Hey, your Link and dragons art does not seem to be on redbubble anymore. Did you change platform? I'd love it as a phone case.
oh thanks! Yeah I get this question sometimes, so I'll answer it here. It was up for a little while, but it got taken down on redbubble, they didn't want me to put my zelda fanart on there. :( Perhaps I'll end up applying some of my work to their program that allows fanart if it's licensed, but I haven't looked into it yet since it's only certain properties. Thank you for asking, though.

x also, if you want a post with a LOT of text, lets say if you’re doing a visual novel or a discussion in some way, don’t be afraid of using the text posts! You can put as many pictures as you want in them, dispersed in the text blogging style.
x if you have a scroll format webcomic, there is not currently a simple way to get rid of spacing between images (believe me I’ve tried) and even if you did, most people look at your post through the dashboard and not your main page so if you managed to change it, no one will know. An unfortunate thing, but most people ignore bars in long format comics, as if they weren’t there.
x and on that note, there are a lot of people that love to read WORDS here, so don’t be afraid to make posts long! You can use your WORDS again, which is one of the best things about tumblr! In fact, tumblr will auto-hide long posts so you don’t even have to use the tag #longpost or use the (read-more) link anymore (which I admit, I still use, for nostalgia’s sake) Post your fiction! Write about your process! You can have a personality again!
x I see a lot of people worry that the only way to grow on tumblr is through fandoms, and that followers will only care about fanworks and not their own IP. But, you can make a clear boundary between your work and your fun side-stuff, so side-stuff stays fun by making side blogs! So make as many side-blogs as you want for reblogs, talking about fandoms, being silly, hootin and hollering about the political Anubis, etc, so you can keep your main blog as a clean and clear art portfolio (assuming you’re an artist, that is)
And I still do a lot of fanart to my main art account, because I draw stuff that is pretty beautiful that I want potential clients to see. But, I think it is worth it to niche down to a side blog if you really want to go ham into fandom minutiae sometimes, but don’t want to be held to the expectation that this is all you ever do, draw, or talk about.
okay my lil 2 cents for any new users here from twitter:
x graphics on tumblr look best at 540px width. if you post a full screen without adjusting the canvas size to reflect that width, it might look a little off. in my opinion, screens look better when they’re adjusted because you can play with framing more, but at the end of the day it’s entirely up to you!
x this is an old img posting guide but it’s still relative:
Tumblr media
x if you do photo sets, they’re going to look visually cleaner in a vertical format. you can freely move images before posting them to either sit on top of each other or side by side.
x there’s no algorithm here, the movement of content is entirely user driven, so if you like someone’s work please reblog it!
x if anyone else has anything to add, please feel free! 💕

Everyone’s been leaving twitter for tumblr and I’m so glad! Hello! it’s been a while! Not just because I haven’t been posting to tumblr in particular, but because I’ve been going through a lot of long covid for the past 5 months and have been just radio silent because of chronic fatigue.
Thankfully, I’m feeling a tiny bit better every day. Had my booster this week even, so I’m still fuuuuuuzzy but well enough I feel like posting some art I made a while back, but never posted to this site. It has a fun vibe :). (she’s from my comic, The Shapeshifter’s Wife, on Webtoon and Tapas ps, although her eyes usually aren’t glowing like that, but she is a witch, so it’s allowed.)

A recent poster I did for a book series (it’s the same series I drew for before, called Morn of Issareth by Sable Jak. It’s on the vella, a serialized webnovel with a lot of content for you if you like swords and wuxia and all that) This was a fun job that I think looked really cool, and had a fun time adding blood and grit to this post-battle scene.

Slowly coming out of a social media slumber. It was good for me to just not use my art account for a year, being real.

hey all, I’ve been pretty radio silent because there’s been just...a lot of art theft lately and it really kills your desire to post literally any art to the internet. Luckily I haven’t been hit with the latest blow (as far as I know) so I decided...well maybe this tumblr is OK because it’s been so long since I’ve updated it, so enjoy this little book nook.

remembered that I wanted to come back and polish this guy, so I did. He was just hanging out on my desktop for a couple of months there.

for those interested in cool indie film stuff!
One of my oldest friends is currently doing a crowdfunding for a documentary about a small farm in California and how it worked through the pandemic and wildfires -- some of the donation tiers include art made by yours truly, so if you're interested please check it out and reblog!

Apparently it’s Seto Kaiba’s birthday and like--sure I’ve drawn him before, at least once (more than once) so here’s a more spruced up version of a fanart I started before. Was going to do a whole set of yugioh boys that match the Yugi I made back in the day, never got around to it. But I got this far.
Anyway, happy birthday Kaiba, good luck with the dragon card wife.

A recent commission for the series “Bright Morn of Issareth” written by Sable Jak (this one is for Vol 3, and the space above our top swordsman was for the Title)
Her books are currently available on the Vella (which recently launched, and so if you get the app, it’ll give you some free purchases of stories, which is nice, and gives writers more options to make money off of their works) and it’s a sword wielding wuxia-inspired fantasy serial novel, so if you are into that sort of thing, go and check her works out. She worked in theater for forever writing screenplays so she’s well versed.

Recent book cover illustration for a job. The book itself is a wuxia style fantasy webnovel called “Bright Morn of Issareth” and it’s on fictionate or the Vella, when that comes out. The author is Sable Jak who’s had a long, seasoned writing career making theater stageplays, so if you’re looking for an indie book in this vein, she’s probably got you.

Do you/how much do you mind people using or taking inspiration from your designs for the starcon aliens? They're very cool and fun to draw but I don't want to use them without permission.
Oh! A great question to ask (thank you for asking), and for a project I haven’t thought about in a very long time. For this particular project, I was trying to stick as closely as I could to my interpretation of the original game, so I don’t really consider them my original designs, although I did switch up Captain Zelnick a bit and turned him into two people, I don’t consider Zelnick or Isamu OC’s.
Again, thanks for asking. I probably won’t be coming back to this project because while Star Control II has a special place in my heart, I just don’t have the time and I’m working on different stories now. So draw away, it’s a fun place to explore. Wish I could have finished it, but I had wicked bad carpal tunnel at the time, had to take like a year off of art during and around that time, and so unfortunately shelved that fancomic indefinitely.

Another go at this dragon. It’s back wing was eluding me, so I’m gonna try and see if doing it this way feels better. It’s got more of a bat-wing situation, and I’m kinda feeling it, probs going to polish it throughout the week.

Don’t remember if I showed the rough draft of this painting here or not, but this is the next phase of my Mermay painting in a corset top because honestly I think bikinis are kind of boring.
