Haters be like “Snape was just as bad, worse even than James, because he bullied students.”
Honestly, Snape’s behaviour gets blown so out of proportion. Because other than verbal barbs and once threatening a toad, Snape didn’t really do anything.
He didn’t put students in deliberate danger, didn’t hex students, didn’t assault anyone.
Snape gives students detention and they have to clean.
McGonagall gives students detention and they wind up in the Forbidden Forest!
One time, he threw a jar at Harry after Harry *checks notes* oh yeah, looked into Snape’s memories without permission and witnessed his worst memory of being assaulted.
So no, I don’t want to hear the “he bullied students” argument. When in context, he was no worse than any other teacher and far worse had been done to him.

What do you do when a James Stan/Snater tells you, you should read the books because you like Snape, and you tell them you have, but you like him despite his flaws and for being such a complex character and James is actually worse and less complex... but then they come at you with reasons for hating Snape that are based on scenes in the book but actually don't happen like this in the books or show that they don't have any critical reading skills? Like based on them telling me I should read the books I really thought they have read the books...
Long story short, I actually answered my own question by blocking them, but I told them already beforehand that if they comment anything more about James on my post I would block them.

I will never get over the fact that Lily didn't even ask Severus for his side of the story for Sirius' prank / attempted murder through a uncontrollable Lupin transformed into a wolf. Lily doesn't even worry about Severus, telling him outright that he should be grateful for James' intervention, trusting people more than a version of her friend she's known since she was little. Then having the nerve to say that at least the Marauders don't use black magic... Tell me Lily, magic that isn't black magic is free from any danger ? Hanging someone upside down while smothering them with soap and pulling down their underwear in front of everyone, is that less serious just because it's not black magic ? No, but seriously... I have nothing against the fact that Lily wasn't a fountain of virtue, but in reality, she was just downright an asshole. We're talking about a girl who smiled at Severus' humiliation and took the opportunity when he insulted her, clearly without meaning it, after a horrible moment, to verbally humiliate him and give up their friendship.

I'm tired of seeing people invent mean things that Severus would have done during his school days to try to make people believe that he wasn't better than James at the time, Even trying to say that somewhere, James was putting Severus through this because he knew that he was not a good person and did bad things... (While no, that's not true, I remind you that James been harassing Severus since the first train ride, you have to stop bullshit after a while) and when we point out that no, canonically it's bullshit, their surefire retort is to say that Snape's memories cannot be objective and are biased anyway... How convenient !
Like... is this a joke ?
In the HP universe we cannot see the memories from the exclusive point of view of the person concerned, we see the real scenes that really took place from an outside point of view. That's the whole principle. You can even walk there ! Unless you tamper with your memory beforehand, you can't give something biased !

I recently noticed something during two Law and Order: Criminal Intent episodes (I actually noticed it a while ago, but I only now had the time to actually verify it). And because I haven't seen anyone talk about it (I might just have missed it, but anyway), I'm now going to.
That picture is from Season 3 Episode 10. The important part here is the date (Friday, 21. November 2003). Right after that scene, we see Bobby solve the case / get the guy to confess (it was the one with the two game developers where the one killed a gaming girl because he was jealous of her spending time with his partner) and him getting a text message from Alex about her having given birth to her nephew, which makes this day his birthday.
This picture is from Season 9 Eisode 2. Again, important is the date (Thursday, 19. November 2009) Eames is at the office of these two guys, who tell her to fire Bobby. After that, we only see a few scenes of them solving the case (First, the girlfriend of the murderer is killed, and Nichols and Stevens are questioning him and his sister. Then they are at 1PP and the sister confessed, but Goren tells Nichols that they need to let the guy free to finish the mission Captain Ross died for.) and finally the last scene, which is Alex firing Bobby and her resigning in the end. I'm not 100% sure, but I assume that all these scenes take place on the same day or maybe like a maximum of half a week(?).
Now I have this idea that just a few days later (Saturday, 21. November 2009) it's Alex's nephew's 6. Birthday. From the little things we get about her private life and her family (like her talking about him in season 3 or her being at what seems to be a family member's house and some small kids running around in season 6 for, I think, Thanksgiving or something like that), I assume that she is really close with him and will probably visit him on his birthday (or maybe the day after).
Based on these things, I just had an idea for a fanfiction where Eames visits her nephew for his birthday, and they have a party with the whole family (Eames' dad and mum (if she is still alive) and her brother with his family) and she takes Bobby along with her 1. because she always does that (he's kinda part of the family) and 2. to cheere him up after all that has just happened.
I think because the whole firing and resigning thing just happened her family might not know about it, but they find out during the party, and of course they are all shocked and Bobby feels kinda guilty (like he always does) but her family (except maybe for 1 or 2 people) are not angry at him. Even better if Bobby and Alex end up together during/ at the end of the story.
I just thought I would share it here because I'm not really good at writing (from all the ideas I had, I only finished one story, and the ones I started don't seem to get done in the near future) but I would love to read it, so if someone likes this idea, feel free to use it.
