The fact that Mor regards Nesta as basically as evil and despicable as people like Keir is one of the reasons I cannot bring myself to like or respect her. Nesta fought for the humans, risked her own life to help the Fae in the war against Hybern, killed the king herself !! and was willing to die protecting Cassian. And yet because Nesta doesn’t get along with Rhys, because she’s struggling with her trauma and hurts Feyre’s and Cassian’s feelings, she deserves to be left for dead in the human lands? I’m sorry but Mor is the worst and I swear she’s just jealous that Cassian only has eyes for Nesta now. ✋😩

au in which Mav speaks a lot about their child, and Rooster gets insanely jealous of someone he doesn't know because he is supposed to be their only kid, okay?!
At least until Mav doesn't invite all the daggers to his home, and Ice is sleeping with said kid on Bradley's favourite armchair. But instead of a human child between the Iceman's arms, there's a cat. The cutest fucking cat ever seeing on the face of the planet but still, a cat.
Months later, Uncle Slider is still teasing him for being jealous of a cat while Ice pats his curles and "as if we would ever replaced you, baby goose."

could you imagine being a little girl growing up in hewn city and Mor’s in charge and you hear about her engagement and her escape and you think finally someone understands what’s happening to me and there’s proof that you can get out that things can get better and not only that but she’s in charge!! the high lord’s third in command and she’s the queen of hewn city, he said so. surely she will do something. surely she understands how you feel. and then being sent off to your forced marriage and all she does is show up every time and intimidate people as nothing more than the high lord’s lackey and then everything stays the same for a hundred years. then two hundred. then three…

Okay but what does "dreamer" even mean in the context of ACOTAR because everyone who's been called one is content with the status quo of oppressing anyone who doesn't live in the night court.
How the fuck are you gonna tell me Rhysand is a dreamer? He's been the high lord for like 500 years and done absolutely nothing for his people. "He protected Velaris" yeah? That's his job? And he doesn't even do it right because 2/3 of his court hate him and live in terrible conditions
So does it simply mean someone born in the Court of Dreams? Because if so what a disgusting way of praising someone's character. "We need to help More because she's a dreamer" okay? Why does that make her more deserving of help than anyone else? You know who the real dreamers are? The citizens of the CoN who dream of a sliver of the food and money the CoD indulge themselves in. The women in Illyria who dream of flying again. All of which are perfectly attainable within the 500 years Rhysand's been on the throne for.

One thing that makes me rage about ACOTAR every single day is that there is no mention at all about who did the household chores when Feyre was hunting.
It's canon that Feyre doesn't know how to cook. She doesn't do household work. She would spend the day in the forest hunting, which of course is a great thing in itself for a child( she was fourteen I think when she started hunting) but who took care of the house(hut).
Something tells me it wasn't Papa Archeron or Elain. In the first few chapters of Thorns and Roses Nesta had chopped wood twice(I think, it's been a while since I read the book). I'm assuming as there isn't much info about this that Nesta was the one to do all household work. There's cooking, cleaning, laundry, chopping wood, mending clothes, doing repairs around the house if required, groceries, and about a hundred other little tasks that keep a house running smoothly. Feyre didn't do it, Papa Archeron didn't do it, I can bet my life Elain didn't do it. Did magic faeries come to their house at night to do all this.
I don't understand where the narrative that Nesta was a spoiled and lazy girl who sat on her ass and didn't do anything came from. You know, my father had always told my sister and i, that whatever conflict we have between us, we should resolve it amongst ourselves. If you let a bunch of strangers know about the weaklinks in your relationships they will break you both apart. Of course, he tells us this due to our snake-ish relatives but honestly, when I had read about the relationship between the sisters, I wanted to scream at the book to not let the IC exploit their issues for personal gain. Which they did. That's exactly what Rhysand has been doing since he met the sisters.

and you know what?? fuck madja the healer too because why would she only tell rhysand about the pregnancy risks and not feyre? that man literally had the entire night court down to the fucking healer conspiring against their own high lady. the level of treachery the inner circle engaged in to withhold the truth from her is why i don’t care about nestas “delivery” when she told feyre. nesta using a mean tone and raising her voice is still not as disrespectful as hiding the truth. the ic didn’t like nesta’s tone because they didn’t appreciate their lies being revealed.

One of the things I dont get is how Feyre now is totally cool about having like three mansions and so many jewels that they could build a palace out of them when ACOTAR Feyre would be disgusted by all that when the Illyrians are basically living in poverty.

Honestly we could REALLY get into the fact that a lot of the insanity in Acotar is an excellent exercise in why you can't really separate the art from the author.
Sjm's zionism is OBVIOUS in the text. The ic destabilize governments to the detriment of people they will never have to care for, steal artifacts from other countries, displace people, cause invasions, commit war crimes for 50 years "for the greater good" all while their own people are living under unchecked brutality and poverty.
They are rich megalomaniacs that care for no one but themselves and their own emotional and material satisfaction and they are PRAISED for it. In fact anyone who even remotely disagrees with the IC is almost always one of the villains in the story (Beron, Tamlin, etc) as if to condition the reader that asking questions that are critical of the IC puts you on the wrong side of the narrative morally.
All of that sounds REALLL familiar huh?

I wish soooo badly that Nesta had said something like “taking a page out of Tamlin’s book?” to Feyre when they told her she’d be locked in the house of wind. Feyre prob would’ve cried and Rhys prob would’ve killed Nesta for making Feyre cry but the satisfaction for me in that moment would’ve been 🤌

listen its not that tamlin locking feyre in a manor is ‘not a big deal’. its that sjm parallels tamlin and rhysand way too much for rhysand to be a viable, healthy option for feyre.
rhys put a whole city under a lockdown so severe people forgot about its existence (and from what the wiki says, the city was kept hidden for centuries even before, for the safety of its citizens) but tamlin locking feyre in a manor, so she wouldn’t follow him into an unsafe situation was crossing a line?

CPS: So how old is your son?
Feyre: Oh he is only a few months old.
CPS: okay, you look rather young how old are you and your husband?
Feyre: Oh I'm 22 and my husband is 538 years old.
CPS: ähm...Okay and how did the pregnancy go, went everything well?
Feyre: No, my husband didn't tell me during my pregnancy that I would die and then I almost did die during labour which would be unfortunate since we made a death pack, so if one of us dies the other dies too, you know?
CPS: Yeah...and who would have been the guardians if that would have happened?
Feyre: Oh we didn't thought that far ahead but I think one of my sisters probably, although my oldest sister and husband are currently on bad terms again.
CPS: Again?
Feyre: Yeah the first time my husband locked her up and later he wanted to kill her, because she told me that my pregnancy will kill me.
CPS *calling 911* : Guys I think we need back up.

"Cassian had heard enough. He wanted to return home—to the House, to Nesta. His fierce, beautiful mate, who had saved his High Lord and Lady and their son. He’d never stop being in awe of her, and all she had done. How far she’d come." - This from the man who never said (or thought) he loved her
What about anything beyond your physical attraction to her and her being utilized by the night court?
What about how she dances, her selflessness, her love of cake, her love of music, her expressions, her snark, how she stands her ground, her perseverance, how she loves her people so much that she calculated the exact measure it would take to help them, how good her heart really is, how she loves and wishes to be loved?
