I don’t usually share super personal stuff online, but I feel the need to be more open about some of my experiences and how they’ve shaped my perspective and my artwork! 🌟 I’m celebrating 1,000 days sober today and 3 years ago I never even imagined that this is where I would be today. I was never dependent on substances- like I could go days without them - so I never realized that I had a problem with them, I mainly used things socially! Completely acceptable right?? Well it took me a long time to accept the fact that they weren’t good for my mental health, the days I lost to hangovers were destroying my ability to function, and I just felt like crap most of the time. 🌟 The isolation that came with the pandemic gave me space to reflect on my lifestyle and the space to step away from the things that were no longer good for me 🌟 I’m grateful now for that solo time, access to therapy and a newfound support system.

Becoming sober and healing my mind has brought up a lot of suppressed emotions and things I hadn’t felt since I was a kid. In the past two years this has really informed the kind of work I want to make. I’m healing my inner child with colorful illustrations of cute animals and I want to share that joy with all of you!! I have a renewed vision to focus more on mental health with my artwork. I was drowning and simply surviving without a mental health support system for over a decade of my life. I hope that my art can bring light into someone’s life, inspire people to take steps towards improving their own mental well-being or stir a little smile or giggle 💗
