got a drawing of a star. Pick your poison."

Conductor dashed across the room, snatching the third tape out of her hand and pocketing it into his dark coat.

"Where did you get that?" Conductor asked, hand shaking at his side as it clenched into a fist.

"Emily mailed it to me after Mum's death. She said to save it for when you had a friend over to share it with," Roxie explained, brow furrowed.

"Pecking Emily," Conductor swore, rushing out the room.

The front door slammed and Grooves got to his feet and watched as the owl charged back to the train outside.

"I don't even know what's on that tape. Emily gave specific instructions for Dad to see it with someone he considered a friend," Roxie murmured.

"Who's Emily?"

"One of Mum and Dad's old theatre club friends."

"I'm going to go check on him," Grooves decided.

"He probably won't be okay. Just… try to help him."

"Always."

The Bleach Live Action is a Reason to Live

I didn’t do any writing last night, because we rewatched the Bleach live action movie instead. We saw this movie for the first time during Lockdown Summer #1, after watching the FMA live action. Basically, it went “wow, that was the worst movie I’ve ever seen, I wanna watch another one.�� At the time, my co-blogger had already pandemic read/reread the Bleach manga, but I didn’t yet know that (or this blog) was something I was going to choose to be doing with my life. Suffice to say, the context of watching this film last night was very different than the first time!

We’ve now seen many live action anime adaptations, and many anime stage plays (musicals, 2.5Ds, whatever a “Naruto Live Spectacle” is). With this broader appreciation of the genre, and a deeper and refreshed understanding of Bleach, this movie is still in my Top 5 Live Action Adaptations!* It slaps, this Ichigo is my favorite live action Ichigo, and Renji literally made me drop my salad bowl because he and Byakuya are so funny in this movie. Love it, no notes. * I think this Top 5 goes: 1. the Rurouni Kenshin movies, 2. Death Note III, 3. Kids on the Slope, 4. Bleach, 5. ???????

The Bleach live action has big “It’s a Summer Movie!” energy/style, so if you liked the Bleach live action, you should watch that one. If you didn’t like this movie but thought it might have potential, you should watch that one. If you would have preferred this movie be about Rukia and Renji making a student project film, you should watch that movie. (No, but you actually should. It’s genuinely wonderful.)

Anyway, the Bleach live action also features Ichigo and Ishida conversing a very normal distance apart from each other:

As well as Renji, fresh from his stint on Soul Society’s Next Top Model and having taken Tyra’s advice about “ugly pretty” and angles to heart:

According to my co-blogger, this guy is best-known for playing female roles in kabuki theatre, which precipitates here in An Interpretation of Renji. But also I would definitely read the AU where Renji joins the Hanbantai Players and becomes best-known for playing female roles in kabuki theatre.

Miyavi’s Byakuya pairs perfectly with Abarai “Strike a Pose” Renji, also offering An Interpretation of Byakuya’s hair, among other things:

Granted, the best thing about these two isn’t in this movie, but in the underground sequel, titled Kate, where Byakuya discovers that he enjoys roleplaying as Yakuza/Finance Renji’s live-in boyfriend:

You see, in the Bleach live action, Byakuya and Renji have the patience to spend an entire training montage in the Living World after having encountered Ichigo and Rukia for the first (or second, in Renji’s case) time, just like... hanging out? I guess?

My best explanation for this is that the Kuchiki have a summer penthouse in the Greater Tokyo Area, and Byakuya figures that while they’re there to execute Rukia and Ichigo, they might as well turn down the sheets, let some air in, etc.

So while Ichigo and Rukia are involved in their second or third training montage of the film, Byakuya and Renji go off to do penthouse things. There, nurtured by the unexpected inspiration of the relative freedom of the Living World and a vast expanse of spare time while they wait for the clock to run out on the training montage, their roleplay relationship begins.

The Bleach live action also took its credits animation cues from the cinematic experience that is 2Fast 2Furious, which of course is a timeless and always welcome aesthetic nod. You can’t watch this film and be left wanting. It is perfect.

AoT characters staging Romeo&Juliet

basically a school AU where AoT characters (both Paradisians and Marleyans) are staging R&J, who would play whose part and stuff like that

Imma tell right away that I'm not a theatre kid so I've no clue how all of this works exactly so just bear with me if i write something out of the left field

fyi I'm going to list the R&J characters in the same order as in the original

Cast

Prince Escalus - Zeke

the troop just needed someone adult to play this part and decided to go with Eren's big brother

for someone who appears only three times during the entire play, is way too invested into this - Zeke doesn't want to let his little brother down

speaks with a strange (and mildly offensive) accent

Count Paris - Marlowe

everyone wanted Jean to play the character but he refused since being rejected by a love interest seemed all too familiar to him

Hitch suggested that Marlowe should play the part because she wanted to see his serious ass showing some emotion

it's really hard for him to get into character (even if it's a simple one) so he stays in character throughout the whole play

can't kiss Juliet on the lips so only gives her a peck on the cheek

feels a relief everytime his character dies

Romeo - Marco

initially Jean was aiming at this role (because of course he would)

but then he saw the sheer amount of lines he's supposed to memorize and backed out

Marco's interpretation of Romeo is adorable rather then passionate

tbh Marco doesn't give off 100% performance - he just does exactly what he's asked to

in the scene when Romeo slays Tybalt, doesn't seem angry enough and just runs towards Tybalt in anime style before gently pushing him

Mercutio - Eren

wants this role because Mercutio seems like a free spirit

genuienly tries to remember his lines but failes miserably so someone always has to help him out

completely forgets the Queen Mab speech but stays in the character and rants about some random stuff

funny thing is... the audience actually buys it

draws out his death agony trying to make it as dramatic as possible

Benvolio - Armin

memorized the script in its entirety - potentially can play any role

was chosen for the role of Benvolio because he is the only one capable of calming Eren down

often helps others when they forget their lines (mostly Eren)

needs to break up the actual fights between Mercutio and Tybalt

Tybalt - Porco

was glad to get the role because it doesn't have a lot of lines and he gets to show off his physique

doesn't need to get into the character

Porco is already aggressive enough

whenever there's a fight scene, Porco improvises, throws out his sham sword and beats the shit out of his opponents

is convinced that Romeo wasn't actually strong enough to kill Tybalt

Friar Laurence - Connie (Reiner as an understudy)

initially this role was suggested to Bertholdt but he declined because of his stage fright

Connie wanted to be on the stage but didn't want to memorize the lines so the role of Friar Laurence seemed perfect - Connie was carrying around a book prop where he hid the notes with his lines

Connie whales and sobs everytime during his last monologue (when R&J are already dead)

One time Connie forgets about the play so Reiner has to substitute him - Reiner also wanted this role but didn't want to rob Connie of it

the black robe that Connie usually wears is really figure-hugging on Reiner (that's the power of tiddies)

Juliet - Hitch

yk Krista was the first person to be suggested for the role but she declined

Mikasa agreed to play Juliet but only if Eren plays Romeo - both Eren and Jean were against it

the troop settled on Hitch

initially likes the fact of being a lead - but gets irritated when she needs to attend all of the rehearsals

her acting is good but a bit unhinged - she likes to be overly dramaric

during the scene of the first kiss during the ball, Hitch is more eager to kiss Marco (and not the other way around as it should be according to the script)

Rosaline - Krista

Rosaline doesn't have any lines but she appears on the stage (at least in some adaptations)

Krista volunteered to play her part because she kins Rosaline (like her decision not to marry a man)

her bright neon nails stand out in the crowd of extras

Nurse - Sasha

originally the troop was unsure of this casting because of Sasha's seemingly lacking sense of responsibility

but Sasha vigorously learns her lines and is by far the most hard-working

sometimes she cheats though by sliding the notes with difficult-to-memorize lines inside her sleeves

although Sasha's nurse is not portrayed as caring as she should be, Sasha still manages to bring out the humurous side of the character

improvises a lot and makes a lot of jokes on the stage

gets berated by the director because of it

Production team

Director - Jean

a huge controversy led up to Jean's appointment as a director

starts dressing up to fit into his director aesthetic

draws most of the decorations

has beef with Eren so assistant director has to step in every time in order to instruct Eren

has his own "vision" of the play and doesn't let the actors improvise too much because they are sabotaging his perfect play

Assistant Director - Pieck

much more chill in comparison to Jean

unofficial director and the troop tends to be more cooperative with her

supervises all of the scenes where Eren has speaking lines

hosts teambuilding activities inbetween the reahearsals

Set Designer (also Prop Master) - Hange

their initial drafts on the decorations turn out to be too complicated for the school play

raids local thrift and craft stores in search of perfect props

spray-on metalic paint (silver or gold) is their solution to beautify the ugly looking props

didn't bother to make the blades of the swords dull

somehow gets their hands on a historical piece - which turns out to be a piece of broken crockery

Costume Designer - Levi

makes the costumes the way he wants them to be and is unfazed by Jean's requests

will die on this hill if the costumes are not historically accurate

the troop is scared to put on the costumes because Levi is gonna beat the shit out of them if they damage the clothes

is present during the rehearsals to make sure that the troop wears the costumes properly

Stage Crew - Bertholdt, Ymir and Mikasa

Ymir is the most focused out of the three - that is wnen Krista is not in the wings - otherwise she gets distracted and strikes up a conversations with her

Bertholdt hangs up all of the decorations thanks to his height (man's a fucking tree)

when it comes to the fast change of set decorations, Mikasa is the best at this

it turned out really messy but i hope you like it!

This ask just gives me an excuse to write more infomation about my WIPS and AUS! All of which are open for asks, I love talking about my writing and my little gremlin OC Jay and the polycule!

Till death do us part, please keep breaking my heart ['Til it ceases to beat, please be mine.]: My hungbucks fic that is currently leaning towards more romantic hangmatt and platonic hangnick. However I am currently unsure what way it is going to go. A look at the Bucks and Hangers relationship just after Hanger wins the AEW world title and Kennny disappears. Its highly implied that Kenny had a relationship with both Hanger and the Bucks because he totally did. Can you read it? Yes the first two chapters are currently up on AO3]

Writing Requests: Yes, I take writing requests! I have one that im currently working on but my requests are open so ive any of my followers or just people who see my tumblr advertised on AO3 [I sometimes mention it in my notes] and gone "damn I wish you would write X thing" drop it into my askbox and maybe I will, I mostly unsprisingly wrie for AEW/WWE at the moment and I will not write X readers but if you ever want that, I can suggest some people who do write fantastic X reader fics! Can I read it?: Yes I also post my requests on AO3 as well as my matherlist

The ghost story would be over: Taking place during and after AEW full gear where Regal betrays the BCC. I thought about how Jay would react to it as not just only as a member of the BCC but also as a Regals grandchild. A look at how close Jay and the BCC are with added connections to the Elite. Currently its a look at Jay's found family with the BCC and romance with Wheeler as well as just as how close she is with the bucks as brothers and Kenny as his beloved. A queer look at found family and betrayal with a distinct human touch. Can I read it?: Yes, please do its my favourite thing im working on so far! The first two chapters are currently on AO3

And I'll be in denyal for just a little while [What about the plans we made?]: A fic that looks at Jays canon story. From working on NXT as a mixed tag team with adam cole, to their blossoming relationship barely hidden as fuck-buddies, to betrayal and loss. Follow Jay through her transformation from Jayden Orton, still stuck behind her cousins shadow to Jay Orton, the poly genderqueer bisexual. A journey which is incredibly always linked with one beloved baybay with blue eyes. Can I read it?: Not yet, Currently I am half way through the first chapter but I promise you can soon!

Turn you on when I need you: Adam loves Kenny. Kenny doesnt love Adam. At least, not the way Adam wants him too. hes there for a quick fuck whenever Kenny is stressed. and its not like he doesnt LIKE adam, Kenny does. He just doesnt Love him..until Adam gets another boyfriend sometime later and Kenny realises that his heart longs for the cowboy. Can I read it?: Not yet, it is currently in the stages of just being an idea. Ya know spoken about in discord messages and linked in other stories.

And now for AUS!

The step-by-step franchise! Have you ever questioned about what wrestlers would be like as kids? what about as stupid middle school children? high school? college?! well now you dont have to wonder. as we're writing it! [me and my big sibling @itsnoosetome] a four part series following a collection of wwe/aew wrestlers as well as like three OCs! Can I read it?: No, at the moment its' currently being writen but theres ideas and asks are always appreciated!

The soulmate actor Au A look at Jay [OC] and their boyfriends and girlfriend through the lense of them all being soulmates. None of them wrestle. Wheeler and Jay work in a theatre, Kenny is an artist, Hanger is a western actor star and Cole is an a-list trans femme superstar who the elite happen to just use to fuck.

I love the taste of his pretty red lipstick [I love the taste of his pretty red tongue] The Stripper au! Your favourite aew stars strip for a living featuring a whole load of flirting and unresolved trauma. Lots of trans characters too! becuase we cannot be stopped! Can I read it? Eventually maybe.

What baking can do The bakery au! Mostly planned. but more non-wrestling AUS. Four chapters are planned. Follow Jay [again, look he has a fun veiw of the world] through the little bakery town that all the wrestlers live in!
