Like yes some of what he did I can maybe understand but have people actually read the books? Do they not understand what he's done which is so awful and unforgiving? For example; him sening Genya off to work with the Queen at 11- the work where she was constantly sexually harassed and assaulted by the king- how the fuck can people still like the darling after that? And don't say he wouldn't have known, there were rumours anyway about her and the king and the darkling knows a lot - it's so fucked up.

Also his emotional manipulation of Alina, Zoya and others who were under his protection alone is unforgivable. He knew grisha were drawn to him as he was an amplifier but used that for his gain. He took people who were delicate and used their fears and hope to twist their behaviour so they would do what he wanted to.

And it's not romantic that he kept trying to get Alina back - he wanted her power, if he truly loved and wanted her - he wouldn't have done all he did because for a moment he had her but he lost it because of his greed and power hungry self.

If I hear one person defending him in the comments I will genuinely be concerned for your mental state.
