My "Mad Clown Sun," 2019. Watercolor and gouache on paper, image size 3 x 3 inches. For the ThinkSmall10 Biennial at Artspace in Richmond, VA, opening Nov. 7. I decided not to do the companion moon to this sun that I'd posted a sketch for a while back.

Very pleased to announce a new exhibition that I'm a part of, at the Staten Island Museum: "Field Notes: Seed Stories and the Power of Plants." It features artworks and seed histories from Hudson Valley Seed Co., including my painting "Lady of the Rainbow Chard"  (see photo); documentary videos of Staten Island gardeners by Jay Weichun; photograms of local flora by Gale Wisdom; and museum botanical specimens selected by the Greenbelt Native Plant Center. ~~"These four projects explore the cultural, artistic, and scientific impact of collecting plant life. In doing so, they reveal narratives of resilience, fragility, and transformation. Field Notes speaks to the heritage embedded in the flora around us." -- from the Museum. Opening Reception: Saturday, April 13, 12pm - 2pm.

I’m delighted that my story “Flora’s Lexicon” is included in this new anthology from Egaeus Press:
“THE BOOK OF FLOWERING is now available to order.
"A remarkable collection of eighteen new and previously unpublished weird fictions, exploring, in their various ways, the concepts of fatal beauty and impermanence.
"Decadent, wondrous, sometimes disquieting, this 280 page, lithographically printed sewn hardback is limited to just 350 copies, featuring colour endpapers by Toru Kamei.
"It can be ordered now for £36.00, inclusive of postage worldwide. See www.egaeuspress.com/The_Book_of_Flowering.html for more details.
"Edited by Mark Beech, the full contents are as follows…
"Mark Valentine - The Pale Sentinels Of Asphodel Tiffani Angus - What Cannot Be Described Sheryl Humphrey - Flora’s Lexicon Timothy J. Jarvis - With Scourges, With Flowering Sprigs Ron Weighell - Fugues of The Blue Lilly John Gale - A Garden of Sorrow and Sorcery Reggie Oliver - Lady With A Rose D. P.
