Athena froze, trying not to alert them to her sudden unsureness. May seeking comfort from her she could sort of understand, because May was one kid, a rarity. Two kids felt less like a rarity.
Athena had spent so much time and effort making herself as formidable as possible. Someone who was an immovable and even deadly force when necessary. Someone that no one, under any circumstances would want to mess with. She had no idea why anyone would seek her out for comfort, protection sure, but never comfort. Generally no one did, aside from May. Usually the others went to each other or Bobby for comfort, and they were right to. For all that Bobby believed his hands would always be stained with blood, they were still far gentler than hers could ever be.

#literally so many of these lmaoooo#I promise my life isn’t as crazy as this is gonna make it sound#multiple natural disaster: multiple large hurricanes#literally in a forest as it was on fire around me one time#blizzard? idk if that counts but yeah#mild earthquake#tornadoes#flash flooding not during a hurricane#been attacked by a bird: I have a scar from being attacked and bit by ducks at the zoo when I was 5#cartoonishly evil family member: not gonna get into that (it’s better now)#medical anomaly: idk if this one counts bc they’re pretty sure they knew what was wrong with me#but I did set several records at different hospitals for being by far the youngest ever with those conditions#parents know niche celebrities: I can’t specify for legal reasons lmao#but they’re names that pretty much everyone would know#almost drowned several times despite knowing how to swim#I’m actually a shockingly amazing swimmer#like im not trying to brag but I literally have to be bc I work in a sometimes dangerous aquatic environment and do emergency rescues#said job is also how I’ve drowned several times#it happens in my field#it is what it is lol#I love my job tho 😌🥰

Hey guys, so we know that Luke didn’t literally cut a slice through the protective veil in the books. It makes me wonder if maybe that’s going to have something to do with how the veil and Thalia’s tree are hurt in the show’s version of Sea of Monsters. If so, I feel like Luke specifically using backbiter as a way to cut through the veil and arguably Thalia at the same time that Annabeth catches him in the betrayal is just so much more devastating than the way it’s done in the books. Like, he really betrayed them both in one single act. With a sword named Backbiter.
