A small something I wrote a while ago that just sits in my drafts💕

He watched from the corner of the café, out of the window, as she strode with great confidence, which was quite clearly radiating off of her, as she took her normal route that she followed every morning. The mannerisms that she portrayed were a clear stereotype of people in the city, busy, distracted and clearly had somewhere better to be as opposed to fighting through the busy streets to arrive at her final destination. However, something about her broke the stereotype, it wasn't clear what it was but she gave out an abnormality that changed the tension and aura around her. Let's just settle on the fact that city she lived in would be very difficult if she wasn't there to change the way that it functioned. The homeless man that everyone ignored, she tipped and the things that went unnoticed got noticed by her and appreciated. Yet, she was one of the things that went unnoticed and unappreciated by the world around her even though she changed it for the better.

He continued observing her everyday like he did for past few months. Every time he saw her through the window she appeared to be accomplished but still striving for more, yet something was off about her on a certain day. The aura previously mentioned altered and he had a gut feeling that it wasn't going to be his usual routine in watching her. As she was on the route she took every day something changed, she took a sharp left and crossed the road toward the café he was in and he looked down as the bell on the door jingled signalling a new customer has entered the quaint shop.

As she ordered he noticed her voice was different to how he imagined it to be. He thought it would be soft but would have a hint of a demanding tone within it. He thought it would be velvety almost as if you could feel the texture because of the soft sound that it would give out. He was wrong; It was hoarse, like she had been screaming for hours which in itself made the feeling in his gut more unsettling. However, it was quiet and almost represented an oxymoron to how she stood and looked to others. Once he realized he had been staring he averted his eyes back to his lap as they were when she first entered the room. But the only thing is this didn't stop her from noticing his eyes burning into her sides just seconds before. He fiddled with his hands under the table which made her giggle slightly as it was a clear signal to her that he was anxious.

What happened next shocked the man as he did not expect to hear a small greeting from the woman he had been watching. He raised his head slightly meeting her gaze, returning the greeting and gesturing with his hand for her to sit in the seat across from him. They stayed like that for a while, telling each other about themselves and their lives. Little did she know he already knew most of the things she was confessing, but that didn't stop him from listening attentively to every small detail. He knew there would be things he missed while observing and learning about her over the past few months. After all she was very important to him she almost became part of the soul that he couldn't live without.

He knew she grew up with very little family and few people around her. So when she spoke about this detail he nodded and gave her a sympathetic smile. This was because he grew up

with little family too and understood the pain she went through that pain being loneliness. When she spoke to the stranger she felt the void being filled, which was odd to her because she's never felt this way before throughout her whole life. He didn't want to scare her by admitting the truth but he couldn't sit here much longer holding in his secret. She deserved him in her life now that was getting more hectic ,as it does when you reach mid twenties. He was waiting for the perfect opportunity to tell her but it was seeming like it would never come.

A comfortable silence arose in the conversation and they just looked at each other, an odd sort of love could be felt between them. Not a passionate type of love that would be felt between you and a partner, but the type of love you would feel with someone you was extremely comfortable with and were very close to. He thought this was the perfect opportunity to tell her what had been holding in for so long. He took a big breath in filling his lungs and breathing out a heavy sigh along with it. She looked at him curiously after this action almost questioning him as to what was wrong, but without using words just looking at him, the question could be read from her eyes. This is when he said the thing that would change her life forever along with his.

"This may sound odd" He breathed. "I've been watching you for awhile because..." He paused taking in the frightened look in her eye. "I'm the thing that you've been looking for your whole life"

Her eyes widened as she almost dropped the coffee cup to the ground. She thought she knew what he was going to say ,but had to hear it to be sure. She watched as he took another large breath, something she often did when she was also on edge. That's when her thoughts were confirmed. The strange man that had been watching her was indeed who she had been looking for. She didn't know whether to let out a sob or be overjoyed when he said...

"I don't know if you know about me or not, but I'm your brother"
