Is that so much more important than me?

☆Hello so this is my first post! I hope you like it! I tried hard but please do advice me on improvement. And do tell me if you would like a part two with a happy ending!☆

Topic- You ask Satan's priority and he doesn't answer

"(MC) let's go." Satan called out to you from the front door of House of Lamination. Today was an official holiday from RAD and you two decided to hit the library. After reaching the Royal Library Satan sat there reading his books as usual. You sat in front of him and marveled at his handsome face. You saw him get up and go behind a bookshelf. Curious you followed him. He was looking at the section which contained books on curses. Ah...that again. You liked how much fun he had while playing pranks on lucifer(which you don't remember ever succeeded) but to be honest, you were getting tired of it. Lucifer this, Lucifer that. You get that he wants to prove his own existence and bring Lucifer down but he did it way more than necessary. Afterall Lucifer was his own brother who loved him. But that's not where the problem was. The main thing was that Satan pays lot more attention on the pranks he wants to play on Lucifer than on you. Yeah you and Belphegor did help him time to time but he was on and on about it whole day. So, you decided to confront him. "Hey Satan, searching for another prank to play on Lucifer?" "Hmm? Oh (MC). Yeah you are right. This book here has some nice ideas to trick demons." He said without looking up from the book. You pout slightly and stand beside him peering the book in his hand. " Hey...if you had to choose between me and bringing Lucifer down...what would it be?" You felt weird even asking that. Ofcourse he would choose you that was a stupid ques- . Your thoughts stopped in your mind...why? Why was he looking at you uneasily? Why wasn't he answering? "...Satan?"

"C'mon (MC). Stop with the nonsense okay? I got the book I wanted. Let's go home." With that he started walking out of the Library. You followed him quietly, feeling insecure.

You guys didn't talk much after that because of all other brothers wanting your attention. After a few days Satan called you to his room.

*Knock*

"Come in if it's you (MC)."

Inside he sat on the couch with the same prank book in his hand and a smirk on his face.

"What's up Satan?"

"I just found this really cool prank! We can totally check it out tod-"

"What about our rooftop date?" You said cutting him off.

"Oh (MC), we can do it some other time. We have a lot of time for us anyway. But today is a rare opportunity for this prank since Lucifer would be coming home late because of his work at the Demon Lord's castle and on top of that he forgot to guard his room!"

He went on about how you two would break into his room and steal his cassette and replace it and whatever else he was saying but your mind was elsewhere. You can only think about how he cast aside your date for a stupid prank. You were feeling angry and hurt.

"Is that really necessary?" You said, your tone changing to stern.

"What do you mean (MC)?"

"Is it so necessary to prank Lucifer and humiliate him that you even canceled our date?!" You couldn't help your rising voice. You could see the frown forming on Satan's face.

"It's just a simple date (MC), it's not even some special day. If you want it that much then fine! We can just go to the rooftop after my job is done!" His tone was now slight anger.

"Why ?! What's the use of doing those pranks huh?!! Not like you ever succeed."

He looked at you with bloodshot eyes.

" (MC) You won't understand what it is like!! You won't understand what I have to go through just because of him- "

You knew you were pulling at the wrong strings and yet you couldn't stop yourself.

"Stop blaming Lucifer for everything just because you are insecure about yourself and can't accept the fact that he was there before you."

You were shocked at your own words. You never meant to say them neither you meant them but they have already left your mouth in a fit of anger.

"Satan I am s-"

"You asked what I would choose right?"

He said in deep disgusted voice. His back towards you so he couldn't see your face and neither could you see his.

"I would choose bringing Lucifer down any day. Who even are you? A mere human. I have been doing this long since before you even stepped into Devildom. What makes you think I would change for YOU? I don't care about your stupid dates anymore! They are useless! If you really wanted to show me your love you should've been ready to die trying to help me do the things I want. Now get out!"

"Satan I-"

"GET OUT!"

You walked out of his room's door. Before closing it behind you, you quietly said-

"Alright. I will make it happen. If bringing him down is so important to you I have the perfect plan for it. There's no way he wouldn't be a mess and on his knees if that happens. Good night. "

He heard you and thought that you have finally given up on your stupid ideals and decided to team up with him. He felt bad about shouting at you already. He knew you didn't mean what you said and neither did he. He wanted to apologize but he saved it for later. Only if he could've seen the silent tears that rolled down your cheeks and and mocking smile you had on your lips at that moment maybe he...just maybe.

He put off the prank for some other day due to the tension that just occurred and went to sleep.

Next morning he felt uneasy. He brushed off the feeling and went to the main hall. He was shocked to see what you said came true.

There was Lucifer, on his knees and a mess just as you said. He was even...crying? Wow you had quite the talent for this huh? But it wasn't just Lucifer that was crying. All his brothers, The Purgatory Hall guys , Barbatos and evenord Diavalo himself were there and all crying. They were gathered there. Satan quickly descended down the stairs to take a look at the object of attention.

...

......?

............?!

Satan's mind went blank. It was YOU! Your dead body to be more precise. What happened to you?! You were alright till yesterday night? What just happened in a few hours ?!

"It looks like (MC) was poisoned. As for if it was suicide or murder...I would have to check, though I hope it's the later"

Barabtos said composing himself

Poisoned? Who would dare to poison you? Unless...

He remembered his words from last night

["die trying to help me"]

Then he remembered your words

["I will make it happen"]

It was like his world was spinning. He was smart enough to put the dots together. You poisoned yourself to make a mess out of Lucifer because HE said so!

And yeah Lucifer was a mess now. Of course he would be! Afterall everyone loved you! May it be romantically or platonically. But now its not just Lucifer who is down. He himself is such a mess. He can't thing straight. He wants to go crazy form anger right this moment but he controls.

He controls, and stares at your lifeless face remembering his harsh words to you if only he could get a 2nd chance. If only he could go on the date with you and just embrace you without thinking about anything else, if only he could answeryou truthfullythat you were more importantthan anything else in the world...but it is not possible now is it? So he wails. He cries his eyes out along with his brother drowning himself in regret, sorrow and self hate.
