Whatever this SEMINAR is about, she's hardly paying attention, confident enough in her own intellectual capabilities to assume it's useless drivel that she already knows ( and will not use. ) Instead, she's not-so-discretely bundling up a piece of swiss chocolate into a sheet of paper, with a note that has the audacity to make her intentions known near immediately.
' Here, in case you are still upset with me for failing to show up to dinner the previous evening. '

When you set out on your day off, you weren't expecting to run into your boss— certainly not in a cafe, of all places.
"Your grace?" you ask hesitantly, approaching the table that Wriothesley and Sigewinne occupy. There's a litany of small desserts before them, as well as a teapot and two tea cups filled with rather aromatic tea. You run a hand over your top, trying to smooth any wrinkles that there may be. You certainly hadn't been expecting to run into him here! Oh, if you knew you would have dressed a little bit better. As it is, you were just here to hunt down an afternoon snack, and you certainly looked it.
But Wriothesley lights up at the sight of you, a small smile curling the edge of his lips. Sigewinne grins too, waving in welcome.
"Hello there!" She says pleasantly. "We weren't expecting to see you here!"
You chuckle. "Same here."
"But it seems like you've come at quite the opportune moment," Wriothesley says, beckoning you into one of the empty chairs of the table. He straightens a bit, slouching less in his seat, and leans forward on his elbows. That smile is still on his lips, and his gaze hasn't left you for a second. "I'm afraid we may have gone a bit overboard with our order. You'd be doing us a favor by having some." Sigewinne nods in agreement. You feel the blood rush to your face though, turning it warm.
"Oh, I couldn't impose like that, your grace—"
"Sure you can," Wriothesley's smile broadens then, and you get a hint of his canines in his smile. A slight hint of a dimple on his cheek. "I already said that you'd be doing us a favor, didn't I? Besides, you can drop the 'your grace' while we're here. Treat this like... a serendipitous meeting between friendly parties, rather than between coworkers."
And oh, if you thought that your face was warm before, it had practically doubled in temperature now. Not wanting him to hurry you any further, you plop in the seat. Sigewinne giggles, pouring you a cup of tea and handing it to you which you take with a word of thanks.
"Here," says Wriothesley. He gestures for you to hand him your plate, and as you do so, your fingers brush. It sends tingles up your arm, and you damn near drop the plate out of reflex. Wriothesley, judging by how he clears his throat, his ears turning several shades redder, is not unaffected either.
He fills the plate with lots of confectionaries, desserts, finger foods, and sandwiches, and all sorts of other things. Sigewinne points out some things for him to give you on occasion, and he happily takes her suggestion and gives you some. Well. You've certainly got your afternoon snack and thensome.
As Wriothesley hands the plate back to you, he pauses just as you've taken hold of the other side.
"You know... I think this is the first time I've seen you in broad daylight," he muses. His cheeks redden a bit, and he chuckles at himself under his breath. "The sunlight makes you look even more stunning than usual."
And you make an embarrassed noise, because archons, you might just be in need of medical assistance by the end of this, because there is no way the flipping of your heart is normal. You take the plate, looking down and away so he doesn't see your flustered expression, but he has anyway, if his small laugh is any indication.
"If you ever want to come back here, feel free to say so. My treat." Wriothesley offers, gazing at you with his chin resting on his palm. He looks at you like he never wants to look away. "I'd be happy to see you in this sunshine again, if you'd let me."

I saw your post about what your biggest strength as rper is shortly before I was about to go to bed yesterday... I will mainly make references about your other character Anya cause she's the only one I've written with so far but I still wanted to send you this.
So yeah here it goes:
Creating an amazing character! I love Anya so much and from the bit we wrote together she's really cool and fun to write with. I just loved the moment when Anya said otherwise Katya would have missed her glowing personality. This made me laugh so bad. I also love Anya's background story and the fact that she has this superpowers because she's a mutant. All of this shows how much work and love you put into your character. Anya isn't just another bog standard character that you have seen 1000 times before and who is clearly mary sue and overpowered etc.
Your writing style! I just love it! I love the way you formulate and explain everything that your character does. That you also write down what your character is thinking and feeling at the moment and about specific things. It gives me so much to work with so that it never happened that I read your replie and was like "Okay and what am I supposed to answer to this now?" Okay it did happen but more because I had so many ideas what to asnwer. And beside all of this I'm learning new words thanks to you. For example I didn't knew the word "scoff" before but now I do.
Your formatting style! I love how you are always formatting everything with the colorfull passages and icons etc. I would do the same but I don't have icons and I have no idea how to make them and tbh I'm also kinda lazy to make them. BUT I really love it how you do it. I even adopted the idea of making some text parts in another color because I loved it so much. I just have to learn how to use other colors because the standard colors of tumblr aren't that great.
Our OOC talk! It's so great for me to be able to talk OOC with the people I rp with. First of all because it makes things easier to plot but also to get to know eachoter better. It also helps so much with my anxiety and my fear to talk to people. AND THE PLOTTING!!! I LOVE PLOTTING!!! AND RANTING ABOUT OUR CHARACTERS!!!
You're personality! You're such a sweet, beautiful and lovely person and I really appriciate how niece you have been so far, for example with reading through my masseges which always tend to be far to long because of all my rambling without telling me to shut up or anything.
Over all I really love to rp with you. You're an amazing person and it's so much fun to build this story together that we are now working on but also to just talk about stuff OOC.
Sending You Lots Of Love
Tumblr media
THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH SWEETIE!!! This really warms my heart and I am so glad that you enjoy Anya so much, and I am very much looking forward to the thread with Steve and Katya, he's gonna be such a sweet dad to her! And I really appreciate all of the things you pointed out. I don't have the opportunity to do the things I used to love to do, so writing is my main hobby now. It's nice to see that people love the amount of effort I put into my muses.

Note - Set in a soulmate AU, where you see the world in black and white until you lock eyes with your soulmate, when you look into their eyes you are finally able to see in color. (Also Triple H is like your big brother, but there's no actual relation.)
----
"I still can't believe you've never seen one of my shows live." Triple H teased (Y/n) as they walked together through the halls of the arena. "I've never had the opportunity, always been to busy with work." (Y/n) pouted playfully, snickering when H wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders. "I see how it is, can't make time for the man that's like a big brother to you." He mused with mock hurt in his eyes. "I'm here now, aren't I?" (Y/n) sassed with a grin. "Only because I dragged you here kicking and screaming." H fired back. "I didn't scream." (Y/n) huffed with a pout. "You did kick me though." H pointed out, making (Y/n) sigh exasperatedly. "That's because you startled me! I thought someone was trying to kidnap me!" She argued making H laugh. "Who would wanna kidnap you?" He taunted playfully. "Clearly you would." (Y/n) rolled her eyes while trying to suppress a grin. "Like I said, I had to. Only way to get you away from that computer of yours, and make you take a day off finally." As he spoke his demeanor became somber, making (Y/n) smile softly. "And I appreciate that." She hugged her friend, subconsciously grateful he had a shirt on despite being geared up for a match.
They pulled apart and continued on their way, catching up on this and that, until they reached their destination. "Hey Jeff I want you to meet my sister." Triple H announced as they approached the younger male, who smiled at H. "I'd love to." Jeff hummed before casting his eyes to (Y/n), who's heart froze in her chest. For the first time in her life the monochrome world she was used to seeing came to life with color. She'd met her soulmate, but her heart shattered when she realized Jeff was unfazed in the slightest, he didn't feel it. "Hi my names (Y/n), um I'm a fan." (Y/n) exhaled trying to swallow the knot building in her throat. "It's a pleasure to meet you (Y/n)." Jeff shook her hand as if she was just another fan, unknowingly breaking her heart further. "Good luck out there." She squeaked before rushing off in a hurry, trying to hide the tears rolling down her cheeks. "Did I do something wrong?" Jeff asked H with a confused look in his eyes. "I don't know." H responded with just as much confusion, following after her, while Jeff was escorted to make his entrance for the match.
"Hey what's wrong?" Triple H asked (Y/n) when he caught up to her, grasping her shoulders to keep her from running. "I can see in color." (Y/n)'s bottom lip quivered and her voice shook. "You mean?..." A smile bloomed on H's face. "That's grate!" His smile vanished when (Y/n) wept a little harder. "No it isn't H, he didn't feel it. He's my soulmate, but I'm not his!" She sobbed as her body began shaking, her deepest fear coming true. She'd found her one and only, but she wasn't his. Anger washed over H's face and his grip on (Y/n)'s shoulders tightened slightly. "I'm gonna kill him." H announced before storming off to make his own entrance for the show. (Y/n) reached out for her dearest friend, not wanting him to hurt Jeff, despite the pain her heart was experiencing. "Please don't!" She called out weakly, crumbling to the floor crying.
The moment Triple H stepped into the ring Jeff knew something was off, he could practically see the angry fire glowing within H's eyes. Subconsciously he backed off, no longer wanting to go through with this fight. But Triple H was having none of it, he loomed over Jeff and began his angry assault, trying to convince Jeff to fight him legitimately. But Jeff refused to engage, and with confusion he played pacifist. H continued to yell at Jeff, but Jeff refused to engage. The referee and fans alike just watched with confusion and bated breath. All the while (Y/n) sat on the floor crying, her eyes casting to the screen to see what was happening for a moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sight made her heart ache for Jeff, and with determination she rose to her feet. She rushed to the main entrance that the wrestlers used, rushing passes a guard before he could stop her. She raced to the ring, fans and commentators beyond confused now. (Y/n) climbed into the ring, and when the ref tried stopping her she punched him in the nose, accidentally knocking the poor man out. The audience cheered at the sight of violence, while security began rushing to the ring. But (Y/n) wasn't going to stop until she'd gotten H out of there. "H please." She cried as she rushed to his side, grasping his bicep between her hands, trying to turn his attention to her.
"H please it's not his fault!" (Y/n) shoved H back as hard as she could when he tried to go for Jeff. "He doesn't even know, it's not his fault." She hissed as her sorrow was replaced with anger, the sight of her standing between H and Jeff, defending him despite the pain he had caused her, was enough to snap H out of his anger fueled blackout. "Please don't hurt him." (Y/n) begged as her own anger calmed, a numbness washing over her entire being. "He broke your heart." H argued. "It's not his fault, he didn't even realize what was happening. No one is to blame, its just how life is sometimes." (Y/n) explained as she approached H, her words making Jeff realize what had happened. "I'm suppose to protect you." H murmured quietly. "You can't protect me from everything." (Y/n) smiled sadly, resting her hand against H's cheek.
--
The fight never properly happened, and when backstage, Triple H apologized to Jeff. Who in turn apologized profusely to (Y/n) for what happened. Fans and everyone else was left with more questions than answers, but the three of them agreed to just sweep it under the rug, and forget about it. So whenever interviewers asked about it H and Jeff would either act as if they had no idea what they were talking about, or they would change the subject entirely. (Y/n) went back to her normal routine of work, trying to busy herself so she wouldn't think about the pain she was feeling. Months would go by before H was able to pull her out of it, and bring her along to another fight, assuring her that Jeff wasn't going to be there.
"This is a terrible idea." (Y/n) grumbled under her breath, making H smile sadly. "Come on you'll be alright, you just gotta give it time." H assured her comfortingly. "H the color has faded from my vision, I don't think I'm going to be alright any time soon." (Y/n) explained, making H feel sympathy for her. "I can't say I know what you're going through, but I know you well enough to know you're strong enough to get through this." H hugged her firmly, a sigh escaping him when on of the crew members told him it was time for him to head out. "Stay back here for me, this shouldn't take to long." H joked making (Y/n) smile softly. "Go get 'em big guy." (Y/n) encouraged with a wave as he walked off. And as H was led out someone else came back stumbling on a clearly injured leg.
Tumblr media
"Christ are you alright?" (Y/n) asked as she rushed to his side, her thoughts consumed with a newfound worry for the man. "Yeah yeah I'm alright." He waved her off without looking at her, attempting to stand on his own. "Clearly you're not alright." (Y/n) sassed as she placed herself into his side, wrapping his arm around her shoulder, she allowed him to lean on her as they walked to a place where he could sit. "Thanks." He muttered almost shyly avoiding looking at her. "Stay here, I'll go get some help." (Y/n) instructed gasping in surprise when he quickly grasped her hand, looking up into her eyes. A familiar look of adoration swelling within his eyes, and a newfound panic swelling within (Y/n)'s chest. "You're..." He smiled before pushing to stand up, leaning against the wall a little for support. "We need to talk first." (Y/n) grasped his hand once again allows him to lean on her for support as they found somewhere private to talk.
Once the door shut he pulled away from (Y/n) to lean against a wall. "My names Jonathan by the way." He introduced himself with a small grin. "My names (Y/n)." She crossed her arms over her chest, clearing her throat a moment later. "Is something wrong?" He asked as he took in her nervous demeanor. "You can see in color now right?" (Y/n) asked bluntly. "Of course, and so can you right?" Jonathan asked with confusion in his eyes, but a smile on his face. "I used to be able to, for a short while..." (Y/n) admitted, the smile vanishing from Jonathan's face. "So I'm not your soulmate?" He asked almost bitterly. "No... And the man that is my soulmate, well I'm not his either." (Y/n) cleared her throat, trying to fight the knot building. "Is it someone I know?" He asked as he leaned further into the wall. "Probably... It's um." She cleared her throat again. "It's Jeff Hardy." (Y/n) admitted with a strained voice. "Right... He's married isn't he?" Jonathan asked with a frown. "Yeah he is, he's married to his soulmate." (Y/n) nodded her head, feeling guilty for putting Jonathan through what Jeff had her.
"Then if he's your soulmate then he couldn't be her soulmate." Jonathan pointed out, tilting his head. "I don't know." (Y/n) shrugged her shoulders. "Unless he somehow became her soulmate over time." Jonathan continued. "Can we please stop talking about him?" (Y/n) asked with an annoyed huff. "I'm happy to, I just think he's shit outta luck to miss out on you." Jonathan mused making (Y/n) roll her eyes, a faint grin tugging at her lips. "Give me a chance?" Jonathan asked with hope in his voice. (Y/n) thought about it for a moment then smiled softly. "Okay I'll give you a chance, it's the least I can do." She shrugged, giggling when he picked her up into his arms, clearly ignoring the pain in his leg as he twirled her around. "This means everything to me." He stated as he kissed the crown of her head, placing her back onto her feet. "How about we get you to a doctor now." (Y/n) offered when he fell back against the wall, wincing in pain. "They're already waiting for me." He stated as he began limping backwards to the door, blowing (Y/n) a kiss before he left the room.

Chapter 3: A journey to the janitors closet.
It had been a few days since your first interaction, but aside from polite smiles between passing, there wasn't much conversation between you two.
Even when you would be able to muster out a quiet “how is everything?” He would respond in a hurry, “Fine, thank you.” Polite still, but he was busy, or at least acting like it. You sighed leaning on the counter and looked down at your phone, clicking it on to check the time.
3:45 a.m. “shit..” you groaned. Still having a few hours left on your shift, you walked to go get the vacuum cleaner from the main janitorial closet. Taking the elevator with the set of keys you stepped off on the second floor, and that's when you saw him again. His hair swayed ever so lightly as he walked, seemingly hypnotizing you as you couldn't help but admire his sandy brown locks.
He was walking towards his room, entering the hallway from the stairs, carrying a few heavy looking bags. They even sounded heavy, making a few louder thuds when set down by his door.
You of course saw this as an opportunity to talk to him again.
“Hey! Um, do you need help with those?” you called from a few doors down. He looked a little startled to notice you there, and he took a moment before responding.
“Oh I think I got it.” He smiled, again a polite smile. But you were more determined to learn why he seemingly avoided you, and what he was up to. If he was actually busy all the time, it would probably be interesting.
“Aw, cmon.” you teased walking up to him anyway.
“It's only 4 bags.” he offered in return. “Yeah, 4 big bags.” you chuckled, “What is it anyway?”
He got that tomato face and deer in the headlights look again after your words fell upon his ears.
“Oh just uh.. Computer stuff?” he sounded more like he was asking a question but you just nodded and then finally taking a hint, you started to back off. “Aw, well, I wouldn't want to mess you up.” You smiled up to him and his face relaxed, so much so it almost looked like he was smiling a bit.
“I appreciate it y/n.” He kept his rosy cheeks through the end of the conversation. You nodded and then turned to leave, you could hear him mumble something to himself but deciding you'd already bugged him enough.
His green eyes behind those clear lenses seemed to replay in your mind as you continued to get the vacuum again. “Patrick..” you said it aloud to yourself, loving the way it sounded when you said it. It was like taking a breath of fresh cut roses, sweet, light, and soft.
You were soon ripped out of your thoughts by Ron, who had beat you to the closet.
“Shit, I'm sorry Ron.” You sighed,
“It's alright, I saw you were busy talking to the new tenant.” He said with an almost teasing tone. Ron was an older man in his late 50’s and had been there for as long as you could remember, even before you actually worked there. He had always been kind, and not to take advantage of people, but because he truly cared.
Unlike most in the city, he was a better man. He had married his wife and had a cookie cutter life up until the recession, which had led him to his current position as a manager right beside you. But even now he still was kind and content with his life, still married, still alive. To Ron that was more than enough everyday.
You turned a shade of pink after his comment. “Oh yeah, he was just bringing some bags up and I thought I'd help him.” you mused.
“Wait, he's bringing more bags?” he asked and you nodded.
“Yeah he had like 4 big duffel bags, like when he checked in a few days ago.” Ron furrowed one of his brows slightly downward.
“Huh, well that's gotta be like the 5th time he's brought up bags like that again..” You looked at him starting to piece together what he was implying.
“Oh, c'mon. I doubt he's a drophead, or working for anyone at the lounge.” You chuckled nervously. “Well how would you know?” he teased again. “He just seems.. Not like that type?” you felt silly, but to you Patrick seemed harmless. You doubt he could hurt a fly and then you said it to Ron.
“I don't think he could hurt a fly.” you shrugged.
“Well.. just be careful when you're working these late nights, I wanna make sure my fellow employees are safe.” He smiled softly, genuinely meaning it.
You nodded and then walked back to the elevators with him, heading down to clean. You checked your phone again in the elevator, clicking it on. “5:15 a.m” you said out loud. “You can head home early if you'd like.” Ron smiled, maybe he was a little worried about your encounter with Patrick. But you weren't gonna say no. “Thanks, I'll grab my bag and head out after we vacuum.” you smiled and started on your chores with Ron.

V3 girls reacting to their s/o giving them a bouquet of flowers
This is more so a random idea that popped up in my head but it's a cute idea so why not write it out
Might do the other female casts from the other games if this one is well received (if not I'll still probably do it cus mm,, cute girls)
SDR2 version | THH version
Tumblr media Tumblr media
【Kaede Akamatsu】
• Kaede was backstage after finishing up her amazing piano recital
• Since you were obviously her s/o, you were able to go backstage to see her before she went out or when she finished
• So you had the amazing idea to surprise her with a bouquet of flowers once she finished her recital
• And thats just what you did!
• You bought her a bouquet of her favorite flowers with a cute written notecard that said "Another amazing performance by my amazing Ultimate Pianist!"
• She was so happy when you surprised it to her, you have no idea
• She gave you a lot of kisses and when the two of you got home, cuddles!!
• Now the flowers sit beautifully in a colorful vase on top of the dresser in the bedroom, being taken care of everyday
【Kirumi Tojo】
• You decided to surprise her with flowers since Kirumi is always working so hard
• It's pretty easy to tell that being the Ultimate Maid wasn't easy at all
• It was one of those very rare days where Kirumi was able to take a light break and go over everything to see if she just so happened to forget something (she obviously didn't but an excuse is an excuse)
• You saw it as a perfect opportunity to surprise her with the flowers
• When you did show them to her, telling her that she didn't need to work so hard for everyone else and to just take care of herself once in a while, she smiled
• Success!
• She gives you cute peppered kisses as a thank you
• She waters and takes care of them everyday to make sure they never wilt
• Give her more flowers! She loves them a lot and always loves taking care of them
【Himiko Yumeno】
• She needed flowers for one of her magic shows
• So you got her a bouquet of them!
• A very pleased little mage
• She decided to split them up, using the ones needed for her show, and the rest for her hat
• She somehow gets them to stay on her hat without falling so now her mage hat is cutely decorated with the flowers you got her
• In addition, she puts a spell on them so they never ever wilt and stay in perfect condition
• You were glad the flowers weren't real anyways
【Angie Yonaga】
• Ahah! Her s/o strikes again
• You wanted to surprise her with flowers since Angie somehow hit some sort of creator/art block
• She was painting random things on a canvas when you decided to surpise
• She loved the flowers you got her!
• In reward, she gives you a playful kiss and also does a painting of the flowers
• She needed the inspiration, so she was extra happy that her s/o is her muse
• Will gift you the painting since you gifted her both the inspiration and flowers
• Now the painting is hanged up in the bedroom and the flowers sit in a handmade clay pot in Angie's art lab
【Miu Iruma】
• Honestly you didn't have much of a reason to gift her flowers
• You just wanted to do a cute romantic gesture
• You left the flowers on her desk in her lab, with an added bonus of a small box of chocolates
• When she found it, she freaked
• And I mean it when she freaked
• Miu basically ran over to you with blush across her face and gave you so so so many kisses
• Heck she'll probably end up making you some sort of invention
• She slightly sees this as a competition now
• Will probably brag about her golden brain and how she can always top your gifts with her inventions
• You don't take it personally and let her have her fun in this now made up competition to see who can give the best gift
【Maki Harukawa】
• You'll be lucky if you really even get a reaction from her
• Or at least get to see it upfront
• You know Maki is not exactly one for receiving gifts, so giving her a bouquet of flowers was definitely a surprise
• Her reaction to receiving the flowers can go one of two ways:
• One way would be is that she doesn't exactly give you a reaction, thanking you in her slightly monotonous tone, and taking the flowers away
• She'll be blushing though once she starts walking away with the flowers
• The other way would be that she'll already be blushing by the sudden gesture
• All you can hear is a soft stuttered "Thank you" while you look at your now blushing girlfriend
• Will probably gift you something in return either way despite which reaction you do get so don't worry too much ^^
【Tenko Chabashira】
• A huge sucker for gifts!
• She's always showering you with some kind of affection, so why not do the same to her in return?
• And gifting her flowers was a great choice!
• She was a blushing mess when you held them out to her, giving her all kinds of compliments along with it
• Tenko was so happy she felt her energized than before!
• She gave you so many kisses, and with her being a huge cuddlebug, expect tons of cuddle after her training sessions
• She even puts some of the flowers in her hair!! It's like you are always with her now and she looks even more fabulous than before
• No one gets to touch them! Touch the flowers and you'll be down on the floor in pain in a second
• They are special flowers to her, so no one but you and her get to touch the flowers
【Tsumugi Shirogane】
• A lot of fake flowers
• You often gift Tsumugi fake flowers because she'll usually need them for her cosplays
• But that doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate the gesture!
• In return you'll usually get kisses and get to try on her finished cosplay outfit with the flowers if you want too
• Sometimes she'll steal a few and wear them! Most likely just in her hair or incorporate it on her regular outfit
• But when you surprise her with a bouquet of real flowers, it takes her a minute to collect herself
• She turns into a slightly blushing mess and would try her best to take care of them
• The flowers sit in her lab so she can look at them whenever she's working on her cosplays
• But you'll probably get a bigger bouquet of flowers in return from her since its only fair
• And that's what people do in the animes right?

The guy turned to leave before looking back over his shoulder at the door, his hand on the door handle.
"If it makes any difference I would choose you over your brother any day." He winked as he left the room.
"What the actual fuck." You shout, storming out of the bathroom in a huff. "There's no way he's gunna stay quiet, it'll be all over the press come tomorrow." You paced the room, your heart beating fast as the adrenaline rushed through you. This was it, this was how it was all going to end. Liam would know as soon as he saw the headlines, all those late night and weekend conferences at the same time as Chris was conveniently away with work.
"To be fair, he does have good taste in men." Chris' usual nonchalance annoyed you, how come he could stay so calm? Why did he make you sound like a crazy person for actually worrying about what might happen.
"It's really not funny Chris, do you want our business known by strangers before we even have chance to speak to Liam and your Mom Chris, she's going to hate me." You feel the warm tears dripping down your cheeks before you even register you're crying. The thought of their mom hating you upsets you more than the thought of Liam hating you. Cathy, their mom was like your own mother, from day one she'd taken you under her wing.
"My Mom would love you no matter what, you know she thinks of you as her own daughter. It's me she's going to blame, Liam's her baby."
"Yeah you're probably right but still what are we gunna do?"
"Let's relax babe, you don't know what's going to happen and you can't change it if it does happen so what's the use in worrying about it. Come here."
"You piss me off Chris, you're so laid back. This isn't something you can just sweep under the carpet. It's serious." You needed to take your anger out on him, to let it all out so you could feel better. The four walls of the hotel room were becoming claustrophobic, you wish you could just put your headphones on and just run for a while to clear your head, that's what you usually did.
"I know it is but what can we do? I've done everything we can do, now it's out of our hands. We'll work it out tomorrow, can we enjoy our last night together without all the serious talk?" He raises his eyebrow at you, smiling that sweet, goofy smile of his that has your heart melting.
"You piss me off even more when you look at me like that. I can't stay mad at you and how could I say no to that?" You put your arms around his back, loving the way his height makes you feel so small and safe. He wraps his arms around you, stroking your hair and holding you close.
"That's why I love you yanno."
"Why?" You ask, looking up at him through your eyelashes, your neck stretching to reach his height.
"Because you never say no." He laughs, a real laugh that you can feel on his toned stomach, shaking against you. It was the best feeling hearing him laugh like that, it'd been so long since you'd heard him laugh. Your life being full of a lot of drama and upset recently that you were appreciative of the little time you had left together.
"Maybe I should start then." You pout pretending to sulk.
"No way, I love how easy you are." He picks you up so you can wrap your legs around him, looking down on him for once. You punch him lightly on his shoulder, still pouting. "Ok, ok I'll stop teasing. You know why I love you though."
"Tell me."
He sits down on the end of the bed with you still in his arms, resting on his great big, thick thighs. He moves your hair behind your ears so he can see your face, studying it carefully with a look of adoration in his eyes.
"I love you because you're absolutely drop dead gorgeous, I mean the first time I met you, you literally knocked the air from my lungs. I've been obsessed with you ever since." He shuffles slightly beneath you, getting himself comfy. "This would never have happened with just anyone, I'm not a dick that goes around sleeping with his brothers girls." You give him a questioning look, your eyebrows furrowing. "Seriously, it took fucking everything in me to try and resist you. I'd never felt that before, never been one of them that wants what they can't have. Until I met you. Fuck me you were an absolute bombshell." You frown at him. "Are, still are a bombshell, don't look at me like that." He laughs.
"Tell me more." You whisper, feeling yourself tear up at his revelations as you run your hand through his hair, his eyes closing as you do.
"Am I stroking your ego?" He smiles slyly. "Do you remember the first time you met me?"
"Of course I do, me and Liam had already been together a year but you'd been in Australia. I was eighteen, young and dumb..."
"And full of..."
"Do not even finish that sentence, you're ruining the moment." He laughs at you but quickly gets back to being serious.
"You were eighteen and ridiculously mature for your age, I was twenty six and still acted like a teenager. I remember you walking in in that little denim skirt and tank top, smiling at me with that beautiful smile. The first thing I noticed was your eyes, the way they lit up when you smiled. You had me right at that moment, I was smitten. Then you introduced yourself as Liam's girlfriend and my heart sank."
"I can't believe you remembered what i was wearing, it was twelve years ago." You kiss his forehead, holding his face in your hands. So glad you had the opportunity to talk like this, knowing all this made you know you hadn't made a mistake. "I was so nervous walking up to you, I'd only ever seen you on photos and crushing on you when you were in home and away. Then you're there in front of me looking sexy as hell and I knew I had to make a good impression."
"Little did you know, five years later I'd be bending you over that table and giving you everything you'd been searching for?" He questioned, raising his eyebrow at you with a smirk.
"No, dick! Little did I know you'd sweep me off my feet and make me question everything I ever knew."
"I am a dick but that's why you love me isn't it?"
"Your ego definitely doesn't need stroking. I fell in love with Liam when I was still a girl and I fell in love with you when I was a woman. People change, needs change and..."
"And I give you everything you need." His hand travelled to your ass pulling you into him, pressing against his growing erection.
"You do, you need to work on your arrogance though." You laugh. "But seriously I'm done with all this now, we can't go on like this anymore. I want all of you, all of the time."
"So you've made your decision." His lips part, his head resting against your forehead.
"Was there ever any doubt?" You question, running your finger over his lip and grinding against him subtly making him groan.
"Fuck Y/N, I fucking love you so much it's crazy." He says through gritted teeth, holding the small of your back as you raise your hips, your face contorting with need. "What would you do if I asked you to marry me?" His hand travelled down the back of your shorts, cupping your ass in his hands.
"What do you think?" You tease, taking his bottom lip in your teeth and pulling gently.
"I don't know, that's why I'm asking." His face was set seriously, he wasn't joking, he wanted to marry you.
"Of course I'd say yes, once we'd dealt with everything." You smile watching his face light up.
"You're going to be Mrs Hemsworth and mine, not Liam's. I can't fucking wait." He picks you up, gripping your ass making you squeel before planting you back on the bed on your back.
Leaning over you, his palm caressing your stomach, kneeding your breasts with his long fingers. His erection poking into your clothed heat.
"You're so fucking perfect, are you ready to cause destruction?"
"Like now, in bed or?..."
"You know what I mean." He laughs, reaching down to attach his lips to your neck, sucking gently.
"If it means I get you then yeah, I'm ready."
"Right answer. You've made me the happiest fucking man in the world yanno?" His hand moves under your top, pushing it up to your chin as his lips finally meet yours. Kissing you deeply with everything he's got, your body rising from the bed to meet his.
"I think... I can... Make you even happier." You say between kisses, pushing down his boxers, your nails scratching his skin gently as you do.
He rests on one elbow watching you free his cock from its barrier. You cup his balls in your hand, stroking along the length of his cock with the other. He groans, pushing himself into your hands.
"I'll be happier once I'm buried inside this perfect pussy." He kneels between your legs, pulling your panties off before hovering back over you.
"Go slow baby, I want to feel everything." You whisper.
"Fuck, I can't guarantee how long I'll last." He moans, lining himself up and slipping in making you both moan as his cock stretches your walls perfectly.
He rests on his elbows, holding your face in his hands as he gently thrusts into you, wrapping your legs around him and pushing him in further, deeper. Hitting your spot with the curl of his hips, agonisingly slowly. You look into each others eyes, his forehead resting against yours. Tears in your eyes from the intense intamacy.
"I love you Y/N." He declares gruffly, his voice deep with lust.
"I love you too." You whimper.
Moaning everytime his thighs connected with yours, flesh slapping together, bringing your hips up to meet him. Him grunting with every thrust, your sex noises filling the otherwise silent room. The sound like a symphony to your ears, turning you on even more to hear his exclamations of ecstacy.
"It's always been you Chris." You whisper, making his pace become sloppy, losing his composure and restraint at your words. You can see it on his face as it twists, his cock twitching inside of you.
"Come for me baby." He grits his teeth, the muscles in his jaw tightening as his body goes rigid.
"Ah fuck." He brings you over the edge with the last of his powerful thrusts, your legs shaking around him, the feeling of satisfaction melting through your body simultaneously. A proud look on his face as you both come together and he falls limply onto your sweat laced body.
You stay like that for a while, both enjoying the moment, his cock still twitching inside of you. The heaviness of his body burying you into the mattress but you don't complain.
You don't want him to move, you want to memorise the feel of his heaviness and how his cock feels inside of you. How his rough face feels against your smooth skin, his hair tickling under your chin. You trace the muscles on his back, the defined shoulders and lean waist. Your hands gripping his tight, round ass and you close your eyes, remembering every dip and ripple, dreading the thought of being without him in your arms for at least another couple of weeks.
"I don't know how I'm going to watch you walk away tomorrow." He rolls on to his side, pulling you into him. "I think that's the hardest thing to deal with out of everything."
"I was just thinking the same thing." You looked up at him through your eyelashes, your fingers brushing against his tight pecs. "You know we've been doing this for nearly 6 years now and I don't think I've ever felt as close to you as I do now. It's going to be even harder for me to leave this time."
"I don't even want to think about it but we only have hours left together, what's our plan?"
"You mean when and how do we tell Liam?" You ask sitting cross legged in the bed, reality kicking back in. You have to go home to Liam and leave Chris all over again, back to the lies and sneaking about.
"That and when am I going to be able to see you again? I don't want to wait as long as last time, you know how crazy i start getting when I don't see you."
"We've got your cousin's wedding next week. I'll see you there." You risk a glance at him, pain set on his face.
"You'll see me but you'll be arm in arm with Liam and I'll be alone again."
"How about once the weddings over and done with, we can tell Liam about us?" You watch his face change, like a little boy.
"A week? I can do that, I think. But I'm not going to the wedding alone."
"What do you mean? A date? With who?" Panic laced in your voice.
"I don't know but I'm sure I won't be short of options."
"Are you fucking with me? Liam thinks you're dating a married woman, where you going to find one of those?"
"I don't know but I'm not turning up to a family party on my own again, my aunties can be fucking brutal."
"Well don't expect to playing all happy families and me being all nice." You sulk.
"Are you jealous?"
"Yeah, duhh."
"Come here." He pulls you into arms wrapping his legs around yours. Comfortable silence drifting over you both as he strokes your hair and you fall asleep in his arms.
***********
You wake up in the morning smiling, then remembering what day it is and that you have to leave to go back to boring reality and your smile fades. Chris stirring beside you, his muscly arm resting over your stomach, locking you in place.
"Chris, wake up." You whisper in his ear, admiring his sleepy, perfect face. "It's 9.30 we've gotta check out at 10." He makes an unrecognisable sound of exasperation, his eyes opening, puffy with sleep or lack of in this case.
"Aww man, can't we just stay in bed a little longer, I don't wanna let you go."
"You need to go check out first so we don't leave the hotel at the same time."
"Fuck sake. Back to reality it is then." He says all hint of jokiness gone from his tone as he sits up and rubs his eyes.
"I'm afraid so, I need to go grab my things. Text me when you've left please."
"Wow! I feel used, do I not even get a kiss before you run out on me?"
"I was just dealing with the business before I dealt with the pleasure, like I'd just leave without giving you a kiss." You threw yourself on him, wrapping your legs around him as he leant against the headboard. Taking his lips in yours, open mouthed kisses that left you both breathless.
*****
You packed up the couple of things you'd actually taken out of your pull along suitcase, you'd spent most of the weekend naked or slobbing about in Chris' t-shirts so all your clothes were still folded and packed.
You were anxious about going home to Liam and having to pretend again, having to try and not slip up about where you'd actually been. You literally had to go through possible conversations in your mind, conjuring up imagined answers to Liam's possible questions so you didn't get caught out. It was hard work.
Then you got the text from Chris telling you he was out of the hotel and on the road back home, followed by how much of a good weekend he'd had and how much he loves you.
You couldn't help having a spring to your step as you walked through the lobby, a weekend full of love making and reminiscing would have that effect on anyone.
After you'd checked out, the anxiety set in, like stepping out of this hotel would be like stepping in to an alternate universe. A universe that wasn't simple and easy like it had been this weekend but stepping through those revolving doors would mean that will all end. This safe feeling of being alone, away from prying eyes would end as soon as you stepped foot outside and it did, a ominous feeling sweeping over you, goosebumps covering your flesh. Maybe you conjured up the feeling in your own mind, manifesting it into existence but you couldn't shake it.
A feeling of being watched, was it your imagination or not? You didn't know, all you knew was how much you wanted to get out of public and back home. As you stood in front of the hotel, picking up your suitcase to carry it down the stairs, something caught your eye. A flash. And then another flash coming from your peripheral.

Leuvis's Hunting [Fanfic]
Tumblr media
The day Sonju was taken hunting in Goldy Pond was the day he finally understood his brother.
"Are you sure he'll be alright?"
Lord Bayon underestimated Sonju's hearing. The young Prince listened as the aristocrat whispered to Leuvis, his brother.
"I wouldn't have brought him here if I didn't think so, Bayon," said Leuvis, slightly irritated. Palvus the monkey-demon chittered on his shoulder.
"Well…"
Lord Bayon was nervous about more than just that. His eyes lingered on the young outsider. Sonju was a prince, third in line to the throne and Leuvis’s younger brother, and Bayon knew him well enough to know his loyalties, but the change to his centuries-long hunting party unsettled him.
Sonju understood. They hunted live humans, bought and shipped to Bayon’s doorstep, and ate them together with the finest wines the lord could provide. They stole the rightful property of premium farms for their own pleasure; had done for centuries. If his sister, the Queen, found out, her fury alone would kill them all.
The young prince grinned. Bayon had nothing to fear. Legravalima disapproved of many things, including Sonju himself. An opportunity to defy her was the most delectable meat of all.
He recalled the night he left the palace. There Leuvis stood, shrouded in the darkness of the doorway, the glow of his lamp flickering in his black eyes.
“Come,” he said. “Tomorrow you hunt with me.”
These words echoed in Sonju’s mind as the hunters ventured underground: Leuvis, Bayon, Bayon’s servants, Luce, Luce’s servants, Nous, Nouma and himself. The party left Bayon’s estate far behind, their eyes trained on the paradise below.
A forest awaited them up ahead, deep and dark. The artificial sun had only just risen, glimmering red between the trees. It got Sonju’s blood pumping.
“So, when the music starts, the hunt begins?” he asked, drawing his brother’s attention.
Bayon was looking at him again. He could feel his eyes on the back of his neck.
“Exactly,” Leuvis replied, idly scratching Palvus behind the ears. “And when it ends, so does the hunt.”
“I can’t wait!” hissed Luce, slavering uncontrollably. “I can’t wait - hurry! It’s starting soon, hurry!” He was a runtish, yapping demon with a rabble of underlings clambering at his heels. Sonju looked down at him and questioned Bayon’s wisdom.
“I want a juicy fat one!” cried Nous, licking his thin, black lips.
“A young one!” said Nouma.
“What about you, your Highness?” Bayon asked.
"Uh…"
Sonju hadn’t been particular about his targets before. It was arrogant, it was wrong.
“Whatever Brother decides,” he replied finally. This seemed fair - Leuvis was the one who had brought him here, after all.
Leuvis chuckled. “A good answer, indeed.”
“He shall teach you much,” said Bayon, nodding appreciatively. “I daresay you could not find a better teacher.”
“Please, Bayon, no flattery,” Leuvis sighed. “I hear enough of it at court.”
"I mean it."
At that moment, a high, jangling tune pierced the air. It was faint and distant, but unmistakable to their sensitive ears. Luce let out a rebel yell and bounded away with his gang.
Nous and Nouma split away too, their wiry black forms melting into the darkness.
Bayon and Leuvis stood very still, listening.
“There shall be several out at this hour, gathering food,” Bayon mused. “With any luck, there will be prime cuts amongst the offal.”
“One can hope,” said Leuvis. “Good hunting, Bayon.”
Bayon nodded and took a right. “Good hunting, Leuvis, Prince Sonju."
He disappeared into the forest.
Sonju felt Leuvis’s bony hand on his shoulder.
“Come, little brother. Our time is limited.”
"Yes, sir."
Leuvis strode purposefully forward. Sonju followed, eager to keep pace with him. The young prince had been excited with many a tale of Leuvis’s part in the war, long ago. The Grand Duke could not replace the teacher Sonju lost, but no hunter alive was his equal.
Screams echoed from the direction Luce had gone, tangled with the lord's ugly laugh.
"He's fast," said Sonju.
"The fool would dine on blind newborns if he found them," Leuvis muttered.
The young prince wasn't surprised.
“Almost all the humans that live here are rabbits, Sonju,” his brother went on. “Weak, frightened things, unable to do anything but run on feeble little legs. What passion can a hunter find in that?”
They walked further through the forest. A screaming female child shot across their path without even noticing them. Sonju started forward, but Leuvis pulled him back. Seconds later, Luce and his band came shrieking after her.
"Get her! Get her, boys!"
Leuvis sighed and let go. “For heavens’ sake. Come, Sonju.”
The brothers continued on for a few minutes in silence before Leuvis slowed to a stop. He lifted the brim of his hat as he cast his eyes to the dark canopy above.
“How many do you sense, little brother?”
Sonju concentrated. Four. No, five humans. Their presences were mildly sensitive to the demons’ sensation, coming stronger from the left. They were perfectly immobile, each spread a certain distance apart from one another - except for one.
“Five, Brother,” said Sonju. “Waiting.”
A grin creaked between the plates of Leuvis’s mask. “Not hiding?”
“Unlikely,” said Sonju, frowning. “They're too evenly spread out - almost a perfect circle. There's one I'm not sure about - it's further away.”
Leuvis pressed his shoulder, showing all his teeth in a fierce grin. “Wonderful. We may hunt tigers yet!”
He nudged the prince in the direction of their targets.
“Surprise them, little brother."
“What about you?”
“I’ll be along,” Leuvis replied. “Good hunting.”
Sonju beamed. “Good hunting, Brother.”
Slipping into the undergrowth, spear in hand, the young prince trained his senses on his yet-unseen targets. None of them had budged an inch from their positions, and he was convinced that they lay in ambush.
He took a deep, slow breath. He had to treat this like any other hunt. Forget what his brother was doing, what the others were doing.
They were close now. Strangely, one human remained much farther than the others.
Sonju frowned. If this was an ambush, why would one detach themselves from the group? Was it just a hiding child, unrelated to the others? No. Sonju stopped and focused. No, this human was still in the immediate area. Yet its presence was faint.
He twitched. No. It wasn’t distance that made it faint - it was height. A lookout, perhaps, or a sniper.
Anticipation bubbling in his gut, Sonju crept forward. If he got this one first, their plan would suffer a heavy blow. Maybe even collapse.
A bony hand pressed his shoulder. Sonju turned slightly to see the Grand Duke crouched by his side, keeping to the shadows of the trees.
“What’re you waiting for, little brother?” he whispered.
Sonju lifted his head and pointed. “There’s one up high, right there. If I go any closer, it’ll spot me.”
“Very good,” said Leuvis. “Now what will you do?”
“I’m going to bring it down.”
“Oh?” Sonju could hear the amusement in his brother’s voice. “From this distance?”
“Yeah. I can do it.”
He reached behind to take his bow, but stopped. Under his brother's watchful eyes, he lifted his spear.
"I'll use this."
“You will be giving your prey a weapon with which to hunt you, little brother,” Leuvis warned, but there was a gleam in his eyes.
He was right. Not only that, but an arrow would more surely and easily find its mark.
Sonju smiled. His brother's excitement was infectious. “Well, that’ll make things more interesting, won’t it?”
Leuvis stared for a good few seconds before stifling a laugh. “I like it. Go!”
The prince shifted his position, shuffling left and right as he peered through the thick foliage for his target.
Finally, he saw her. A female - young, no more than ten years of age - perched on a high branch up ahead. She held a rifle in her hands, poised and ready.
Sonju took aim.
The girl never knew what hit her. The spearhead sliced through the trees and cut straight through her neck, severing the head. Screams filled the air as her body tipped and fell.
Sonju dashed forward, the thrill of success pumping through his body. He heard the girl’s body hit the ground and the panicked scattering of feet.
She was key to their plan. Now they have nothing.
He reached a clearing, where the girl’s body lay headless and bleeding. The surviving children were spreading out in all directions. No matter - Sonju would find them all.
Charging forward, he heard a snap. In the seconds it took to react, his leg was snatched out from under him and his world flipped upside down and he was yanked into the air.
Sonju forced his head up, dizzy from the shock.
“What the--?”
His leg was tied by a long piece of rope, fastened onto a spry tree branch bending overhead.
He was snared like a rabbit.
There was a terrible howl, and Sonju looked to see a dark-skinned boy running full pelt towards him with Sonju’s spear in his hands. The hate in his eyes shocked Sonju into action.
Using all his weight, Sonju swung himself as hard as he could. When he was high enough, he threw out his arms and slashed the rope with his nails. He dropped and landed hard on his side, coughing as dust flew up. With the boy steps away, the prince kicked up dirt and used the seconds it spared to rise and lunge.
The boy screamed, but not from fear. Hatred, anguish, the cry of victory lost. He knew it was over.
The battle, if it could be called that, was over. The boy lay dead at Sonju's feet.
The prince inspected his prey curiously. He could be no older than the female he killed. His hands were bloody, and the blood stained the shaft of Sonju’s spear.
Leuvis came out from the trees, chuckling. “That was quite the spectacle."
“I was careless,” Sonju muttered, his face reddening.
“Indeed," said the elder. "But you’ve hunted nothing but rabbits since you could throw a spear. It’s no wonder.”
Sonju knelt and rummaged in his pouch.
“The others are getting away,” said Leuvis, merely pointing out a fact rather than urging his brother on.
“It’ll only take a minute.”
Sonju picked out a Vida flower, its petals closed and pale. He looked at the boy and remembered the murderous look on his face. He had aimed to kill. Abandoned by his friends, he alone stood to fight.
The stem pierced his heart, and the flowers opened, flushing red with the life the gods had created.
In the quiet, he remembered his teacher’s words: “Never forget what it means to hunt life.”
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen anyone do that,” Leuvis remarked. “How nostalgic.”
“I’m returning what I borrowed,” said Sonju, standing.
His brother came closer, circling the body. Sonju could see the pure, animal glee in his face. “You saw his eyes too, yes? That was a tiger you killed.”
Leuvis bent down and put a hand on the boy’s still chest. “It was short-lived, and foolish, but you showed my brother human spirit. My thanks.”
Sonju, who had never seen this brother thank anyone sincerely before, could only stare.
“Come,” said Leuvis. “Your prey is escaping.”
The prince resumed the hunt, but as he picked each child off, one by one, his suspicions were confirmed. Without their leaders, the sniper girl and the boy, their camaraderie disintegrated. They sabotaged one another, screamed and cried, and ran as fast as their legs could take them. It was so easy, Sonju had time to plant a Vida flower in each body before the music stopped.
Leuvis followed Sonju without a word. He didn’t bother to do more than hang back, in perfect view of the fleeing prey. He didn’t care that the children soiled themselves at the sight of him and ran half-mad into the arms of death. He didn't care for their screams, or their desperate acts of self-preservation. They didn’t even reflect in his eyes.
The last boy dropped to the ground and buried his face in his hands, unable or unwilling to move. Sonju stepped forward. Leuvis, who was reclining against a nearby tree, turned his face away.
“Watch me, Brother,” said Sonju, annoyed.
“My own blood, putting down a half-dead rabbit? Spare me the sight.”
Sonju raised his spear and struck. The boy never moved again.
As he prepared the Vida flower, Leuvis spoke. The weariness in his voice made Sonju pause and listen.
“See what we’ve been reduced to, little brother,” he said. “Hunting mewling infants. In my youth I battled warriors. I was feared and hated, but my foes fought me for everything they had and everything I took from them. I responded in kind, and my very blood sang with joy. I am feared and hated still, but if my infamy cannot return the thrill of those days - what good is it? Damnit boy, put that away!”
In a rush of wind, Leuvis closed in, snatched the flower from Sonju's fingers and crushed it under his foot.
“Stop!” Sonju screamed. “Brother, stop!”
Palvus hissed. Its master was unrepentant. “How can you have pride, bestowing such a thing on lives so pitiful?”
“It’s not about pride!” Sonju shouted. “It’s about humility!”
“You feel no shame? That one you killed wasn’t even a rabbit. It was fodder.”
“It was a life!” cried Sonju. “All life has value - and deserves respect!”
Leuvis laughed a short, bitter laugh, and Sonju realised how angry he was. “Oh, dear, pious brother of mine, how I disagree!”
“Remove your foot now!”
“I suppose your teacher taught you these things,” said Leuvis. “The old ways. That’s why he died.”
Sonju’s hands shook. “He was murdered.”
“He was a fool,” said Leuvis quietly. “Now you practise a dead religion in the stead of a dead man, on unworthy fodder, in a world that rewards faith with death! Do you not see how pointless it is?”
That’s when Sonju struck. Howling, he lunged, spear-point for his brother’s eyes. Leuvis sprang back laughing out of Sonju’s range. He stood like the shadow of death itself in the red sunlight, smirking.
He had the Vida flower in his fingers.
“Take it back!” Sonju panted.
“Hum?”
“Take back what you said about him!”
“What’s this? A brother’s quarrel?”
It was Bayon. The lord approached from the trees between the two brothers, casting curious glances at their faces.
“'Tis indeed,” said Leuvis. “Stay back, Bayon. My little brother is quite angry.”
He turned his attention to Sonju, slowly twisting the Vida’s stem between his fingertips. He then pierced the stem through his cloak until only the flowers were visible.
“How about this? If you manage to take this flower from my person, I will retract my words.”
Sonju set his jaw and readied his spear. “Fine. And what do I give you?”
His brother’s eyes gleamed. “A fight.”

Chapter one
This takes place a year into the future.
......................................
"Spinel please be careful while you are down on Earth." White says worriedly as she kneels before the pink gem. Blue nods in agreement as she joins White on the floor.
"And don't forget to call us whenever you have the time." The cool colored diamond chimes in a soft smile gracing her features.
"And please bathe everyday so you don't get the stench of that disgusting planet onto your clothes." Yellow advise with a scowl on her face. She really hated the smell when they last visited, and she doubts much has changed. The two other diamonds roll their eyes at Yellow whom only shrugged. They knew she was right.
All three of the diamonds then shifted their attention back to the beloved gem before them wary for the journey ahead of her. Spinel smiles nervously at the over baring women as she rubs the back of her neck. Though she lived with them for a year, the pink gem was not the biggest fan of the diamonds overprotective nature. It could be quite exhausting and honestly a bit embarrassing. Most days she felt like their child when she was not being their best friend. Even so, Spinel loves them dearly, but this trip is necessary for the sake of her sanity. Just the thought of sleeping in without entertaining anyone sounded amazing to her. Spinel never knew she would miss having her own space, at least this time she gets to choose when she wants to be alone.
Spinel steps onto the warp padded preparing herself to leave the palace.
"Don't worry about me my diamonds; you won't even notice that I'm gone." She says teasingly trying to bring some light to the situation. Though the diamonds didn't find it amusing. Yellow's eyes sharpen as she crosses her arms over her chest.
"Was that self-deprecation?" Yellow questions making Spinel straightening up her posture at her tone. Crap. Blue eyes widen as she lowers herself closer to Spinel with concerned in her hues. Blue gently strokes the top of Spinel's head as she spoke tenderly.
"Of course we will notice you are gone, we love you Spinel." Blue says softly making the small gem feel guilty at her poor choice of words. In her defense she didn't mean for it to come out as self deprecation, they just took it that way as usual. Yellow then glances over at White as she "mutters" to her.
"Do you think she is ready to be on her own? Should we send one of our pearls with her?" Yellow asks White, who seems to be considering the thought. Maybe she still needed more supervision.
Spinel felt panic swell in her chest as she gazed up at her diamonds with pleading magenta eyes.
"I'm ready! I promise no more self-deprecating jokes!" She says. Spinel appreciates that her diamonds had spent all their time helping her build up her confidence. It was not by much, a year barely made a dent to the damage of six thousand years caused, but it was a start. She was able to keep her abandonment issues under control since she literally spends every single day with them, but she had some minor setbacks. Spinel thanked the stars that Steven was able to convince them that she is ready to go back to Earth for a mini-vacation and to take a break from diamond duties. There was no way she was going to let this opportunity pass her by. Spinel clasped her hands together and enlarged them as she gave the diamonds her best doe eyes.
"Please." She mutters meekly instantly making White and Blue melt under her glossy eyes.
"Ok, ok, just be safe and you can come home whenever you like!" White concedes childishly, how could she say no to that face! Yellow scoffs as she rolls her eyes agitated at how easily she gave in. This is Pink all over again.
Spinel smiles widely as she nods her head. She quickly waves at her family as a bright light shined from beneath her.
"See you soon my diamonds, bye!" And just like that she had vanished from their sight. In a blink of an eye Spinel was in the middle of Little Homeworld. It was bustling with different types of gems and a few humans here and there. The building also varies in sizes and colors, her eyes shined at the beautifully crafted town. The atmosphere here felt warm and cheery, the sky is bright blue with birds flocking above. It was nothing like the dark cold space at Homeworld. Releasing a heavy breath her shoulders slouches low to the ground, her arms spiral to the floor feeling at ease.
"SPINEL!" Someone cried out making said gem whip around behind her. Her smile softens as she spotted the main Crystal Gems. Steven was waving animatedly as he rushes over to her with Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst behind him. Spinel nerves began to take over as they grew closer, she still felt a large amount of guilt for what she did to them. Even though they reassured her multiple times that all is forgiven during their visits to Homeworld. Nevertheless, she still felt a shred of doubt, but she pushed that aside as Steven yanks her into a hug giggling happily as always.
"It's so good to finally meet up again! This is going to be a fun summer with you around!" he says enthusiastically. The gems smirked at his upbeat energy, they were all grateful that even though Steven is getting older, he was still the go lucky kid they all love. Spinel hums contently as she pulled away, physical contact still made her anxious. Spinel waves at the rest of the Crystal Gems, each of them giving her their own unique warm welcome. The pink gem clears her throat as she looked around Little Homeworld, her orbs then looked over to the hilltop where her injector used to be planted. It was no longer a toxic cesspool, but a beautiful greenie that added to the scenery of this peaceful town. In addition, if she looked hard enough, the first crater her injector left was in the shape of a upside down heart much like her gem. It seems so long ago now, so much as changed but yet at the same time everything still feels the same. At least to her.
Spinel glances at her friends and their new outfits, then she looks down at herself. Maybe thats why she feels the same. Her appearance did not change much; she still has her spiky pigtails and the three lines running down her cheeks. The only differences are she exchanged her puffy shorts and her large pointy shoes for something more casual and comfortable. She also stretched herself a few inches taller, experimenting with her height. Her eyes sadden, as she looks back at Steven, who is now seventeen years old.
"Can't believe it's been a year since I've been here, this place is beautiful" She muses still remembering when the small town was only 83.7 percent complete. OR in her case 56.2 percent complete since she did destroy most of it trying to help Steven get Garnets memories back. She really did track disaster everywhere she went?
"Yeah remind me to dispose of the pizza cutter." Peridot voice chimes in as she, Lapis, and Bismuth approached the team. The three gems gave the pink gem either a small smile or a shy wave. She returned their greetings with a wave of her own. It will take some time for her to adjust being around them all at once again.
"Hey, guys ready for the show?" Steven asked the three breaking the awkward silence that fell upon them.
"Yeah, let's start heading over so we can get good seats." Bismuth suggested as she began to lead the way. The Crystal Gem's follow close behind as Spinel and Steven walked behind the pack.
Spinel stood close to Steven, still feeling a bit awkward with the rest of the gems.
"Show?" she asks him, Steven nods.
"Yeah, one of the gems created a Broadway theater so gems and humans can sing, dance, act and she is a really good friend of ours. I'm sure you'll like her!" Steven said positively, his smile never faltering. Spinel smiles ever so softly as she held her arms closed to her body.
"Ok sounds like fun." She mutters.

*//𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒆: introducing 𝐘𝐄𝐎 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐔𝐍!
Tumblr media
hi petals 🥰 i'm so thrilled to be here with you all and bringing you this gullible little lioness!i promise i'll get to all ims soon, but my alias is penny, my pronouns are she/her and i'm in the est tz! this is my bby misun - the very soft-spoken principal of kwangsook academy. despite the shady way she ended up with it, she quite loves her job, as well as all the students and faculty at kwangsook :D i will have her full bio up sometime soon, but for now, you can find some relevant links and some bullet points under the cut! if you'd like to plot something out, feel free to hit the heart so i know and i'll come buzz you in ims! tw - brief mentions of death cw - workplace affair
statistics. // bio. // headcanons. // plots. // musing blog. // pinterest.
━  ❖ (kim ahyoung “yura,” cis female, she/her) hey thank you for coming to town hall to update your information yeo misun! you’re a citizen correct? good to know! are you enjoying yourself around yunhwa? you’ve been staying here two years right? i’m glad! remind me, are you born on 14/12/1992? we’re so lucky to have someone so dedicated around as a principal at kwangsook academy even if sometimes you can be credulous. hope to see you around the house #3034, hwesakgu!
born and raised in busan, the city was imbued in misun's veins. she was in love with how the highest skyscrapers mingled with the clouds on overcast days and how life always seemed to be racing by. her childhood was a happy one, as she gained a younger brother and sister along the way.
her mother was a science teacher and her father a commercial fisherman at the local dock. it wasn't uncommon for him to be gone for weeks at a time in order to bring an income into the household, so misun was often left in charge of her younger siblings. it was something she thrived at honestly, as she'd always had this nurturing way about her. she didn't even argue with her siblings much, she mostly just played peacekeeper when they fought amongst themselves.
she ran through the typical cycle of dream occupations as any child would. she had a particularly tight grasp on astronomy for awhile, but she also always appreciated her mother's work in the field of education.
misun could be be rather mild-mannered, but she loved to run free in the yard, as if the fence that boxed it in existed in another realm entirely. as she grew older, she picked up several hobbies that always seemed to lend to a tranquil state of mind, as it was her favorite feeling in the world. painting and surfing were two of her favorite things to do, once she learned the basics of them. some of her most cherished memories of her father were the trips they took to the beach whenever he was home for the week so that he could see what she had learned for himself. she'd never forget the proud smile he wore.
[tw:death] she was fourteen when her father's boat sank in the korea strait, he and all of his crew being lost in the tragedy. they were at least able to hold a funeral for him; and misun always knew it was something that could happen in the logical side of her brain - but that was rarely the side she wanted to agree with. it was extremely hard on the family for his already too brief presence to have lessened to nothing, and it was years before any sense of normalcy was felt. [end tw]
it was fortunate that misun was so prone to being a parental figure in the household, as she was able to help her mother with her brother and sister while the woman grieved. it was simply in misun's nature to forego her own feelings to give another what they needed.
there was a desperate need for the lost income to be restored in some way, as her father had been the primary breadwinner for the family. her mother's salary as a teacher simply wasn't going to hold four people afloat in the city for very long. misun spent years juggling her workload in school along with working part-time, putting her all into not only bringing home good grades that her mom could be proud of, but helping to keep the family's bills paid, as well.
by the time she graduated, misun had excelled so much in her studies, that she was offered two different scholarships, both of which would have easily covered the expenses of attaining her degree, a miraculous offer for the family who had no way to afford college for any of the three children in it.
the college experience was everything misun had hoped for; a chance to better herself, find herself and take a bit of a break from the full workload she'd been carrying for so long. she still worked part time, so that she could slowly add to the college funds of her brother and sister while she attended school herself, but it was nice to have such a heavy focus on her studies.
she'd come to find that she wanted to go beyond teaching. she enjoyed the thought of administrative duties in the school system; fighting the good fight so that students could always have the help they needed to prosper. it wasn't just about filling their brains with meaningless facts they'd forget over a summer anymore - it was about making sure they had the tools to make it in life.
while she did receive some brief classroom training as a teacher in her initial transition, once misun got her master's degree, she was able to fill the position of principal at one of the schools in the city. she fell in love with it immediately, as it fit right in with her facilitating nature. she had a knack for keeping the peace around the school and making sure things ran smoothly so that all the teachers and other faculty could do their jobs properly.
she even had a positive working relationship with the local school board and her superiors, one of whom seemed to have taken quite a shine to her. he'd find any opportunity to speak with her, even about the silliest things. it was quite odd for misun to see him go back and forth from a very personable man to a very stuffy superintendent on an almost weekly basis, but there was definitely something charming about him.
before she really knew it, he'd swept misun off her feet entirely. suddenly they were sharing their lunch breaks at romantic cafes and making excuses to see each other during inconvenient times. misun always saw the best in people, and the things she saw in him made her feel love on an intense plane. she felt special with him; wanted. she might have said he'd broken down all her barriers, if she'd ever bothered to put them up.
as sweet as the feelings were, she supposed she knew the relationship was inappropriate considering that he was practically her boss. still, she didn't want to let go of the happiness she felt, and that she thought he had felt to.
it wasn't long before he informed her of his suspicions that some of his co-workers had an inkling he was having an affair with one of the school faculty members in the area. he seemed to know it was only a matter of time before the truth would come out, so he would cover his tracks. he would make sure no one ever found out.
initially, they were only meant to 'cool things off' a bit so that the suspicion would die down. admittedly, if word got out about them, misun knew it would be quite the scandal, and he may have to step down from his position. it seemed like the logical thing to do to lay low for awhile.
she didn't see the next part coming, though; apparently it had been decided that she would take the hit entirely, in order to save them both. her superintendent had crafted the brilliant plan to transfer her to kwangsook academy out in the small town of yunhwa and away from the city that she'd always known and loved. she wouldn't have to worry, he'd told her. the job was all but hers after the glowing recommendation he gave her. 'thank goodness, right? now you won't have to face any humiliation.'
she was confused, hurt and more angry than she had ever been in her life. as lovely as yunhwa was, it wasn't her home back in busan. it wasn't her school district. why was it her life that had been uprooted, and hers alone? was he suffering any undesired changes in his life in the city? did he even care at all that she was gone?
still though, misun's resilience remained steadfast, even after her heart was broken. as bitter as she was about the forced move, she'd been given a job to do, and she was going to going to do it right. getting used to the small town lifestyle has been a major adjustment for her, but she's not really one to complain about her circumstances.
two years on, and she remains in yunhwa, functioning as the head of kwangsook academy. as lost as she'd felt initially, she's come to fit in at the school at last. she's a rather amicable person who gets along well with the other teachers and staff members. she's always willing to lend a helping hand when it's needed, and is extremely dedicated to making sure the school has everything it needs in the way of funding, materials, healthy lunches and meaningful extracurriculars. as unassuming as misun can be sometimes, she's very protective of her students!

Fraxus Week 2020: Day 5 - Friends To Lovers
Tumblr media
Summary: After a crappy post-college first year, Laxus jumped at the opportunity to leave town for a week for a road trip with his friends. He intended it just to be a week away with his friends, but when he meets an unfamiliar stranger, the vacation turns into something much more. [Fraxus Multichapter]
This is the fifth part of my Fraxus Week admissions, hosted by @fuckyeahfraxus. This year I’ve made the prompts into a single multi-chapter fic. You can see all the chapters in the Masterpost linked below. Hope you enjoy.
You can read this on Fanfiction, Archive of our Own, and under the cut. Read the other chapters from this masterlist.
Chapter Five – Talks at The Canyon
"Okay, what is up with you two?"
Laxus looked towards Bickslow with a guilty expression. He had hoped that he'd hidden the awkwardness between Freed and himself better, but obviously he'd failed. In retrospect, Laxus probably should have been suspicious when Bickslow insisted that Freed be the one to fill the RV with gas this time, rather than doing it himself. Still, just because Bickslow knew about how awkward he was behaving, it didn't mean Laxus had to explain why.
"What d'you mean?" He asked, voice a little too timid for his liking.
"I mean you two slunk out of the motel room this morning and wouldn't even look at each other, and you've not spoken to each other all day," Bickslow listed off, and Laxus realised they really hadn't hidden their awkwardness well. "So what exactly happened?"
"It's nothing," Laxus insisted.
"Bull crap," Bickslow snapped. "Look, if you two had a fight or something you can't keep it a secret. Ever's gonna get it out of ya if I don't, so you might as well tell me now."
That was probably true, both of his friends were annoyingly talented at getting information out of someone when they needed to. But Laxus felt it was probably for the best that he kept the events of last night to himself, and accomplished that by looking straight ahead out of the front window in a childish attempt to bore Bickslow to a point where he would leave him alone. Bickslow raised both of his eyebrows in disbelief at Laxus' actions, waiting.
They both sat in silence for a few moments, and Laxus almost thought that he had won. Bickslow let out a huff of annoyance, and Laxus practically prayed that the man would leave him alone so that he wouldn't have to relive what he'd done.
"Laxus," Bickslow said in a slightly pleading voice; he too was being childish then. "We're gonna be at the canyon today. It's gonna be really awkward hiking around a big hole if you two are arguing. I can't even make big hole jokes because I'll be scared of making things worse somehow. Just tell me."
"It's…" Laxus thought for a moment. "I did something stupid."
There. That was something. Perhaps it would placate the man.
"Stupid how?"
"Just stupid," Laxus sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
From the corner of his eye, Laxus could see that Bickslow was looking at him with more concern than interest now. Maybe it was best to tell him; the guy was pretty sympathetic when he wanted to be. Hell, the only reason they were on this road trip was because he wanted his friends to feel better. Maybe he could offer Laxus some advice.
"I kissed him last night," Laxus admitted with an exhale.
"Oh," Bickslow said, and he was clearly not expecting that. "And… he didn't kiss back. He pushed you off?"
"No, he kissed back," Laxus closed his eyes as he spoke.
"And that's bad because…"
"We got drunk, raided the mini-bar," Laxus confessed, and he saw Bickslow's brow furrow at the admission, but he didn't say anything. "We watched crap TV and then started talking. And he told me that his ex'd cheated on him, that's why they broke up, and that he's feeling crappy. And I was kinda buzzed, y'know, I kinda…"
"Kissed him?" Bickslow finished.
"Yeah, basically," Laxus sighed. "I mean I said some shit about how I would have treated him if I were him, and how he didn't deserve to get cheated on. Then I kissed him, and he kissed me back."
Bickslow seemed to be thinking, as his gaze went a little distant. This had always been something that Laxus had appreciated about the other man; even despite his hyper personality, he was actually quite a thoughtful person, and Laxus knew that he was thinking of the best thing to say. And any advice that he might have would probably be helpful, even if the feeling of waiting for him to say something was making Laxus feel sick.
"Right," Bickslow eventually said. "Well, kissing a guy while drunk isn't your best move, it's probably not your worst either. I mean if he kissed ya back then he's probably interested, and he's been stealing glances as much as you have. What happened after?"
"I pulled away, went back to my bed, turned my back on him and pretended I was asleep," Laxus muttered.
"Laxus," Bickslow snapped, and slapped his bicep.
"I ain't proud of it," Laxus tried to defend himself. "But it was just like, when I kissed him I got sober. Like someone poured cold water over me. And I realised that I barely know the guy, that he just got cheated on, and that the last thing he's gonna want is some random guy kissing him. and then being trapped with the same guy for days."
"You think maybe he might have had an opinion on that?" Bickslow asked incredulously.
"I panicked," Laxus groaned. "I was embarrassed. I felt like I took advantage of him or something. Shutting myself off seemed like the best thing to do."
"Well you're gonna have ta talk about it, baby," Bickslow said soothingly. "Because if you don't, you're gonna end up regretting it, and the rest of the trip is gonna be really fucking painful for us all. Especially the two of you."
"I know," Laxus sighed.
He glanced out of the window to see that Evergreen and Freed were talking outside, no doubt having a similar conversation, and Laxus deflated slightly. He would talk to the other man, because he really would regret it if he didn't. It had been quite some time since Laxus had felt like this with a man, and he knew better than to just throw the feeling away because of embarrassment, and that he shouldn't give up.
And when Freed happened to glance up, and they caught each other's eyes before both turning away, Laxus knew that he had to talk to him soon.
~~~
"It's erm," Bickslow began. "It's kinda breath-taking."
"It is," Evergreen said, and both Freed and Laxus nodded in agreement.
They had arrived at the Grand Canyon, and had been given the unhindered view of the landscape. They could see it all, and the cloudless blue sky only added to the majesty of the place. There was something oddly humbling about the view, as if it were putting everything into perspective for Laxus, and the blonde couldn't help but release that his embarrassment about the previous night was so utterly stupid that he physically cringed at himself.
He had turned his back on the man. Literally looked away from him because of his stupid decision to kiss him. He had acted like a damn kid in a crappy high school TV show. It all seemed so pathetic now, Laxus could barely handle it.
His gaze fell on Freed again.
God was he handsome.
"Well, we ain't getting any younger, so we better start walkin' if we wanna get around the place by the end of the day," Bickslow proclaimed. "Come on Freedo Justineo."
"Oh please don't start calling me that," Freed requested, and Laxus jolted at the sound of his voice.
"You and I are gonna forge ahead and leave those assholes in the dust," Bickslow grinned as he slung an arm over Freed's shoulder. "Because Ever is stupid and she decided to bring only heeled shoes to a damn canyon, and Laxus is a muscle head who doesn't have any stamina and he'll be exhausted by the time we're out of the parking lot. So off we go, into the pit."
Bickslow was marching off, essentially dragging Freed with him, before the man could make any real complaints. That left Laxus with Evergreen, who was looking at him expectantly. When he glanced down, he noticed she was wearing flat shoes.
"Those ain't heels," He commented.
"So you're not completely stupid," Evergreen said, a little harsher than Laxus liked.
"What's that tone for?" Laxus asked indignantly.
"You kissed him, didn't say anything for the rest of the night and then pretended to be asleep," She huffed, crossing her arms. "You even turned the damn lamp off. What were you thinking?"
"I was drunk," Laxus tried to explain.
"You've been drunk a lot of times around me and you've never been so stupid before," She chastised him, and Laxus had half a mind to walk off. He would have, had Evergreen not been right. "I get that you might have panicked, or that you even regretted it for some reason, but is that really the best thing you could think of doing. Just ignoring him isn't going to get rid of the problem, if anything it's going to put a massive focus on it because of how much effort you're putting into ignoring it."
"I know," Laxus groaned. "And I'm gonna talk to him about it. Gonna apologise to him."
"And say what exactly?" Evergreen asked.
Laxus hadn't actually thought of that. After speaking with Bickslow, the rest of the trip to the canyon had been spent convincing himself that he had the courage to speak to the man despite the bubble of nervous embarrassment that filled him when he so much as looked at him. He had been so focused on getting the courage to say anything to him, he had almost forgotten that what he said to him had to be meaningful and impactful.
Evergreen apparently saw the struggle Laxus was going through, and her posture changed to something less annoyed. She placed a hand on Laxus' arm in a comforting way, patting it softly. Laxus was glad she didn't seem angry at him anymore.
"What am I gonna say to him?" Laxus mused aloud.
"I don't know," Evergreen said carefully. "But I think that, before you start thinking about that, you need to be sure of what you actually want with Freed. If you wanna be friends with him, go out with him, never see him after the week ends. Because if you don't know that then talking about it isn't going to help anything."
Laxus knew that. He knew he had to know what he wanted. And he basically did know what he wanted. But he probably couldn't have that, because of one big problem.
"The guy was just cheated on-"
"I know," Evergreen interrupted. "But I'm not asking you what the gallant thing to do is. I'm asking you what you, Laxus Dreyar, want with Freed. What the ideal end to the week would be for you."
Laxus sighed to himself. "I'd wanna be with him, I guess. But I don't have a clue if he's ready or not-"
"That's his problem, Laxus," Evergreen assured him. "If he wants to start dating someone or he doesn't, that's nothing to do with you. But if he is ready, and I think that he might be, then you need to let him know you're interested. He's not broken, and he's not fragile. If anything he's pissed off, partly about being cheated on and partly because he knew exactly why you closed yourself off last night."
"You think?" Laxus asked, deflating.
"He's a smart guy, Laxus. Smartest one here," Evergreen shrugged. "Look, I'm not saying that you have to have a wedding planned out or anything, but I think it'll be good for you to think about what Freed might be for you. And now's as good a time as any to think, because as nice as this place is, walking around it is going to get very boring very quickly. So just take today, think about what you want, and think about how you're going to tell Freed about it. The rest is up to the two of you, okay?"
"Okay," Laxus nodded.
He already knew, in his gut, what he wanted from Freed. Now he just had to convince himself that it was the right thing for the both of them.
~~~
It was dark now, but they were still at the canyon. Multiple lights illuminated the landscape, and stars shimmered down on them all. Laxus looked at the RV with a small amount of trepidation, nerves bubbling in his stomach as he walked forward.
All day he'd been thinking about what Evergreen and Bickslow had spoken to him about. He'd thought about what he might want with Freed – if it could be something serious or casual, if it was just a crush he could get over or something bigger than that, if he could get past the embarrassment of the previous night and get over his pride to explain that sometimes, when it came to his emotions, he was a fucking idiot. His entire mind had been a mess of possibilities, and most of the day Laxus had felt almost sick.
And then an image stuck him, and image of a possible future. He thought about him and Freed, watching TV together in a similar way they had the night before. They were sharing a pizza, and when Freed leaned up and kissed him, Laxus had kissed back happily.
After that, more possibilities hit him. Each just as tempting as the last.
The two of them at the beach. Freed would have been reading for hours, and Laxus would have slung him over his shoulder and taken him to the water, making some joke about how he wanted the man's attention.
Or the first time it snowed in Magnolia one year. They might have gone to a Christmas market, eating the Russian food that was served and enjoying themselves.
Or a lazy breakfast together, eating in Laxus' kitchen side by side as they struggled to keep their eyes open.
It was then that Laxus had been left with no doubt, and all his questions had been answered. He didn't want something casual with Freed, he wanted a full and loving relationship. It wasn't just a crush, it was more akin to infatuation, and Laxus didn't care that he had only known the man for a short time. And he didn't give a damn about his pride because Freed was worth more than Laxus' dignity. And hopefully, if Freed knew that Laxus wasn't just an emotionally incompetent idiot, he might give him a chance to make his desires come true.
All he had to do was approach the man.
They had all decided that, after spending the day hiking, they would spend the night at the canyon's parking lot. As the night was still warm, Freed had chosen that he would read his novel outside. Well, that's what he claimed, what he actually meant was he was going to read on the rooftop of the RV. Taking a breath to steady himself, Laxus took the ladder in hand and climbed it.
"Hey," He greeted, and Freed looked towards him. "Mind if I join you?"
"By all means," Freed made a motion towards Laxus.
After stepping off the small ladder, Laxus shifted so that he was sitting beside Freed. If the man looked radiant in the sunlight, he looked positively gorgeous in the moonlight. The darker and cooler colours seemed to just accent everything that was perfect about the man. From his striking features to his slightly paler than normal skin, it all seemed to be just a little more beautiful in the moonlight. It made the conversation Laxus wanted to have both harder to start, and more important to have as soon as possible.
"Look, I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for what happened last night," Laxus began. "Not that I kissed ya. Well, kind of actually. Not that I'm sorry about kissing ya, more that I'm sorry I kissed ya in the way that I did. That's not what I'm trying to say. What I'm trying to say… what I need to say is…"
Laxus cussed himself silently. He had known what he had wanted to say, how come it was so hard to get the actual words out.
"I think what you need is a minute to gather your thoughts a little better," Freed said, a pleasant teasing tone in his voice.
"Yeah," Laxus nodded. "Sorry, I thought that I knew what I was gonna say. Turns out I don't."
Freed chuckled, placing the book down and turning so he was looking at Laxus face on, sitting cross legged with a patient expression on his face. Laxus wasn't entirely sure that he had earned such an expression, given how he had treated Freed the night before, but Evergreen had insisted that Freed understood his actions and wasn't angry at him. Well, nothing that he couldn't fix if he acted quickly at least.
"Okay, what I meant to say was, I'm sorry I kissed you in the way I did last night," Laxus began after thinking for a moment. "We were both drunk, and my judgment wasn't great. You had just been pretty emotionally vulnerable with me, and for some fucking reason I thought it was the right time to try and kiss you. And I'm sorry about that."
"You don't need to-"
"I do," Laxus cut him off, making eye contact with him. "Look, I ain't good with feelings and crap. I normally get panicked and awkward, and I apparently sometimes do stupid stuff like this. And the only reason I can get away with it is because people call me out on my bullshit. You seem like the kinda guy who can do that, so don't be kind when you don't need to."
"Asking me not to show restraint can be a dangerous thing, Laxus," Freed said with a chuckle in his tone. "But I understand that. I have a habit of closing myself off and not discussing things. Bickslow's words, not mine."
"They been givin' you the third degree today too?" Laxus asked.
"They're annoyingly good at it, aren't they?" Freed laughed, before smiling at Laxus pleasantly. "I do forgive you, Laxus. Admittedly, ignoring each other isn't what I would have wanted the end of our first kiss to be, but I can't deny I've done idiotic things when overwhelmed. And I understand it, so don't worry yourself about it."
"Thanks," Laxus nodded a little.
He looked towards the other man, and felt something of an ache in his stomach. The fact Freed could forgive him in such an understanding way made Laxus feel warm inside in a way he couldn't describe. In Laxus' past attempts at relationships, often his clumsy attempts at understanding and dealing with his emotions had left to arguments. Rightfully so, Laxus knew that in hindsight. But the fact that Freed was willing to understand that it hadn't been malicious was something of a comfort that Laxus couldn't help but crave more of.
"There's a little more," Laxus confessed. "It's erm, well, the reason I acted like I did after I kissed you is that, well, I didn't just feel like I'm taking advantage of you. It felt like I kinda, I dunno, wasted my first kiss with ya," Laxus blushed, and averted his gaze. "I don't… the kiss wasn't just a drunk impulse. It's erm… it's something I wanted to do while sober but didn't have the balls."
God, he really needed to get better at talking.
"And the fact I kissed ya at such a bad time, kinda scared me. Because if I was thinking I'm a dickhead for kissing you at that time, I thought you'd think the same and-"
Freed interrupted Laxus' ramblings by leaning over, cupping Laxus' chin with his thumb and finger, and bringing his closer. Laxus' eyes widened, and a moment later he was being kissed.
It was magical.
Laxus' memory of their drunken kiss was hazy at best, and was overshadowed by the regret and embarrassment. But in this moment, he felt engrossed by Freed. As if the two of them were the only people of importance, and he was almost overwhelmed by the sensation of Freed. The movement of Freed's lips against his chapped ones, the calloused hand on his thigh Freed was using to keep balance, the sight of the man's eyes closing softly in a fluttering motion.
At the movement, Laxus closed his own eyes and allowed himself to be dragged further into the lure of Freed's kiss. It was perfect.
When they eventually pulled apart, they both were a little breathless. They kept their faces only an inch apart, and Laxus was blushing slightly. He had kissed Freed while sober. Freed, the man who had captured Laxus' attention and seemed reluctant to let it go, had just kissed him. And it had been perfect.
"Does this mean that-" Laxus began, but Freed shushed him with a smile.
"We can discuss things after the trip is done," Freed promised. "Right now, I think we've earned the right to enjoy each other."
Freed was kissing him before he could argue. Not that he would have anyway.

Henry David Thoreux is quoted as saying, 'Not until we are lost do we find ourselves'. How can five people with differing life experiences, walk into a room as wounded, forgotten souls, and together, discover who they are. If ever the fates aligned, it happened on that particular Saturday. _
Life sometimes gives us what we need... Through hardships we find growth
Saturday 4:00 PM Old Palace Library
Sitting on the floor of the old library, an 18 year old with a cold heart and distaste for the crown. His father gunned down years ago by an assasin's bullet and a mother who left he and his sister, to return to the States. A war was waged in him years ago and bitterness won. All he knew now was trouble, booze and anger. He is the commoner.
Sitting to his left is the stunning Duchess of Lythikos. Nearly 18 herself, she has been raised by the King since she was a child. Her parents, traitors to the crown, died atempting to overthrow the monarchy. Contantine has always treated her like an enemy and took every opportunity to degrade her. The only constant in her life was a prince, whom she loves, but, he has never returned her affections in a manner she wants. She has built an impermiable wall of defense around herself for protection, that includes degrading others for self-preservation. She is known as the bitch to many.
Next to her, a young 17 year old from Ramsford with a heart of gold and the life of any party. On the outside, he is funny, outgoing and, perhaps, too kind for his own good. On the inside, he grieves the losses in his life, both in body and spirit. His inabilty to live up to the Beaumont expectations, weighs on him heavily. He sees himself as a failure.
Also, the new Crown Prince of Cordonia. He will be 18 tomorrow and at that time will become bethrothed to his brother's former fiancee, though, his heart now belongs to another. He has wished death would find him so many times recently that he tried and failed to make it a reality. The burdens that he was left with when his brother abdicated, is too much to bear. His father has caused irreparable hurt, physically and emotionally, that fear, now courses through his veins like wildfire. There are no disappointments allowed when you're The Heir.
Next to him, a perky, 17 year old girl, saved from the streets. She has big dreams of moving to New York and making it big. She is held back by a dangerous, family life that included more abuse than many should withstand. Is a girl with her background, naive enough to believe she can save her new dream from being robbed of his? After all, its said that trash breeds trash.
"Why is everyone sitting on the floor?", a seemingly gleeful and renewed Liam asked as he joined them.
A weary eyed Drake rubbed his hand across the back of his neck, "Trust me...its a long story".
Riley leaned over and playfully tugged at Drake's foot, "You seem somewhat calmer than you did earlier, what happened?".
Maxwell couldn't help himself as he grinned, "Let's just say....well....we got totally fucked up."
Liam and Riley looked between the three, all appearing quite relaxed, still eating on the last remnants of sandwiches and fruit the maid brought them an hour ago.
Olivia, now recovered from her earlier high, couldn't help but notice a change in Liam. Knowing he was with Riley the past four hours left a sour taste in her mouth.
"So Riley", Olivia began, "Maxwell tells us he found you on the streets...will you be returning to your park bench tonight or do you think fucking Liam once is enough for another free night at the palace".
"Olivia!", Liam, quickly shot up, dumbfounded by her callousness.
Olivia looked at him with shock, "What? Hmm, Liam...she's obviously looking for a meal ticket and you are falling right into her grubby little hands".
"You're such a bitch!" A furious Riley yelled back, both fists gripped tightly together.
"Damn straight", she sniped.
Drake laid back on the floor with his hands cupped behind his head, "You just can't stop yourself can you Olivia?"
She raised an eyebrow and straightened her posture, "Who asked you...like your opinion matters anyway".
The air became thick with tension and poisonous words. Olivia was hurting and holding on for dear life. The only person who ever seemed to give a damn about her was slipping away fast.
A normally flippant Maxwell, tried to find a balance, an understanding of what was taking place. "Olivia, why do you berate everyone? Riley's never done anything to you".
Her beady, green eyes readily placed a target directly on him, "Like I care what some moron like you thinks. When you have to deal with the bullshit I go through everyday, then by all means judge away, until then, fucking mind your own business".
Maxwell jumped up and stood with a demeanor that suggested Olivia found his breaking point. With a raised voice and a face painted as red as her hair, "The bullshit you deal with? Your bullshit?...What about my bullshit? What about Drake and Liam and Riley's bullshit? Are you so fucking closed off and hardened, that you don't see we're all dealing with nothing but bullshit?...I have two dead parents, just like you,  and a brother who has a stick so far up his ass...", his voice started to break as he rubbed a stinging tear from his eye, "...just...quit acting like its only you".
Riley stood up and gave Maxwell a comforting embrace, while Drake continued to lay back, eyes closed, struggling with his own thoughts.
Liam noted Olivia's composure, she was tense and hollow, but, her eyes spoke volumes. She was fighting herself, the walls were crumbling and she was trying with all of her might to keep them standing. If there was ever a time to get into her heart, it was now.
Liam raised his knees and wrapped his arms around them, resting his chin down.  "We're supposed to write an essay about who we think we are....well, who are we? I sure as hell don't know who I am anymore...looking around at each of you and hearing Maxwell's words, tells me no one else does either".
Riley and Maxwell sat back down with the group, everyone except Drake pondering Liam's words in their minds, but, no one speaking.
Liam raised his head again and lowered his legs, crossing them in front of him. "Okay, I'll go first then....I'm suffocating, I'm losing my mind, at the end of a short rope. I hate my father, my life...who I have to be", he stopped for a second to prepare himself for what followed, "I wanted to die last night, even tried swallowing pills".
He grabs everyone's attention, including Olivia who saw him this morning, at the mention of the prince trying to commit suicide. "Yeah... I wanted it all to end...I just needed, peace".
Drake sits up, claps his hands mockingly and glares at Liam, "Boo..fucking.. hoo..must be real hard to have the entire damn country bowing at your ever present whim...so spare me the sob stories your majesty".
Olivia raises her hand back and slaps Drake across the face, screaming, "You weren't there this morning....you don't know what happens to him, to me... every day is a nightmare where the King dictates who we are or else."
Drake rubs the stinging on his reddened cheeks, seething, "Yeah, you’re right, I wasn't there, I was stuck in a damn basement apartment alone because my father died protecting your sorry, rich ass's and my mother lost her mind because of it"
Dead air filled the room.
"Sounds like your dad was a hero Drake...my real dad bailed before I was even born", Riley mused.
"Yeah Drake, at least your dad didn't die on a friggin boat with a cocaine stained nose, partying his ass off, while your mother was at home dying....it sucks I know, but, of the five of us, your dad was... pretty awesome", Maxwell said with a sympathetic smile.
A hero_? _That word caused a flood of emotions that ran straight to his yielded heart. He was breaking down too, especially when he caught a glimpse of Liam, a member of the royal family, nodding in agreement, showing genuine appreciation for Jackson Walker.
He ran a hand through his hair and held onto it with a tight grip. He tried to hold the moisture that formed like pools in his flustered, brown eyes, but, they poured out anyway. Even Olivia looked at him, envious of the legacy Jackson left for Drake and his sister to be proud of. No one else in the room could say the same of their fathers.
Drake covered his eyes and sniffled loudly, his lips quivering uncontrollably, "I miss my dad", he wailed out.
Maxwell and Riley quickly went to him, rubbing and patting him on the back. Liam crawled over to Drake, holding his head to his chest.
Liam looked at him while Drake tried to stifle his sobs. "Drake, I'd like to personally thank, on behalf of myself and the crown, the son of the man who saved me and my families life".
Drake had held his feelings in for so long, it felt surprisingly gratifying to finally release them. He thought to himself-_Fucking Bastien was right. _He lifted himself up, with everyone except Olivia following his lead. He wiped his wet face on the inside of shirt, "It's all I ever wanted, just someone to appreciate him...to care about what he did". Liam then pulled him into a hug, "I do Drake, I really do", as he clapped his back.
Drake returned a half smile, looking away for moment before turning to face Liam again, "You're already ten times the King your father is.".
Drake inhaled deeply and asked for a minute alone. He walked down the stairs and sat on the bottom step attempting to make sense of everything that just happened.
Olivia, remained still, then grabbed her purse and followed him. She sat down next to him, but, he didn't acknowledge her presence. She reached inside her purse and took  Drake's hand. He watched as she slowly dropped his fathers pocket watch into his palm.
Stunned, he stared at her in disbelief, "how did you...?"
She looked off in the distance, sighing, before meeting his bewildered look, "A courier dropped it off yesterday. It was found in an alley and had the Royal crest on it. Constantine didn't know who it belonged to and tossed it aside, but, I did....I took it and was going to use it against you".
He looked at the watch, clutching it with both hands as if his life depended on, "That's a real fucked up thing to do, even for you".
She swallowed hard, "Yeah...it is...I'm sorry".
Drake quirked his brows, "Did I really just get the Duchess of Lythikos to apologize to a poor commoner like me?".
She smiled and playfully swiped at his arm, "Yes, but, don't expect any more". She then leaned over, speaking in a low voice, "Can I tell you something?".
Drake squinted his eyes, skeptical, "What?"
Olivia looked around, "I actually had a lot of fun with you today, even when you were an asshole....banter aside, I can't say I've ever been on a drug run, climbed in an air duct, fallen through the ceiling and then got very....very stoned", she chortled.
He chuckled back, "Yeah, I never expected to do any of those things, especially with you".
"Walker?", she asked, "am I anything besides a bitch...I mean, who do I say I am?".
He thought for a moment before cracking a smile at her, "You're still a bitch....but, like a bad ass, take no prisoners kind, but, you're also one tough girl...you have to deal with a lot of Constantine's shit...that take's guts.".
She stood up, absorbing his words, "I was told as little girl...If you can breathe, you can stand and if you can stand, you can fight....So, I will just keep on fighting", she smiled, ruffled his hair and walked back upstairs.
Drake shook his head in disbelief, "unbelieveable", he said to himself as his enemy just became a friend. He followed her back up.
Liam came up behind Olivia and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her cheek. He knew what she had just done for Drake and was proud of her. He asked her to apologize to Riley, in which she hesitated. "She's the one Livvie", he told her. The words stung, but, she was also glad to see him happy for once..
Olivia apologized and she and Riley sat together talking about make up and different hairstyles Riley could try. She told her she was returning to Lythikos soon and if she ever needed anything to let her know.
Drake and Maxwell caught Liam up on why there was a hole in the ceiling. They each would reminisce about their childhood adventures together. Every now and then, Liam would peak over at Riley, just to see her.
The group made their way down the steps and gathered around Liam, sitting at a table, preparing to write the letter. He looked up at them, "So, who do we say we are?".
Maxwell slumped over on the table, "It's been a long day, I just wanna be Maxwell."
They each looked at one another and knew what they wanted.
"I'm just Riley".
"I guess, I'm just Olivia".
"Drake"
Liam penned it down to the letter, "and I just want to be Liam".
Olivia watched as Riley and Liam sat together, canoodling, as she described it. Drake came up behind her and placed both hands on her shoulders, tugging them. She looked at him with a sad face. "Come on, you can sit with me and Maxwell", he said as he pulled her over to another table.
Some time had passed when the door opened and Bastien walked in. They were all surprised to learn that this whole thing was not actually Constantine's doing, but, he and Regina's. The kids were falling apart and they thought they could use time together, helping one another, in a way an adult couldn't.  Apparently, their plan worked.
"Real fucking sneaky Bas", Drake said as he pulled him into hug, "does this mean I don't have seven weekends of guard duty with the ass clown you sent in here to watch us?"
"We'll see", he chuckled.
Everyone made their way out of the library, with Liam stopping Riley in the hallway. "Hey you".
"Hey you", she replied while pulling him to her.
"I have to go speak with my father, but, I'll meet you at the garden maze in twenty minutes, okay?"
She stood on her tipped toes and kissed him, "Don't you forget about me", she teased.
They parted ways and she made it to the palace entrance. She was met by two officers and a guard, looking specifically for her.
The officer approached her, "Riley Brooks?"
She wanted to lie, but, they obviously knew it was her. She let a shaky response, "yes".
The officer grabbed her and placed her under arrest, "we received word from His Majesty that you are a runaway who snuck into the palace".
Riley tried to explain to them that she was invited by Maxwell and that the Prince knows her, however, it fell on deaf ears.
Constantine met them at the door, with a scour look. He walked up to her, glared at her for what seemed to be hours for Riley, then smacked her in the face. "Don't you ever think about coming back here again.... or you will be sorry."
He motioned for the officers to take her away.
She cried out, "please dont send me back, he'll kill me....please....Liam!!!".

As the first 2 months of their junior year flew by; Nefe and Nattie, had to prepare themselves for a frightening event: Midterms. Midterms were every college kids worst nightmare. Especially before homecoming, yet something made them bearable: Parents Day. Parents Day was a huge event at Southern University, for the students. You can spend the whole day with your parents and show em around campus, or just chill with them for a few hours. Which meant the girls would travel back home to Miami, Florida, along with M’Baku.
“Hey Nattie! You got the dessert for the cookout right? Moms wants pecan and apple.” Walking around the store, Nefe had to make sure she got everything on the list her mom gave her.
“Yep. Both pies. Do we need ice cream too?” Nattie asked while going down the dessert aisle.” She was more than just Nefe’s best friend. She was her sister.
Nattie was officially adopted into Nefe’s family when her parents died, when she was 12. They’ve been best friends ever since. A bond that couldn’t be broken, that was strong than super glue. Growing up in Miami, Hialeah go be exact, wasn’t easy by any means. Natasha’s parents were murdered in a hit and run, while she was at school. The news put her in shock and she didn’t know what to do. So by being so close to Nefe’s family, they took her in with open arms. So parents days meant everything and more to Nattie than ever.
Once the kids were of age, Julian and Regina decided to move the family to Tallahassee for a better life and job opportunities. Nattie’s parents had set aside a growing college fund for her, so Nefe’s parents matched it. There was no way, Regina was going to let her best friends’ only child not live a better life.
“I think dad got it. We just need the ribs; hot dogs and buns. Both burgers and hot dog buns.”
Grabbing what they needed, heading towards the checkout lane, they were stopped when Melanie spotted them.
“Well lookie, lookie. It’s the trash community.” The triumphant smirk on her face shone, with the help of her two side hoes by her sides; Jordana and Stacy. Of all places to go run into them at a time like this. Yeah they grew up together and went to SU. Which meant they too went home.
“I see there’s a mirror there, Melanie. You seein your reflection while talkin out the side of your mouth?” Nattie couldn’t help but chuckle at her best friends comeback.
“Very funny. Listen, when you see M’Baku tell him to come by my dorm tonight. Comprende?”
“Or is that too much for you to understand?” Jordana enunciated each word, trying to be funny.
Nattie and Nefe looked at each other and let out a gut wrenching laugh.
“Comprende? Oh you think you funny huh? I can speak about, 4 different languages, and bitch is one of em. Don’t try me.” Nefe sucked her teeth in annoyance.
Eyeing them all up and down, Nattie scoffed and spoke up.
“Why do you even torture yourself, Melanie? No guy really sees anything with you. Oh yeah, and M’Baku wants nothing to do with you either.” Both of them moved past her, to finish their shopping.
“Then why can’t he stay away? He still loves all of  this,” Gesturing towards herself before walking away, Melanie waved goodbye. “and not a peanut shaped hoe like you.”
“Then why are his parents at our house for a Parents Day barbecue? Know your place.” Nefe waved back in a mocking tone, watching her storm off.
“Of all the Walmart’s in town, you’d think she’d have the common sense.” Nattie, scoffed heading to the car.
“Common sense isn’t common for her.” Even Nefe knew herself, that she couldn’t get M’Baku to leave Melanie alone. Sure enough it bothered her more than before.
The rest of the day was filled with laughs, love, music and food. Bonding with family was all Nefe and Nattie needed. M’Baku enjoyed the stories he heard of Nefe when she was little. His parents were there as well to embark on the festivities. The stories they shared of him when he was little, were even cuter. Nattie shared some memories of her own, mainly what it was like to have Nefe as a sister growing up.
Omari and Zola, M’Baku’s parents, are work colleagues of Julian in the medical field. They handle business over in their home country of Wakanda, but have a few businesses in the states. They formed a bond with Julian and Regina when, Omari first came to work for the local hospital. The bond stuck for the last few years.
“Regina, darling whatever you put in this gumbo it is good. Girl, you have to give me the recipe.” Zola was enamored by the dish.
“I shall. If you give me the recipe to this chicken dish from Wakanda. I need to go visit some time.” The chuckle that left the women’s lips, put a smile on both their husbands faces.
“All the food is amazing. Thank you for inviting us over, Mrs. Johnson.” M’Baku said politely, glancing over at Nefe a bit before diving into the peach cobbler that she made.
“Oh dear, you can call me Regina. We’re all family here.”
The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Just what was needed to ease the stress levels.
“Alright. Mrs. Regina.” A smile etched on his face remained there till he turned to his best friend.
“Nefe, this cobbler is bomb.” M’Baku muses in happiness and smiles at her, causing her to feel her face heat up.
Daniel, Nefe and Nattie’s older brother, glanced over at M’Baku like the over protective brother he is. Knowing damn well, he’s twice his size but won’t back down from protecting his siblings.
What was he looking at exactly? The sun dress Nefe wore clung to her like a second skin. The elegant golden yellow two piece dress, made her milk chocolate skin glow. She looked ravishing, he couldn’t look away. He did however, think about how she’d look in Jabari furs that would accentuate her curves.
“Thanks, it’s my grandmama's recipe. All the women in the family have it.”
Nattie knew exactly what was going on between them. She saw Daniel get defensive, which prompted her to kick his knee under the table.
“Ow!” He mumbled while rubbing his knee and glared at her, earning a smirk from the braided goddess.
“Well she passed it down to the right person.” Sending a subtle wink her direction, M’Baku joined her in the kitchen to help clean up. She couldn’t help but chuckle at his advances.
“Listen, imma need these two to stop flirting around us.”
“Daniel. Come on now, they’re best friends. That are blinded by said friendship, to see that they need each other more than ever.”
Diana spoke up and caused everyone at the table, to laugh. She wasn’t lying though. The chemistry was insane between the two. Upon coming back from the kitchen, Nefe eyes everyone suspiciously.
“What’s going on? Talking about us behind our back?”
“Maybe. What’s it to ya?”
Stephanie stuck her tongue out and felt Nefe ruffle her hair.
“You two flirting aimlessly. It’s cute really, because M’Baku hasn’t brought a woman home in years.” Omari, his father, spoke highly of his only son often when he and Julian get together.
“We weren’t flirting Steph. We were just talking is all.”
Nefe shrugged then looked at M’Baku, who nodded in agreement.
“Besides. She has Sean and I am kinda with Melanie.”
The tone is his voice when he said Sean’s name, struck something in both Nattie and Nefe. Yet the rest of the family just laughed. He went on with a smile and just didn’t say anything.
The rest of the night continued on without a hitch. But that little moment stayed in the back of Nefe’s head.
“I hope he’s ok. He seemed on edge a bit.” She pondered outloud as she applied her nightly face mask. Alongside her was Nattie.
“Me too. I just wish he’d talk to us more on his relationship with Melanie. He knows he’s too good for her.”
“That’s not what i'm talking about Nat. I’m referring to how he said Sean’s name. You saw his face didn't you? It looked like he wanted to kill him.”
“Uh, well I’m sure it’s nothing.” Nattie a voice went up a few octaves. Nefe knew exactly what that meant.
“Natasha Reign James, if you don’t tell me right now-“
“Ok! Ok! He overheard Sean at football practice, talking about getting with you during the summer. So he talked to me about it, I’m sorry!”
Nefe’s blood ran cold, with the news she recieved. Her breathing was cut short a tad, but she regained herself.
“Why hasn’t he killed him yet?” She wanted to know why.
“He’s waiting for you to talk to him about it. Not my place. You have to tell him Nefe, now that you know how he feels about him.”
She didn’t want to lose her best friend over some dude that he didn’t like. She had to tell him, but then again she had a thought.
“If he won’t tell me why he’s still fucking around with Melanie, then I’m not telling him why I’m messing with Sean.”
“You two are childish. Childish grown ass adults. I knew I should’ve went with T’Challa to see his mother and Shuri.” Nattie grabbed her stuff and headed to bed along with Nefe, to ease her pain. They did have to leave in the morning anyway to go go back to campus.
Later that night, M’Baku headed home with his parents and the drive to their townhouse was anything but ordinary.
”M’Baku, my darling son. You know how we feel about that Melanie girl.” Zola his mother, ever the elegant woman, spoke gently as they sights of the city sped past them.
“She’s not good enough for you and it shows in her actions. You and Nefertiti should have a go at it. She’s poised; elegant, carries herself well. All the great qualities of a future Jabari Queen.”
His father never spoke about any of the girls he brought home like he did about Nefe. It didn’t shock him that he mentioned Nefe. They always talked about her, they loved her dearly. Even her family as well.
“I know baba. I know. It’s just I’m having fun at my age and I’d rather not think about my responsibilities as future king of the Jabari right now. I’m trying to get away from Melanie to focus on myself, but the day I heard about Sean enraged me.” If anything, Nefe felt more than a friend to him. Yet he never told her that. Probably won’t now that Sean is in the picture.
He wasn’t called Great Gorilla for nothing amounts the his frat brothers. His chest heaved up and down in anger; his nostrils flared with aggravation and a flight growl burrowed within his throat. That all stopped once his mother spoke once more.
“Is he competition to you, my child?” The  tone in Zola’s voice meant that she was in queen mode.
Upon heading inside the home, M’Baku decided to stay the night and think about what his next plan was.
“To be honest, no. He competition in the slightest.” The arrogant look on his face made his parents proud. They raised a warrior to take on his challenges.
“Then you know what you just do, my son. You haven’t told her yet right?”
“No baba, I have not. I think I’ll wait to the right moment to do so.”
“Good. This American needs to be taught about the element of surprise then.” Omari nodded and headed to bed with his wife to let their son think his plans over.
“And a surprise it shall be.” M’Baku mumbled to himself as he rested in the guest room, sighing deeply into his thoughts as he drifted to sleep.
He had a strategy to make. He is the prince of Jabari Land after all, and needed a queen upon his coronation within 2 years. Maybe his parents were right, it was time he needed to think about his future and what was best fit his coming country. He just has to get rid of some dead weight to do so.
