Mc Donalds Monopoly
Are you playing? Picking up your food and loading the tickets into your app to see if you have won?
The new double swipe makes it so much easier to play. You can simply load your tickets and discard, rather than having to stick them into an album (which always got lost).
But wait did you know you will never win a big prize unless you do the following
I have read the small print so you didn’t need to.
1) You must retain the tickets even after they have been scanned in. These may be required as proof of purchase.
2) Have you been keeping your receipts? Yup if you win a grand prize such as a car you will be asked to provide your till receipts.
The small print requires that you can demonstrate that you haven’t purchased too many tickets during a single day and that the tickets were purchased within the period of the promotion.
Every year someone gets pulled out of the draw, everything that person is unable to actually collect their prize because they didn’t follow the small print.
SO
Ensure that you keep a couple of random receipts with your tickets and if you are lucky enough to win a major prize you’ll actually be able to collect it.

Quick home cleansing/protection spray!
I just moved in with my smoke sensitive boyfriend, so I had to store my eucalyptus smoke stick for now and come up with another way to cleanse and protect our new place. A spray doesn’t effect anyone, it’s quicker than a smoke stick is, and bonus points for smelling like cinnamon :) Lets get started !!
1) Gather your ingredients
Tumblr media
I personally used:
-1 cinnamon stick
-3 bay leaves
-a couple pinches of rosemary
-some sea salt
-sage(homegrown and harvested in personal garden, not used for smoke cleansing)
-a couple lemon slices
-sea water
-rain water
All these ingredients have correlations with both cleansing and protecting, so I choose these, but you can pick which herbs you want to toss in there to modify the spray to your own liking! But no matter what herbs you choose, you will need these items:
-a small pot
-a pot cover
-stirring spoon
-something to strain out the herbs
-a cleansed spray bottle
-paint or marker
2)choose your sigil!
Tumblr media
I chose this simple and lovely sigil to cleanse and protect made by @kore-amore ! You can choose any sigil you like to modify the spray how you want.
3) Get brewin
Tumblr media
We have everything picked and laid out, now it’s time to grab your pot, pour the water and herbs into it, and set it to medium heat
Tumblr media
Once it gets to a boil, I like to stir it counter clockwise and think about the negative things the spray will cleanse, and then stir clockwise thinking about the positive protection the spray will bring. After a few minutes of stirring, cover the top with your lid, set it to low heat, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or however long it takes till the water is potent in smell(most of the time, depending on which herbs you use, the water will also turn a different color, mine turned yellow, as seen below)
Tumblr media
Here we have a finished brew!
4) Strain and pour
Tumblr media
Once your brew has cooled down a bit, strain out the herbs and pour into your spray bottle!
5) Paint your sigil
Tumblr media
I used the sigil I chose earlier and painted it on with black paint(once again, credit to @kore-amore for this lovely sigil), but you can choose any sigil or paint color you like! Just be sure to think hard about the intent of the sigil you are painting, as the sigil itself only does half the work, and the other is your own magik :)
6) Start sprayin!
Spray wherever you need some cleansing or protecting! My recipe smells like cinnamon with hints of the other herbs so it leaves quite the lovely smell for a short time afterwards! I love this spray, as someone who’s very busy, has a smoke sensitive boyfriend, and needed something very in tune witchy to do :) I hope you enjoy!!

Why are cancer levels going up every year?
this post I intend to expose why cases of Cancer are at their highest ever and what we can all do to avoid it.
Disclaimer : Although I’m a qualified herbalist I am not a doctor and the advice provide in this post does not replace any advice or medication prescribed to you be a medical professional.
In the past food was simple, full of vegetables with meat as a treat it was just body fuel. Although dull the diet was seasonal, full of fresh local ingredients and well balanced for PH value. The cases of Cancer were thankfully low.
As time past large companies started to form producing processed foods. Making it easier for home cooks to prepare meals and reduce the time needed. These foods were also far more tasty that people were used it. The secret however to the taste was large quantities of salt and fat which acted as a carrier for flavour. As the quantity of process food in our diets started to increase so did the cases of Heart disease and cancer as the diets became unbalanced and more acidic.
In the 1950’s however Heart disease was out of control and actions had to be taken. After lots of research it was decided that Fats were the cause and a low fat diet was the answer so overnight the food producers had to drop the fat. Unfortunately without it the food was dull and sales started to drop. Manufacturers needed something new to make food interesting and the answer was refined sugar. This has been dropped in the 1800’s after tests concluded that it was highly addictive provided no nutritional value and was harmful to health.
People loved it, the addictive quality of sugar made everything taste better and aided with brand loyalty. Sugar started to find its way into everything from Bread to hot dogs. Unfortunately sugar also turns to acid in the body as it breaks down. To keep the food fresher for longer artificial preservatives also started to become common. With these changes we also saw a risk in the victims of Cancer.
In the 70’s people started to get wise and Sugar was linked to diabetes, tooth decay and obesity so again its popularity started to wavier. Manufacturers had to start hiding it in the ingredients list with alternative names. There are currently over 60 different names the majority of which use the tag line “natural” as regardless of its problems sugar is naturally sourced.
Big industry hit back with a range of “Artificial Sweeteners”. These chemical alternatives provided similar flavours to sugar using alternative chemical compounds. Although various tests have linked these sweeteners with the growth for tumours they are approved for use and can be found in almost every food. In the 1990’s the most common preservative sodium benzoate was found to react with Vitamin C to form cancers. As if all the chemicals were not bad enough our tastes had also changed moving away from alkaline foods such at leafy greens and fresh fruit and towards breads, chocolate, coffee, nuts and as mentioned sugars, all of which have an acidic effect on the body.
So in short with have moved from simple stews prepared with fresh vegetables from the garden to manufactured ready meals made with highly processed ingredients and packed with artificial chemicals, salt and sugars.
Some effort is being made to fight back with campaigns such as “5 a day” encouraging the eating of more fresh fruit and vegetables and everyone has heard of the risks of eating too much salt and sugar. However countries simply can not complete with the marketing power or power of the multi billion dollar food and cancer cure industries.
So what can you do?
While you are in lockdown, learn to cook. If you prepare the food yourself fresh you know exactly what has gone into it.

I learned in a Latin Studies class (with a chill white dude professor) that when the Europeans first saw Aztec cities they were stunned by the grid. The Aztecs had city planning and that there was no rational lay out to European cities at the time. No organization.

The UK Coronavirus response explained.
Before the virus hit the health service was short by at least 40,000 nurses. It’s well known that the NHS was underfunded and on the point of breaking, it simply can’t cope with the virus.
By some in the government allowing the virus to spread is seen as a way to cull the high dependency groups who use the majority of the services resources. Namely the elderly and serverly ill.
It has been sold on the benefits of a “Herd” protection. In otherwords if enough people catch it, they will carry protection that should prevent the spread naturally. It obviously comes with a very high cost or as Boris puts it “A lot of people will lose loved ones”.
Even the delay in closing the schools it part of the plan. Kids are great spreaders. Leave it long enough that some catch the virus, then close the schools and a large number will be sent to spend the day with elderly grandparents.
The UK is not recommending masks as this would help to prevent the spread and defeat the goal of allowing people to become infected. In case you were wondering a mask doesn’t protect you from the virus (unless N95 standard) the surgical masks you see everyone wearing in china instead prevent you from spreading the virus to others if you have it (without knowing it). Just think of them as a tissue attached to your mouth to catch any coughs or sneezes. If you arn’t sneezing on your hands and touching objects others can’t contract the virus.
This method is one of the most effective. The virus can remain active for up to an amazing 72 hours. If you cough on a handrail, each person for 72 hours who touches it will pass it onto at least 7 other hard services. Anyone then touching their mouth could become infected.
It’s a no win situation, hide and wait it out, spread it and don’t have to worry so much in the future.

Black lives matter
An alternative view
So far there are five main groups supporting the Black lives in matter campaign.
1) The believers. Those who truly understand the issues and want a peaceful protest.
2) The followers. Those who like to jump on the bandwagon and support any cause, normally with no idea what the cause really is.
3) Fresh air seekers. Those who are fed up with being locked in their houses due to Corona.
4) The hardliners. Those who disagree with softly, softy approach and believe action and violence is needed.
5) The trouble makers, those who simply see the protests as an excuse to riot and loot.
Sadly from what I've seen the most important group "the believers" are in the minority.
The real issue.
1) Stop saying all lives matter. Of course they do and the message isn't about prioritising black people. In some regards the BLM tag is not the best. Something highlighting the need for change may have worked better.
2) It not all the cops fault. Have you asked yourself why cops treat black people different to white people? The main answer is perception. Although black people only make up a tiny proportion of the American population they are responsible for over half the counties murders. Stats like this shape how officers react to situations. When they arrive on scene they have seconds to gauge what has happened and sometimes simply get it wrong. I’m not saying that all officers are professional, sadly the internet is full of examples of some abusing their power and being too trigger happy.
3) Forget racism, I have a number of black friends who are far more racist towards white people than any white person I've met. Systemic white racism is simply dying out with the boomers, most parents are teaching the children that racism is wrong. However black parents have not caught up and a worrying number are still teaching racist views against whites.
4) Equality. If you ask someone who has done the most for equality you'll get the normal answers like Malcolm X. Ask any kid in world who they want to be like when they grow up and you'll hear Samuel L Jackson, Usain Bolt, Beyonce or Will Smith. Ask anyone to name their favourite actor and Morgan Freeman will be on the list. These people have really broken down barriers, more than any of the historical figures. Today if you put in the effort you really can achieve anything, nobody is holding you back but yourself.
5) Slavery. All over the globe people are taking down statues and defacing monuments. This is just vandalism and is ruining the image of the campaign. Those responsible for the slavery are all now dead and those living had nothing to do with it. Slavery is not dead there is modern slavery today, if you really feel passionate about slavery campaign to stop it and stop complaining about something that never happened to you. Ask yourself this would you rather live in the USA or return to Africa as your current freedom allows you to do?
6) Culture. If you are a black man you are more likely to be struck by lightning than be shot by a cop. You are however far more likely to be shot by another black man. That's the main problem, black on black crime. If the BLM campaign is aimed at anyone it should be the black community.
The solution
The solution is easy, change.
1) Opportunities. The government needs to invest in programmes to enable young black teenagers to meet their full potential and not become trapped. To motivate and encourage education to allow those prepared to put in the effort to achieve their goals.
2) Police. As one office on social media put it. “If you joined the police for power over others then you have missed whole purpose behind serve and protect”. If asked honestly officers will know who the bad seeds are. Rather than waiting for the next incident these people need to be identified and asked to leave.
3) Change the culture. Gang violence is the main cause of all the perception problems. Stop idolising rap artists who normalise violence and stamp the destructive ideas out. Only the community itself can take a stand and say, this is not right, we are better than this.

Election options
As much as I would love this election to be about the NHS, pensions, low income families, Environment. Literally anything else it simply isn't, it's about BREXIT everything else is a smoke screen. Don't firget It's the only reason the election was called. So your options are;
Just get us out (Conservatives)
We are better together (Lib Dem)
What's brexit? (Labour)
Protest vote time (others)
Conservatives:
As much as we all think he's a clown boris has managed in his short term in office what may failed to do, get a deal. It's not great but every agrees its workable. If you've really had enough of the word Brexit this is the quickest way to make it end. However we still don't know what the outcome will be. We have been lulled into a false sense of security by the very long discussion period. If it happens some firms will leave, some Banks will leave, employment will drop and everyone will be worse off. I've been on trade missions and there really is now countries just waiting to sign big deals to replace the EU trade.
Lib Dems:
Although they appear to be currently led by a School mum who's not really to sure what going on. The Lib dems have the only other sold view on Brexit, stop it now. Recalling Article 50 is not actually as simple as saying oops I've changed my mind. We would need to get agreement to recall it. But it is possible as an alternative way to put this mess to bed. This is also the only outcome that we can say with confidence would improve our way of life by returning corporate faith in the uk. So if you regret voting leave now the lies are known or voted exit this is your best option. Its likely they want get a majority but they should get enough to make the views heard.
Labour:
Sadly the current stick your head in the sand and hope it goes away approach really wont work. In January if we don't agree yet another extension we will simply crash out, ironically most likely with Boris's deal anyway.
SNP:
The party are pro stay however, can only think that Nicola Sturgeon suffered some traumatic event as a child as her hatred for the UK must stem from something. She has admitted that her manifesto doesn’t include any real policies other than to get Scotland the chance of a second referendum., but what then?. Current studies indicate that Scotland would be pushed into a recession following a departure from England. It would not simply allow Scotland to return to Europe as Scotland would need to meet all of the entry requirements. most believe this would require the creation of a Scottish currency that would then be superseded by the euro following membership. like Ireland we would then also be faced with the potential prospect of some kind of immigration clearance when passing between Scotland and England.. I know that the UK government has been Shawdee of late but I truly believe that we are stronger together as one country.
GREENS :
The Party have done well in areas like Brighton in the past and I really hope that they keep their one current seat and gain a few more. The government needs a conscience and the Green party fulfils this role well, not everything can be about greed. They are pro stay and therefore a tactical alternative to Lib Dem.

On British Politics
Labour isn’t ideal, I know. Ideally I would vote for the Green Party myself but I think the biggest and most pressing issue is getting rid of the conservatives. They have been proven time and time again to be bare faced liars. Boris Johnson has made disgusting and often racially motivated comments towards people from all walks of life - from Muslims, people of colour, women, working class people etc. He not only referred to the children of single mothers as “ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate” (an odd remark considering his ex wife is raising his children single) but said working class men are “likely to be drunk, criminal, aimless, feckless and hopeless”. These people make up a majority in our society but all he has done is insult and degrade them. He unlawfully suspended parliament and for some reason that I can’t comprehend, he thinks standing space during football matches is a valid and pressing issue within British society when there has been an increase of 19% of people using food banks.
Not every family using a food bank is neglectful or poor at managing money. Illness and a change in circumstance can strike at any moment often with unforeseen result. You can’t deny there is a strong question of character, even within his own party when it comes to Boris johnson. He’s proved time and time again he simply cannot be trusted and isn’t afraid to lie and cheat. He consistently votes for military action such as the Iraq war which turned out to be a moral disaster at an abysmal scale.
Poverty in Britain is at an all time high and if I have to pay a bit extra in my taxes so a child can eat, then I don’t mind at all.

I've known Kate for years, you can trust her interpretation of these findings.
“Diagnostic manuals such as the DSM were created to provide a common diagnostic language for mental health professionals and attempt to provide a definitive list of mental health problems, including their symptoms.
The main findings of the research were:
• Psychiatric diagnoses all use different decision-making rules
• There is a huge amount of overlap in symptoms between diagnoses
• Almost all diagnoses mask the role of trauma and adverse events
• Diagnoses tell us little about the individual patient and what treatment they need
The authors conclude that diagnostic labelling represents ‘a disingenuous categorical system’.
Lead researcher Dr Kate Allsopp, University of Liverpool, said: “Although diagnostic labels create the illusion of an explanation they are scientifically meaningless and can create stigma and prejudice. I hope these findings will encourage mental health professionals to think beyond diagnoses and consider other explanations of mental distress, such as trauma and other adverse life experiences.”
Professor Peter Kinderman, University of Liverpool, said: “This study provides yet more evidence that the biomedical diagnostic approach in psychiatry is not fit for purpose. Diagnoses frequently and uncritically reported as ‘real illnesses’ are in fact made on the basis of internally inconsistent, confused and contradictory patterns of largely arbitrary criteria. The diagnostic system wrongly assumes that all distress results from disorder, and relies heavily on subjective judgments about what is normal.””
