i have a room in wobbledogs exclusively for teeth. whenever dogs drop their baby teeth i send the teeth down the chute to to the teeth room. it's because they have a potential effect on dogs when eaten (shifts their hue toward white and increases their glow) that is cool but not quite desirable for every dog out there, and because teeth are so small, they get easily lost in nooks of rooms and also get eaten by dogs you didn't want to eat them, and when you have a dog you want to make eat teeth it's sometimes a pain to find enough. someday i will unleash dogs in here to eat teeth

xingqiu and chongyun have insanely good potential for angst my god. xingqiu in particular is so fun to think about in the context of chongyun. what do YOU know about chivalry boy

thinking about how he and hu tao kinda operate on similar notions of justice and all that shmick except hu tao is more strictly averse to disrupting the Natural Order (incredibly vague and generalized concept rn sorry) whilst xingqiu sets his principles more arbitrarily. chongyun's presence somehow foils a lot of his notable character traits. gestures hands vaguely in the air but sth sth hu tao would not approve of xq's moral infractions

perhaps im just reading too deep into this but shrugs ill admit something's changed in Me the last 2 years and coming back to xq and cy has me like. scratches head now hold on im not entirely sure if i even like the way xq treats cy. its kinda one of the main points of their dynamic- the whole.. pranking this oblivious guy who i really adore etc. but its deeper implications leave me a little unsatisfied and a little troubled (?).. in the long run i personally dont really see anything substantially appealing about their (leaning towards romantic in this context) relationship other than like ?? the tropes that mhy imposed upon them. they were created as a compatible Duo ykwim. they reference each other a lot in their lore and even in-game but.. idk maybe i just view them separately instead of a joint unit that anaylzing them individually revealed a lot of crevices and cracks in their ship that's built upon their mainstream appeal

but anyway i've thought a lot about them as a duo and is it nuts to say i like them as a romantic ship but if they were unrequited. i can see them working out but it necessitates a complete subversion and reconstruction of xingqiu (chara development basically LOL) on my part that i would totally invest myself in but im not entirely sure how to execute it

i like xingqiu a LOT as a flawed character. i wouldnt go as far as to say hes toxic, just very conflicted and insecure. hes a fun character to think about. re: the hu tao bit i mentioned above, i think they would have a really fun, witty, and transformative friendship

but anyway. yes i like xq and i still like xy. theyre just a bit more complicated now aha. im still capable of enjoying fluffy ship dynamics but lately ive been in a Character Study Mood ... mmm.. ive yet to organize my chongming thoughts

Woodkid: 2022 (first design) vs 2024 (current design)

looking at the comparison i can see that i erased way too much of the wooden, bark textures from the old design.

it was always a struggle to draw him consistently since the textures are quite complicated and he doesn't have any real facial features for me to anchor when i draw him in different angles so.. i gave him a nose. a herbivore looking nose but still a nose.

but the more i draw the newer design, the weirder it feels. it doesn't sit right with me. the new design doesn't solve my problem, in fact it creates entirely new one because i swung too far to the opposite side: he now looks way too simple and too cartoonish! the textures are wiped clean and his mouth-less, lower face looks way too jarring bc of this oversimplification. his features looks like sticker being painted on top of smooth wooden mask, and that's not the kind of design i want.

so, the journey of re-designing Woodkid continues... 😂

hopefully i can marry the old and new designs and arrive at something satisfactory and easy to draw frequently

guys i genuinely don't know what to do. my quirky little destiel fic which was already far too long to begin with now has a second smaller fic nested inside of it and somehow the second smaller fic is the absolute crackfest of this supernatural/tazamnesty crossover where dean lowkey hooks up with barclay the bigfoot and i don't KNOW what to DO. do i cut the scene. do i post it separately. do i post it separately but ALSO leave it in the fic. do i just pretend like barclay is an OC i made up and all the references to the fictional town of kepler west virginia are incidental. WHAT IS THE MOVE HERE

With as many ways of manifesting as its name, the Vast touches all areas of this world. Up in the air, falling freely as the pale blue stretches out, painted in soft white. Racing along a line as the winds scream, close enough to touch the sky and fly. Storms of rain and wind, gray reaching from horizon to horizon. Out on the deep blue, glittering on as far as the eye can see. In a crowd, everyone looking to the same goal, the same idea. Under the water, from beaches to canyons to caverns, from the bright surface to the creature-lit deep. The endless knowledge on the internet, in books, between people. The endless reach of space, shining like glitter against a void of ink. There are yet more ways for it to manifest, as many as there are people to witness the Aweful Beauty of the endless.
