I'm trying to write this Baji X Reader fanfic but I'm not sure whether I'm getting his personality right or not... I really like your blogs and posts, so can you please help me out with your headcanons as how Baji is gonna be as a boyfriend? Also in my fanfic, Baji is reader's childhood best friend. So the trope of my story is childhood best friends turned lovers...
Baji has a very headstrong yet loyal personality. I just really done in on that. Also I hyper fixate on his chaotic habits like lighting cars on fire and the joy he gets from fighting.
I picture him being affectionate with his s/o and protective yet makes them learn how to fight so they’re never in real danger when is isn’t with them

TokyoRev Dad's: Baby's First Words
Sup Freaks! Sorry I've been very MIA lately. Had a lot of things to take care of and sadly I just couldn't fit any time into writing for you guys. But I am back and ready to kick ass!
So, we're starting up the TR Dad series and we are starting strong. Baby's first words and the line up for the comback is:
Rindou---Ran---Mikey
So let's rock-n-roll buttholes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
RINDOU
“Come on, honey. Say mama.” You begged your nearly one-year old daughter.
Raiya had begun babbling and baby talking a couple of months ago. She’s made up her own little words for things she wanted or needed, and sometimes you had to have your five-year-old son Rhys to translate for you. Like when she started calling her comfort blanket her shushie. You didn’t have a single clue what she had been crying for all day until Rhys came in and handed her the small purple blanket.
“You wanna say it. I know you do.” You said playfully, making her giggle and clap her hands together repeatedly. “Mmmah mmmmah.” You said slower, making a funny face to try and trick her into mimicking you.
“Y/N?” You heard Rindou call out after you heard the door open and shut.
“In Raiya’s room.” You answered before clapping you hands. “Ma ma. Come on, Rai. I know you can do it. Say ma ma.”
“Hey, Angel.” Rindou hummed as he came into the room, blonde hair pulled half back, kissing the top of your head before joining you on the tiara rug. “Princess,” he cooed down at his daughter who was smiling and clapping.
“Hi Daddy!” Rhys came running into the room, launching himself onto his father’s back.
Rhys’s blonde hair was getting longer and along with his downturned eyes your sweet baby boy was looking more and more like his father every day. He even picked up on his dad’s death glare, which he mimics when he doesn’t want to do what you’ve asked.
“Hey buddy!” Rindou chuckled and reached his arm around to support the boys weight, carefully so he doesn’t fall. “Were you good for momma today?” He raised a brow and the little boy smiled and nodded his head.
“Yup.” He popped his p with a giggle.
“What about school?” Rindou pushed further.
“Green card all day.” Rhys said proudly with his chin held up. “Kouta had to move his card to yellow today.”
“Really? Why?” Rindou mocked a gasp.
You always loved that Rin was good with kids. Hell he was great with you even. So watching him be a dad, being a great father who was involved in his kids lives, well it made you fall deeper in love with him. When he had to work out of town he always called ever free second he got to talk to the kids, and with you. You were worried when you first found out you were pregnant with Rhys. You were only seventeen and rindou had barely turned eighteen when you found out. At the time you were afraid you were so young and he was involved in such harsh work you thought maybe he’d bail. But he hasn’t. Not for a single second once since the day you told him about Rhys. And when he found out about Raiya, and that it was a girl this time, oh you wish you could go back and relive the excitement and joy written all over his face.
“He threw a car at Kenzia’s head.” Rhys sighed. “I told him not to, daddy. Is told him whats you told me. Haitani’s don’t hit girls, unless it’s their butt because they like that.”
“Rindou!” You gasp and smack his chest. “Rhys, honey, you don’t hit gets period.”
The five year old snorted and looked at his dad with a matching smirk and said, “ok momma.”
Oh when this boy gets older you have no clue what you’re going to do.
“Daddy doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” You sigh and toss a half hearted glare at your husband. “Daddy’s been hit one too many times.”
“Da~” you heard your daughter attempt to mimic.
You snapped your attention back down to her in shock. “What was that? You got it, Rai.” You smiled.
She looked up at you and Rindou with her big violet eyes. “Da~ Da~” she babbled again.
“Come on, Princess. Almost there.” Rindou encouraged her, picking her up.
“Da da.” She pushed out with a big smile on her face, giggling and shrieking in her little baby excitement. “Dada! Dada!”
“Yes! That’s right, Princess. Dada is right here!” He cheered and smirked over at you. “Suck it. She said dada first.”
You glare and roll your eyes. “So? Rhys said mama first and he was our first born, so I still get the crown.”
Rindou smirked down at you and leaned in to peck your lips. “Mmm,” he hummed as he pulled away, “you’ve always had the crown baby. My first princess.”
“Ew,” you laughed and pushed him away before getting up. “I’m the queen.”
“My queen.” He added with a sexy knowing look. “Maybe we can make another little Prince or Princess tonight when the kids go to sleep.” He muttered into your hair before picking up both kids and running out the room to play with them.
Good God, what have you done to deserve this amazing man?

RAN
“You’re hovering, Love.” Ran sighed as he walked in to the living room to see you and your son on the couch.
For hours now you have been trying to get your son Kouta to say something. Anything. You were getting impatient and you wanted to hear him say something. You could have sworn he said ball this morning but Ran said it sounded more like a burp. So, here you were laid on the couch, son on your lap giggling because his momma was making funny sounds and faces.
“He’ll say something when he’s ready to. No need to rush the process.” He added before leaning over the back of the couch and booped your son on the nose with one of his long fingers. “Ain’t that right, kiddo? Tell momma it’s ok. You’ll talk when you’re ready.”
You glared before flatly saying, “Rhys said his first word yesterday.”
Ran snapped his eyes to you and said, “really? Rin didn’t tell me.”
You shrugged and went back to playing with your son. “Katie called me yesterday and told me.”
“What was it?” He asked you, brows raised.
You shrugged again as you made a funny face to make your son laugh. “She didn’t say. We were on the phone and I guess he said it just then because she rushed me off the phone.”
“So she didn’t tell you, you just happened to be on the phone with her when he said it.” He deadpanned.
“She still would have called me.” You defeneded.
“Mmmm sure.” Ran continued to tease. “You’re not special.”
“Am too!” You snapped back, obviously letting him under your skin.
“Are not.” He amusingly continued. He always did love to see you all flustered and your feathers are ruffled up. It was satisfying to know that even after all these years and now a kid, he still could rile you up like this.
“Are so! Now take it back, Ran!” You pout, feelings slightly hurt.
You were a princess dammit. He better start remembering that.
“Mmmm no.” He sighed.
You looked to your son and faked cried. “Dada is so mean, bubba.”
Your one year old son looked at you and pouted. He looked to his dad and slapped his chubby little hand down on his dad’s head before curling up in your chest.
“Mama.”
Did he just-
“Aw, baby.” You cooed as he rubbed his little head further into your chest.
“Mama.” He repeated and you were just about ready to pass out.
“Someone’s protective over their momma.” You cooed and squeezed the baby close to you. “Mommy’s big protector.”
“Hey now, you don’t have to protect her from me.” Ran pouted and joined you on the couch. “I love momma too.” He whined.
Kouta looked at his dad and then looked at you.
“I know. He’s so whiney.” You said to your son, teasing your husband.
“Y/N.” He whined again.
You roll your eyes and look at your son. “What do you say? Should we share cuddles with dada?”
“Mama!” Kouta cheered and snuggled further into your chest.
“Sorry, Ran. You heard the kid. Momma only. No dad.” You taunted and mocked a shrug.
“Yeah right.” He scoffed before scooping you both up into his arms and curling up with you two. He looked at his son who was giggling. “You can share momma. I had her first anyways.”

MIKEY
Kaito, your five year old son, was helping you today and keeping his ten month old sister Miyo distracted for you. You needed the help today honestly. Miyo had woke up at six this morning and she hasn't ran out of energy yet. And with Mikey off handling 'business' today you had absolutely no help.
So, while you worked on making lunch to take up to your husband, Kaito decided he would step up and keep Miyo distracted. He was currently playing peek-a-boo with her on the living room floor. You could hear the gurgling giggles in the kitchen and every once in a while a childish 'boo!'.
"Kaito, honey, please go get your shoes and grab your sister's too." You called from the kitchen as you started to wrap up the bento box up in the black fabric.
"Yes ma'am." He called back and you could hear his little feet thudding off to his room.
"Hi Princess!" You cheered in a fake excitement for your daughter. She turned her little head towards you, her blonde hair cascading down from two pigtails. She clapped her hands with a big smile on her chunky little face. "Wanna go see daddy?" You asked and she squealed. "I'll take that as a yes."
"Here you go, Momma." Kaito said as he handed you Miyo's pink sparkly shoes Mikey just had to get her.
You son sat next to you and slipped on his spiderman light-up shoes before standing up to help you get things together. He honestly was mommy's little helper. You're going to cry when he grows out of this.
"I got Miyo's stroller ready, Momma. Daddy's lunch is in the bottom." He stated before he went to grab your purse off the kitchen table.
"Ok, buddy. Thank you." You smiled as him after you finally wrestled your daughter's shoes on. "Come on, Princess. Let's go see daddy." You sighed and stood up to strap her into the stroller. "Kaito, when we get outside you jump on the back ok? We gotta get there quickly today."
"Yes ma'am." He called from the front door that he was already unlocking.
You finally got both out the door and closed the house up. The walk to Bonten wasn't far from your house. Mikey liked to stay close in case he needed to get to the office for an emergency and also he said hiding in plain sight was always the best option. What cop would believe a known mobster was living a block away from his office? You didn't necessarily agree with that, but if Mikey went in he'd be coming right back out anyways so you didn't care. Half the damn city was in Bonten's pockets.
Thank you Kokonoi.
"Momma, can I push the livater button?" Kaito asked, still not quite getting the hang of the word elevator.
You smile down at him and rub his pale blonde hair. "Sure. You remember daddy's floor number?"
"P for pimp house!" He cheered.
"Pent house. Pent." You quickly corrected.
Sanzu probably taught him that.
You're going to rip his pink hair out.
"Penthouse." Your son repeated, feeling out how the word formed in his mouth.
You sighed as pushed the stroller up to the elevator doors. "Ok, Kaito, push the button pointing up."
"Ok!" He cheered and jumped off the back of his sister's stroller. "Up!" He chanted as he did his little happy dance waiting for the elevator to come down. "Up! We goin up! Right, Miyo?" You adored how your son always thought to include his sister. It made you a proud momma.
Miyo squealed again which made both you and Kaito laugh.
The elevator dinged and before the doors could fully open up, Kaito was already jamming his small body into the metal box. You tried to reach out to grab him in case anyone was in there he didn't need to see, but lucky you it was only Kokonoi.
"Uncle Koko!" Kaito cheered before launching him at the Chanel dressed man.
He looked up from his phone and saw you before looking down to the mini version of his boss. "Kaito. Y/N." He nodded to you before bending down to talk to your son as you joined them on the elevator. "How's the prince today?" Koko asked kindly before ruffling your son's hair.
"I'm good. I helped momma today." Your son bragged before giving the filthy rich man a big smile.
"Did you now? How'd you do that?" He played along.
It was always so funny to you how well Kokonoi did with kids. Normally boujie rich people don't like kids. They think there gross or loud or sticky or hazardous or in most cases all that wrapped up in a three foot body. But oddly not Koko. He loved Kaito and Miyo both. You remember all the too nice Chanel baby clothes he tends to get for both of them. The damned wind suit your son had on is an overly expensive Nike set Koko gifted to him as 'clothes you can get dirty'.
"Lots of stuff! But I mostly play with Miyo for Momma, so she can get things done." Kaito smiled even wider as Koko laughed and told him how good of a job he was doing.
"You coming to see Mikey today?" Koko asked you.
You nodded and said, "He forgot to grab lunch, and I refuse to let you guys suffer. I know how mean he can be to you guys if he doesn't eat." You chuckled sympathetically.
Koko nodded knowingly. "I was just on my way to the convenient store to get him something. He's been testy today."
The elevator dinged and opened up to the bonten pent house. Your son dashed out quicker than either you or Koko could react and before you knew it your five year old was out of sight.
"Kaito, wait!" You called.
You really needed to explain to him why he couldn't just run around in daddy's office. Or come up with a kid friendly reason. Telling your five year old that his father is a mobster who's killed people and beaten other's in this very office until they were unrecognizable.
"Daddy!" You heard your son cheer.
"Kaito?" The panic and confusion in your husband's voice was clear. "Where's your mother?"
"I'm right here." You sighed as you rounded the corner to see Mikey on the couch along with the Haitani brother's who were passing a joint back and forth and Sanzu who was cleaning his gun. "Kaito, I have told you, you cannot run away from mommy." You sighed as you gripped your son's shoulder.
"Uncle Sanzu what's that?" Kaito ignored you and asked the pink hitman about his gun.
"Huh? This? A nine-"
"It's nothing you need to know." You cut him off and glared at the man.
"Put it away." Mikey growled lowly and the hitman nodded and quickly took the 9-milimeter to his office.
Before you could turn on the Haitani's you heard the sliding of the balcony doors and saw the two finishing their roll on the balcony. At least the two of them had some type of manors. Who the hell starts breaking down what a gun is to a five year old? It's not like he doesn't have kids of his own. He has a son just a couple years younger than Kaito at home.
"Hi, Princess!" Mikey cheered as he picked his daughter up our of her stroller. "How's daddy's favorite girl?" He cooed as she squealed and giggled.
"Excuse me?" You snapped and raised a brow.
Mikey stiffened and then looked at you with a wink before kissing your brow. "Besides you my love."
"Mmmhm. Sure." You mocked rolling your eyes. "Well, your favorite girl has kept momma up since six this morning. Just playing and playing." You smiled at your daughter and cooed.
"Has she? You gotta let momma get her sleep, Princess. She's mean to daddy if you don't." Mikey teased and you shot him a quick glare.
You both started playing with her when Kaito started playing with his miniature soccer set Mikey kept at the office for him. Said he always wanted to make sure his kids could come visit him and have something fun to do.
Miyo noticed her brother and started babbling for him.
"You see bubba?" You asked as Mikey bounced her.
She looked at you then back at Kaito and suddenly screeched out, "Bu-ba!"
You and Mikey both froze and then looked at each other.
"Did she just-"
"Uh huh." You nodded.
"Bu-Ba! Bu-Ba!" She called out again and again, getting better every time.
Mikey finally put her down and she crawled off quickly to her brother, calling him as she did so. You looked over to Mikey and saw the pout on his face.
"Manjiro," You warned, "let your son have this."
"But I wanted to be her first word. I'm dada!" He pouted aloud to you.
You rolled your eyes and pecked him on the lips. "You're always going to be her daddy and she's always going to be your princess. Her first word doesn't change that. And you should be happy your daughter loved her brother. Maybe they'll be close and we'll be some of those lucky parents with kids who get along."
"Doubt it." Mikey scoffed. "Emma and I use to fight from sun up to sun down. Enjoy this while you can."

Chaos and Fun
Ok guys this is a request I have been getting forever now -_-, and I'm finally getting around to it.
Characters: Mikey x Reader (female reader)
Warnings: The usual gang shit, cussing, possible violence.
Author's Note: Here, Rissa! Now stop asking for it. :)
Tumblr media
Mikey was by far the most childish person on the planet. From the way he only ate sweets or kid meals to falling asleep in the weirdest places, Manjiro Sano was forever and always a carefree kid at heart. And that's why you loved him.
He wasn't overly mature like Draken or too golden perfect like Mitsuya. He wasn't a condensed ball of aggression and fire like Baji or quiet and suspicious like Kazutora. And even though your cousin said how amazing and thrilling Smiley was, you were overly grateful Mikey wasn't the peachy curly raging mess of violence and laughter he was.
Mikey was perfect and no one could tell you different. Trust, people have tried, and you don't listen.
Dark Impulses? No, Mikey was just cranky and hungry. Give him a hug and a sweet snack and he'll be fine.
Immature? Mikey wasn't immature. He just knew how have fun and live stress free...most of the time.
A ticking time bomb? You would go to your grave before you ever allowed someone else to call him that. You even bruised your hand the last time your cousin had said that.
She didn't let you get away with hitting her. But you'd do it again!
Everyone needed to stop worrying so much. Mikey was just fine, and if he wasn't you'd be the first to know and you'd handle it.
"Y/N, I am telling you the dude is imbalanced." Your cousin, a spit fire of a girl who was currently in a slightly terrifying relationship with Smiley, had sighed as the two of you walked to the TOMAN meeting.
"He is not! You're just judgy." You spat back and rolled your eyes.
You could feel the deadpan of a stare she shot towards you. "Me? Judgy? You're kidding."
"No." You groaned. "You always have something to say about Mikey. He's too childish. He's imbalanced. He's psychotic. He needs help. He cut up Sanzu's face." You mocked the listing of her past concerns.
"He did cut up Sanzu's face! We were there!" She shot back and gawked at your complete blinding loyalty.
You rolled your eyes and waved your hand. "He barely scratched him."
"Y/N, Sanzu has fucking deep scars on his face!" She shot back before loudly groaning and running a hand through her red hair. "Listen, all I'm saying is you need to be careful, ok? Mikey had been known to bite the fucking hand that feeds him."
"When has he ever?" You snap, taking complete offense to the accusation.
Your cousin looked at you with a serious face before lifting her hand-the one with the deep scar running down the side to her wrist. "Last summer. I ate the last cookie. Mikey took his knife and slashed my hand. You were there! You kept apologizing for him."
You shrug. "Shouldn't have eaten his snacks."
"I made them! I brought them for everyone!" She snapped back.
You shrug again and she huffed. You were as stubborn as they came when it came to Mikey. And Krissy-your cousin-was an incredible force constantly shouting Mikey's imperfections at you. This was an infinite cycle, never ending.
"Whatever. Just don't let him walk over you." She grunted as you both rounded the corner to the old temple TOMAN typically met at.
"Stop worrying so much. You're gonna give yourself wrinkles." You shot back with a smile.
She snorted and rolled her eyes before looking towards the gang of rowdy teenage boys. The curly peachy twin turned at the mention of Krissy's presence, smiling wider at the sight of her. (You have never understood how he can see anything considering his eyes are always closed).
"Hoya!" Your normally gruff and angry cousin cheered rather girl-ish and ran to join the Fourth Division's Captain. It was funny to see her act so carefree and lovey dovey when she jumps in his arms and kisses him. You'd only ever seen her act like that with the more violent twin.
"Finally made it." A youthful voice piped up from behind you.
Turning with a big smile, you beamed at Mikey. "Miss me?"
"Always." He smiled big before draping his arm over your shoulders. He pecked your lips before you snuggled closer to him. His kissed your head before saying, "Come on." He ushered you over to the stairs, away from everyone.
For a while you both just watched everyone else. Or well, Mikey did. You watched him. You loved how much he loved his friends. It was the first thing you ever loved about Mikey. He made bonds with his friends, and those bonds meant the entire world to him.
"We've got a fight tonight. Gonna wait up for me?" He looked down at you with a calm smile. He was softly patting your hair back as you leaned against his shoulder.
"I'll keep the window open and light on." You promised.
And you had.
That night. You had kept the window open and the light on. You stayed up. You played his favorite playlist. You had bought and put out his favorite snacks. You had gotten your first aid kit out ready to stitch him up to the best of your ability. You had sat on the windows ledge and watched the end of the street he normally came from. You waited and watched that spot all night.
As the time ticked by you grew a little more worried. You told yourself that maybe the fight was going on longer than normal. You told yourself maybe he went home. Maybe someone got hurt and they were at the hospital. Normally Nahoya would have called Krissy it that was the case, but you still told yourself it was possible. Anything was possible as long as him being hurt wasn't.
The sun had risen and was sitting high in the sky when you heard the front door. The street was busy with cars and people rushing to work when the muttered whispers on the other side of your door reached your ears. A bird had landed on the roof just in front of you when you heard Krissy's gasp.
Some part of you knew, a small part knew before Krissy's knock rang through your room. Your heart was already aching before Krissy's voice broke the silence. Your tears were already spilling before she ever wrapped her arms around you.
"Mikey's gone. He disbanded TOMAN after last night's fight and no one can find him."
"He wouldn't just leave." You sobbed, wanting so bad to believe the desperate lies flinging themselves out of your mouth.
Smiley was the one to tell you what happened. "Something happened during the fight. I don't really know what it was, and honestly, I don't understand what I do know, but it's true. Mikey's gone. He took off this morning. I'm sorry, Y/N."
As much as you screamed at the both of them for lying to you, and as much as you denied everyone else as they tried to tell you the same thing, you knew it was true. You knew it was true for sure when you went to the Sano House and all of his favorite stuff was gone. Even his comfort towel blanket was gone.
"Y/N, come on. We have to go." Krissy said in a hushed tone behind you as you gripped Mikey's TOMAN jacket in your arms.
You let her escort you out and back home. You let her make you food and watch your favorite movies and listen to your favorite music, but if you were honest nothing was helping. This big hole in your heart, in your life, was now looking you dead in the eyes and you couldn't do anything to close it.
You eventually started pretending to be ok. You got up. You did things here and there. You went to school. You let Smiley and Krissy drag you along to things. You put a smile on and told everyone you had moved on and you were fine, but it was a lie. And you were sure Krissy knew it too. In fact, you knew she did, but she was hoping all the acting and pretending you did would eventually turn into the real thing. You know, fake it til you make it type shit.
But nothing could fill the gaping space in your life. No one would fix the wound in your heart. The only person who could possibly do it had been missing for years at this point. No one had seen him in years. Draken had tried to find him. You had tried. Hell, Krissy had tried to track him down for the first couple of years, but even she had to stop.
Life had carried on for everyone. Michi and Hina were getting married. Pah was married. Draken and Inui owned and ran a mechanic shop in town. Kazutora was out and running Chifuyu's pet shop with him. Mitsuya was a big-name designer now and Hakkai was his model while Yuzuha managed for her brother. Even the twins and Krissy had moved on with their lives. Angry and Smiley had opened their own Ramen shop and Krissy helped. Or she did, before she had Niya. Now Krissy stayed home and poured her life in raising her and Smiley's daughter.
"Auntie!" Niya was currently with you at the park. Krissy had to run and help her husband at the ramen shop, and you were available. You loved babysitting Niya. She was spunky and goofy, a lot like her mom.
"Hm?" You smiled at the rosy haired five-year-old as she ran towards you with a big grin on her face. You held your arms out and she ran into them, scooping her up in a tight hug. "What's up, goofy?"
"I saw this man over by the slide! He said he knew you." She cheered, pointing a small finger towards the blue slides-her favorites.
Concern shot through you, the adult in you kicking in. "Niya, how many times have we told you not to talk to strangers!" You lectured as you looked around for the sight of a man.
"But I didn't talk to him!" She pouted. "He talked to me." She glared, expecting some sort of apology. Just like her mother, she always had to be right.
You rolled your eyes. "Honey, what did this man look like?" You needed to get as much information as possible. That way you knew what to look for and what to tell Niya's dad. Smiley was the most protective dad you'd ever seen.
"Hmm, he had short white hair, and he wasn't tall like daddy, and he looked sad. He looked very sad." You wracked your brain for anyone with white hair and short, but outside of Waka you didn't know anyone with white hair, and wakasa's hair was long and no longer white.
"Oh! And he had this tattoo on the back of his neck. It was a square but long! And the top was white, and the bottom was black. Oh, and there was a circle in the middle, but it was black." Niya's little face scrunched as she thought hard for more details. And with what she had given you, you couldn't think of anyone.
"Is there anything else?" You asked, hoping there was some defining clue she just hadn't gotten to yet.
She nodded. "He said, 'Tell her to keep waiting. Keep opening the window and keep the light on'."
Your heart stopped. Tears brimmed your eyes. Air caught in your lungs.
"Did he say anything else?" You croaked out, fighting hard not to fall apart in front of your five-year-old niece.
"Yeah!" She cheered as she played with the band-aid on her knee. "But I don't think he was talking to me anymore."
"Was he on the phone?" You asked calmly.
She shook her head, ringlets of pink swaying from side to side. "Nu uh! To himself. He said, 'It's almost time to come home. Just keep waiting'."
After that you took Niya home. After she had gone to bed and both her parents had made it home you took off. You went back to your apartment just down the road, and the first thing you did was open the window and turn on the lights and play Mikey's favorite music, just like you had every night since he left.
You fell asleep on the couch again. You hadn't meant to, but something about the calm melody of that playlist made you drift off so easily. You sat up and rubbed your eyes, not registering the blanket draped along your body yet. The blanket you didn't have when you fell asleep.
When it finally clicked you looked up at the other end of the couch. You looked up at Mikey. His hair was cut short and bleached white now, and the circle under his eyes told you he hadn't slept well in a while. He looked slimmer and not in a healthy way. And Niya had been right to say he looked sad. But still, it was Mikey. It was your Mikey sitting on the other end of your couch.
"Mikey?" You said in more of a sob than you had planned.
He looked towards you and with a weak smile said, "Sorry I kept you waiting. I got caught up."
You giggled in another sob before you flung yourself onto him. His arms wrapped around you and his face buried into your hair and neck. He clung to you just as hard as you clung to him. You could tell he wanted to cry too, but you knew he couldn't, so you did for the both of you. He patted back your hair like he had done years before and kissed the top of your head like you were sixteen again.
"I can't believe you kept waiting." He said softly into the calm and warm silence that had settled over the both of you.
"You didn't say goodbye," you said as you traced your nails up and down his arms that were wrapped around you.
You felt the small flinch at your words. "I couldn't."
You shrugged lightly. "I knew you were coming back to me."
He looked down at you with a slight grin. "You didn't doubt that?"
"Not for a second."
And that was the truth. When you both went to bed, you knew there was a chance he wouldn't be there in the morning, but you believed he would be. You had no doubt when it came to Mikey. You knew he was your home, and you were his. You belonged to each other, and nothing could ever separate the two of you. Not time, not space, not even death.
So, when you woke up and he was there, you weren't shocked. You just snuggled closer to him and enjoyed his warmth.

Domino Chapter Nine
~Anaiya's POV~
A/N: Special chapter today! This one will be in the point of view of Anaiya...we'll get to experience Kira through her eyes for once. This may happen from time to time within the story just to switch it up and give a fresh view on some of the situations that go on in Domino.
The Domino Effect. How one small thing can cause a chain reaction. How was I supposed to know one call could cause this complete 180 in my life? The one thing this Domino Effect won't change is my determination to keep those close to me safe.
WARNINGS: This is not a XReader type story. There will be OCs. Rindou X OC, Ran X OC. Mentions of various Bonten things and events that have only happened in the manga. If you haven't read the manga, and don't anything to be spoiled...DO NOT READ THEN!

~Anaiya's Point of View~
I was sitting in the kitchen, planning Bonten’s next big Executive Party when I heard the elevator ding. Giddy to have them home I rushed to meet them in the living room. However, I noticed the palpable negative tension as soon as I saw them. Ran’s beautiful hair was a mess and dried blood marred his gorgeous face, which wasn’t out of the norm when he came home after work, but the agitated scowl was new. Rindou was normally pretty grumpy even on a light day, but his bruised face was stuck in a very angry expression. Both Haitani brother’s heated vibes pointed at one very redheaded cousin of mine.
“What part of teamwork do you not understand?” Rindou bit harshly as a very uncaring Kira.
She shrugged boredly as she handed off her bloody jacket and undid her long braid. “Thank you, Hatori.” She said with a tense exhale as the older butler took the bloodied fabric from her.
“Kira,” Ran shot out, attempting to try and demand she answer them. “We are having a coversation! The least you can do is answer us.” Ran boomed as Kira began to head for the stairs. His temper was whittling down quickly, making me very nervous for all three of them. Those three were each ticking time bombs in their own given rights.
“Welcome home!” I attempted to deter the fighting with a cheery welcome.
“No, you two are having a conversation. I told the both of you already I am not having this ‘conversation’ with either of you.” Kira turned sharply on her heels, her disposition like a fire that could quickly get out of hand. I saw the tension in her jaw flinch, her fists clenching and shaking, her left eye twitching. I saw what little hold on her temper she had just fading very quickly. “I am going up to my room. Please, feel free to continue this one sided lecture once I’m gone.” She waved a dismissive hand at both as she turned back around and stomped up the stairs.
Shocked and wide-eyed I watched her until she disappeared behind the railing. I looked silently at Ran and Rin, both looking like they were about to implode. Ran’s teeth were grinding by the look of his tense jaw, and Rindou was steaming. I didn’t want to poke the two obviously very feral lions, but I had to.
“What happened?” I asked a little more meekily than I had meant. I won’t lie and say I didn't flinch when both ice cold gazes snapped to me. “Ran?” I chirped weakly.
Exhaling and running hand through his already messed hair he dropped his shoulders and shook his head. He walked towards me and brushed a very small kiss on my head before exhaustedly flopping onto the couch.
“We don’t know.”
“Yes we do! She nearly got us fucking killed!” Rindou snapped loudly, obviously trying to pick a fight with Kira. “She’s an inconsiderate bitch!” He hollered up the stairs before joining Ran on the couch, just less exhausted and more revving for a fight.
“Kira never does anything she doesn’t know she can’t get herself out of.” I stated factually, not allowing the slander to my cousin. I knew her better than anyone. If she did something than she knew for a fact that she had control over the situation.
Rindou’s normally very bored but currently crazed lilac eyes snapped to me. “Oh? Well then it must of have been some other out of her fucking mind, crazed redheaded idiot who launched herself into a fight without so much as a second thought.”
“The mission?” I turned nervously to Ran. Mikey would kill Kira if she screwed up the mission.
…or he would try to at least.
Ran sighed and nodded his head. “The mission went fine.”
“It was after the mission everything went to shit!” Rin threw his hands in the air as his leg began to bounce incessantly.
I was thankful the mission went well. I sat on the coffee table in front of Ran in relief. Now I could focus on finding out what the fight was about and dress Ran’s injuries. “Kira can be a firecracker, but normally something has to set her off.” I defended her as I pulled the MedKit from the table drawer. “Why don’t you explain what happened?” I sighed as I poured some rubbing alcohol on a cotton puff.
Ran looked so tired as he shrugged his shoulders. “One second we’re walking out of the building, money in hand, then the next Kira is bashing this gangbanger’s face in.”
“She was tense the second we got there.” Rindou added with a grumble.
Furrowing my brows in confusion as I patted the alcohol puff on Ran’s cut up cheek. “She was pretty quiet this morning.” I pondered allowed.
Rindou shot a look at me and added, “Yeah! But she just went off on this guy. Out of nowhere practically.”
“I wouldn’t say out of nowhere, Rin.” Ran admitted with a groan and wince as I brushed a little too heavily on a scrap. “I mean it was like he was taunting her there for a minute. Then he muttered whatever the hell that was he said. That’s what set her off I guess.” He looked at me, a brow raised as he asked, “Do you know what a Bloody Halloween is? It sounds familiar, but I-”
“Oh my God.” I felt my stomach twist as I dropped the soaked cotton puff to the floor. “What day is it?” I asked no one in particular.
“What does that matter?” Rindou spat as he pouted in his couch corner.
I shot a glare and repeated, “What fucking day is it?”
He gawked at me as I had never gotten snappy with him before. “October thirty-first, damn. Why?”
“Oh God.” I shot up, unsure if I should run up the stairs or not. “No wonder she’s been so quiet the last couple days.” I felt like I had been punched in the gut. How stupid could I have been.
“What? What’s wrong?” Ran shot up, obviously now worried about me as I paced back and forth towards the stairs still unsure if I should run up them and to Kira or give her space. “Anaiya, hey!” He snapped, grabbing my shoulders and forcing me to look at him. “What is wrong?” He said more calmly.
Guilty tears brimmed my eyes as I looked into his worried lilac ones. “I’m the worst.” I said with a quiver in my voice.
“Oh, Princess, no you’re not.” He sighed and kissed my forehead.
Pushing him back as I sniffled. “Yes I am! I should have known today was Halloween. I’m so stupid!” I wasn’t the one who needed to be coddled and comforted right now. There were only three days out of the year I made sure I wasn’t the center of attention. Three days a year were about Kira. July 9th, her birthday; November 3rd, Baji’s birthday; and October 31st, the day Baji died.
“It’s just a dumb holiday. Don’t know why she’s got her panties in a damned twist. Say you don’t like the holiday and get on with your life.” Rindou scoffed with a roll of his eyes.
Snapping, I picked up the TV remote and three it at his head. I knew it didn’t hurt him, but it was the closest thing to me in the moment. Ran and Rin both looked at me in shock.
“What the hell? Is throwing things fucking genetic in your crazy ass family?” Rindou snapped, jumping up from his seat.
Pointing a finger out I snapped, “Don’t you ever say some stupid shit like that again! Halloween is a HUGE deal where we come from. The Bloody Halloween-October thirty-first, two-thousand-and-five. You should both remember it, considering both of you were there!” I pushed Ran off me for the first time ever and glared up at him. “The two of you watched as a fourteen-year-old boy was stabbed and died in the abandoned car lot just out of Shabuya. Remember now?”
Ran and Rin looked at each other and hung their heads in shame.
“The two of you were there while she couldn’t be. She didn’t get to say goodbye and she has carried that for years.” I was adding to their guild, but honestly I was just reflecting my own.
She hadn’t been there because of me.
Tumblr media
Kira and Baji never spent any time apart. Not since we were no more than seven or eight years old. So, his lack of presence in the last couple weeks did not go unmissed. In fact, Kira was very visibly off. I had watched her braid that same face framing strand of hair like six times in the last fifteen or so minutes. Baji was supposed to have stopped by to pick her up for some kind of personal thing, but he was an hour late and he had never been late before.
“Maybe he got hungry and stopped to get something.” I tried to comfort her. I was really bad at comforting people.
She glanced up at me from the couch. “Would have heard about it on the news.” She muttered as she undid that brain again.
“Yeah, I forgot he’s an aronsit.” I cringed. “Well, maybe he met up with Chifuyu for something.” I offered another possible excuse.
“They’re not talking right now.” She muttered in retort, rebraiding her framing strand again.
I winced at that one. I forgot he had left TOMAN. I forgot he beat Chifuyu into a pulp only a week or so ago. That new blonde kid Mikey was currently so fond of had told us. Kira hadn’t said anything when he did. She just blinked at the poor guy before pushing past him and left the TOMAN meeting completely.
She hadn’t said anything about it since.
“Kira, what exactly is-” A knock at the door saved me from my own curiosity. Kira would have just yelled at me to mind my own business like she had every other time I had asked her what was going on with Baji.
I watched my cousin jump up and fling the door open. Baji in all his pantene glory stood there, a deep frown maring his normally pretty handsome face. Lucky for Kira, I was more into the pretty blonde boys. A.K.A Manjiro Sano.
“Kei-”
“We have to go.” Baji cut her off, holding his hand out to her.
I watched, biting my lip. I wanted to stop her. I didn’t know what was going on with the normally very loyal animal boy, but I didn’t trust him right now. If I voiced my worries, however, Kira would rip my head off. The only person she probably cared about more than me would be Baji. He was the part of her life she got to choose.
“Where are we going?” She hesitated. I had never seen her hesitate with him before.
He looked back at me for the briefest of seconds before shaking his head. “Trust me?” He asked her, looking her in the eye.
That’s all it took before I saw her grab his hand and rush out the door. She didn’t come home until late that night, and when she did she was covered in bruises and holding a white jacket with a headless angel on the back with Valhalla written on the back. It took every ounce of loyalty I had to her to not tell Mikey what I had seen.
“Kira,” I whispered, unsure if I should ask.
She shook her head before adding, “Trust me?”
If there was one thing in this world I did trust, it was her.
Tumblr media
I had come home a couple of days later to see through Kira’s cracked door the two of them curled up on her bed, whispering about something. Being nosy, I sat just out of sight and listened to the two of them.
“Keisuke, I’m worried. I mean, shouldn’t we just tell Mikey what we know? He’ll believe you.” Kira sounded like she was pleading with him. She sounded like she had been pleading with him for a while.
“No, I’ve got to prove it. I can fix this. Just trust me.” Baji retorted quietly. “By the end of this we’ll all be fine. TOMAN will be whole again and that rat will be dead.” I felt the malice in his voice on that last part.
“I trust you.” I heard Kira say without a single doubt in her voice. “I trust you with my life.” I heard the bed creak ever so slightly. “You’re my future, Keisuke Baji.”
“And you’re mine, Kira Inusake.”
That night Baji stayed at our apartment, calling and telling his mom where he was in case she needed him. Kira had made me swear to not tell anyone where he was or even that we had seen him. She knew I was on the fence about telling Mikey. I wasn’t very good at hiding it.
I just prayed none of this came back to blow up in our faces. Especially Kira’s.
Tumblr media
A couple of days before the big Halloween fight between ValHalla and TOMAN I got a call. And not a good one.
“No way.” Kira paced back and forth in the kitchen. “No. No way in hell. She doesn’t get to just leave you and drop off the face of the year for eleven years to just call out of the blue like this, Iya. No.” She was fuming, and honestly I was a little annoyed by it. Kira was so mad it didn’t give me a chance to be. I mean this was my mom after all.
I sat at the small table with my hands cupping my face, just watching my cousin pace a hole in our floor. “Maybe it’s something important, Kira.”
“Like what, Anaiya?” She snapped at me, finally halting in her pacing. “Sorry I took off and left you with your sickly Grandma, honey, but I just wanted to tell you I married this famous rich man and I want you back in my life? Grow up, Iya. She wants you just as much as my mom wants me.” She scoffed before agitatedly leaning against the small kitchen counter.
I looked down at my hands and winced. “Ouch.” I muttered as tears brimmed my eyes.
“Anaiya,” I heard Kira’s soft sigh, “look I didn’t mean that.” She said before sitting next to me and slinging her arm around my shoulders. “You know what? I bet I’m wrong.” She gave me that signature side smirk and rocked me sideways ever so slightly.
I looked up, tears spilling down my face. “You think so?” I croaked.
Grinning like she had not a care in the world, Kira nodded. “Oh yeah. Why wouldn’t she? You’re great.”
I bit my lip before I dared to ask what I wanted to. I just knew she’d say no. The Halloween fight was two days away. Being away from Baji right now was not something she would willingly do.
“Do you think we can go then?” I muttered under my breath. Readying myself for the rant on how she just couldn’t leave right now, and how I knew that. My cousin had a very short fuse like ninety-eight percent of the time.
I heard her sigh heavily and felt her shoulders drop. “If you’re sure you want to see her.”
I perked up, gawking at Kira like she grew three heads. “Really?”
She sadly shrugged. “You come first.”
I didn’t know how much I would come to regret hearing that. How much I would come to regret letting her put me first that day.
Tumblr media
Kira had already been jittery and tense the day of the fight. Before we had left that day, Chifuyu had come by the apartment, Takemichi tagging along with him, swearing he had Baji’s back. She had nothing to worry about, she could trust him. The only other people to love Baji as much as she did was Chifuyu and Kazutora.
Or at least that’s what we thought when we left.
I noticed her twitch was particularly bad that day. Her leg bounced non-stop and her tapping didn’t stop the whole train ride to Harajuku. The small whistle she made when she was nervous just kept flowing out of her mouth, never stopping for a second. It was hard for Kira to trust others, and what she was entrusting to Chifuyu was the most precious thing in her life.
“We can go back, Kira.” I said quietly as we stood outside the train station.
I didn’t want to turn around, but I could see how hard being away was for her. And Kira had done everything and sacrificed all she had our whole lives for me. I would sacrifice this for her. It was the least I could do for her. My mom had abandoned me as quickly as she could. Kira had always been there and done whatever she needed to for me.
“No. This is important to you.” She shook her head and gave me the fakest smile I had ever seen on her. “I’m fine.”
I just nodded and let her think I believed her. I let her grab my hand and lead me to the small bistro we were supposed to meet my mother at. A small little outside seated area. Mostly likely a seasonal pop-up trying to get its last sales in before having to close for off-season.
My mom wasn’t hard to spot. She was like a sore thumb-sticking out horribly. Even though we were in the Chic District of Tokyo, Mom had always been dressed to the nines even in my very young memories of her. She was also American and very pale headed and very pale skinned with bright blue eyes. I was the spitting image of her of course. Her very boujee form fitted dress with the sweetheart neckline was a bright blue and her string of pearls were very shiny and flashy around her neck.
“Mom?” I croaked out, attempting to push back the tears.
She snapped her head around, looking me up and down. Not an ounce of love or joy or remorse for time lost in her features. Just a distasteful once over and a click of her tongue. She stood up and I could feel Kira tense up next to me, ready to push me behind her at the drop of a hat.
“Anaiya,” I hated the way my name sounded coming out of her mouth. It was cold and lacking a drop of love. She looked next to me and her eyes turned to daggers as she glared at Kira. “What are you doing here?” She spat, hardly addressing her niece.
“A lot more than you ever did.” Kira spat back, matching mother’s venomous aura.
Clicking her tongue again in distaste, mom looked down her nose at Kira. “Absolutely no manners, just like that ghetto trash that raised you.”
“That ghetto trash did a lot more than your uppity high and mighty gold digging ass.” Kira snapped back, not budging an ounce.
“Anaiya, why have you brought this delinquent scum with you?” Mom looked at me, her eyes boring holes into my very soul.
I furrowed my brows and looked at her in shock. “I didn’t know why you wanted to see me. I wasn’t coming all this way by myself.”
Scoffing and fixing the very expensive watch on her wrist, mom straightened her posture. “I’ve come to retrieve you.”
Gawking, I was shocked. Kira was tense, her alarm bells going off in her head. “You’ve come for me?”
Scrunching her nose and shaking her head. “I’ve come to retrieve you. My husband and I have made a few business deals that require your hand in marriage. As soon as we leave here we will be meeting with your soon-to-be husband at the courthouse.”
“Husband?” I parroted in confusion.
“She is fourteen, Cara. What sick fuck is trying to buy you fourteen-year-old daughter?” Kira snapped very loudly. She pushed me harshly behind her, protecting me from my own mother. “Anaiya isn’t going anywhere with you. I swear if you come anywhere near us again, Cara, I will show you what the ghetto has taught me.”
Looking down her nose at us again, my mother didn’t seem phased for a second. “You can’t protect her all the time, Kira.”
“Done pretty good so far.” Kira snapped back, shuffling me backwards.
“Is everything ok over here?” A police officer piped up a good hundred or so feet away.
Kira looked to him, suddenly very aware of where we were, what we looked like, where we came from, and all of those things about my mother. We looked like the aggressors. We looked like we were harassing her.
“Anaiya, run.” Kira snapped under her breath just before grabbing my wrist and taking off. “Fuck you, Cara. Hope to see you never!” She yelled over her shoulder at my mother, running as fast as she could while dragging me behind her.
We didn’t stop running until we illegally hopped on the train. Out of breath and hiding out in the back of the last cart, we leaned against each other. A couple people glanced at us on and off, but we were left unbothered for the most part.
Until my phone started ringing.
“Hello?” I yawned, the long train ride making me tired .
“Iya?”
“Draken?” I looked at Kira in confusion. She looked at me and I could tell her blood had just ran cold.
“Uh yeah, is Kira right there?” He asked hesitantly. Something was wrong. Draken never called me. Not even over Mikey. He always talked to Kira since he was close to her. The two of them like siblings.
I gulped before saying, “Yes.”
“Are you guys close?” He asked and Kira nodded.
“Yes.” I said cautiously. It was my turn to have alarm bells.
“How close?” He was staling.
“We’re coming into the station now. Why? What’s wrong?” I asked, not once breaking eye contact with Kira. There was a long pause over the phone. So long I thought the call had dropped for a second. “Ken?”
“It’s Baji.”
Tumblr media
We had gotten there seconds too late it seemed. Chifuyu was cradling Baji’s lifeless form in his arms, crying. Everyone was standing still, crying or attempting not to. Kira and I had run the whole way from the station. She didn’t stop until we got to the lot entrance, her whole world crashing around her forcing her body to pause. She just stood there, looking at Baji.
“Kira,” I heard someone gasp-I found out later it had been Smiley.
This seemed to snap some form of movement into her body. She took very slow steps, as if mind, body, and soul, she couldn’t believe what was laying still and breathless right in front of her eyes.
“Kei?” She croaked out. I felt my heart begin to crack for her. “Keisuke?” She was trying to hold back tears, her voice coming out hoarse and sounding like at any second she was going to be sick. She hit her knees beside him, her eyes wide and looking over his bloody and pale body.
“Kira,” Chifuyu started, his face streaming with tears.
The first tears fell out of her eyes as she bent down and laced her arms around his limp shoulders. Chifuyu completely ignored-and as we would soon come to find out, would stay that way when it came to my cousin. Kira’s shoulders began to shake and I couldn’t make myself move to go comfort her. It was like my whole body shut down.
“Wake up.” I heard her weak plea. “Come on, Kei, wake up.” She softly cried into his neck, but he didn’t move. We had gotten here too late. “Keisuke, come on. You can’t leave me.” She cried, now looking at his still face, wiping the smudges of his blood and her tears. “You’re my future, remember?” Her strength broke after that. She began to cry, pleading for him to wake up.
“You promised!” She cried into his chest. “You promised you wouldn’t leave. You promised forever!” She screamed out, hugging him as if it would bring him back.
I hadn’t noticed I was crying until Mikey had wiped the tears from my cheeks. Draken and Mitsuya both sadly went to Kira’s side, pulling her up to her feet and away from Baji’s lifeless body. They wrapped their arms around her and she wailed into their shoulders. Both shushing her and whispering comfort in her ear.
A siren was heard and everyone began to scadder.
It took Draken, Mitsuya, and Smiley to get Kira out of the lot. It took me and Mitsuya both to get Kira showered and changed. When the crying stopped it was like she shut down. She just sat there, staring at nothing, completely empty. Mitsuya helped me get her undressed and in the shower where I sat with her and washed her and as much of her body as I could. Once I got her washed, Mitsuya helped me get her own and into warm clothes before he picked her up and carried her into bed where he carefully brushed her hair and whispered comforting things to her. He couldn’t stay because of his sisters, so Smiley took over.
He spent the night and was there when she woke up screaming.
It was like that all the way up until his funeral where Mitsuya helped me get her dressed and ready, and Draken helped get her there. When she saw Ms. Baji, for the time being, she came too.
They cried together and Ms. Baji patted her hair and comforted her. He told Kira how much her son had loved her, how Kira had been Baji’s world, and how her home was still and forever open to Kira no matter what. I couldn’t help the tears that spilled from my own eyes as I watched and listened.
The whole funeral was sad, but sitting and watching Kira made it all the worse. She didn’t stop crying. And when everyone left, she sat by his grave and cried. There was nothing I could do or say to help her, and I was afraid of saying anything at all. I was afraid I’d say the wrong thing and just make it worse. So, I was just there. When one of the boys couldn’t stay with her, I slept next to her and shushed her back to sleep when she woke up screaming. I made sure she ate something and drank enough to keep her alive. For the majority however, it was like she had died with him, she just was cursed to still be here. I could see how every breath hurt her.
And his birthday only three days later? That was hard. Draken and Mitsuya both had forced her to eat, they had to hold her down when she kicked and screamed and cried and pleaded to just let her die. Life as I knew it was extremely rough for a while, but it was nothing compared to what she was feeling.

Domino Chapter Eight
The domino effect. How one thing happening can cause a chain reaction. How were you supposed to know a call home made by your cousin would be the tipping domino that sets off the next several years of your life?

I looked at Rindou in shock. “What?” I chirped, completely thrown off guard.
He opened his mouth to say something, but Anaiya’s loud cheer rang above the thumping music before he could get a word out.
“Kira!”
I turned to her, trying to shake the feeling of shock and confusion from my body. “What?” I yelled back over the music.
Iya was still settled on Ran’s lap, smiling brightly and innocently. You would fall for her charm if you didn’t know that innocent air that seemed to surround her was just a lure. Anaiya was far from the brainless good girl a lot of people foolishly believed her to be.
“Come to the lady’s room with me.” She boomed high spiritedly.
Before I could say yes or no I was being hauled to my feet and my wrist gripped tightly in my cousin’s hand. I didn’t even try to fight it. It would be pointless if I had. She would just drag me while whining and pouting the whole way about how I was being mean or unfair.
I wasn’t at all surprised to learn the restroom we would be using was not the public one. No, instead of a very slow and never ending line that normally accompanied the women’s restroom Anaiya led me only ten or so feet from the VIP lounge to a guarded bathroom with VIP  scribbled across it in pretty purple lettering. Inside the restroom matched the whole Club. The lights were dim and the sinks were matt black. The walls were decorated with neon art and pretty paintings. There was a surprisingly comfortable looking couch in the middle of the rather spacious restroom just a few steps from the sinks. This is where Anaiya plopped down and rested a leg over her knee.
“So, you and Rindou.”
The grin spread wide across her pretty painted face made me want to whack her upside the head. She was so damned nosy. Not once growing up did I get a second of peace and personal space. Iya always had to know everything, and when she didn’t she was busy trying to find out as much as she could. All this while already making assumptions in her head.
“You are such a busybody.” I retorted flatly and leaned against the sinks in front of her.
She shrugged and lit a joint she pulled from her cleavage. She took two hits before holding it out for me to take. “We already knew this.” She said matter-of-factly as I plucked the joint from her fingers. “What I need know is what is going on between you and Rinnibell.”
“Rinnibell?” I cringed and raised a brow at her as I took a second puff.
She chuckled as she plucked the joint from my outstretched hand. “He hates it. I love it.” I chuckled at this, storing the nickname away for future taunts. “Now, spill. You got the hots for my future brother-in-law or what?”
Rolling my eyes I pushed my hair back in irritation. “Stop playing cupid, Iya.”
“I’m not!” She mocked insulted. “I’m playing snoop.” She added with a grin and a chuckle.
“Well stop. There’s nothing to snoop on.” I countered and snatched the joint back from her hand. “And it’s puff, puff, pass. No puff, puff, and keep going.” I snapped before placing the weed cigarette to my lips.
“So snappy tonight.” Anaiya pouted before turning back to tauntingly smirking. “Is it all the sexual tension? Making Kira all flustered and frustrated.” She mocked a baby voice in taunting.
I flicked her in the forehead.
“Ouch! I bruise easily, Kira!” She pouted, holding her forehead as if I had cut it open.
Shrugging I took another hit. “Shouldn’t be so nosy.”
“I’m just trying to help you get laid!” She cried out, now glaring daggers at me.
Quirking my brow with a gruff of a chuckle falling past my lips I said, “Does it look like I need any help with that?”
Sulking on the couch and holding her hand out for the joint Anaiya said, “No.”
“Ok. Then mind your business.” I said as I blew smoke out past my lips.
Rolling her eyes, Anaiya began to stand up. “Like I could ever do that.” She put the joint out on the bottom of her heel before tossing the roach in the trash. “I know you have a thing for Rindou. The game you’re playing has an end I’ve seen before.”
Glaring sharply at my blonde cousin I growled out, “Don’t go there, Iya.”
She shrugged and walked past me towards the exit. “I’ve seen you do it once before. And you got what you wanted in the end.”
“That was different.” I snapped out.
She looked at me with an all too knowing gaze. “Was it?”
“He was different. Plus I was a kid, Iya. I wasn’t doing anything the same as I am now.” I said with a tone of warning in my voice. She knew better than to press these buttons.
“So a flirty touch on the arm and a winking flirt turned to teasing almost kisses and sexual tension. It’s called evolution, Kira. That’s all that’s changed.” She bit back, cocking out her hip. “Keisuke will never be replaced in your heart. No one is trying to and I’m not trying to make someone do it either. All I’m saying is I’ve never seen you taunt and tease someone unless you wanted them.”
“I’ve changed. I grew up.” I tried to argue back, but she had me in a corner. She wasn’t wrong. I liked the chase, but I only chased when I wanted my prey. I didn’t put any effort into one-nighters or bitch-boys I was only keeping around out of boredom.
“If you’re not going to admit it to me, then admit it to yourself at least.” She sighed before turning to leave.
I looked down at my feet. I hadn’t liked anyone since Keisuke. I hadn’t bothered with actual dating since he had died. I just kept distractions around for the hell of it or when my body felt the loneliness a little too harshly. I hadn’t expected to find any form of chemistry or fun with anyone ever again.
“I find him nice to look at. And he isn’t annoying.” I admitted aloud. Anaiya snapped her head around, grinning from ear-to-ear. “That’s all you’re getting.” I glared and pushed past her, walking out of the bathroom with her skipping behind me.
“That’ll do for now.” She chirped.
As we were heading back to the VIP Lounge, only a few feet from the restroom, I was knocked back by a rather large man. He was most definitely drunk, and his bulk body smacked right into mine. If I hadn’t been trained to quickly gather my balance at any moment, I would have been knocked on my butt.
“Hey!” Anaiya snapped, glaring at the guy after looking me over. “Watch it! You nearly ran us over.” She lectured the man who was barely hearing a thing she said.
He had turned to face us as she did. His eyes blew out wide. He wasn’t drunk. He was high off something. My best guess was something that muddled the nerves in his body. He hadn’t noticed when he knocked into us.
“Anaiya,” I said cautiously, trying to pull her behind me, “just drop it.”
“No! He practically knocked you over. He needs to watch where the hell he is going.” She gripped and turned to him, her finger in his face. “I don’t care if your high, drunk, or stupid. Watch your step!” She nearly hollard in his face.
I watched the twitch of his brow and the lecherous gaze of his eyes as he looked her up and down. Not a single word she had set had actually reached his ears. He didn’t speak either. The drugs probably had him thinking he was. Without a word spoken this bulky man reached out a hand and gropped Anaiya’s right breast.
“What the hell!” She screamed, unbelievably pissed.
“Hey!” I snapped up, yanking her behind me. “Hands off buddy!” I glared, but I was watching him carefully. I couldn’t guess his next move. There was no indication or hint he’d do anything. So, when he quickly snapped his hand out and yanked me by my hair, I was thoroughly thrown off.
“Kira!” Anaiya screamed out, probably panicking due to the fact she hadn’t fought a day in her life nor did she know how to. “Ran! Help!” She started screaming out.
“Get off me.” I said aggravatedly as I threw my whole body weight into a stomp-kick that connected with his knee. He went down, but not without letting go of my hair. “Ow! What the fuck.” I yelped before trying to connect a hit or slap to his face as he pulled me to the ground with him.
I was trying hard, but he had me by the root of my hair from the back of my head. My head was held downwards with the weight of his arm pushing it, to to mention I was now fallen on my knees as he had collapsed down to his ass. Every time he attempted to stand, he tried to use me as something steady to push his body weight down on. Every time he did this I’d connect a hit to his chest to knock him back down before going back to trying to pry his fingers out of my hair.
I didn’t know how long I sat there struggling with this man. It felt like forever, but it probably was only a minute or so before my hair was suddenly free and I was lifted off the ground and hauled back to my feet. Before I knew what was happening I saw wide shoulders I was pressed securely behind. The black fabric of a crisp button down shirt. Tendrils of black and purple hair.
“Death wish alert.” Rindou seethed.
Tumblr media
“Haul him up. Take him out back.” Sanzu suddenly appeared next to Rindou, three large Bonten men behind him. The three yakuza soldiers nodded their heads nearly in sync before walking around Sanzu and hauling my attacker up and out of the club. Without turning to Rindou, Sanzu said, “I’ve got this one. I’ve been itching to slice someone up.” Before strutting off to follow behind the cotton candy drug addict.
In those few breaths as we watched Sanzu disappear into the crowd of dancing people, I began to notice the hand firmly pressed against my back, and the arm attached to it that wrapped behind Rindou and myself that shielded me from everything around me. I noticed the heavy and soothing smell of his musky and rich cologne that invaded my senses.
“You ok?” Rindou finally asked, not loosening his grip on me. I felt how heavy he was breathing by the heaving of shoulders and back. I just nodded into his back as I was pressed firmly into it. “Ran’s got Anaiya. They’re headed out to the limo.” He informed me slowly as I continued to nod in understanding. He slowly let his grip on me go and turned to face me, his chest now eye level with me. I looked up to see his lilac eyes assessing me and looking me over. “You think you can act cool as we head to the car?”
“Yeah.” I breathed out before he took my hand and began to pull me past all the dancing and grinding bodies.
As we drew closer to the exit Rindou pulled me in front of him, and placed a firm hand on my lower back to guide me. He was quick paced, and as we walked outside and the cameras of paparazzi flashed he held his head down and told me to do the same. A guard opened the door and he blocked my body from view as I ducked into the car. When he was in and the door was shut, he sat closer to me, his whole side encasing mine as he rested his arm across the back of the seats.
I looked up to see Ran holding Anaiya’s face as he slowly wiped tears from her cheeks with his thumb. He held her so carefully it made my heart ache. He pulled her face forward ever so slightly before pressing a soft and gentle kiss to her forehead then holding her close to him. It was slightly shocking to see a man I knew killed people brutally hold my cousin so gently with the same hands.
“She ok?” I said slowly to Rindou.
He nodded his head and said, “Just a little rattled.”
“She’s not hurt?” I asked as I watched her wrap her arms around Ran’s neck as he hauled her up into his lap and held her tightly.
“Just worried about you.” Rindou muttered.
Sighing I shook my head. “Anaiya, I’m fine. He didn’t even hit me.”
Her head shot up from the crook of Ran’s neck, her pretty makeup slightly smeared. “Your head ok?” She sniffled.
Giving her a comforting smile I said, “I’ve got a hard head. Barely felt a thing. So stop crying ok? I’m fine.”
With a couple more sniffles and a stuttered breath she nodded her head and layed it back down on Ran’s shoulder.
The car ride back was silent. Fatigue hung heavy in the air as each of us let a couple yawns out here and there. Anaiya was nearly asleep by the time we pulled up to the front of the complex. Ran carried her in bridal style while Ran just let me use him as a leaning post. The elevator ride up was a bit hard considering I nearly fell asleep against Rindou’s arm.
Once in though, Ran took Anaiya up to their room to shower and head to bed. I followed suit as I wanted to scrub the ick of the night off my body. Once I didn’t see a single sparkle of body glitter and every ounce of makeup had been scrubbed from my face, I got out of the glass shower and dried off. I slipped a pale blue silk nightie on and loosely tied the matching robe around it before descending back downstairs to find something to munch on. I was searching the fridge when I heard the doors swing open.
Looking up and over my shoulder I saw Rindou completely shirtless and only wearing gray sweats.
“Get hungry too?” I asked before going back to my search. I hide behind the massive fridge door, hoping the cool air of the refrigerator would rid me of the blush dusting my cheeks. Rindou was defined, not an ounce of fat on his tattooed body.
“Munchies.” He gruffed out as I heard him move one of the heavy wooden chairs to sit in.
Looking down in the freezer I found a tub of cookie dough. Pulling it out and closing the door I held the yellow tub up and playful shook it. “Cookie dough time!” I quietly cheered. I heard a small chuckle drift in the air coming from Rin. He had a brow raised in amusement as he watched me dorkishly dance around with a large yellow tub of frozen chocolate chip cookie dough.
“Are you five?” He mocked me as I searched for spoons.
Faking insult I gasped dramatically before yanking spoons up out of the kitchen drawer. “Well, I know who I won’t be sharing with!” I turned with my nose in the air and headed out of the kitchen.
“Hey! No, I want some!” Rindou shouted out, quickly getting up to follow after me.
I plopped down on the couch and popped the lid open, a rush of excitement coursing through me. “Ugh! Nothing better than some cookie dough when you’re high.” I sighed before digging a spoon in.
I felt the dip of the couch next to me. I looked up to see Rindou with a pout on his face and big eyes looking from the tub to me. Rolling my eyes I pulled the spoon out from next to me and handed it over to him. Smiling wide with red tinted eyes he took the spoon and dug in. The second the dough hit his tongue and he groaned out I smirked.
“See? Nothing better.” I giggled before plopping another spoonful into my mouth.
He swallowed and said, “Why have I never tried this before?”
“Because you’re not ‘five’.” I mocked the depth of his voice before we both started booming with laughter.
“I do not sound like that.” He chuckled out as we both kept devoring the Nestle dough.
Rolling my eyes with a snort I say, “Ok.”
A few minutes went by with just us joking and eating the raw dough, high as hell, before an odd air filled the room. I cleared my throat before putting the tub on the coffee table, suddenly done with my snack. I sat for a second and looked at my feet before I looked over to Rindou. He was doing the same as I was. Awkwardly looking at everything and anything besides me.
“So, uh, thank you…you know, for helping me.” I cringely say, rubbing my arms as if I was suddenly cold.
He looked up at me quickly then back down to his feet. “No problem. Dude was a dick.”
“Well, he’s a dead dick now.” I joked poorly. A pregnant and awkward pause filled the air between us again, making my skin itch. I sat in it for a few minutes before I couldn’t stand it anymore. I stood up and turned to him and said, “Well, I’m going to bed. So, uh, goodnight.” I smirked and turned to head up the stairs.
“Goodnight.” He called back with a cough.
As soon as I was out of his sight I bolted to my room. I’d be lying if I said I slept at all that night. Everytime I closed my eyes all I saw was wide and broad shoulders, black fabric stretching across a muscular chest, and bored lilac eyes.

"I'm sorry, what?"
I blinked at the sunshine Anaiya standing in front of my bed, two very skimpy dresses clutched in her hands. The one in her right was black and very tiny and had massive holes in it. The one in her right was a deep blue and looked like mesh fabric...as in the whole thing was see through and had no second layer within it.
"We're going out." She smiled and gestured back to the two dresses in her hands.
I blinked a couple times at her, my brain trying hard to retain what she was saying. "To where? The red light district?"
"Not far from it I guess." She was so naïve it hurt. "We going to one of Ran and Rindou's clubs." She cheered and threw the dressed down on the bed.
"Do you people not sleep?" I groaned, flopping back down on my bed.
I had been out since five that morning listening to Sanzu give orders to his fleet of men, introducing me for whatever reason. After Sanzu was Kakucho and then Ran and Rindou. As soon as I got back to the penthouse I went to bed, just to be woken back up after only a few hours. It was like none of them knew was rest was.
"Sure we do. Now get up." Anaiya rolled her eyes before grabbing my wrists and pulling me up and out of bed. "Now, go shower and shave and wash your hair!"
"Bossy." I muttered under my breath as she shoved me into the bathroom.
After doing as she orders and making sure every inch on myself was as smooth as a newborn, Anaiya lathered honey and coco scented body oil and lotion all over my body...BY FORCE! After she made sure I smelled like the inside of a Bath and Body Works, she forced me to sit as she curled my hair down my back like a red waterfall and sprayed some very glittery coco perfumed substance in it.
"Is that body glitter?" I groaned as she continued to spray the substance over my body.
"Yes. Now sit still." She barked as she concentrated.
After the body glitter was applied to her liking and she finished with my makeup which she made very bronzy and bright, she did her own routine on herself. Her makeup reminded me of Barbie with how dainty and yet glammy she made herself appear. Then she pulled out the dresses, and this is when we started arguing back and forth.
"This is a fishnet, Iya." I said flatly, holding up the mesh and purposely ripped fabric.
She rolled her eyes, her heavy lashes making it more dramatic. "Then maybe you'll catch something in it."
"The flu." I retorted before shoving it back in her hands. "No way in hell."
"Why not!" She cried out like she was four again. Ever the tantrum thrower.
I looked at her flatly and said, "Because I'm not a trophy wife."
"But you could be!" She pouted more, then insult flying ever so high above her pretty blonde head.
"Anaiya," I sighed, "I am not wearing the UTI waiting to happen you call a dress." I turned and picked up a leopard printed leather and very tight looking laced up crop top along with a pear of black pants. "If I wear this will you shut up?"
She looked it over, mulled it over before looking back at me with this a seriousness I did not think anyone could muster over a topic like this. "Wear these boots and yes." She held up these stiletto boots and rolling my eyes I took them.
"Fine." I groaned and started to get dressed.
"I look like Pamela Anderson with red hair." I muttered unamused at my reflection. The top showed the girls ridiculously. "The only thing this shirt hides is my nipples." I groaned and looked over to my cousin. "Great! You look like slutty trophy wife Barbie."
"Really?" She cheered as if I was complimenting her.
Her blonde hair was straightened perfectly, her lighter complected body sprayed down with the body glitter, and her form hugged so tight by her pale pink haltered top mini dress you would think it was painted on. The "key hole" of the dress was rather large, and her breasts were nearly put on as much display as mine were.
"I can't stand you." I groaned and turned on my heels, picking the black clutch up from my bed and walking out of my room.
"Wait for me!" She whined loudly before trailing after me, her own sparkling silver clutch in her hand.
"No." I said flatly, descending the stairs as she rounded the corner out of my room.
I looked down in the living room where I saw Ran in fitted white slacks and a pale pink button down that was billowy and hung on him elegantly; Sanzu in some red leather pants and a grey skin tight shirt with his cotton candy hair tied back in a half up half down; and the Rindou his tight fitted black slacks that showed his very muscular and toned legs and a very fitted black button down he left mostly unbuttoned to show his toned and defined chest.
As I reached the last steps I heard Sanzu whistle and follow with a chuckle. "Jungle Cat on the loos tonight."
I looked him up and down and raised a brow. "This coming from the what? Submissive sex slave? For Tequila sake, Haruchiyo, you look like you're going to a sex club."
"And you look like someone's sex kitten." He shot back.
Grinning I said, "But never yours, Pinky Pie."
"Fuck you." He rolled his eyes and flung himself on the couch beside Rindou.
"You wish, coke head." I sat down on the other side of Rindou, in between him and his brother. I felt Rin's chilled gaze on me as I sat oddly close to him. That made me grin.
"Anaiya's idea?" Ran looked me over once before smirking. "Can't tell her no either, can you." He chuckled as Anaiya sauntered from around the couch, landing her spoiled plump rear on his lip as he lounged back in his seat.
"No one can, baby." She smiled pretty before pecking his lips.
Gaging I looked to the other goons next to me. Sanzu was snorting up a line and Rindou was looking down at his phone boredly. I took this time to notice the thick gold watch sitting on Rindou's wrist and the rings decorating his long fingers.
"See something you like, Jungle girl?" He asked amusingly and taunting. His eyes cut down at me from their corners and a small grin plastered on his face.
Giving his a sweet smile I looked up at him and ran a hand through his long hair before slowly cupping his cheek, a finger brushing over his lip slowly. I leaned forward, getting an inch from his lips and letting a breath pass between us. I tilted my head as if I would go in for a kiss. I slowly leaned in and dodging his lips and instead getting close to his ear.
"Your watch." I breathed huskily in his ear grin a grin plastered on my bronze-red painted lips. I leaned back and stood up, walking towards the door. "Everyone ready? I wanna party." I cheered and sauntered around the couch and towards the elevator.
The room had been still and the tension filling the room palpable. Ran and Anaiya smirked to themselves before getting up to join me while Rindou sat looking forward with a blush dusting his cheeks.
Sanzu, still leaning over his coke mirror, frozen in shock with wide eyes looked at Rindou. "Fuck, that'll make you horny!" He shouted before quickly snorting his last line and shooting up to prance towards us waiting by the elevator.
Rindou finally got up and as we all stood in the elevator I felt his eyes boring holes in my head. By the time we got to the lobby floor and the elevator dinged, Rindou was radiation tension again. Everyone quickly left the metal box, Sanzu being the first like the crack head he was. As I stepped out I felt a warm hand trail up my exposed back before give thick fingers gripped the back of my neck and warm lips pressed up against my ear.
"Game on." Rindou's husky and low voice nearly growled in my ear.
Tumblr media
Anaiya wasn't joking when she said the Haitani Club we would be going to was very close to the red light district. However, the club wasn't filthy and filled with whores for pay. No, I felt like I had walked into a mob show when we rolled up in the limo. Guards walked to the doors and opened them, Sanzu, Ran, and Rin exiting the vehicle first as the stood and straightened the attired before Ran turned to lend Anaiya his hand to help her out. I didn't expect it when Rindou offered me his.
As he helped me out of the car, with a sturdy hand he shifted me in front of him and guided me in. Flashing lights around us as we entered were not club lights. They were paparazzi cameras flashing with pictures.
"Great, now my face will be plastered on every magazine and newspaper by morning." I muttered as we entered the building.
Rindou leaned forwards and tauntingly whispered, "Good thing it's a pretty one," in my ear. Shivers ran down my spine I will not lie.
Sanzu was flouncing around happily, his high definitely kicking in. Ran and Rindou guided Anaiya and I too a roped off area I knew could only be meant for those in Bonten. Two massive guards stood on the outside of the ropes looking and watching the area around us, and a girl in a very tight and skimpy cocktail dress approached us with a bar tray in her hand.
"Mr. Haitani and Mr. Haitani, welcome back." She bowed. "Would you like a bottle for your party?"
"No." Ran said boredly. "Two scotches dry, a vodka cranberry, and a tequila cranberry. All top shelf." He looked to Sanzu who was pulling another little baggy from his pocket. "A water for him." Ran said with a tinge of annoyance in his voice.
"Of course, Sir." The girl bowed again and took off towards the bar.
Lounging back once more, Ran and Rindou looked as though they had back at the Penthouse. Calm, bored, and cool. Anaiya smiled brightly from her perch in Ran's lap, her fingers tracing Ran's open palm up hand. He was whispering God only knows what in her ear to make her giggle like that, a cocky smirk on his lips.
"They're always like that." Rindou commented as he noticed me watching the pair in amusement.
I looked at him and smiled. "I think it's cute. Iya deserves to be doted on."
He looked at me and then glanced up at them. He looked at me again, I could feel his eyes on me, but I couldn't the slip of longing that crossed my features. Even though we were young, and we weren't as grabby and X-rated, Keisuke and I had been like Anaiya and Ran once. That's how I knew she was happy. I recognized that happiness.
Rindou looked serious and a bit bored as he looked down at me and said, "You do too."

Domino Chapter Six
The domino effect. How one thing happening can cause a chain reaction. How were you supposed to know a call home made by your cousin would be the tipping domino that sets off the next several years of your life?
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter today guys. Been busy and don't have a whole lot of time to sit and write. Will have a longer one sunday I promise!

Without a smirk or smug smile or any sign that this was a breathing human being, Mikey turned and walked towards the stairs before he went up them and disappeared. Everyone was silent, watching even long after he had vanished behind the second floor railing. My fists clenched and unclenched over and over at my side, my jaw tense and grinding my teeth.
"Kira," Anaiya's hesitant voice rang behind me, Ran still blocking her body with his. I could feel the tension in the room seeping into my skin.
Slapping an obviously fake grin I turned towards her. "Don't worry 'bout it, Iya. It's fine." I said as cheery as I could. We were grown women, but I still felt the need to keep Anaiya from worrying or stressing over me.
"But-"
"Welcome to the ranks." Ran cut her off, seeing the desperation in my eyes. I needed her to believe I was ok. I needed Anaiya to think everything was fine and just handle it how I needed to.
I nodded in appreciation. I took a deep breath before clapping my hands together and forcing myself to adapt to my new situation. Freaking out and letting my anxiety run free wasn't going to get me anywhere let alone help me. Staying calm and remembering all the relaxing thoughts I taught myself on my travels was my best bet.
"I get one of those fancy pants offices now right?" I cheered, turning to Kokonoi who was now standing in the front of a hallway, his mouth hanging open.
He looked at me and tried to compose himself. "Uh, yes. You'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'll order some furniture for it." He turned on his heels and scurried off to his office probably to hide from everyone.
"Boo! I don't like waiting." I mocked a pout. I turned back to face Iya and smiled brightly at her-this time a little more believably. "How's about that lunch now?"
Tumblr media
Anaiya had taken Ran, Rindou, and myself to a pretty extravagant rooftop restaurant. Large sushi boats were placed on the table along with delicious looking side vegetables. Anaiya had ordered herself a vodka cranberry and the Haitani brothers both ordered scotch dry.
"Kira, would you like a Vodka Cran?" Ran offered with a lazy smile, the waitress looking at me expectantly.
Smiling to the young girl I said, "Tequila and Cranberry please."
"Tequila? It's a little early to get that wild." Rindou commented sarcastically.
Rolling my eyes I let Anaiya answer for me. "She can't have vodka. It makes Kira extremely aggressive." She stated matter-of-factly.
"Isn't she already?" Rindou muttered under his breath.
Cutting my eyes to him I say, "Magic purple marker say what?"
"What?" He snapped, a second later realizing what he fell for. "Bitch." He barked out.
Smugly I shrugged my shoulders and picked up a piece of Squid Nigirizushi. "At least I'm not a magic purple marker."
"I like her." Ran smirked, looking over to Anaiya joyfully.
Anaiya chuckled and said, "She's definitely a handful."
Arching a brow I looked across the table at her as the waitress returned with out drinks. "Me? Anaiya, let's not who blew up a school microwave in second year of high school."
Ran, who had tried to take a sip of his scotch, choked and amusingly looked over to his fiancé. "You what?"
Red in the face from embarrassment, my cousin quickly turned to Ran to explain. "I didn't do it on purpose!" I didn't know what she was so frantic about explaining something so minor. Her fiancé was a hitman for the most infamous Yakuza.
"No, she just didn't want to throw her chip bags away so she slid them in behind Toshi Sensei's microwave until one day when it just went Pop!" I snickered at the memory. No one ever figured out who did it, but the utter look of terror on Anaiya's face that day still made me laugh. She had panicked about the school figuring out it was her for weeks after.
"Why didn't you just throw the chip bags away?" Rindou inquired, completely confused.
Grinning I said, "That's the fun part. She doesn't know. The trash can was right next to the microwave."
"The trash was under the microwave table, and I didn't want to bend down to throw them away." She pouted, throwing me adorable little pissed off glares. "And if we're throwing shade then let's talk about when Kira snuck out of school just to sneak into Chifuyu's school."
"Huh?" Ran and Rindou both looked at me with utter confusion, and to their defense it did sound odd.
"Inarizanki was so boring. And that one Miya twin, what was his name? The one we called pisshead?"
"Atsumu?"
"Yeah! Atsumu was so annoying all the time. And besides, nearly giving Chifuyu a heart attack and pissing him off was alway so fun." I chuckled and relaxed back in my chair, sipping my drink.
"Miya Atsumu?" Rindou gawked, his eyes wide while Ran looked shocked.
Arching a brow I said, "Yes. Pisshead. He was so damned annoying. He use to run around and talk about how great he was going to be in the major volleyball league." I rolled my eyes at the memory. "But his brother was sweet. Osamu I think. He and Suna Rintaro were always so calm compared to his moronic brother."
"Suna Rintaro?" Rindou repeated me again.
"Yes! Suna Rintaro and Atsumu and Osamu Miya. They were in my class. Are you going to keep repeating me?" I snapped, annoyed. I did not like being parroted.
"Suna Rintaro is the middle blocker for the EJP Raijin and Miya Atsumu is the starting setter for the MSBY Black Jackals." Ran took a gulp of his scotch and then said. "There some of the most famous players in the major league right now."
Anaiya looked start struck, like she had just realized she had known royalty. Of course, she was about to marry a very infamous man, but who was I to make that clear to her. I, however, was not all that awstruck.
"I know. I've run into both them and some other guys while out on the road." I popped another piece of sushi into my mouth and shrugged. "That kid from Nekoma, the awkward one, I saw him back in Florida. Said he was 'vlogging around the world for the summer'."
"You saw Kenma? Wow, small world." Anaiya chirped, then her face went smug as she said, "You ask about his friend? The one you had that major crush on?"
"I did not have a crush on Kuroo!" I snapped back, I could feel the blush spreading across my face.
Smugly she said, "He's the only name you remember."
"Well you liked that annoying pretty boy from Aoba Johsai! You saw him what? Two times in the nationals and claimed you were 'in love'." I pointed out, smirking when he face turned red.
"You girls liked volleyball." Ran said amusingly watching us go back and forth as we aired out more and more of our past hilariously.
"Kira liked that kid with the weirdly frosted tips from Fukurodani!" She pointed a finger at me like we were kids in trouble again. "Bokuto something or other!"
"Bokuto Kotaro?" Rindou gawked.
Rolling my eyes I retorted, "Well at least I wasn't obsessed with that lizard kid from Shiratorizawa. Satori Tendo, boy was that kid off."
"Well what about your fixation with Karasuno's couch our third year?" She glared.
"Doesn't compare to you frothing over the germophobic Kiyoomi Sakusa from Itachiyama." I shot back smugly.
"How many famous volleyball players do the two of you know!" Rindou snapped, cutting mine and Anaiya's arguement short.
I raised a brow at him amusingly before uttering, "Does the big and bad Haitani Rindou of Roppongi fan girl over some volleyball players?"
He glared and growled out, "Bitch."
Ran watched delightedly as Rindou and I held eye contact. Rindou glaring and myself amused and taunting. Ran looked to Anaiya and said jokingly, "I think they're in love."

I went to bed not long after my heart-to-heart with Ran Haitani. A younger me would never believe I did that. If I could go back in time and tell the fifteen-year-old me that younger me would smack the shit out of myself in disbelief.
My room was large, about the size of the whole dingy little apartment Anaiya and I use to share-and that was just the room. The bathroom was large and very nice, and the large tub was probably going to be my new favorite place. The bed was most definitely a King from the sheer size, and from the all black décor I knew Iya had me in mind when she decorated it. The dresser placed in a nice sized closet had already been packed with the clothes I had in my duffles-which were now folded neatly and placed on a shelf in the far corner.
I slept very lightly that night. Every small sound waking me up. My nerves were shot by morning, and all I wanted was to sink further in my unconsciousness. Just as it seemed I would get my wish, Anaiay came barreling in like an excited puppy.
"Wake up, Sunshine!" She cheered loudly, the door bursting open with her sunny disposition. She danced over to my window wall, throwing the large blackout curtains, bright sunlight flooding in and stinging my sensitive eyes.
I groaned in displeasure, hiding my head in the fluffy pillows. Loud happy music filled the room, and the covers were ripped from my body. I felt cold hands wrap around my ankles and yank me from the fort of pillows I had built around me head.
"Anaiya!" I cried out as she pulled me up to stand, a large smile plastered across her face as she swung my arms around in some awkward forced dance.
"Uppy uppy, Kira!" She danced around, spinning in little circles before disappearing into my new closet. "We've got to head to the office today!"
I flopped back onto the bed, covering my arms with my arm. "Why?" I called out in annoyed groan. I just wanted to sleep!
"I always go to the office in the morning." She popped out from around the corner with some clothes on a hanger in one hand and some very nice heels in the other. "Now, up and in the show!" She forced me up against and pushed me towards the bathroom.
Groaning the whole time I did as she asked. Scrubbing me down with a expensive cocoa body wash and washing the smell of bar and beer from my hair. Once out Anaiya forced me into this honestly very comfortable black silk robe- the twin to her white one-and then nearly held me at gun point to put makeup on. I guess I had to look the part if I was going to be walking into the Bonten Office like I was fucking one of the executives.
The outfit I could only assume Anaiya had purchased I didn't hate. Very edgy and me. The lacey maroon bodysuit very tight and built in with a push up bra, the skin tight black paints looked nearly painted on along with the Gucci belt Anaiya forced me to wear with the threat of tears. The cropped leather jacket felt nice against me skin, and the maroon heels velvety and at least four inches in height. Anaiya held me down and as I muttered and groaned under my breath she curled my hair back to look like that american actress from the seventies-Farrah Fawcett.
I thought I looked like I was screwing a yakuza executive...at leasr until I saw the perfect little angel in white Anaiya.
The white silk mini dress covered her supple rear just barely, a slit cut just below her hip. The jewel studded straps crossed behind her back, causing her back to appear slimmer and her features to come across dainty. The lilac strappy heels matched the over sized lilac blazer she wore only to her elbow, allowing to fall completely off her shoulders. Anaiya's flowing blonde hair falling down her back like water, some of it tied back with a dainty lilac ribbon. She was the pinnacle of innocent-or she looked as though she was.
"Why are we so dressed up to go to a damned office?" I bitched aloud even though on the inside I was in love with the outfit.
We were walking towards the elevator to leave, the butler who's name I now knew was Hatori, wishing us a good day and holding two pairs of rimless aviator sunglasses-one an Ombre purple color and the other a blood red.
"To take Ran and Rin to lunch." She smiled brightly as she entered the mirror box.
The absolute wealth of the Haitani's dripped off my cousin like diamonds. The heads that turned to watch her walk to the car, the poise she had. She was nothing like the clumsy idiot I left here in Tokyo ten years ago.
"Is that a fucking Lexus?" I gawked in awe.
Nodding happily Anaiya said, "I know right? Crazy this is just the car they use to chauffeur us around." She said so naturally it was almost like she found the sleek luxury car boring.
I nearly chocked on her posch-ness.

When we rolled up to the Bonten Headquarters the car was met with four large bodyguard looking men who opened our doors for us, and helped us out. I felt like royalty as we strutted through the main lobby where all form of work had stopped and everyone watched in awe and respect as we were escorted to an elevator. All four guards blocked the elevator as we entered and the doors began to close. I was so shocked Anaiya nearly had to pick my jaw off the ground.
As soon as the doors opens Anaiya nearly skipped her way to Ran who was manspreading on the couch facing the balcony. A large smile stretched across his face as he saw her, kissing her as soon as she planted herself in his lap.
"The fuck is she doing here?" Rindou snapped, looking me up and down.
Raising a brow and cocking a hip to the side I snorted. "See something you like, Barney?"
"Barney?" He furrowed his brows.
Sanzu cackled from his spot on the other end of the couch. "I think she just called you a big purple dinosaur!"
"Fuck you." Rindou snapped venomously.
Lazily rolling my eyes and boredly said, "You wish, Jellyfish."
"Rin, you know she could kick your ass." Anaiya came up from Ran's long enough to say.
"In her dreams!" He hollered in a defensive tone. "She could never take me."
With an amused smirk pulling at my burgundy painted lips, I strutted towards him. Bending and stretching across the couch's back like lazy jaguar, I got as close to Rindou's scowling face as possible, looking at his lips and then his eyes seductively. I waited until I saw his Adam's apple bob anxiously before I said in a low seductive tone, "I already have."
His face turned bright red in anger and his glare deepened. I winked and stood up and walked around to plop down next to Sanzu. Crossing my leg over my knee I looked around me. Rindou was visibly pissed and stammering over his own words, Ran and Iya were shamelessly making out in front of everyone, and Sanzu was cackling loud enough to carry over the giant penthouse.
"I thought we were supposed to be going to lunch or something." I stated in boredom. I was hungry, and anything sounded better than hanging out in Mikey's lair.
Jerking up from Ran's face Anaiya said with a heavy breathing, "We are!"
"Then can we go?" I inquired with an arched brow.
Ran looked at me, eyeing the tenseness in my shoulders or the twitch of my pinky of the hand that I had draped along my knee. He kissed Anaiya's shoulder before saying, "Mikey's out. He shouldn't be here for what? Another hour?"
Rindou shrugged his shoulders, obviously still pouting in his far corner of the couch. Sanzu nodded, but also shrugged unsure if the answer being a definite or iffy yes.
"Is he supposed to be going with us?" I fought against the venom building on my tongue. This was Mikey's inner circle. Showing blatant hatred for the man probably wasn't the best idea.
Shaking her head, Anaiya made sure to look me in the eyes. "No."
Nodding my head in a way that dripped with disbelief, I looked to the balcony. I didn't want to see Mikey, and I would really have liked it if we would just leave for this lunch I was woken up for. But no one made a move to leave.
"Not to be a bitch, but can we go please?" I asked, looking to Ran and Anaiya.
Rindou cut his eyes to me before smarmily saying, "What? You afraid of something?"
"I'm not afraid of anything." I shot back, the venom dripping off my tongue a little. "I just don't care to be near certain people. So, before they get here, I would like to leave."
"Don't want to see me, Kira?" I seethed at that voice.
Mikey stood in front of the elevator.
I clenched my jaw.
"Manjiro." I gritted out.
Those empty, hollow eyes bore into me, his emotionless face never changing as we stared at each other. He was thin. Way too thin to be healthy, his big black sweater hanging off him like a potato sack. His eyes were ringed with dark circles and his skin was far paler than natural. That short cut white hair didn't help with his sickly complexion either.
"You look like shit." I scoffed, standing up from the couch.
His face didn't change. "You're still rude."
Laughing aloud, I tilted my head back. "That coming from you? Come on now, Mikey, I'm not the one letting those pesky little impulses rule my life." The grin on my face was not one of taunting or friendly teasing. It was full of malice and anger for this one person.
We had slowly shifted closer to one another. Ran had shifted Anaiya off his lap and next to him where he shielded her with his body. As Mikey got closer to me everyone went as still as could be, not a muscle moved. The tension could have been cut with a dull knife. I felt my body vibrate with hatred.
His eyes shifted up and down my body before he said flatly, "Baji would have love to see you like that."
I felt like my body lit on fire.
"Emma would have hated to see you like that." I spat back wickedly.
There was a moment where it was like time stopped. The air itself went stale and rigid. Then that moment snapped. Mikey's foot swung up to connect with my head, but I dropped and swung my foot low to knock his balance off. He nearly hit the ground before he just barely caught his footing and went it for another kick. Smirking I blocked it before pushing it away and swinging my fist out to connect with his jaw. He caught my arm, pulling it to break it. I grabbed his arm holding mine and turned to pull him over my shoulder to connect with the coffee table. Before he could get back up I lifted my heel to his throat, which had Sanzu standing quickly.
I grabbed the gun I knew was tucked into Mikey's waistband quickly and held it up to Sanzu. "Sit your ass back down before I decide to stomp my fucking foot down!" I snapped at the cotton candy drug addict who glared at me, but did as I said. Looking back to Mikey I grinned wide, flashing my teeth. "Come on, Mikey. It's been a while, but damn. You relying on this gun little too much?" I waved the weapon in my hand and in his face.
He still didn't look mad or hateful or even scared. He just looked dead. Like he didn't feel anything at all.
"I suggest you remember quickly who I am." I growled in his face. "I'm back, and I'm not going anywhere. You keep your fucking hands off Anaiya and all of Toman or else we'll finish this little feud once and for all." I ejected the clip and emptied the chamber before I lifted my heel from his throat and backed up, letting him up.
He just got up and looked dead at me.
I threw the emptied gun at him and glared harshly. He didn't even looked bothered by anything. My presence had to annoy him, but he didn't show it. He was a empty void of emotion and expression.
There was a pregnant pause in the air, Anaiya anxiously looking between the two of us. Ran was tense behind me, Iya hidden nearly completely behind him, and I made sure to stand in front of both of them to shield them in case Mikey decided to act.
"Join Bonten." Fell from Mikey's lips and I could have sworn I heard bombs go off.
We all gawked at him. He didn't say what we all thought he said. He couldn't have. I just attacked him. Nearly deciding to kill him.
"Excuse me?" I coughed out in amazement. "Hell no!" I snapped.
He wasn't bothered. He just said, "Join Bonten, and I won't touch them."
I thought my heart dropped to my stomach and my throat closed up. He was blackmailing me. Giving me an offer I can't walk away from. For the safety of my friends and the lives they worked so hard to have, he was threatening to ruin all that.
"Mikey," Anaiya gasped.
"Shh!" Ran snapped at her quietly, afraid now Mikey would use her.
Mikey didn't bother to look away from me. "Become one of my executives and I won't hurt any of them. They'll all be safe and off limits to all my men. Every single member and all they care about." He wasn't even menacing while threatening me. Just iry and fucked off. "Especially that little pet shop Chifuyu has worked so hard to open in Baji's memory. The one Kazutora now works at, right?"
How did he know that? Tora just started working there today. There was no way for Mikey to know that.
I hated to admit it, but Mikey had me backed into a corner. He was threatening me with things I wouldn't risk. I will always choose the lives of my loved ones than choose to keep my life simple. I couldn't live with myself if just one more of them died. Even Chifuyu.
"Fine."

My lovable gremlin boy 🥰
Rindou, why can't you look at me the same way you look at people when you're about to break their bones?
