How to Travel Solo in South Africa?
I visited South Africa for the first time in 2018 traveling from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth (along the Garden Route). I was travelling with friends back then, and I loved the country – its nature, landscape, wine, outdoors activities and the laid back locals. I knew I had to come back and explore other areas as well. Well I did go back there, twice as a solo traveler. As soon as I booked my…

How to travel Solo?
What is Solo Travel? It’s definition is: solo travel means the tourist going somewhere else alone and during their trip, they choose and decide everything like activities, places to visit, services and so on. It means that you, aka the solo traveller, calls the shots. It’s complete freedom what to do and when. This is great and empowering, but it can be “scary” for someone who never tried it.…

Lofou Village in Cyprus
I passed via a village, near Limassol called Lofou. Its beautiful historic village with cobbled streets and nice photo spots. However, I couldn’t ignore the fact that all cats here are sick, and extremely skinny. Most people don’t bother, there is no even a single water bowl anywhere (although plenty of dining people at the tavernas). The shops didn’t sell cat food either. Unfortunately when I…

My solo trip to Namibia: Etosha National Park (part 5)
We were driving towards Etosha, few more hours of “African massage” . At this point, I was already used to the bumpy rides. It was less bumpy in the front seats compared to the back 😀 We made a stop at a small town super market to get water, snacks, drinks before Etosha. I liked Namibian super markets – at least the ones we visited were big, with plenty of choice. We saw quite few SPARs and…

My solo trip to Namibia: Spitzkoppe
After few hours drive, we arrived at the next stop for the night – the camp site at Spitzkoppe. As soon as we set up our tents, we went on a short sunset hike to the rock formations. It included 100m chain section, going up the rock. The section is not difficult, the rock is not slippery (wear hiking boots though) and the incline is not too steep. It takes several minutes to go up, and then enjoy…

My solo trip to Namibia: Swakopmund
It was amazing experience to visit Deadvlei, but eventually it was time to move on. After an hour drive we stopped at a remote settlement, at the edge of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, called Solitaire. I read it was founded in 1949, a welcoming stop with gas station, bakery and some wifi. It’s seeing civilisation signs in the middle of nowhere. At the entry, you see the sign Solitaire, and…

My trip to Namibia: Deadvlei
Early wake up at 5 am, still dark outside. Clear sky and many stars, this is the perk of getting up before sunrise in Namibia. It’s cold in the morning, we are having coffee and breakfast before heading to Deadvlei. It is half an hour drive from the camp, we are leaving whilst still dark. The goal is to greet the sunrise from the dunes. Once at the Deadvlei park entry, we start our walk. Samora,…

My trip to Namibia: hiking, dunes and safari (part 1)
Few years ago I watched a documentary on Netflix “Tales by Light”, and one of the episodes featured Namibia. The dessert landscape, the vast empty space made me wanna visit. That day I decided I will travel to this country, I wanted to explore more of Africa anyway. And so in September this year, I finally travelled to Namibia. There were no direct flights to Windhoek (capital of Namibia) from…

5 days in Northern Ireland, UK - from Belfast to Derry/Londonderry
I was curious to visit Belfast as it is one of the UK’s capitals whilst it is also on the island of Ireland. Plus, there is so much history from early middle-ages to the Troubles. I imagined it to be industrial looking, maybe neglected or run down, and I was wrong. Belfast is more dynamic, well maintained and definitely interesting city. There are many tourists from the US (probably because of…
