I had a picnic with Lance while watching the sunset, here’s how it went, and the struggle to actually GET THERE. Warning for chaos.
Lance’s family helped me prepare a picnic basket and also fill it. I mean I only had just gotten out of Garrison containment so I didn’t have much time to make anything myself. I was able to help with the finishing touches to some of the desserts before having to put everything in.
Shout out to Lance’s mom and Nadia (Lance’s niece) for the food.
We had planned to meet on the roof of the Garrison at 19:30, and the time was 19:15 ish. The time it would take me to get to the roof would be about 20 minutes. Due to this, I had to run upstairs and get a blanket from a closet. I was panicking a little as I picked up everything, put it on my bike, and floored it towards the Garrison.
I’m glad nothing fell of the bike, with how fast I was driving. Anyways after getting to the Garrison I headed upstairs with the basket and blanket. However.. Okay so the Garrison started making their own patrol bots. Since humans are a bit behind when it comes to technology, they have been wanting to catch up.
Catching up, and trying to do so by rushing the process, means these robots have quite a few errors. I ended up colliding with one and.. Yep now the basket was toppled and some of the desserts spilled out on the floor.
Another robot came along to clean it, but then took the basket too!! Like it just, scooped it up like it was garbage! I couldn’t open the robot for it and didn’t know what to do. I still had the blanket in my arms, and had to think fast.
I went over to the kitchen and grabbed meal bars, drinks, and 2 prewrapped burgers. Like most government food, it wasn’t the best, but honestly I had to bring something and it didn’t feel like a picnic without food.
When I finally was on the roof I was 10 minutes late. I had to explain to Lance what happened between apologies and me spreading out the blanket. He laughed though, and said we had mishaps all the time. Taking them in stride is nothing new to the both of us. We laughed, and then bonded over our mutual hate of government food.
Lance has a comfy shoulder. I don’t know why I always have the urge to lean on his side and put my head there, but I do. I’m not falling asleep, I’m not.

Do you wear your fingerless gloves under your Blade suit???
Sometimes, it depends on how much of a rush I’m in to get on the field. If I have 1-10 minutes I’ll likely be wearing my gloves. If I have over that, I likely have taken them off. It’s not uncomfortable to wear them under the suit, but people may think of it as weird.
So, if I have the time I will take them off and place them someplace secure with the rest of my normal clothes.

hey keith how’s it going
Almost on Earth now, I’ll have to write about how landing and actually being cleared is handled. They have to put you through medical tests before your let go, which is annoying but it only takes a few hours.
