i genuinely can't get over teen! dad bruce wayne so please consider the following:

18 year old bruce wayne deciding to foster 2 year old dick grayson after seeing the fateful circus incident.

(according to new jersey law people from the age of 18 and up can be foster parents with no further age restrictions)

he does most of his training carrying dick around and dick spends the entire time just monologuing about dora the explorer while bruce is like "that's nice"

(after a few months he gets totally into it he's like: "oh jeesh, i can't believe swiper did that, how horrible of him, you did tell him no swiping right?")

alfred initially is like "ah master bruce, decided to sign up for teen mom season 4 have we?" but two weeks in he's dressing dick up in 'i love my butler grandpa' t-shirts and is already favouring him over bruce.

bruce at first just tells dick "i'm going to try and be a big brother to you, etc etc" but dick understands like 60% of what he just said and is calling him "dad" within 3 months.

he still goes to train with the league and has to justify to ra's al ghul why every 10 minutes he has to use the satellite phone to talk to a toddler about the plot developments of blue's clues.

him becoming batman is just increasingly harder because he has to spend an hour trying to convince dick that "no the guy in the weird suit is also me- i'm the guy in the weird suit"

by the time dick is like 3, bruce has found him hanging from a chandelier at least four times and he still doesn't know how dick managed to get up there.

bruce just hanging out with dick and being like "yeah this little dude is my best friend and what about it?"

when dick eventually gets older and is like "i wanna be a superhero and fight crime" bruce is like "you don't wanna be associated with those dweebs, go be a ballerina or something"

(clarks first reaction upon meeting dick and realising that oh wait isn't bruce like, 24? and this kid is like 8? is "that must've been quite a shock for your parents" and he immediately flings himself into the sun.)

like "my god, I totally forgot that he was a genius"

wally and dick go on a mission in france and while wally is whipping out google translate dick is already like 'bonjour, je cherche un homme qui s'appelle-'

he runs them out to slovenia on a lead and while wally is back to google translate dick is already helping the perp's grandma file her taxes

"how many languages do you speak?"

"mentally? two on a good day."

"and technically?"

"like thirteen? maybe fourteen if i squint?"

wally's like 'not that i expected anything less from you but what the fuck man'

damian assumes dick is ridiculously stupid at first because he's seen dick's file and it's like 'didn't finish college, hasn't had a stable job ever, still doesn't use his trustfund money' so clearly dick is beneath him

but when damian gets completely stumped over a chemical compound he can't identify, dick manages to identify it after 10 seconds of looking and damian's just like "i'm going to idolise the absolute shit out of you from here on out"

steph gives dick her med school homework to prove to bruce that college is really difficult and he just fills it all in in 15 minutes and hands it over while she's still ranting about the work load.

"how can you know this much about neurobiology?"

"i dabble"

12 year old dick grayson accidentally solved superman's case because he thought it was clark's crime novel and he's like "clearly this franklin guy killed his brother, his entire alibi is shit, it's too obvious. honestly uncle clark, i know you can write a better story than this."

jason tried to cheat dick out of a win at a pubquiz by switching all the questions with really specific ones and dick still won.

"which country was group 4's winner in the european football cup of 1996?"

"croatia"

"how the fuck"

tim knows that technically, dick is a genius, but he's also seen him flying into walls at 60 miles per hour so he's a little skeptical until dick's like "wanna see me hack the pentagon?" and genuinely hacks the pentagon

#my personal headcanon is that steph goes to med school or nursing school or both #dick is multilingual in the way that technically he's fluent in multiple languages but he forgot the word 'apple' and could only sign it #dick helping slovenian grandmothers do their taxes like: honestly i don't know what that means but it can't be too important #i speak like 5 languages and i'm bad in all of them #nothing worse than doing a test and getting asked a question you can only answer in german #'what's the french word for apartment?' i dont know but i can tell you the latin word for roof #it's tectum #it also means house #teknon means child in ancient greek #(unrelated sidenote)

Phew! That’s the hardest page in chapter 1 out of the way! I’m still a bit of a newbie to drawing big ‘ol environments like this but I think by the end of this comic I’ll be a dab hand at drawing buildings!

AU where Danny and Damien are brothers and this is only discovered because Danny entered a Damian Wayne look alike contest while vacationing in Gotham.

His parents adopted him as a baby and kinda just forgot they did. They still love Danny of course but Danny’s been with them so long they just forgot. Talia sent Danny away because he was a sickly baby with a weak heart. Danny grew out of the sickness as he got older and took some meds for his heart till the accident and then his heart didn’t need full operating capacity to survive.

The Wayne’s were live streaming the contest and placing bets on who is going to win and since Damian is supposed in school they think he skipped and entered himself in contest. They don’t know why Damian would do it and it doesn’t help that when Danny wins and the judges are wondering who he is he cheekily answers “Well I’m Damian Wayne of course.”

Eventually Damian gets home from school and the family is asking questions about the look alike contest he entered himself in and naturally “Why would I enter myself in such ridiculous things.” and heads off to do whatever.

Cue a race to the computer to figure out who the kid that looks exactly like Damian is and they find out it was Danny wearing contacts (he probably just made his eyes glow green but he has to tell people he wore contacts) but the resemblance is very uncanny and they also discover Danny is adopted. So for safe measures they find out where he’s staying and kinda illegally collect some DNA samples from his hotel room while Danny is out.

The test results come back positive that Danny is directly related to Bruce and Damian. Damian is surprised as hell as it was stressed that he was the heir to the league and no one else. Bruce is at a point where sure it’s a surprise but he’s not surprised something like this would happen.

Danny in the meantime is ecstatic that he got $300 for turning his eyes green and standing on a stage. He’s having the time of his life in Gotham with his $300 and suddenly Bruce Wayne is standing at his hotel room door and asking to do an official DNA test to see if they’re related. Danny thinks he’s the legit son of Fentons but Bruce is very insistent and offered to buy him lunch no matter the results. Danny decides to do it because free lunch with Bruce Wayne. He heads back to the hotel room and his parents come back later than evening and Danny’s like.

“Hey the funniest thing happened. Bruce Wayne asked me to take a DNA test to confirm whether or not I’m his biological son. Crazy right?”

And the Fenton parents “Wait, oh shit. Funny story Danny, we adopted you as a baby so that might be an actual possibility”

“Wait what???!!!??” And Danny spends the next 15 hours freaking out because there’s an actual chance he might be the biological son of Bruce Wayne and Damian Wayne’s brother.

Test comes back with positive results of course and the Fenton’s are invited to have Dinner with the Wayne’s. As many siblings as possible try to find a way to justify their presence at the dinner to meet their new little brother.

Damian would have mixed feelings on finding out he has a blood brother. It’s fantastic of course but it also riles up some old feelings about being the “blood son”. He’s curious about his brother, his twin brother, but he can’t help but feel threatened as his place as “blood son” This would’ve take place when they’re like 17 so it’s been at least 7 years since Damians been with Bruce so some of the league and inflated ego is gone but even if you unlearn somthing you can still find yourself falling back into bad habits.

Omg I love this!!

just imagining the dinner going! Trying not to be so awkward but how can it not when you have the eccentric Fentons and the Waynes.

Also like not only is Damian going through his own mixed feelings about having a twin but Danny is still wrapping his mind around that he is adopted and is son to THE Bruce Wayne! AND HE IS A FUCKING TWIN! Its a lot to take in. He feels like some zoo animal on display having so many eyes on him and yes they are definetly analyzing him. Hes squirming, uncomfortable and wants this evening to just end. Go back to what was his normal but nope! No can do! I can just see him excusing himself being done with dealing with Damian’s hostility. Also waaaaay to many questions he needs a breather.

Danny Phantom au where everything is exactly the same. I mean EXACTLY the same. Except Paulina isn’t a bitch for no reason and Dash outgrows his Toxic masculinity and they are unlikely friends with the trio, and Jazz is more involved cause they’re her friends too, and Valerie goes full ghost Hunter not just for a side plot like she wants them all gone and takes Vlads place as big bad once he’s gone cause her backstory and temper make the perfect villain and I love seeing women lose their minds and commit murder, and tucker dates boys, and Danny and Sam still end up together but they are both written better as individuals, also kitty and johnny are friends not foes, and Sam is a witch, and Maddie and jack are more psycho dangerous to the point that Danny doesn’t trust them at all, but he does trust mr lancer cause one teacher should know why he’s always late, and everything is mostly exactly the same, but just slightly better and darker but also lighter cause Danny gets to take naps 💗😴

AMITY GOTHIC: Phantom Pains

I am obsessed with both Danny Phantom and Gothic Literature. I’m southern so I’m partial to Southern Gothic. Anyway, heres a fun little small town scary twist on DP.

Amity Park was a place that had carved its place in the world as The Most Haunted Town in America. This made the place a bit of a boon for ghost hunters, tourists, and strange eccentrics willing to buy houses near the edge of the place. It was one of those places that were either beloved or whispered about in mocking tones. That being said, being the most haunted town it was still a small town. A few hundred people away from being considered a village, rarely gain anyone in the population other than those who had kids there and decided to stay.

I know I’ve thrown around a lot of various Ghost King headcanons but you want to know the version I really believe in and want? Danny had a legitimate strong claim to the throne when he defeated Pariah Dark but he was still young, seen as an annoyance, like he wasn’t a real ghost. Most of the Zone and it’s leadership just kind of decided to ignore Phantom’s claim and focused more on preventing Vlad from acting on his much more tenuous claim.

But then the years go on, Phantom becomes much more powerful, he learns what it means to be a ghost and understands more of Zone culture. He still fights off ghosts but they soon recognize he’s not just being a killjoy, he’s fulfilling his obsession and self appointed guardianship of Amity. Agreements are reached and truces conducted and pretty soon the ghosts think to themselves that Danny isn’t that bad. He’s just as much a ghost as they are and he’s genuinely fun to fight. They start to think that he wouldn’t be the worst choice for King.

Danny makes ghost friends, spends more time in the Zone in general. He forms strong alliances with many powerful and influential ghosts. More and more see Danny as he is, a strong ghost with a compassionate heart and a dedication to protecting others, living and dead. Ghosts like Frostbite and Dora and Pandora see these traits and kind of edge him towards his destiny. Some Ghost Zone politics lessons here, a little bit of royal history there, enough to prep Danny for what they see as inevitable.

By the time Danny’s senior year comes around, it doesn’t matter that there’s other candidates for the throne. Danny is the only real choice having gained the support of most major members of the Zone. Unlike Vlad and the others who were actively vying for power, Danny was the only one who seemed to be willing to help out the ghosts. The Zone looked at itself and imagined a King who would fight for them, who wasn’t just the strongest and the fiercest but the kindest. With enough built up support, Danny was named heir apparent.

When he was shocked and stammered out that he didn’t want this, that the ghosts couldn’t possibly want this, he was shocked to see how many ghosts wanted him. Danny had never been wanted before and then it was all about his powers or his connections. This time, for the first time, he was wanted for just being him. He did a lot of thinking, long hours of soul searching before accepting the claim. It was a job he felt he could do in bones, knew that he would be good at, that would fulfill both his ghost obsession and his human desire to help.

Danny started out as the Dark Horse candidate, the one no one wanted or was expecting to win. He ends up with the crown not because he fought harder or took it by force, but because his very nature was enough to change minds, to make the ghosts wonder if maybe it was possible for a King to actually be kind.
