Possible Seizures, help needed
Hey guys, I’m currently in a flare with my hypermobile disorder. I am still not diagnosed with EDS yet, even though ive seen five doctors and two physical therapists who all say I have it and that Im the worst case theyve ever seen. However, with this flare I have started to get new symptoms and I need some help. I know this is not a diagnostic tool and I dont plan on using it as such, I really just need support and to know I’m not alone.
The other day, I took a small hike while in a flare. I know I shouldn’t have, but I figured if I just pushed my body harder it would just result in more pain. But on the way back, I started feeling really weird. I felt nauseous and like i was going to pass out. My vision started blacking out and I could barely think. I felt clumsy. By the time I got to the car I could not move or speak at all. I was trying to tell my body to move but it just wouldnt happen. My arm jerked occasionally, and I was in and out of it all the way home. i felt like i couldnt see even with my eyes open, but i do get migraines like that. i barely remember the ride. my boyfriend had to carry me to bed. I was sobbing. I started having really bad muscle spasms and eventually slept it off.
Someone in an EDS discord I’m in said this sounds like a seizure, but I’m not sure. I was partially/fully conscious, and I didnt have any lip smacking or picking/fidgetting symptoms. Ive been having muscle spasms this whole flare, so I don’t think that it was a grand mal or anything. The lack of ability to speak might just be my autism, the loss of the ability to move might have been my physical health condition, it might not have been neurological at all, other than the occular migraine. It also all lasted multiple hours and Im not sure if thats standard for seizure activity, usually its just a few minutes with a lot of fog surrounding it, right?
I am going to talk to a doctor about this TODAY but who says hes even going to do anything? no one else has. idk i just need help and support. if you have EDS and/or seizures please reach out with your experiences. I’m really scared.

Therian Question(ing)
I have a lot of thoughts going on right now, and I’m going to try to organize them the best I can. My questions will be at the bottom of this post. To preface, I am autistic and have trauma, both of which I know can lead to psychological therianthropy. I have been experiencing identity crises revolving being inhuman since I was young. I’ve been in and out of the furry community for years, but it’s never felt 100% right. Much love to them, ofc.
I experience phantom limbs frequently. 2 or 3 prong antlers, silver fox ears that extend from my own human ears, an animal-like nose. In certain positions while sitting or laying down, I feel phantom paw or tail sensations, which are also a silver fox. I’ve never experienced what I see called a “full shift.” When I am intoxicated, these feelings do get stronger, and also tend to bleed into how I express my emotions. I have been squinting/slow blinking to show joy and comfort since I was young. I often feel like I look like characters from Sweet Tooth-mostly human with strong animal traits. I feel like people *know* I’m different, but can’t see my antlers or ears.
Is it possible to have characteristics of multiple animals without having multiple theriotypes? Antlers are the only deer trait I have, and I feel them at the same time as the fox characteristics.
Can you be a therian if you don’t experience shifts, or only experience partial shifts? Is phantom limb a partial shift?
How do you embrace it? Are there coping skills? I know I’m a human, but I’m also NOT. How do I make myself more comfortable?
What is something you wish you knew going into identifying as a therian? What advice do you have for new therians?

Alex Hirsch: “hey, you know what would be funny?”
Disney: “What man?”
Alex: “Let’s make a character named Tad Strange, get Cecil Baldwin to voice him, and then make him the most normal character in the show.”
Disney: “holy shit.”

Symptoms of Hypermobile Syndrome* that I experience almost every day
*Waiting to see a geneticist about Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
-My kneecaps slide out of place when I climb stairs
-Slipped ribs from coughing, sneezing, or laughing.
-Being unable to lay on my left side for too long before my ribs and shoulder collapse in on themselves.
-Having to pop my elbows backwards in order to make them feel “in place.”
-Joints getting stiff and stuck if I don’t move them enough, especially my hands.
-Tendon pain near my groin due to my femur slipping around.
-Being able to pop my femurs back in place by laying on my back and flexing my glutes and thighs (only works if they have slipped towards my back, when they slip towards my sides I have no solution).
-Having to hold my trachea in place when I’m laying on my side because it slips off center and can make it hard to breathe and speak.
-My back and shoulder blades popping from breathing.
-Eye strain headaches (BVD caused by hypermobility).
-Fatigue, needing 10-12 hours of sleep a night.
-Not being able to stand for more than 5 minutes or walk for more than 10 without pain.
-Heart issues (suspected POTS), I can’t stand for long, stand up too abruptly, or be in warm temperatures without feeling like I will faint.
-I can unhinge my jaw with ease
-Weak ankles, I’m constantly rolling them.
-Taking 30 min to fall asleep every night because I’m trying to get and stay comfortable.
-A gallon weighs enough to pull my wrists and shoulders almost out of place. Almost.
-Muscle spasms around joints that are acting up that day.
-Pain and discomfort constantly.
Ultimately, it hurts to move, and it hurts to not move :)
