[3.30.23] Still working on self-studying toxicology and only just beginning to get past the initial trainings and paperwork for research work. I’m having more time for writing lately, which is always nice.

So I got behind on my very manageable plan and needed to re-do some stuff to help myself get back on top of it. I’m still learning to study while my mental health is not there and I’ve realised finding a planning system I can stick to is so so important.

Observe the first time I’ve ever cleared off a to-do list in all my years of study (it was a tiny one but usually that makes no difference so I’m proud of that blank white square).

Finished off a semantics analytical assignment and submitted that, then went straight onto my criminology research skills report. Read through one of my chosen papers (Crime, Punishment and Deterrence, Gibbs, 1968) a couple times and wrote up a couple notes I thought might help me in writing the report. Criticising aspects of the research is surprisingly difficult because Gibbs does a pretty great job at laying out the limitations from what I can tell.

Okay so learning to follow plans better has not gone to plan this week. I’ve had the worst time at work (and am fully in the middle of stirring up some serious shit). Have an assignment due in a few days I’ve barely started and endless readings to do before a study group tomorrow. But I’m still trying not to let myself get so overwhelmed i just stop. A little bit at a time.

Woke up feeling very unwell so missed a few tutorials which is stressing me out a tad. But did manage to get onto campus for my criminology study group and a few hours of studying at my favourite cafe before work.

Me and my sister found this beautiful coffee shop to have breakfast at and then heading back to our room to frantically try and squeeze in all our readings before the Harry concert.

It was so nice to study with her for once! We live in different cities so never see each other and she’s just started at uni so is learning to study in a whole new way which is very exciting.
