03. Sensitivity
Heiji Hattori x Male Reader

Masterlist | Previous / Next |
Back in your hotel room, you got down from Heiji's backâlimping in slow waddle motion like a penguin towards the bed, too exhausted to change (besides the shoes, which you kicked off) out of clothes and into more comfy ones, laying down onto the bedâmoaning out of pain and frustration as your legs still aching and the once dulling pain, from the icepack, flaring up againâwanting nothing more than to sleep, even when it would be such a few hoursâmigraine already pounding and adding to your burden of current health issues.
»Where did ya put yer medications?« asked Heiji, taking off his jacket and cap, crouching down to your open luggage already.
»In that...uhh...tiny thingy....that bag with the first-aid logo...« you mumble out, eyes closing every so oftenâseeing your boyfriend only in a slight blurriness, glasses laying somewhere on the bed next to you.
Heiji searched through your clothesânoticing its mostly his clothes, which you never had given back when he had lend them to you, always finding it cute whenever you would wear themâand the few books, mystery crime novels and mangas, you brought alongâhaving found the neon-green bag quickly and zipping it open.
»They ain' in here.« Heiji had looked in your medical-bag twice and besides the other various pills and medicationsâantidepressants, anti-anxiety, pills for insomnia, painkillers and so onâyou had to take more than often, the ones for migraines weren't in there though.
»No! That can't be!« you cried out in disbelief, sitting up instantlyâmoaning out from the upcoming pain againâcrawling off from the bed, letting yourself tumbling down onto the floor and moving to your luggage.
You rummaged through your clothes, tossing the books and everything bulky looking outside and doing a double check againâbut nothing, absolutely nothing.
»I had them packed! Heiji! I swear I packed them! I couldn't just forget them!« emphasising your words, you looked at Heiji with a stressed expression and wobbly lipsâraking your hands through your hair, gripping it tightly.
Besides the few times, in the very beginning when you had freshly started with your medications, you had never dared to forget themâdouble-checking twice whenever you pack your bag, making sure they all were there when needed.
So getting told one kind of your pills aren't packed in the bagâas they should be thoughâmakes you questioning yourself with some doubt about your still remaining capacity of independency.
You let yourself fall down into the pile of clothes, burying your face into the fabrics, doubling over from the next upcoming headache waveâand damping them with your tears.
»Hey, hey, my sunshine it's gonna be alright. I'll go to the pharmacy real quick and get ya some of yer painkillers,« assured Heiji you, rubbing your back in comfort.
»You....can't. All my medications....they are....prescriptions...« you shook your head, knowing that Heijiâeven when he meant wellâwouldn't be able to receive them, not without an official authorisation permission from your Doctors.
»Nah, Imma get ya some painkillers. I promise. Just, stay here, I'll be quick.« Heiji leaned down, kissing the top of your head and throwing his jacketâlike a blanketâover you.
~~~
When Heiji had reached the Central Pharmacyâa far bigger one with much more logistics than the smaller shopsâthe sun had completely disappeared down the sky by now, making space for the nightâand although the night had started, the streets are still crowded as if it was midday.
Stepping inside, Heiji was greeted with the cool breeze from the ACâan stark contrast to the still warm air outsideâwalking up to the reception, greeting the Lady politely and stating his kind of problem.
Heiji hoped, despite him not having the needed prescriptions or permission papers, they would be understanding enough to gave your medications out to himâotherwise if not, he would have to buy you some low dosed cheap ones and those kinds wouldn't be strong enough to relief you from the pressuring pain.
Heiji knowsâfrom first hand experience, during the time when you both had freshly started to dateâjust how strong your migraines could be, how painful they are for youâremembering well that one time, where you collapsed all of suddenâwithering and doubling over in painâalmost crushing his hand, when you had to endure the pain for the rest of the day without any painkillers.Â
»Of course. Do you have perhaps any other sort of authorisations ID with you? Otherwise we have to clarify check any information of the patient with what you know and if you can't get a score of at least 85% we have to decline your request.«
Heiji took his wallet out, getting his own ID and the Emergency Cardâwhich he had gotten from your Parents, after your kidnappingâhoping those were sufficient enough for clarification.
»Aah. You don't need any official authorisation documents from the doctors, if you have the Emergency Card with you as it serves as a permission clarification just as well and is more easily to scan and grand access.« explained the lady, chuckling a bit in amusement.
~~~
After unlocking the door with the keycard, getting inside and closing the door with a slight kick of his footâHeiji sat the bags down onto the nightstand.
»[Name]? I'm back. I got ya painkillers and brought us some snacks and drinks too,«Â
When Heiji didn't saw you laying on the bedâforgetting that you had decided to stay on the floor, instead of moving backâhe checked the bathroom and when he found it void of your presence too, Heiji felt a minimal panic rising upâtill he remembers where you were and sighed in relief.
Kneeling down to you, Heiji shook you gently awakeâhad you really fallen asleep in your open luggageâdroving his hand through your hair and caressing your cheek.
Stirring awake, you looked at Heiji with squinting eyesâthat bit of sleep, which only seemed to have lasted for nothing more than 30 minutes, was clustering enough for your eyes.
»Hey Sleepyhead, ya think ya can get up?« asked Heiji, already turning your body sideways slightlyâsliding his hands under your back and knee pit, picking you up.
You only mumbled an »Nuuh« out, rubbing your eyes.
»Thought so,« Heiji placed you down onto the bed and you sucked in a breath once you felt the softness of the mattressâholding back an moan of pain, when Heiji stretched your legs out.
Fairly awake now, you sat up a bit. Taking the bottle of Cola from Heijiâhands shaking slightly as you popped in two pills and gulping down half of the bottle.
»How did you.....«
»Emergency card.«Â
»A what?«
»Emergency Card, got it from yer parents, after.....ya know.....and it serves like a permission slip too, apparently way easier to scan and grand access«
Nodding, you took another sip of your Cola. Must be something new as you never heard of it and neither Mrs.Tanaka or Dr.Akiyama had mentioned this so called Emergency Card before.
»Look what I got ya from the pharmacy as well! The pharmacist says it will help sooth the pain and cramping in yer legs.« Heiji fished out a tube from the bag, showing it to you before unclasping it.Â
Pouring a good amount of cream-gel onto his hands, Heiji started to smear it on your leg and you didn't know what caused itâthe icy coldness of that cream, Heiji's hands alone or the flaring sensation of painâbut your leg jerked up and crashed almost with Heiji's face, if he hadn't moved away quickly.
»Waa...whaa....what are you doing?!« stammering, feeling a rush of heat in your face, you looked at Heiji as if he was out of his mind.
»Massaging yer legs?«
»Iâ why? Youâyou.....you don't need to!«Â
If it weren't for those stupid cramps and that horrible pain, you would have moved your legs away in an instant and hiding them in the blankets.
It's already bad enough that your legs are bareâso nakedâbut that's your own stupid fault though as you had decided to wear shorts after wall, simply because you never were a person for jeans or any long pants.
And it wasn't because of your naked skin that you didn't want Heiji near your legs, but because of all those scars you had nowâwhich you had received during your survival fight with Daiki and they were a constant reminderâespecially your silted wrist scarâof how weak (and what failure) you areâwhich you didn't want Heiji to see.
Because you couldn't stomach those thoughts, that Heijiâthe man you loved so much with a love so deeply rooted in your heart, which collides every so often like a wave within a wave and crashing onto the land, sending you skyrocket high like ecstasy would doâfound you ugly and unattractive.
You're uglyâhad known this ever sinceânever believed in the delusion that you're pretty or even remotely close of being attractive in the slightestânot like all those other boys and girls and sometimes you wonder why Heiji dates you, when there are other people out there which are much more attractive and better match for him.
Such thoughts alone brought the tears welling up in your eyes and as if you weren't already an emotional wreck beforehand, you now felt even more like a burden of deadweightâsniffling, you rubbed your eyes in a desperate attempt to make these damn tears stop.
But they didn't stop, flowing more and more like a waterfallâthe first sobs coming through your wobbly lips, clamping your mouth shut to hold them offâbecause dear god, these fucking thoughts alone of Heiji frowning upon you with disgust and judgement would send you into self-loathing and resentment
If strangers gave such stares and scrutinising you with their eyes of judgment and trash talking gossip, you wouldn't give a fuck and walk around with confidenceâbut Heiji is no stranger, he's your boyfriend and his opinionâhow he views you as a human beingâabout you does matter.
»Hey, hey, what's with the tears? Is it the pain? Are yer migraines coming back? Ya want another pill? Hey, c'mon talk to me, Sunshine,« Heiji grabbed a tissue from the nightstand, wiping his hands off.
He wasn't sure what caused the sudden sensation of tears in youâthere are too many reasons for it to be, to discerns the right causeâbut whatever it was and even when it would be a dumb reason, Heiji wanted to make it stopâtaking the cause of your tears away from you.
With the intake of your medications there had come a certain amount of emotionally sensitivity with it and on some days even a simple âThank youâ or just seeing the sky above brought you to cry.
Heiji had taken ahold of your wristâfeeling the bumpy scarred skin beneath his fingers and a beginning of a thought as of why you seemed in tears crossed his mindâprying them in a gentle manner from your face.Â
»Hey, hey, c'mon what's the matter? Ya can tell me, ya know?« Heiji tried to coaxed it out from you, wanting to hear it from yourselfâwith your own words of voiceâthat you're feeling insecure, but you stayed silent and perhaps he have to approach this minor bump with a bolder take of action.
You glanced up at Heiji, just for a momentâalready expecting an expression of disgust, but were met with nothing of the sortsâa soft smile gracing his lips and your poor heart soared at such sight.
Heiji leaned down, ever so slowly coming near and nearer towards your face, till his lips collided with yoursâhis hands coming up to hold your head, stabilisingâand closing the proximity between the two of you.
Eyes fluttering shut, lips moving along the motions and butterfliesâno, fireworks sparkling in your stomach and your heart burned like a flame.
Once the kiss had ended, Heiji pecked your lips once more before moving awayâthe both of you looked at one another.
»[Name]. There's no need to feel insecure or ashamed of yer scars. Ya might not believe me, but there ain' a thought crossing my mind of me finding ya ugly. I could never stop lovin' ya and if I ever shoulda do, a lightning shoulda strike me into deaths arms! And ya know why?«
».....why?«Â
»Because, silly, I love ya for who ya are and not for how yer look. Simply as ever isn't it? I love ya and only ya.«
Heiji had engulfed you into a hug, pulling you close and let himself falling down to the spacey side of the bed, bringing you alongâthe both of you forgetting momentarily your cramping legs.
You wanted to laugh, hiding your face in the crook of Heiji's neck, that's a similar thing what you have once told himâwhen he had asked you, why you never got mad at him for mostly standing you up on dates and choosing crime solving over you.
»How 'bout we both take a nice hot bath together and then I'll massages ya legs till these nasty cramps are gone, does that sounds good?«
»Yeah, that sounds about nice,«
~~~
When Heiji awoke in the middle of the nightâthe TV, which played now some sappy love dramas on the channel instead of the movies they watched before, being the only light sourceâthe first thing he did was to check on you.
Knowing that you're well and next to himâsafe in his arms, where he could hold you close and not fearing you might would vanish forever into nothingâgives him a feeling of relief and happiness, builds him up with confidence and strength to not give up so easily whenever he felt like he wasn't enough.
You had your own load of insecurities and so does Heijiâbecause sometimes he felt as he wasn't a good enough boyfriend for you, that you deserved way better, that's he nothing but a failure who couldn't even keep his vows to never let you get hurtâbut your sole love and how much faith you had in him was enough.
Oh baby I can't stop my love for you,
because this heart belongs to you and only you
Heiji Hattori x Male Reader
Masterlist | Previous / Next |
Sitting on a bench, all by your lonesome selfâin a park during the late evening hours, where the sun starts to set ever so slowly and casting shadows over the cityâand waiting for Heiji to return, you hoped at least he does, was nothing but boredom.
You would have, after the argument with Heiji, gone back to the hotelâif it weren't for your legs still crampingâsending electrocuting waves of pain whenever you moved an inchâand aching with scorching warmth in discomforting pickling numbness.
Your legsâwhich had taken the most damage during your kidnapping (and any other accidents you might have encountered)âare really useless now, aren't they?
You scoffed out a laugh, hitting your hand against your thigh on purposeâignoring the painâwanting to feel the this permanent uselessness, which would forever remain now in your life, once again.
You had long accepted the fact, that you probably never would be able to run great distances anymoreânot without putting a massive strain into your muscles and bringing up the nerve wrecking painânor participating actively in the many courses and club activities you do as most of them required the use of legsâlike gymnastics, traditional dancing, theatrics and of course Qing Mado.
While you could live with it of not doing your other activities at all anymoreâthe thought of having to quit Qing Mado all together now, gave you unpleasant feelings.
Without Qing Mado you felt as if you really are nothing and useless. This particular material-arts had given your lifeâwhen you had been an angry child back thenâa new perspective, brought a feeling of worthiness and confidence in you.
You blinked away your tears of self swallowing pity partyâthere's nothing you could do about anyways.Â
You thought about texting Heiji, asking him when he would possibly finish, so he could pick you upâbut you didn't want to bother him any more than you already had.
~~~
You shirked loudly, flinching visibly when something cold touched your cheek. Snapping your head to the side, you looked with wide eyes at whoever it wasâcoming face to face with Heiji, who looks apologetic at you.
»It's just me, didn't meant to scare ya......look, I uhm....I've got ya Cola and an Ice-bag« Heiji took a seat next to you.
»Fuck off.« you frowned up at him with a glare, feeling a rise of anger. You weren't in the mood to see Heiji and neither do you want him around you at this peculiar momentâeven when it meant, sitting the whole night on that bench.
After all, what right did he had to come back to you, after saying something so cruel to youâleaving you behind all by yourself as if you were nothing but some discarding toy he got bored off and then had the audacity to be here, spooking you and believing when he offers a Can of Cola you would greet him happily?
Heiji ignored your cussing at himâknowing it's deservingâdoesn't give a reply back, pulling you with a swift motion onto his lapâstretching your legs on the remaining space of the bench out.
You bit onto your lower lip, holding back to cryâmore like screamingâout in pain, when Heiji had done that, the sudden movement of your legsâwhich you hadn't moved in the last few hours, to keep the pain at bayâcaused a high spiking wave of something akin to getting stabbed over and over again.
Something icy cold had being placed on your legs and while you could hold back that cry, the upcoming moanâwhich were so shamefully loud and you're glad no one, besides the two of you, is in the park anymoreâyou couldn't, not when the coldnessâwhich swept through your skin and into your bonesâfelt like such a relieving bliss and begun to numb the scorching hot pain.
Taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes and out of habit you laid your head against Heiji's shoulder. Enjoyingâdespite you still feeling angry at Heiji and wanting nothing more but to push him down onto the ground or hitting his legs just as hard as how your legs feltâthe warmth of his arms, those strong arms which always makes you feel safe and secured, around you.
»Knew it would help with ya pain« Heiji commented it so causal as if he wasn't aware, that he's the cause of your current situation of discomfort.
Heiji knew what he had said to you, wasn't something light to shrug off. He had hurt your feelings and you had every right to be mad at him.
Heiji would apologise later to you, telling you that he didn't meant what he had said to youâbut now he just wants to hold you close in his arms, showing he's here and not leaving you anymore aloneâthen he had already doneâwhen you needed him.
»Shouldn't you be at this crime scene and searching for a potential serial killer?« you asked, tapping the Cola Can with your fingertips before opening it and taking a few sips from it.
»I figured they don't need me and that they're very capable of doing it without me.« he tells you admittedly and because Heiji realised what massive asshole he was towards you.
»This is......nice.....just you and me, I wish to have such often.« there's a underlying sadness in your voice as you spoke in a whisper, nuzzling more into the crook of Heiji's neckâand when Heiji had taken a long sip from your Colaâafter you had offered him the Canâhe had tightened his hold around you.
~~~
Eventually you begun to doze off in Heiji arms. Your soft breathâbesides the rustling leaves from the every so often breezeâwas the only rushing sound in Heiji ears.
»I'm such a big idiot, aren' I?« the question was a whisper to himselfâclenching his eyes shut when a stringing wetness started to build up.
Despite what Heiji had said to youâthose cruel things of words, which he spewed in a heat of momentary small rushed childish anger and weren't meant to be trueâyou never were at faults for what happened to you as Heiji believes it had been his.
Because if Heiji hadn't so loudly and overconfidently proclaimed that he wouldn't leave your side and keep you safe, as promisedâbut did it anyways, dropping you in a heartbeat to do what he always does, going after crimesâthen you wouldn't have been taken and it also wouldn't have ended in you getting hurt.
Once the wind had picked up on coldness and the sun sinking even further down, Heiji nudge you awakeâout of your dozing,Â
»C'mon sleepy prince, let's get ya back to the hotel«
».....can't walk....«Â
»I'll carry ya, my prince,«
01. Arguments
Heiji Hattori x Male Reader
Fandom -> Detective Conan/Case Closed
Masterlist | Previous / Next || Hey, Brother || Based Song
I can't stop my love for you
I'll become your everything, I believe in your promise to never let go of my hand as we walk
The day had started goodâweather sunny and temperature mildly warm, a good transition from Spring to Summerâwhich put a stop to the called Winter-Depression, freeing the soul and make it glow with love for life againâand overall a perfect day to do some adventuring outside.
After getting ready in your hotel roomâstill too shy to sleepover at Heiji's house (and in all sworn secrecy honesty, you're still intimidated by his father)âchoosing a oversized shirt in light blue with prints of stars on it andâbesides of how your legs are looking nowâsome shorts to wear, deciding against a jacket todayâyou made your way towards the lobby and outside, where Heiji promised to wait for you.
It wasn't your first time in Osaka, had visited the City more than once within the last two yearsâbut it always brought excitement, when you visit again and doingâdespite knowing the spots alreadyâsightseeing with Heiji, who lights up like a child on christmas whenever he could show you his city once again.
Heiji greets you with a smileâone of his bashful one, which makes your heart soar from the sight aloneâtaking your hand in his and started to tell you about the placesâyou had seeing more than triceâhe's going to show you and the restaurants you two would try out.
Sometimes Heiji could be a gluttony, when it comes to any food stall or restaurant in Osakaâalways liking to try out new dishes and wanting to eat as much as he could.
»Which Restaurant did you pick this time?«Â
»I thought about one of the local ones, where we had went last time. Probably the one with the spicy takoyaki.«
You hummed in response. Spiciness was another topic for itself, while you could stomach only a bit of itânot more than one (milde) spicy dishâbefore it brings your stomach into uncomfortable cramping rumblings, Heiji couldn't seem to have it spicy enoughâadding, when the food was already labelled as Extreme Spicy, even more to it.
Although those spicy Takoyaki were indeed delicious and you aren't against it to eat them againâperhaps more than your stomach could tolerate.
~~~
You hadn't thought much about itâidly strolling with Heiji through the streets and looking at various shopsâwhen you saw the third police car passing by in a speed, but when a fourth car passedâHeiji pulled out his phone and dials a number.
You raised a eyebrow at your boyfriend, not in the mood to overthrow today's current plansâwhich you had looked forward toâand visiting a potential murder crime sceneâonce againâhaving to spending the remaining day, without even having lunch first, there and just standing around like accessories (or a liability).
Before you could ask Heiji, more like reminding him not to chase any criminals down today, he had already ended the callâpocketing back his phone, grabbing your handâmore like sizing your wrist in a tight gripâand dragging you through the crowds of people.
At some point he had picked up on speed and once reaching the park, Heiji begun to runâforcing you to do so too, his grip on your wrist a tad bit tightâand when the first crampsâwhich you had felt way before alreadyâstarting to spread like prickling needles, you know what's about to happen.
»Heiji! Heiji wait! Please, slow down. We need to stop, Heiji!« you shouted, begging your boyfriend to slow down with his runningâwhile dragging you along.
Your legs started to cramp up even more, the sharp pain which shoot through like electricityâdrew a hiss from your lips.
Heiji did slowed down, letting go of you, stopping in his tracks and turning around to you.Â
»C'mon don't be such a slow poke now. There's a crime scene, probably the next victim of that rumoured Serial Killer and we need ta be there, before the police close up their investigations!«
Bending down a bit and huffing out a breath, placing your hands on your tightsâgripping sightly into your skin to accumulate the pain, at least hoping to do soâyou furrowed your eyebrows, frowning up at your boyfriend.
»Heiji, IâI can't anymore. My legs are hurting and I need to sit down.....and besides you don't have to be at every crime scene, you know? The inspectors and police officers can handle this on their own. So why don't we just continue with what we have planned for today?«
»As a Detective I hafta ta be there!«
»No you don't! You're actually only a Highschooler and no Detective. You can't just beâ«
»Oh really? I'm no Detective?«Â
»No you aren't.« you didn't elaborate any further, not having the nerves to discuss this topicâwhich always seems upsetting for Heijiâonce again and trying to explain to your Boyfriend why he technically and theoretically isn't as of current a Detective at all.Â
»Well it's certainly not my damn fault that ya being so stupid and got yerself kidnapped and having useless legs now!«
»Heiji?! Now you're being meanâ«
»Ya know what. Just stay here, so ya won't be a bother for me.« Heiji scoffed, the annoyanceâtowards youâshowing on his face, turning around and started to jog awayâleaving you behind.
~~~
Sitting on the bench, after limping back through the park, you tried to hold yourself together the best you couldânot wanting to break down and cry, because that's what seemed to be the only thing you're doing anyways these daysâgetting sensitive about everything and being a big nuisance of an crybaby, appearing weak.
It hurt what Heiji had said to you and if these were his honest thoughts and feelings towards you, than it's cruel that he hadn't told you such things soonerâbecause if he had, than maybe you wouldn't feel like wanting to dig out your eyes or hiding in some dark corner somewhere.
It's like a damn curse that wherever you went, be it with Heiji or Conan and Ran, there always happened to be a murder caseâas if they were a magnet for such monstrosity crimes or more like, they're the death-angel themselves.
And of course these Cases always had priority over every- and anything, making the minds of certain people blank and nothing else seemed to matter anymore.
You're not against itâfar from such thoughtsâthat Heiji wants to be a Detectiveâhe's a brilliant one and you would support his decision of career the best you couldâit's just, sometimes you wished he wouldn't leap right away into the depths of potential danger all the time and risking his life for justiceâand sometimes you wished.....(it sounds selfish).....Heiji would be just content enough to only spend time with you.
Hey, Brother do you still believe in one another?
15. Osaka Trip - Survival
Heiji Hattori x Male Reader | Platonic! Shinichi Kudo x Brother Reader
Fandom -> Detective Conan/Case Closed
Masterlist | Previous / Next |
My friend, I can't wait to see you again
You're my hope, you're my everything
We can fly if you believe in my love!
Getting shot two times in a rowâeven when the bullets were only grazing your right leg and upper arm and missing its target, burying themselves somewhere else deep intoâwasn't fun and never would be to remember.
You stumbled a bit, cursing loudly when the pain flared up, but didn't stop in your running. You didn't even know where to run and hide to, not knowing the areaâwhich looked more than just devastated empty of any civilisationâyou're in.
Somehow you ended up in the ruins of a empty schoolâeither elementary or middle schoolâit didn't matter, right now Conan and you needed a place to hideâto catch some breath and rethink of a new tactic to survive this psychopath.
Picking up on your speed, you run insideâtrekking the stairs up to the second floor, kicking open one of the classroom doors and ducked inside.
Leaning against the wall, you pulled out your phone, reading Shinichi's SMS once, twice and a third time again.
Dialling your brother's number, holding the phone against your ear, you waited with bated breath for him to pick upâhoping to hear his steady voice of reassurance again.
âApologies, this number is currently unreachable, please try again later.â
Biting down onto your lip, you slid the wall downâclosing your eyes and taking a deep breathâclutching your (f.colour) flip-phone, with its silly keychains and the few even more silly stickers on it, against your chest.
Nothing had actually changed, hasn't it? How desperate stupid could you any more beâbelieving, especially in that falseâhope crushing and heartache bringingâSMS, that Shinichi would come back at all.
Asshole. Asshole, asshole, assholeâShinichi is such a fucking asshole.
When you needed Shinichi the mostâin a situation where you felt nothing but inner turmoil of being anxious scaredâhe wasn't there.
At least not when it comes to you, because you're certainly sure that he calls Ranâwhen she's scaredâthat's Shinichi's only priority, besides solving cases and being a wannabe detective.
»[Name]......?«
»I can't do this, can't do this......it's pointless.....I'm dumb, so fucking dumb....«
»No [Name], don't give up now! We're gonnaâargh!« Conan couldn't finish his sentence, feeling a shock of electricity through his bodyâbeing grabbed and thrown to the sides.
When Daiki found you and Conan, he had easy play with youâpushing you onto the floor and kicking you against your already bruised stomach and you were like a helpless doll again.
»Mhm, should have destroyed the damned phone right away when I took you. Now, let's see what made you so defiantly.«
Daiki read the SMS, grinning wickedly as he kicked you in the stomach again when you were about to get up. A scoff left his lips, dropping your phone to the ground and stepping onto itâbreaking it in half.
»No!« you shouted, looking at him with wide eyes.
The only message you've gotten from Shinichiâever since his abrupt disappearanceâthe only sign of him, that he was still aliveâstill here, somewhereâand hadn't abandoned youâwas now crushed like the last bit of hope left in you.
You glanced at Conan, feeling guilty with what you were about to say nextâadmitting defeat, for once, freely. Though with what Daiki had said next, brought a wave of anger back.
»Hah! You really believed such trash? Please, we both know that your dear brother is nothing but a liar. Don't fool yourself.«
»Shut up.«
»Huh? Repeat that, I didn't quite hear that, dear.«
»Shut the fuck up! Don't you fucking dare calling Shinichi a liar ever again!«
With an uproar you sprung back up, pushing Daiki with full force into the tables and throwing one or two chairs onto him. Grabbing Conan again, holding him against you, you run out into the hallwayâoverthinking every route of escape you could take and decided for another drastic move.
Setting Conan down, you pulled off your jacketâputting the jacket then onto Conan, hood over his headâand taken him back into your arms.
»What are you doing [Name]?!«
»It's gonna be okay, just close your eyes and hold on tight.» you hugged Conan closer to you, arms secured around him. Taking a deep breath and then you sprinted towards that one window where you knew was a roof overhang below.
Hah! Sport tournament was nothing against a good old jumpâthrough the second floor window, you thought. Picking up on your speed, ignoring the next grazing bullet against your leg, you jumpedâtwisting your body in a way that your back collided with the window, sending you crashing down onto the tin roof and pressing the air out of your lungs.
The short moment, in your free fall, of where you had seeing a glimpse of the darkening sky above youâreminds you of what you always would fear, death itself.
And while death itself scares you, even though you had days where you are close to step into the realm of afterlife, the last shimmer of sun-rays brought back a wish of once lost dream.
Getting up, had you no time to regain your breath, smashing the next window and stepped with Conan into the first floor. Another sprint, time was sacred now, searching for another place to hide in.
~~~
Hiding in the girls restroom, was a good decision or at least sounded like one. Sitting Conan onto the counter, you barley took a glance at yourself in the mirrorânot wanting to see the brutal truth of ugliness and insecurity in it, which is just a reflection of you.
Rubbing your face and leaning against the counter as well, you let out a tired sighâbreathing heavily as you tried to regulate your breath again.
Your lungs burned, feeling so sandpaper dryâlike your voice used to be hours agoâand your body ached from exhaustion. You wanted nothing more than to sleep, god, does sleep sounds so promisingâso peaceful.
Fishing out a package of cigarettes, a lighter and two small bottles from the jacket, you lighting one up and took a long drag from the cigarette, letting the burning smoke invade your already heavy lungsâwhy you had cigarettes packed in the jacket, Conan didn't know and he also didn't knew that you smoked, but that was a question for another timeâbefore taking the cigarette and pressing the tip onto your wounds.
»You know Conanâ« you begun, didn't know yourself why you start to feel so nostalgicâso sentimentalâand wanting to share a memoryâfrom your childhood, so pure and with so much happiness in itâabout Shinichi and you with Conan.
Perhaps it was because time was running out and you wanted to cherish in the past again, once last time.
Or maybeâand that's sounds more likelyâit's the mix of morphine and adrenaline you gulped down, seconds ago, in one goâlike a shot of vodkaâchoking on it as the taste was anything but pleasant and taking it on a empty stomach was not good, wanting to vomit up right awayâbecause apparently you still weren't feeling mad-hatter and joker enough.
Whatever it might have been, in this moment it just felt right to share this sacred moment.
»Just mere moments ago, I wanted to give up once more. For final this time.«
»And why didn't you?«
»Besides the asshole insulting my brother? A thunder of thoughts, a flashback, struck me.« you stopped again, smiling at Conan and ruffling through his hair.
And then you told Conan about the most treasured memory you had;
It was during elementary when Digimon had its rookie-start in the TV. Shinichi and I would've watched it everyday and the openingsâand few songs in itâhad me so awestruck with joy, that Shinichi once begged our parents to buy him a walkman with the tape.
Shinichi didn't wanted any other presents for his birthday, except for this and when they gave in and brought itâShinichi, proudly and happily grinning, had giving me the walkman.
Telling meâin all seriousness he could muster with his chubby faceâthat whenever I would start to feel sad againâback then, our parents already knew what started to happen with me, but all Shinichi and I knew was that I was feeling immense sadness and sometimes painâit was also during the time, where I tried to drown myself in the bathtub for the first time and I will never forget the frightful and worried face of my knightly brother on that dayâI should listen to the tape.
Because Shinichi had believed, that when I listened to the tape, the sadness would go away and somehow it didâbut not really because of the music itself, but becauseâand it took me some years to understandâof Shinichi himself, who always acts so selflessly just to make me laugh.
Conan never wanted to tell you so badly, that he's Shinichiâthat he's here with you, like how he always promised you and that there's no need to ever be sad again, because your brother is here and everything is gonna be alright.
But Conan couldn't, just couldn't do that. It would brought you more trouble and in dangerâmaking you another target for the Men in Black and being an achilles heel to himselfâthan you already had.
The truth would cause more harm to yourself and could bring you into, perhaps, final collapse with your fragile mental healthâand the thought of you being mad at him, Conan just couldn't stand and wouldn't forgiving himself for it.
»And whenever we've listen to these songs, which I still do nowadays, Shin-Chan would tell that all our dreams and wishes would come true.«
»Did they come true? Your dreams?«
»They did. At least for Shin-chan, who is, besides my wonderful boyfriend of course, the greatest detective of all times«
»And what about you [Name]?«
»Me? Well, I don't think I ever really had something akin to a dream or goal in life. Till now. Meeting Heiji, you, having the people around me which I love so much, make me realise something,«
Taking off your necklace, which had Heiji's promise-ringâand a pendant with Shinichi's and your parents names (and birthstones) engraved on itâlooped in and putting it around Conan, tapping his nose.
»Besides me wanting to die on some days, it is worth to live after all. So I'm gonna promise you Conan, here and now, that I won't die tonight and neither will you. We're gonna survive this night and see the sunrise once more.«
And then you told Conan the next steps of your new reforming plan. Telling how you will smash Daikiâeven though the fucker deserves a headshot, but Shinichi once said; killing someone out of self-justice, makes you not better than a murder themselvesâinto the ground and making him regret everything he had done.
Living like you're dying isn't living at all
We are, we are, we are gonna be alright
We got, we got, we always got the fight in us

Reaching for the Stars, even if they are far away
It's the beginning of a new dream,
I do still believe
Getting into the house, where you presumably being held captured, was fairly easy for Conanâall he had to do was to climb on some trashcans (or whatever else stood there around) and pickpocket the small bathroom windowâand for once Shinichi felt thankful, sending gratitude to the above, for being shrunk into a Child.
Letting himself fall down the small distance from the window to the floor, Conan tried to be quiet as possibleâeven though, he knew Daiki wasn't in the house anymore as the man had went out around thirty minutes ago and didn't returned, so it was safe to say that Daiki would be gone for some timeâan hour or two probablyâin case of there being a partner, ventured through the bathroom and into the hallway.
Conan listen, straining his hearing, for any kind of noisesâthe ones out of ordinary, like televisionâbecause a captive victim would and could never watch televisionâthere weren't any and Conan sighed in relief.
Now, Conan thought, where could you be? There wouldn't be many options in this house and it didn't seem as if there was a basementâso the only few options to hide you away, holding you hostage, would be in a bedroom.
Conan took a wild guess, which he normally wouldn't doâas guessing in any kind of way is a unpredictable, uncertain mathematical process and could lead to an wrong conclusion or answer, a incorrectness evenâbut time's running thin and so he went straight upstairs to the bedrooms.
Conan found you in the second bedroom, laying on the ground and being covered with heavy blankets. It's strange that the door wasn't locked as you would have the chance to escape anytime soonâbut Conan found out why the door never would be needed to be locked.
»[Name]? It's me, Conan, I'm getting you out of here.«
Conan kneeled down to your lumpy form, shakingâin what he guessedâyour shoulder, whispering loudly enough for you to hear.
»Oh Conan, that's real sweet of you......but I don't think I can escape this.....«
Your voice, besides your mumbling of an replyâwhich Conan could barely hear, with how quiet you spokeâsounded hoarse and husked roughâsandpaper dryâas if you had screamed your throat and lungs rawâand every use of your vocal cords felt like a strain.
»What do you mean, you can't? Please, [Name], get up! You need to get up!«
Conan shook you again, trying to get a rise out of youâto get you up, even when it would mean he somehow has to carry you outâbut to no avail, you didn't moved an inch.
When he shook you harder, moving your body more to the sides and hearing the rattling sound of chainsâConan halts in his movements, being frozen in a stupor.
»See? I told you, I'm not able to escape this. Go without me, Conan. Save yourself instead of me.«
You turned towards him, tired expression morphing into a gentle smileâwanting to let Conan known, that it was more than just okay now to leave you behind hereâin the clutches of Daikiâmoving the blankets away and holding up your wrists to symbolise just how serious you were about this.
Even with the small nightstand lamp, could Conan see how raw and bloody your skin had been rubbed under the metal of the chains. Chainsâmore like handcuffsâwhich were around your wrists and ankles.
Conan gulped, balling his hands into fists, looking at your faceâwhich shows more than just mere exhaustion, a sort of accepting death with batting eyes and how loopy you looked to bedâand hoping to still see this certain glint of survival and life in your eyesâhoping, almost prayingâwanting to begâthat you hadn't completely given up on yourself and your will, which is still a dwindling desire of tightrope act depending on a day's mood, to live.
ConanâShinichiâtoo had seeing you close at entering death's door twice alreadyâwishing desperately to never have to repeat such heart frighting fear againâand it had been moments like these, which thrived is sense of protection and justiceâbecause all he ever wanted was to protect you, his dear little brother.
So hearing you say such things, such nonsense of wanting to stay here and being freely a victim of everything possible inhuman injustice doingâsurged a wave of anger through him and Conan wanted to scream at you for being so insensitive, ignorant, stupidâselfish evenâbut then, while gazing at the hidden sadness in your tired eyes, he was reminded of Narumi.
The anger turned into a heartbeat of sadness and frustrationâtowards himself for not being able to be here, even though he was, at your side and lending you the strength and support you neededâalbeit all that, Conan knew what he must do, to bring at least a bit of feistiness back in you.
»You can't give up now! Not when Shinichi has called and said he will be home soon! So, please [Nickname], get up! Aren't you a fighter?!«
»Did he now? Thank you Conan, but don't be silly, Shinichi never calls anymoreânot me at least......oh, silly boy, You only can be a fighter if there's something worth to fight for.«
»No, no! He did call! I promise you he did! Iâwait here, I'll get your phone and show you!«
You didn't stop Conan when he sprinted out of the room. Wouldn't be able to, not with how tightly you're chained at floor. You also hadn't the heart to tell him that your phone wasn't hereâDaiki had probably destroyed it already by now.
But you found it endearing how Conan tried to give you one more surge of positivity in this dry situation of possible doom.
Conan returned back some minutes laterâtaking a few deep breaths to make it believable for you, that he really went searching for your phone, instead of letting known that he had it with him and sending you a SMS from his second phone.
»See! Shinichi did call and wrote you!« like an excited Child, Conan hold your phone upâshowing you what's on your screen.
1 Missed Call from Shin-ChanâĄ,
1 SMS from Shin-Chan⥠;
Sorry for the late response. Had some tough cases to solve, will be home soon, [Nickname]. Don't worry too much and congrats for your wins, will always believe in you!
â Shin-chanâĄ
You sniffed, lips wobbling and tears already spilling from your eyes as you read the SMS. You were confused how Shinichi could send you an SMS, when you were certain you had blocked his numberâthen again, with how many times you had to change your number, you couldn't remember if you had or not.
Not that you cared about this in the moment, because all what matters right now, was that Shinichiâyour dear brother, which you sometimes thought would be forever goneâhad wrote you after all these damned months of uncertainty and waiting in which you worried yourself sick.
Too good to be true, too good to be true. It's a fraud, a trick. Shinichi wouldn't send you a SMS, he doesn't care about you. A lovely meant lie it is.
»Don't be silly......Shinichi wouldn't text me, he doesn't care......don't be stupid.« you muttered, frowning at Conan
Conan frowned as well, anger starting to flow back and getting the worst out of him. What happened to you? You never were one to quit so damn fast and easily, so why? Why now?
»Since when do you give up so easily like a coward?! Aren't Heiji and I and the people you love worth it to fight for? Why do you stop now to believe, huh?! You promised to fight as long as you have faith!«
Maybe, you thought, glancing at Conanâwho resembles so much Shinichi in younger years and looked at you with pleading eyes of upcoming hopeâShinichi is truly coming back home now and if that's trueâeven when it would just be another false hope in the endâthan you might stand up one last time again.
Because the last thing you wanted, was the disappointment Shinichi would feelâwhen he knows you hadn't given it your all, that you didn't fought back like the fighter you promised him to be.
»Okay, Okay. We're getting out of here, munchkin. Bring me a knife from the kitchen. Time to free myself from these dumbass chains.« you told Conan, who nodded and sprinted out of the room again.
~~~
Conan looked at you with raised eyebrows, uncertainty written in his face. Breaking open the chains with a mere kitchen knife? Yeah, he wasn't so sure if that's gonna work at all. Not to forget that you could easily cut open your arteries in the process and bleed out.
You only smiled with a burst of self confidence at him, sitting cross legged on your makeshift bed.
»Daiki won't be back till Ten pm, said he's getting......a uhm surprise. Anyways. Gives us enough time.« you told Conan, starting with the cuffs at your ankles.
Sliding the knife in between the tiny space between your skin and the cuffs, you twisted itâso that the sharp side faced the metalâand started to bend it upward. You repeated the procedure a few times, ignoring the sharp strings whenever the knife slipped away and cut into your skin. Soon enough your ankles were free.
The handcuff like chains on your wrists took a bit longer as it wasn't all that easy. Though, slicing two times a bit too deep into your wrists, you were able to break out of them easily as well.
While you, in a drastic wayâbecause in your words, searching for the dammed keys would take way too long and you had the right strength for it after allâbroke yourself free from the chains, Conan let his eyes wander over you.
In all honesty, Conan didn't want to know what Daiki had done to you. Not with how your skin looked likeâall bruised up, bloody and beat and colours of blue, purple, green and yellow mixing together as one.
Only four days had went by since you were kidnapped, but four days and these endless hours were enough to inflict you more than enough harm.
Your oversized shirt rose up a bit, showing the marksâvarious shapes of bites and cutsâaround your thighsâand once again Conan felt not only anger flaring up, at Daiki for violating you in so many inhuman ways, but also disappointment in himself again because he wasn't able to protect at all, like how he promised he would.
The pained hiss from you, broke Conan out of his thoughts. Focusing back on you, Conan watchedâhis stomach slightly aching from the the sight, with how bloody and gory like your neck looked likeâhow you bend the barbed wire, which acted as a chain around your neckâand Conan thought how absolutely insane Daiki has to be, to use wire in such waysâand freeing yourself from it.
»Okay, okay. How did you get in here Conan?«
»Through the bathroom window downstairs, but I'm not sure of you fit through it...«
»We'll try. Okay, now first I need some shorts and a jacket and then we go.« you said, more to yourself.
You felt much more secure after you pulled some shorts on and fresh underwear as well. During these four days, being so nakedly exposed to someone like Daiki, was more than just sickening uncomfortable.
~~~
Once outside, Conan looked for Heijiâwho said he would wait outside and keep watchâbut he was nowhere to be seen.
Heiji also didn't answer his phone, when Conan tried to call him for a fourth time.
»And where do you think you're going, darling?«
Fuck.
Scooping Conan up in your arms, you bolted in the opposite direction from where Daiki stood.
Open your eyes and you will defeat the fear, which chains us
Because the world is waiting for us

Words like violence Break the silence
Come crashing in into my little world
Can't you understand oh my little boy
Pleasures remain So does the pain
You wished to be deafâwanting, if you weren't chained, to stab repeatedly something into your eardrums and making them bleedânever wanting to hear your own voiceâthe banshee like screams of horror and pain which came ripping, like a claw, through your throatâever again.
The sounds of skin slapping against skin, his fawning breath with his heavy breathing and grunts down your faceânext to your earâand your own disgusting shameful moansâwhich are mixed with the cries and screams of begging him to stopâjust stopâand the breathless gaps of whimpering in betweenâare an cursed reminding melody in your mind.
Bloodâyour blood, so crimson and rich in colourâwhich, now dried and sticky on your skin, leakedâbeside the white sperm, out from your below and leaving a puddle to lay in behind.
Daiki wasn't gentle (and never would be) like Heijiâwhenever you both had sex, when that certain magnetic pull came over the both of you and bringing forth a passionate lustâno, Daiki was mercilessly and brutal.
Daiki had rammed, without warning and any preparations, inside you and with such a force it got you bleedingâbut he didn't stopped, thrusting even deeper into you that you thought........what did you thought?
Ever since Daiki had you locked upâin sense of being bound, chained, to an room you couldn't escape out formâyour head feels like a constant static, buzzing with way too loud sounds of crashing and hissingâa chalkboard scratching in your brain it was.
Consciousness comes and goes from youâbarely awake during most times to really gather a proper sense of thoughts and neither aware of the surroundingsâstuck in a dreamlessâsometimes hauntingâlimbo of surrealism with its absurdity of illusion and loss for the reality you should feel to be in.
Minds so full of a daze, you believed first you're shitfaced drunkâonly having come close to it, during a Disco night with Sachikoâand that's why you could barely remember in gathering your own thoughts.
But even so, if that would be the case, then why is this loopy feelingâwhich spins your head like a carousel aroundâstill present?
A pressuring pain hammers in the back of your head and echoing through your skullâand even with this loopy feeling, you knew a Migraine was coming.
Migraines either coming in a hurricane full force or slow crawling towards youâwhichever way it was, the immense pressuring painâwhich could make you black out sometimesâwas always the same and without any sort of painkillers or ice cold baths to help reduce it, the pain was unbearable to even consider to be awake at all.
Sometimes it got so badâwhen your ears starts to feel clouded up with cotton, a shiver down your spine and the sensation of numb tingling through your bodyâyou had the urge to vomit and cruel up.
And although knowing how awful your migraines are, you rather take this sufferingâthan the pain Daiki inflicts you with.
Daiki says it's love and you beg to differâthis is anything but certainly not love, because what he does to you is a twisted thing of humanity rottenness.
~~~
Unlocking your chains, Daiki hoisted you up and carried you into the bathroom downstairs. Sure, whenever he does itâquite frequently as Daiki likes, what he always would say without being asked, his dear husband nicely clean after rounds of endless love makingâyou could made a run for it, but with how loopy and tired you felt, it wouldn't be far.
»I know, I know, dear. You having a headache, but I'm here and got what you need.« hushed Daiki after he draws a bathâwith too much bubbles in it and a strong fragrance smellâand sats you in.
Pouring a cup of waterâthe temperatures way too hot for your liking, skin melting it feelsâover you and tilting your head back, Daiki shows the bright orange pill which he holds up.
»See? And I'll give it to you, if you giving me, your perfect husband, a kiss~« to prove his point, Daiki places the pill in between his lips.
Staring blankly at Daiki, you weighed this generous offer outâDaiki wasn't really a kind person and when he does such small gestures of kindness to you, it always end up with another stab of pain afterwards.
Kissing Daiki on your ownâand not having his lips being forced on yoursâwould feel as if you really had cheated on Heiji nowâit's already bad enough that you, unwillingly, slept with Daiki and this alone makes you ashamed enough and guilt riddenâand you couldn't do that to him.
Would Heiji even still want to be together with you, when you eventually break free from this starting of hell? Probably not.
»Oh?« was all Daiki said and in a flash of seconds, forced you underwater.
Your legs kicked up, splashing water everywhere. Mouth agape in a gaps of shock, letting the water inflate your lungs.
There's definitely a difference between trying to drown yourself and getting drowned by someone elseâand the latter sparked more fear in youâas it resurfaced back the memory of when you were a child and accidentally slipping into a park pond, which also makes you hesitate to swim and step into water ever since.
Back at the surface, above the water, you coughed and coughedâgetting the water out your lungs.
You wonder, if you somehow managed to kill yourself while being hereâit wouldn't be too much of a disappointment for the others.
Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Once upon a time I was in Love
Now I'm only falling apart
Total Eclipse of the heart
Warning -> Mention of sexual assault and explicit content
Do you feel my heat on your skin?
Take off your clothes
Blow out the fire
Don't be so shy, shy, shy
Your flush heated faceâwhich was not only sweaty from excessive up building heat, but also covered with his seeds, he had poured over you hours agoâand your glassy eyes, which shone with spilling tears, brought a hidden lust filled beast out of Daiki.
It's the way how you moaned outâthe slight gaps you do whenever he bites your skinâand how you squirmed in whimpers beneath him, whenever he thrust himself deeper into your tight little holeâwhich brought the excitement for Daiki.
Daiki had many women before, had countless times sexâalthough more than once monotonous and not stimulating enough, despite doing his usual routineâwith them, but you're his first boy to fuck into oblivion and good old loveâand the expression you made, how your body responds to his simple touches of pleasure, could never be compared to what he had with women's before.
From the moment he had seen you in the Discoâyour beauty beyond compare, how your body moves and the way your voice soundedâDaiki knew you're definitely something special and he would do anything to have youâafter all, you're his one true love, his destined partner from the fates themselves and his meant to be househusband.
So taken youâkidnapping is such a vulgar word to use and he only took what was rightfully his in the first placeâwas rather, disappointing, easy as all he had to do was; walking towards you, slinging his arm around youâthe way he had seen Hattoriâyour Boyfriend, which that dumb boy isn't in actuality as Daiki is your only husbandâdoing it and injecting you with a little dose of sedatives.
Once back homeâonly a temporary home though, for the meantime he has to train you into being the perfect submissive househusbandâDaiki brought you upstairs and laid you down onto the blanket covered ground, chaining you upâa precaution to keep you close and out of possible self inflicted injuriesâand undress you right away, from clothes he deemed not fit enough to your beauty.
Caressing your naked skin, starting from the neck and all the way down to your legs and what lays in between, Daiki really wants to ruin your beautiful pure like skinâwith bite marks, scratches, bruises and blood pouring wounds.
He might had to inject a much higher dose of sedatives into youâbecause you had struggled and fought against him immensely on the first day, when you awoke from your short slumberâbut look what it got him at the end!
You moaning loudly beneath him, arching your backâhips bucklingâwhen he made you come a third time, after thrusting into you much deeper and with more force, filling you up with his seeds again.
~~~
Sitting between your legs, Daiki repeatedly stabs the small knife into your right thigh. Glaring at you, he wonders why you weren't responsive anymoreâwere you already tired? Couldn't be, he only had sex with you for a whole day, but then what could it be?
Daiki grinned, an idea forming in his headâknowing a good way to bring you back into the mood.
Placing your right leg over his shoulder, Daiki took the knife and inserted it into yourâstill leakingâhole, moving in and out before twisting it around and ramming it deep inside.
The way your body jerks upwardsâat least trying to as the wire around your neck holds you back and drew a breath sucking gaps from youâand how you started to scream, was such a pleasing sight to witness.
»That's what you like, don't you my little whore? Oh dear, tell me sooner you want some small jabs of pain during our honeymoon sex«
Daiki pulled the knife out, continuing to stab wounds into your thighs and arms, tracing your skin and cutting once in awhile into itâbefore tossing it away, placing his hands around your neckâmaking the barbedwire dig deeper into your skinâand starting to choke you into unconsciousness.
I can't decide wether you should live or die
Please don't hang your head and cry
This tainted love you've been given
I give you all a boy could give
Tainted love, oh, tainted love

If I could turn back time
If I could find a way
And you'd stay
Sachiko shirked loudlyâgaining looks of confusion and judgment from the by passing people in the shopping districtâdropping her shopping bags to the ground in shock and gasping like a fish, even though they don't need to, for air.
Droving with both hands through her hair, clutching it, Sachiko turned her head in every directionâspinning herself aroundâand tried to find something, someoneâsearching for you.
But you are nowhere to be seen, because you're gone. Gone. You're gone.
For Sachiko it felt as time stood stillâfreezing her in the spot where she was standingâwhile the surroundings of hers continued to move on as if nothing had happenedâas if the crime, which just occurred in front of everyone, didn't caused a notice and disturbance in the daily routine of living flow.
Taking a sharp inhale of breath, Sachiko felt breathless. She only had turned aroundâsome sign had catches her eyes and you were still right beside herâfor a mere few seconds and when she turned back, to tell you about that signâwhich was local shopâyou weren't there.
Is thisâthe way her chest tightens, so painfully she wanted to cry out, coldnessâdespite the mildly warm temperatures todayâsweeping through her body and bringing her bend into a shudderâhow a Panic attack feels like?
Sachiko couldn't tell, wouldn't know, as she never had experienced such and only being a comforter for youâwhen you had them.
Taking out her phone, cursing loudly when it slipped from herâshaking and clammyâhands and fall down onto the pavement, Sachiko feltâonce she had picked up her phone againâlost to whom she has to call.
Sachiko's finger hovered over Shinichi'sâold and deactivatedânumber, wanting to call himâthe first person which popped up in her mind instantlyâas Shinichi is (or had been) after all your emergency contact.
But that's an impossible thing to do now as Shinichi is gone as well.
Sachiko slapped herself against her forehead more than once, rubbing her faceâstaying crouched down and inhaling deeply the air, she still felt she didn't quite have, again.
Stupid, stupid, absolutely stupid, Sachiko thoughtâberating herself for forgetting about the fact that Shinichi is gone, but wanting to call him anyways.
Like, as if the automatic voicemail of; We apologise, but this number is currently not available anymoreâwould help in such, any, situation and neither would make it Shinichi magically appear back.
»Dumb wishful thinking« she scoffed in a huff, feeling ashamed afterwards for such thoughts and berates herself again, because such wishful thoughts are helping you to pull through hard daysâthe ones where you want to just lay in bed forever and giving everything and yourself up.
So Sachiko called Heiji, despite him being at a crime scene currentlyâbecause honestly, it's like a curse or something, whenever they went somewhere there always seemed to be a murdering happenâbut she couldn't care less about this, as the Inspectors and officers are capable enough to solve this on their own, without Heiji's help.
Finding and freeing youâbecause Sachiko was absolutely sure that Daiki had kidnapped youâand it was a fear she knew would come true eventuallyâwas top priority now and Sachiko knew that Heiji was the only person who would be able to save you.
~~~
There weren't many moments in times, where Conan thought he had failed. Nor had he many regrets to think about.
But when Heiji told how Sachiko had called and telling him in upcoming panicâsounding close to crying, holding back choking sobsâyou're gone, disappeared so suddenly in board daylightâunder eyes of many "witnesses"âand that she, in absolutely certainty, believes Daiki had taken youâConan felt like a failure.
Failure. Conan had failed miserably as your older brother, who promised youâonce ago, during your first suicidal attemptâto never leave you alone and behind in your darkest times of needâand to always protect you from the dangers and evil of this world.
But look! Here is he, failing not only once but twiceâtrice even, when he couldn't save Narumiâand breaking promises after another, building a path of hurtful lies for you to walk on. Honestly, you deserve someone far better than him as your brother.
It was foolish to think, that they might be able to call you, but even the simplest thing to doâin cases like these, calling you even though the chance stood high that your phone had been already destroyedâcould might lead to an better outcome of the situation.
When it ringed and someone picked up the line, they hoped it was youâbut when Daiki's voice rung out, the hope extinguished.
âOh, it's the brat calling. C'mon dear, tell them Goodbye.â
âFuck off, Asshole.â
A clash, a thud and a short gaps from youâand the line went dead afterwards.
»What now? Osaka is big and we can't search through the whole city and its landscape, without a sort of fixpoint to begin with.....« said Heiji, gnawing at his lower lip and looking at Conan.
The bubble of panic didn't came spiking up in one sudden rushâlike how Sachiko must had experienced it firsthand nowâand neither did it came slow risingâhow for Conan it was, whose eyes shone with ridden guilt and although masking it professionally like a actor, starting to crack under its slowing crawling pressureâfor Heiji.
Of course Heiji is worried about you, he always will beâafter all you're his boyfriend and worrying about ones partner and the ones you love is a natural feeling to doâbut Heiji is also a Detective and haywire emotions wouldn't help in any situation nor does it any good.
Conan knows this as wellâis the one who believes, participate, the most in this sort of mindsetâbut sometimes a once rational, logical, mind and heart can make a spin into the irrational side of the humane
There was also the crucial factâwhich is the reason why Heiji doesn't feel the heart aching panic just yetâthat everyone seemed to forget that you weren't just a mere helpless person.
You could defend yourself with ease, were cable of fightingâwith your strength of Qing Madoâagainst Adults and opponents twice your age and size.
But Heiji himself seems to forgetâwhile knowing of the information aboveâthat there a tools out there which could make you helpless and unable to defend.
»My Radar Glasses!« exclaimed Conan
»Huh? When did ya chip [Name]?«
»Not him, but his phone-keychain«
Conan was getting restless he's aware, knowing well that his idea might be just a glimpse into the blue of nothing, but what else are they supposed to do?
They had to give it a try, even when it would lead into a dead end. Just sitting around and waiting wouldn't do anything, wasn't going to help you!
Conan couldn't give up, especially not on youâhis precious little brother, who he vowed to protect.
~~~
Whatever was on their sideâbe it luck, fate or destiny, fortunas generosity or simply Daiki's own dumbnessâthey hoped it's gonna last till you are found.
When the glasses did indeed pick up a low signal of yours, Conan and Heiji went to the location as fast as possible.
Once there, in an alleyânear the outskirts area, with soon to build houses and buildings and the ones getting destroyedâall they had found was your phoneâstill in tact, but useless now. Then again, this alone could lead to youâas it minimise the area, distance and possibility of where you could be.
Conan wouldn't give up and he hoped neither would you.
I'll keep finding, finding you
Right through hell and heaven
And in all dimensions
I'll keep finding, finding you

Heiji Hattori x Male Reader
Fandom -> Detective Conan/Case Closed
Masterlist
»What do you mean, he isn't Shinichi?«
The question you spoke with a whispering volume in your voice, filled with doubt and hesitation, hung above through the upcoming silence like a loose threatâready to fall and causing havoc disaster.
Without really noticing it, the three Soda cans of cold Colaâwhich you had eagerly volunteered to get for your brother, Heiji and yourself as a form of thank you treatment for the hard work they had done these past few days of solving yet another crime and bringing justice once againâslipped from your hands, which had now a visible shake in themâand onto the ground below with a thud, rolling away.
Heiji captured his lower lip between his teeth's, gnawing at skin in slight anxiousness. Observing you, Heiji raced his mind of ways to distract youâbringing you away from the scene, from something of a sort of false truth you wished, longed, to be true againâand calm you down before your anger could rise.
You rarely got angry as you're a more peaceful person with sincere attitude of positive and genuine love energy. Only a handful, be it people or things, could make your fuse go into an explosion.
Though when you got angry, when the fuse start to spark and make the anger bubbling inside youâtill it bursts into flames of furyâoh lord, than you weren't a pleasant person to be around.
»Are you telling me, that heâhe isn'tâisn't.....ShinâShini......« your voice faltered, died out in uncertainty of unbelievable.
Heiji knewâfrom the way you first narrowed your eyes at Okuda, the person who fooled you into thinking that he was your dear brotherâwho disappeared once without a word and now reappears againâhow your hands are clenched into fists, so hard that your knuckles turned white and how your narrowed stare turned into a angry sneerâthat your about to strike Okuda down with every possibility of your strength in Qing Mado. After all, you weren't in the top 5 of ranks for nothing.
Heiji was able to catch you when you leapt forward with a raised fist. Okuda did a fearful step back.
»This fucker! I will smash him into the ground! He had now fucking right to imposante as Shinichi! NO RIGHT! Iâfucking let me go Heiji or I swear to god I will fucking smash you into the ground too!«
And in the next seconds, you grabbed Heiji's arms and judo flipped him over your shoulder and onto the ground. Leaving him breathless for a moment.
While Heiji regained his breath, he glanced towards Ran and Shinichiâthe actual one, who tried his best to take cover behind Ranâand Heiji, for once, felt absolutely angry at his best friendâwho couldn't dare to give you one fucking simple call, because if he had it wouldn't be like this today.
You had charged at the false Shinichi, punching him across the face and pummel him into the ground. Sitting on top of him, you grabbed his shirt collar and shook him anger.
They all watched in shock how you, the oh so sweet and kind [Name] they all knew, shouted threatening profanity at Okudaâand how you gave him a punch after another, letting your fury completely free.
The audacityâyou sneered in visibly barging angerâto imposante as your brother, is something unforgivable to do and wouldn't be forgiven, not when you waited all those damned monthsâalmost a year had passedâwithout any news, signs and calls from Shinichi.
»HOW DARE YOU TO IMPOSE AS MY BROTHER AND FRAMING HIM FOR A CRIME, JUST BECAUSE YOU FUCKER COULDN'T ACCEPT THE TRUTH!«
Because how low must be someone's morals, their values of integrity and beliefs, dropping to do such horrendous acts of so called "self-justification"
How desperate someone could become, to imposeâundergo surgery evenâas another person and commit murder in their name, to make them into a killer and frame them for such inhumane actions.
And that's all because, a truth of justice and evidence couldn't be accepted.
Heiji pulled you off from Okuda, taking every hit from your trashing around in his armsâas you tried to free yourself from his hold, wanting to beat the asshole all bloody moreâand brought you to one at the benches, near the vending machines.
~~~
Heiji didn't say anything, when you cried in his arms, knowing well from first hand experience that sometimes silence comforts more than the mere words of actual comforting meaning.
It wasn't the first time you've cried over Shinichi's absence. There had been many nights where you bawled your eyes out, thinking of gruesome possibilities of what could happen to your brother to make him as of what he is nowâgone and nothing but a mere fading memory.
But this was differentâas you really had thought that Shinichi had finally returned and even when it seemed that your brother had lost his memoriesâyou could live with this as long as he was backâyour crumbling hope was rising like a flame, believing naive and dumbly that everything was turning good again.
Though once again it felt too good to be true, because in the end, it was nothing but a fraudâripping the fragile hope in your brokenâbut ever so mendingâheart apart and leaving behind a mess of piercing pain.
Maybe you should just accept the possibility of reality, that Shinichi perhaps was deadâall along from the day he disappeared to the here and now of present.
Perhaps you also shouldn't have fought for your life back thenâwhen Daiki had kidnapped you and all you wanted was to die as well, having willingly accepted your fate as you hadn't any goal or ounce of hope left in youâbut when Conan told you such blatant lie, that Shinichi had called and would be back home soon, you thoughtâliving once more to see Shinichi's smile was enough to keep going against your wishes of death.
»I reallyâI thought, thatâI thought, that it wasâwas Shinichi.....« you choked out, hiding your face more in Heiji's neck.
»I know, I know, sunshine. C'mon deep breaths, in and out, just like we practiced. Yeah, just like that, ya doing good« whispered Heiji, rubbing your back and praising you when you did the breathing patterns.
If Heiji could, he would've told you in a heartbeat that Shinichi is here and aliveâfreeing you from the painful pressure of heartache you living through ever since with the loss of your brotherâbut he couldn't, have promisedâvowedâto never tell the secret of who Conan actually is.
The amount of times Heiji had to bite his tongue to not say anything to youâbecause if you would knew the actual truth, you would cause havoc and unleash a fury at themâand he never felt any remorse guilt about it nor anger about it before, to tell you minimal liesâbut now Heiji does and for once he wanted to punch his best friend for being so absolutely stupid.
»Come, Officer Kogawa said she's gonna drive us back to the City and then we could take a nap in our hotelroom and afterwards we can go and have a nice dinner, watcha think, sounds splendid doesn't it?« said Heiji, prepping your face with kisses, before standing up.
You wiped the remaining tears from your eyes, rubbing your face andâbesides the upcoming migraine you felt pounding in your headâmanaged a small smile at Heiji.
»Yeah, that sounds real good« you agreed, leaning against Heiji as he placed his Cap onto your head and slung his arm around youâpulling you close.
For a moment you felt bold; cradling Heiji's face in your hands, pulling him down and gave him the biggest kiss on the cheek.
»Not that I don't appreciate it, but what for sunshine?« asked Heiji, grinning at youâhave been taken by surprise with your action.
»No reasons, except for you being the best in my humble life and do you wanna know how much I love you Heiji?«
»How much?«
»Endless, like the universe«
Linus thought, that the Royal Casablancaâthe Casino of all Casinosâlooked rather ordinary. Like a normal tourist vacation ship and nothing at all spectacular.
Though when they had stepped inside, Linus was astonished surprisedâbecause the inside, the furnished set up, was so extraordinary and smellingâliterallyâlike royalty.
Placing your sunglasses on top of your head, you gave the young lady at the receptions a warm smile of greeting.
»Good evening, Names DeVillâ[Name] DeVillâand I would like to get a Chip for the Gloria Round. Start capital is five hundred million, plus the nine thousand insurance fee for my three staff members.« you said, gesturing to Linus and the Malloy Twins.
The way you said it, implies that you had been in Royal Bianca before. Otherwise, Linus couldn't understand how you could perform your acting so well.
»You had been here before or?« asked Linus you, when you had stepped through the double doors and into the lounge of Gambling Paradise.
»Mhm, yeah, when I was ten and then around age sixteen.« you replied, shushing Linusâwho was about to ask another questionâwith a hold up of your fingers.
If the Gloria Round, a special Poker tableâwhere there are only the Card games of the Madness Category being playedâis only reserved for the grand players of the richest, then how come you're able to get one?
There was also the question, how you said "DeVill" as your surnameâit does rings a bell in mind thoughâwhen it should be Ryan.
~~~
Linus, who stood next youâacting as your assistantâand watching you play, was getting just a tiny bit overwhelmedâanxiously evenâwith the way, how you played.
Now he could understand why Rusty had said, to never play against you. You really are mercilessâmadâeven.
It's the way how you sat there, so causalâleg swung over anotherâbut also posture straight, implies a seriousness of professionalism.
But what really causes a disturbance towards the other playersâbringing them out of their own concept and comfort, their confidence slowly breaking apart like biscuits being dunked into teaâwas your ability of mimic.
You didn't really had a pokerface, it's more a type of jesterâcheshire catâone, with how you would glance at them, face stoic like stoneâsometimes raising an eyebrow or moving your head in a certain direction of angleâand then you would break out into a smile, whenever you had a winning pair or bluffing them into a belief.
You had won every game so far and those gamesâbe it; Devil's House, Texas Holden (the old original version), Jester Day or Crowns Dealâhad been played in the last past hours at least more than thrice.
The nickname; Devil's Gambler was a true fit for you.
»My, my, Ladies and Gentlemans, where do you think you're going?« you begun, when the first player started to get up, after you had won yet again a round of Texas Holdenâproudly proclaiming a Yeehaw.
»Through this whole evening, how many hours? Ten hours we've played all the card game at least over three times, except for Royal Flush and I believe it's the perfect game to end such glorious night, isn't it? Or do tell me, it seems that you're allâhow do they say?âaah, yes, scared. The Royals of royals from the highsociety of richness, cannot be mere mortals and be scared from a single play of Royal Flush, now can they?«
Now you started to taunt them and it worked. They sat down on their chairs again.
âLinus. End the Game and get [Name] out of there.â
Linus didn't registered Rusty's voice, too engrossed with what you're about to do next.
»Exactly. That's what I thought. Now, I would say for this last round to make it into a majestic night, to make it truly a memorable highlight, we'll go; All or Nothing.«
âFuck.â
All or Nothing meant, you betting the whole moneyâthe sums you've won so far and what's still left in the Start Capitalâyou have.
And Royal Flush is not one of those simple card games, like Texas Holdenâeven though it belongs in the category of Madness Gamesâwhich could be, with good practice and some luck, wonâno, this Card Game was the toughest and roughest of all of them.
Royal Flush is a game, which can turn you into a sobbing mess of self-doubt if you realise you're about to lose.
~~~
When you had started laughing, during the final set of Royal Flush, it had spooked Linus so much that he flinched visiblyâthought for real, you were either about to lose or simply had lost it nowâand then he remembered what Rusty had told him; make sure [Name], under no circumstances, drinks any kind of alcoholic beverage.
When Linus asked why, all he got was; Medications.
You're sober thoughâCola the only drink you had all night longâand that's brought Linus minimal pressure of anxious he felt at the beginning backâbecause there was no reason for you to laugh so carefree during such a serious moment.
Why, thought Linusâswallowing hard, when you laughter got uncontrollably now, till you're just a wheezing mess at the tableâare you like this?
»Game, set and match. Royal Flush.« you said, bringing your cards down onto the table and looking the last remaining player directly into the eyes. Grinning wicked wide.
âGames over, Linus. Get [Name] out of there, before he starts another game.â âLinus. We meant it. Get out.â
»A pleasure it was to had you, prince of Monaco, as my opponent and bringing you to tonight devastating loss.«
Linus wanted to sob now. There's an actual prince and you beat his royal ass in a mere card game.
»So's mine. The son of Delpho DeVill surely care for another round, doesn't he?«
»Your highness, I apologise, but my Boss needs to attend another meeting now. Perhaps next time and nice to meet you.«
Linus pulled you up from the chair and out of the room, Virgil and Tuck following right awayâfrom another roomâwith a luggage carrier full of bags, which are filled with way much money than Danny had said to win.
Rusty had to catch you, whenâonce being outside of the Ship and on the docksâyou came running into his arms and prepped kisses all over his face.
It was clear, when you had started to dance with Rusty aroundâsinging off key one of the songs you had at your weddingâand also accepting Rusty's marriage proposal, which hadn't even askedâas you two are already marriedâthat one or more of your Colas had been spiked with something. You wouldn't have acted like this otherwise.
If you only had wanted to play more rounds and going to the auctions, then Danny or Rusty could've said; it's the Gamblers high which runs through your veins like ecstasyâbut that wasn't the case.
»Linus, I know you probably have lots of questions and perhaps your confused, but later. Eventually.«
~~~
Besides what Rusty, in a moment of annoyance, had said to youâhe had a few ideas how to make it up to youâdidn't regret it, when he, as promised long ago, could finally pay you free.
So laying next to you in bed and having you cuddle up in his arms, was a heavenly blissâRusty wouldn't exchange for anything.

02. Royal Flush
Rusty Ryan x Male Reader | Platonic! Danny Ocean x Brother Reader
Fandom -> Ocean's Trilogy
Masterlist | Previous / Next |
The Royal Casablanca was not just a mere simple Casinoâwhich thankfully isn't located in meek old boring Viva Las Vegas, wouldn't have fit the aestheticsâbut it's The Casino of all Casinosâlocated on a ship, the ship itself being the establishmentâfor the high society of the world's wealthiest people.
Royal Casablanca, nicknamed Royal Bianca for short sayings, is a highlight for every Gamblerâand auctioneers, who love to present their antiquesâfrom past decades all the way to jewels of the modern eraâyou name it, they bring it, you pay and if you can't pay, well in simple terms; your life is not worth of living anymoreâan thrill of excitement and ecstasy like experience.
So when Danny had knocked on your hotelroomâin the early hours of lunch, after yesterday's failed attempt of a heist to pay Mister Benedict back and you're still pissed at Danny and Rusty for that, because now you're on his hit-list tooâgreeting you joyfully, with a tight hug and ruffling your hair, stepping insideâamused at your husband, who eats a stack of pancakes, like the glutton he isâyou were surprised when Danny said, he wanted to gather the team for another heist.
You're even more surprised, interest highly piqued though, when Danny mentioned the Royal Casablanca.
The guys, besides Reuben, looked only mildly confusedâsave for Linus, he had yet again no clue what's going onâwith the mention of the name and you couldn't help yourself but to chortle out laugh.
»Could someone please explain what joke I missed?«
»Oh Linus, bless you, but Danny and Rus really needs to teach you some basics of the Casino and Gambling world« you said, getting up from the couch and standing next your brother now.
Linus didn't mention it, holding his tongue, howâin a wayâunsettling it was for himâhow fast you had changed personality by the mention of a mere Casino. Had you gone from bystander husbandâwho knows about the little hobby of illegally, like Tessâto professional informant within seconds.
And informations about Royal Casablanca you had.
»Gentleman's, when Monaco the Royal Palace of gambling is, than is Royal Casablanca the Crown itself,« you begun, startingâfull in your elementâto explain why this Casino is such a grand event of highlight.
From Europe, to Africa and all the way to Arabian and Asian east, the Casino would anchor at a specific location of country and stay there for maximum three nights, before it sail's away towards the next destination.
Since they have their own special bank inside the ship, the security is high but not high enough; which means, if played right, you canâin a metaphorical senseârob it without being caught.
»Wait, how's that even possible?«
»Royal Bianca belongs technically to Monaco, in any of these three nights they make enough moneyâexplosive enoughâthat if you might win a longer round of games in there and getting one of the grand jackpots and leave, it wouldn't hurt them.«
»So, hypothetically speaking, if one of use winsâalthough this time, truthfully without any tricksâlet's say, 500.000.000 Billions, it's legally ours.« adds Danny and the others shrieked in shock.
»How's such a sum, in legal terms ours? What the hell is Royal Casablanca?! The devils home?«
»Nah, it's not the Devil's home, I would knowâwas there for years, although people say, it's also located in Ohio and somewhere elseâbut anyways. No, the reason why is; if you win, doesn't matter what sum, it's all yours. A wins a win, those are one of the few rules in there.«
»And who of us will be the lucky guy?«
»That's gonna be [Name].«
»That's right. It's me, who's not only an expert, but also the best of the best when it comes to Royal Bianca.« you boasted gleefully, fully proud and overflowing with confidence.
Royal Casablanca was your realm.
~~~
Danny, Rusty and you were in one of the many emptyâto such an hourâlounges of the hotel, you're staying in for tonight and tomorrow.
From Amsterdam to Monaco was just a day trip away and since Danny and Rusty had to do a short visit in France anyways, their planned casino heistâin one of Europe's most prestigious establishmentsâwas just the start of something great.
»You wanna tell me the real reason, how you lost thirty millions of thirty-five? It can't be just the hotel thingy of yours«
You poured yourself another cup of coffee, but stopped midway from drinking it, when Danny had asked Rusty that question.
All you wanted was to discuss the plan once more, taking a short nap afterwards and then getting ready for your performanceâbut not to talk about this theme again or having to break up one of their heavier arguments.
»Well, it was just twenty for my hotel, the rest ten millions had to be paid for [Name]«
The way Rusty had said it, sounded as if it was something he never wanted to actually do, but had toâas if being forced.
»Well, you never had to in the first place.« you replied back angrily, glaring at your husband, clenching your hands into fits.
»Why so snappy now? You weren't even part of it the last time, so you have nothing to worry about Benedict.«
You inhaled sharply, standing up from your seat. Even more furious now.
»Excuse me? I might be not part of it last time, but I am now and you wanna know why? Because your Mister Benedict came to me, to our houseâwhere I, we, should be safeâand threatens me, that if I don't repay the moneyâI apparently have stolen tooâto him, he's gonna bring me back to him.«
You weren't having any of this. Not with such blatant heinous disrespect towards you, after you were finally being free from that hells placeâfinally feeling safe enough. So you thought at least.
»Hey, hey, [Nickname] how about we grab a bottle of Cola and go outside for some fresh air?« Danny took your hand, taking a bottle of Cola from the table and was on his way outside to the small hotel garden outside.
Danny gave Rusty a pointed look, who only looks remotely guilty at the moment.
~~~
»So, whose [Name] exactly?« asked Linus, fumbling with his Bowtie. It's a question which burned on his tongue, ever since he saw what a kind of enigma source of information you areâwhen it comes to Monaco and Royal Casablanca.
»My Husband.« replied Rusty, looking just a tiny bit anxious and impatiently towards the bathroom, where you went in to get ready dressed.
»Yeah, I already knew that, but I meant like, personality wise? What's his job? Is he like us? Yeah know, all that stuff«
»Do you wanna tell them or should I?«
Rusty inhaled deeply, annoyance rising and patience running thin. He knew Danny's still just a tad angry at him, for upsetting you hours agoâRusty himself feels the guilt coming up, ruining his appetiteâbut really, in all honesty, why do theyâespecially Linusâwant to know information about you?
Were your personal information useful or necessary in the current situation? No.
Do they ask out of pure curiosity? Perhaps.
»[Name]'s my husband, he used to work in a rather expensive and fancy establishment of brothel business and is a merciless gambler when it comes to any sort of Casino gamesâso fair warning, never play against him.«
»Wait, wait, hold on! So, [Name]'s a Whoâ«
»Linus, we like you and so does [Name], but if you dare to finish that word or ever say it againâaround us or himâI will punch you so hard, till your bones crack.«
Rusty wouldn't let anyone, be it stranger, family or friends, say such disrespectful and shameful term about you.
Words could hurt just as much, but when carved into your skinâthey're a constant reminder for the someone's mind.
Linus had gone quiet instantly, when Rusty gave him one of the those stern looks.
»Ignore him, Linus. It's still a sensitive topic.« added Danny.
»Alrighty, Gentlemans! I'm ready.«
When you stepped out of the Bathroom, dressed in a mix between causal suit and old money lookâheeled boots, which makes you appear tallerâand the few added jewelleries, a clutch-purse and sunglassesâwas such a look of pure professional, that Linus had to hold in a whistle. Rusty or Danny would've whacked him upside the head.
But damn, Linus thought, you know how to get dressed fancy.

When Danny, after being out of prison, asked Rusty to join him at a Grand Coup of heistâRusty had only agreed halfway to it. After all, he wanted to know for what exactly they would rob and risking their lives and freedom for.
Especially freedom, because Rusty sure as hellâdamned he will beâdidn't want to get caught and being send, like Danny, into prison. He simply couldn't afford such ending.
And when Danny told him, they gonna robânot only one but threeâCasinos in good old Viva Las Vegas, Rusty wanted to know a even far more good enough reason for him to join in such madness.
And Danny, like the best friend and charming asshole he is, told Rusty the only valid reason he needs to have;
»If we pull this off and I promise you, we will. You can finally pay the devils debt and free [Name], moving to wherever your heart desires and afford the safety you have promised him.«
Danny was right, hitting a wound point in Rusty's ego, because there had been one thing Rustyâin all those yearsâcouldn't do and that was giving you proper protection. Protecting you from a past, you would never be able to free yourself from it, if you didn't have a certain amount of money for it.
»Okay, I'm in. But if we fail, I'm gonna send you personally to hell, Danny boy.«
Rusty might have agreed, trusting and believing in his friend that they will manage this with a 100 percentage chance of successful winningâbut he also knew what price it would cost him, because if they indeed fail. It would be you, who Rusty would lose and you're more worth to him than all the money and jewels in the world.
~~~
So far, the whole plan went, besides minor improvements, smoothly good.
Rusty could almost imagine the millions of Dollar he would have soon. Enough money to buy you free and finally live with you in peace.
Just you and him, thought Rusty, imagining the new chapter of lifeâfully secure, comfortable and happy healthyâhe would have with you and maybe a big family with lots of cats and dogs.
âUh, uhm, Rusty there'sââ âRusty, there's a problem. A you problem.â
»What?« asked Rusty through the mini microphone, scrunching up his face in confusionâforgetting his cup of jello momentarily. Another problem? What do they mean with "you"-problem?
âLook towards the entrance. You might need to prepare for a divorce too.â
»Fuck. Give me some extra minutes to sort this out.«
»Robert Russel James Ryan! You do not leave our house in such fucking manners. How fucking dare you! Do you know how fucking worried I was?!«
A few people had turned their heads, starting to gossip already, when you marched forward to Rusty and shouted in anger at him.
Ouch, shouting his full nameâyou're furious, a deadly threat of trait of yours, with him and it was Rusty's own fault.
Rusty took a few steps forward, discarding his cup of jello and raising both of his hands in surrenderâwanting to appease you.
Honestly, he haven't seen you this angry, ever since Danny and he had a fistfight with your "Boss"âwhich they of course had lost, as they couldn't win against a knife and knuckleheadsâand you were so upset with them, that you cussed them out so muchâthey were taken aback by it, spook them just a littleâwhile you treated their wounds.
So yes, Rustyâand as well Dannyâknew your kind of anger very well.
»Hey, love, watcha doing here?« Rusty was curious how you got hereâas you should be in sunny California, safe and sound in the apartment.
»Don't come with such bullshit. You know perfectly well, why the fuck I'm here. So tell me now, Robert, the fuck are you and Dannyâand I know the fucker is here as wellâsuspiciously planning to do here?!« you had raised your finger, pointing threatening at him.
Rusty inhaled and exhaled deeply through his nose, trying to think of ways to get you away from hereâbefore you either might could get harmed by accident, being caught in the metaphorically crossfire or causing a disturbance to their plan.
Though, perhaps, he could use you for a good distraction, but noâno, no, he had sworn himself to not do such things with you.
Gripping your arms gently, Rusty pulls you close to his side and leads you away to a more secluded area of waiting.
Rusty brought you a glass of cold Cola, which you begrudgingly took from your husband. Taking a few sips from it, you gave Rusty a pointed lookâalmost a frown or angry glareâawaiting an explanation from him.
~~~
Waking up to an empty bedside wasn't what had spooked you into a worryâit was the discovery that your husband was nowhere in the apartment and that he couldn't be called and neither Danny.
It might didn't seem like big problem for most people, but for you it wasâconsidering your past and what happened to Rusty and Danny back then.
Your mind raced with unpleasant thoughts and memories. Every possibility of what if's run through, flooding you with anxiety.
Rusty could've been; in a accident, being in hospital injured, arrestedâmost likely, your husband is certainly not a innocent man and had done some bad things of illegallyâyou're not a saint either thoughâyou're aware of itâor worst case scenario, your Boss signed of the deal and killed Rusty.
God, it causes waves of nausea inside your stomach. Lungs feeling so tight, it was hard to breathe for the next minutes and your body, shaking like unstable tower during an earthquake.
»Fucking above, I swear to, Rusty will get his share fair of talk from me to hear.« you grumbled out, cursing loudly when you hit your hand somewhere.
You needed to sit down for a few minutes, stress getting too high and head too light.
~~~
».....surprise«
»Repeat that?« you blinked at him, haven't registered one word of what Rusty just had told you.
»I said, I can't tell you what me and Danny doing here, because it's a surprise, love«
»Rusty, you tell me now, why you and Danny are here or so god help me.«
»My love, I can't. It's a surprise«
Perhaps, in retrospective, Rusty shouldn't have woken you up in the early hours of morningâstill in a daze of sleep, in between slumber of dreamsâand telling you, in a half-truth, about a little trip he's gonna do, kissing you goodbye.
And yeah, maybe Rusty should have told you personally about the little heist they gonna do, but then it wouldn't be a surprise anymore and Rusty loved it to surprise you.
»Fuck your surprise, Rusty. I honestly thought he had signed off the deal and oh, I don't know, killed you. I was worried sick, asshole.«
»I know, I know my dear. I should have told you, I know. Could my prince forgive me?«
Rusty leaned in closer, whispering the last few words in your ear as he asks for your forgiveness, ghosting small kisses over face and your lipsâwhen you remain silent.
You rolled your eyes at Rusty antics, but couldn't help yourself to smile.
âNot to bother, rus, but time management?â
Sometimes, Rusty thoughtâholding back a groan of annoyanceâthe guys sure could be a mood killer and pain in the ass. It's his and Danny's team though and a teams a team and they a job to do.
»Wait for me at Helios-Motel, I'll be there in like a hour.«
Rusty kissed you one more time on the lips, before standing up. You had taken hold of his hand, before he could walk away.
»You promise me, you and Danny will be safe?«
»Of course, my prince.«
If Rusty might be caught today's night and they would ask him for his reasons, he would tell them; it's you, you're his sole reason for everything he does.
Trafalgar Law x Male Reader
Law hated itâthe carelessly and inconsiderate behaviour towards you, from your friends and Captain, whoâLaw had knew it all along, wasn't the right person for youâhas a nonexistent and illogically mindset of thinkingâand overall, Law simply hated it.
Since their start of Alliance on Punk Hazard, then during Dressrosaâand what happen on Cake Island, only being told about itâall the way to the here and now, Wanoâyour crewmates seemed, either purposely or unintentionally forgetful, to ignore your problem of health and denying you the medical attention you (desperately) needed.
This all lead up to the current situation, where you continue to push throughâgoing way beyond over your own limits againâwithout a break, discarding your own health tooâand came, after collapsing more than just once, close to dying. A repeat of the last few time.
Law watches you, how you stumbled towards himâunconsciously and out of focus, having just won one of the many final fightsâagainst Kaido, his henchmens and Big Momâyourself, which left you more than just bloody and beat.
Before you were even close enough to Law, your knees buckled inâfalling forward, eyes rolling backwards and face scrunching up in painâand Law had barely time to catch you.
Picking you up, Law carried you behind a broken stone wallâpropping you against it and put his coat on you, to keep you warm.
Law checked your pulse, it was faintâunnoticeable evenâbut still there. The symptoms, just a few of many, were clear; short rapid breathing, sweating and shivering.
Your blood sugar levels had reached the lowest point. Probably having dropped to Zero by now. If that's the case and Law as a Doctor knew it was, he needs to inject you at least around four doses glucoseâbut Law himself has only one, actually two, though the second one broke and left behind a sticky mess in his pant pockets, syringe leftâto get you stable enough and bring you somewhere far saferâthe Polar Tang preferable.
»d-don't......I don't.....want« you mumbled out, having come back to your senses, weakly pushing Law's hand away from you.
»Shhh, I need to [Name]-ya« Law hushed you gently, moving your shirt upwardsârubbing over your stomach with his hand, giving you a bit of comfortâlooking at the faint dots of injections, which begun to build up to an scaring area onto your skin.
You whined out painfully loud, body jerking and rolling over onto your sideâholding your stomach after the cold needle left your skin.
Every interjection you had to take, you cursed your body and this damned blood sugarâwhich had made your life more miserable than those pillsâto reduce your devil-fruit abilityâyou were forced, by mother, to take. You hated it.
Law turned you back, patting your cheeks to keep you awake and you were close to tell your boyfriend offâhow this is his sole fucking fault and how you hate him for the discovery of it.
You didn't though, hadn't the energy left in you and minds busy to not vomit any minuteâgulping down the rising bile.
~~~
»Traffy! Is [Name] alright?« asked Luffy, voice loud as always and laced with concern for his friend.
Law was honest, when Luffy had appeared next to himâout of nowhere it seemsâit did spooked him a bit, only a bit though.
»Strawhat-ya, give me your Syringes.« and when Law didn't received a reply right away, he asked againâharsher now, not having the time and nerves for niceties or to have a conversation with the Strawhat.
Luffy rubbed his neck sheepishly, when Law looked at him expectingly. Luffy knew you kinda needed the glucose at specific times, but he believed you can pull through it without themâlike you had all the time before, because you're strong after all!
»I don't have them anymore, they broke during one of the fights, but [Nickname] doesn't need them, he's strong!«
Law had enough. Enough from all this bullshit talk about believe, because believing doesn't solve or cure anythingâit's nothing but a false, selfish sort of hope and a nonsense of illogical and ignorance.
His short fuse of stressed nerve and building up anger bursted for final now. Getting up, Law grabbed Luffy by his short collar.
»Are you that incompetent inconsiderate towards [Name]-ya or just plain stupid?! I told you over and over again, just how fucking vital the Glucose is for him! Do you want [Name]-ya so desperately dead? Huh, Strawhat?!«
Law screamed the last bit, vocal cords shaking with furious anger. Dropping Luffy to the ground, Law picked you up again and teleported somewhere, hopefully far enough this time, else.
~~~
Wiping your sweaty forehead and the spilling tears from your flushed red face, Law couldn't tell how much that one dose would last for youâprobably not long as your body already starts to fights again against the conscious drop.
Law said it once and he would say it again; Luffy as your captain was irresponsible and soonânot now or tomorrow, but in near futureâthe cause of your death.
Leaning down to you, kissing you on the lipsâLaw murmured in a whisper, that everything gonna be alright and that you're feeling better soon.
Law promised himselfâand even when that means, being at war with the Strawhatsâhe would take you away and keep you by his side.
His Reasons
Rusty Ryan x Male Reader
Fandom -> Ocean's Trilogy
Masterlist
When Danny, after being out of prison, asked Rusty to join him at a Grand CoupâRusty had only agreed halfway to it. After all he wanted to know what exactly they would rob and risking their lives and freedom for.
And when Danny told him, they gonna rob three Casinos in good old Viva Las Vegas, Rusty wanted to know a good enough reason for him to join in such madness of nonsense.
And Danny, like the best friend and charming asshole he is, told Rusty the only valid reason;
»If we pull this off and I promise you, we will, you can finally move with [Name] to wherever your heart desires and afford the safety you have promised him.«
Danny was right, hitting a wound point in Rusty's ego, because there had been one thing Rusty couldn't give you and that was protection. Protection you from a past, you wouldn't be able to free yourself if you don't have a certain amount of money to pay for.
»Okay. I'm in, but if we fail I'm gonna send you personally to hell, Danny boy.«
Rusty might have agreed, trusting and believing in his friend that they will manage this with a 100 percentage chance of successful winningâbut he also know what price it would cost him, because if they indeed fail it would be you who Rusty would lose and you're more worth to him than all the money and jewels in the world.
~~~
So far, the whole plan went, besides absolutely minor improvements of differences, hellbent well.
Rusty could almost imagine the millions, billions, of money he would have. Enough money to buy you free and finally move to either (f.country) or sweet California.
Just you and him, Rusty thought, imagining the new lifeâfully secure, comfortable and happy healthyâhe would have with you and maybe a big family with lots of dogs and cats (and perhaps Danny, because he's your self-proclaimed older brother)
âUh, uhm, Rusty there'sââ âRusty, there's a problem. A You problem.â
»What?« asked Rusty, scrunching up his face in confusion. Another problem? What sort of you-problem do they mean?
âLook towards the entrance.â
»Fuck. Give me some minutes to handle this guys.«
»Robert Russel James Ryan! You do not write me a letter with such unbelievable heinous words and leave our house in such fucking manners. How fucking dare you! Do you know how fucking worried I was?!«
A few people had turned their heads, when you had marched forward to Rusty and shouted in anger at him.
Ouch, shouting his full nameâyeah, you're furious and it was Rusty's own damn faulty mistake. Indeed a You-Problem.
Rusty took a few steps forward to you, having his hands up in surrender, wanting to appease you. Honestly, he haven't seen you this angry ever since Danny and him had a bloody fist fight with your "Boss", which they lostâof course, as they couldn't win against a knife and knuckleheadsâand you were so furious with them, that they were taken back with the amount of cursing you said at them, while treating their wounds.
»Hey, love, watcha you doing here?«
»Don't come with such bullshit. You know perfectly well, why the fuck I'm here. So tell me now, Russel, the fuck are you and Dannyâand I know that fucker is here as wellâsuspiciously planning to do here?!«
Rusty inhaled and exhaled deeply through his nose, trying to think of a way to get you away from hereâbefore you causing more disturbance and a possible fail to the plan. Then again, he could use you for a good distraction, but noâno, no, he had sworn himself to not do such things with you.
Gripping your arms gently, Rusty pulls you close to his side and leads you away to a more secluded area of waiting.
~~~
Waking up to an empty bedside next to you and discovering your husband is not in your shared apartment, even though he told he would be on time backâand that has been days ago, I mind youâbrought a lot of unpleasant thoughts through your mind.
There could be many things happening to Rusty; him having a accident, in a hospital and injured, arrestedâyour husband is certainly not a innocent man, he had done some bad and dangerous awful things of illegally, you're aware of itâor worst case scenario, your Boss quit the deal and killed Rusty.
You started to walk through your tiny apartment, still clothes in pyjamasâshorts and one of Rusty's oversized shirtsâmind going haywire with everything and anything; be it the due bills, another round of grocery shoppingâas Rusty is a total glutton and eats more than you and probably has an endless pit of a stomachâwhich you don't know how to pay for, the payment deal, Rusty being gone and probably killed and you still being jobless.
A lot of things for a tiny mind like yours to think about.
Then, while you cleaned, you found a noteâdefinitely from Rusty and when you read it, you screamed in disbelief.
Yeah, sure, do a few days trip to Las Vegas and just don't tell me personally, not even the reasons for itâyou thought, scoffing at your Husband, who's a buffoon
~~~
»Rusty, you tell me now why you and Danny are here.«
»I can't love, it's a surprise«
Perhaps, in perspective, Rusty should have told you personally about his little trip and possibly heist, but then it wouldn't be a surprise and loved to surprise you.
»Fuck your surprise. I thought he called off the deal, I thought he had killed you. I was worried sick.«
»I know, I know, dear. I apologise, I shouldn't have told you via note, could this prince forgive a humble man like me?«
Rusty leaned in closer, whispering the last few words in your ear as he ask for your forgiveness and kissing your cheek, when you remained silent.
âNot to bother, but time management?â
Rusty rolled his eyes, the guys could be such mood killers and a pain of annoyance in the ass. The gang was his gang though and he had a job to fulfil.
»Need to go, love. Meet me at Helios-Motel in like two hours.« Rusty kissed your lips, a gentle kiss it was and gave you the Motel-Keys.
Before Rusty could stand up and go, you had taken ahold of his hand.
»You promised me, you and Danny will be safe and unharmed?«
»Always, my love«
And when Rusty flashed you his signature grin, you let him goâknowing he wouldn't break his promise.
