Today, I learned an important lesson from my therapist.

At the end of our hour, she told me that although I’ve been hurt and broken badly, she can see I still have parts that aren’t shattered. 

I laughed lightly and I said “Yeah, one day that will be all of me, no parts shattered anymore”,

And she said “No, it won’t.”

And, for a second, I felt my heart break - but she continued.

“But it will be the most dominant part of you. Think of your body - if you break your shoulder, even after it heals it will be tender. It will be a sore spot. You will be careful with it. There will be a gentleness when you care for it. If you crack a rib, laughing will hurt and, even after there is no longer a fracture, you may laugh lighter just in case. You can heal, but it is okay to be aware of the parts of you that once hurt the most. The most important thing to know is that where there is tenderness, let there be gentleness.”

Should You Include Your Advice in Tarot Readings?

(I apologize for the formatting, my dyslexia has been very difficult as of late, so large paragraphs are just bricks to me.)

This is a question that I didn’t even think about until I saw a post by @my-witchinghour (post here, tagged with permission) about not giving unsolicited advice.

When I do free readings on here, I often add advice along the lines of what the cards point towards, especially if I feel like my interpretation was pretty vague. Sometimes (one reading in twenty) I will add my own advice before I dive into the reading just to clear my head before I do the card drawing.

The reason I do this is because I would feel like I’m just drawing cards and relaying answers, not doing any form of interpretation or adding anything to the reading. I sometimes feel like one of those free “insert question, receive answer” tarot apps. Or a gumball machine that doesn’t require money.

However, as brought up in the post I referenced and the notes, some people don’t go to tarot readers for the reader’s advice and they just want an interpretation of the cards.

This is absolutely valid!

Tarot readers do their readings differently, and that’s great because it would be boring for the querent if every tarot reader was the exact same as the last.

So I want to open the floor to discussion. I’m curious about other people’s takes on the concept of “advice and interpretation versus interpretation only.” Please be respectful on this post, we’re all here to listen to one another on this topic!

Sometimes the Universe, spirits or however you wanna call it, will show you that there are more options out there for you so you can move on.

Tarot Tip🔮

A friend of mine, suggested that, before doing a reading for a client, you can do this:

Ask the cards how are you feeling today. Pull as many cards as you need. Then, leave those cards you've pulled aside from your deck and proceed with the reading for your client. This way, you're physically putting aside your current state so it doesn't interfere or affect the reading in any way.
