Being in this beautiful villa in The Philippines had been a great experience but the pressure was on since the females and males would soon have to separate from their established love partner and be tested.
Laiyah sighed as she laid in the arms of Banks.
Banks gently rubbed her thick curly locs out of her face. “What’s on your mind, mama?”
Laiyah looked up at him. “You’re not nervous?”
“About?” He asked as he rose an eyebrow.
“In a couple of days we’ll have to separate and you’ll have a new set of women to choose from.”
Banks chuckled a little.
Laiyah slapped his chest. “Be serious, Banks!”
“I am, I just don’t understand why you even care about this.”
“Because I could come back to this house and you’ve fallen for another bitch!” Laiyah sat up from him. Tears were welling in her eyes.
Banks sat up as well. “Your lack of faith in me is really starting to get irritating.”
Laiyah flashed him an evil stare. “Irritating? So you’re not worried that I’ll fall for someone else?”
“We’ll be apart for 6 days, Laiyah so no I’m not worried plus I actually have faith in what you feel for me. But in the small chance that you choose to see someone else. . .well it is what it is. I can’t change it.” Banks rubbed his hands together. This was something he always did when he was overwhelmed.
Laiyah hurriedly wiped the tear that had escaped. “It is what it is? Really, Banks?” She was flabbergasted by his response to this situation.
“What do you want me to say? I have established that I’m here for you. I’ve gained more than I could ever be worthy of with you but you just don’t get it. You’re trying to pick a fight and I’m not doing this with you!”
“Me? I’m picking a fight? You’re acting like this isn’t a big deal, Banks! So who’s the one inciting a fight?” Laiyah countered.
Banks chuckled once more as he stood from the bed. “Still you!”, and with that last word he left out to get himself some air.

Jules threw back another shot. He had been sitting at the bar by the pool for a while. He watched the other paired couples playing as if a storm wasn’t about to flood their lives. So many thoughts were rushing through his mind and too many potential decisions were occupying his mental capacity.
Suddenly he felt a warm embrace from behind captivate him as lips and a quick sniff laced his cheek.
“Papii, why are you downing drinks without me?” Skyy asked as she beckoned for the in-house bartender to fix her a mixed drink.
Jules nuzzled the side of his face into her shoulder. “Where have you been?” He asked softly.
Skyy caressed his cheek. “Flirting with other guys.” She said with a giggle.
Jules immediately raised up and gave her an eerie look. “Don’t play like that.” He pouted.
“I’m sorry, I was just kidding. Really, I’ve just been reading a novel, trying to take my mind off of this separation that’s about to happen.” She admitted as she took a sip from her blue drink. She winced at how strong it was.
Jules nodded as he tapped on his glass. Whatever was in his glass must’ve been strong if her mixed drink even was. “I don’t know how to approach this situation, baby.”
Skyy smiled. “There is no doubt that we have feelings for one another but who knows what this experiment is going to bring.”
Jules looked over at her with a partially calm expression. “Promise me that you won’t hold back.”
“Hold back? What do you mean?”
Jules sighed and took a sip of his brown whisky. “If you meet someone that feels more right for you than me, don’t hold back.”
Skyy giggled. “Who would ever feel more right for me than you?”
Jules pulled her into his side. “I just want you to be happy even if-“
Skyy covered his lips with her finger. “Don’t finish that.” She reveled in his embrace for a moment and gathered her thoughts together. “But since I have to follow this order, so do you. Don’t hold back either.”

Two days had passed quickly and all of the established couples were saddened by the burden of having to say their goodbyes for nearly a week.
Jules held both of Skyy’s hands as he stared deeply into her eyes.
Skyy looked away for a moment as tears begged to be released.
“Look at me please.” Jules spoke just above a whisper. “Remember what I told you?”
Skyy nodded as she sniffled. The tears were running profusely down her face. “Remember what I told you too?”
Jules forcibly pulled her into a tight hug as he nodded in the crevice of her shoulder. “I’m gonna miss you, Skyy.” He tried to force a smile as a tear graced his cheek.
“Me too. It’s just 6 days, right?” She could barely speak.
Jules nodded as he wiped her tears from her face. “6 days. Now go before I get the urge to run away with you.” He chuckled as he wiped his own face.
She walked towards the exit of the villa but looked back at the man who she hoped would be awaiting her return.
Laiyah stood in a corner, overwhelmed by emotions. She and Banks hadn’t talked much since their small argument. She was shocked that he had even slept in the bed with her, but she was relieved, nonetheless.
Banks wiped her tears and pulled her into his embrace. “Stop, mama. I’m here. It’s just an experiment.”
Laiyah shook her head. “I’m scared.” She admitted.
“Of your feelings or mine?” He asked seriously as he held her face.
“I don’t know. I just don’t want to do this with anyone else but you.”
Banks sighed loudly. “It’s an experience, just consider it as nothing more than that, okay? In a week we’ll be standing right here all over again.”
Laiyah rubbed her nose. “Together, right?”
Banks pulled her into another hug and kissed the top of her head. “You gotta go, mama.”
She stared at him for a moment and then finally worked up enough courage to leave the villa as she heard Skyy call after her.

The remaining guys all sat in a spot on the couches that were in the living room as the game host came in to share with them the rules of the experiment.
“As you know you will be separated from your already established partner, during this time we will bring in new prospects and in these days to come you will have multiple couple building games and activities that you have to participate in, this is not optional. The only optional thing is that if you choose to not sleep with another prospect, we have tents outside that you can choose to sleep in. Ready to meet the new prospects?” The host asked with a huge smile.
Jules and Banks looked at one another with a peculiar expression. Neither of them were truly ready for this. The unknown scared the hell out of them. What if they’d fall for someone new? What if the cards they’ve been dealt is to place pain in Skyy or Laiyah lives? They were terrified that the girls may even find someone better than them.
“So we can’t just sleep on the couch if we don’t want to sleep in a bed with a different partner?” Ricardo, a contestant from Spain asked.
The game show host shook his head.
“I’m ready! Beautiful women is my love language. Why you looking so sad?” Allen, a contestant from the States asked.
A few minutes later a line of women came walking in. Every guy in the room was appalled and in shock.
“Vivian?!” Jules shouted in disbelief.
Vivian winked at him.
“As you can see, these are all of your exes. You have been placed with your exes specifically for the couple building games and activities but while in the house during free time, you can connect with any of these exes not just your own. You can even choose to continue this love experiment with whomever you want to on Sunday during the decision ceremony.” The host revealed.
Banks chuckled as he stared at his ex, Mai. “So I assume that our partners are being greeted by their exes as well, right?
The host smirked. “Does that scare you?”
Banks gave him a stare that could kill. “I’m confident.” He partially lied.
“Let the games begin then!” The host said and left the house.

Skyy stormed outside in the middle of their host explaining the rules as she saw her ex standing only feet away from her staring. Sure they hadn’t ended on bad terms but the fact that she thought both of them had moved on. He even had a child and what she thought was a wife.
Laiyah excused herself to find Skyy.
“Hey, breathe. It’s going to be fine!” Laiyah told her as she held her shoulders.
Skyy began to shake. “Why the hell are they doing this to us? I haven’t seen Travis in years so what’s the point of this?”
Laiyah shrugged. “They’re testing how strong our feelings are. Silly us to be scared over random girls but now we have to compete with females they have history with.” Tears streamed down her face.
“I can’t even avoid this because I promised Jules that I wouldn’t hold back, and so did he. Why couldn’t they have brought one of my douche exes?” Skyy plopped down on the beach furniture by the pool.
“Excuse me, Laiyah, can we talk?” A tall, dark skinned man asked.
Laiyah took a deep breath. “I don’t really have a choice do I, Dante?” She walked to a different area with her ex.
Skyy stared into space as she thought about all the things that Jules could/would be doing with his ex right now. They had once had a conversation about an ex whom he was still in contact with from time to time because they were close friends before they dated. This fact made her even more insecure about their relationship. Could two months on a dating experiment really compare to a real-life ex whom he was even best friends with at some point?
“Boo!” Travis snuck up on Skyy and sat beside her. “Shocked to see me here, right?”
Skyy simply nodded.
“I guess I should explain?”
“Seems like it.” She responded as she continued staring out at the palm trees in the distance.
Travis sighed. “I know it’s been years since we had an actual conversation but when this opportunity rang, I figured what’s the most I could lose? I’m single again and we had an amazing journey together when we dated so why not see if anything is there anymore.”
Skyy shook her head. “It’s been years, Travis. We are adults now. I’m sure we have changed in so many ways that how could we ever go back to that?”
Travis nodded. “We don’t have to go back to that. We can start over fresh and if there’s a spark then we go for it and if not we just let it fizzle. I just want you to try.”
“I don’t have a choice but to try because I promised Jules that I wouldn’t hold back. I guess you can count him as your genie.”
“Dante, why are you here? This just confuses me in a way that I don’t need to be.” Laiyah revealed.
Dante smiled. “I miss the kid. We had good times and I know we ended from some bullshit but I’m different now. I’ve grown a lot and I realize you’re the best woman I’ve ever encountered.”
Laiyah’s eyes welled up with tears. “Why couldn’t you figure this out a long time ago? You know anything you need I’ll always have your back-“
“Exactly, which is why I’m here now! This is our chance at another shot. I want to make it up to you.”
Laiyah smiled at him as she caressed his face. “But not like this. I’ve moved on from that pain. I’ve grown from that person I used to be and-“
“You’ve been here for what. . .two months? That can’t compare to our years.”
Laiyah threw her hand up. “Don’t interrupt me!” She stood and smoothed her sundress down. “Two months with someone like Banks can compare because he’s never made me feel anything but security, love and care.”
At this moment it dawned on her that she had questioned Banks loyalty for nothing. He had never flirted with any of the other women in the house. During the first week he had pegged her as his and had never changed up on her but now he might change because of their little fight. Her thoughts swirled in her head: what if he can’t deal with someone who doesn’t trust him? What if she had picked one too many fights the other day? Her confidence in him slowly started to decrease but it was her own fault for not having faith in what they shared anyway.
Laiyah waved to him a goodbye and walked away from Dante and headed to the bed they were supposed to share. She couldn’t imagine sleeping in a bed with someone other than Banks and that made her sad but she had no choice because she wasn’t about to sleep with the mosquitoes.
Skyy was sharing a room with Laiyah and she flopped on her assigned bed. “Any feelings come back?”
Laiyah turned over to look at Skyy. “I’ll always have love for Dante because he was with me during a really important time in my life but I can assure you that I’ll be heading back to the main villa by myself.”
Skyy smiled. “I love your confidence.”
“I don’t have it. That’s why Banks and I had an altercation before we left.” Laiyah revealed.
“Anyone would be insecure in a situation like this. Don’t beat yourself up.”
Laiyah nodded. “What about you?”
Skyy giggled. “I’m trying. I’m scared that Jules is trying with his ex too but a promise is a promise and if we’re meant to be then we’ll be. If not then it is what it is I guess.”
Laiyah cringed. “It is what it is? I’m so tired of that line. Banks used it on me during our scat and it pissed me off. There’s nothing wrong with fighting for what you love.”
“There’s not but at the end of the day I could walk into that Villa and he’s chosen his ex. Me and Jules dynamic is different from yours and Banks. Banks assured you that he would always choose you. I don’t have that luxury. I got burdened with ‘If you find someone who you like more than me then don’t hold back’ , so I burdened him with the same task and now knowing that it’s exes involved, I’m not that sure if what we have is enough to make him choose me in the end.”
A knock sounded on the door.
The girls looked up to see Dante and Travis. “Can we come in? We have a early start in the morning.” Travis spoke.
Skyy nodded and patted the other side of the bed.
Travis grabbed a blanket from the closet and laid on top of the comforter that Skyy was already under. “I don’t want to invade your space and privacy.” He assured her.
She nodded with her back to him. She couldn’t take her mind off of Jules. Every moment they’d ever had flashed in her mind like a movie ending with the moment he made her promise to not hold back. Tears filled her eyes as the thought of these being the last memories she would ever share with him suffocated her.
Travis knew she was emotional so he wrapped his arm around her to console her. “It’ll be okay, Skyy. No matter what happens, everything will go well for you.” He whispered
She found solace in his words. Sure she’d rather have been in Jules embrace but Travis was a good substitute.
Dante stood at the side of the bed waiting for Laiyah to invite him in.
Laiyah turned over and raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing?” She was irritated just by his presence at this point.
“I’m waiting. . .” he smirked.
“On what? An invitation? Boy bye, either you sleep or don’t. I really don’t care.”
Dante sighed and climbed in the bed. He laid on his back staring at the ceiling with his arms behind his head. “I’m just trying, Laiyah.”
“And I’m not in a place where I can accept it. Thank you for finally understanding just how great I am but it’s too little too late.”
Dante simply nodded and stared at her back to him.

Banks sat on the side of his bed as he contemplated what he should do. He really didn’t even want to be there any longer. Throwing in the exes was a hard blow. This particular ex had cheated on him during his third year of University.
Mai walked in and kneeled in front of him. “Banks, we should talk.”
Banks hands were clasped together as he looked down at her sitting on the floor. He simply nodded.
“I know I’m the last person you want to see but you do deserve an explanation.” She softly said.
Banks sighed. “What could possibly excuse you from cheating?”
“Nothing Banks and I know that but my parents were pressuring me. Had I not started dating Tops, my dad would have took matters into his own hands. He’s a dangerous man, Banks. He would have went after you and I couldn’t allow that to happen.”
Banks looked up from their hands. “What do you mean by came after me?”
“He would have removed you from the picture forcibly by hurting you as a warning and if that didn’t work then he would have made it permanent.” Mai begun to cry.
Banks scratched his head. He was in total shock. “So why are you here now? If he finds out you came here for me I’ll be the one who suffers. That’s selfish, Mai!”
Mai shook her head. “He got really sick last year and passed. We don’t have to worry about him anymore.”
Banks pulled his hands from her gently. “I understand what you went through was tough but stringing me along was still unjustifiable.”
“I couldn’t let you go, Banks! I tried to, but a life without you seemed unlivable.”
Banks chuckled. “So had you not got caught you would have just kept me in the dark and still dated both of us?”
Mai shrugged. “I don’t know. All I knew was that you were the most important person in my life, and I wasn’t willing to lose you. If that makes me selfish then so be it.”
Banks stood from the bed and helped her off the floor. “You should get some sleep.” He left out of the room and headed outside to a vacant tent.
Vivian pulled Jules to the Amour room where the magic usually happened.
Jules felt highly uncomfortable being in this room with her. He hadn’t even visited this room with Skyy as of yet and really didn’t plan to.
“Why are we here?” He asked as he sat on the fresh bed beside her.
Vivian smirked. “Why do you seem nervous? We’ve known each other for what 10 years now, right?”
Jules nodded as he looked around the room. He noticed a glass bowl of condoms on the nightstand. His heart began to pound in his chest.
“Pipe down you animal. I’m just trying to talk to you.”
“What? No! I was just observing.” He gulped loudly.
Vivian giggled. “So how are things here?”
“Good. Really good.” He stated plainly.
“Have you found love yet?” She urged as she grabbed his hand and caressed it softly.
Jules felt a lump in his throat. He and Skyy hadn’t used the ‘love’ word yet and he really didn’t know how to put into words the description of their relationship. “I’ve found someone who understands me and I understand her. I’m enjoying my time with her.”
“So you’ve found understanding? Isn’t the experiment to find love?” Vivian giggled as she brought his hand to her bare thigh. She was wearing a short skirt.
He moved his hand back to the bed. “Why are you here? We’re friends, it’s been a long time since we’ve had romantic feelings for each other.”
“Maybe for you but not me. I never stopped loving you. I only went along with what you wanted.”
Jules chuckled. “You barely noticed me when I was with you like that. You made me feel guilty for working hard to make my dream come true. I’ll admit that I wasn’t the best boyfriend but I definitely treated you better than you ever treated me.”
She rose off the bed and nudged his legs apart so she could stand between them. “Well allow me to treat you well now.” She pushed his back to the bed and climbed on top of him. “I’ll make sure you get love out of this experiment instead of a measly understanding.”
Jules froze as her face moved closer and closer to his. His thoughts flashed to what Skyy could have been doing with her ex as Vivian’s lips connected with his. For a split moment he had lost his clarity but he was coming to grips with the fact that having someone else’s lips on his felt wrong unless it was Skyy’s. He immediately threw Vivian off of him and stood up.
“I can’t do this!” He rushed outside to find Banks tent unzipped.
Banks rose up off the sleeping bag. “Bro, you okay? You look paler than me!” He chuckled.
Jules was shaking. “Vivian kissed me.”
Banks sighed. He didn’t know how to calm him down. “It’s . . .okay, man.”
“No, it’s not. I should have never allowed her to take me to the Amour Room, Banks. I’m a terrible person. I’ve never cheated on anyone my entire life, why now?!” Jules was freaking out.
Banks patted his back. “Didn’t Skyy make you promise to at least give this experiment a try? So you did that and you hated it. Skyy will understand, okay?”
Jules blew out a breath of relief. “Right, she’s understanding. She won’t be mad, right?”
Banks shook his head. “Plus, you don’t even have to tell her. It was just a kiss. It was just a kiss, right? Not like a full on make out session, right?” Banks needed clarity.
“It lasted for like 2 seconds top. Just a peck and I felt nothing. She was on top of me though.”
“Whoa- okay dude just leave out that last part, it sounds terrible. Just say it was a peck if she asks. Matter of fact don’t even say where it happened, otherwise you risk being in deep shit!” Banks patted his head.
Jules simply nodded. “I think I’m in love with her, Banks but I don’t know how to say it. I don’t know if this experiment is real enough to expect something more when we leave this villa.”
“Sure we’re living an experiment out but that doesn’t make what y’all feel any less real than if y’all had met outside of it. Say what you feel before it’s too late and worry about the details later. Find a way to make it work if that’s what you want.” Banks gave him a partial smile.
“How’s Mai? Is she the one you mentioned had cheated?”
Banks nodded. “Yep but she just revealed why to me and part of me is confused now.”
“Why?” Jules interrogated a bit.
“Because it softens the blow in a way. I love Laiyah, and I’m not ashamed or scared to admit it. She knows that I adore her, she’s the best person I’ve ever met. Someone so pure doesn’t come around often but hearing Mai’s reasonings behind her actions makes me feel like if that had not been the cards we were dealt, we’d still be together and I would have never met Laiyah in the first place.” He sighed as he laid back down.
Jules stared at him for a moment. He could see the turmoil on his buddy’s face. “Follow your heart. Sometimes love gives us second chances to make things right and then there are times when the grass on the other side truly is greener.” He laid down to get himself some rest.

Decision Ceremony (Sunday)
The ladies dove into hair and makeup as they prepared for the decision ceremony that was only a couple of hours away.
Laiyah begun curling her hair. “You’ve seemed pretty cozy with Travis these few days.”
Skyy looked at her through the mirror as she placed her lashes on. “Decisions, decisions. Travis is a really sweet guy and has truly never hurt me so it’s easy to fall back into a safe space with him.”
Laiyah simply nodded. “Just make sure whatever decision you make, you won’t regret it.”
The host stood as he waited on the ladies to file in. Some had chosen to finish the experiment with their ex and some were seated alone, praying that their original partner would join them.
“So ladies, tonight is the night. How are we feeling?” One of the hosts asked as he scanned the ladies faces. Nervousness was apparent. “Amelia, I see you’re sitting alone. What are your hopes tonight?”
Amelia stood and walked up to where the host was standing. The Decision ceremony was beginning. “I hope that Allen comes out here alone. We promised one another that we would finish this experiment together.”
The host nodded. “And if he doesn’t, what’s going to happen?”
“I guess we’ll just have to see.” She smirked.
The lights dimmed as a spotlight shone on the spot that the men would walk out from.
“Allen, come on out!” The host spoke over the mic.
As Allen proceeded through the entrance, following behind him was another female.
Laiyah’s mouth dropped. This couple had been stuck under each other since the experiment began, so seeing Allen bring out another female really was shocking. “Jesus, this is hard to watch.” She said under her breath.
Skyy simply nodded as she watched the drama.
Amelia slapped Allen’s face. All of a sudden the other woman grabbed Amelia’s hair and a fight broke out.
“Bitch, don’t you ever touch my man again!” The woman yelled.
Amelia and the woman were going blow for blow until security separated them.
“Allen, you piece of shit! What was the point of making that promise?” Amelia screamed while still being held back by the security.
Allen shook his head. “I’m sorry, Amelia. I really had every intention on just having my fun this week and then coming back to you but plans changed when I saw my ex.”
Tears fell from Amelia’s face. “I hope she’s worth it. I hope she can stay faithful this time, I remember you telling me that she slept with four different guys during your relationship. I guess I wasn’t slutty enough for you!” Amelia left the area to pack her bags.
Allen and the ex were seated.
The area was silent. You could cut the tension with a knife.
“I guess we’re starting this night off with a bang! Skyy, are you ready?”
Skyy had zoned out. She was stuck in her thoughts.
Laiyah nudged her.
“Huh?” She looked to her.
“Skyy come on down!” The host beckoned for her.
Skyy’s eyes widened. Her heart began to pace quickly.
Laiyah squeezed her hand. “You got this. Everything is going to be fine!”
Skyy took a deep breath and headed down to where the host was.
Tumblr media
“I was almost certain that you might finish with your ex, you both seemed to be enjoying each other’s company, why?” The host asked her.
Skyy thought for a moment. “I truly did enjoy my time with Travis. I hadn’t seen him in years and it was refreshing. I think the reason we were able to enjoy one another’s company is because we truly care about one another. He wanted to try and see if there was still a spark there and there truly was but the difference is that our spark is simply from being familiar, not romantic at all anymore.”
The host nodded. “That’s good that you were able to explore your feelings. If Jules comes out with another woman, what does this mean for you?”
Skyy took a deep breath. “We promised one another that we would actually take this experiment seriously and give it a real try so I technically don’t have the right to be mad if he finds what he wants in someone that’s not me but it will hurt and hurt people hurt people so let’s just hope we don’t have a redo of what Amelia just went through. My emotions are all over the place today so I really don’t know what to expect from myself if he walks out here with another bitch. I know what I bring to the table and I pray he’s smart enough to know it’s what he needs.”
The lights dimmed again as the spotlight shone on the entrance.
“Jules, come on out man!”
Tumblr media
Skyy immediately closed her eyes. Her hands were shaking and her heart was still pounding.
Jules grabbed both of her hands. “Skyy, open your eyes.”
Skyy peeked with one eye open and was relieved to see him standing in front of her smiling. “Oh, thank God!” She let out a sigh of relief.
Jules continued holding her hands. “This experiment has proven to me that the only person I want touching me, caring for me, kissing me, or just in my world is you. I know that when we leave this villa, we might struggle in finding our footing but if I have you I know I’ll be fine because love is love no matter how it is obtained. I love you, Skyy. Are you ready to escape this loop with me and enjoy our journey together?”
Skyy’s eyes welled with tears. “Of course I’m ready. I was so scared.” She giggled.
“Why, baby?” He smiled as he wiped her tears.
“Because I wasn’t sure if whatever we had was strong enough to beat your ex. You’ve never told me you loved me before.” She admitted as she nuzzled her face in his chest.
He held her tight. “I’ll say it every minute if you need me to. Have no doubts, you’re the only one I want, love and cherish.” He stared at her for a moment then lowered his gaze to her lips.
Skyy gave him a faint nodding gesture letting him know he could go for it.
He grabbed her face gently and allowed their lips to connect so sweetly.
The ceremony continued. Finally, it was Laiyah’s turn to be in the hot seat. She walked down to stand with the host.
Tumblr media
“You okay, Laiyah? Your face looks flushed.” The host asked as he rubbed her shoulder gently.
Laiyah tried to control her breathing. “This is a tough spot to be in. You don’t know what’s in a person’s heart and I’ll die if I see Banks walk out here with another woman. I can’t handle that! I love him so damn much, that will kill me.” Tears began to run down her face.
“I have observed the two of you and you spend every waking moment together, why wouldn’t you be confident that his ex couldn’t sway him just like yours couldn’t?” The host asked.
Laiyah giggled for a moment in a cynical way. “Did we not all just witness Amelia’s situation? They were joined at the hit every single day since day one and Allen’s ass still chose his cheating girlfriend and left Amelia crushed with nothing. What makes my situation any better?”
The host nodded. “Well all we can do is hope for the best, right?”
Laiyah begun to lose her footing.
Noticing, Skyy immediately ran to where she was to catch her. They both were in a squat position as Laiyah leaned into her crying. “Laiyah, you have to have faith in him. Banks is not Allen. Banks will never leave you hanging like that. You know he adores the ground you walk on. No ex can compare to you.” Skyy’s affirmations began to give Laiyah the courage she had been so desperate to find.
They both stood but Laiyah tightened her grip on Skyy’s hand. “Stay, just in case you have to hold me back from committing a murder.” She said comically. “I’m ready now.”
“Come on out here, Banks!”
The lights dimmed and the spotlight revealed Banks walking in solo with a big grin on his face.
Tumblr media
Laiyah immediately dropped Skyy’s hand and ran up to him and showered his face with kisses. “Papa, you chose me!?” She began crying again.
“Your faith in me really sucks, we’re gonna have to work on that, mama.” He said as he kissed her forehead and they walked hand in hand back to where the host was standing.
“So Banks, tell us about your experience in the villa over this past week!”
Banks took a deep breath. “It was a rollercoaster of emotions honestly. I wasn’t expecting to see Mai. I haven’t seen her in so long and seeing her here was the lowest blow I think I’ve ever suffered. Hearing her explain why she cheated confused me on so many levels. I won’t lie, I was torn. In no way was I questioning what I felt for Laiyah but I was questioning my resolve for Mai.”
Laiyah stood in shock as she listened to his words. She never let his hand go though, he was simply speaking his truth and she refused to make him feel bad about it.
“What was your deciding factor?” The host asked him.
Banks chuckled quickly turning his attention to Laiyah. “She was. She is. I struggled for a moment wondering if Mai and I had never been put in that terrible situation, would I have ever even met Laiyah but what ifs shouldn’t matter because there’s no reality in them. The here and now has given me Laiyah, who will always be the best woman I have ever met besides my mom and why should I allow a ‘what if’ scenario to decide what I should do right now for my future? Laiyah will always be my answer.”
Laiyah grabbed his face and kissed his lips softly. “I love you, Papa.”
“I love you more.”
***
Jules and Skyy sat by the pool with their feet dangling in the water.
Skyy hugged his muscular arm. “Thank you for trying, Jules.”
He looked over at her in confusion. “Hmm? You’re okay with this week?”
She nodded. “Of course. It makes your decision even more valid to me. It proves to me that no one else can have your heart but me, and that means the world to me.”
“Well in that case I guess I should be thanking you too. I can’t my life without you in it. The life I had before, I can’t go back to it. My world must have you in it, forever.”
Skyy giggled. “Forever? There’s no such thing as forever.”
“There is when two people work towards it. Forever isn’t out of our reach. It should be our goal.” Jules lifted her chin and placed a kiss on her lips. He allowed his lips to linger on hers faintly, waiting for her response.
She took the bait and deepened the kiss full of love and passion.
Laiyah sat in front of Banks on the beach recliner that was near the pool.
Banks massaged her tense shoulders. “Are you going to start giving me credit and believing in me now?” He smiled. He knew it would be a process but he loved messing with her.
Laiyah rolled her eyes. “Yes, papa, yes! I know I was wrong for picking a fight with you. I was just scared that I’d lose you. I know two months doesn’t seem like a long time but it was enough time for me to fall head over hills for you and the thought of you not catching me terrified me.”
Banks pulled her into his chest and squeezed her body. “You don’t think losing you scares me too? It does but I had to try and think positive thoughts because whether I liked it or not this experiment was happening so may as well make the best of it.”
Laiyah simply nodded. “I’m glad we came out on the winning end though. I’m grateful for the way you love me.”
Banks stared into her eyes as he closed the distance between them. “I’m grateful for your entire being.” His breath fanned her bangs.
Laiyah felt like his stare was putting a spell on her. She felt captivated in a way that she never had.
Banks crashed his lips into hers suddenly, wrapping his arms around her body as he caressed her back.
Laiyah finally broke the spell and tried to catch her breath. “Should we take this inside?”
Banks was in shock. “Amour Room?” He asked just above a whisper.
She nodded with a wink and stood with her hand out, waiting for him to allow her to lead them.
He followed. “If I’m terrible, it’s because I haven’t slept all week really so my energy may not be up to par.” He warned her.
“All week? Why, Papa?!” She exclaimed as she examined his eyes. His eyes looked so weak.
Banks chuckled. “I’m fine. Me and Jules slept in the tents outside so the heat, mosquitoes, and uncomfortable ground made it damn near impossible to sleep well.”
Laiyah turned her attention to Jules and Skyy. “Skyy!!!!” She yelled.
Skyy abruptly broke away from the kiss that she and Jules were lost in. “What girl?”
“They haven’t slept all week! They slept in the tents.” Laiyah revealed.
Jules ran his fingers through his long, wavy locs.
Skyy stood and grabbed his hand so she could snatch him. “Time for bed, Papii!”
As the two couples headed back in Banks stopped in his tracks. “Where did y’all sleep though?”
Jules eyes Skyy. “Yeah, you don’t look like you lost a wink of sleep at all.” He examined her face.
Banks cocked his head to side waiting for a response.
Laiyah and Skyy gave one another a hard glance and both answered simultaneously:
“Huh?!”
The End~

Chapter 3: Who are you?
Tumblr media
Zahra stared at the label on the box. She was terrified to open it.
The return address had her ex’s name on it. Jared Miller.
Sachi stood at her bedroom door and watched her reaction. “What’s wrong?”
“He found me.” Zahra whispered. She could feel her hands shaking.
Sachi dropped the mug of coffee that she was holding. “Jared?”
Zahra nodded. “How the fuck did he find me?”
Sachi shrugged and grabbed the box off the bed and headed for the front door.
Zahra ran after her. “What are you doing?”
They stood in front of the elevator waiting on it to open.
“You’ll see!”
They rode the elevator down to the ground floor.
“Sir!!!!” Sachi yelled after the delivery guy as he stepped foot in his truck. She chased him down. “Sir!!!”
Win stopped the truck abruptly. “Are you fucking crazy, lady?”
Sachi ran to his window. “I will be if you don’t take this box back with you and send it back to the sender!”
Win eyed her for a moment. Then he looked to Zahra. He stepped out of the truck. “What is happening right now?”
“This package is from her stalker. I don’t know how he found her but it’s not good that he did.” Sachi explained.
Win glanced to Zahra. He could see her heaving for breath. He immediately ran over to her before she collapsed in his arms. “Breathe in slowly. . .now breathe out.” He spoke calmly to her as he rubbed her hair down.
Zahra simply stared at him as she tried to control her breathing.
A security guard ran out. “Everything okay?”
Sachi nodded. “It’s just a panic attack. She’ll be okay.”
“Need an ambulance?” The security guard asked.
“Yes!” Win yelled.
Zahra shook her head. “No. . .I’ll. . .be. . .fine.” She continued to try to control her breathing.
Win took it upon himself to mimic her breathing with her to try and help her calm down. “No one can hurt you. You’re safe right now.”
Zahra and Win’s eyes were locked. Win’s mom had suffered from a traumatic experience in the past that sometimes caused her to have panic attacks as well.
Zahra nodded and raised up from his arms. “Thank you.” She whispered as she continued to stare at him. “Who are you?” She thought aloud, never taking her gaze from him.
Win nodded and grabbed the box. “I’ll report this package as the wrong address.” He gave both women a small smile and left.
Zahra sighed and smiled. “Sach, he smelled sooooooooo good!” She gushed over him.
Sachi rolled her eyes. “Your stalker has found you and all you can think about is how another man smelled?”
“If he had held you, you’d understand!”

Wes stepped on the stage. Plenty of fangirls surrounded the stage as they screamed his name. Seeing all the fan signs made his heart ping with joy. He waved out to the crowd as the MC came onstage.
“Ladies!!!! We’re gonna call out five numbers and if you’re one of the lucky winners you will get a chance to come onstage and play a game with Mr. Wes Love!”
Wes started drawing numbers out of the clear box that the MC was carrying. “5, 11, 20, 26, and 32.” He called out into the mic.
Five lucky girls screamed and ran towards the stage. The MC handed each girl a stack of post it notes and explained the rule of the game. While Wes’ song plays the girls must dance every post it off of their clothes and body and whoever finishes first would win a signed t-shirt from Wes.
The girls began shimmying the post it notes off of them.
About two minutes into the song, Wes called a winner.
With a smile, “What’s your name?” He asked as he pulled her over to his side.
She was starstruck for sure, the grin on her face proved it. “Lina.” She spoke into the mic softly.
He nodded and handed her the t-shirt. “Congratulations Lina.”
Being with his fans made him feel complete and accepted.
Finally the event was over and his management walked him to a safe space.
“Can I grab something from the Nike store really fast?” Wes asked. Usually Chai would accompany him at these events but he figured Chai requested to be removed as his main manager since he was nowhere in sight. He was a bit annoyed that he actually followed through with the request in the first place. He has been his manager for two years, they were more like friends than artist/manager but now they were going to have to learn to be strangers.
Wes’ new manager looked at the other managers. “We’ll come with you.”
“No! You can’t. That’ll make me even more noticeable. I’m going to change out of this outfit into something more laid back so no one sees me.”
“It’s not a good idea.” The manager told him.
Wes sighed deeply. “Please?! I’m just picking up a package.” He needed his space, these new managers were on his heels every minute of this day and he was feeling suffocated.
One of the other managers simply shrugged and allowed him to go.
Wes immediately ran to a nearby bathroom and changed into a adidas t-shirt and matching sweat pants. When he finally made it to the Nike store, he ended up having to wait for the staff to locate the package since the store was a bit busy.
Wes suddenly heard a bit of a commotion which sounded like a shit ton of girls who were approaching near the store. He looked around and seen some familiar faces from the crowd earlier. He immediately slid into a corner that was partially obscured by clothing.
“Hey did you see Wes Love come in here?” One of the girls asked another familiar face.
Wes knew he was in trouble at this point. This was the same female that he had tackled at the club a couple weeks ago. He was hoping she had forgotten that little tidbit.
Sachi glanced around in his direction and noticed Wes with his hands together in a prayer motion mouthing the word “Please.” As he shook his head. She rolled her eyes and smirked at him. This was her chance for payback.
“Wes Love? The singer? Yeah, actually I did see him.” She paused and glanced back at him with that same smirk. Why did she do this? The terror on his face screamed that this was more important than her own revenge.
Wes started to step from behind the clothing until her next words stunned him.  . .
“Yeah he actually just left and went towards that way.” She said as she pointed towards the food court. “He probably got hungry. Better hurry so you can find him.” She said with a smile and watched as the group of girls ran off. She continued looking through the clothing as if Wes didn’t even exist. She never breathed a word to him until she felt fingers grip her wrist, pulling her into a small corner with her chest heaving again Wes. “What the hell are you-“ She yelled.
Wes slapped his hand over her mouth and nodded towards the same group of girls who were passing by the store and looking in again. “I’m saving you from having to explain to them why they can’t find me.” He whispered.
Sachi removed his hand from her mouth.
“Are you nervous?” He asked her.
Sachi shook her head. “Why?”
“I can feel your heartbeat. It’s a tell-tale sign.”
Sachi rolled her eyes. “A tell-tale sign of what?” Attitude laced her words.
“That you’re starstruck.”
She snatched away from him. “In your dreams. If I’m nervous, it’s definitely because I think you’re missing screws in your brain.”
He grabbed her wrist again. “Did you just call me crazy?”
“Finally you say something that makes sense. Now let me go before I scream that you’re here.”
Wes lightened his grip on her. “Can you help me?”
“With what? Haven’t I helped you enough?”
“I have to escape this place. Where’s your vehicle?”
Sachi giggled. “What part of crazy don’t you understand? I’d never tell you where I’m parked.”
“Please? I’m not crazy, that night I was just drunk and I wasn’t trying to touch you inappropriately either. Your dress was up.” He explained.
Sachi rolled her eyes. “I didn’t drive today.”
Wes ran his fingers through his hair. This was a habit when he was stressed.
“But my best friend is on her way to pick me up.” She sighed. “Come on!”
“You’re gonna help me?”
“You better hurry before I change my mind!”
He watched as she strutted out the store. Finally they were in the parking deck underground.
Sachi texted Zahra where she was located.
Wes grabbed his phone and called the only person who he could think of to help him. “Chai- I know you’re mad at me but I need you to come pick me up!”
Sachi stared at him as he spoke to who she assumed was a friend.
Zahra pulled into a parking spot and the two ran over to the vehicle.
“You have a ride, right?” Sachi stopped him as he reached for the backdoor.
Wes nodded. “You have time to wait with me, right?”
“Um no. I helped you out of there. My job is done!”
Zahra giggled. “Sir, you most certainly can get in until someone is here to pick you up.”
Sachi shook her head. “Absolutely not!”
“My car, my rules!” Zahra told her matter-of-factly.
Wes smiled and snatched Sachi’s phone out of her hand and climbed in the back seat.
Sachi reached to the back fighting him for the phone. “Give it back!”
Zahra sighed. “If I didn’t know you I would swear that you liked him.”
Sachi crossed her arm as she stared out of the windshield in front of her. “Glad you know me, then.”
Wes handed her back her phone. “I know I’ve asked for a lot so I got your line id so I can treat you for the hard work you’ve done today. Contrary to your thoughts, I am a good person.”
“Hmph.” Was Sachi’s only response.
Zahra winked at Wes. “Why did you help him exactly?”
Sachi stayed silent.
“Sach, I know you hear me!” “Because maybe I’m a nice person.” Sachi finally answered
Chai rolled up behind the vehicle. He took a look around before he approached the vehicle.
Wes patted both girls shoulder and thanked them.
“Thank you ladies for your help, as you know you can’t speak of this encounter ever. If you do-“
Wes stopped him. “You don’t have to say all of that!” “As your manager I have to protect you so, yes, I have to say it. You’re too trusting of fans!”
Sachi jerked her head around to look at Chai. “We’re not-“
“No need to worry, they’re not my fans. Just two girls who helped me.” He interrupted solemnly.
Chai nodded to the women and they both hurried to his vehicle and sped off.

Bro, are you down for drinks tonight? I need some advice.
Win texted Wes. They had known each other since University days.
Sure. It’s been a rough day anyway.
Win stared at the business card in his hand from weeks ago that he still hadn’t used.
Meet you at Red Tavern @ 7.

City of Smiles
Chapter 2: Volatile Beginnings
Genre: fluff/romance/angst/mature content
Tumblr media
Another day at the gym and Win was still not used to this being his actual job. Going to the gym daily used to simply be a hobby but ever since he began sleeping with the owners wife, he had been upgraded to a personal trainer. Had the owner knew the reason his wife has hired him, he’d probably be fighting for his life. He had heard rumors around the gym that the boss had dealings in illegal activities that everyone dared not to speak of. He remained silent whenever these rumors would arise, he already was in deep enough shit without helping to spread the proofless rumors. He needed the money though, otherwise he would have been ran away. His mom needed help paying for her hospital bills and his dad was darn near non-existent. Life hadn’t been a walk in the park for Win but beyond that he was striving for a better life in his future even though he had been making a lot of mistakes along the way. Sometimes he felt like he would never get it right but he continued day by day regardless.
“Excuse me sir, are you Win?” A middle aged lady asked. She was dressed in pink athletic tights with a matching sports bra, and her hair tied up into a tight bun at the top of her head.
Win snapped out of his thoughts. “Oh yeah! Sorry, I’m a little out of it this morning-”
The lady held her hand up to stop him. “Should we reschedule?” She seemed concerned.
He shook his head. “No, I’m fine. Lets get you stretched out.”
The lady laid on the black mat and Win lifted her leg and applied some of his weight on her as to stretch her thigh muscles out.
The woman winced in a bit of pain.
Win lightened up a bit. “You okay?” he asked with a shy smile.
“Oh yeah. This is just a sign that I needed this stretch more than I thought.” She giggled a bit.
They continued talking casually as they continue doing different stretches.
Cassie eventually made her way over and placed her hand on Win’s shoulder. “Early appointment today?”
Win nodded without looking at her.
She grabbed his chin and snatched it in her direction. “What’s wrong? Should we speak in my office?”
Win moved out of her grasp. “I have an appointment Mrs. Trachkornpul.” He put emphasis on the last name.
She sneered at him for a moment and then turned to the lady. “Do you mind if I still my wonderful employee for a moment?”
The lady gazed at Win for a moment. She could tell that his eyes were pleading for her to say no. “I don’t have much extra time today so I really need him to stick with my schedule today.” She smiled towards Cassie.
Cassie smirked. “Come see me afterwards then.” She walked away, her high heels click clacking against the tiled floor loudly.
Win kept his eyes focused on the exercise they were doing. “Thank you.” He mumbled.
The lady lifted his chin lightly so she could see his face. “Anyone ever told you that you have a nice face and voice?”
He rolled his eyes a bit. Every woman who had come through the place had hit on him at least once. He was getting a bit sick of it. “I think we should focus on the training instead of my looks.”
She sighed and pulled a card out of her pocket.
Quest Entertainment Artist Management
“Trust me, I’m not trying to get you in bed. I have a husband for that. But what I am trying to do is give you an opportunity to be more than a piece of meat in an environment like this. With your looks and voice, you could make it big in the acting industry.” She explained.
Win stared at the card for a moment. He was relieved that she wasn’t trying to get an happy ending after this appointment. “I’ve never acted before. It’s probably not for me.”
“How would you know if you’ve never tried? We have training before we ever send you out for an audition. Modelling might even be your thing.”
Win simply nodded. “A guy like me doesn’t run by luck often.”
“Well today must be your lucky day. When you’re ready to get out of that woman’s headlock, call me.” She grabbed her things and headed for the door.
Win sat on the ground for a moment as he shoved his hair out of his face. His phone pinged.
It was a picture of red panties hanging from Cassie’s index finger. I’m ready and waiting.
***
Sachi scanned through the comments from her post on Instagram the night before. She had posted a small clip of Wes Love performing onstage.
OMG you saw Wes???
You should vlog at one of his concerts?
Are you a fan of Wes?
I love Wes Love! He’s amazing!
Did you meet him?
The last comment she read made her think for a moment. She technically had met him, he literally crashed into her and tried to grope her. She rolled her eyes as she shook the thought away.
Zahra grabbed her phone from her to see what she was so into. “Oop- Wes is more popular than we thought! Where have we been?”
“I guess lost in Bangkok.” Sachi giggled as she listened to the performance.
“Did you tag him in it?” Zahra asked as she opened the tags.
Sachi shrugged. “Of course not! I’m not a fan.” She emphasized.
“Yet you posted his performance?”
“So I could keep a memory of what WE did last night.”
“So a picture of us at the lounge wouldn’t have sufficed?”
Sachi sighed. “Stop making this into a narrative that it’s not!” She got up to rinse her coffee cup out.
Zahra took it upon herself to tag Wes in the reel. “Okay, it was just a memory then.” She sat the phone down on the table and began searching the refrigerator for food to cook.
A few minutes later Sachi’s phone sounded with a notification.
Zahra looked at the screen and smirked.
“Who is it?” Sachi asked as she tried to read Zahra’s expression.
Zahra simply shrugged and turned the eye of the stove on.
Sachi snatched her phone off the table. What she seen literally made her throw the phone across the room. She was stunned frozen.
Zahra whipped around to face her when she heard a small crash. “What in the world is wrong with you, girl?” She grabbed her shoulders and shook her.
“How- how- how-?” Sachi could barely speak.
Zahra left her for a moment and picked the phone up. She examined it to make sure it wasn’t broken. “Use your words, Sach! How what?”
Sachi groaned. “How did he find that video? And why did he comment on it?”
Zahra opened the post up. “Oh because I tagged him in it! I mean he is in the video, seems he deserves to know.”
Sachi fiddled with her fingers. When she did this she was either anxious or mad.
“He just put the prayer hands emoji sis. He’s thankful for your support I guess.” Zahra smiled.
“What support? He groped me last night! He’s a creep and then he started crying out of nowhere. Dude is a nutcase!” Sachi shouted as she snatched her phone from Zahra.
Zahra thought for a moment. “Didn’t you say your skirt had rolled up when you fell?”
Sachi simply nodded.
“Maybe he was helping you. Did you think of that?”
“I don’t think so. I think he’s unstable and he creeped me out.”
Zahra shrugged and liked his comment for her. “I just think we shouldn’t judge someone when we don’t know them personally.”
***
Wes slapped at his face when he felt something tickle his nose. He groaned in irritation. “Stop babe!” His sleepy voice rasped in the middle of a dream that had him entangled with love.
Prong giggled as she laid next to him as he slept. “Weeeeeesssssss.” She sung in his ear.
Wes opened his left eye and almost jumped out of his skin. “Prong, what are you doing here?!”
“I think the better question is who is babe? Are you seeing someone and didn’t tell me?”
Wes chuckled. “Of course not. You’d be the first to know.” He bopped her nose.
She snuggled into his chest. “Good.”
He heard his front door open. “I guess no one uses my doorbell anymore!” He rolled his eyes.
His manager stepped into the doorway. “Am I interrupting anything?”
Wes moved Prong over a bit. “Not at all.”
Prong interlocked her arm with his and stared at Chai.
Chai sighed. “Can we talk? In private?”
Prong stared at Wes with her innocent eyes.
Wes had a hard time ever telling her no. He looked from Chai to Prong.
Chai finally spoke up. “It’s business and it’s confidential.”
Prong smirked. “I’ll call you later, Wes.” She moved past Chai and left the house.
There was an awkward silence for a moment.
Wes checked his phone for any notifications and noticed a reel. He always tried to stay connected to his fans by searching his name so that he could find postings from them. He realized that it was from last night. The IG handle was “HotLikeSachi”.
“So are you going to pretend I’m not here or continue with your phone?” Chai asked out of frustration.
Wes looked up for a moment. “You’re the one who said you had important business to talk about but you’re not saying anything.” Wes smiled at the video and commented and liked.
Chai snatched the phone. “Haven’t the company told you about commenting on fans posts?”
“And haven’t I told you about just walking into my house?” Wes rebutted.
Chai locked his phone and tossed it on the bed. “I apologize but you really have to start listening to the company more about these things unless you want to get caught up in a scandal.”
“A scandal? With a fan? Trust me you have nothing to worry about. The only woman whose in my life is Prong and we all know how that’s going.” Wes rolled his eyes and grabbed his guitar and started playing a few chords.
Chai sighed deeply. It was hard to speak to Wes when he was like this. “What if another fan gets mad because you didn’t comment on their post? Wes you’re a public figure now, you have to start acting like it.”
Wes closed his eyes for a moment. “Do you even know why I comment and like fans posts?”
“Why don’t you tell me?”
“Because they’re the only ones who understand me it seems and this my way of staying connected to them. They show me the attention and love that I lack in my real life-“ His voice broke for a moment then he continued strumming his guitar.
Chai silently watched him. Then he placed his hand over the hand that was strumming the strings to stop him. “Aren’t I here? Don’t I understand you?”
“It’s not the same, Chai. You do this because it’s your job. You get paid to be around me. If there wasn’t a paycheck involved we would never speak to one another!”
Chai immediately stood up from anger. “So that’s how little you think of me?! Whose always there to pick up the pieces when you fall apart? It’s not Prong! Yet you act as if Prong is the only person in your world. You even forget about your siblings and mom’s birthdays but I keep everything in line for YOU! I don’t get paid to manage your personal life, I do it because I care about YOU Wes! You’re too selfish to see anyone but Prong and I’m so over it.”
“I never asked you manage my personal life, where is this coming from?” Wes was so confused at his anger.
“Okay, so don’t call me if it’s not pertaining to work. I’m only available for work calls from now on. Everything else you handle on your own or maybe Prong can help you when she’s not up her new boyfriend’s ass!” Chai grabbed his car keys and headed for the front door.
Wes followed him. “You’re overreacting for nothing. Maybe I need a new main manager if you can’t handle it!”
Chai nodded. “Request a replacement then.” He stared at Wes. His heart was breaking seeing Wes so blindly in love with someone who only saw him as an option. Wes was becoming volatile and he didn’t want to watch it get worse. “Oh and you’ve been given an invitation to perform at the big T-Pop expo in a couple of months but you can’t say anything until all the contracts have been signed.” He left immediately not even waiting for a response.
Wes immediately grabbed a bottle of wine from his cabinet and started drinking it straight from the bottle. He needed something to calm him down.
***
The intercom in the condo began to sound.
Zahra answered it. “Hello?”
Good afternoon, I have a delivery for Zahra Patterson. Is it okay if I bring it up or would you like to come down and retrieve it? A man asked.
Zahra thought for a moment. A package? “Uh, is it heavy?”
Yeah it’s a bit heavy, ma’am. I don’t mind bringing it up for you.
“Yeah sure, bring it on up. Thanks!”
She waited by the door. She couldn’t remember ordering anything at all. She checked her phone to see if she had any confirmation emails from orders but there were none.
*ding dong , ding dong*
She turned the camera on by the door to see the delivery person before she opened the door. Ooh- he is cuuuuuteee! She thought to herself and smoothed her hair down and propped her boobs back up so they sat right in her bra before opening the door.
“Sawatdee Kah, handsome!” She said with a flirty smile.
The guy nodded in her direction. “Sawatdee kahp, ma’am.” He gave her a small smile.
“Ma’am? No no no. I’m too young to be your ma’am!”
He shook his head. “Sorry, I mean no harm, just manners. Where would you like me to sit this?”
Zahra took a look around and decided on the kitchen Island. “Right here.” She patted the granite countertop.
The guy immediately placed the box down. Zahra was mesmerized by the veins that traced up and down his muscular arms. His soft, fair skin was a bonus, and his slanted eyes she could’ve gotten lost in behind his round metal glasses.
Zahra clutched her chest as she stared at him.
The guy chuckled a bit. He was used to this reaction but never by an international woman. “Have a great day, lady.” He headed for the door.
Zahra snapped out of the trance. “Wait!”
He whipped his gaze back to her with a lift of his right eyebrow. “Problem?”
“Yeah, I didn’t catch your name.  . .”
He smirked and licked his lips. “Win.” And he hurriedly left the condo.
A few minutes later Sachi appeared. “You had company?”
Zahra blinked a few times. “Yeah the delivery man, but I think I found my future husband.” She smirked.
Sachi rolled her eyes. “One meeting and he’s already your future husband? I’m starting to think you’re a nutcase too.”
“I don’t expect you to understand, you didn’t get to witness the sexiness that captivated me!” She patted Sachi’s head and headed to her room with her delivery.

Chapter 1: Promises are made to be broken
Genre: fluff/romance/angst/mature content
Tumblr media
               *Bzzzt Bzzzt Bzzzt*
Wes eyes flew open as his body stiffened. It never failed that his alarm clock would startle him. He sighed loudly.
Another long day. He thought to himself as he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. For a while he simply laid there like dead weight. He had just gone to sleep at 3am and it was now 7am. It was nothing new though, this was the life of an aspiring artist who was trying to make it.
               *Ring Ring Ring*
He grabbed his phone off of his nightstand. It was his main manager. He really dreaded answering the phone. He knew that the call was to hurry him to get ready for his schedules. Wes wasn’t ungrateful, he just needed some rest. He had been working basically 18hr days in and out of the studio and for events and his body was starting to feel the exhaustion. No amount of Vitamin B12 would help this depletion of energy.
“Hello?” He sung into the speaker of his phone and waited on the lecture.
The manager chuckled a bit. “Just woke up?”
Wes stilled for a moment so he could think of a lie. “Uh, no. . .actually. . .I was cleaning up a bit. Got a little tired.” He chuckled back to the manager.
Suddenly a knock on his bedroom window sounded. To his shock, the manager was waving at him.
“So, cleaning happens in bed?”
Wes threw his head back into his pillow from embarrassment.
“Wes, how about I stall for you so you can get another hour of rest?”
Wes ran to the window and slid it open. “Would you really do that for me, Chai?!”
Chai gave him an understanding smile as he ruffled his hair.
Wes slightly moved his head out of his embrace. “Are you gonna stall or not?” He placed his hands together in a prayer motion as if pleading.
Chai sighed. “Sure, I’ll risk my job for my favorite artist.”
Wes winked. “Thank you so much! I owe you! I promise I’ll be ready by the time you come back! Is 8:30, okay?”
“Wait- you want me to leave?” Chai stood in astonishment.
Wes chuckled. “Why else would you stay? Go get breakfast, its on me!” he handed him a few baht with a smile and slid his window back shut.
Wes leaped back into his bed and immediately fell back asleep.
Chai stood gazing into the window for a few more seconds and then finally left.

*Mmmm*
Win groaned every time he lifted the weight in his right hand. After a few repeats, he gave his arms a rest.
“You’re really pumped up today?” Cassie, the gym manager said as she slid her hand across Win’s shoulder.
Win smirked. “Aren’t I always pumped?”
“Want to prove it in my office?” She asked as she pecked his bicep.
He grabbed her hand and led her to the back where her office was.
He immediately threw her against the wall and crashed his lips into hers. His right hand cupped the underside of her thigh and lifted it to give himself more access to her spot that aching with passion.
The room became hot suddenly as passion clouded any of their judgement.
“You always know just how to touch me.” She said as her red fingernails clawed into his back.
He loved being praised. It gave him a burst of energy. He jerked her over to her desk and bent her over.
The coldness of her desk prickled her nipples. She moaned a bit too loud.
“Shh.” He warned her as he grabbed his long, thick schlong and slid a condom on it. “You don’t want everyone out there to know you’re being fucked by someone whose not your husband, do you?” He chuckled.
She was spinning in ecstasy, none of his words were coherent to her. “I don’t care.”
He immediately thrusted hard into her causing her breath to hitch in the back of her throat.

*30 minutes later*
Win slid his armless shirt back over his head. He reached for the doorhandle.
Cassie encased her hand over his. “Why in such a hurry?”
“I have an appointment. This is my job, right?” Win raised an eyebrow at her.
Cassie sighed. “I’ll pay you double to stay with me for a little longer.”
Win chuckled. “What am I, a call boy? No thank you.”
“I’m not paying you for the sex! Just your time.”
He shook his head. He wasn’t a great guy to women by any means, but he refused to be paid for those type of services. “Let’s be clear, I fuck you because I want to, not because I need the money or whatever else is in your dirty fantasy. Now if you will excuse me, I have a client to attend to.” He removed her hand from him and walked into the main part of the gym where his new client was waiting.
He put his hands together as if praying and bowed a little. “Hello. Let’s talk about what fitness goals you want to set before we start.”
The guy smiled and took a seat on the bench next to Win.

Sachi set up her camera in the kitchen. She and Zahra were professional lifestyle vloggers. Although they shared a YouTube channel, Zahra focused more on fashion and makeup while Sachi’s niche was healthy cooking and travelling adventures.
Zahra cascaded into the kitchen to grab some cookies.
“You realize I’m in the middle of filming, right?”
Zahra waved at the camera. “Happy?”
Sachi rolled her eyes playfully. Zahra had a thing for irritating her at the most inappropriate times. “Now I have to restart it!”
“Why? It’ll be more natural this way.” Zahra always saw the bright side of situations. She wrapped her arm around Sachi with a pouty lip. “Are you mad?”
Sachi shook her head.
“How about I help you cook?! And you can be my model for a new makeup look I want to try later this week.”
“You? Help me? Isn’t your new drama on right now?” Sachi asked.
Zahra shrugged. “Aren’t you more important?” She said with a smile.
Sachi and Zahra had been best friends since freshmen year of college, and nothing had changed that. They had a rough start though.

Tumblr media
Sachi and a few of her friends had entered into a new restaurant that the whole city had been raving about.
“Reservation for Sachi.” She told the host.
As they followed the host to their table one of her friends poked into her frantically.
Sachi looked around at her. “What girl?”
“Isn’t that Darrel?” She pointed at the opposite side of the restaurant.
There sat Darrel, Sachi’s high school sweetheart, sitting, eating, and sharing laughs with another woman.
Sachi’s heart dropped. She was baffled. He was supposed to be at the batting cages with a few of his homeboys.
Sachi collected herself and motioned for them to just sit down and order drinks.
Every once in a while, she would glance over at his table. Her blood boiling but she was trying to give him the benefit of doubt.
“if you want me to go slap a hoe I will!” Lexi exclaimed as she began to stand up.
Sachi pulled her back into her seat. “I’m in a relationship with him, not her. If anyone deserves to be slapped, it’s him.”
Lexi stood again. “Okay well he can be slapped too then!”
“Lexi! Please just stop. For all we know they could be family.” Skye exclaimed.
Sachi took a deep breath.
“Sachi, don’t overthink it. Okay?” Skye rubbed her arm softly.
Sachi simply nodded. She pulled her phone out and texted Darrel.
How’s the batting cage? She quickly glanced over at his table to see if he had taken the bait.
A few minutes later her phone pinged with a response. It’s going well. I really miss you though ☹
She rolled her eyes. Miss you more.
Lexi stood again. “Family kisses the top of hands now?”
Sachi looked up from her phone just as Darrel’s lips left the woman’s hand that he was holding in his palm.
At this point she knew what was happening and she wasn’t about to stand for it. She walked over to his table quickly.
“Where’s the guys? Still at the batting cage?” She asked him.
He looked stunned. He was trying to think of any good excuse as to why he was anywhere but the batting cage. “Oh, I just left a little while ago and my old church friend contacted me to have dinner. We haven’t seen each other in a couple years so she wanted to catch up. She’s like a sister!”
The girl raised an eyebrow. “Church friend? Sister? I didn’t even know you a couple years ago!”
Sachi giggled. “Stop with the lies, Darrel. It’s amazing to me that you just gave me a promise last week and this week you’re on a date with an entirely different woman. You really are a piece of work!”
The woman put her hands up in confusion. “I really didn’t know about you. We’ve been talking on the phone for a few weeks, and he told me that he had been single for a month or so.”
“Single?!” Sachi exclaimed. “Well, now you got your wish!” She grabbed his glass and poured his drink over his head. “And you can take this cheap ass ring back too, babe!” She tossed the ring at his chest and walked out of the restaurant.
The other woman followed her out. “Wait! I just want to say sorry for this.”
Sachi wiped her tears off her face. “Not your fault.”
The woman grabbed her hands. “But still- you’re hurt and I’m apart of that hurt. I’m not a bad person.”
Sachi nodded. “Trust me, I realize that we’re both victims. It’s all good.”
By that time Sachi’s friends had made it out the restaurant and they called for an uber to pick them up. As they stepped into the uber Sachi paused for a moment before getting in completely.
“I didn’t catch your name. . .” She aimed her statement to the other woman.
“Zahra.” She gave her a half smile.
Sachi simple smiled back and disappeared into the uber.
Zahra watched the vehicle as it pulled off. She felt terrible.
“Zahra, wanna get cute tonight?” Sachi asked.
Zahra smirked. “You know I’m always up for a reason to get cute! Where we going?”
“There’s a new lounge that I hear is nice.”
Zahra thought for a moment. “Is it the one that Mely’s been talking about? I think it’s called Bangkok Paradise, maybe?”
“Yeah, something like that. We can meet Mely there later.”
***
Tumblr media
The music was blaring.
“The DJ is hot!” Zahra exclaimed as she purred in his direction.
Sachi giggled. “Yeah, he is a looker.”
After a few songs, a lady walked onto am adjacent stage that was set up for live music.
“How’s everybody doing out there?!” She yelled into the mic.
The crowd went wild with cheers.
“She looks so expensive.” Sachi whispered to the group of friends.
Mely laughed. “That’s cause she’s the owner of this place!”
Sachi simply nodded as she continued listening to the lady speak.
“I am excited to have the pleasure of introducing to some of you one of my favorite neo-soul R&B artists. He goes by the name of Wes Love. Ladies give it up for him!”
Sachi’s arms became chilled as she watched this medium height, tanned, long wavy-haired guy walk up the steps to the stage with a chestnut brown acoustic guitar in his hand. The moment he strummed the first note of his guitar she was captivated. His voice alone was enough to make anyone fall in love but marrying that with his light strums of his guitar made the experience more intriguing.
Zahra nudged her. “You like what you see?”
Sachi shook her head. “I like what I hear.” She answered simply. His looks weren’t shy of beauty but the music he played and the words he sung were what had drawn her in.
She immediately shook herself out of whatever trance she was in though when she noticed a woman walk up to meet this guy at the bottom of the steps leading him by hand to a VIP section with her.
***
“You did so good, Wes! This is your first lounge, right?” The woman asked.
Wes nodded as he gave a grateful smile.
She grabbed the bottle of champagne and poured him a glass. “I always knew you’d be something special.” She said as she interlocked her arm with his.
He stared at her for a moment. He could see his past, present and even future in her eyes. “Promise me you’ll always be by my side, Prong?”
She lightly tapped his nose. “I haven’t gone anywhere yet, right?”
All he could do was smile and enjoy hers and everyone else’s company on this night.
A few minutes later Prong got up to leave out of the VIP section but promised she’d be right back. When she finally got back there was a guy with her.
“Wes, I think it’s finally time that I can introduce someone to you. You’re the most important person in my life so I think it’s only right that you’re the first to know. This is King. We’ve been dating for a couple of months, but I think we’re going to make things more official soon.”
King bowed with his hands together in a prayer formation. “Nice to meet you. You’re her brother, right?”
Wes gulped down the wine that was in his glass and cleared his throat.
Prong nudged him. “Wes, are you okay? He’s talking to you!”
Wes snapped out of his trance. “Oh yeah I am. Pleasure meeting you.” He stood up too quickly and the room was spinning. He felt his body tipping over a bit before Chai, his manager, steadied him.
“You need help walking?” Chai asked.
Wes chuckled and unwrapped himself out of Chai’s arms. “I’m good man! I just have to pee, okay?”
As Wes walked towards the bathroom, his smile immediately dropped, and a rollercoaster of emotions flushed over his body. He felt his body crash into something hard.
“Ouch!”
He heard a female’s voice. When he looked down, someone was on the ground. He immediately helped her up and was very apologetic.
“You should really watch where you’re going!” She said irritated.
He tried to help her smooth her skirt down, but she shoved his hands away.
“Stop! What the hell is wrong with you?!” She yelled.
Another guy shoved Wes away from the woman. “Sorry ma’am he’s just drunk.”
The woman simply nodded.
“I didn’t mean anything by it, I swear. I’m not a creep, I swear!” His eyes were welling up with tears as he pleaded.
The woman stared in amazement. He couldn’t possibly be crying because of this. She simply dismissed herself.
Wes slid onto the floor with his back against the wall.
The guy who had pushed him followed suit. “I haven’t seen you at the gym in a while.”
Wes took a deep breath. “Busy.”
The guy patted his back. “What’s going on?”
Wes looked up at him. “You know what I hate the most, Win?”
Win shrugged. He wasn’t sure where this was going.
“Promises.” He chuckled in a sinister fashion. “Maybe they’re made to be broken.” He smirked as tears steadily ran down his face.

Chapter 4: Breakfast
Tumblr media
After having way too many drinks that Taeil had supplied to Kaya, they were finally leaving the bar. Thinking that Taeil was Senna, Kaya carelessly interlocked her arm into his.
Tumblr media
Senna followed behind and chuckled lightly. She knew her best friend was a bit lit.
“Senna, have you been working out? You’re normally mushier.” Kaya pouted.
Senna rolled her eyes at that last statement.
Taeyong strolled up beside her. “So, whose gonna tell her?”
Senna looked over at him with peculiar eyes. She was wondering why he was speaking to her. He always seemed halfway weirded out before. “Are you talking to me?”
Taeyong chuckled. “Who else would I be talking to?”
“Are you feeling. . .okay?” She asked as she placed the back of her hand on his forehead. He flinched a bit. “I won’t hurt you, ya know?”
Taeyong pulled her hand down off his face. “I’m trying to be nice, is that a crime?”
“Why now?”
Taeyong thought for a moment as they walked the bright streets. “Because we’re here together and wouldn’t it be uncomfortable for me to keep being distant?”
“I’m more uncomfortable with your sudden mood change.” She rolled her eyes and snatched her hand from his that she had just realized he was still holding.
Taeyong exhaled loudly. He snatched her back towards him which made them crash into one another. “Ouch.”
“That’s what you get for jerking on me!” She tried to pull away, but he refused.
“Look, Senna. I’m trying here. I know I don’t have great communication skills with people that I am not familiar with, but your friend is drunk and in Taeil’s arm. I’m all you have tonight so please don’t make this tougher than it has to be.”
Senna giggled. “So, you’re only being nice because ‘you’re’ all I have? I don’t need your sympathy!”
“I didn’t mean it like that! I just mean. . .” He paused for a moment and took a deep breath. “I don’t know what I mean.” He sighed.
Senna crossed her arms over her chest. The night air was brisk, and she left her jacket at the hotel. “Just be quiet.” She said calmly and walked away.
Kaya finally looked up at Taeil after all this time and realized that it wasn’t Senna, she had been holding this entire time. She gasped loudly. “I clearly have drunk too much if I mistook you for Senna. I am so sorry.” She politely pulled her arm away.
Taeil caught her arm in mid-action and wrapped it back around his. “Not a problem. Why would you need to apologize?” He bopped her nose with his pointer finger.
Her cheeked reddened as she gave him a flirty smile. “Well in that case, I’ll use you every time I’m drunk.”
“Or you could use me any time” He stated under his breath.
Her phone started ringing.
Mr. Kim
Kaya answered quickly. “What?”
“I’m outside your apartment.”
“Well, you might as well go back home.” She giggled.
“Huh? Why? Are you still mad about what happened at the office?”
“I’m not mad I’m just out with someone and not in the city.” Kaya told her boss honestly. She wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but she loved seeing him jealous.
“It better not be another guy, Kaya or you’re fired.”
Kaya giggled and handed Taeil her phone.
Taeil was taken aback. He wasn’t sure why he needed to talk to whoever on the phone but if Kaya wanted it, he was obliging. “Um hello?”
Mr. Kim paused for a moment. He couldn’t believe that Kaya was being this upfront with her disrespect. “Who the hell are you?”
“Someone whose hanging up. Kaya isn’t available.” Taeil clicked the end button.
Kaya was waiting on Taeil to scold her for putting him on the spot this way. She stayed quiet so she could think of an explanation.
“Before this trip is over you won’t even remember that guys name.” Taeil promised her as he kissed the back of her hand.
Kaya raised an eyebrow. “You’re not mad?”
“For what? Because you have a man?” Taeil questioned with a smile on his face.
Kaya nodded.
“He’s not my problem.” He pulled her with him quickly.
They had made it to the entrance of their hotel.
Taeyong stilled for a moment. “I should stop them, right?”
Senna just shrugged and walked ahead of everyone. She was tired and ready to lay in bed. She beat everyone to their suite.
The suite has a living room area plus a separate bedroom.
Tumblr media
Taeyong sat on the couch but was very uncomfortable. It was bad enough that they were walking the streets with females but now they were accompanying them to their hotel room. It didn’t feel right.
“Taeil, we need to go. We got them back safely, our job is done.” Taeyong whispered.
Kaya overheard him. “Party-pooper, just chill. Want some wine to help you mellow out?”
Taeyong shook his head quickly.
Kaya plopped down next to him on the couch. “Why don’t you go invite Senna to watch a movie with us?” She pointed towards the room.
Taeyong eyed her for a moment. “I don’t think I should go in there.” He spoke quietly.
Kaya shrugged. “Suit yourself. She probably in there talking to her boyfriend anyway.” She smirked and grabbed the remote to turn to a movie.
Taeyong rolled his eyes and went to the bathroom. He stared at himself in the mirror. He felt conflicted. Part of him wanted to invite Senna in the living room for the movie but if she was speaking with her boyfriend, he didn’t want to interrupt. He splashed water on his face and took the initiative to enter the bedroom.
“Min, can we talk when I get back?” Senna rubbed her eyes. “I’m tired, and we’re not getting anywhere.”
Taeyong stood in the doorway observing.
“No, we’re gonna talk about this now. You admitted to giving your number to other men and then you go out of town without even asking me. This is our problem. You just do whatever the hell you want to as if I’m not important. What is wrong with you?”
Senna sighed. “Nothing’s wrong with me. I don’t have to be under you 24/7. You’re not my dad. I want a boyfriend, not another father, Min. Stop dictating everything!”
Taeyong rushed to her side and ended the call and shut her phone off. “If someone is making you cry, you probably shouldn’t be talking to them.” He told her as he laid her phone on the bed.
Senna covered her face as the tears kept falling down. She wasn’t sad just overwhelmed with emotions. Min was a great guy but sometimes he was overbearing and made her second guess why they were even together. She knew he simply cared about her but sometimes his caring was too much.
Taeyong stood there watching her cry. He felt terrible but he really didn’t know what to do to make her feel better. “We’re gonna watch a movie, if you want to- never mind.”
Senna looked up at him with her big brown teary eyes. “Why are you here? Because you feel sorry for me or because you care?” She wiped her face. She was giving him a bit more of attitude than was necessary.
Taeyong hesitated to answer. Why was he in there? He thought to himself. He wondered had he started to care or was he being nice because she was upset and that was the polite thing to do. “I think catching a movie will help you to feel better.”
Senna dried her face up and simply nodded. It wasn’t the answer she was hoping for, but this wasn’t her dreams. Why would someone as famous as Taeyong ever care about her.
Taeyong grabbed her hand and dragged her out the room.
Taeil and Kaya were both sleep on the couch already with Kaya’s head laying in his lap.
Taeyong sighed. “I knew this would happen.”
Senna gave him a small smile. “Will you get in trouble?”
“No. But we can’t make a habit of this type of behavior.” Taeyong spoke honestly.
Senna stood against the wall. “Are you gonna leave him here?”
Taeyong shrugged. “I don’t know what to do.”
“You could stay if you want. I won’t bother you or tell anyone.”
Taeyong chuckled. “Why would I worry about that? You must really think I’m mean.”
Senna looked away. “I just know I’m not your favorite person.”
“Maybe not but I don’t usually put this type of effort into new people so you must be growing on me.” He smiled and sat down at the opposite end of the couch and patted the space beside him. “Guess we better watch the movie since they’re not.”
*********************************
The next morning the girls were knocked out. Senna’s head was on Taeyong’s shoulder.
He sighed as he watched her sleep. She was actually beautiful when she wasn’t causing a ruckus, he thought to himself. His eyes widened at the thought, the thought halfway scared him and he immediately shook them away. He gently lifted her head off of him and allowed her head to fall onto the couch seat where he was originally sleeping. He tapped on Taeil softly.
Taeil groaned. “What?”
“Get up, we overstayed our welcome. It’s morning.” Taeyong whispered.
Taeil checked his phone for the time. It was precisely 6:05am. “Oh shit!” He jumped up forgetting that Kaylah was in his lap. Thank goodness that she was still suffering from a hangover, so she didn’t notice a thing.
The guys both rushed out of the suite and hauled for a taxi.
********************
Senna groaned as a knock sounded off their hotel room door. “Who could this be?” She said with her eyes still closed, praying that the person just went away.
The knocking landed on the door once again. “Delivery!” The person yelled.
Kaya slapped Senna’s thigh. “Please answer the door and make it stop!” She halfway yelled. Her head was killing her.
Senna rolled her eyes and headed for the door. “We didn’t order anything.” She said as she opened the door and noticed a bag of what seemed like food plus a bag from a pharmacy.
“Do you know anyone by the name of L.M.T.?” The delivery person asked.

Chapter 3: Lemonade
Tumblr media
Taeyong slouched down on the couch in their weekend rental. They were taking a short break before their new comeback schedules became flooded.
Johnny tapped his leg, knowing he needed someone to talk to *probably*. “What’s up, bro?” He formed a sneaky smile.
Taeyong snapped out of his thoughts. “Nothing. Why?”
“You just seem like something is bothering you. But if it’s nothing I guess I can go-“
Taeyong grabbed his hand and pulled him back down on the couch. “Are all American girls like her?”
Johnny lifted an eyebrow and burst out laughing. “Like what? Crazy when their drunk? Beautiful? Clumsy? Like what Taeyong?”
Taeyong rolled his eyes. “Nothing, just forget I said anything!” He crossed his arms over his chest feeling a massive amount of frustration. He didn’t have much experience around women except for work purpose and they always acted up to par because in Korea your image was everything. You could say he was a bit naïve outside of the idol world but quite frankly they all were, but some more than others. He had never dipped his feet in the lady pool because work was too important to him. Entertaining had become his one stop shop and he didn’t have a college degree to fall back on, so he had to make his family proud somehow and honestly, he loved doing what he did. Seeing all the smiling faces while onstage gave him a rush like no other.
“I’m sorry Tae, I’ll be serious now. All girls are like that. Why are you so worried about it, I doubt you’ll ever see her again. It’s water under the bridge. It’s cool, bro, just chill.” He punched his arm playfully. “You’re coming out with us?”
Tae sighed. “I’ll meet with y’all later, I need some fresh air.”
Johnny nodded and left with the other guys.
**********************
Kaya’s phone pinged with a message.
We’re @ Big Rock Bar.
Senna glanced at her friend’s phone and noticed that the kakao id was the same one that has texted her earlier.
“Kaya, who is this person? It’s obvious we both know them.” Senna was a bit irritated. She still had a hangover and just wasn’t in the mood for shenanigans.
Kaya smiled big. “I may have given Jaehyun our information the other night when you were drunk.”
“So, this trip is to meet them?! Why would we ever do that?” Senna rubbed her temples.
“Why wouldn’t we, Senna?”
“Because quite frankly I don’t want Taeyong to see me again. It’s bad enough that I was drunk and don’t remember everything. Making matters worse is not the move.” Senna blew a breath of frustration out.
Kaya continued driving. “This is your chance to make things right!”
“Stop the car!” Senna argued. “Please, Kaya. Just let me out. I need some air.”
Kaya pulled over to a safe spot. There was a street market nearby. “Do you want me to go with you?”
Senna shook her head. “Go to the bar, don’t let me ruin your fun.” She smiled softly and shut the car door.
The nice breeze crisply hit her face. She rarely wanted to be alone, but she was stressed and too scared to face Taeyong. She had made a fool of herself already; she didn’t want to add insult to injury.
Her phone began ringing. It was Min. She didn’t feel like talking to him either. He was great but she knew tonight would be an argument because her tongue slipped. She really liked him but sometimes, when drunk, her eyes wandered and wished to be single again.
Tumblr media
She stopped at a tteokbokki stand. “One please.” She told the older lady.
She walked along the path that was full of friends hanging out and couples having a casual date. The wind had become brisk, suddenly it began pouring. Thank goodness the street market had canopies, but she would be there for a long while.
Min still hadn’t stopped calling and she really wanted to turn it off, but she couldn’t because if she did it would make it too apparent that she was ignoring him.
She sat against the wall and waited for the rain to stop.
After a few minutes she noticed a presence sit on the wall beside her. She took a glance at the person just to make sure it wasn’t anyone sketchy.
The person had earbuds in his ears and wasn’t paying her any attention, as if he even should. He was in his own world, and she should’ve been doing the same.
Her phone rang again, and she huffed.
Kaya 📷
“Thank God it’s you, Kaya!” Senna exclaimed when she answered her phone.
Kaya began to panic. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah girl, Min keeps blowing my phone up and I’m just not in the mood to argue with him.”
Kaya giggled. “Tae isn’t even here. You would’ve been fine.”
“What?! Taeyong isn’t there?” She yelled a bit too loud.
The guy next to her snapped his head in her direction.
Senna glanced over at him and apologized but then noticed just why the guy’s attention.
“Sis, I may have an idea why he’s not there. . .” Senna spoke lowly.
Kaya could barely hear her. “What?!”
“Are you following me?!”
Kaya heard a male’s voice in the background yelling. “Um Senna where are you?”
Senna whined a bit. “I’ll call you back.” She hung up. “Taeyong, shh! Please.”
Taeyong began to stand.
Senna grabbed his hand and pulled him back down to the ground. “I promise if you just give me 2 minutes I can explain!”
“You have 1.” He said without looking at her. “The clock is ticking.”
She took a deep breath. “My friend and Jaehyun somehow put this together. Once I figured out why my friend came to this city, I immediately was against it. I’m here at this street market because I didn’t want to go to the bar that y’all were going to! I promise!”
Taeyong eyed her for a moment. “So, this is a coincidence?”
“Yes. How would I have known you’d be here?”
Taeyong shrugged. “I can’t get rid of you it seems.”
Those words hit her heart like a wrecking ball. “Don’t worry, I won’t bother you ever again.” She told him solemnly and walked away. The rain has tapered off a bit. A little rain wouldn’t kill her.
Taeyong watched her disappear in the distance. His mind was racing. He knew his words were too harsh but every time she was around, he was reminded that he had no experience with women which made him uncomfortable because he didn’t know what to do or say; but the sudden realization was that hurting her feelings wasn’t the route to take.
He ran through the crowd of people trying to search for her but to no avail. After a minute or so he finally saw her, but she had just gotten into a cab. He waved another cab down and instructed the driver to follow the cab in front of him. He had to at least apologize for being rude. His heart felt uneasy with allowing her to leave the way he had.
Her cab stopped in front of a restaurant.
Big Rock Bar
He jumped out the car and rushed to her. His hands landing on her upper arms to stop her. “What’s your name?”
Senna stared at him I shock. “Why does it matter? Do you want to blacklist me with other idols?”
Taeyong shook his head. The rain was pouring on them. “What’s your name?”
Senna exhaled loudly. “Senna. Now can I get out the rain?” She tried to shrug out of his grip, but he wouldn’t let go.
“Senna, I’m sorry for being rude. You apologized for your actions so now I think I should.” He cracked a small smile. “For what it’s worth, I don’t think you’re a bad person.”
Senna smirked. “Thanks. Now can I go in?”
He immediately dropped his hands. “Sure.” He looked away for a moment. “Are they still in there?”
Senna nodded and walked towards the doors, leaving him behind. She found Kaya and the guys and immediately joined them.
Kaya handed her some napkins so she could wring her wet hair out. “Is it still raining hard?”
Senna simply nodded but didn’t say a word.
Taeyong joined them at the table a couple of minutes later.
“How’d you know we were here?” Jaehyun asked.
Taeyong’s eyes widened. “Didn’t y’all mention this place at the rental?”
The guys all shook their heads.
“We didn’t know we were coming until after we left the rental.” Doyoung revealed. “Wait- were y’all together?”
Senna and Taeyong both yelled “NO!”
Yuta lifted an eyebrow. “Both soaked. Both smell like food. Both come at same time. Smells fishy.”
Senna shook her head. “I came first!”
Taeyong rolled his eyes. “Can we talk about something else than something truly impossible?”
Kaya nudged Senna’s leg. “Were y’all together?” She whispered.
“We’ll talk at the hotel.” Senna whispered back.
“Kaya, would you like another drink? It’s all on me tonight.” Taeil offered.
Kaya smirked. “Everyone’s?”
Taeil shook his head. “Only yours tonight. And while we’re at it, text me sometime.” He slid her phone out of her hand and added his kakao.
Kaya was a bit taken aback. Taeil normally didn’t seem this forward from the videos she had seen of him. “Are you normally this confident?”
Taeil chuckled. “No, but I see a couple others with their eyes on you so I have to speak up if I want to be in the race at least.”
Kaya raised her glass up to his. “Smart move.”
Senna was deathly quiet.
“You want a drink, Senna?” Johnny offered.
Taeyong immediately intervened, “No, please no!”
Senna covered her face. “A lemonade is fine.” She was still embarrassed over her drunken night the night before and she can’t imagine the horrifying flashbacks that Taeyong gets every time someone mentions alcohol.
“Sorry, you can drink if you want.” Taeyong looked towards the bar.
Senna giggled a little. “I don’t remember much. Just tell me was I that bad?”
Taeyong thought of a nice way to answer. “Lemonade is a good choice tonight.”

Chapter 2: Cherry Bomb
Tumblr media
Senna had missed about five minutes of the concert by the time she had made her way back to her seat.
Kaya slapped her arm playfully. “What took you so long?” She yelled over the music.
Senna shook her head with a pout. “It’s a long story, I’ll tell you later!” She exclaimed and watched the guys perform a few songs.
She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she had literally bumped into Taeyong, and he landed on top of her. What are the odds that this would happen to she and her bias? So much for first impressions. She thought to herself.
Ppalli Ppalli pihae, right, cherry bomb, feel it, yum
The crowd began to go wild as one of NCT 127’s older songs played. The nostalgia of seeing them in the bright camouflage made for great memories.
The music was taking Kaya and Senna away until she noticed how Taeyong was staring into the crowd. His expression was as if he had seen a ghost. She began to search around to investigate which lucky fan had caught his attention but was it really luck, with the way he was looking then she’d think not.
Senna also finally noticed his expression and this made her want to crawl under a rock and hide, after what felt like the longest ten seconds of her life, Taeyong finally released her from his death stare. At this point she was ready for this concert to be over, and she prayed that if they ever held another, that Taeyong wouldn’t remember the chick who made him fall and also pushed him onto the ground off of her. The most embarrassing situation of her life.
******************
“Wanna grab a bite to eat? I know it’s late but-“, Kaya started.
Senna stared into space for a moment.
Kaya nudged her. “Are you okay? You haven’t seemed fine since you came from the restroom.”
She simply nodded. “I need a drink!” She said and began walking to a cab that was waiting on the street.
Kaya told him where to drop them off and they were on their way.
*******************
After a few shots of Soju, Senna was feeling good. “That concert was unpredictable to say the least.” She spoke with a slur. She brought another shot to her lips.
Kaya cleared her throat. “Maybe you should slow down. Are you sure you’re okay?”
Senna giggled. “Yeah girl! I ran into my bias today.” She burst out laughing loudly.
Kaya moved the soju bottle closer to herself. “I wouldn’t call seeing him onstage ‘running into him’ but okay, be great!”
“No no no, he was on top of me, Kaya!” She reached for the bottle.
“Hey, you can’t say things like that too loudly about an idol, especially when it’s not true. Your imagination is too vivid tonight.”
Senna pouted, then her phone began to ring. It was her boyfriend, Min.
“Hi, my love!” She sung into the speakers.
Min chuckled. “Are you drunk?”
“Maybe, or maybe not. Maybe I just feel good because Taeyong was on top of me!” She exclaimed into the speakers again too loudly while giggling.
Kaya hurried and slapped her hand over Senna’s mouth. “Senna, that’s enough!”
“Give Kaya the phone, babe.” Min instructed.
Kaya immediately put the phone to her ear. “She’s lit, Min.”
“Should I come get y’all?” He asked.
Kaya took a deep breath. “Yeah.”
Senna snatched her phone and pressed the “end” button. “No ruining my fun!”
About fifteen minutes later Min showed up to help Senna out the bar. She fought like hell to keep from being dragged out the doors.
The guys of NCT saw the action as they approached the restaurant. Taeyong stilled and focused on Senna.
“No Min, let me go! I’m not done drinking!” She slapped his hand away as he continued to grab at her.
Kaya noticed the guys from NCT and apologized for the commotion. “We’re sorry fellas, she had too many drinks. We’re on a high from your concert.”
The guys other than Taeyong smiled.
Senna tuned into her best friend's words and then zoomed in on Taeyong. “Taeyong!!!” She yelled. “I’m not a bad person, really!" She began to walk towards him.
For some reason he couldn’t move. He wanted to but his feet were glued.
Senna caressed his face softly. “I wronged you today.” She pouted as tears welled in her eyes. “I’m sorry for knocking you down and making you fall on top of me.” She whimpered.
Min grabbed her away, but she snatched from his embrace. “I said to stop touching me. I just want to apologize to bubu!”
Kaya was in utter shock. “So, Taeyong was really on top of you?”
Mark and Haechan’s mouths dropped. “Daebak, hyung!”
Taeyong shook his head fast. “No, she- she-“ His anxiety was creeping up.
Senna covered his lips with her finger. “I had to potty really badly and I knocked him over.” She placed her other hand over her chest “it’s all my fault. Taeyong is a good boy.”
Taeyong’s anxiety slowly began to dissipate once her touch was felt on his lips. He immediately stepped away from her. This feeling was foreign and he was uncomfortable.
Senna noticed and stepped away a bit. Even with the alcohol in her system, she knew she had overstepped a line.
Min grabbed her again but she obliged this time.
Walking away with Min, she took one last glance at Taeyong and mouthed “sorry”.
Kaya was not about to allow this moment to just pass as she watched Taeyong begin to walk into the restaurant, so she grabbed a notebook out her clutch and wrote hers and Senna Kakao IDs down.
“Jaehyun!” She yelled to stop him. He was the last entering. “I know this is strange but she’s a good person really. Here’s our information. Give it to Taeyong, maybe we can treat him to an apology meal someday.”
Jaehyun nodded with a smile and took the small piece of paper and left.
*******************
The next morning Senna woke up with a blazing headache.
To be petty, Min snatched her curtains back to let in the sunshine. “Good morning, sunshine!”
Senna threw her pillow at him and rolled her eyes. “Did I drink last night? And why are you here?” He never spent the night, so it was strange.
“You should be thanking me! You showed your ass last night.”
Senna started to embarrassment as vague flashbacks of the night before played. “What did I do?”
“Well, you got drunk, filthy drunk! But the highlight of the night was Taeyong being on top of you apparently and you shouting it for the world to hear.”
Senna buried her face into her pillow. “I am dead! I can’t believe I acted like that. I’m never going to another concert again.”
Min handed her some medicine for her headache and some water. “Take this!”
She took the medicine and held her head. “I feel miserable.” She cried.
“Yeah, and if you hold another man’s face again, you’re gonna feel worse.” He said before walking out her bedroom.
Senna stared after him. What does he mean by that? She thought to herself.
Kaya stood in her doorway. “How do you feel?”
“Embarrassed.” She spoke dryly.
Her phone pinged.
“Who is Jay214_ on kakao?” She asked Kaya. “Did I drunkenly give someone my kakao id again?”
Min rushed to her doorway. “Again?! What the hell do you do when I’m not around?” He was becoming more and more irritated.
“No that’s not what I meant!”
Min shook his head and grabbed his keys and left the apartment.
Kaya smirked. “Well, you’ve got a lot of damage control to do. Have fun with that, I’m heading out. Get some rest!”
Senna stared at the message.
How bad do you want to redeem yourself?
Senna leaped out her bed and ran to stop Kaya from leaving. “Kaya, who is this?” She showed her the phone.
Kaya tried to hold her smile in. “No idea.”
Senna cocked her head to the left. Something didn’t feel right. “What did I do last night?”
“A lot. But if you want to make things right, get some rest so that you’re ready for tonight.” Kaya smirked.
Senna gave her a perplexed expression. “Ready for what?”
“Pack an overnight bag, we’re heading to Anyang around 3.”
“Why? What’s in Anyang?”
Kaya smirked. “Now what, more like who.” She pushed Senna back to her bed. “Now rest up, I’ll be back in a couple of hours.”

Chapter One: Elevator
Tumblr media
As Kaya took a sip of her coffee, she was sadly interrupted by her office phone ringing off the hook. It was far too early for her not to have any caffeine in her system.
She took a deep breath before she answered it. She already knew it was her boss. He was the most sought out attorney in Seoul.
“Yes, Mr. Kim?” She answered the phone as nicely as her caffeine deficient body would allow.
He chuckled. “Don’t you think you should be making your way to my office, Ms. Kaya?”
She rolled her eyes. “I left all the papers you need on your desk, and I already emailed your schedule to you for the week. Did I miss something?”
“Just get in here. I won’t ask again.”
*Beep, beep, Beep*
She huffed. He had hung up in her face. She hated that he was always so entitled-acting. She slipped her red stilettos back on and quickly stomped her way to his office.
As she opened the door, he was waiting with his back to her looking out the window.
“Close the door behind you.” He instructed.
She huffed but obliged.
Before she could take a seat, he grabbed her chin with one hand, staring deep into her eyes. She could tell he wasn’t happy.
“Did you just breathe hard at me?” He asked as he cocked an eyebrow up.
She shook her head a bit.
“Lose your attitude or else!” He told her as he released her chin.
She crossed her arms. “Or else what? You’ll fire me?” Now she was the one laughing.
He pulled her into his embrace roughly, his hand landing straight on her butt. To make things worse he took a handful of it whispering, “You’ll find out tonight. My place at 8.”
She shrugged out of his embrace. Although hot, she would have to decline his offer, no matter how bad she wanted him. “I can’t tonight.” She spoke simply.
“And why is that? If you have a date, just cancel it.”
She smirked. “It’s a date I can’t cancel. This person is too important.”
He cocked his head to the left. “Are you seeing someone else?”
She smiled, “Maybe. I’ll take my leave now since you clearly didn’t need anything.” She waved and let the door shut behind her.
*****************
Senna sighed as she read all the emails from her fellow teachers. She was happy that she got a raise and a promotion, but she didn’t realize that the teachers were so needy. Was it so hard to be creative in your own lessons instead of leeching off someone else’s teaching style? Asking for advice is one thing, but these teachers wanted her to design their entire lesson plans, as if she didn’t have her own classes to worry about. She tossed her glasses aside on her desk and rubbed her eyes.
“Senna Teacher?” She heard a voice in the distance.
She looked up and it was one of her former students. She smiled and waved for him to come in. He had been one of her top students last year but sadly he was placed with a different teacher this semester. His mom pleaded to have him switched back but to no avail.
“What is it, Ji Soo?” She smiled.
He sat in the chair next to hers. “My mom heard about your promotion.” He began.
“She read the weekly newsletter?”
He nodded. “She thinks that now you might be able to get me into your class.”
Another stress was forming. She couldn’t figure out what the big deal was. Yes, the other teachers had become lazy, but they were all good teachers when it counted. “Why is being in my class so important?”
He took a deep breath and played with his hands but stayed quiet.
Senna stared at him for a moment. She realized that his mood has quickly turned into anxiety. “You know I’m here for you. You can tell me anything!”
He nodded. “I know.” He inhaled deeply, working up the courage to spill his fears until the door flung open.
“Senna, did you read my email?” One of the teachers barged in.
Ji Soo immediately stood to walk out.
Senna grabbed his arm and noticed that he winced a bit. “Wait, we’re not done talking!”
He shook his head quickly and ran for the door. “I have a class to catch.” He gave her a small smile and went on his way.
The other teacher lifted an eyebrow. “Who knew middle school kids would be so weird.” She giggled.
Senna clasped her hands together as her mind replayed his expression when she had grabbed his arm. Something didn’t feel right.
“Senna!” The other teacher halfway yelled. “Are you okay?”
She nodded and inhaled deeply. “Yes, I read your email, Carrie. I’ll send you one of my lesson plans from last semester.”
Carrie dashed to her and wrapped her arms around her. “You’re such a lifesaver! Now maybe the kids won’t think my class is so boring anymore. I’m glad you’re over the English Department now.” She rushed out.
Yeah, so you can use me for my materials. Senna thought to herself.

Senna keyed in the code to her apartment. As she walked in, she noticed her best friend sprawled out on the couch. She must’ve had a long day at work too.
“Kaya?” She called a few times.
Finally, she opened her eyes. “I’m gonna quit my job!”
Senna laughed as she grabbed a bottle of water out the fridge. “You say that every day.”
“I know but I mean it this time.” She also began to laugh.
Senna slouched onto the love seat. “What did your Mr. Kim do this time?”
“He’s exhausting! I took a half day today because of the concert tonight and boy did he have a problem with it.” Kaya began. “He thinks he’s the boss!”
Senna sipped her water. “But isn’t he?”
“Yes, but it’s not like I didn’t do all of my tasks before I left. He’s really just mad because I told him I had a date tonight.”
Senna burst into laughter. “Y’all are the strangest couple I have ever met! He’s not mad, he’s jealous.”
“We’re not that kind of couple. It’s physical, but we are NOT exclusive.” Kaya corrected her.
Senna rolled her eyes. “Call it what you want but y’all are a couple. You go on dates too so it’s not just physical.” Senna stood. “But before you try to argue with me, I’m gonna get showered and get ready for this concert.”
After a couple of hours, the two women met back in the living room.
**************
“Why are you moving around so much?” Kaya asked as she tried to still her friend. “Are you this nervous to see NCT?”
Senna rolled her eyes. “No, I have to pee like crazy!” She wiggled some more.
They were the first group to go into the venue hall because they had paid for VIP tickets, and they were dead smack in the front/middle.
“Well go! Don’t just stand there.” Kaya pushed her towards the exit. “I’ll stay so that we don’t lose our spots.”
Senna rushed out trying to find a restroom. She noticed that the sign on the restroom read “out of order”. She huffed. Noooooooo! She groaned to herself.
She ran to the elevators and figured the next floor may have a restroom available. She crossed her legs tight as the elevator moved. Once it stopped, she dashed towards the opening doors not expecting anyone to be standing there. She and the person both tumbled to the ground. When she opened her eyes, she thought she was dreaming. Big, dark brown eyes were staring down at her; although handsome, she could tell that the grimace on his face was evidence that he wasn’t happy. She cleared her throat and pushed him off of her a bit too roughly.
Taeyong dusted himself as he picked himself off the floor. “Rude!” He yelled a bit.
Senna, already running off, yelled that she was sorry and disappeared down the hallway. She wished that she didn’t have to pee so bad because otherwise she would have at least checked if he was okay, but she didn’t even have a chance to fangirl over him. She guessed her life’s luck had finally run out.

Lovers and Friends
(A Victon/A.C.E mashup story)
Tumblr media
“Hey! I do not act like that!” Dior proceeded to say as she hit Donghun’s arm a bit too hard. Sometimes she’d forget her strength.
He immediately rubbed where his arm was stinging. “Why so violent?” He pouted.
“Well stop impersonating me the wrong way and you won’t have to worry about it.” She winked at him & sent him a finger heart.
Naomi chuckled a bit. “You do sometimes tend to overreact sis.” She sided with Donghun.
“Whose sister are you again?” Dior eyed her carefully holding her broken heart.
“Yours but that’s how you are. Remember when I accidentally burnt the popcorn on movie night, and you freaked out as if I had burned the entire apartment down?”
Dior cleared her throat in embarrassment. “In my defense the microwave could’ve blown up.”
“Our point exactly, you overreact. No microwave is going to blow up because of burned popcorn.” Donghun finished.
The entire table burst into laughter.
Jun rubbed Dior’s back. “You’re our drama queen, but we love you for it.” He gave her an innocent smile.
“I’m starting to think I picked the wrong group of friends when I moved to Korea.” Dior crossed her arms and pouted.
Chan snickered a bit, then his attention drifted. “Is that Chan from Victon?” He spoke aloud to himself.
Everyone’s attention followed his gaze.
Dior stiffened a bit. “My achy Victon heart!” She fangirled for a quick moment.
Donghun raised an eyebrow. “I forgot you’re a Victon fan too.”
“I dare you to go say hello!” Naomi winked.
Dior shook her head quickly. “You know I don’t roll like that. They’re trying to have dinner just like us, I don’t want to be impolite. Unlike those little girls right there who are definitely heading to their table.”
“Didn’t stop you from talking to us at the café when you visited here last year! What’s the difference?” Donghun interceded.
Dior rolled her eyes. “I said sorry for bumping into you and making you spill your coffee a little bit, and that was all. You continued a conversation and proceeded to take a seat at our table. So really you interrupted our coffee date.”
“Burn!” Sehyoon spoke as he looked up from his phone.
“Chan!” Chan yelled a bit across the room.
The other Chan immediately jumped out of his seat and headed over. “I thought it was you, but I wasn’t for sure. What’s up, man?”
“Just chilling. Had an early practice today so we wanted to go out for beer and fried chicken.” Chan replied.
Chan smiled. “Us too. I should be sticking to my diet since we have a comeback soon but you know how hard that is.”
Dior’s unique sneeze stole the attention. She immediately apologized and covered her face in embarrassment.
“Don’t be sorry.” Chan told her and pulled her hand down. “Everyone sneezes.” He chuckled.
She blushed a bit. Not because she was into him but more because he was so polite. “Thank you.” She said quietly.
“Do I know you?” He asked her as he stared.
Naomi coughed a bit. “Fansign.” She spoke under her breath.
Chan covered his mouth in amazement. “You were at the busking and then we had an impromptu fan meeting, right? Both of you, right?”
Donghun stared over at Dior. This was news to him. He was in shock.
“That was definitely us.” Naomi answered for her sister who seemed to be either deaf or mute.
Chan smiled at Naomi brightly. “I never forget beautiful faces.”
Jun’s eyes widened. “Wow. You’re strangely straightforward.” He looked from Naomi to Chan.
“Well, we almost had to drag Hanse away from you.” His eyes landed on Dior.
She was in the middle of taking a sip of her cocktail and nearly died from choking.
Donghun immediately patted her back. “You okay?”
She began to cough wildly. “I need to go to the restroom. Come Naomi.”
They removed themselves from the table quickly and was out of sight.
Chan watched them walk away. “Did I say something wrong?”
Donghun just eyed him for a minute. “What did you mean before?”
“Hanse thought she matched him well. No big deal.” Chan chuckled.
“But she’s just a fan, right?” Donghun concluded. “He does that kind of thing all the time, right?”
Chan raised an eyebrow. “No. She’s a woman. He is a man. I guess he liked her, but it is not every day that you find someone that your spirit flows well with, maybe that’s how he felt. I don’t know. I’m not him.”
Donghun laughed a bit. “He met her one time and felt something like that? Sounds like a playboy to me.” He said the last bit under his breath.
Chan cleared his throat. “Well I’m sure my members are waiting on me. Good talking to everyone.” He walked back to his table.
  Chan
Chan immediately took a sip of his beer when he sat back down at the table with the rest of his members.
Seungwoo eyed him for a moment. “That was a long conversation.” He smiled trying to break the ice.
“Yeah, kind of weird too.” Chan admitted but didn’t add anything more.
Hanse eyed the table as the ladies made their way back. He didn’t say a word though.
Tumblr media
Chan noticed his gaze and prayed that he wouldn’t ask about that girl or even notice that it’s her.
Hanse looked across the table at Chan. “What made it so weird?”
Chan slurped his noodle into his mouth and held Hanse’s gaze. He took a deep breath before answering. “They’ve come to one of our fansigns before. That’s all.”
Hanse raised an eyebrow. “I know. I was just waiting for you to say it.”
“You remember them?” Seungwoo asked in shock.
“How could I forget her?” Hanse laughed. “She’s different than most fans.”
Chan groaned a bit. “How so?”
“She acted like I was nobody important. Talked to me like I was just an ordinary guy that she just happened to run into.” Hanse’s eyes drifted off into space as if he was reminiscing.
Seungsik snapped his fingers in his face. “Don’t do anything reckless. Just because she’s here and you’re here doesn’t mean that this is some kind of fate, okay?”
Hanse looked over at his leader. “I know. You don’t have to worry. I’m not that careless.” He gulped the rest of his beer and sat the bottle back down loudly.
Seungsik took a deep breath. “I didn’t mean it like that. I just can’t see you getting hurt. She’s a fan and you’re Hanse from Victon. That’s probably all she sees when she looks at you. Unfortunately, that is all our fate. Unfair, right?”
Hanse tucked his bottom lip into his mouth but didn’t respond.
The entire table went silent as they all thought about Seungsik’s words. The revelation was like someone had taken a pin out of a grenade and let it go off in their hearts.
Chan gave Hanse a half smile. “But maybe there is hope, I mean they seem really close to the ACE members. I think they’re all friends.”
Hanse chuckled a bit. “I’m okay Chan, you don’t have to try to find the light at the end of the tunnel for me. Sometimes there is just darkness and I’m okay with that. Thank you though.”
  Donghun
“Excuse me, can I get another beer?” Donghun asked the server.
The lady nodded and hurried away from the table.
Dior giggled. “So you wanna get lit or LIT?” She asked her best friend.
He chuckled and laid his head over on her shoulder. “I had a long day, don’t you think I deserve another beer?”
“This will be your third though.” She patted his face.
“One more please?” He had turned on the embarrassing aegyo.
She rolled her eyes. “You’ve already ordered it now, how can I say no? That would be a waste of the servers time.” She laughed as she nudged him.
Jun turned his chair around to face Naomi. “So about this fansign. I thought you only come to ours?”
Naomi burst into laughter. “Why would you think that?”
“You never mention going to others.” Jun’s eyes were spilling with jealousy.
“I didn’t know I had to tell you everywhere I go.” Naomi winked.
He held his heart. “That hurts. I’m man enough to admit that I’m a bit jealous. I really thought I was your best friend.”
Naomi squeezed his cheeks. “You are. My very best friend. Best friends forever!”
“Well don’t go places I don’t know about, okay?” He eyed her seriously. Now he was the one overreacting.
Tumblr media
“Yessir.” She smiled. She loved how protective he was over her.
Jun tapped her shoulder. “And don’t hang out with other men if I’m not around.”
Naomi raised an eyebrow. “Well how can I date if you’re always around? No one will want me.” She giggled.
“We have a pact anyway, that if neither of us can find someone within the next two years to love us then we’ll just marry each other. We’ll be okay.” He chuckled.
Dior and Donghun burst into laughter.
“Are ya’ll kidding?” Donghun asked.
“No. If I don’t find a girl to really love me then I’m going to force Naomi into being my best friend/wife.” Jun answered quickly.
Naomi didn’t like the sound of being forced into a marriage but it was Jun and he was a great guy so she really didn’t have much to lose, but still not marrying for love was weird either way. “He’s joking.” She smiled.
Jun shook his head quickly. “You think I am.”
Dior just watched them silently as they argued back and forth about this ridiculous arranged marriage ideology.
Victon walked past the table to leave the restaurant.
“See you next time, Chan. We really have to link up one of these days!” Chan (ACE) spoke to the other Chan.
Chan nodded. “For sure. Just say when and I’ll come running.” He smiled.
The other guys acknowledged the table with a small bow.
Dior’s eyes immediately found Hanse’s. Sure, enough his eyes had been glued on her. He gave her a small smirk and nod. That alone had her heart beating like a drum.
She began to fan and took a sip of her iced water.
Donghun placed the back of his hand to her forehead and cheeks. “You’re not getting sick, are you?”
“What- why would you ask that?” She focused on him curiously. He was so random at times.
Donghun pursed his lips together. “You started fanning and then sipping water as if you were hot. I thought maybe you were coming down with a fe-, never mind.”
She smiled at him. “Thank you for being my little protector. Nothing goes unnoticed with you.” She tapped his chin and giggled.
He patted her leg and watched Victon walk out of the restaurant. Something felt unsettling to him but for now he would keep his cool. “What are best friends for?”

Something New
Tumblr media
Chapter 21
Jae pulled up into a large apartment complex. He killed the engine and grabbed Sasha’s hand to kissit gently.
She looked around her surroundings. She felt a bit on edge. It had been a silent drive & he insisted on surprising her with something. Surprises gave her anxiety.
“Who lives here?” She raised an eyebrow. “I’m not really in the mood for company.” Sasha sighed.
Jae chuckled lightly. “Well get in the mood.” He opened the drivers side & hurried around to catch the door for her. “Stop pouting and come on!”
She rolled her eyes. “It’s just amazing to me that you’ve been hella busy for two weeks straight. We’ve barely seen each other yet you want to bring me to some random person’s house to hang out. Shouldn’t this day be about me since you finally have the time?”
Jae cleared his throat. He wasn’t in the mood for arguing. “Can you just please get out? I promise this will be a good day.”
She pulled the lipstick out of her purse to refresh her lips. “You owe me.”
She pushed past him as she stepped out the vehicle & walked ahead of him.
He jogged behind to catch up with her. “I can’t hold your hand?”
“You could have if you had have made this day about me. Oh well.” She crossed her arms. Sure she was being a brat but she really had missed him. He would have early mornings and late nights. By the time he’d make it to his mom’s house, they’d both be tired. And that was when he paid his mom’s house a visit.
They took the elevator up to the ninth floor.
“Let me guess this is one of your rich childhood friend’s home?” She asked with a attitude.
Jae shrugged. “I wouldn’t say rich.”
Sasha smirked. “Look at you being modest.”
The elevator dinged. Jaehyun led the way to the correct apartment.
905
He keyed a code in which unlocked the door.
“And why do you have the code to someone else’s apartment?” This whole day was getting weirder and weirder.
Jae simply laughed and pulled her into the apartment.
Tumblr media
She was amazed at the decor. Whoever lived there had great taste or paid someone else who had great taste.
“Wow!” She spinned slowly to get a good view of the entire front room. “Who lives here, Jae?”
“We do.” A familiar voice sounded from the far left near the steps.
Sasha whipped around fast to see Ivy and Johnny leaning against the stairs. “Well done Johnny!” She clapped.
Ivy giggled. “I don’t think you understand. . .”
Sasha raised an eyebrow. “How hard is it to understand that Johnny got y’all a nicer place?”
Jaehyun grabbed her hands. “Babe, this is all of our place.” He had the biggest grin on his face.
Sasha looked around the living room once again. “Huh?” She was dumbfounded.
“Me and Johnny decided that we’d invest in a home that would be big enough for all of us. There’s four bedrooms plus a den.” Jae couldn’t stop smiling. Although part of him was scared she was going to shoot this idea down.
“Our bedrooms are down here. Ours on this side and yours across there.” Ivy pointed across the living room.” “And two extra bedrooms upstairs. One for Hendrix and-“
Sasha cleared her throat. “Don’t finish that sentence because I know where you’re going with it. I’ve come to the realization that I’m not having kids and I’m finally at peace with it.”
“I just have hope for you, sis.” Ivy pulled her into a hug.
Sasha forced a smile out. “Let that dream go. Plus you’ll have more that I can love on all the time.”
Johnny began to choke. “Oh God no. Not any time soon. Henny is enough!”
Ivy slapped his chest. “We’ll have more right now if I say so!” She yelled at him.
Johnny’s eyes widened. “Yes ma’am.” He answered with sarcasm.
“So are you in?” Jae asked with hesitation.
Sasha thought for a moment. “Do I really have a choice? This ring sort of bounds me to you. I go where you go.” She giggled. “Plus this apartment is Bomb!”
Ivy squealed. “Isn’t it?! They did so good with picking it out. I was shocked.”
“Who decorated?” Sasha asked as she eyed the two men.
“Us!” Johnny & Jae both answered at the same time.
Ivy burst into laughter. “Now the truth!”
“Well we hired someone but we gave her the vision and she brought it to life.” Johnny finally admitted.
Jae smirked. “So therefore we did it.”
Sasha rubbed his face. “Sure you did, babe.”
Brianne
Brianne walked the streets of Seoul, just to familiarize herself with the surroundings. She hadn’t fully decided to move there yet but she did have a couple of interviews lined up there. She figured it couldn’t hurt to check things out. She had missed her friends and maybe being closer to them would make her life better.
The sun was finally starting to set. She could smell the strong aura of fresh coffee beans being grounded. She squinted her eyes to see if she could find where the scent was coming from.
Bella Café
“Perfect!” She ran across the street to get to the entrance. It was winter so a hot cup of coffee was the perfect pair to this cold weather. As she stepped inside it wasn’t many patrons. She didn’t mind though. She just wanted to sip her coffee in peace.
“What can I get for you?” The guy at the register asked.
Brianne scanned over the menu. “I know I want some of that lemon cake, and maybe a vanilla latte?”
The guy smiled. “Cold or hot?”
“Definitely hot.” She inhaled the scent some more. She loved the way coffee made her feel. It put her in her happy place.
He gave her the total and waited for her to fetch her money out of her purse.
A male’s voiced spoke in korean from behind her as she noticed him hand the cashier a credit card.
Brianne turned around slowly. She knew the voice but thought maybe she was simply dreaming. “Taeil?” She whispered almost praying that he didn’t hear it.
He gave her his pure smile. “In the flesh.”
She was stunned. He looked the same. Nothing had changed. Still as handsome as she remembered. Still as sweet and humble as she remembered. Emotions began to crash into her like a bowling ball searching for pins.
“Shall we sit? Or are you leaving?” He asked with that same smile.
She wondered how in the world could he smile at her the way he was when she had shattered his heart years ago. “S-sure.” She grabbed her cake and drink and took a seat in a far corner.
“You must be visiting the girls?” He asked.
Bri took a deep breath. “Sort of. I also have interviews here. I’m contemplating on moving here.”
Taeil nodded and looked away. “It’s funny. I wanted you to come here with me and nothing worked. Now years later you’re here. It’s just funny.” His voice trembled a bit.
Brianne sipped her coffee. “I’m not the same girl I was back then. I was selfish.” She admitted.
He shrugged her statement off. “I get it. You wanted to live your life. . .without me.”
“I needed to live my life without you.” She voiced. “I know that sounds cruel but I needed to know who I was without anyone. I went from being in love with my best friend to realizing he would never love me the way I needed him to. Then he fell for my close friend and then you came along and pieced me partially back together but it wasn’t enough. I needed to find myself, and love me before I could let anyone else do it.”
Taeil seemed a bit taken back. “You were in love with Jaehyun? I never knew.”
“We grew up together and he always protected me so I guess over time I grew emotionally attached so when he left out of nowhere it was hard for me to cope; and when he came back it was even harder because he giving Sasha all the attention & I felt like he’d left me in his past.” Bri admitted. “Senior year was hard for me. I know I never said it but I felt it.”
Taeil stared at her for a moment. “Well every year after that has been hard for me. I’m glad you found yourself though.” He stood to leave.
Bri caught his arm. “I don’t want you to leave like this.” She wiped the tears from her face.
“You don’t need me. It’s time that I accept it.”
She shook her head. “I didn’t tell you all of that for you to feel neglected or useless in my life. I told you that because you needed to know the truth. If I hadn’t have experienced life without you, I wouldn’t understand how precious life is with you, Taeil.”
His eyes were glistening from years threatening to escape. He covered his face.
She pulled him into a hug. “Believe me I’ve missed you, Taeil.”
“For what it’s worth, I am glad you’re doing well for yourself.” He rubbed her shoulder softly.
She gave him a small smile. “Thank you. Let’s not go years without speaking again.”
He simply nodded.

She tossed and turned all night. She had broke out in a cold sweat. Her stomach felt sick all of a sudden. Had to have been that takeout from earlier. She ran to the bathroom and sat in front of the toilet. Her stomach was turning flips.
Jaehyun rolled over & noticed that the bed was empty on her side. “Babe?” He called out in a groggy tone.
She whined a bit. “Jae do you have anything for an upset stomach?”
He jumped out of bed quickly. “Ginger ale?” He sang thru the closed door.
She pulled herself off the floor and opened the bathroom door. “Will you fix me some?”
“Of course!” He rushed out the room.
Her phone pinged. It was a notification from her period tracker app.
Did you forget to input your period?
Your period is seven days late.
She stared at the screen for what seemed like forever.
Jae stood over her reaching the glass out to her. “Babe, you good?” The expression on her face was as if she’d seen a ghost.
She simply nodded in silence.
