A hood-bow to the #CostumeDepartment who are Jedi Knights in their own right, the passion and composure to keep all those scruffy lookin scoundrels, rebels and bucketheads sharp and dapper no matter how much sand there might be, every #Costumier deserves several hi-10’s, thankful smiles and as with all the Crew our deepest respect and kindness. It’s also very important to Recognise the #AssistantDirectors #PersonalAssistants #ADDepartment Many a Set, Base and Key #ADs #PAs lost SO much sleep to bring you these films. They are amongst the first people awaiting at the docking bay to get the day rolling, with more wit and charm than Leia Organa. They are of the very last to leave and yet they still have the hyper-drive to take down a Death Star. They are the gears that keep the film/TV/Entertainment industries going, without their dedication and boundless enthusiasm the battle to make us, the audience “Kessel Run” through our emotions would never be. High praise to them all indeed! Hugs, sometimes cake and caffeine too of course! Last (Jedi), certainly not least is the #ScriptSupervisor They are the bounty hunters of continuity, leaving no detail awry. They are the protectors of fiction becoming reality. Many hi-5’s and howdies to the #LocationsDepartment and #Drivers. They get less sleep than the majority of Crew so everyone can get to and from set location safely on time ready for Action, they make the jump to lightspeed! Never forget the #Catering #Hospitality Crews, each and everyone of them keep the Production going, day and night. No matter the cantina or secret base, there’s always a hot meal they’ve made for hundreds among hundreds of people. For everyone, in equal measure they cook for, care for and clean up after everyone. It’s one of the toughest jobs. #ThankYouAll #🤩

(Part 1) I’d like to mark today by giving a righteous Wookie roar out to the often unsung heroes of On-Set Production who work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring us ever closer to a galaxy far far away. The days and nights for the Crew and Cast are enough to push anyone to the dark side, but they power through to give us all a near-holoprojection across the silverscreen back to a long time ago, where nostalgia and new hopes empower generation after generation. To the #ArtDepartment namely the #Props #SetBuilders #Carpenters without whom we wouldn’t have a Bespin’s hope in hell of ever seeing what was in #GeorgeLucas ‘ head! Think of any planet, any spaceport or spaceship you’ve ever seen and experienced, it’s because of them our imaginations can run and fly riot around the ever expanding universe of #StarWars. Don’t ever lie and say you haven’t had a lightsaber duel in your PJs with an umbrella, or had a binary sunset showdown with a good blaster at your side. I bow to thee viewfinders and glass-troopers of the #CameraDepartment for they make a piece of junk look goooood! The #DoP #CamerasOperators #FocusPullers #1stACs #2ndACs #Grips #Riggers so so many eyes and great minds that make light bend in to our memories through the lens and see worlds beyond our current reach. Of light and electricity, raise your light swords to the #Gaffers #Sparks #Technicians #BestBoys for they lighten the load, stand tall in grand humour and shine brightly even in the deepest darkest depths of space, the #LightingDepartment emboldens the Camera Crew as they all endeavour to keep pace with any pod-racer worth their salt or spice! An audible call out to the magicians of the microphones: the #SoundDepartment #BoomOperator #SoundRecordists who have to hide wires, dead cats and blimps from our unsuspecting eyes, there isn’t a playlist out there that has been smuggled out to the delights of Cast and Crew alike. They’ll keep your voice crisp and super Earl Jones than Stewie Griffin. Now, without the #VFXDepartment ##DataWranglers encapsulating Star Warsian world’s, creatures and droids yet to be seen. You’ll think twice before 🙄 the prequels. 🤓

#100years ago the #UKParliament passed the #RepresentationOfThePeopleAct . Only allowing at the time women over 30 to #Vote, were property owners, a member or married to a member of a Local Government Register, or they were a graduate in a university constituency. It was a beginning towards social, philosophical and political equality for women. That was 1918. It started with the #Suffragists (National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies) in 1897 who protested through petitions and lobbying of #MPs, for #WomensRights to be granted. By 1903 after six years there was little progress shown for a 50K membership. #EmmelinePankhurst among many others could no longer maintain the status quo of passivity. The Suffragists represented mainly middle-class women. The #Suffragette movement mobilised working-class women to defy convention and defy the backwards laws that existed only to bound women as second class citizens; voiceless and unseen. Confrontation was a means to an end. Many #Suffragettes were imprisoned and disgraced by their loved ones for seeking equality. Violent acts on both sides unhinged the #government and parliament. All men and at most all despised Suffrage. The pain and the suffering continued. Pay a fine for protesting or face prison. Most chose prison, often protesting within their incarceration by hunger strikes. Societal bitterness towards any woman who strived for equal gender rights normalised. Ultimately, to engage direct national and global conversation towards an accord took the life of a Suffragette, #EmilyDavison in 1913. Her death, documented as an accident stoked the already high rising fires of change. However, true progress was still five years away. It would take the culmination of those women’s immense efforts before and then during #WorldWarOne for the UK government to show willing in passing a stingy Act. By then, the argument was not if, but when women would finally have equal political rights. #EqualPay , Women’s rights and true equality are still debated today. This marks a moment that what was accomplished 100 years ago could be encouraged through the education of equality the world can achieve a near future of #EqualRights #V4W
