The night air was cold as you roamed the streets of Fontaine. None of the shops were open anymore, the world only lit by the street lamps as you struggled to remember the way back to the hotel. Worse still was the nagging feeling that you were being followed...
"You seem lost, dear~" A soft voice purred into your ear as if they were right behind, yet when you turned on reflex there was nothing at all there, nor the other way, nor in front.
"Over here," the voice called from a nearby alleyway. Something about her voice was almost hypnotic, and you were walking towards it before you could question the decision. Cloaked in the shadows, the only thing clear about the woman was that her hair was in a long ponytail and she was dressed in a suit.
"Good evening, beautiful~" The woman purred as she stood up and slammed a hand against the wall beside your head. Suddenly exposed to the smallest hint of light, the woman's handsome face and black eyes illuminated by the seemingly glowing red X's within her pupils. Suddenly it clicked, a shiver running down your spine as the heat of the woman's aura hit you.
"What's your name, sweetheart~?" The Knave purred with a wolfish grin
She blinks once— twice, looking up demurely at the finely dressed woman from under her lashes. The harbinger is intimidating, no doubt about it. From the hand keeping her trapped with her to the way that The Knave holds herself, it all points to this woman being dangerous. And yet… there is an allure that beckons her in, like a moth to a flame.
“Good— good evening. I’m Catte,” she says, trying to keep her voice steady. (Thinking of The Knave calling her those pertnames certainly didn’t help her keep her cool.) Nevertheless, she does her best to meet The Knave’s piercing gaze without flinching at the intensity behind the markings in her eyes.
She isn’t sure why The Knave is here, of all places, or why she would call upon her. To just say hello? It’s unlikely. But to her knowledge she had kept well out of any dangerous dealings that would land her on the radar of the Fatui, much less garner the attention of a harbinger.
Mustering up all her courage, she asks: “May I ask why you’ve called me over?”
