I'm getting anxious for the season finale of the Buccaneers. This show started slow but got good as the episodes went on. There's so much I want. I need more seasons.
This show is like Bridgerton, the Gilded Age, Dickinson, and Reign (I only compare it to Reign because of 5 young women in a different country plus the contemporary music in a period show).
I love Conchita and Richard. I love Honoria and Mabel. Lizzie deserves all the best. Ginny... every time she's on, this is my reaction:
But I do think and hope she will come to her senses and give Tom Felton Wannabe (not the actor, the character) a cold meal of revenge.
Nan, Guy, and Theo: I actually want a throuple. I like her with both. I like Guy's and Theo's friendship. They do have love and respect for one another. The series of events and circumstances just sucked.
I'm stunned by the reveal of Richard and Miss Testvalley and even more with his mum.
Mrs St. George also deserves the best. F- her soon-to-be ex-husband.

I rewatched AHS: Coven last night and I just realized how Cordelia was describing Diana Bishop and Weavers in the All Souls Trilogy. Witches have their magical gifts but Weavers could do more because they see and interact with the threads of the universe. Diana's DNA showed she had the potential of all the gifts known to witchkind.
From A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness:
Miriam’s tiny, precise handwriting marched down the left side of the page, and the bars, some circled with red pen, marched down the right. “This is the genetic marker for precognition,” Matthew continued, pointing to the first circled smudge. His finger began slowly moving down the page. “This one is for flight. This helps witches find things that are lost.”
Matthew kept reeling off powers and abilities one at a time until my head spun.
“This one is for talking with the dead, this is transmogrification, this is telekinesis, this is spell casting, this one is charms, this one is curses. And you’ve got mind reading, telepathy, and empathy—they’re next to one another.”
“This can’t be right.” I’d never heard of a witch with more than one or two powers. Matthew had already reached a dozen.
“I think the findings are right, Diana. These powers may never manifest, but you’ve inherited the genetic predisposition for them.” He flipped the page. There were more red circles and more careful annotations by Miriam. “Here are the elemental markers. Earth is present in almost all witches, and some have either earth and air or earth and water. You’ve got all three, which we’ve never seen before. And you’ve also got fire. Fire is very, very rare.” Matthew pointed to the four smudges.
“What are elemental markers?” My feet were feeling uncomfortably breezy, and my fingers were tingling.
“Indications that you have the genetic predisposition to control one or more of the elements. They explain why you could raise a witchwind. Based on this, you could command witchfire and what’s called witchwater as well.”
“What does earth do?”
“Herbal magic, the power to affect growing things—the basics. Combined with spell casting, cursing, and charms—or any one of them, really—it means you have not only powerful magical abilities but an innate talent for witchcraft.”
Diana Bishop is the Supreme of ADOW/ALS.

The Fall of the House of Usher
Man, this show was wild. I loved seeing all the actors of the Flanaverse. I wished Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen were in it since it is his swan song with Netflix, but hey. Just because that deal is done doesn't mean he's gonna stop there.
All the actors were amazing but Carla Gugino took my breath away as Verna/the Raven. Such a fascinating character. She was like an Angel of Death mixed with the chaos of the Devil. A force of Nature that no one could capture.
I feel the most bad for Morella. She married into their family, got disfigured unknowingly by her brother-in-law and husband, then was tortured and mutilated by the latter, and would lose the one good thing that came out of their union: Lenore. I almost screamed when I saw Kyleigh again (loved her as Abra).
Edit: I just had a thought. What if Verna was a version of Ligeia? If you know, you know. I believe Verna is more primordial, but that popped into my head recently.

Just a preview of what I'm working on. If I get 50+ likes by this week, I'll post it this week. The fanfic takes place right after Jed and Ben reunite after the former was believed to be dead.
They were in a room full of wounded but healing students but Jed and Ben didn't care. They were wrapped in each other's embrace. Jed had died but was given a second chance. There would be no wasting it this time.
Ben lost his family and his love. He had lost Jed a few hours ago and wondered how he would live and love. But the werewolf was back in his arms, kissing him. He was free from his father and his curse. He could finally live and love on his own terms.
"Not to interrupt you two," said a recovering Alaric behind them. "You sure you guys wouldn't mind any privacy?" He gave them an apologetic smile.
The two noticed some of the students looking at them. There was no judgment. They all had nearly faced death together. Some had heard of Jed's past status and were glad he was back in the land of the living.
Jed chuckled. "Yeah, that's a good idea."
Ben looked at Jed. "Your room or mine?"
"I have a better idea." Jed smiled and took Ben by the arm as they ran out of the room.
We all know where they're going.

Some have a problem with Ariel killing Ursula instead of Eric. I have a problem with the fact that there was no scene of Eric showing Ariel how to maneuver a ship. That could have been a big part of their bonding scenes. I might be even madder if it's a deleted scene as it should have just been in the 2-hour and 15-minute end result.
That also might be the case for Ariel's sisters. (I don't care if they didn't have a big role in the cartoon. I also came for Simone Ashley).
Don't even get me started on the costumes. Halle looks more like Ariel on the red carpets of the movie premiere.
I dead-ass feel like her stylists are throwing shade at Disney. Kind of like they're saying "This is what you should have done with all your billions of dollars." I'm kind of here for it.

Costume designs I did of Halle Bailey as Ariel back in 2020. I never posted them here but I felt like they needed to be on this blog too. They are posted in sequential order of when they’d appear in the story;
she starts out a mermaid, the next design is the “shipwreck dress” made by scuttle, followed by her dinner dress and nightgown. The next costume is the rumored “pants look” she wears for horseback riding in the live action film, followed by her “Kiss The Girl” dress. Next up is a ballgown for another new scene in the live action film, followed by the seafoam dress King Triton creates for her, followed by her wedding dress. I hope you enjoy!
