It’s been a while, so I'm revamping my about me! Hi, my name is Ree, and my pronouns are he/they/she (mix em up, have fun). I'm a writer and artist, and I also read and crochet.
My official pen name is Ray Lane, and I have my first novella out on Gumroad. More info here. I'm almost ready for beta readers of my first full-length novel, so keep an eye out!
I've been writing since I was a kid, with varying degrees of success, but I've been able to get more and more progress with my current projects. While I love reading horror and fantasy, I tend to write lighter and softer fantasy and comedy.
I love learning about biology and zoology, and have tons of fun animal facts. I also have a cat named Daisy, who I take on walks.

Aka, Graveyard Lesbians.
Kaz Pine is a skeptic. She’s spent the last three years working in a historical graveyard, and never saw a single ghost. Still hurting from her recent breakup with a believer, Kaz decides to sabotage a high-profile ghost hunt, where she meets and recruits the enigmatic Lucy to join in on the prank. But when Kaz’s co-worker (her cat. His name is Renfield. She’ll show you pictures later.) disrupts a seance, things around town start getting a little … spooky.
GENRE: Romcom, campy horror.

I have a new OC! Her name is Plumeria Wyndhelm, Plum or Pluma for short, and she's a mechanic in a fantasy/steampunk world. I've got her silhouette down, but I'm still trying to work out what decade her clothing should be inspired by -- 1930s, 1880s, or 1780s.

Though she comes from a high class family, her true love is machinery and travel, and left home to work on a merchant airship. Her parents aren't happy about it, especially since she comes from a family of air elementals, but she's stubborn and always does what she wants. She's optimistic and chatty, a little weird, and doesn't always notice/care about unspoken social cues.
She spends most of her life in underwear because the engine room is disgustingly hot, and puts up a fight whenever she has to wear real clothes, but it's because she always forgets how much she loves it once they're on.
I haven't decided what happened to her arm yet, but she's got a brass-gilt prosthetic with enamel inlay that looks like the sky, and it's been magicked to work like a real arm. She still suffers from phantom limb syndrome and pain, but refuses to acknowledge it if it keeps her from doing what she wants.

I've only had Felix a day and a half etc etc
Felix was just relieved to have peace. I'd called him too many times in tears, ranting over my latest argument with Josie, and he'd smacked sense in me time and time again because, admittedly, I was at fault more often than not. He was barely taller than myself, but accentuated it with heavy combat boots and his patchy beard, finally growing in after four months of HRT. Sasha and I pretended it didn't look terrible.
