Gear 5 evolution
I love how Oda shows that Gear 5 is getting more powerful. Not through how much destruction it causes, but that Luffy is now using other kinds of slapstick.
When fighting Kaido Luffy was using body/environment squish and strech (I have no idea what any of the terms I'm trying to use are). Growing in size, bouncing off the ground, turning Kaido into a balloon and jump rope, most of that fight had rubbery qualities to its gags, even the eye stretches can be categorized as stretching, as none truly fell out. (Ussop is able to do a similar thing with the wasabi grape, but that's a whole nother post and another reason for his godhood.)
Against the Gorosei though, he's turned them into paper (which is distinctly NOT rubber,) had all his scars blown off, and created a baseball bat and helmet with paint seeming out of nowhere!
Oda is making it so that Luffy can do anything to anyone so long as it'll get a laugh from us, and while I'm not qualified to do an analysis on that subtle 4th wall breaking. I for one can't until he does the ultimate attack and shoves Pies into all their faces!

I know nothing about coding, but would it have been possible for Vegapunk to slip the 'Bonney Protocol' past Saturn by putting it in the command structure under a different name?
Whenever someone gives the Pasifistas or Kuma orders they use those names, but Bonney called out for her 'daddy' to help her. Could that be the difference?
Like there were two separate files programmed into the Pasifistas, relating to the command structure but Saturn only looked at the one labeled 'command structure' and not '#1 dad'.

A pretty much self indulgent Husk Overlord AU where he gambled against Val, Husk wins and in exchange, he keeps his casino and Angel's contract is transferred to Husk ;) Oh yeah and they get RINGS!!!

If Kizaru didn't give Luffy the food, then there is only one other scenario I will accept.
That food was shot down from up high, by the crewmates on the Labophase.
Nami: Captains down and looks like grandpa! Ussop!
Ussop, standing at a giant slingshot filled with meat: Already got him in my sight! Firing in 3..2...

I can't wait until the tankoban of these chapters come out and people get to read these emotional gut punches one after the other without any time to process them in between.
People can complain about the schedule as long as they want, but I need those off weeks to properly be an adult without breaking down about the emotional devastation I just experienced.

tired: Campaign 3 is being unfairly rushed to wrap up and make way for a Daggerheart campaign.
wired: Campaign 3 is fast-paced, plot-heavy, and somewhat more on rails because it's intended to be the culmination of the plot points put into place in the previous two campaigns, which Matt has stated is a long-time dream of his to be able to do.
inspired: Matt is trying to pack as much possible plot into each day because he has no fucking idea what to do if Chetney dies in his sleep.

I did not finish the episode before reading this, so for about 3 days I was convinced the Stonky's ring was gonna do something important.
EVERYONE HAPPY WITH THE RESULT OF TONIGHT PAY TRIBUTE TO AABRIA IYENGAR!!!!
That ring came in real handy, and probably saved a whole lot of plot points.

imelda was from the get go supposed to be the femme fatale but that makes her quick marriage to lance even more important to me
the femme fatale is often characterized as a someone that draws the detective into a mess of shit that usually gives “self destructive”, and originally this is set up to be hunch as her connecting detective but LANCE MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE
hunch has his own arc, the detective taking himself more seriously, a detective who makes himself known and finally gets proper recognition. meeting imelda didn’t ruin his life, nor does he revolve around her storywise.
so imelda hits all other femme fatale beats and doesnt Need a male counterpart but we also get TROPES!! she, a wanted woman who is known to the police as a mad-woman who turned from an honest life to crime, meets a police captain (basically stand in chief of police currently) and immediately smooth talks circles around him. lance questions his boss, his job, and his life to chase after this sudden Excitement that he hadn’t allowed himself. literally, brennan says that lance has never felt so Alive.
imelda, the true version of femme fatale, finds her cynical and disillusioned “right side of the law” man, lance, and immediately they run together. then we learn that lance’s concerns is the reason that copper is so easily found in mentopolis doubling down on the “morally ambiguous” trope. she doesnt look at lance and go, actually dont be so wary of everyone, she (because she is impulse and because of how aware she is of the situation they are in) connects to him on his need to just Act.
imelda pulse is such a good femme fatale character and her moment with lance has lived in my head all this week. i cant wait to see how fast this marriage falls out once elias is no longer in that all or nothing space, though trauma, maybe they will stick together for a little longer than any of us are ready for.

If Saint Saturn is immortal, will Bonneys power even work on him? He can't age, but that's "natural" for him. SO to age him in any way I feel like her willpower would have to be greater than his.
I want it to not seem to do anything, but then he dies a week later from a heart attack or something because she restarted his aging.

I had no clue about the head, but it makes a lot of sense. They probably used it to not only have the actors hold, but also look at/ talk to in shots to they could get the best shot, plus the lighting wouldn't have to be fixed in post.
sorry can't talk still thinking about the one piece live action practical effects

Pluton theory
Pluton is not a ship! it's this guy.
Tumblr media
It was created over 900 years ago, right before the void century, and still works to this day. The government really wanted it destroyed. They would have known it was the ancient weapon because
When Franky was flipping through the Pluton blueprints at Enis Lobby, Kaku and Lucci both immediately recognized it at a distance. This is important because even if it was a ship, most ships would have similar shapes and thus blueprints. But a giant mecha and a ship look nothing alike!
Plus, going with the theory that the ancient weapons are sea, sky, and land based; we already have a sea weapon with Posidon. How is a ship supposed to help on dry land?
Which means that all the hints we've been getting that Franky has been building Pluton are correct, but it's not the Sunny that is Pluton. IT'S GENERAL FRANKY!!
Tumblr media
We'll probably get confirmation of this soon, as Frankey would Definitely recognize the robot when it gets out of the scrap heap.

I don't like how the live-action handled the ending the ending of Arlong Park, especially the "reason" for why Luffy has a bounty.
Nezumi is the one who orders it as a act of revenge, but why does he want revenge? Nami is the one who hit him on the head. And Arlong is the one who attacked baratie which is as equally responsible for bringing Garp to his Island. Luffy did nothing to him.
Is Nezumi even allowed to issue bounties anymore? It was implied that Garp was investigating him for corruption like he did Morgan, and if he wasn't why did he allow Nami to hit him like that? Seeing how quickly that guy was stung up, I don't think Garp would give him the chance to order dinner, much less a bounty.
What I think should have happened is that like in the manga; Nezumi comes in after the fight, claiming that he will take credit for bringing down Arlong. But while Luffy is beating him up for being a douche Garp comes in, yells at him that he goes so far as to beat up a captain and they fight. It reaches the same conclusion. Once finished Nami gets to hit Nezumi again, but instead of just staring blankly at Garp she just says that he should check his division's finances. Garp replies that they are already looking into it.
The next day Koby stops by to deliver the bounty poster, saying It was Garp to ordered it. Both a present to his Grandson and a warning of the consequences of his actions. I think that would wrap up the marine side plot better and actually give it some significance, rather than just Koby/Helmeppo character development.
