hii !! i love this question sorry it took me so long to respond i needed time to sit down n think LOL

starting with the popular books, i loved "they both die at the end", "the seven husbands of evelyn hugo", "we were liars" (can't remember how good the sequel is but i know it wasn't bad), "the silent patient", and "the song of achilles". i'm sure there are more but i can't remember at the moment.

in terms of popular series, all of leigh bardugo's books are chef's kiss 🤌 (i'm a shadow and bone lover, don't @ me), lunar chronicles was BEAUTIFUL and i read "out now" and "all out" which are collections of queer stories that are so good! for poetry i like rupi kaur's books but some might say that her poetry is very modernised and meant solely for instagram posts (which can't be argued with) so there's that. also percy jackson and the kane chronicles are great! loved those

in terms of less popular ones, "red rising" (trilogy), "unplugged" (trilogy), "the upside to falling", "if i stay", "the tenderness of thieves" and "i have no secrets" are all wonderful! they might be harder to find though? i've not got a good grasp on how popular books are though HAHA

the titles aren't very telling but i read most kinds of books, though lately i've noticed that my taste tends towards queer books, whether in mystery or fantasy or slice-of-life type books. it's a large range LOL

I will repeat this shit until the day I die but it's so frustrating when ppl act like you can control chronic illness through diet and exercise when shit like THE WEATHER can trigger a flare up. The WEATHER bro. It is raining and now i can barely walk

#I am eating well I am doing daily yoga and swimming and I'm managing my mental health to the very best of my capabilities #And still #So.. Yeah #Ppl who act like eating right and exercising will cure you can suck my ass #Like yes it helps. On the good days #But also they never even fucking mention that it takes so much effort and spoons to do those things to begin with #On bad days I can't fucking go to the student restaurant for a decent meal or do yoga or go swimming #Sometimes i just gotta wait it the fuck out and not blame myself

Different anon here but I have actually heard someone say that they felt like Birds of Prey actually started the Helena as a side character to other characters instead of the solo character and popularity she has been gaining. That she was treated as a third wheel compared to Babs and Dinah at times.

I can definitely see that! once she started showing up in BOP it was the main book she showed up in( i guess we did get year one but year one is like laughably bad), which i think she suffered from both in characterization and just... showing up. again like you mentioned being a bit of a third wheel. Helena was always a character that showed up a lot in team-ups. We it be in Gotham's big 90's events or just one of her like 5 team ups with Tim. But I think the writing in a lot of those team ups WERE good, or engaging. She is always a treat with Tim and she's INCREDIBLE in No Man's Land.

When Helena showed up she left a mark, she might not be the focus of the whole event but she's intense and captivating. I never felt that Bird's Of Prey captured that feel for her(though it's not all bad!) Not to blame Dan Didio for everything ever but the N52 is also largely at fault. Being erased from continuity and being "brought back" as a completely new unrecognizable character doesnt do great things for your popularity.

i'm new to tumblr and i didn't really know about the importance of reblogging (but i do now and i've reblogged tons of stuff) and now writers are stopping eveything because of lack of appreciation for their works and it's so sad and i always see the likes and reblogs on a post and there'd be like thousands of likes and like only 20 or less reblogs v sad

that's not even 5% of the total likes. n if it's that bad for me with 5.5k followers i don't even want to know what the ratio is for writers that are just starting. i noticed it's been getting worse lately n idk.. my will to write is not the same as before. like i enjoyed writing blurbs for u guys or doing celebrations but tbh i don't see the point in doing it for them to get 20 likes n that's it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"life doesnt get better, you just get stronger" does NOT include ages 11-17. life does in fact just get better from there. those years are dogshit. like, you do get stronger but its mostly just a factor of not being 11-17 anymore. positive thinking helps but it doesnt fix whatevers going on at 15, you have to brute force through that one raw
