Real Life is Hard #22
We put both our cats on anti-depressants and now they don’t pee on our stuff! But we’re all pretty sleepy. XD

Hey friends! Here’s some of the new things I’ll be bringing to Canzine Toronto this Saturday! First is a small zine of some of the comics I’ve been posting here about depression. Second are some new 1” button designs. And third are these wood Witch Coffins I’ve painted. They open and you can use them to store small things! See you there!

We’re moving! September 30th Spencer and I are moving out of the city to the country. Not sure how long it’ll take for me to get my studio set up, but I’ll be back! <3

Last week (a couple weeks ago?) was International Cat Day. My college friend Jenni post a portrait of her cats as people, so I decided to give it a whirl. So here they are, my little old men, Dr. Boo and Whittaker. XD

Being married is exactly the same as our relationship before; only the past few weeks our farts have smelt similar and been extra potent. Gross. That’s love I guess.

Real Life is Hard #11
I’m the eldest of three kids, and even though I’m almost 30 most of my drive, confidence and self-worth is all wound up in what my parents want for me, what they think of me and their approval. My rational brain and my therapist, even my parents tell me this isn’t what they think. But my emotional brain, and years of looking back on comments and interactions with my parents tell me otherwise.  My relationship with them, as we get closer to my wedding, has been tense, and is currently a work in progress. I’m trying to not take their worrying as direct judgments of my life choices thus far, but it’s hard when all you want to do is take that worry away, even when you know that life path would make you miserable. So I made my own choices and I’m dealing with the consequences. Reality is, even if I listened to all of their suggestions, I’d probably be dealing with the same issues... on top of not being happy with my choices.
They read these. And I know they’re not going to like this one.
But it’s cathartic... and important... even if it makes me emotional.  And a little scared,
