loves running away with you at night to hunt, wander the streets, and generally fuck around. midnight walks are his favorite, and luckily he never has to worry about being cautious during the night, considering you're both the strongest beings on the planet

Sure! I feel like many of these are hcs several others also share, so it may not necessarily be new, but these are things I think about when it comes to him. He's a complex character imo, and there are so many tidbits I like to overanalyze haha!

I also apologize because this isn't very meta - but more of a word dump about how there are little references that add to Aizen's complexity (even if it's from me overanalyzing everything lmao).

This is incredibly long, so thank you to those who take the time to read this! I really appreciated how responsive people were to my last meta post, it means a lot.

I apologize for not replying to comments (I can't on this account), but it truly means a lot that people also feel similarly about Aizen!

👓 NAME 👓

I'm not fluent in Japanese AT ALL, like super basic, rudimentary skills, but I'd like to think Kubo put thought into the names of his characters.

Let's breakdown his last surname: Aizen (藍染). I think many common assumptions is that his name is tied to the god of lust and wisdom (Aizen-myoo) but the kanji is completely different from that mythical figure (愛染明王).

The kanji in our Aizen, represents indigo dye. It also shares the same kanji as a Japanese-native psychoactive mushroom (Psilocybe subcaerulipes [藍染芝生茸]).

I find indigo an interesting colour. I always saw it as leaning towards blue, but other times I've seen it lean towards violet. In a sense, it blends between the two - you can interpret this as how Aizen blended between being a wonderful captain, to a murderous traitor of Soul Society. Or going even further, an excellent and skilled shinigami, to an even more powerful, dangerous transcendent being.

Indigo dye, purple, deep violets, etc. are family of colours perceived as royalty in historical Western kingdoms - what did Aizen want to do? Become the Soul King.

Aizen's own reiatsu is depicted as being a violet colour.

In Japan, the shades of indigo have a different meaning: benevolence/virtue (again, this is where you can interpret indigo as more blue or more purple). He saw killing Tosen, attempting to kill Hinamori, etc. as "benevolent" acts (even if his perceptions are deeply skewed). He was also known to be a virtuous captain before his betrayal. Here is a link to traditional Japanese colour theory.

This is more of a stretch, because the likely reason the psychoactive mushroom has the name "Aizen" in Japanese is because it bruises into an "indigo" like colour, but again - psychoactive mushrooms cause hallucinatory effects. When you're tripping, your senses are deeply affected.

There's something to be said about tripping on shrooms. From personal experience, you want someone you trust, to be sober and watch over you, you want to be around people you trust, etc. This is from the concept of "set and setting" - your emotions are deeply affected by shrooms. The hallucinatory properties of kyoka suigetsu deeply affected many people's emotional responses. Aizen, who would be the "sober" one, is untrustworthy and pushed people further into his hypnosis until he undid it, leaving many mentally scarred for a time being (Hinamori). This is also a massive risk when taking psychoactive drugs.

Another way to see interpret his name is that it could be a reflection of his family's status. Many cultures, historically, had names based on family's main occupation. Indigo dye could be interpreted into many facets: were his family merchants? Were they silk weavers? Indigo is a very difficult colour to create, so it would be expensive - it could be a fair assumption that Aizen grew up comfortably, but still very, very far off from the nobles.

This could explain how Aizen understood the meaning for birthdays - as even Hitsugaya pointed out, being in Rukongai 1, birthdays were not important. Again with Aizen, you can interpret him as being knowledgeable about everything, or it could reflect that he grew up in an environment where birthdays were celebrated, making him "better off" than those in all of Rukongai.

You can interpret that the association of his family having some mercantile occupation, giving him insight as to how the noble families operated, and him growing his disgust towards them. "These people rule over Soul Society? They're complete idiots." or something of that effect haha!

On the other hand, there are similarities between Aizen, the god Aizen-myoo, and divinity.

Within the Japanese Monarchy, there are 3 items tied to it and the royalty's associated godhood: Kusanagi (sword); the Yata no Kagami (mirror); Yasakani no Magatama (jewel). KS represents both the sword and mirror - the hogyoku represents the jewel. Aizen held both at one point in the story, but were "destroyed" - thus stopping him from reaching the royal palace ("godhood").

The hogyoku was revealed to be a "wish-granting" item, which is very similar to the "hoju" in Japanese Buddhist mythology. There are certain gods and goddesses associated with this jewel: Kannon (who is the figure in Urahara's sword/bankai); Jizo Bosatsu (Mayuri's Ashisogi Jizo) and Aizen-myoo. It could be that Kubo wanted Mayuri to also be involved/have a connection to the hogyoku too!

Both Aizen and Aizen-myoo open their third eye, associated with beings of a higher consciousness, spiritual awareness, and enlightenment.

Aizen and Aizen-myoo can be seen as foils in their depiction, aside from having similar sounding names. Aizen-myoo's skin is flushed red, while his hair is wild and unkept - which is tied to passion, rage and lust - raw emotion. Aizen Sousuke is the opposite, his skin is stark white (devoid of passion), his hair is slicked back (composed). He's controlled in his emotions until Urahara seals him in bright red seals. His hair also becomes wild!

Another thing about Aizen-Myoo: he is the patron god for many occupations, one of those are trades relating to fabric-dyeing, going back to the indigo aspect :).

So Sousuke/Sosuke, as Kubo wrote it is: 惣右介

The 惣 represents:

A historical term for rural, self-governance (and what did Aizen want to do again…). Specifically referring to the "Muromachi period". Interestingly to note, this period is where Zen Buddhism flourished, especially in the arts (like calligraphy!!).

右 represents "right-hand side" (as in "turn right at the corner") 介 for being "concerned with one's self".

Sousuke/Sosuke is a popular Japanese name, which adds another layer to Aizen's deception. His name is very common, almost like he's an NPC - he's so innocuous in the world of Sereitei. Mild-mannered, disciplined, refined, he doesn't stand out too much, but enough to be recognized for his work ethic.

At the same time, I'm not taking too much stock into this interpretation of his meaning :). For example, Kisuke (喜助) also has the same suffix in romaji (-ke), but different kanji associated with it (介 vs 助).

🪞 🌸 🌊 🌙 KYOKA SUIGETSU 🌙 🌊 🌸 🪞

I'm not doing a breakdown on the idiom kyoka suigetsu represents (as there are countless, and better explained posts breaking that down better than I can). What instead I'm bringing, is how kyoka suigetsu is a tool to show how ambitious and focused Aizen is. This section is very much thanks to this Reddit post and additional "research" I wanted to know more about lol!.

One of the most prominent books on swordfighting, strategy and warfare in Japan is "A Hereditary Book on the Art of War" written by Yagyu Munenori in 1632. This book is split into three arches: 1) The Killing Swords; 2) Life-giving Sword; 3) No Sword.

In this book, Munenori breaks down the same idiom kyoka suigetsu represents, but ties it to sword fighting.

Munenori takes the idiom "moon in the water" but equates it as the moon's ability to instantaneously cast its reflection on the water's surface, and how a warrior must do the same.

A warrior must be able to "see" far ahead, like the moon, and "cast his reflection" (killing strike, his ambition) on where he wants to go, just like the moon reflecting on the water. His ambition will guide his "body, hands, and feet", thus without ambition, your physical strength is useless.

To be able to utilize their ambition and physical strength effecitvely, the warrior must be focused and disciplined. Aizen (prior to his loss against Ichigo and Urahara), exhibited a lot of Zen values/attitudes, even in his fighting.

Munenori also discusses that the warrior, who is able to mimic "the moon reflecting on to the water", must be unreadable, mysterious, to his opponent - the opponent should be confused on when to strike (the warrior's "inscrutable sword").

What Munenori states as "body, hands, and feet" is just knowing/being able to read your opponents

"Sickness" isn't the literal physical ailment of being sick, but in the Zen meaning of "being free of fixations".

Zen teachings explain that true freedom comes from "freeing the mind of fixations without losing concentration, attention, or control". Aizen's own focus is an great example of that - his ability to make near perfect illusions is not a testament to kyoka suigetsu, but of his own mind.

Aizen was constantly focused on the "present", while being very aware on what he needed to go "further ahead". His ability to continuously wield his strength/reaitsu, with his high intelligence and tactical mind, made him probably one of the strongest enemies Soul Society ever faced. We can argue that Aizen's "fixation" on being the Soul King led to his downfall.

Combining this, kyoka suigetsu is powerful because Aizen is the one wielding it. Even Gin said so himself, it's not KS that's powerful, but Aizen - his focus, his ambition, intelligence, etc. make him fearsome. Applying Munenori's tactics to Aizen's own sword fighting ability, also adds an additional appreciation of Aizen's immense strength.

🤫 APPEARANCE 🤫

This is a shorter section lol, but Aizen having glasses as part of his attire is a very deliberate choice imo. It's pretty much the same reason the protagonist of Persona 5 wore them:

it creates an "unassuming" appearance; Aizen appears as a non-threatening, and ✨intellectual✨

Without his glasses, he has a intense, even menacing stare. I'm sure the students at the Soul Academy were curious to see what he looked without them, but they would probably be very intimidated if they saw him without his glasses.

Shaggy, almost unkept hair, gives a sense of approachability.

I think Aizen was very aware about how he looks/is meticulous about his apperance. His disguise as "Lieutenant/Captain Aizen" had to be very believable - he was deliberate in how he presented himself.

Even in a modern AU setting, I can see Aizen having a wardrobe that leans towards timeless, classic pieces, and pieces that avoid him standing out. He is an observer, and he also likes to take people by surprise. Maybe the nice, cashemere sweater he's wearing, costs $500 haha! Something like that.

It's not that he cares what other people think of him, but he has goals he wants to achieve, and showing is "true" self, will not yield him that reward. He's aware that he can further his agenda by playing into the hands of how the public treats and reacts to him.

👩‍🔬 🧑‍🔬 👨‍🔬 SCIENTISTS 👨‍🔬 🧑‍🔬 👩‍🔬

Aizen, Urahara and Mayuri are the three (in)famous scientists in Sereitei. I would also argue Shutara Senjumaru of the Royal Guard also deserves a spot for that, so I'm going to include her in this as well.

We see that Mayuri and his sword, if you were to "categorize" what science he fell under, it would be "toxicology" which is more chemistry and biology driven. Mayuri is focused on poisons, their effects, and his tolerance/immunity to them. Urahara on the other hand, would be biological engineering. He also invented the hogyoku, as well as the untraceable gigai, and many other tools. His bankai is also representative of anatomical dissections, which is pretty prominent in many applications of biological engineering.

Shutara would be associated with materials science since she created the Shinigami uniform, which has built-in defense properties. She also created the Shutara scale to detect hollows and their frequency (again, dealing with the material, physical world).

Aizen on the other hand? Neuropsychology. His powers and skill are focused on the person's brain/mind and soul. He's skilled at reading people and observing them - to the point in strategizing and using their emotions for his own plans. I mean, there's even a whole subset of how psychology can be used in warfare...

First of all thank you so much 🥺🥺🥺 here’s some basic stuff with a smidge of info dump ghhffh accompanied by a very messy wip scribble from last night

Name: Eiva

Class: Hunter

Pronouns: they/she (leaning heavily towards they tho like a 70/30 split lol)

Sexuality: gray ace

They are my main Guardian oc for Destiny 2 and I’ve had them since I was like 13-14. Their main subclass is solar/void main weapons are the Ace of Spades, Wishender, and Vestian dynasty (in my heart it hasn’t been sunset). I actually have a long running private fic for them but I’ve only written like three chapters lmaooo with several smaller snippets. Some highlights are:

-I’m still working shopping it but back before the collapse when Eiva was human I headcanon that their family was actually in the weapons manufacturing business (specifically Khovostov lmaooo I hc that as her last name from wayyy back then but they’re also probably adopted)

-they had a sister who is pretty much central to Eiva’s entire character even as a Guardian when they can’t remember her. Similarly to Uldren they did everything for her but it wasn’t toxic like with Mara and Eiva was more like the big sister protecting little sister lmaooo; but basically they followed her everywhere even down to when they were awoken and when they left the Distributary.

-I personally headcanon that Guardians are brought back as a second chance because they had the capacity to be really good people in their first life but weren’t which is why the War Lords and Iron Lords and etc are Like That. So, Eiva was not very nice lmao. Their desire to protect their sister was pretty much all they cared about and they fucked over a lot of people.

-Their sister was pretty much their exact opposite and honestly more the typical main character formula as in wanted to be a hero. I made Eiva with this in mind and they are more the reluctant hero lol like they’re not really trying to be a symbol of anything to anyone it just always happens that they fall into positions of leadership. I even tried to make Eiva more plain in comparison so they have the typical kind of common blue skin white hair awoken combo but her sister to me is more unique and is these like really pretty shades of purple.

-Ok moving onto like actual current in game stuff lol Eiva’s current fireteam is made up of a warlock named Obi-1 (yes like Obi-wan) and T-13 (Tiberius-13). Their Ghost is named Sirius after the star bc it’s the brightest star iirc

-Obi and Ty are not her original fireteam. Their original fireteam consisted of an awoken titan (Sav) and another hunter (Killian) and three others for raids lol. All of them were their consistent raid team up until Oryx. Eiva in my canon is the sole survivor of the raid against Oryx and that raid is the reason for a giant shift in their character. It was their first really big loss. (Basically I think they all got really cocky after Crota and didn’t take it seriously enough)

-ok now onto some ✨Romance things now bc I love romance✨

-Sav was the first person they ever had feelings for after being Risen I’m still messing with it but I think I’m gonna have a very messy very sapphic love triangle-ish type thing going on there with another guardian lmaoo

-a very convoluted and self indulgent ship with Crow/Uldren lmao basically I headcanon that they knew each other wayyyyy back when they were both humans and when Mara pulled her bullshit making the Distributary she made them forget each other

-to add some ✨spice✨ to that ship and Eiva’s overall story I also had them have feelings for Cayde (I’m debating how far they actually got into this situationship that exists in my head lmaooo ya know before he 💀)

-presently Eiva is mid slow burn with Crow so you can imagine my excitement at the prospect of Cayde coming back because the angst is gonna be so good dhdhdhs (I have like 15k worth of fic so far for this character and a long running series in my brain lmfao)

-some random fact now uhhh

-Eiva knows exactly how they died their final death in their last life but pretends not to

-Eiva knows exactly how many times they’ve died and has asked their ghost to keep a record of them so they can look back on them and learn from them

-Eiva has a particular hatred for the hive bc of Oryx

-they participated in getting married to shaxx for the Lolz

-has a lot of “warlock” tendencies for a hunter (they were actually originally a warlock when I first made them I swapped to hunter maybe a year before D2 came out and their old name was trinity)

-their name Eiva comes from Edelweiss I bastardized it bc it’s their favorite flower; when they were a kid they had a vested interest in botany that their parents did not support lol and that life didn’t allow them to explore

-I chose edelweiss bc of its meaning (devotion), it’s description (it’s a flower that grows even in the toughest conditions), and I based her hair/eye color on that white hair (petals) yellow gold eyes (middle) lol

That's fair! I'm also super impatient and usually can't resist deep-diving on the wiki for everything I get into, though I try to fight it for a bit lol, and ah. Now that's a fun contradiction :P

I feel like I'm solving a mystery 😆 You def sound like you know something wild is up, and yeah reading it is never the same as visuals with perfectly timed music and voices. There's always something missed in info-dumping, I would know. I tried, and shakes Hawks there's WAY too much subtlety and layers to explain about this guy and his actions. And that's JUST in the manga. He's got more angst to him in side-material and interviews.

Anyways, super appreciate that you'd like to learn all that yourself! Most people are content to just accept word-of-mouth, but seeing things for yourself is a valuable life-skill as well! And honestly, Good Luck. 😔✊ "Who is Hawks, What is Hawks, WHY is Hawks-" is something I remember us all struggling with for years since his intro, but you've got the perk of not having to wait weekly for years! Lmao, ngl I was so surprised by the babygirl comment I thought you were talking about someone else. And it's SO funny to me, because there's a character in another show whose hometown is that world's equivalent to Fukuoka, (who I have compared to Hawks before, though really only because he likes shiny stuff and rocks and it's a silly fandom hc that Hawks does too.) If I try, I might find more points, but anyways, some folks from that show's fandom jokingly call him "babygirl" too, so having you - someone completely disconnected from all this, come to that kind of conclusion is GOLD. And yes, I DO agree with you. I don't have the courage to call Hawks that to his face, I have a whole list of varying bird nicknames if you'd like to see them, but baby girl...valid. To cross over a joke about the other guy, imagine Hawks chilling with Endeavor and Jeanist one day, one of them's scrolling twitter and comes across a tweet, "Hawks may have (etc etc, insert whatever) but he'll always be Kyushu's babygirl" cue suppressed laughter, or confusion RE: Endeavor, and "Hawks, why does your home region call you baby girl?" Meanwhile, Hawks:

so with Hawks, I got his backstory and current arc from a fan wiki bc. well yknow. but the main reason i knew he wasn't super involved is bc the show is, for the most part, very centered on the UA students. which makes sense bc it's a high school show and they're the main characters and everything. I did know that there's an arc devoted to the League of Villains and Hawks' involvement with them, but I still don't know the extent to which he's featured there. also I don't condone terrorism but from what i know about his backstory i wouldn't be upset if he just joined them tbh

ty boss man! a lot of that i will say is just the need to Know Everything For Myself. i love other ppl's analysis don't get me wrong, but i can't stand not being able to like. form my own opinion based solely on the canon facts. sometimes canon should be thrown out the window but i'd like to make that decision on my own, yknow? and there's also the fact that i really enjoy analyzing media for myself, but that's especially best done with the source material. again, there's what you said about timing, inflection, and musical score that makes all the difference

Hawks is babygirl. fully and truly. idk if he and Miruko are actually besties or if that's just fanon, but she would probably call him that too. that IS really neat lmao, also i love it sm when a whole fandom collectively decides "yeah that's him that's my bbg" (especially to someone for whom the writers did NOT intend it).

eternally grateful also that i have the capability to watch on my own time rather than weekly, mainly due to the fact that i have no consistency whatsoever as to when i watch TV

i haven’t officially posted my own treasure planet headcanons, so that's what this is! some of this might be ooc but i don't really care because they are fun to think about, so yeah, enjoy!

this is gonna be long so i’m gonna put it under a keep reading

it makes me so sad that they supposedly don’t keep in touch at the end of the movie, so that's where headcanons come in. Jim and Silver went thru WAY too much to not keep in touch, Silver couldn’t leave Morph without being able to see him again either (Silver literally refers to himself as Morphs ‘dad’ in one scene!!) they at least send letters or have some sort of burner phone, with Silver being a wanted criminal and all. for a while they probably just sent letters, Jim talking about the academy and Silver sending little gifts from his escapades such as a lava rock or an especially interesting coin. Jim keeps all the gifts in a box, along with the letters but if he feels especially attached to a gift, he’ll set it on his window sill of on the rim of his mirror. as much as I like the idea of Jim getting Silver a jitterbug/ladybug, realistically Silver would be the one to set the idea into motion. Jim gets a larger gift and its a little phone, made of parts that Silver could scrap together (or on he found in a shop on a traders planet), he immediately sets it up and texts Silver. it was really nice for them to talk in real time and were probably already discussing the idea, even though Silver could get caught, so Jim was really excited about it. Jim now keeps Silver updated on life events and Silver calls every now and then to tell Jim about his travels. Silver hasn’t quite figured out how to send photos but once he does, he starts sending some everyday (including some hilarious selfies, akin to what a dad would post on Facebook).

Silver absolutely visits, for a while it was very, very scarce because he was still wanted but was sneaky enough to come and see Jim every few months. he comes and hangs out at the inn for a few days while his crew is out at bars or stocking up on items for their next adventure, as well as they know better than to fight their captain on his decisions. during these visits, Silver tells Jim (and anyone brave enough to sit near them) stories about what he had seen, creatures he had encountered and wonders they had discovered. Jim tells Silver about his time at the academy, new friends he’s made and what he’s learning, including some complicated stuff. sometimes Jim even get so into it, he brings out a textbook to express his point. while Silver is pretty smart, he has no idea what Jim is talking about (because its usually math and obscure facts) and usually just smiles and nods as Jim rambles. (lol this may be me projecting my ADHD onto Jim but i have the feeling he info dumps to people hes comfortable with)

speaking of the academy, i think despite all the combat training and captaining that Jim is learning, i think Jim would be really interested in math. like a surprising amount. it would probably be difficult to start off but once he did, hoo boy he could not stop. there were some hurdles he had to face but eventually he landed in a pretty advanced math course (not the highest but still pretty up there, maybe like calculus or applied mathematics). knowing some math was important as a captain, having to deal with probability on a ship in the Etherium, but Jim was fascinated by numbers and the way they made up the world. i think he would be really interested in physics or theoretical stuff, which is difficult but i think he could do it. he probably uses his previous experiences in space to help him visualize the math, which helps a lot.

the first time Silver came to the inn, Jim practically tackled him. which was no big deal since he’s almost double Jim’s size, Silver was more worried about Sarah and what she thought of him being a pirate and all. Jim assured him that everything was ok and he asked her but Silver still felt a bit nervous. he felt like he was intruding on her territory. but while Jim had run upstairs for something and Silver stood sheepishly in the doorway, Sarah came over with a smile on her face and shook his hand. he wasn’t expecting that at all, he was more ready for a glare from the kitchen or even a talk about ground rules. Sarah talked to him about how excited Jim was (she was also kind of excited, she had met plenty of pirates and was almost as fascinated as Jim was) and how she was grateful for Silver staying in her sons life. Silver felt much more comfortable after that and they started talking too, (not sure if it would be romantic or not, it would be cute but i love them just being friends as well) they became pretty good friends. Jim loved it, even if they weren’t married or Silver wasn’t biologically related to him, he felt like he had a full family again. when Jim was busy or sleeping, Sarah and Silver would chat over coffee or in the kitchen while Sarah cooked, Silver helping. Sarah would probably rope Silver into helping her at the inn once she learns he can cook and he kind of falls into a routine. come see Jim, hang out, when Jim is busy/out, go put on an apron.

(this one is 100% projecting lol) this is a pretty loose hc, especially since it started as a joke but now i really like it. i think Jim, as well as Silver, is transgender. Jim wasn’t really expecting Silver to be trans, as are most (he passes super well lmao). i mean, many pirates were gay, why can’t space faring ones be trans? hell, Silvers crew probably has a slew of queer folk among them, if not all of them being some sort of LGBT. body modification looks like a regular thing in their world, so i think Silver has already had top surgery, whether he was planning to or not. by that i mean that i think Silver could have been injured, woke up and found that something was missing. worried he may have become more cyborg, he checked, winced and found that bandages had been bound around his chest. ‘well that's out of the way’. despite not wanting to be vulnerable around his crew, most of them if not all of them know he’s trans since most of them didn’t see it as some sort of weakness, it was just who you were. (if ya’ll are interested, i have some crew hcs like gender and sexuality but this post is mainly about Jim, Silver and Sarah)

(continuation of the trans hc) when Jim came out to Silver, there’s a moment of silence between them. in Jim’s head it was awkward, but in Silver’s, things started clicking. Jim was worried Silver didn’t understand and quickly explain but Silver comforted him, and explained that he understood. Jim was the confused one now and Silver quickly cleared that up, explaining that he too was trans. Jim was relieved, confused and surprised. he hadn’t expected that outcome but that wasn’t bad, if anything he thought it was cool. he had more in common with his adoptee-dad than he had thought. Silver now makes sure to emphasis his compliments when Jim is working, hoping to boost Jim’s ego and make him feel better. it works and Jim feels even more comfortable in his own skin. (i have another part about Silver taking Jim to get top surgery but they would need Sarah’s permission first, not that she’d say no but Silver doesn’t want to encounter her wrath xD)

i’d like to think that Silver takes Jim up on his ship, not for plundering but just to sail around. the new crew had already seen Silver in action and decided nobody wanted to question him about Jim, especially since he was causing any trouble. eventually Jim couldn’t really visit Silvers ship anymore, being a Navy officer and all but that was ok, Silver still came to the inn and Jim had his own ship/s.

Silver knows all the drama around town, mostly because Sarah hears it fro customers and then gossips to Silver about it. Silver will come in, say hello and she’ll start, he’ll probably respond with something like ‘no way, they did that?’ and then he’d listen as she worked.

when talking to Jim, Silver refers to Sarah as ‘ma’ and Sarah starts referring to Silver as ‘dad’ since they have become Jim’s collective parents, and it doesn’t bother either of them.

after Jim lets Silver get away at the end of the movie, Silver stays on his own for a while, though no one knew that. he got a larger boat, just big enough for him and he wandered planets, drifted through space, just thinking. he wasn’t sure what to do next, he was a wanted man but he also had no crew. the thought of settling down passed in his mind but he couldn’t bring himself to do it, he was comfortable in the Etherium, he would get cabin fever after a week. so he continued being a pirate, it was rough work but he loved being among the stars, exploring the galaxy. Jim knew this and didn’t want to push Silver to stay at the inn for a long amount of time but they still made it work.

Silver has little experience with children, having none of his own until Jim (i’ve seen people give Silver children as his backstory but he doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy, not that he wouldn’t want kids but he’d have to choose between family life or pirates life. that's too much for him.) the most experience Silver had was with helping people at port and with his crew, anyone young enough to need guidance and smart enough to listen.

Silver loves music but really only know sea shanties, drinking songs and some old folk music, but he can still be found singing with his crew and humming while he’s working. Jim on the other hand listens to a lot of music, especially after treasure planet. (this is assuming they have all the music we have xD) he listened to brooding teenage music before, like Teenage Dirtbag or bands likes Greenday, but now he has a few shanties on his list as well, plus some classical music for when he’s studying or relaxing. he also listens to ABBA, either because he just likes them or because his mom plays them in the inn.

Jim, Sarah and Silver have way more pictures of each other now. the inn now has multiple family photos with Silver included, Jim has a framed image of the three of them and Silver has a little scrapbook. it’s the only thing he’s ok with having on his ship, still worried about being seen as ‘soft’ (even if he is a big softie and everyone knows it).

Silver usually wears a pretty simple working outfit with his nice coat and hat but when he does want to look nice, holy shit does he do it well. sometimes when he’s dressed up he wonders why he doesn’t do it more often just for fun but then he thinks of the countless times he’s had to throw out shirts stained with blood. he would never let that happen to his nice clothes.

i really like the idea that if things had been different, Sarah Hawkins would have been a pirate, and a damn good one at that. maybe she wasn’t in this life but that doesn’t stop the occasional daydream and questions to Silver about his lifestyle. he offers to take her on his boat when he takes Jim and she hesitates but says yes in the end. Jim definitely didn’t get his wanderlust spirit from Leland. (this is a little ooc for Silver but not for Sarah, i 100% believe she would be a pirate) maybe after Jim joins the Navy, he buys a small boat, big enough for him and his mom and they go on trips where they just enjoy the Etherium.

you cannot tell me that the second Silver was out of earshot on the long boat that he didn’t cry his eyes out. motherfucker may know how to hide his feelings but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them, he’s a sucker and he knows it. when he gets more comfortable around Jim and Sarah, he finds himself getting way more tearful from touchy feely stuff. Morph being cute? sobbing. Jim called him dad? waterworks. literally anything that tugs on his heartstrings? has to go to his cabin to cry his eyes out. the first time Jim and Silver met up again, they both just started sobbing.

Silver, Jim too probably, has PTSD (sorry if i get anything wrong, i’m not sure what else to call it) to an extent. it isn’t intense to the point that he gets overwhelmed with emotions and has flashbacks (unless it has to do with his missing limbs) but he does have some nightmares and prepares for the worst in most scenarios. Jim has to remind him that the bang at the door wasn’t pirates, it was just a unruly customer and that the silhouette he saw outside was just a passing ship, not canon fire. Silver apologizes every time, despite not doing anything but switch to his sword and brace but he can’t help but feel bad for worrying them. i can’t imagine the kind of terrors he has about loosing his limbs.

Silver, when he detaches his arm, will forget he only has one hand. sort of like that video with the astronaut back on Earth, but instead of gravity, he keeps handing stuff to his cyborg hand, dropping the item and they being confused when he can’t find whatever he had. he’s just so used to it by now, he’ll even gesture with his missing hand and not realize he can’t convey what he’s doing. Jim has been asked to hand his stuff, Silver will try to grab it without look and ask Jim why he didn’t hand it to him. Jim has to remind him that he doesn’t have his cyborg arm, leaving Silver apologizing. its always lighthearted between them and they joke about it but Jim knows Silver is still bothered by it a little.

Invites his co-workers out for drinks, or he happily goes along if someone else invites him. Actually makes more of an effort to be social as an adult, surprisingly.

Irritates Terasaka whenever he gets to see him...which is fairly often hehe

Also likes to barge into Group 4’s lives...literally. Like he’ll randomly show up to Nagisa’s classroom, sneak onto Kayano’s film set, invite himself into the nursing home Kanzaki is at and befriend elderly people, etc.

No matter what though, you can’t change Karma lmao. He will go to ridiculous and edgy methods in his job, even snoop on government officials outside of work

You DO NOT want him as an enemy. If any politician crosses him, Terasaka tears up on their behalf. “Just try to survive, man.” “Uh, what?” “You’ll see.”

Manami Okuda

It’s not surprising of course, but she’s totally dedicated to her work and research. Her loved ones have to remind her to take breaks often.

Her apartment is generally tidy because she’s barely there.

Her work desk space on the other hand...is hella messy lol. She tends to throw papers around in the middle of stuff, and there are a few old food containers or takeout boxes from late night work.

She likes to tie her hair up in a braided bun often, to keep it out of the way. That’s mandatory for lab work anyways.

Dresses in a lot of casual but comfy attire, like blouses, jeans, skirts and boots, etc.

Gets along well with her colleagues, but she still has that habit of being a little reserved. Like she won’t jump right into hanging out with them, only if she’s invited to.

Her communication skills have improved so much omg, let’s all be proud of her <3

She has a pet chameleon!! It’s name is Rutherford, after the chemist lol

Tomohito Sugino

He actually lives by the strictest guidelines out of all of them

Since he’s a professional athlete, he really has to take care of his body and maintain his physique.

So like...a diet focusing on proteins, vitamins, nutrients, lean meats, vegetables, etc. All that good stuff.

And he works out twice a day. Once in the morning, he goes out for a jog as cardio. Then in the evening, he’ll do a more strength-based workout for his core and biceps.

As usual, he is very social and makes friends super easily UwU. When he’s not focusing on work (this is rare) he likes to make plans with people often.

Can’t handle being alone for too long

Gets confused/annoyed by finance matters a lot lmao. Hates filing taxes and doing paperwork, treats it like a chore rather a necessity for adulting

He has a really popular Instagram page actually, given that he’s a well-known baseball player. He posts mostly selfies, pics with friends, workout mirror selfie’s lmao, and of course pics of his dog

She’s a golden Labrador named Kimi, and he adores her so much. She’s a puppy still but she’s very active and loving.

He becomes a really popular meme for his very tired facial expression during a particularly rough game. Sugino takes great pride in this lmao

Kaede Kayano

She has her shit together...for the most part

Kayano’s fame as an actress only grows more and more as she gets older. She has a ton of awesome big roles, even internationally.

This is canon: she does her own stunts and she always amazes the entire crew, especially if her co-star is new to meeting her and had no idea.

Kayano tends to not always take care of herself that well though. She exercises and maintains a strong physique daily, but her meals tend to consist of like...a flimsy salad and a pudding cup and that’s it.

Her apartment is pretty taken care of for the most part, especially when she’s filming and only comes back for sleep.

On her off-months though, best believe this girl tries to chill at home for as much as she can lol. She needs that well-deserved rest.

Kayano visits Aguri’s grave once every month. She brings her favorite flowers and gives kind of a life update on everything. She cries every time.

During her lowest moments, she’ll open up the yearbook that Korosensei left for her. She’ll read all his encouraging notes, laugh at the goofy memories they made...

She stays in contact with Kanzaki and Sugino the most. It’s harder with Karma and Okuda who have very demanding jobs too...and Nagisa who is hyper-focused on teaching

Gets involved in a couple dating scandals and such because the media is bored and nosy. But she shuts that shit down so fast and ruthlessly.

Yukiko Kanzaki

Adulting definitely comes the easiest for her, out of all of them

At the residence care facility she works at, she’s known for being the chillest and prettiest nurse

Bonds with most of her patients very easily. She especially has a sweet spot for elderly women, since they remind her of her beloved grandmother

She also had learned to be more open and comfortable with expressing herself. Unlike her junior high self, she isn’t envied or disliked or treated as an idol.

She actively communicates with her co-workers and has become better at making connections.

In true Kanzaki fashion, she absolutely will speak out if an injustice happens near her, and this sadly can be common in elderly care homes.

She doesn’t tolerate mistreatment at all. She voices her concerns and objections in her usual classy way, but if nothing changes, she’ll be persistent and more aggressive.

Kanzaki lives in a fairly modest apartment not too far from work. She walks every morning to get fresh air and enjoy being outside. She also stops by a cafe for breakfast and brings something for a co-worker she’s especially close to.

Even though her family could afford to get something way nicer and more expensive, Kanzaki insisted they don’t. She wants to work hard and achieve things through effort.

Besides she’s always been curious about a more humble lifestyle. She finds that she actually enjoys it immensely.

Nagisa Shiota

Hey hey hey, it’s our favorite new teacher <3

Seriously Nagisa is super dedicated to his job. He spends a good portion of his free time making more plans and ideas for future lessons.

He’s also just...such a spectacular teacher.

No matter how difficult his students may be, he never treats them like they’re problems. He always gives them a lot of kindness and respect, which sadly they don’t get a lot from others.

Disciplines in a really good way, like he’ll correct them but won’t sound condescending. He doesn’t sugarcoat, he’ll be honest but absolutely will give new chances.

Also can be totally fun and goofy if the time calls for it. Doesn’t want his students to ever fear him or feel like he’s unapproachable.

Makes learning to be fun and creative, also connects with each student one-on-one for sure.

He lives in a super tiny apartment. That teacher salary bro 😔

Takes a train everyday for a short commute to get to work.

His apartment also is prone to being littered around with a bunch of teaching stuff until he gets to organizing it.

Is generally very liked by his colleagues! Some of them don’t really agree with his teaching style and think he’s too lenient, Nagisa doesn’t pay them mind.

Can cook really well but is prone to buying convenience store meals often, because of his schedule.

Keeps a photo of 3-E on his nightstand.

If you don’t mind, I’m just gonna go full pot on this one! Iorvy is an all-time fave and Eldain seems like a quite interesting elf (haven’t really played/seen much of Thronebreaker, only read the wiki, sorry for probs. butchering his character) who I want to get a deeper feel for. Also, I changed the order on these, just in case folks are gonna get disturbed by my “dark” thinking lmao.

Eldain

He’s an “insider” when the topic is about tea making. Something his dear family member was obsessed with as well and Eldain got “infected” by them. He's an expert in different methods of preparing tea, how different types smell, look and feel between fingertips. Something he absolutely isn’t going to stand is if someone butchers the complete life of a tea while preparing it wrong. Either he's going to rage quit out of the kitchen or dump the whole cup into the sink and prepare it the correct way.

Iorveth

This probably is going to sound both surprising and kind of offensive to the “elves are nature’s best friends” thoughts. Iorveth’s into taxidermy. He doesn’t kill the animals, oh no, but he pays them respect in that fashion. Especially when those are the typical “pest”, that dh’oine kill without even collecting the corpses. It gives him the feeling of doing something right for those creatures, who are being mistreated by the humans. Also, it reminds him of Cedric, the time when he wasn’t looking down to the bottle bottom. When he used to collect those “leftovers” and give them a proper farewell.

Eldain

A mere month or two before the pogrom of 1246 happened in canon, Eldain was performing at a private party consisting mostly of elves. He was performing in a duet, with his younger sibling, Caron. Eldain was the duet’s troubadour while Caron was a skilled fire dancer. Everything was going so well; the audience was mesmerized by Eldain’s melody while Caron was collecting a great amount of applause! His little sibling was the center of attention, swirling and twisting like a flame clad in silk. All went sideways when Caron went to a secluded place by a nearby stream, to get ready for their next grand spectacle. A local group of dh’oine thugs has followed them, hiding in shadows with the darkest intents. Ambushing Caron, when they weren’t on their watch, ripping away their clothing with one thing in mind; to hurt them in every way possible. Leaving them scarred in both senses. Caron’s body was carved open to the dh’oines beastly pleasure. If it wasn’t for Eldain to emerge from between the pushes, alongside other elves, they would probably be killed. Those responsible for Caron’s agony unfortunately escaped. But not for long. After his family’s death during the pogrom, Eldain joined the scoia’teal. His primary goal was to find the people responsible for Caron’s misery and bring them to justice. It was his first time performing torture as a scoia’teal recruit.

Iorveth

We don’t really know much about Iorveth’s past before the Second Northern War, so here’s a little thought on how he may have been “inspired” to join Scoiat’teal. The reason for even fighting against the dh’oine was to avenge his family. He was one of the few “lucky ones”, being part of a family who managed to obtain some sort of “nobility” status. Living in an estate-like home and so on. During his absence, while he was doing errands in a nearby village, his family was in danger. His mothers (inspired a little here by you here ;) ) and other members were being locked up in their family home. The people behind this, slowly after securing all the escape routes, set up the estate on fire. This group of dh’ione ended up standing before the burning building, admiring their “handy work” as they called it. Arriving at the mansion, Iorveth saw all red. It was his first time yielding a sword in his hands and with adrenaline fuelling him, he ended up creating a bloodbath. Completely blinded by rage and sorrow, when he couldn’t hear any screams, he collapsed to his knees. Silently watching the all too quiet house fall into ash. In the end, he left the place of his youth, oathing to avenge both his family and every elf who has fallen thereafter.

in honor of bmc closing here’s some notes I took on my phone after I saw the show in may and never actually got around to posting lol

under a cut cause long

Jeremy’s striped shirt is very reminiscent of Ness’s shirt in Earthbound (hc: Jeremy is a huge Mother fan, he loves Earthbound and he’s played fan translations of Mother 3) (he always wanted a group of friends like Ness has in Earthbound, people he could save the world with. He’s always had Michael of course, but he wanted to be part of a party like in an rpg) (and by the end of the show he does)

Love all the details behind Jeremy’s bed-- empty soda cans, the n64 and NES, and ROB

All the details in the set are great, like the posters at school and in the mall. There’s a poster for the GSA that says “Don’t fear queer”

Jeremy sounds like he’s about to cry as he says “I was just trying to get to my locker” when Rich is writing on his bag :(

Anthony Chatmon is a very cute Jake. He makes him very endearing. He’s very earnest but also a complete dumbass LMAO

When Rich is singing about his penis in the Squip Song, Jeremy points at his crotch and is like “your....?”

The projections behind the Squip people are SO COOL (all the projections are super cool I love them)

“All I have to do is give the Guy Who tor........... ments me six. HUNDRED- yeah he’s scamming me”

I adore two player game!!!!!! The choreography and the projections are great and its a super creative way to make a song where the characters are doing something as visually boring as playing a video game interesting to watch

Michael when Jeremy and his dad are talking is really the epitome of “your friend and their parent are arguing in front of you and you don’t know what to do”

“I think I just blew my bar mitzvah money on a wintergreen tic tac” is SUCH A GREAT line I love it

The squip: “You make everyone around you nauseated” Jeremy: huge smile, mouths “wait what”

The Squip likes to be tall

Literally being able to see the gears turning in the Squip’s head as it watches Jeremy interact with people. It’s absolutely fascinated

The Squip looks so happy and supportive when Jeremy does something good unprompted? Like it gives Jeremy a little thumbs up when Jeremy adds the “She’s french” line when talking about Madeline

Sync up is so awesome and I straight up can’t imagine the show without it now that it’s there. Like I love how Jeremy masters the Squip hand choreography and he’s totally in sync (ha) with everyone else

Okay but I am DYING at the play being set in Athens............. Georgia (like... I went to school there! Go dawgs!) (I saw a production of midsummer once where the “you’ll know him by his athenian garb” meant that Demetrius was wearing a bulldogs sweater)

The Squip is absolutely BAFFLED when Jeremy is talking with Christine and being a huge fucking dork and she’s actually into it. And it’s just fascinated by here. Love it. I think it realizes then and there that she can’t be as easily manipulated as someone like Brooke, and I think that’s why it tries to kind of steer Jeremy away from her.

The Squip is like. So pleased with itself during all of Guy I’d Kind of Be Into

“DID YOU KILL EMINEM” “Noooooooooooooooot exactly” (low key the funniest line in the show)

Brooke and Jeremy are actually really cute and I get really sad for her cause she clearly likes him a lot and he just ends up hurting her (which was not his intention, but like, it still happens)

You can see the beginnings of the Squip’s plan forming as it watches everyone sing “I’m tired of being the person that everyone thinks that I am” during Upgrade

Loser Geek Whatever is. God. So relatable. And so many lines in it hit me so hard because like, someone put that experience into words

You can see Michael on the screens in the set walls saying Jeremy’s name for a second after the “optic nerve blocking on” line

I need a recording of the intermission music it’s so funky and I love it

I LOVE brooke’s dog costume it’s adorable

Jeremy says “fucking incredible” while the Squip is dancing during halloween

The Squip rolls its eyes at Jeremy for not realizing that Chloe is hitting on him and gives Chloe a look like “I know, he’s so oblivious” when Chloe laughs at Jeremy for not getting it

Chloe falls over on the bed during Do You Wanna Hang

The Squip flops face down on the bed when it gets shut down because of the alcohol and then it just stays there for the rest of the scene

Literally everyone in the audience gasped when Jeremy called Michael a loser

Michael does some of the same choreography from Two Player Game during Michael In The Bathroom and it hurt my heart

“pucking your way through the cast of midsummer” okay but what cast of midsummer HASNT had that one person that dates/hooks up with multiple people in the cast

I realized that the reason the Squip tells Jeremy that he has to leave NOW is cause it knows Rich is about to set the house on fire, not because everything else went poorly for Jeremy

Rich set a fire is SUCH a fun number, I love everyone’s slippers/pajamas and I love Brooke throwing her banana peel off stage and flinging her headphones off

I love Jeremy’s outfit in the scene where he yells at his dad. He looks really good okay, even if he’s being a dick

Pants song is lovely, also at the “do you love him” line there was like a record scratch sound effect (Michael: yup, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I got into this situation.)

God... I love Pitiful Children. It manages to be funny at the beginning and then it turns into an incredibly threatening villain song by the end of it... Extra disturbing because Jeremy is so into it

I LOVE everyone’s costumes in the play - all the sequins, and I love Brooke and Chloe’s wigs. (Bit unrealistic that those would be costumes for a high school play but they’re so cool I’ll let it slide)

Gotta mention Jeremy’s vocal glitches, they blew my mind. Can’t believe Will Roland just does that (also I’m sad the line about vinyl isn’t on the cast recording cause that was low key my favorite glitch)

Troy Iwata’s Michael has a different jacket for VIMH. He’s got a Japanese flag patch and there’s a different thing on the back. I couldn’t read it but it’s different from George’s. The details!

Voices in my head is lovely and it makes me so happy

(Sorry I still can’t believe BMC didn’t get nominated for at least sound design cause the sound design was amazing. Imo it also deserved a lighting design nom. Sigh. Maybe if they’d gotten more Tony noms it wouldn’t have closed so soon.)

But yeah. It’s been two days and I already miss BMC on broadway. But I am looking forward to the show having a very successful future being licensed for school productions and other local productions!

i’m just gonna dump all the shit i rambled about to shan last night. to give you an idea of what my leon portrayal is like ‘til i... make a proper about section on the google doc lmao

in my hc leon is desi—his family on both sides are from india (or whatever pkmn's equivalent is; copperajah is said in its dex entry it's from a far away region). his mom's parents were immigrants and his father's family had been in galar for a while. he's not too tied to his culture due to having a bit of a gap between him and his family since he became champion but he is fluent in hindi thanks to his grandparents wanting him to learn it when he was small.

during the game he's around… twenty-one? it says on his league card that he started his journey at ten, so i'd assume he became champion at ten as well. the game says he’s an adult, and also says hop remembers leon telling him he’d become champion so leon would have to be eighteen at the Least since hop is still a kid (around like fifteen imo). ANYWAYYYY he’s still pretty young!

when he was six and hop was still a few months old their father died from illness and it shook him pretty hard because he was attached to his dad, more so than his mom, and that’s such a young age to lose a parent and he never really knew how to cope with it.

the thing is though was he was forced to grow up too fast. his dad dying when he was young, he felt like he had to fill his role as hop was growing up (sonia did say leon “practically raised” hop). but going on a journey at ten and becoming champion at ten kinda tore him away from his family and… well. he had his childhood stolen from him. at ten he had already started questioning his gender identity but hadn’t come out yet, so his sense of identity being skewed while forced into the position of champion and becoming this icon and role model when he was still so young.

they called him a prodigy, becoming champion so young and on his first try, and everyone who had watched him during the league challenge had already noted he was insanely skilled as a trainer, not losing to a single trainer once. leaving his friends sonia and raihan in the dust, basically, and taking them both down in the champion cup. and then rose started saying he could be a hero — because galar needed a hero in the years to come, he could be like the old heroes of galar leon always heard stories about (and leon had excitedly asked him if he could wear a cape, since he was going to be a hero now!), and what ten-year-old wouldn’t love to hear that? the chairman himself acting like the father he had years ago, but there was something different in his eyes that leon was too young to notice.

i should mention, at ten he basically becomes his family’s main breadwinner.

at twelve he figures out his Gender Stuff and confides in his friends and hop (who excitedly calls him his big brother immediately) and at thirteen he comes out publicly and not long after manages to convince rose to help pay for his name change (and rose had agreed, of course, but his smile didn’t really reach his eyes—leon was too starstruck to notice, or care). rose also helped him with changing his image a bit, pulling any merchandise, commercials, ads, etc with his face on them and replacing them with new things more suited to who he really was now. at that point something in his relationship with rose shifted, but he was too young to notice then—when he looks back on it now, in hindsight, it gives him a foul taste on his tongue.

at sixteen he gets permission to start hormone therapy, and at seventeen he gets top surgery. sonia and raihan are there for him the entire time and leon had already started noticing he had some Big Feelings towards raihan even before this (maybe since they first met as kids, even). raihan always laughing with him, teasing him, holding his hand to lead him places whenever he got lost. raihan sitting at his bedside post-surgery showing him funny videos on his phone while he was stoned from painkillers… but leon staring at raihan’s face more than at the phone screen… basically, this boy is GAY.

once the eternatus stuff happens… this is basically what rose was grooming him for to begin with. to be the one to defeat and catch eternatus and “save” galar. to be the “hero” rose always told him he could be. but being a hero doesn’t sound so appealing anymore when it’s been drilled into you for over a decade until you don’t have a real grasp on your identity outside of hero, outside of champion (who is he now, really?). it’s not so appealing when you’re standing in front of a three-thousand-year-old, sixty-five-foot-tall monstrosity oozing venom who brings back galar’s darkest day. and then it beats you, leaves you crumbled against the ground as two children, one being your brother, brings it down and saves the day.

(he wasn’t the hero this time, and he has mixed feelings about that.)

he wakes up in a hospital bed with a searing pain along his ribs, like he’s being burned, like his skin is coming off and he cries from the pain the moment he wakes up and then the memories come rushing back, everything that happened to put him here. and he cries more. and when the nurses come in to give him medicine and change his bandages he still cries and falls unconscious again. when he wakes up again sonia is there, and then raihan is there, and raihan holds his hand and smiles at him. tells him that he may be the champ, but he shouldn’t force himself out onto the pitch just yet if he’s hurting. but leon being leon goes out there three days later.

and he loses.

(people say it’s leon’s first lost in 11 years, but eternatus was truly his first loss.)

his title of champion taken from him, and he doesn’t know who he is anymore even though he has so many people in his life that love him. so many fans that love him whether he’s champion or not. he strikes one more pose in the pitch despite the searing pain in his body and grins even if there are tears stinging at his eyes.

ughh im rambling anyway leon figures out who he is outside of being champion eventually but it’s a Process. but… he gets there! slowly but surely. and he learns how to be happy. starts the battle tower, takes the role as chairman when rose is carted off to jail. has more time to be… himself. in the league cards it even says he seems livelier in the battle tower… anyway, i love him,

Saitama:

- He’s the only one who get’s kind of awkward about it, lets be real lmao. Thankfully it’s only during the first phase of a deep relationship. And it’s not that he doesn’t feel sympathetic, he’s just definitely out of his element in doting on others. Saitama has a way of ignoring issues that don’t concern him personally, and this may mean he’ll give you lots of space during your week. However, if you need him close, he’ll answer any text requesting his aid. He’s really chill and not really judgmental about it after the first: “Ehhh, WHAT’s happening to you?”

- His methods of doting on you are the standard fare. He ensures you have what you need! If it’s: Medication, sanitary supplies, or your favorite foods. He’ll keep his eye on sales to stock up on stuff ahead of time, and he gets irritated on your behalf for how expensive some of the stuff is!!

- If you’re the type to get lethargic, he’ll want to cuddle you, because he might not be used to seeing you so down in the dumps. It would worry him at first, but after a while of being so close together, whenever he sees you in bed with the covers over your face, he’ll know what’s up. He won’t say a word, but he’ll sidle in next to you and take a nap with you in his arms—(he’ll be sure to give you a squeeze and a sweet kiss every so often.)

- If it’s very painful, to the point where you freeze up and wince and writhe in agony—Saitama will HATE that he can’t help you more. He’ll try to enlist Genos’ help if that’s what it takes to make you feel better. And he’ll insist you take some time off from work or school; he’ll goad you into staying at his place and it’ll be very hard to argue otherwise. He can be very stubborn about your wellbeing.

-Also, if you are the type to get angry over little things, he’s pretty damn affable, and he’ll forgive and forget most misunderstandings lol. Lucky you! (p^-^)p

Genos:

- Oh boy. He’s ridiculous.

“(Name)! Are you alright? Please let me know if you require my assistance. Have you added my number on your speed dial yet? Here allow me to do it for you! I’ve researched many forms of medicine on the market that may help relieve your symptoms. No, it’s no trouble! Please, stay sitting—I’ll get you want you need!!” -and he blurs into motion when he needs to write down new data in his notebooks about you-

- If you’re the type to be low-key about your monthlies... Either you suck it up or grit your teeth in order to get through it. Genos is hard to fool, and he’ll be able to deduce what’s going on. In the worst case, this guy has his phone in his hand ready to call an ambulance. Or worse, he’s looking up the Mayoclinic website trying to determine if you have some form of appendicitis. I would recommend being plain with him, even if he get’s rather ahead of himself sometimes, because calming him down gently is easy.

- He’s so on top of everything you need, and this is one of the most extreme ways he prepares to help you. He will take everything 3 to 4 steps further than Sonic or Saitama in his efforts to supply you with your favorite chocolate or sweets or whatever you like. He will even research upgrades and lavish you with gifts if you let him.

- In his less “extra” moments, nothing can beat the way his body is a natural heater. If you’re laying in bed or lazing around Saitama’s place when he’s not there. Genos will take to hover over you, watching you keenly with his black and yellow eyes gauging your temperature, heart rate, etc.

He’ll prop himself up on one arm, kind of taking a “prince waking sleeping beauty up with a kiss” pose. His other hand will gently whir and pulse with warmth as he rubs it over where you need him most. The cyborg will be your personal hot water bottle, and while he’s so close you’ll be able to pull him in for as many kisses as you want.

- You may not feel so good about your appearance since you may suffer from bloating or maybe some breakouts, but never fear! I think Genos would always be the type to lavish you with compliments. And they’ll never be lies or fillers just to make you feel better either, his compliments are always about things that can’t change. Whether it’s about your kindness, your work ethic, your eye color, or the way your lips look so kissable to him. He’ll always make sure to remind you why he loves you! <3

Sonic:

- I imagine from his village there is a natural remedy to help ward off some of the worst menstruation symptoms, and it’s probably a hugely guarded secret that’s been passed down for generations. If he sees his s/o suffering, he will gladly gather the ingredients himself and make it for them! And if he’s serious about them, he’ll teach them how to make it for themselves.

-He will generally take care of them rather slyly, I think, as he doesn’t want to offend you or belittle your ability. Maybe if you’re laying in bed feeling the pain, you’ll feel a breeze over your skin, and he’ll be suddenly standing there offering you the remedy and a drink to wash it down. He’ll make sure you take it, nod his head, kiss you quickly, and vanish.

- He can be derisive about other people’s problems, but he is keen to stay on his s/o’s good side! If they have mood swings or are generally feel crappy during their week he is mindful and cautious. He will most definitely exploit any sweet spots his s/o might have about certain things in order to keep them in a good mood. Oh, this movie makes them happy no matter what? We’ll watch it. When they get mad, if I kiss them on their cheeks they melt? I’ll smother them in kisses then.

His eyes will be watching you carefully, taking everything in for his consideration so he can make you happy, safe, and sated.

- At the start of the relationship much like the others he is very blunt about it and doesn’t get grossed out. He IS the type to snap back if you get too testy with him. Arguments may happen, but at the end of the day, he understands biology is giving you a serious burden to bear. No matter how badly your anger flares at the stuff he says, or the things he does, he’ll kind of go stony and let it wash over him.

“Alright Alright, I get it!” He’ll say.

“Good!” You’ll snap and cross your arms.

“Good!” And with that usual stony expression he’ll wrap you in his arms. (Admittedly it might feel like a headlock.) Sonic is adamant about not fighting over trivial things, and he shows his undying affection in weird ways.

-Oh yeah, Sonic is actually a really good cook! If you need more calories to sate your hunger, he’ll probably whip up some real gourmet food for you! <3

ok y’all remember how like two days ago i was cryin in the Least Formal manner abt henry’s coping mechanisms & childish nature well here’s a proper(TM) hc post abt it strap in m’dudes here we go i don’t promise it’ll make sense but y’know i will Try

first & foremost , i wanna point out specific traits that henry possesses and then i’ll like... go into depth abt them or whatever but alrighty :

01. finding jokes / amusement in everything , even if it is not appropriate to do so 02. a desire to please / obey based on a perceived reward system , even if that reward is simply an absence of punishment 03. a fear of pain despite desiring death ( & an exciting death at that ) 04. the idea of ‘ power ’ vs ‘ weakness ’ / a closer look @ certain fears

k so here we go . . . first off , if we look at henry’s childhood it was not a happy place. the closest thing they had to positive companionship was animals , the love of other human beings a foreign affair from their earliest memories. even prior to the institution , things were not good & i imagine , that like most children , henry tried very hard ( at first ) to gain their parents’ love & affections ( there’s some quote that goes like . . . ‘ mother / parents are god in the eyes of a child ’ & i think that held true for some length of time ?? they v much wanted to please these beings who brought them into the world bc they were , despite it all , very precious to henry ) via being a ‘ good child ’ i.e. trying to do as told , regardless of what it was. while i don’t believe their parents simply dumped them in the woods ( the translations from jpn supports seem to suggest they did ‘ raise ’ them ) i do believe they were heavily neglectful , most likely not people who wanted a child at all but got stuck with one nonetheless. there was nothing henry could have done to make their parents fond of them , but ?? that is not a concept they will recognize until later.

so with that said , from that henry started to learn this idea of ‘ people pleasing ’ that they address a few times ( the most prominent ones that come to mind are their comment about ‘ if you don’t trust me , you can just kill me ’ & some comment that is made to robin about how the only order they won’t obey is ‘ don’t fight ’ , but i’ll address that a bit later on ) and the concept that they didn’t matter particularly , just the whims of those around them , something that was further expanded upon in the institution they were sent to.

from what henry says , we can assume it was not just an orphanage or place to house ‘ unruly ’ children. they mention spikes being on the floor & in a conversation with olivia they state ‘ It was in this institution my parents put me in, right~ there were quite severe punishments for kids who didn't listen -- that kind of stuff happened~ Now that was painful~ ’ which i am positive instilled in them a sense of obedience , further than that which their parents began. if you acted out , if you failed to do as told , if you fucked up in any capacity , you were subjected to extreme pain & near death experiences ( & frankly , i’m sure henry did watch some kids die while they were there ; accidents happen & no one seemed to care very much for these kids ) and henry has , without a doubt , been subjected to such pain themselves. which is where this idea of pain = bad , death = good likely begins to stem from as well ; pain is a prolonged thing , a very bad thing , a sign that you had done something wrong & it could hurt for very long periods of time , whereas death , they began to see , was instant release. to some degree , they were likely jealous of the kids that died , because at least then those kids were no longer suffering , never having to feel pain again. from this whole experience a lot of shit stemmed , not just that.

beyond just this concept of pain is bad , death is good , & a need to do as told , they were forced to normalize certain things at a very young age , those things being death , murder , blood , violence , pain , punishment . . . etc , etc. essentially , very bad things. being a kid , ‘ normalizing ’ them meant . . . not making them a ‘ comfort ’ per-se , but making them familiar in a way that wasn’t negative. to fear or hate them would have been too much for them to handle , so it had to become a game or an ‘ okay thing ’ & as such , henry’s fascination with war / blood / death became a coping mechanism , finding familiarity in such things as it was all they ever really knew and were unable to think of it was ‘ bad ’ ( on some level they are , of course , aware that it is not. a good thing. but to face that prospect is to face a lot of other shit that a child simply wasn’t prepared to do & that now , as an adult , henry is somewhat incapable of doing at present time bc their mind sort of ... stuck ??? them ??? in a child - like state because maturing was too difficult in the given environment ) and to a child if something isn’t bad then it must be good --- right ? thus comes the commentary of ‘ i love war ’ & a general chill attitude toward really morbid shit. but , beyond that , i think what they really appreciate is that they have this very familiar situation and where they are currently , they are not a victim of it. which brings me to point 04.

henry is not sadistic , in the sense that they do not find joy in the suffering of others & even go so far as to promise quick & painless deaths to people important to them b/c they understand that pain is a terrifying , awful thing. however. they do enjoy being in a position where they are ‘ powerful ’ i.e. in a position where they can inflict these situations vs. having to merely take them , though i think they vastly prefer like . . . giving quick deaths vs. painful ones , when they are on the battle field.

essentially henry is a scared child ( ‘ child ’ they’re an adult but y’know. childlike mentality. ) who doesn’t want to be hurt anymore but only recognizes carnage as a ‘ norm ’ & takes comfort in the fact that they now have a position in it wherein they may die , but they’re not a victim. they feel safer in this familiar environment , the way things are now. fear , i think , is a big motivator for them and they see a lot of things in a . . . not necessarily ‘ black and white ’ sort of sense , but a. ‘ if this is a thing then x isn’t ’ sort of ?? way ?? and there are exceptions and henry is capable of having in depth conversations abt it but like . . . they don’t want to lmao ?? not if ur gonna argue w/ them. so there’s that.

but that also brings me back to the ‘ don’t tell me not to fight ’ point from earlier. what i personally take that to mean is like . . . ‘ dont tell me to sit back and be hurt / let someone be hurt ’ bc that is , in a way , playing the victim again. being powerless in this sort of a situation. while henry is a very submissive person , they desperately don’t want to be hurt or put a helpless situation ever again. there’s a difference between people pleasing and letting yourself be put into a place where you’re actively suffering & can’t do anything about it.

oh yeah also henry is aware they’re coping lmao ,,, they know they use laughter and smiles and childlike behavior and the normalization of fucked up shit to get by , they know it’s not. actually ok. as seen in one of the convos they have w/ ... owain or inigo idr which rn but it’s one of them. so they’re capable of mature convos. abt this sort of shit but they : ) don’t like to have them : ) as much as they love oversharing that’s the sort of stuff u gotta like... fish out of them & they gotta be close to you before you get to the bottom of that can of worms so.

anyway i’m not sure this post had much of a point and it’s a bit all over the place and maybe unclear in some spots but this is how i chose 2 spend a solid hour of my life so here we are...
