been thinking about the liyue gang and how id draw their physical builds so here are some thoughts i had for xy cy and gm in particular
- xingqiu, unsurprisingly, would be quite lanky. i like to think he has broad-ish shoulders, like a thin athlete's build? hes a long boy to me haha, long face, neck, limbs, fingers etc, so naturally hes stands (comparatively) tall at 5'6" or 5'7"
i like to think hes most physically attractive one and has that handsome princely and boyish charm to him because it adds a lot to his fuckass duality LOL
- chongyun is a lot like xiao imo! short stature but with muscular arms. he seems nimble and flexible because of his normal attack animations (which bears a lot of similarities to xiao's actually! this + the fact that chongyun's normal attacks create gusts of wind further reinforces my hc that xiao trains him). sometimes i watch high energy choreography vids on youtube and some dancers look incredibly light on their feet, almost like their body is inherently bouncy? and i imagine chongyun to have that agility to him. chongyun has a delicate face and aura and i let that bleed into my hcs for his fighting style and physical capabilities hahaha. hes kind of like a cat who's deceptively strong. as for height.. just a few inches taller than xiao, so perceptibly short at 5'4"
- ga ming my new beloved. pretty much similar to chongyun but more muscular and stronger just because he wields his claymore with ease. theres a noticeable weight different between cy and his claymore the way he lugs it up after he swings (or even other claymore users like razor who, on his last hit, bounces from impact). meanwhile ga ming literally slams his to the ground LOL. i love his movements though hes very swift and expressive and radiant.. if cy has delicate movements then ga ming's is fierce and (charmingly!) assertive
ga ming is wonderfully charismatic though, i know hes not well known in liyue harbor yet, but he seems like the type to gain a reputation from his friendliness. how could no one adore him hahaha. 5'5" for height! just between xy and xq
#tangy talks genshin#chongyun gets analyzed most my bad#this was super fun though#while thoughtful ; genshin chara designs will always look distinctly gacha and flashy so a lot of the designs kinda blur together in my hea#this is why i really like looking into their animations particuarly their normal attacks#i think it conveys their personalities really well! it's always something to look forward to when new characters release#i gravitate towards swords polearms and claymores most though because i like the act of swinging and slashing hah. it also requires a lot o#body movement and reflects a lot of irl martial arts fencing and other combat techniques#sword users are always really fun to watch because theyre inherently graceful hahah. i will admit it gets kinda repetitive#i think my favorite NA animation has to be albedo's.. very simple clean and refined. he stands elegantly and puts his arm behind his back o#his 2nd attack which ive been transfixed by since be first came out in 2020 LOL. i love albebo#wow these tags are long as hell#but anyway i actually have more thoughts on xq's physical appearance but its just me rambling about how i think hes funny as fuck#im a proponent of dashingly pretty princely xingqiu not necessarily because i want to bestow upon him desirable traits#but because i think its funny knowing hes just a bit of a loser under all that#hes well known (mr worldwide one might say) and the heir to a prestigious guild and chivalrous talented and prolific#but he writes self insert novels hates carrots had bad handwriting sings really bad#hes just a teenage boy#as always i will 100% have more to say about chongyun but ill save that for another post#ga ming on the other hand.. i dont have anything substantial to say but hes super fun to think about#hes such a likable character#wow these tags are LONG as fuck ill stop now.

hello, would it be alright to request a mystic messenger and a genshin impact match up? i go by venus, my pronouns are she/her, and i’m bisexual! i’m a taurus, my mbti is infp, and my enneagram is 9w1. i’m 6’ (~182 cm), chubby, with shoulder length wavy hair that i dye brown, blue eyes, and freckles everywhere. i wear gold glasses that have a chain with stars and moons on it. i like to think my style is fairly cottagecore, but a lot of people tell me i dress like a grandma.
as for my personality, i’m very shy. i don’t talk much and i tend to keep to myself quite a bit. i’d like to think i’m kind. i try my best to be a safe space for everyone around me. i have a strong sense of justice. my giving love language is acts of service, and my receiving love language is quality time. i love doing little things for people and i love feeling needed. i’m very easy to please, but this also means that i have a hard time being critical of things. i try to see things in a positive light, and i look for the best in people. i tend to bottle my negative feelings out of shame- i see myself as irrational and over-dramatic. this leads to me lashing out down the line. i’m working on it though! i’m learning how to communicate my feelings in a healthy way. i also tend to be overly sensitive. i’m pretty positive that i have adhd.
i spend a lot of time drawing. i’d like to think i have an eye for design. i like taking naps (i feel like i’m always tired) and playing cozy games. i listen to music almost constantly. i also love cold, rainy days. i like fashion! i put a lot of thought into what i wear and i have a very particular style. i’m fascinated by astronomy. i also love going to museums and exhibits. i like playing dungeons and dragons as well! and of course, i LOVE my cat. there isn’t much that i can say i dislike. i can’t stand heat. i don’t like tangy foods. people who are quick to jump into conflict annoy me. i don’t like being perceived as childish.

GAH LONG POST..
xingqiu and chongyun have insanely good potential for angst my god. xingqiu in particular is so fun to think about in the context of chongyun. what do YOU know about chivalry boy
thinking about how he and hu tao kinda operate on similar notions of justice and all that shmick except hu tao is more strictly averse to disrupting the Natural Order (incredibly vague and generalized concept rn sorry) whilst xingqiu sets his principles more arbitrarily. chongyun's presence somehow foils a lot of his notable character traits. gestures hands vaguely in the air but sth sth hu tao would not approve of xq's moral infractions
perhaps im just reading too deep into this but shrugs ill admit something's changed in Me the last 2 years and coming back to xq and cy has me like. scratches head now hold on im not entirely sure if i even like the way xq treats cy. its kinda one of the main points of their dynamic- the whole.. pranking this oblivious guy who i really adore etc. but its deeper implications leave me a little unsatisfied and a little troubled (?).. in the long run i personally dont really see anything substantially appealing about their (leaning towards romantic in this context) relationship other than like ?? the tropes that mhy imposed upon them. they were created as a compatible Duo ykwim. they reference each other a lot in their lore and even in-game but.. idk maybe i just view them separately instead of a joint unit that anaylzing them individually revealed a lot of crevices and cracks in their ship that's built upon their mainstream appeal
but anyway i've thought a lot about them as a duo and is it nuts to say i like them as a romantic ship but if they were unrequited. i can see them working out but it necessitates a complete subversion and reconstruction of xingqiu (chara development basically LOL) on my part that i would totally invest myself in but im not entirely sure how to execute it
i like xingqiu a LOT as a flawed character. i wouldnt go as far as to say hes toxic, just very conflicted and insecure. hes a fun character to think about. re: the hu tao bit i mentioned above, i think they would have a really fun, witty, and transformative friendship
but anyway. yes i like xq and i still like xy. theyre just a bit more complicated now aha. im still capable of enjoying fluffy ship dynamics but lately ive been in a Character Study Mood ... mmm.. ive yet to organize my chongming thoughts

asked my friend to translate more voicelines from cn to eng and apparently xingqiu never addresses chongyun w a nickname ("dear') in cn in his voiceline about him. if anything he just goes "SIGH this guy-" which i think is funny as hell. i think the "ah, dear chongyun" was supposed to be more sarcastic than affectionate hahaha. i think xingqiu holds chongyun dear to him regardless (considering their canon interactions etc) but this just makes xingqiu a lot cheekier and their dynamic funnier. SIGH this guy 🙄

man i found a chongyun/ga ming fanart post on my explore feed on instagram and first of all this is the first time i've seen genshin on ANY of my explore feeds in months maybe even a year and second who is ga ming. but anyway my love for chongyun reawakened and i doodled these in a moment of weakness... did a little research on ga ming and it seems he's a new addition to the liyue teens? hahaha

oohhh i'm finally starting act 3... sumeru archon quest is actually quite interesting but maybe i just havent played g3nshin in so long that past archon quests are muddled in my memories and so the current one is a lot more appealing
but in my time away from this game.. i realize the quests now are a little different..? h0yo implemented small changes like slightly cinematic scenes and camera angles that make quests register more as a film. it's not very interactive, as past and current g3nshin quests usually are, so it's not necessarily a huge improvement but i appreciate it. i can just autoplay and do chores hahaha
anyway ive mentioned this before but playing the game now is so much more fun because im not in the fandom and am behind like 2 years of community talk aka theories drip marketing etc.. i genuinely dunno any of the sumeru charas and esp the fontaine charas. who tf is the hydro archon. also got jumpscared by dottore in act 3 LMFAO i had NO IDEA HE EVEN HAD AN IN GAME MODEL THATS NUTSSS. cool ass cutscene though
anyway... im gonna liveblog act 3 here maybe. ill just rb and edit on the way hahaha. times like this i wish i had a twt and just made a thread

older chongyun..!! i think most people draw him w long hair tied up in a ponytail but i like to think his hair grows really slow. he grows it out to his nape giving him somewhat of a mullet? my goal is more on a small mane...hehe. rationale for this is that id assume he can control his yang energy better as he ages and therefore doesnt warrant the need to tie his hair to ventiliate himself or prevent sweating. i reread his character stories on his profile and forgot the bit about him feeling like he missed out the mundanes bc of his condition (eg large gatherings hot springs regular dishes). perhaps the smallest and most gradual development in overcoming this predicament is growing out his hair.....

hfbgg asked my chinese friend to translate chongyun's voiceline about xiao and apparently he stumbles over his words a little and repeats them. "he said... he said that exorcists are of little power and not worth mentioning! i, i absolutely do not agree!"
firstly i think this is really in character for him to do when he flares up and also legitimizes that chongyun does canonically stutter and secondly this is really cute HNGHFH hes so righteous..
my friend said he seems really indigant and flustered and he reminds them of this emoji below which i dont think ill ever recover from... the thought of chongyun puffing his cheeks is so endearing haha

but anyway. been thinking about chongyun and ga ming more.. just a list of interspersed thoughts about them today:
reached friendship lvl 3 with ga ming and found out he's naturally very kind and friendly to everyone which i thought was super sweet. though a cliche archetype i really enjoy his charm hahaha. thinking about how he and chongyun would interact
was looking up past events on youtube that i missed in my 2 year genshin hiatus lmao but apparently chongyun and xiao canonically met in a poem event..?!?! my two BOYS ! i'm devastated i missed it but i just watched a 12 min clip of their scenes together
but anyway, the way chongyun talks, at least in the english subtitles, is so.. chongyun lmao. exactly how i thought he would. trails off in ellipses and is very polite, slightly reluctant. not eloquent as xingqiu but he speaks formally. he's a lot more shy than i expected though
i was thinking about how ga ming and chongyun would talk considering ga ming has a characteristically teenage lingo lmao. for some reason a conversation between xingqiu and ga ming seems like it would go a lot smoother than w chongyun
heh i actually read a ga ming/chongyun fic today, though only out of curiosity and the author's portrayals of them are adjacent to mine so that's awesome
there was a bit where ga ming engulfs chongyun in the maw of the lion's jaw while wearing it (a nian i think? i might be wrong) and kisses his nose while xq and xiangling watch. and ga ming later goes "were those your friends? the ones who saw me take a dive on you?" HAHAHA.. it was cute, though i'm more intrigued by this characterization. ga ming being shamelessly honest is really funny. i'm abusing his trait of his if i ever draw lil snippets between him and chongyun
not entirely sure if i ship them? but i'm not opposed to it heh. perhaps it's just me growing more n more attached to ga ming that i'm like (nudges him towards chongyun) cmon.. do something...

hmm.. a bit of a ramble but it's really weird playing g3nshin rn because of how differently i see it? spent a lot of my G3nshin Phase holed up in my room mindlessly grinding and was so fixated that i developed a really strong attachment to it and was deeply fandom pilled and deranged LMFAO... perhaps its because of that that i burnt myself out a lot and became overly (though rightfully) critical of it
playing it now as someone who's less depressed and has a Life outside soc med is.. a lot more enjoyable actually. i think g3nshin works best as a game to be played in moderation, like idle clicker games hahaha. playing it Casually has never been an option for me until now.. wow.. the wonders of getting your shit together
i dont think.. i can confidently say i love the game or that it's one of my favorites because it being a gacha game ruins a lot of its potential and valuation and i dont wanna dogpile it rn lmao but [insert other reasons why g3nshin is Bad]
but mannn. i love worldbuilding. i love huge expansive maps and story quests. love random exposition drops lmao. g3nshin offers a lot of narratives that are extractive albeit the corny executions and poor storytelling but it's a fun game to wind down to. didnt think id be saying this but ive missed this game. hehe

gaming beating my record of strongest single strike... going thru past stats and raiden/hu tao usually took that spot with 130-150k. xianyun changed everything haha

chongyun says that xiangling supplies his popsicles in his hangout event, its the paths where you give the kid one of his popsicles and make some more by either putting spicy inside of them and killing him or being normal and not killing him
