"Thank you. Thanks for each one of you, because you've made us, me and my people, feel that we're free, we're heard, and we're going back to our homes and land."
"I've spent the whole night thinking about every video I see- you're shouting for Palestine, you are protesting for Palestine, you are dancing, singing for Palestine. I feel it here, in my head. I'm going back, and I'm free. And one day we will celebrate it in real, in Gaza, together."
"Keep going. And we will too."
Bisan Owda, journalist in Gaza , in a message to student activists, April 26, 2024

"And for the first time in our lives as Palestinians, we hear a voice louder than [the occupation], louder than their bombs, and even stronger than their control in every aspect of our lives."

if you want to actually start to end homelessness, you need to give homeless people unconditional homes, including when we use them to do drugs or sit around drinking. either housing is unconditional or it isn’t
someone sitting at home alone, an active alcoholic, squandering your charity, drinking all day is better situation than a street homeless alcoholic. someone using drugs in your charity house is better than them doing the same w no shelter
most of you would not like most street homeless people, I definitely don’t and didn’t when I was street homeless. for every one person who uses unconditional shelter to turn themselves around, someone else will do jack shit and very slowly, if ever, work through the issues that made them homeless, will maybe never be able to live independently. still better than street homelessness, still worth doing. ultimately either you believe that shelter should be universal or you don’t
homeless people actually can’t be rehabilitated if you want to end homelessness. we either affirm the right to shelter for the worst drunken, lying, filthy, cheating, self destructive homeless people that exist, genuinely irredeemable wankers, or we concede that shelter is not a right

Some context:
This was a special election in an Alabama state House race to replace the former Representative who pleaded guilty to voter fraud last year. So to be clear, this was a state race, and not for the US Congress in DC.
However, she did focus her campaign on fighting to restore and protect access to abortion, contraception, and IVF.
“Today, Alabama women and families sent a clear message that will be heard in Montgomery and across the nation. Our legislature must repeal Alabama’s no-exceptions abortion ban, fully restore access to IVF, and protect the right to contraception,” Lands said in a statement.
(source)
The election took place March 26th, with the final result being a win of just over 25%. (source)
I also want to point out that 25% in this race was a difference of just 1,479 votes. Your vote really matters in all elections, especially on the state and local level.

The resolution calls for an immediate, though temporary, ceasefire and the "immediate and unconditional" release of all Israeli hostages.
It was a vote of 14-0, with the United States abstaining to vote.
In the five articles I read about this, there was no confirmation of Israel also being required to release the thousands of Palestinian hostages they've been holding in detention.

"Hello. My name is [xxxxx]. I live in [city, state], zip code [#####]. I'm calling because I voted today in the Democratic Primary, and I chose not to vote for [Congressperson], even though I have in the past. The reason I didn't vote for them is their continued support of Israel's genocide of Palestine. It's important to me that the Congressman knows that his stance is costing him votes."
***Note for Disclosure : My Congressman was running uncontested in the Primary.

How is HIV spread?
"HIV is spread through 6 body fluids: blood, vaginal fluids, semen, pre-cum, rectal fluids, and breastmilk. To get HIV from one of these fluids, there are 4 things that need to happen.
HIV has to be present in the fluid. You can only get HIV from someone who is infected with HIV.
HIV needs to be present in a large enough quantity to cause an infection. HIV dies outside of the human body, so things like old, dried blood don’t spread HIV. Likewise, if someone is on treatment for their HIV and the amount of virus in their body is very low, they are unlikely to give you HIV.
HIV needs to get into your body. This can happen if fluids from someone with HIV get into your blood – like through a needlestick, cut, or open sore – or if fluids come into contact with the inside of your rectum, urethra, or vagina. You cannot get HIV from touching things like blood or semen with unbroken skin.
You need to be susceptible to HIV infection. Some things, like taking PrEP to prevent HIV infection, make you less susceptible. Other things, like having an untreated STI, make you more susceptible."
